54%. Describe your character’s favorite possession. Where did they get it, and why are they so attached?

Diane : her car. She bought it with economies from a year's pay from her first job, and it was more or less a wreck. But it was still running. She can sleep in it, live in it, if need be (might not want that. We're talking about a fucking TWINGO). And it has been her salvation and allowed her to run away from her toxic family. Now, it also has been pretty instrumental in her meeting first and then regularly with *someone* in need of a ride so. Only good things come with this car.

Desden : technically, Kalinka is Desden's possession, but that's too easy. Apart from her, and the stuff that makes his life easier, he's not really a possessions guy. But if you ask him, he'll probably run to the drawer where he keeps all the things his nieces have given him. He keeps a couple of bracelets they made in his wallet. And yes, he can tell one's bright pink and the other is full of glitter, the only reason why he's not wearing them is that the kids have greatly underestimated the size of his wrist. Proud Uncle Desden.

Boum Tchak Bam

Exposé à l’EPFL au ROLEX Learning Center du 27 avril au 11 octobre 2017, « Boum Tchak Bam » est le projet créé par l’artiste Camille Scherrer où musique, design et technologie se rejoignent. L’artiste a dessiné trois chaises à bascule géantes qui provoquent des sons. Lorsque chaque chaise est actionnée, elles forment un morceau musical diffusé par ondes radios dans le ROLEX Learning Center. L’œuvre dépasse le simple objet jusqu’à devenir une forme d’expérience émotionnelle où chaque personne joue son rôle dans l’orchestre afin de créer une seule et même musique.

Lyrique, poétique, amusant et ingénieux, Boum Tchak Bam fait parti d’un programme baptisé « Artist on the Campus ». L’œuvre parle à tout le monde grâce à son fonctionnement technologique, manuel, intentionnel et poétique. Chaque enfant s’y repère, tout comme chaque adulte. La chaise à bascule rappelle une enfance, mais la technologie utilisée rappelle ce progrès qui évolue depuis toujours. L’utilisation des ondes radios propose une nouvelle forme de vie, comme si l’innovation nous permettrait de nous rejoindre, de nous amuser et même tout simplement de vivre alors que nous ne nous trouvons pas dans le même lieu. Les chaises de Camille Scherrer nous invitent dans un bal partagé tel une nouvelle harmonie amenée par un monde d’ondes et de relations à distance.

!PETIT REPORTER!

Les lauréats du concours Bulles de Mémoire de l’ONAC-VG (Office national des anciens combattants et victimes de guerre) ont été désignés !

L’édition 2018-2019 avait pour thème « Après la guerre, se reconstruire ». Le concours Bulles de Mémoire existe depuis 2011 et est ouvert aux jeunes de collèges et lycées ou de niveau équivalent (scolarisés ou non), et a pour but la réalisation d’une bande dessinée (dessin, scénario et dialogues) par les jeunes (seuls ou en groupe) inscrits au concours. Le concours n’est pas limité au cadre scolaire puisque les inscrits peuvent participer au nom de leur établissement scolaire, en candidat libre ou au sein d’une association. La réalisation doit porter sur la valorisation de l’histoire racontée et non pas sur une représentation de la guerre et amener les candidats à réfléchir sur l’héritage des grands conflits contemporains dans la société.
