What lenses and camera do you take photos with?
I love your photos, the photos of birds are as vivid as if you were observing them through binoculars.
Hi there,
And thank you! I just browsed your photos, they are wonderful.
For camera specifics, I will reuse an old answer, I hope you don’t mind :)
"My go-to camera, especially during summer, is a Canon Eos 80D. I also have a Canon 6D Mark II which I tend to use more during winter and dark/cloudy/rainy days. As for lenses, I use a zoom 100-400 mm (Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM), but I also frequently use a 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens for flowers, plants and insects. These are cameras and lenses I’ve used many years, and I know them very well. As with family, I tend to argue with them from time to time (“focus!”, “no, it’s NOT too dark!”, “why don’t you learn to communicate like a normal person?!” etcetera), but I always love them no matter what."
I also use my iPhone from time to time, especially when I’m scouting an area or when I simply don’t have access to my system camera. I'm thinking of trying out old fashioned analogue cameras as well, but I haven't got around to that yet (not to mention that I can't afford it at the moment). Oh, and I remember my old Polaroid camera with much love, but that camera is long gone.
All the best!

Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, Is it worth the hype?
Founded in 1998, the first trombone-style lens has been replaced with a conventional rotating zoom layout and boasts lots of optical enhancements. The lens is slightly thinner, wider and thicker than the first, but the transfer to a rotating zoom layout should solve problems connected with dust being squeezed in through operation.
Prices and Availability in UAE :
canon ef 100-400 price in uae is AED 6499
Additionally, it provides three picture stabilization modes and provides 4 stops of insertion in comparison to 1.5 from the preceding version.  The new lens will automatically lock the IS components as soon as it finds a tripod is used. Minimum focus distance is enhanced to 3.2 ft (compared to 6.5 feet ) and also the lens boasts 0.31x maximum magnification.  A brand new bayonet-style ET-83D hood is also included, using a slot for easier adjustment of filters. The EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM utilizes an entirely new optical formulation with a single Fluorite plus one Super UD component.
The advantages are lower ghosting and flaring, like the manner Canon's Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) can be employed in wide angle lenses. For photographers who wish to function as closely as possible for their subjects, the minimum focusing distance of this lens was reduced to only 3.2 ft. (0.98m), leading to a maximum magnification of 0.31xray.
The first EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM was well known for its push-pull zoom modification, but the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM utilizes a rotation-type zoom ring much like the one located on the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lens which allows for much more precise adjustments, easier handling, and also always excellent weight equilibrium during handheld photography.  Additionally, the lens features a better zoom torque adjustment ring which permits the simple feeling of the zoom pressure based on private shooting preferences.
The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM contains three Picture Stabilization (IS) modes ─ normal, panning, and throughout vulnerability only.   Every IS style is individually designed to assist provide outstanding effects in a huge array of shooting scenarios, and all function to fulfill the private preferences of photographers dependent on the sort of IS they want.  The optical IS supplies around four shutter speed measures of correction, improved from 1.5 measures in the prior model.  Moreover, the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM features Canon's recently developed Air Sphere Coating (ASC) that helps to lessen backlit flaring and ghosting considerably, in addition to a 9-bladed circular aperture Electro-Magnetic Diaphragm which helps enhance beautiful, gently blurred backgrounds. Much like L-series lenses, the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM is extremely resistant to water and dust, with exceptional durability in harsh conditions, perfect for wildlife photographers in rainforest surroundings, or sports photographers around the sideline catching action shots of their huge game. Fluorine coating on front and back surfaces of the lens may repel dust particles and water droplets.  Additionally, it makes smears and fingerprints simple to remove without using lens cleaning fluid.  Included with the lens would be your brand new ET-83D lens hood, so which includes a neatly placed and handy side window allowing the user to readily adjust specialty filters whereas the lens hood stays in place.  Additionally, the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM has a newly designed detachable tripod mount that may be eliminated to decrease weight through the handheld operation.

Check out what's in #CanonExplorerofLight @dorn.bruce's gear bag! “I’m a commercial photographer/filmmaker working in the fields of automotive, adventure, branding, and fashion so my kit needs to be extensive and readily available. I own lots of gear – cameras, lenses, and enough lighting and grip equipment to fill a couple of adventure trucks. When folks comment on the monetary investment I have in just cameras and lenses – the tip of the iceberg, really – I point out that my gear doesn’t so much cost me money as it makes me money. I invest in Canon gear because it’s brilliant and is supported with care by CPS. Shown below is a current sampling of the bodies and lenses I regularly use: Cameras (multiple): EOS 1Dx MK II, EOS 5DsR, EOS 5D MKIV, EOS R Prime lenses: RF 50mm f1.2L, EF 85mm f/1.4L IS, EF 200mm f2L IS, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II Macro Lenses: RF 35mm f/1.8 IS STM, EF 100mm f2.8L IS, EF 180 Macro f3.5L Zoom Lenses: EF 11-24mm f/4, EF 16-35mm f/4 IS, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II, RF 24-105mm f/4 IS, EF 28-300mm f/4.5-56L IS, EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II, EF 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6L II, EF 200-400 f4L IS USM w/extender 1.4 Tilt-Shift Lenses: TS-E 17mm f/4L.
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words and for using Google to translate your comments to Swedish. I'll answer you in English though, as Google can be a bit untrustworthy from time to time (as is my English, but never mind).
Please know that I don't expect anyone to support me via Ko-fi, so don't feel bad about it. I'm just glad you are enjoying my pictures. As for which camera I use, I re-use my standard answer, as this is a question I get quite often. Here goes:
My go-to camera, especially during summer, is a Canon Eos 80D. As with family, I tend to argue with them from time to time (“focus!”, “no, it’s NOT too dark!”, “why don’t you learn to communicate like a normal person?!” etcetera), but I always love them no matter what.
I also use my iPhone from time to time, especially when I’m scouting an area or when I simply don’t have access to my system camera. I’m thinking of trying out old fashioned analogue cameras as well, but I haven’t got around to that yet (not to mention that I can’t afford it at the moment). Oh, and I remember my first camera, an old Polaroid, with much love, but that camera is long gone.
So there you go. "IS" in the zoom lens name above stands for "image stabilisation", which paired with shutter speed settings makes the bird pictures sharp. But you should know that I take many, many pictures that are far from sharp - pictures you will never see...
Thanks again for contacting me. Have a wonderful day!

On December 28th, the Carolina Panthers visited the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons. The game was sold out and the winner was awarded a playoff spot. Atlanta Falcons Creative Director, Michael Benford was kind enough to provide credentials to me for taking photos on the field.
My gear for the game, consisted of a Canon 6D full frame on a Black Rapid shoulder strap for wide shots and a Canon 7D Mark II crop-sensor on a Manfrotto 680B Mono-pod for high-speed action. My glass consists of a Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM (For wide shots and if the subject is close) and a Sigma EX 10mm f/2.8 DC Fisheye HSM (For fun).
One thing to be aware of is that the Falcons play indoors and there is not much natural light available. Since everything moves at a hundred miles per hour, it is best to keep your shutter speed north of 1/1000. There is really only one way to get a decent exposure and keep up with the speed of the game; open the Aperture all the way up and crank up that ISO. Cranking up the ISO means there will be a lot of noise/grain in the photos. I also monitored my Exposure Compensation during the game and had it anywhere between +1 to +2. I had to be careful not to over expose the images, and still get a boost so they are not underexposed in the the faces because of the interior helmet shadows.
In sports photography, everything moves fast, so it was in my best to keep my focus on El-Servo. I had my Auto Focus on Case 4 Tracking Sensitivity which is for subjects that accelerate or decelerate quickly. Here are some of my photos from the game.
Another important thing about shooting an NFL game, is to be in the right location. This has to do with thinking ahead and making educated guesses on where the ball may go. Luck has a lot to do with it too. During the game, I managed to work around both benches and end zones. Keep in mind, there are hundreds and hundreds of people on the sidelines from player personal, officials, coaches and media. It is important to try and find a flexible angle in case there is a long pass, you do not someone blocking your field of view.
Choosing a focal range also requires anticipation, because you want to get in close, but it is hard to see the whole play unfold. If you are shooting too wide and want to later crop your photo, your subject may not have many pixels.
It is not hard to isolate one player such as the QB or the RB, but the challenge is watching the quarterback’s eyes and the receiver’s route running to anticipate a throw. Remember, these guys are professionals. Their goal is to deceive the defenders, not stare down their targets. Once the ball is thrown, I had to make a split second decision to twitch camera’s to the wide-angle lens in case the ball is coming towards me. If it is not, I need to pan the camera to the subject and possibly zoom in or out in less than a split second and focus. This can be very difficult, but very rewarding.
Although, the game turned out to be very one-sided, I still managed to get a few good shots of the Falcons offense, but as it turned out, Carolina had more of the big plays and that is where I made most of the photos.

Características principales del Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III
