HI HI! Hi :D!
I am the same anon who asked for headcanons with the base stardew valley crew reacting to a cottagecore witch/wizard who makes artisan goods, potions and enchanted goods!
So I come to you with another request >:D! The same idea as my first request but this time with Stardew Valley expanded and maybe Ridgeside Village if you feel like it. If not, then I am perfectly okay with you just focusing on one of them ^w^
Thank-you in advance!
Hey hey, dear anon 👋 Glad to see you again!
I'll leave only SVE in this ask, and describe all SVE NPCs (not counting members of The First Slash Clan besides Jolyne and Lance, since we don't know much about them yet). Enjoy 🫰💕
_________________________________________
SVE NPCs react to cottagecore Wizard/Witch!Farmer:
Well, Magnus wouldn't be surprised here, as he had seen Farmer's magical potential even before they arrived in the Pelican Town. But old wizard thought they would only be venturing into the farm's field of endeavour, and not yet into alchemy and enchantment. Magnus will be a little concerned, as Farmer actually needs official permission from the Ministry so they can safely brew potions and create trinkets without fear of being accused of illegal use of magic or even being declared a renegade. He's just giving them fair warning.
What in the tarnation is Farmer offering Andy? Huh? Elixirs? Heck no, he'd been burned once by some charlatan's "miracle ointment". After that the old farmer's hair fell out, which he used to cover his baldness with a cap (the hair grow back, the cap habit remained). So nope, though Farmer is his friend and he is grateful for their homemade mead, but he doesn't believe in any elixirs. And doesn't believe in magic either. Don't talk nonsense, Farmer.
Huh, both farmer and adventurer - and now a wizard/witch as well? Impressive! Jolyne truly admires Farmer and is grateful for all the healing potions they made for The First Slash Clan. She also notes that thanks to the cheese, pickles and other artisan goods that fill the clan's pantry, they will definitely not go hungry in case the enemy cuts off any opportunity to move to the mainland. Heh, talented person is talented at everything, right?
Sophia loves to visit Farmer's house, because every corner of their home is an aesthetic delight! All those little vials of spices, bottles with beautiful labels, the smell of herbs, the collection of gems. They even have a huge cauldron! She'll take quite a few selfies and photos, praising the aesthetics of her friend's home, as well as their generosity for the fairy roses and homemade fairy rose honey she received as gifts. However, whether the girl believes Farmer is a real witch/wizard is still unclear.
Along with her pink-haired friend, Scarlett will wonder and marvel at the beauty of Farmer's hermit witch-style farmhouse ("style?"), and won't forget to take a hundred photos for the "aesthetics" folder, too. She'll also really enjoy the trinkets Farmer made for her. A good luck charm? Hehehe, cool, she loves a beautiful green stone in jewellery, just like the real thing! Tho she will be surprised when the amulet lights up and starts working magic, really bringing a little luck into the girl's life. H-how?!
Victor always praised Farmer, saying that they "doing magic" when he tasted their homemade cheese or iridium quality wine. To which Farmer replied that "he hadn't seen real magic yet" and showed him a whole collection of trinkets they had enchanted to give him one ability or another. The spaghetti lover's jaw would drop at what he saw. Yes, he believes in magic, and yes, he believes Farmer 100% that the amulet he received as a gift will protect him from harm.
Well, well, well, what do we have here~ Camilla sensed potential in Farmer, but she didn't think they'd be casting difficult spells on amulets and armor at such a young age. Hmm? Official authorization? Forget those old farts in Ministry and Magnus' lectures. By the time they give permission, Farmer will be old as Razzy. No, a talent like that can't go to waste, and the Castle Village witch wants to teach Farmer more tricks. No, it won't interfere with their farming business either. Oh, she can't wait~
Ok, Farmer has a 'gift', and another mage/witch has appeared in the Stardew Valley. So what? Isaac meets mages almost every day, why should he be surprised by another one? The adventurer doesn't understand why there's such a dance and attention around Farmer at all. What's so special about them that almost all of his colleagues burned his ears? Making jelly and sorcery - well, great, but let them not bother him with trinkets and potions of dubious quality (Isaac knows about Farmer's abilities, but does not trust them, considering them self-taught).
Ah, a fellow wizard/witch? Lance is pleasantly surprised at Farmer's ability to devote both to farming and to brewing elixirs, which is also quite a delicate job. After all, put the wrong proportion in the cauldron and disaster is imminent. Like the old purple haired wizard, the gallant adventurer is a little worried about official permission for enchantment and spell casting from the Ministry, but knows that Farmer is an adult and will sort it out for themself.
Yay! Apples love the starfruit and raisins that Farmer makes themself and treats for them! Presents for Apples! And Apples' Friend does sorcery and brews potions, just like that slightly grumpy wizard! Apples can conjure forest magic too! Hooray for Apples, hooray for Farmer! Magic is all around, and they feel great. Oh, Apples want to give Farmer presents too! Mushrooms and flower that they make juice from to help people and Apples! Yay to Apples' Friend! *Meep!*
Hmm, strange. Alesia remembers exactly how her former teacher mentioned that their new member of the Adventurer's Guild is a farmer and adventurer. But not a word about magic, elixirs, or enchanting things. Maybe the sniper let that pass her ears, she has a mouthful of worries right now. No matter, she's glad Marlon is not left without magical support now that Farmer supplies him not only with provisions from the farm, but also with potions and enchanted rings/amulets. She is always glad to see noble and good-natured warriors.
To be honest, Olivia hadn't paid much attention to Farmer's unusual clothes or their home decor at first. Everyone has different tastes, and she even thought their pointy hats and capes were cute. She trusted the quality of goods that Farmer's produced at the farm, so she accepted the "elixir of serenity" without question, considering it just a homemade essential oil. The former Joja accountant would definitely be shocked when, after opening a few vials, magical chaos began to happen in her house. Well what did she want, Farmer had given her fair warning.
How is it Farmer was already ahead of Jadu in enchanting and elixir brewing skills! Such fine craftsmanship he hadn't seen even from the adepts in Castle Village! He had heard of the talented farmer from Stardew Valley, but he didn't expect that talent to extend to his realm as well. The young wizard wouldn't mind exchanging trinkets with them, as well as knowledge of enchantment. They have official permission from the Ministry, right?
Have mercy on poor Claire... She thought due to fatigue that the magical flow, flying books and running apples on the floor was her hallucination from lack of sleep. Farmer invited the cashier to spend the night in their house, as she missed the bus, and the girl thought that she would sleep well, not rushing to work in the morning. Except that the strange sounds and magic around her decided otherwise. At least the "vigor potion" helped the girl to be awake, even more awake than usual. She was afraid to ask about the origin of the potion, tho.
Oh dear, Farmer just spoils old Susan with their homemade cheeses, delicious pastries, and truffle oil! She is always happy to see cheerful young one, to praise their gifts, and to give them something in return. She may suspect something about magic and be a little afraid of it, but she realizes that Farmer is a kind soul, and that they won't slip her something poisoned. Especially after that plant growth potion that apparently her crops really liked. Susan's melons are so happy!

girls Dad!Tony stark x daughter!reader
summary: you come out to your dad.
Warnings: fear of coming out, is period mention a warning?
A/N: yall remember that camilla girl from my first day of school fic? So I brought her back, and her and y/n have been best friends since the day they met, but they start to feel a bit differently about each other. And y/n is around 14-15 here.
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
You had your suspensions about your sexuality from a very early age, in the 4th grade, you didn't really know what was going on. There was this new girl who you thought was beyond beautiful.
Her eyes, her smile, you thought everything about her was perfect. Sadly, she moved away soon after.
You, at age 10, thought it was just hormones given that you were getting closer to that age. Little did you know....
You decided to keep it to yourself, but you began to become more distant to those you loved. For reference, you hadn't been focused during the times you were in the garage. And tony, your father took notice of this sudden distance.
"Y/n," he called after noticing you were zoned out again.
"Hm"
"What have you not been telling me?" He asked, you sighed
"Ive just been distracted is all, nothing big." You said shrugging your shoulders. Tony knew it was something bigger, and he was going to figure it out. No matter how long it took, he just wanted his baby girl back.
*fast forward to when your older, 14-15*
You lived at the avengers tower now. And made some new friends. It was weird hanging out with people 3 times your age at first but you got used to it.
You walked into the kitchen, in search for a snack. You grabbed a bag of chips and began chowing down on it. When your phone started to ring, vibrating on the kitchen counter.
You looked at the screen to see who was calling, 'camilla❤️' it read. You smiled and answered.
"Hello? What do you want" you said (not in a mean way)
"Just wanted to call and see how you were doing." She replied in a soft tone, you loved hearing her voice.
You had started to develop a small crush on her. You were in the denial stage. you had thought you were bisexual. (Small head shaking) but you began to think of it as something more.
"You should come over later today" you said nervously, butterflys dancing in your stomach.
"Heck yeaahhh." You heard her cheer from the other end of the phone.
"Okay." You said smiling to yourself.
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
You heard the door bell ring a little while later, jumping up off of the couch and running to the door.
"Hi!" You both said in unison, hugging each other. She hugged you like she did every day, but this time it felt different. You shook it off as you heard tony call out.
"Whos at the door?"
"Its camilla" you responded just as he appeared from the corner. You grabbed her hand and ran to your room. You treasured that feeling so much.
You plopped down on your bed as she reached for the remote on the night stand. Turning on whatever movie she saw first.
You looked at her, admiring her beauty <3333
Either she was a very good actress, or you were just so blindly In love, you didn't notice how she showed signs of liking you as well.
She looked down at you, you immediately looking away. You decided that today you were going to tell her that you thought you liked girls.
You were beyond scared, what If she doesn't want to be friends with you anymore, you had known her since kindergarten. So that would break your heart.
"Y/n, whats wrong?" The young girl asked. You couldn't even focus on the movie, it was your favorite movie too.
"Cami......i-i think i like girls....." you said, mentally punching yourself in the gut for your hesitation.
"So im not the only lesbian in our friend group huh" you stared at her in disbelief. Your jaw dropping to the floor. She chuckled at this, and waved her hand in your face.
"Helloo? Earth to y/n, hehe" she giggled. Making you feel that blissful feeling of butterflys again.
"Y/n, i really like you" she confessed. Making you let out an audible gasp in shock. After a moment you spoke up
"I really like you too" you said, a smile dancing on your lips. You had finally done it, all the pressure, all the worrying, all gone. Wait, what about your dad?
"Crap, what am i gonna tell my dad?" You asked her as your mind began to race. You weren't listening to a single word she said, you were spiraling into a panic.
Untill you felt her grab the back of your neck with both hands and pull you close, pressing her lips against yours, for a moment you froze. Not sure what to do. But you eventually got it and kissed her back.
"Now are you gonna listen?" She asked pulling away from this gentle touch.
"Its still debatable but for the most part yeahhahah" you laughed, feeling stupid for not telling her earlier.
+•°+*°•++•°+*°•+
tony was working in the workshop when you walked in. It had been weeks since you told cam. And after a few dates, you officially had a girlfriend.
You walked into the workshop where he was currently working.
You sat down fiddling with your fingers. Nervs oozing into your stomach, and tony took note of this.
"Hey, whats wrong baby?" He asked you, taking your hand in his. Rubbing it with his thumb.
You sighed and gripped onto his hand muttering a small "come here" and lead him to the living room. And sat him down. You took a deep breath and just said it, as fast as you could. Cam had told you to just rip it off like a band-aid.
"I have a girlfriend." You said, lips parted, eyes looking straight down into the carpet. You looked up at him, expecting him to be upset but you saw the opposite. He looked at you with delicate eyes, a very soft expression on his face.
"Thats what you wanted to talk about" he said standing up, you following his movements. He took your hands once again.
You felt your eyes start to water. And tony saw this, giggled and pulled you into his arms.
"Are you about to be on your period or something?"
+•°+*°•+
Tony would be the most supportive father ever. He let you get one of those giant wall banners of the lesbian flag. He got you a pride bracelet, that you wore everywhere.
Imagine coming out to the avengers. In my mind it went down like this.
You were making noodles on the stove, when someone behind you had asked if you had a boyfriend yet. You turned around your bowl in hand.
"Well, im gay so...." imagine all the awkward staring all across the room. Tony would be like "yeahh! Thats my girl!"

My thoughts on Spy x Family Chapter 79
So, as I've been more active on the SXF fandom and specially here on Tumblr, I thought I could make a short (spoiler: it was everything but short) post of every new chapter coming out. It's not really an in depth analysis, rather a personal view on the chapter as someone who is amazed by this manga and everything related to it, so let's go.
Quick disclaimer, before we start. I'm doing this in English, as I believe it's easier to reach out to others (rather than in Portuguese, my mother language), so, if you encounter some grammar or spelling mistakes, it's probably due to me being a bilingual mess, sorry about that.
I absolutely loved the fact that it was Sharon who noticed about Yor being more communicative with them (and it was her the one doing a lot of other things I will be mentioning here later) which really surprised me. It's really fun to see how the relationship of Yor and her colleagues are improving (and considering chapter 1 and 2, that was a hell of an improvement, specially Camilla).
Okay, I relate to Yor a lot. Mainly because I recognize someone with low self-esteem when I see it. And the fact that she believes it's a bother to be more communicative with others and apologized has got me, but I'm glad Sharon said what I was thinking (girl, you are a precious baby, why a bother?). It's also nice to see Sharon worrying about Anya.
This part is absolutely awesome. Sharon asking if Yor was coming with them, leaving Millie and Camilla surprised. It was definitely a first, as Millie said, so it got me even sadder when I realized that Yor was not at all expected to be invited, which makes me believe it's something that has happened before. And it happened a lot, her being left out by her colleagues. Totally breaks my heart (cause I believe Yor is a peanut and deserve to be protected, if you haven't noticed it yet), so I'm really glad to see some improvement.
I love the fact that she worries about calling Loid. Specially because she doesn't need to pretend for him, okay, sure, she wants to appear normal, to not be seen as an assassin, but with Loid her guard is getting down and down, which is very good (ship wise). I truly believe that her calling him wasn't for the looks, but due to her actually worrying about him or Anya waiting for her to have dinner. It's really cute.
She is so adorable, what the actual heck? Okay, moving on.
Someone pointed this out (I don't know who, I'm really sorry) about their drink glasses. While Yor has a quite small cocktail-ish glass, Millie, Sharon, and Camilla have big beer cups, which, again, is a detail. However, I absolutely love Endo's sense of detailing on this manga, to show Yor's weak for booze in subtle ways.
Yor immediately blushing after Camilla simply asks if her and Loid are getting along is pure gold. I truly believe it is not solely her drunk blushing (since it goes all over her face and chest sometimes, while on this she is blushing only on her cheeks). Then, Millie realizing it, puts more fire on it (poor Yor, yet go Millie, at least this time).
And Yor coming up with something that I value her for thinking about, which is a child perception of intimacy in her home, is awesome.
It's cute how she thinks that about Loid, it's actually quite cute. Something NOT CUTE is Camilla and Millie still thinking crap about Yor's marriage. Specifically Millie, she wants to tell Yor to dump her hubby, why tho? Is everyone in freaking Berlint wanting Loid? (can I judge them? Yes! But also no!). Girly Yor, I'm ready to be jealous and defensive for you.
Yes, Yor, he is absolutely perfect, he does everything. Can we, please, talk about the "why don't you take a hot bath?" part? No? Overreacting much? Okay.
Please, Yor, no one believes you hate everything about Roid. Opsie, Loid. It's pretty much the opposite, actually. Who are you trying to fool, girl?
I believe this bit is self-explanatory. I laughed so much my tummy hurt. No much else to say here. The incoherency of Yor's drunk mind had me rolling.
LOOK. AT. THAT. MAN! Woof. Is this how Loid is 24/7 on Yor's head? Cause, girl, I'm worried about you. Truly. Other than that, can we please talk about how comic is her with that knife? How non-threatening it looks? (I mean, kinda, look at those eyes).
No comment, they are being so nice here. I'm surprised by Millie, mostly. They can be good friends, it just takes a while and more intimacy to be built around them, I believe, hope I'm not wrong.
Poor Yor, not even a welcome home kiss? That's a valid statement, Sharon. You rock! Sharon is the number 1 twiyor fan and nothing can change my mind about it.
Her mind is so fried. Again, poor Yor!
Too many things happening here! First, Yor's colleagues recognizing she is actually fun to be around and probably Sharon suggesting that they should invite her out again some time. I'm truly happy about the end of this chapter, her co-workers wise, because It's such a big improvement. Yor would not communicate with them, and they would be so bitter with her (specially Millie and Camilla). Look how far we've got! That's some major improvement and I'm proud.
Now, to the most important thing ever of this chapter, the kiss attempt! Okay, a little before that, when Loid asked if she had a good time. Am I overreacting to the bare minimum, or there is something else about him? He is so adorable and such a great husband (for the mission). Look at that confused little face.
I bet all the 25 cents I have that Endo was cracking up drawing this face. I laughed way more than I should, oh, poor Yor
It's been 79 chapters, my folks, and we got a tiny bit of happiness. They are so adorable! Look at them? Kiss NOW. One thing I noticed is how big Loid is compared to Yor, look at his body, at that hand size difference. That's… Quite nice, it's all I'm going to say about it. (Is it hot in here? No? Okay).
The second bar is up and rising!
Even though Yor has a tremendous high tolerance to pain, I would not be surprised If she woke up to a big bulge in her head in the morning. And worse, probably she won't even remember a thing, which takes us to the scale zero again. Damn it, it's hard to see these two idiots realizing they are so in love for each other. However, this chapter was all my heart needed. We begged for twiyor, Endo laughed at us and prolonged our suffering. I want more of that, sir, if you don't mind.
My hope is Anya bringing up this on the breakfast morning. That would be quite interesting.
That's all, folks. It ain't much, but it's honest work. This turned out to be way longer than I expected, but also incredibly fun! Hope you guys had fun reading as well.

10 Fandoms, 10 Characters, 10 tags
Basic rules: choose 10 fandoms that you are part of/support, and choose a favorite character from each of those. Then, tag ten folks!
Tagged by: @miqojak Ty for the tag!!! Sorry it took a hot minute.
Tagging: Uhhhhh, @terminuspride, @fair-fae, @alannah-corvaine, @voidsentprinces, @healerstail, @ahollowgrave, @alicelufenia, @starrysnowdrop, @briar-ffxiv, @driftward
Now to the list! In no real particular order cause I really just drift from thing to thing.
Penny Polendina (RWBY)
I love my quirky little robot girl. She's the absolute best, a brilliant fighter and very emotionally intelligent. She is such a cheerful ideal, someone who tries to see the best in people. She knows when they've gone too far and isn't afraid to stand up for what she wants! Which is the whole core of her little arc. Being a weapon given a soul and all. It is a beautiful story of a little girl who cares so much and wishes to be able to just... be that cheerful little girl without the weight of the world. Its just so sweet.
Honorable mentions: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Oscar, Neo
2. Kafka (Star Rail)
In all honesty she's the reason I'm even playing Star Rail. She is such a mysterious character, with a voice to die for. Yes, Hoyoverse characters tend to be rather shallow (that's a gacha game for ya), but Kafka just hits everything I love in a character. Her character short when she was fully released is... *chef's kiss* just amazing. I will admit, every time she does her ult in game I join her in saying "Boom." ^_^;
Honorable Mentions: March 7th, Stelle (Trailblazer F), Seele, Bronya, Jingliu
3. Lyse (FFXIV)
Shocker, the leading lady of Stormblood is still my favorite? Honestly, all three of the ladies from Stormblood are the trifecta of favorites. (Lyse, Fordola and Yotsuyu) The various storylines that cause them to interact is such a delight. I wasn't too bothered by the whole "Yda was my sister" thing, cause well, Yda was barely in the game post ARR... And like, it was always Yda and Papalymo. Never just one or the other. So when Lyse got the chance to shine and actually take center stage, I was smitten. She's tough, gentle, sassy, collected, brilliant, a bit silly, and more. Such a well written character. I'm still upset she left the scions tbh. Could've added a little hair color diversity by a little bit. :P
Honorable mentions: Aymeric, Hilda, Erenville, Zero, Y'shtola, Thancred, Ryne, Gaia, Minfillia
4. Gideon Nav (The Locked Tomb)
Ok, seriously, this series grabbed me by the throat and would not let me go. Gideon is such a lovely first viewpoint (and I adore all the viewpoint characters). She takes no shit, talks a lotta shit, and can fight a whole heck more shit. The way she interacts with Harrow at first, then the other Necromancers and their Cavaliers is such a delight. Sure you hate Harrowhark so much Gideon, why are you obeying her command to not speak a single word to literally anyone else, hmmmmmmmmmmm?????? Also the gay panic that Gideon seems to have on the regular is just. Great. I don't want to speak too much more on Gideon, cause this series is just great and you should read it.
Honorable mentions: Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Nona, Camilla Hect, Ianthe Tridentarius, Coronabeth Tridentarius.
5. Raiden Ei (Genshin Impact)
Last time it was Eula, now it is Raiden Ei. It is always a toss up between them, if I'm being honest. Ei is just... such a sad puppy? XD Its the best way to describe her. So trapped in her own past and trying to do what would best preserve her sister's memory... She's just SAD guys. Yeah, she may not be the best governing force for her nation, and she indirectly killed a lotta people with her retreating away and leaving a puppet behind, but we the Traveler showed up and fixed things! Also she gets two amazing boss fights, I honestly wish I could do the story one again but I ain't working through Mondstat and Liyue again. >.>;
Honorable mentions: Eula, Alhaithem, Deya, Kamisato Ayaka, Zhongli, Nahida, Navia, the Wanderer, Wriothsley
6. Karlach (Baldur's Gate 3)
KARLACH IS THE BEST AND SHE IS SO SWEET AND LOVELY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO BACK TO HELL OR DIE OR [redacted]. She is such a lovely goofball that even shows platonic love if you don't romance her and I really think that is great! Her arc tying into Gortash was delightful, bringing her much more into the story instead of just a bystander like a couple of them. (Like out of all the origin companions Astarion barely has any connection to any of the major players in the story, he's pretty self contained tbh.) Her sweetness, the way she says she's gonna eat dirt if you leave her camp, and her cheerful demeanor are just.... Amazing. I'm really running out of words for Karlach cause she is my favorite. I'm gonna have to start BG3 up again and actually play my romance run of her soon.
Honorable mentions: Shadowheart, Wyll, Astarion, Lae'zel, Dammon, Orin, Jaheira, Minthara, Isobel, Aylin
7. The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Ok, a bit of a cop out since, you know, they are the star of the show. BUT COME ON. The Doctor in their various iterations have been so enjoyable. My personal favorite is Tennet's 10, but Capaldi's 12 is a strong second. Its just a good show to binge at times. There are a lottta good episodes, a few really bad ones, but overall its a good time. The scene at the end of the special where they rescue Gallifrey is still one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise. And hell, the Archeologist is based (loosely) on them, so how can I not include them?
Honorable mentions: DONNA NOBLE, Rose Tyler, Clara Oswald, Bill Potts, Me, Strax
8. Xion (Kingdom Hearts)
Have I mentioned I love tragic characters? Xion is literally the definition of tragedy, with all the problems with her just existing lol. Her presence in 358/2 Days really made the game for me. Roxas was kinda bland and having someone that was similar in age (like Sora, Riku and Kairi were) to interact with made it all that much better. AND SHE GETS THE HAPPY ENDING. Eventually. Boy is it a long road, but that's Kingdom Hearts for ya.
Honorable Mentions: Kairi, Namine, Riku, Sora, Aqua, Terra, Master Xehanort, Isa, Lea
8. Lucina (Fire Emblem)
I really wanna pick someone else in all honesty, but Fire Emblem has a worse problem than Hoyoverse games in their bit characters. :/ Lucina is a strong character that really delighted me when I played Awakening. She's such a surprise that it really helps make that Fire Emblem my favorite. She's got a good supporting cast too, with Robin and her dad Chrom, but Awakening was really her game. Chrom was kinda there just to be her dad lol
Honorable mentions: Robin, Chrom, Ike, Mist, Soren, Sumia, Erika, Marisa, Lyon, Elincia
9. Trevor Belmont (Castlevania)
Full disclosure, I have not played his game, in fact the only two castlevania's I have played both feature non Belmont's as the lead players (Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclasia). But the way Trevor is in the show, OH BOY. He is rough, he is blunt, he is smart, he is SOOOO dumb, he is loyal, he is a fighter, he never gives up, HE IS JUST GREAT. He's also one of my biggest Bi panics when he shows how much of a badass he is in episode, I think, 4 or 5 or later? Its been a hot minute since I watched that series. When he first uses the flail weapon that I forget the name of.
Honorable mentions: Shanoa, Jonathan Morris, Charlotte Aulin, Sypha Belnades, Alucard, Dracula
10. Aigis (Persona)
Aigis is a super cutie and I love her interactions with the female protagonist. I really wish P3 wasn't such a long game and Aigis actually showed up a little earlier. She's just a doll! I do need to try and find a copy (or emulate) FES to play the storyline with her as the lead singer. Its just so rough to get thru P3 I just lose motivation. T.T I've made it to the vacation part with the female lead, like, three times and no further cause my motivation tanks. WHICH IS WEIRD CAUSE THAT'S WHEN YOU MEET AIGIS. Its just too long for me I guess. XD
Honorable mentions: Teddie, Female lead P3, Male lead P4, Yukari Takeba, Mitsuru Kirijo, Akihiko Sanada, Fuuka Yamagishi, Shinji Aragaki, Junpei Iori, Chidori Yoshino, Elizabeth, Theodore
Not gonna lie, kinda struggled to find a full 10 franchises to pull a character from. My mind just goes blank when asked my favorite character from X place. Names escape me and everything. XD But as you can see, I love robot girls, strong girls, mysterious girls, tragic girls, a fail man, and traveling weirdo.
#the rare leigh#oooooooof#this took like..... 2 hours lol#joking it was only like 1.#but still lol#ty for the tag Jak <3#ty for the tag Mimble <3

Book Review: We Will Devour the Night by Camilla Andrew
Full disclosure: I received an eARC of this book from the author and this represents my honest opinion. Spoilers for When the Stars Alight are present.
I started We Will Devour the Night while moving across the continental United States. Which sounds crazy (spoilers: it was) but I REALLY wanted to dive back into the world Camilla Andrew created. Set twenty years after When the Stars Alight, the book hits the ground running. So, if you’ve not read the first book yet, I highly recommend doing so before starting We Will Devour the Night. Bonus points if you get to Andrew’s The Sanguine Sorceress.
At the end of When the Stars Alight, a lot had happened. Laila had rejected Darius. Darius had killed his brother. Lyra’s uncle/Laila’s father figure had to be sacrificed to permanently banish Darius’s father. Amira dropped the in-world inequivalent of nuclear bombs on Darius’s home country. Dr. Emika Hariken (minor character, love of my life), uses her chimera monster powers to eat a whole bunch of people. It isn’t important to know that last part; I just really love Dr. Hariken, no matter how many legs she has and I want everyone to know that. (She doesn’t even show up in this book!)
Anyway, that’s where we’ve left off. We find Laila Rose catching stars on the beach and being told her ex-lover has dropped in for a visit (awkward). It’s been twenty years since Mortos opened up to the wider world and Laila’s mom, Amira, is concerned that chaos magic and drugs (we’ll just call it drugs) are being smuggled through to Soleterea. While Darius spends the book trying to suss out who and how stuff is being smuggled, Amira gently “suggests” to Laila that she should go forth and be a good little politician. The Rose legacy is in danger. Without Laila, it dies off and Amira absolutely wants to control control control. Off Laila goes to Mortos because, oof, a major famine is going on. Wonder what caused that shrug emoji and question mark. Absolutely, she and Darius are going to cross paths and that’s dangerous for two-lovers who are star-crossed. We get some new characters who highlight the other side of this world. Mortals get more representation. As a mortal myself, I call that a diversity win. It’s Andrew’s second installment in her Essence of the Equinox trilogy so while we still get richly woven descriptions, there are new things to admire and reflect on. In addition to the familiar environments of Soleterea and Mortos, a rainforest is introduced as an important setting. Elina Panja is our anchor here. We get to experience the rainforest not only as a humid, oppressive sprawl of crushing green but also through her eyes. Elina’s rainforest breathes and embraces her as she acknowledges the power it holds. It reminds me very much of my favorite scene in When the Stars Alight where Lyra’s home in the forest wasn’t just a forest but a part of Lyra. Andrew effortlessly continues to spread a well-constructed quilt over the story and transforms a book into a world. Despite this, I am finding myself wishing we had more orientation. This world is becoming larger and the lack of names for geography, terrain, and water features does take me out of the environment once in a while. For a lot of readers, I imagine that this won’t hinder the overall enjoyment. It’s just a little thing I’ve begun to notice in my own experience. Like the environments, the characters continue to be delightfully constructed. We get new faces but Elina Panja is an easy favorite. She loves her family, is strongly rooted in her goals and priorities, and is effortlessly kind (and this kindness persists even when she is setting boundaries, which I adore). A familiar face from book one returns and Andrew keeps you guessing as to what the actual heck has happened (spoilers: you won’t find out until the very end and oh gosh I internally screamed at the revelation). Since this is the second book in a trilogy, Andrew has the hard work of trying to pick up the momentum of book one while setting up book three. For the most part, it’s successful. There is no shortage of tantalizing threads but I am a little concerned that we’re going to get eleventh hour decisions from Laila (and maybe others but Laila is my primary concern) that don’t match up with who we’ve gotten to know. But Andrew has earned more than enough good will from me to dive in, trusting and exciting
So, the big question: should you read Camilla Andrew’s We Will Devour the Night? Yeah. Especially if you read the first book and enjoyed it. After finishing it, I immediately needed to consume everything else the Essence of the Equinox series had to offer. I couldn’t get enough. I volunteered to read and give a review of this book because I wanted to read more as soon as possible. When the Stars Alight prepared the meal and set the table. We Will Devour the Night serves an extravagant feast.
Come hungry.
Stars: 4/5
TLDR: Messy politics, messy families, and messy love but Andrew balances the hell out of it all while building up to a heart-wrenching finale for everyone.

since you're caught up on the Locked Tomb, I thought I'd send some asks your way because I'm kind of curious:
1) I've gathered Cam and Pal are your favorite characters, but do you any particular favourite moments/quotes of them? Or just why you love them as characters in general?
2) any plot twists you didn't see coming but liked?
3) any dark horse characters that grew on you over the series or that you'd want to see more of?
EEEE I SURE DID!! Okay, warning for anyone that is not caught up with it or plans to read it, that there are going to be spoilers below. You have been warned!!
Yes, they are my favourites.😔 Friends specifically told me to read the books because they are "very much my flavour" and they were right. Which is very rude of them, tbqh :/// As for the why, it's a lot of things, I think. From a character design perspective, I've always been a sucker for scholarly types like Pal, and you can never go wrong with short hair and double swords like Cam. I like that they have a decent amount of contrast and are quite different from each other in some ways while also being soooo alike in others. From a thematic perspective, all the bits and parallels around devotion, identity, and responsibility. How just by knowing someone, we add 'indelibly to their weight'. How this is explored both as a positive and negative thing. How just by knowing someone else - dare I say, to tame or be tamed by another 👀- can change us irreversibly. How burdening those we care about is something we have to come to terms with, and that being burdened can in and of itself be an act of care. How these themes are exacerbated and mixed with plurality and merging. The ever important question of 'where do you end and i begin'? For moments and quotes, a lot of my favourite things about them are just how they interact with one another (or with other characters). The sort of relationship where words often aren't necessary. How so much of their connection is conveyed in actions. "Tell Cam... never mind, she knows what to do." and the "what to do" is her collecting the fragments of his skull off the floor?? that she glues back together with her own hands?? then travelled millions or billions of light years to meet with the one person that can pull his soul back into it??? Her carrying him, despite the risk and harm it poses to herself, because he doesn't have a vessel anymore??? Pal asking Nona to "give this to Cam" and it's a kiss to the back of her hand???? Sick!! Twisted!! I demand financial compensation for damages!!!! Cam had every right to go sit in the bathtub about that!!! What the hell man!!! But I would be remiss not to mention the conversations they have across the voice recorder when they can't speak face to face, the co-fronting/synergy thing that happens when the protect Nona at the beach, and of course: "Life is too short and love is too long."
I'll admit I was spoiled a bit to some things going in so that skews this answer a bit. There were certainly some things I predicted incorrectly but then was like "OF COURSE THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENED, HOW COULD I HAVE ASSUMED DIFFERENTLY". I was not expecting that many people to die in the first book tbh. What happened to the Fourth and Fifth houses hit particularly hard. Was not expecting Gideon to find a decapitated head in Harrow's closet. I think the most surprises I had were in the second book though. Kept asking myself what the heck was going on. The narrator reveal was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Like, I kind of figured that was the case but I wasn't expecting that to be how we found out. Camilla showing up somehow out of nowhere?? The full extent of Harrow and Gideon's origins had me at a loss for words. Also the epilogue leading into Nona had me soooooo confused.
Yes. I absolutely adored Augustine. Big fan of his whole vibe; i miss him. Also really liked Magnus, Abigail, and Ortus in the second book. Especially them stepping up and being the Responsible Adults™ Harrow never really had, but always deserved. Also Polyamory Win with both whatever Pyrrha and Dulcie had respectively going on with Cam and Pal aha. Very big fan of Dulcinea in general. From her appearance in htn to popping up in The Unwanted Guest. I don't know how we could see more of her, but I would not be complaining if we did. Muir is really good at characterization tho, i don't know that there have really been any characters I've actively disliked. 🤔
Thank you for asking! I'd love to know some of your fave characters/plot twists too if you feel like sharing!! no pressure tho uwu
#my current crack theory is that cam and pal got the 'u' in 'paul' from dulcie#that's why they were asking if 'she' would see them in the river#and why even tho it was the two of them as paul it was also something unfamiliar to nona. but again. total crack theory LOL#weird situationship characters of all time#honorary mention to pal writing bodice ripper fanfic on the wallpaper to keep himself sane while he was in the river for 8 months#where is that short story tamsyn? i know you have it; hand it over#enough rambling from me 💦#ask#asks#the locked tomb#misstrashchan

Alright Muppet Baby headcanons about Afghan and Baskerville, let's go!
~Both of them are really clingy to Rowlf
~They're mostly just side/background characters, but are focused on every once in a while
~I like to think that when Rowlf's singing a song (or any other song segments) they'll just suddenly pop up outta nowhere and provide as back up singers
~Baskerville would probably hang out with Rizzo a lot (when he's not with Rowlf)
~Same with Afghan and Skeeter. She'd like Summer too
~I don't know how clear I've made it now how close they are to Rowlf, but like 99.9% of the time they're on screen they are right by his side
~Rowlf is constantly annoyed at them of course. They bother him and invade his space 24/7, so why wouldn't he be
~Afghan will ask Miss Nanny all the time if they can have pizza/pizza bites for lunch or snack time
~Baskerville will be a little smug rat sometimes and do stuff to purposefully annoy Rowlf (for ex. he'll lean against him when knowing that the guy likes his personal space and just do other little stuff like that)
~Baskerville isn't much bigger than Rizzo
~Baskerville is also babied a lot by the others because of how innocent he looks, but in actuality he's very mischievous. He usually gets away with a lot of stuff he does because of his look
~Afghan is a tomboy like Skeeter
~She's also one of the more taller babies. She's around Fozzie's size
~Baskerville and Fozzie have a light rivalry with each other because both try to be the funnyman of the group (This is reference to that one Muppet Show episode where they were holding auditions and Baskerville auditioned as a comedian, and Fozzie kept throwing him off stage)
~Miss Piggy loves to dress Afghan up, always saying how perfect her fluffy fur would look with this and that
~Like Gonzo, Baskerville has wore a dress before at some point
~He's also been chased by Camilla more than once because he's just one of those kids that likes to annoy everyone for the heck of it, including her
~Afghan on the other hand is quite a charmer
Whew, that was a lot! I don't think I have anymore so I'll just stop here :o)
#I'm not even that into Muppet babies#I think it's cute and all#But I just wanted SOME kind of version of them and this was the first thing I thought of and just kinda went with it#Don't get me wrong though again I think it's really cute#And do like it a good bit otherwise I wouldn't have done this at all#Heck maybe I do like it more than I think#I saw someone make their own Muppet Baby versions of the Electric Mayhem and absolutely adored#Seeing that inspired me to make these guys#Okay I'll stop rambling now#Afghan Hound#Baskerville the Hound#Rowlf the Dog#The Muppets#:o)

Thoughts on BKO so far -
It's so refreshing to see a protag care about his mom and having his mom care about them in return :')
She gives him money through letters - like pocket money - and writes to him to ask how he's doing, Sagi even returns her affection so much that him caring about his mom will later be a plot point lol
I'm surprised that the game was still released in 2023 without changes made to the script, Guillo calling Geldoblame a fop and a "prissy fellow"? Could be chalked up to Guillo being in general a sarcastic tin can, but still it's... well, it has nearly been 18 years, and I must say, what was acceptable then might not be seen as "acceptable" nowadays.
Milly, despite being obviously the mole and oddly looking upset when some events are revealed, is well integrated to the plot, she often talks (nonsense), talks to NPCs (with various cutscenes demonstrating how she wasn't lying when she said she's a rich kid!), and has lines durings various bosses, from shit talking a young!Giacomo (despite us taking a beating each time he pops up!) - the one who is basically the former protag's nemesis - to being humiliated by a lava fish...
Bar the comments about Geldoblame, Guillo is basically the brains in the trio and the one who's here to voice the player's thoughts whenever some NPC, usually the totes not shady Verus "I know where you live and where your mom is, but it just shows how much I care about you, it's totally not creepy nor means I had you under my careful watch for a long time and now sends you to deal with various life threatening situations" says something that, well, that NPC isn't supposed to know. Heck, my fave line from Guillo is basically a mix of "how the hell do YOU know that?".
Unlike what I felt was the epic of gathering McGuffins and discovering places to save the world - with a traitor twist - I feel like BKO is more about Sagi being framed for X or Y reasons, and manipulated to be sent to fight against bosses we are scripted to lose again + rinse'n'repeat.
The game seems more dialogue heavy with several back and forths to the same place (the terrorist subplot...), but it's not that much of a hassle since, for now, the intrigue is interesting enough and, well, the OST/aesthetics are pleasing and pleasant enough.
That, and the trillions of NPCs who just exist to insult you because you're a peasant, or gush about their captain of the knights in less than NOA-friendly ways lol, the ones who happily exploit you charging 400 gold for something that was basically free in the first game, or the bajillion sidequests.
Also I love the "flashback in the really far far away past" to basically explain what happened in the world 1k years ago -
Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel, both to Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings and the Lost Oceans, but also, has those 1k years ago flashbacks that basically tell/explain you what happened a long time ago, and how the events of legends - muddled as they were - happened.
By virtue of being a prequel, we know how it ends, it's basically a story that ends up in a tragedy, if Sagi'n'Milly are truly Melodia's parents, then they are Canas'd (they managed to survive to a world ending plot, but die to a flu).
Lyude was treated like shit by his half siblings Vallye and Skeed?
Oh wait, wasn't Sagi the one who told them (and their mom) that dad was basically cheating on her (forgetting his son's bday!) which later gave them a new sib?
Like, dude, for sure Lyuvann (the dad) should have kept his pole in his pants, but why giving the reveal to Camilla (the wife) that her husband was cheating on her with a woman named Almarde - with the holograms and all lol - in front of the kids?
Of course their first reaction is "my father would never", but when Almarde (the mistress) is hired to take care of Lyude - who's their sibling and popped up... well, not from Camilla, like...
They know the supposed nanny was Dad's mistress, and now they have a half-sib and the nanny looks after him? Hello?
Now it recontextualises Skeed shooting Almarde in BKEWLO, was it only because she was threatening them (when they were ready to shoot Lyude) or because he might have wanted to settle old grudges? Hell, even Lydue's mind-probing by the giant monster that looks like a willy and that creates nightmares had his half siblings tell him he never deserved to be loved, was it just a nightmare created by that monster, or...
Something his sibs really told him?
If Sagi never told them the truth, would Lyude's life have been better? idk. Surely not, Mintaka sucks after all, and maybe they would have been killed like the rest of the Azhani during Savyna's operation.
Speaking of which...
Savyna becomes the cold and aloof person who only knows how to kill... because we, the protags of BKO, either kill her dad in front of her, or let him die from the wounds we gave him as eldritch mist surrounds him... in front of her.
Shanath was an ass - but killing/or having him die in front of his child? Well, we know what happens next, she tries to join the sekrit d4rk militia, only to be inspired by Guillo out of anybody to "never forget that death is everywhere" - but hey, someone noticed that her animations when she deals a punch are oddly similar to Guillo whenever they use their, uh, claws/punch/piercing hands to kill enemies.
The prequel also has us beat Giacomo three times with apparent ease (when it's anything but!), prompting to despise Sagi, but most important, seek power at all costs... we know later on that he will become a test subject for his crazed dad and become obsessed with the "Magnus of Life", aka his dad's artificially created... being (with pointy ears!!) who can grant tremendous power.
1k years flashback wise... we basically follow the story of people who slowly grow more and more desperate until they feel like their only solution is to make a pact with evil entities/demons - known and feared as such by people! - to defeat another eldritch... thing.
Point being, let it be Sagi's story, the protags of the "1k years ago FB", Almarde's or even Savyna and Giacomo, we know how those stories end : they end up in tragedy.
But it also helps to recontextualise the cast's actions : Sagi's desire for revenge against Shanath (and possibly ending him himself!) ends up with Savyna being the cold and broken person we see in BKEWLO - who was ordered by Geldoblame to slaughter civilians - but Kalas doesn't threaten Giacomo after their final fight, leaving him the time to tell his two followers to basically help him save the world.
The desperate people from 1k years ago jumped to conclusions and wanted, again, quick revenge in their despair? They made a deal with demonic forces. Kalas... did the very same thing.
Short story long story : I like prequels when they both develop and give a new light to events we know, and I like tragedies lol
For the more midling points...
The OST doesn't feel as grandiose and loveable than the first game's - sure Chaotic Dance 2 is fun but it's a Giacomo theme! - so far nothing really made me pause and go "wow" save for Le Ali del Principio - obviously - the boss battle themes aren't mind blowing.
And the most negative aspect...
The battle system - it's different and less... static, with bits or real time picks and decisions but it feels much more simpler, there's no defensive phase, your combos are nothing as exciting as lining 9 cards from 1 to 9 or making pairs or what not, and worst of all, you can't even cook rice while fighting anymore :(
I liked the sheer stupidity of protecting yourself with a tea cup, a slice of tuna and a camera anymore, or create a "baked potato" by mixing fire and water magic but now we can't have those stupid combos anymore.
Maybe I'll grow to love it more as I play!
#baten kaitos origins#the main characters are more involved in the story#than the previous game#can we stop having scripted losses lol#I have the feeling I haven't defeated any boss that wasn't basically a wild monster#curses the plot mandatory losses fights#sagi starts as his mom's son but becomes more and more involved and pissed as time goes#those plot mandated losses represent his frustration at not being able to save people and kick the bad guys' asses#I can't wait to play the next chapter that's basically : and the bad guys destroy a forest

With Kate, Charles, and now Camilla out of commission, his face should be everywhere representing the stability and continuity of the monarchy, especially as its future. That it’s not is pretty mystifying, I’d love to know the conversations going on behind closed doors.
That's just it. If he were William Smith, working in logistics at Amazon with a sick wife and no full-time child care for his three kids, then, heck yes, any thinking person would be in favor of his needing some time off, and certainly a great deal of flexibility in his schedule. But he has so much help at his disposal, and if Catherine is recovering nicely, he needs to go to work. Consistently.
Except they have both been "easing into their roles" since they got married. That is getting stale.
These sassy spokesmen really aren’t helping the Waleses.
It's William's "incandescent rage" in PR form. Maybe Kate softened their statements but she's MIA so William's inner dialogue is coming out unfiltered.
"His focus is on his work and not on social media," a spokesman says.
I'm a communications director and manage PR/crisis communications for a large organization in the U.S. And every time I read something from the Kensington communications camp lately, I roll my eyes. They get themselves in deeper every time there's an update.
My highly unsolicited and unwanted advice: Walk it all back, be transparent, and try to salvage this debacle. And if you can't do that: Just. Shut. Up. They're doing William and Catherine no favors, and their snarkiness makes them look so incredibly inept.
I am just a graduate from Kardashian School of Pap Walks and I am completely appalled by this. Kris Jenner would never agree with this clapback.
The insane thing to me is that they (KP) were doing a great job with this all of last year??
When the H&M doc came out, all the royals were smart enough to make sure they were consistently seen working and not commenting on their personal lives. How the hell did they forget that PR 101 principle so fast…
Poor leaders often hire other poor leaders. The rot comes from the top.
What work?
KP keeps digging their grave. Is it so hard to be polite and not hostile and combative?
William doesn't listen to anyone.
It’s less about when she’s coming back and more about the fact they’ve said absolutely nothing about why she disappeared beyond “abdominal surgery,” which is so vague that it’s clearly a half-truth. I think many people thought there would be more transparency, and the fact that there’s not just leaves people to speculate. If it was something benign, there’d be no reason not to make a statement, but they’ve gone so long that nobody will believe them now even if they said “oh she just had her appendix out” or something like that. They say “abdominal surgery” and a lot of people took that to mean “stomach pumped” (which I gotta admit, wouldn’t be difficult to believe knowing what previous married-in royal women have gone through).

Wait I need to know which tsh character you like and why? 👀
Hello friend!!!
I was thinking about this question while I was at work for hours and now have time to answer!
As a disclaimer, I am roughly 1/3 of the way through the book, and since I'm listening to it rather than reading it, I can't cite exact moments, but I'll do the best I can.
I have a crush (questionable status now lmao) on one Henry Winter.
Initially it was because he fits one of my personal types right off. Tall, dark, quiet, prone to shutting himself in the library. And we're told by Richard (a pretty unreliable narrator, really) that people say Henry is scary or frightening and strange. And he's sort of painted this way at Richard's first meeting with him. Aloof, and a bit suspicious or skeptical of Richard's sudden intrusion into the little group.
That sort of behavior always, for me anyway, sets up a mass of potential. Where will this character go from here? I found myself wanting more back story on him. Which we get in pieces from various avenues, mainly Richard and Bunny.
And as we go along, Henry starts to reveal himself to be the most likely to talk to Richard. He's definitely still aloof and quiet, but of the 5, Henry seems to offer Richard the most conversation (well, aside Bunny, but more on him in a minute), and Henry seems the most inclusive of Richard. Charles and Camilla are superficially nice and pleasant, and Francis so far in the telling has been oddly present but also fluttering on the outside of the narrative in my opinion. It's like we know facts about everyone, but Richard has had the most one on one time with Henry and Bunny, so it feels like he knows them best.
Henry feels, to me, the most genuine of the group. He doesn't pretend to be anything other than quiet, reclusive, and tolerant or fond of the others. He takes good care of Camilla when she injures her foot and even her brother is too nervous help, he saves Richard's life when he has pneumonia, and he apologizes for Bunny's bullshit regarding money. He is genuine in the way he speaks to Richard, whereas it feels like Charles, Camilla, and Francis have little of sustenance to say or just feel off somehow. Henry's genuineness is really magnified when you consider Bunny's. Bunny is genuine...genuinely, unabashedly rude, snide, and honestly cruel. And no one else that I can recall has really done much to explain Bunny or chastise him.
I think, perhaps, Henry's moments with Richard stick out so much because he was painted as the scariest one, and that he doesn't talk as much as the others do. So when he does, you pay attention.
I'm currently at the part where he is explaining why they all were about to cut and run to Argentina, without Richard and Bunny. Listening to the explanation is what made me post earlier about him being a special kind of obsessed. It's a very discomforting scene that took place in the woods, even without the accidental murder of the nameless man. I love how it's being told. The events are as unclear as the characters' recollections. But it made me sort of...step back on my initial feelings of Henry. Which I know is pretty funny and ironic considering the way the book opens and you immediately know he's complicit of a murder. Maybe it helps that Bunny sucks that I was keen to like Henry 😂
I think one of the saddest things so far, is that even though he doesn't outright say or even think it during his internal dialogue, Richard is clearly hurting over the fact that none of them were going to say goodbye or tell him anything. He likes these people a lot, for better or worse, and I could sense how abandoned and betrayed he feels at being left out of the aftermath. Heck, maybe it'll turn out he's jaded about being left out of the Bacchanae; I wouldn't put it past him what with the theme of this book. And we know how much he likes everyone seeing as how he covered for them. I get the sense that Henry was perfectly surprised at this, and is regarding Richard a new light.
I'm interested to see how the book progresses, and how we get to the point at the opening of the story. Will I start to care about Bunny more? Will I care at all? What other dark secrets are going on with this group?
Long story short, Henry Winter was exactly my vibe for a while. I can't say he still is, but there's still 1,000 minutes left of this tale. I love a morally gray cast. There is little to nothing to like about any of these people, but somehow I'm still drawn in.

The Owl House Finale Review: Watching and Dreaming: So Long and Thanks for All The Magic
Hello all you happy people. Here we are. After reviewing all of season and the previous two finale specials… we're here. The end of the Owl House. It had a heck of a journey going from a fairly promising and fun show I missed several episodes of … to one of the best animated shows i've seen and one of my personal faviorites period. It's a true masterpiece. It may have some rough spots from disney cutting the finale off at the knees, but even with that Dana Terrace and her stalwart crew created a truly one of a kind show.
I also feel something I didn't think i'd have at the end of this series.. hope. While I admit I was annoyed at disney for only starting to see the show's popularity after gutting it… it resulted in the best kind of revenge. MILLIONS of views for each special in their free youtube release and at the time of this writing the show became Disney's 3rd most popular show period in DIsney+. For scale the #1 show? The Simpsons. And I feel it has the potetial to pass it which is not an easy task. It is very hard to kill the simpsons. Many have tried, none have succeeded.
The show's final three episodes brought the fandom out in huge force, and only caused it to GROW, something that rarely happens as a show is near it's end. The show is more popular than it's ever been.
It means that once Dana is ready.. a sequel, prequel, interquel, whatevertheywantquel is all but assured, and wether that's via another series or a graphic novel or even an in universe book like Amphibia got, the franchise really has a bright future ahead. Sure Disney could ignore this.. but even they aren't THAT stupid, and that threshold. At the very least the odds of the show getting an art of book like ducktales at some point just shot up exponetnially and i'd dearly love that given the show's attention to background detail. It's clear we'll get something more somehow and i'm pumped for it.
But with Dana taking a well deserved rest, disney taking 80 years to do a lot of things, this is the end for now.. and even if it's the end for keeps, it was a hell of a note to go out on. It took me several days to get to it just because I was so … not ready for it to be over, but once I got there the end.. was truly satisfying. Not without some bumps, but truly great. So let's go under the cut one lass time through the door.. and into the boiling isles.
The Power of Three
For starters the finale decided to mostly zero in on our main trio. The Hexasquad get plenty to do sure, but they feel kinda shuttled to the side. I'm mixed about this: on the one hand given how personal a foe belos was for Hunter, it does feel like a bit of a cheat that he gets no real final confrontation with him or even get to join in stomping him into even more paste than he already was. They get the intro which is DEEPLY disturbing and I had to pause multiple times just because it was a LOT to sit through, and amity gets both helping Luz realize what's going on and later freeing everybody, but as a whole their just kinda there rescuing the people from the archives. It's not a bad thing and it has some great moments, like Camilla rallying all of them with Glyphs, the parent reunions, and Hunter finding someone was waiting for him.. but it feels genuinely like since they decided to have the final battle just be the power trio veruss belos, with Rahne helping in the final act of it, they had no idea what to do with the rest of the leads in any signifigant way. It's where the time crunch shows the most as important moments like Hunter getting justice for flapjack, Camilla getting a proper meeting with eda and king (though the silent moment is nice) or the Collector's decision to leave are all just kinda relegated to narration. It's clear they ran out of time and just had to do what they could, and it's only feels so off because the first two specials packed so much in. The second lagged a bit with the boscha and kiki subplot but evne that felt like it had a good payoff with Boscha's tearful reunion with her girls and Kiki beign forced to help rebuild the world into something better. This finale is by no means bad an dI giv ethe wrtiers decent slack given the circumstances, it's just clear they streched this time as far as they could and the lins show. It's still remarkable it got THIS FAR without the time crunch really showing too bad.
The reason this dosen't wreck the episdoe though.. is the feeling of things coming full circle> We started this journey with just these three weirdos: An awkward teen who no one fit in with, a rogue witch fighting an unjust system alone and having closed herself off to everyone but her son, and a small dog monster unaware of his past with delusions of tyrancy. Three people who had really no one else and found each other. We end… with a strong and powerful witch whose finally got the understanding she craved from her mom, an adorable snake thing, a sibling and friends who would go to hell and back for her, a harpy who finally opened herself back up to people, decided to help others, and reconnected with those she'd shoved away, with her family once again close, and the love of her life back with her and a king who went from being lost, to being scared finding out just WHAT He was, to a brave titan who when held captive by a mad god for months.. still sees the poor kid as the lonely child he is and does everything he can to help. It's that growth that drives the episode. The only thing to really keep them on their toes is the nightmare guilt trip sequence. Which I have to be honest isn't great. The horror aspect is great and all.. but when you stop to think about it it makes absolutely no sense. The collector ended episode 2 snapping his fingers.. but this setup was clearly Belos' plan he told the kid, something he didn't have time for. There's also the fact that Belos and Collector seem to know things like Gus and Willow missing their parents, the whole encounter with the titan trappers, and eda's issues with her mom
It's just a very messy opening and we probably coudl've gottne to "luz's loved ones are abducted and she runs into the others alone", without all the extra steps. The actual reunion is heartwarming but getting there made no sense.
Thankfully the episode picks up right after that, including one of hte best gags in the show's history as Belos finds out the truth King's a titan and can counter the collector… and his response is the brilliant delivery of "the dog?" as if all the gears in his head are turning at once that he could've kidnapped King a THOUSAND TIMES at this point and sped up his plans exponetially.
We'll get to more of a belos in a bit, but honestly while his stuff with Rahne is neat… the real great stuff in act 1 is the main trio and the collector. The intiial games sequence continues that growth: in the opening episode, our heroes struggled against warden wrath of all people. In the finale? their going up against a god child making them particapte in reckless an dangerous games.. and easily counter each one: Luz has come so far that even getting eaten by a pac man head .. is something her PALISMEN easily fixes. King takes out super monkey ball and eda easily aces jenga. Despite being uncomrfortable and painful.. each one easily steps up and ends the game for the rest of them.
It's the next part though that defines who they are: when the collector goes off to cry instead of run or try to hurt him while he's distracted… Luz's only instinct is to help him, with King backing that up. Eda's isn't, but it's less pummel the child and more "I want my kids to be safe". Our heroes could probably beat the collector even with them being a god… but it's clear that's not the way to go. It builds off the series history: Amity, Lilith and Hunter weren't in the best places.. but by simply offering forgivness and understanding… Luz got the love of her life, a cool aunt and a dorky older brother. You can't save everyone, this episode makes that ABUDNATLY clear… but it's better to try first. To try and find out WHY someone is lashing out instead of simply lashing back.
And we find out the Collector, as i've always figured. For starters he had no real concept of death and thus his worse actions like the puppets or the draining spell were just him needing to be taught those were bad.. as I always said
And that it turns out he had NOTHING to do with the genocide of the titans: turns out the others of his species were his siblings, the archivests.. and it turns out his playing with king.. was genuine. The Collector was given the "task" of studying them, really just classic shoo out the younge rsibling stuff. But he genuinely loved them, being best friends and it was genuine… and then it all went to crap: the archivetsts murdered all of them, then most of the adults. The Collector got sealed.. because THE Titan thought it was his fault, and made a hasty mistake. The result was an innocent child got sealed for someone elses mistkaes, none were left.. and Belos got his hands on the kid instead and did far FAR worse.
It also shows once again that understanding each other.. is the real lesson here.. that by trying to understand WHY the collector did this and trying to show him empathy… our heroes save the world. The final fight with the collector isn't some big battle where they have to teach him during or requires some big trick. It's a responsible mom, a good friend, and a kind teen teaching a baby god baby empathy. And it's really nice. But given we have a gooey genocidal racist monster ot deal with it can't last.. which leads us to You Never LIstened Anyway and That's the Hell of It
Naturally Belos was always going to be the final boss. The series was centered around him, everything was building to fighthing him . It's why he lived on, and evne with the collector brought in to help provide some plot thrust for the last act… it was always going to end with him versus our heroes.
The how though.. is really fucking cool. I never thought of Belos fighting the titan and it makes for a perfect final boss form for him: he used "speaking" for the titan to give himself crediblity, stole his words to propel his own dark plans, and corrupted the land to serve himself. it only makes sense that Belos final plan.. is taking the island itself: he took the boiling isles in every other way… it makes sense his final battle is BECOMING them. A symbol of all the horror and death he's caused. The Meat Moss is also GENUINELY creepy, from the way it creeps, to how our heroes are barely keeping it away, to how it easily infects a CHILD with the collector. As he's always been, Belos is an infection to the island, and making it literal was a stroke of genius. It also adds a nice timer: this should in theory make him the victor… but he's still aclimating to the body, understandably given it's a gods, but it gives our heroes only so much time to stop him.
Well that and the fact Luz dies and comes back. And i'm.. mxied on this. I do think her death serves a purpose: it unlocks eda and king's super modes, and crystalizes the Collector's development, allowing them to finally understand death, break down sobbing before going to help the others.
The problem is that it feels like a poorly set up deus ex machina. She dies just so she can come back with a super mode that was never remotely foreshadowed. It seems sloppy and wreaks of how little time they had left to resolve this, and even then that's not a full excuse: Steven Universe's ending was ALSO rushed.. but the solution to that fight still felt entirley baked in and so damn cathartic: steven loosing his gem, us finally finding out what that means.. and steven finding out that no he's not rose. SHE'S GONE. After an entire series of doubt… he is himself, and he knows it. Here it's just "Hey i'm king's dad here's some super duper power with a time limit, go kick that guys ass. Oh and Hooty's a parasite. Byeeeeee"
Okay jokes aside… the scene with King's Dad IS pretty great. While Titan Form is the epitome of
The conversatoin itself is really good. Luz has one last burst of doubt and while I felt the camilla speech was a great ending.. it's entirely realistic that sometimes even after so much caharsis.. your self hatred dosen't entirely go away. I also like the Titan's "You assume he comes from a genuine place" I know many didn't.. but it dosen't really ERASE the tragedy or nuance in belos. He can both have started this mad quest due to a combination of indoctrination and wanting to save his brother.. and still be a selfish prick who wants to be the hero. His goals to start are noble.. but he could also still have a hero complex on top of that. It meshes with his character: all those people he killed didn't matter because their just monsters because baby it's all xp. He lashed out at Caleb just as much because he felt betrayed… as it clashed wit hhis worldview. He was the brave hero saving his brother from kidnapping… in this story instead he was a misguided man who murdered god knows how many witches to save someone who was happy where they were and simply didn't know Phillip was even looking for him. Belos narcisim.. is a key part of him: he built a religion around himself, sees luz holding to her values as "can't argue with crazy" and assumes that OF COURSE he'll get some big reward. This was always there, this line simply makes it more noticable.
King's dad is also just incredibly likeable. As Steve said he's just a guy. He wears a fun t'shirt, has a bear gut and has a giant eye parasite. Sidebar, I find the reveal Hooty is a titan parasite BRILLIANT. IT's done simply as a background detail, but it explains hooty JUST enough to be fun, but not enough to ruin the joke of Hooty being dnelssely baffling. We still don't know his full phislogy, but a few parts of him, why everyone is confused what he is despite being a bug demon, his ability to eat so much, the fact he seems to be the only one of his kind.. it all clicks together. I also find it hilaroius a giant clue to King's past that could shake the very foundation of the world.. was in our heroes living room being obnoxious this whole time. Hell he WAS their living room. And again while Titan Form is very "NEED A LAST MINUTE POWER UP RRRGGGGGHHHYYARRRRGGGGH" and I will never apologize for pointing that out.. the actual final battle?
The Final Battle is a beauitful work of animatoin, showing our power trio at full power: luz has a power boost, and eda and king still support her perfectly, with each acting awesomely in sych as the bat away belos , cumilating in the three seeing the entire isles. I also like the destruction he causes: the titan simply MOVING uproots the entire arm so it's verticle and whoever wasn't a puppet likely died, and the entire island shakes, and seeing the isle changed from above is great, as is them diving straight for wher emagic comes from , the heart, cumilating in one tense final push. I also love the Rhaneunion and while hunte'rs absence in the final battle is still felt…. I do feel Rahne deserved the spot. They've been fighting against belos as hard as they could, while belos has attempted to hypnotize them then taken their body to use as a puppet. They needed this. And crecsndoing the fight with Luz repearing the opening lines of the series as she tears him out of the titan.. fucking poetry. I will also give Titan Luz this: it looks visually impressive and giving it a time limit at least makes it not wreck the whole episode. She can only use it this once and if it runs out they die.
As I hinted out and outright said before the portion after this.. feels ab it rushed. The reunions are nice, but we miss a proper meeting between Camilla , Eda and King, the Collector decides to leave in narration, and generally it feels like a few important post final battle moments are left behind so we could have that opening. That said there are more touches I ddin't mention earlier that helped: the fact that for as little as we get Camilla simply hugs king and eda, Amity, being both good with kids and having learned to forgive, is the first one to offer a hand to the collector, and the titan's magic, his words, going away with him is bittersweet. Luz still has her staff, so she's not cut off from magic, but it takes an iconic part of the show away with it, in a really fitting manner. We also get some nice cutaways to wrap up the loose ends: the various coven heads are being kept from trying a hostile takeover by Darius and Eber (and likely the rest of the CATS), while the CATS themselves stop the coven scouts.. while also having steve offer an olive branch so they can throw away the masks and move on. That said none of this would work half as well if it weren't for what they likely also spent a lot of their time and budget on and this time, gloriously
Here We Are In The Future
The Epilogue.. is brilliant. For starter it makes the apocalyptic ending of belos and the collector having each trashed the island pretty bad easier to swallow in a way that dosen't feel cheap: while we do cut to the good part of the isles being stable again… it's made clear via Luz having helped out every birthday and impliclty every weekend she wasnt busy with high school that restoring the isles took work. It took time. It reminds me of what amphibia similarly did with their flash forward, showing it took ove ra year to even get back a semblance of the world afte rall Andrias did to it. But it also shows that the isle has recover: the market is back up, the school is back up, everything has recovered.
It also shows things are BETTER: the emprial castle is now simply dust and in it's place? A University of WIld Magic. It's both brilliant and hilarously off that Eda became a college dean after all this, that instead of having to hide constantly and hope she isn't caught.. she can teach what she's learned, teach the real history of the isle, and help create more wild witches. Hexside's still there, with multitracks now clearly the norm and some crossover between the schools, but they now have a next step. What happened to the necessary parts of the coven system?
But whatever replaced it, possibly eda herself.. has made a better place in the process. The two basilks, vee's siblings that escaped with her, happily sleeping in the trees is also really neat. It also dosen't suprise me that Edric is now a dorky professor and that Gus is teaching at only 16. It does suprise me GUS is the cool teacher, or at least look it, but good for him.
As for everyone else the futures all fit: Willow stuck with Flier Derby and is likely going pro, something I like> She and Hunter are clearly together despite how many edits people try ot make to the coutrary. Guys , they have a prom photo together where to quote my friend Kammie "She looks like she's going to eat him like dinner and hunter is happy to be the plate". The ship is canon. You can stilll ship whatever the fuck you want. Please stop. But yes that's adorable as is Flaps' grave and his new sister Waffles. She is certainly there, like any good palismen but I like how angry she looks from a distance… and when you zoom in you see it's just because she's a bird, birds can look like that. We also get Amity who apparently been traveling the world in an airship scrooge mcduck style to help his research
We also get some small followups for the recurring cast: Boscha is apparently peddling grudgby gear (though I say she's simply doing it as a job as while Luz is moving for college since finals JUST ended for her school she might just be leaving early to enjoy a summer with her pals, so Boscha may be simply going to the pros.. or maybe this is her life who knows?), Matt is a construction man with a construction mustache, Kikimora is working off her horrible crimes and LIlith gets to build a library while Hooty gets to live his best life on her back.
Of course saving the best for last, Luz staying to do high school has grown on me: while Camilla probably sin't going anywhere (With vee it's vauge), I like the idea that she stayed, and not only waasn't alone thanks to her sister, her sisters partner and her sisters friends along with other weridos who turned out where there all along, but found stuff to do: she did a sport, she graduated. Sure she'll probably be moving to the demon realm full time, but this way her leaving isn't jarring or puts her mother in an awkward situationa nd Luz can go forward having known she did the hard work. Also for those wondreing Masha probably wasn't in the Grom photo because they were eithe rholding the camera or releasing spiders into the ventlation system, like any good prom.
The ending party is also sweet… even if the spider cake ruins my ablility to sleep, I will never not love the horror of hooty holding a bat full of nails. But it ends iwth the collector popping by..a nd our heroes all bidding him and us farewell.
Watching and Dreaming is an excellent finale. It has holes but it should be clear by the week it took me to write this that it was an impactful, moving closing act to one of the best animated shows. It wasn't perfect.. but frankly who is. For what it i is, it's truly fantastic and if you haven't watched it.. go.. go do that. And if you have… then you can join me in crying. I will… dearly miss the owl house. There was nothing like it on tv and may not be again. In a shifting animation landscape where many a shows future is in question, netflix seems to be close to death, and wbd is under investigation for being absolute garbage, it' snice to have a great show like this, even if it was shoved out the door, go out on it's terms, with a solid ending. Until we get more, we're now exiting the boiling isles. Watch your step.. and thanks for reading.

And can't help but wonder if we'd see the same comments if it was Catherine.
>>I would totally still complain if Catherine chose an outfit this busy.
Heck, I even complained that her Festival of Remembrance 2022 outfit was way too much and also way too fussy. My back *still* hurts from the pile-on I ended up under.
(To be clear, I don't care about all the diamonds. Camilla looks amazing in all the diamonds. I just don't like the dress.)
(Although that said, the pattern on Camilla's dress looks like ferns so I think it'd be better-suited for New Zealand but that might be too on the nose.)
And fair enough, anon! I think the dress being too much might be the prevailing opinion, but then I'm a magpie and love me some shiny things, so SHINAAAYYYYY! but yeah, perhaps a less busy dress would have been perfect. i think camilla will figure it out with a little time
and ohhhh no I just Googled and that was not a favourite at all. this blog is a pile-on free place, for future reference

it seems like some people in the owl house fandom still need to hear this
Guys.
The Owl House is not going to end with Luz leaving the Boiling Isles behind and living in the human realm.
Luz has established so much of an actual whole life in the Boiling Isles, none of which can be easily left behind.
Take her relationship with Amity. Remember what Luz said to Amity when first asking to date her? She said "I don't know what my future's going to look like, but it would be so cool if you were in it." Does that seem like it would remotely make sense, after that, for it to just...end? With the two possibly never seeing each other again?
Her learning to be a witch too. It's such a big part of the show, the amount of time that’s been dedicating to her wanting to learn magic, to her finding the glyphs and teaching herself how to use them, developing and honing her skills with them, and that she’s fully enrolled in a school for magic too. It honestly feels very much like a whole life-ambitions thing. It would make no sense for her to just go back to a world where none of the skills she's spent so much time and effort learning can be used and just. Stay there.
The Owl House never felt like it was trying to send any anti-escapism message or anything like that. Luz hasn't treated the Isles like they're just a way to live out her fantasies and escape reality for a long, long time. Arguably since the beginning, even. She said in the first episode that it wasn't the PG fantasy world she'd always dreamed of. And the fact that her life on the Boiling Isles isn't some escapist fantasy has only gotten more and more clear over time, it's been pointed out by plenty of folks in this fandom before.
Honestly, everything Luz has gone through on the Boiling Isles and everything she's been doing there feels like putting down roots and charting out a whole life course there. And The Owl House overall has always been very much about making one's own decisions, deciding one's own future. There've been long text post essays on that. That's what Luz has been doing this whole time, and she's been doing it within the context of the Boiling Isles. It includes her mom, but it also includes everycreature she's come to know and love in the demon realm and everything she's been learning to do there, none of which would be applicable back on Earth.
Not to mention her mom is literally the ONLY thing she’s ever expressed wanting to go back to in the human realm, and we’ve known for a long time she was bullied and ostracized there, and in Thanks To Them Camilla’s nightmare flashbacks and some of Luz’s video diary entries only drove it in even further just how out of place she always was in the human realm. She’s more accepted on the Boiling Isles by now than she EVER was in the human realm. On her mom’s doorstep after the events of King’s Tide, she said “I’m back.” She didn’t say “I’m home.” When she did say “Yeah. I’m home.” after Camilla said she was glad Luz was home, I don’t think it could’ve been much clearer in her voice or her face (which the screen took a moment to fully focus on) that those words didn’t feel true to her.
When Luz DID decide in Thanks To Them that the best course of action for her would be to stay in the human realm, this was framed as being entirely wrong. Partly because it was out of a false belief that she would be of no help and only made people’s lives worse, and partly because it was very much established how she did not belong in the human realm. Camilla clearly knew Luz staying in the human realm wouldn’t be right as soon as she heard Luz say this. Her immediate and wholehearted response was “No, no way in heck am I letting you do that, don’t you even say that. You’re going back there, and now that I’ve seen what you’re up against, you’re taking me WITH you.”
Nothing about The Owl House feels like it’s leading into Luz saying goodbye to the demon realm and going back to living the rest of her life in the human realm. It would make no sense for the show to end like that, and everything about the show feels deliberately built up in a direction that goes completely against ending like that.
So yeah. Anycreature who’s been worrying about this, you can relax.

If you're taking prompt requests, would you be able to write Hunter getting tickled by Gus? Hunter isn't familiar with affection and Gus takes it upon himself to show Hunter good forms of physical contact? Poor guy probably didn't get much affection from anyone while he was with Belos so he needs love and his little brother is more than willing to give him that :)
Don't feel pressure to write this of course, if you don't want to that's absolutely fine <3
Hiiiiii friend! Sorry it took so long! I've been super tired, plus dealing with life stuff. But! Here you are! Hope you enjoy!
This is also my first two prompts for Laughust! Hands and Feathers!
Hunter sat on the couch in Luz’s house, looking at his hands. Camilla had all but forced him to give her his gloves, they were falling apart at the seams and smelled horrible, she promised to hand wash them and sew them back up good as new. But in the meantime… he was left to sit with uncovered hands for the first time in… well he didn’t know how long.
He stared at the myriad of scars on his hands, left there from years of abuse. Not just from Belos even, missions, spars, kitchen accidents. There were a million ways he’d hurt his hands, and each one left him feeling… insecure, at best. He didn’t like how his hands looked, as ragged and worn as his gloves really. He also didn’t like the feeling of them out of the gloves, it was like pins and needles. He tried to wear other gloves around the house, but none felt right. It was… frustrating.
“Hey man!” Gus exclaimed, bouncing next to him on the couch, startling Hunter out of his reverie.
“Oh! Uh… hey Gus. What’s up?” he asked tentatively, subtly trying to hide his hands from view.
“Just wanted to see how you were doing. …Plus I’m super bored. Willow’s in the garden, Luz and Amity went for a “romantic walk” and thus here I am. Poor little Gus-Gus, left to fend for himself!” the younger boy whined dramatically, flopping over Hunter's lap, a hand to his forehead. His theatrics made Hunter giggle a bit, “Oh you poor thing. But I’m afraid I can’t help you much, I’m not really doing anything interesting at the moment.” “That could change though! Come on! Let's have a guy day! You and me! Taking on the human world!” Gus grinned, bouncing back up and looking at Hunter with wide expectant eyes. Hunter looked away, his brief jovial mood souring. “Sorry… I can’t right now. I’m… a bit stuck here. Till Camilla gives me my gloves back.” Gus tilted his head like a curious puppy, “She took your gloves? Why?”
“They were getting gross apparently.” he shrugged, hands hidden under his thighs. “Oh… ya know I don’t think I’ve ever seen your hands.” Oh no. “They’re just… hands.” Please don’t ask. “Can I see them?” Noooooooooo. “I… they’re kinda…” he started, not really sure how to explain without sounding childish
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to.” he said earnestly, shocking Hunter. He was still getting used to this… freedom, so to speak. He didn’t have to do a lot of things nowadays. He didn’t have to go on patrols, he didn’t have to do all the chores, he didn’t have to get up at 4am every morning, he didn’t have to make his own food, heck he didn’t even have to eat all his food if he didn’t want to! It was… so strange, and new and weird. But… he found himself nodding, and lifting his hands up for Gus to see. He looked away though, not wanting to see his friend's reaction.
“Whoa… did… did He, do that?” he asked softly, and Hunter nodded again.
“Sorta… some was him, some was just… normal wear and tear from my job.” he mumbled, hugging himself.
Gus sighed, “I’m sorry you had to live with that.”
Whether THAT was Belos or his old job, was up for debate.
“Yeah… me too.” he sighed.
“...Is it ok if I touch them?”
Hunter thought for a moment, but hesitantly shook his head no. He was… getting used to saying no to people. Sure when it was an underling, or someone he used to see as “lesser” it would be easy. But now… he saw his friends as his equals, so it was certainly harder.
“Ok! That’s fine!” Gus smiled, holding his hands up in front of him. “…Can I hug you though?”
“I… guess?” hugs were still odd to Hunter. His friends were always hugging each other, and they tried to hug him a lot. Mostly Gus, Willow, and Luz, but still. He didn’t mind the hugs. Especially the tight “bear hugs” Willow gave.
Gus’s grin grew and he wrapped his arms around Hunter, hugging him tight. His face nuzzled Hunter’s neck a bit, making the teen squeak involuntarily. Gus pulled back a bit and tilted his head again, “Dude, you ok?” Hunter rubbed his neck, a weird feeling without his gloves. “Y-yeah… when you brushed my neck it just felt… weird.” “Weird?” “Weird.” “Weird… how?” he asked, scooting a little closer.
He shrugged, “I don’t know… tingly? I guess?”
Gus hummed and smiled again, this seemed… mischievous. “Can I do it again?” Hunter narrowed his eyes but nodded, lowering his hand and tilting his head to give Gus better access.
Gus brushed his fingers over Hunter’s neck, fluttering them a bit. This made Hunter squeak again, a few involuntary titters leaving him as his shoulders scrunched up. “Hehehe! W-what the heck is that?!”
Gus laughed as he pulled his hand back, “I can’t believe it! You’re ticklish!”
“I’m… what?” he blinked, “I’ve never heard that word before.” “Ticklish! It means that basically there are some spots on you that are ticklish! Like your neck! Someone pokes you, or does what I just did, and it makes you laugh! Some people like it, some hate it, some people are ticklish, some aren’t. It’s different for everyone.” Gus explained, “My dad used to tickle me all the time, it was a fun bonding thing for us! Plus, Willow and I get into tickle fights a lot, same with Luz!”
“Huh… so is it just necks that are… ticklish?” he asked.
“Nope! There are lots of spots! If you want, we can find out if you’re ticklish in other places! It’ll be fun!” he grinned, practically bouncing on the couch cushion.
Hunter looked at his friend but eventually shrugged, the… ticklish feeling on his neck hadn’t been unpleasant. Besides, it wasn’t like he could be that ticklish in too many places. Surely he’d know about that by now if that was the case.
Gus pumped his fist in the air and raised his hands, forming claws with his fingers. “Alright… let’s see… where to start. How about we go from the top down?”
Hunter shrugged again, “I doubt I’m that ticklish.”
“That’s what they all say.” he chuckled, his fingers lightly scratching behind Hunter's ears.
Hunter immediately jerked forward with a squeal, holding his ears and looking shocked. “EEK! W-what the- How- What- I-” “Whoa! Dude, your ears are crazy ticklish! That’s hilarious!” Gus giggled, moving closer and scratching behind his ears again.
Hunter honest to titan shrieked, his ears wiggling as he tried to keep still this time. “EHEHEHEHEHE! IT-IT TIHIHIHIHIHICKLES! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!” “Well that’s the point! Oh! Oh! I wanna try something!” Gus then drew a spell circle in the air, a feather appearing in his hand. “Ok, this might tickle more, let me know!” Hunter was still fizzling out giggles when he felt that horrible, soft, bristly, torture device on his ears. “AAAAAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! NOHOHOHOHOHO! W-WAHAHAHAHAIT! GUHUHUHUS! OH TITAHAHAHAHAN! I CAHAHAN’T TAHAHAKE IT! AHAHAHAHA!” Gus snorted, “Dude I just started! How ticklish are you?” “V-VEHEHEHEHERY! STAHAHAHAP! PLEEHEHEHEHEASE!” he shrieked, shooting his hands around his ears as soon as Gus moved the feather away. The Gus in question just giggled at him, “Maybe we should take a breather. LEt you get your bearings.”
“W-whyihihihi dohohoes it tihihickle so muhuhuch?” he asked, still giggling as he tried to rub away the lingering ticklish feeling.
“I don’t really know, it just does.” Gus shrugged, “We can find more of your tickle spots later. We’ve already got ears and neck. So that’s a start!” Hunter nodded, he felt… better honestly. Lighter even! It was… nice to laugh a bit, he hadn’t even thought about his gloves, or how weird his hands looked or felt. “Yeah… I’d like that.”
Gus beamed at him and hugged him. “Heck yeah! Just beware, when the others find out your ticklish, there’ll be no stopping them.” Hunter scoffed and pulled Gus into a noogie, “I can take ‘em!”
The pair laughed, both quite happy at this new discovery, and both excited for the next experiment.

Hey if skara and willow celebrate christmas, what would they do? Also im a huge skarlow fan as well^w^
Always love hearing questions from fellow huge Skarlow fans! It's always a delight.
As for the question, it's a bit out of season, but I love this idea a lot so I'll allow it!
The Boiling Isles doesn't really have a good equivalent to Christmas. The closest thing it does have is a Knabmas, a tradition where all the best thieves in Bonesburough steal as much stuff as they can in a single day (Eda is the only one who seems to know about this though, so the others take it with a molecule of salt). So, when the time finally comes, Luz excitedly introduces the Owl Gang to Christmas, her favorite holiday. She introduces them to everything, making a special point of explaining mistletoe and its own traditions (both Luz and Willow got a kick out of seeing their partners blush whenever the plant was around/whenever Willow made one).
Willow would be all about the ugly sweaters. I mean, unironically. She’d see all the worst, silliest sweaters and immediately throw it on and show it off with pride. But Skara doesn’t mind, since Willow likes to throw the sweaters over both of them to cuddle.
Skara would play the HECK outa Christmas music, especially when she can perform a rock cover for it. Her rendition of Feliz Navida almost literally blew the Noceda’s roof off (Skara’s now only allowed to have her instruments at a noise level of ‘incredibly low’ in the Human realm). Willow loves to listen, though, and Skara always finds/makes up a new Christmas themed love song for her each day.
Luz’s favorite part of Christmas is explaining a tradition Camila brought from the Dominican Republic: 'Un Angelito,' or 'Little Angel'. Sorta like 'Secret Santa,' everyone picks a name out of a bag, and whomever they draw is their Angelito, who they secretly buy gifts for on Christmas. It's something Luz is super excited about, given that she's now able to do it with a whole bunch of found family members. Skara’s lucky enough to grab Willow, so with the 20 dollars Camilla gave her for the gift, Skara vowed to get her girlfriend the best present imaginable! And she does find something super cool! A beautiful, glass rose, kinda like the one in that Human movie Luz showed them, Beauty and the Beast! She want’s to give it to Willow as the perfect gift, and she’s lucky! It’s only... ten times what Camilla gave her.
Meanwhile, Willow actually got Amity, and decided to buy her a new toy for Ghost. Unfortunately, Willow couldn’t afford much else she thought Skara would really want, like a new instrument or tool for one. The best she could do was a signing card, one that played some song, Happy Birthday? Whatever it was, it seemed just silly enough for Skara to like it. She felt a little guilty about it, but vowed she’d get Skara something better back on the Boiling Isles.
Later that evening, Skara decided to try and buy that rose for Willow! So, she decides to try something else she’s seen in human Movies: street performing. While preparing to sneak out after dinner, though, Gus spotted her. When Skara explained the situation, though, he was more then happy to help. He didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Skara, and if it would help Willow out too, what’s wrong with that? So, the two sneak out near the mall and work together, using Skara’s music and Gus’s illusions to try and earn the money for the rose. The two watch the money get thrown into Skara’s guitar case, and soon Skara proudly buys the glass rose for Willow! She rushes out of the mall to wrap it up at home... and trips on the way their. It crashes onto the ground, shattering into a billion tiny shards. Skara’s devastated, and she and Gus slink home to crawl into bed, now without any gift for Willow.
A short time later, Christmas day, and everyone opens their presents: Luz got Hunter a sleeping mask (’for when he ever decides to try it’ she jokes), Hunter gives Vee a set of non-magical tarot cards (Vee has a few dozen from their gf but she’s still happy with it), Vee got Gus a book on giraffes, Amity gave Luz a little stuffed otter (with a dark side). It’s an amazing day. But Skara doesn’t really have anything to give Willow, and she feels ashamed. Until she opens her gift, from Gus: all the tiny shards of the glass rose and it’s case, attempted to be forced together through magic and a little bit of human glue. He didn’t really know what else to get Skara, so he threw his own 20 into the case. But when he saw how devastated Skara was, he vowed to fix it, trying his darndest from it’s shattering till Christmas to fix it. So Skara hands the gift to Willow.
And it immediately shatters again.
Skara’s heartbroken and feels terribly about how much she’s wasted both Gus and Willow’s time. She decides she’ll just go off to bed until Willow stops her to give her the card she bought. Despite everything, Skara looks at the silly card with its silly song and laugh. She’s grateful for letter, something Willow’s ecstatic to hear, and Skara hugs Willow and kisses her face a thousand times over. She comes back and hugs Gus as a ‘thank you’ as well.
Later, during an After Christmas sale, Skara is able to use the extra money from the rose to buy Willow and herself a pair of ugly matching sweaters, which earned her a little mistletoe over her head by Willow.
Bonus stuff: Like all sane people, both girls love hot chocolate, and make a point to always drink it together. Skara likes to stir a candy cane in hers a bit before sipping, a trick Luz taught her.
Hunter, Vee, and Gus counted who had to pick up the most of Willow’s mistletoe’s during the Christmas season. In the end, Hunter had to take care of 12, Vee 15, and Gus 21.
Luz gave Skara a cute little elf hat as a gift. She didn’t think much of it, but whenever she wore it around Willow, the Plant Witch would get flustered and silly. Given the fact that’s usually Sakra’s job, she took a bit of pleasure in making her girlfriend feel that way by putting it on randomly.
Amity was super happy to give Ghost the little mouse toy Willow bought them, but they were confused by how he seemed to just lazily roll around, sleep, and eat a bunch after playing with it...

can you give me some webtoon recommendations? name some of your favorites! :)
i am here to answer folks 😎
all of these webtoons can be found on webtoons.com! I'm not sure about the whole daily pass thing they've got going on (which sucks tbh) but like,,, you could probably find it online illegally. NOT THAT I CONDONE ILLEGAL ACTIVITY HAHAHAHA ᵖˢˢᵗ ⁱᶠ ʸᵒᵘ ˡᵒᵒᵏ ⁱᵗ'ˢ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ
I'll split these up between completed and in progress :) most are still in progress though
COMPLETED
1) Gourmet Hound (166 chapters)
this is like, my all time favorite webtoon. it follows Lucy and her quest to find all the chefs that left her favorite restaurant, Dimanche! it’s a really heartfelt story and the food illustrations make you really hungry, so make sure you have a snack before you sit down to read it. each character’s name is also food-related, so that’s pretty cool too! and the diversity in this webtoon is AMAZING. it’s the only webtoon i’ve ever read that has a hijabi character in the main cast. the development is done really well and it explores themes of loving and letting go. all in all, it has a bit of everything. i personally love food-related things, and this centers around it, so i was set LOL
(also a bonus is that this webtoon has NOT succumbed to daily pass hell, so you can binge read the whole thing. legally.)
2) Hooky (200 chapters)
if you like stories of witches, this is the one! the summary and beginning chapters are deceptively lighthearted. DO NOT BE FOOLED! the story really develops further on and explores numerous conflicts, a big one being (if i remember correctly) witch vs. nonwitch. if you like to see struggles between two sides, not a good-and-evil but just people-who-want-the-best-for-themselves-and-their-loved-ones type of thing, this is good for that. also, sibling love! the two main characters are Dani and Dorian, and while there is someee romance, i like how this story centers around the siblings first and foremost. ALSO THE ART??? I LOVE HOW THE AUTHOR DRAWS SETTINGS SO MUCH and am unabashedly jealous because i am completely incapable of doing so just like,,,, even if the story doesn’t pull you in, you can at least stare at each panel for long stretches of time.
(unfortunately succumbed to daily pass, but you can read it on mangaowl or manganelo!)
3) Spirit Fingers (167 chapters)
aww, this one is cute. Amy is 18 and lacking in self confidence (her family definitely doesn’t help). but HEY she joins a wacky art club!! without her parents knowing!! HECK YEAH!! unfortunately it takes more than joining an art club for her to learn to love herself (it is a long journey after all!). i love this webtoon because it explores the problems of multiple people, not just amy: her high achieving brothers, her mother who had to give up her dream, the different members in the art club, Amy’s girl friends. the art is unique and has a cool watercolor-y texture! and the main couple is just adorable, too. if you’re an artist especially, i recommend this because that’s a big theme and you get to see these characters expand their art styles! which is very cool!
(you can read this one fully on 1stkissmanga)
now here’s where the majority of my recs are:
IN PROGRESS (all can be read on webtoon.com)
1) The Makeup Remover (currently 71 chapters)
i look forward to this every tuesday and friday because oh man!!!!!!!!! idk about you guys, but i am thinking about beauty standards A Large Amount of the time, especially when i consume media. and this webtoon is all about beauty standards (specifically in Korea, but still applicable like. everywhere). Main character Yeseul ends up having to partake in this beauty competition and, with her experiences through it, she begins seeing makeup and beauty standards for the huge role they play in society. i said it already but i LOVE LOVE LOVE this webtoon because it really challenges you as a reader to think about your own perspectives. why do we find the things/people beautiful that we do? what shapes our perception? how much of it is marketing, and how much of it shows in our daily lives? what assumptions do you make about people based on how they look? AGHH im sounding like an essay prompt instead of a reviewer but man. if you like webtoons that examine society through a critical lens (gosh i sound like an english teacher), this is the one.
2) Odd Girl out (currently 261 chapters; on season 2)
okay, first and foremost: if you’re NOT into long winded drama, this probably isn’t it for you. i will admit im not a fan of long problems that get dragged out, especially in a school setting, but i did keep reading this webtoon and i am glad that i did! the character development here is amazing and ONE CRUCIAL THING is that the whole first season (which is many, many chapters. at least over 100) focuses on the friendship between our main 4 girls. if you don’t wanna wait for a romance storyline (which comes in season 2), then you’ve gotta have the patience of a saint. i loved this though because lots of romance webtoons cast friendships aside or use them to further the romantic plot. platonic relationships are great to read about and this one does it masterfully! main character nari is resilient and emotionally strong, and it’s great to see her ruin her enemies
3) Cursed Princess Club (currently 110 chapters; on break before the final season)
this is another one about beauty and societal expectations, but in a fantasy setting! it’s really funny and the cast of characters is heartwarming. Gwen is a princess, but she doesn’t look like the typical princess. she accidentally stumbles upon the Cursed Princess Club, which is exactly what it sounds like: a club for princesses that have been cursed and are trying to find their self worth despite not being conventional princesses! now that i think about it, this is like a lighthearted mixture of Makeup Remover and Spirit Fingers. although while i do say “lighthearted”, this webtoon has its fair share of mysteries and exploration of deeper topics. but its funny throughout
4) Brass & Sass (currently 83 chapters)
ahh this one is really cute and the art is cute, too! i also like how this has a diverse cast. high schooler Camilla kinda sucks at band, but dangit if she’s not passionate. Victor is some type of musical prodigy but he’s a brass-hole (hahaha get it. no that’s not original i ripped it from the summary). now i KNOW I KNOW, the whole “perky girl and asshole guy” is so overplayed BUT DON’T FRET! this isn’t the type of story where the girl “fixes” the guy, or where the guy is an asshole to everyone except the girl. believe me, the character development and relationship development in this story is SPLENDID. there’s no real antagonist. it’s just a bunch of high schoolers trying their best to make themselves and everyone else happy, and that’s hard! the story is carried more by the characters than by the plot, but it works well in this case since the characters are strong and each one has a presence.
5) Surviving Romance (currently 10 chapters)
this one is relatively new compared to my other recs but it’s by the author of the Makeup Remover so yaknow i had to hop on it. BUT IT IS VERY DIFFERENT! first off, it’s a horror, so keep that in mind. the best way i can describe it is a mixture of the standard “girl falls into a story” genre, Groundhog Day, and zombies. Yeah. Bascially, Chaerin is our main girl and she’s in a romance story that’s she’s read a bajillion times, so she knows the day has come for her male lead to confess his love! except he doesn’t! because he becomes a zombie instead! hahaha well that sucks! it’s only got 10 chapters but i am very into it, and it seems to be taking an emphasis on platonic relationships, so i am very closely watching 👁👁
6) The Witch and the Bull (currently 60 chapters)
another witch story! and the art is GORGEOUS. more witch + nonwitch conflict, too! our main dude, Tan, is the royal advisor and he’s hella bigoted against witches. our main girl, Aro, happens to be a witch. and Tan needs her help to make him into a human again (because he got turned into a bull. that is worth mentioning). this is a very barebones summary and there’s a lot more that goes on, but that’s the general gist of the beginning!
ANYWAYS. this got very long, predictably, and i rambled for each title, predictably. i’ve got more that i’m reading, but i really like these 9! i also made comments on the art for a lot of them, which might not matter to some people, but i feel like my art was very impacted by each webtoon i read. if you’re an artist i recommend finding a webtoon you like and studying the art; try implementing parts you like into your own style!
anyways, i am FINALLY done talking. bye yall
