Here are my thoughts on Harry and Meghan's pseudo-royal tour. It's simply an ego tour. Being black and of Cameroonian origin but having 40% Nigeria like many because it was a vast kingdom.
Where was the history of Nigeria?
Why are soldiers injured? why we don't see Harry and Meghan wearing African designers (ah yes product placement)
Stop with these superlatives Nigeria fell in love with Harry and Meghan lol this obsession with being chosen by Africa as saviors or kings shows how uneducated they are and that their team is white!!!!
Taking selfies does not mean being adored or being better. It shows that in 2024 Harry and Meghan still don't understand the definition of being royal!!!!!
It was all about their ego...
In this little game they will lose in the medium term. Making countries black African and playing egotistical or talking about Diana as if Africa were staying in the 90s. Will turn against them. They are so obsessed with them and being in competition with the BRF (in their heads) they are going to look like walking idiots.
There are so many details that show that are lost.
I stop here.

favorite pan African leaders.
Thomas Sankara:Thomas sankara was marxist leninist, pan african anti imperialism. His ideology encapsulates the hearts and minds of all African people. He was assassinated by the french blaise compaoré, who then took control of burkina faso from 1987 till 2014 when there was an uprising.
Ruben Um NyobĂ©:Was an anti colonialist Cameroonian leader who was also slated by the French in 1958,nyobe pushed by economic and mental freedom from French and British imperialism, and he was the first African leader to claim independence in front of the un.Â
Patrice Lumumba: was killed by the state of Katanga at the will of the Belgium and American government who orchestrated his death as well as millions of other Congolese people.after fighting tooth and nail for anti colonialism in 1960 the king of Belgium âgrantedâ Congolese people their freedom in the most arrogant and aggressive manner possible. When Thomas Sankara responded saying that the wealth of the congo should be left to them, the western powers retaliated by paying some congolese soldiers to kill him. Ironically forcing him to eat the words of his independence day speech.
Muammar Gaddafi:threatened the west by trying to socio economically liberate Libya, he wanted to create a centralized African currency, that was made from gold, that would replace the dollar when trading with Africa. These revolutionary ideas are what got him killed by the french government in 2011
Marcus Garvey: is most favorite for his back to africa movement that connected all African peoples globally. Garveyism gave the b;lack community in the west the autonomy to fight for themselves without the help of their oppressors.Â
Malcom X: was an african american revolutionary and devout muslim. He was loved all over the world by the black communities for his ideology that included black power, black economic autonomy, racial pride, and black self defense, by any means possible.

Date: 2006-present
Political parties: -
Militant organizations: Bakassi Movement for Self-Determination
Current status: low-level conflict
History
1884 - the British Empire starts to exercise control over Bakassi
1994 - Cameroon takes the matter of the possession of Bakassi to the International Court of Justice (ICJ)
2002 - Bakassi stops being part of Nigeria
2006 - Greentree Agreement; Bakassi declaration of independence
2008 - new declaration of independence
2013 - Cameroon gains full sovereignty over Bakassi
In the late 19th century, Queen Victoria signed a treaty of protection with the inhabitants of Akwa Akpa (Old Calabar), which included the region of Bakassi, that enabled the British to take control of the territory. Later, the region became part of Nigeria.
Cameroon decided to take the matter to the ICJ, as it claimed possession of Bakassi. The Court ruled that the territory belonged to Cameroon. Nigeria and Cameroon signed the Greentree Agreement to resolve their border dispute.
However, Bakassiâs inhabitants opposed the transfer to Cameroon and declared independence. This led to clashes between Cameroonian and Nigerian soldiers, as well as between Pro-Nigerian militia and Cameroon.
The Bakassi independence movement can be framed within the wider Ambazonia struggle.

âKidnapped, Raped, Humiliated, and Forced to Convert to Islamâ: Muslim Persecution of Christians, December 2019
Martyred on Christmas Day: Islamic State in Nigeria videotaped the slaughter of 11 Christians
by Raymond Ibrahim
The following are some of the abuses Muslims inflicted on Christians throughout the month of December, 2019; they are categorized by theme:
The Slaughter of Christians
Nigeria: The Islamic State in West Africa Province released a video of the execution of 11 Christian aid workers on the day after Christmas. The brief video shows one Christian being shot followed by 10 others being beheaded by masked jihadis standing behind the tied hostages. âThis message is to the Christians in the world,â a manâs voice narrates over the footage. âThose who you see in front of us are Christians, and we will shed their blood as revenge for the two dignified sheikhs, the caliph of the Muslims, and the spokesman for the Islamic State [who were killed by the U.S.]â Before being slaughtered, the captives reportedly made pleas, including to Nigeria president Muhammadu Buhari, to save them. Buhari, who has himself been accused of turning a blind eye to the persecution of Christians in Nigeriaâand even abetting itâcondemned the executions, adding that âthese barbaric killers donât represent Islam.â
A separate report cited by Fox News found that more than 6,000 Christians have been slaughtered by Islamic terrorists since 2015âa thousand of them in just 2019. According to the report,
They attack rural villages, force villagers off their lands and settle in their place â a strategy that is epitomized by the phrase: âYour land or your blood.â In every village, the message from local people is the same: âPlease, please help us! The Fulani are coming. We are not safe in our own homes.â
The nomadic Fulani herdsmen âseek to replace diversity and difference with an Islamist ideology which is imposed with violence on those who refuse to comply,â Baroness Caroline Cox commented. âIt isâaccording to the Nigerian House of Representativesâgenocide. Something has to changeâurgently. For the longer we tolerate these massacres, the more we embolden the perpetrators. We give them a âgreen lightâ to carry on killing.â
Kenya: After armed Muslim militants stopped and stormed a passenger bus near the Somali border on December 6, they proceeded to separate the 56 passengers into Muslim and Christian groupsâreportedly by asking them to recite the Islamic shahada (creed); 11 of those who would or could not due to their Christian faith, were paraded out of the bus. âThey were told to lie on the ground face down and were shot at close range,â one report said. âThe militants then ordered the bus to leave with the rest of the passengers.â The attackers apparently also relied on whether a passenger appeared to be local (meaning likely Muslim) or not (meaning likely Christian). âThe majority of the population in this region is Muslim,â Rev. Nicholas Mutua, a Catholic priest, explained. âThe non-locals had come from other parts of the country and they would definitely have been Christians.â âOne of the Muslim men gave me Somali attire, and when the separation was being done I went to the side of the Muslims, and immediately we were told to get [back] into the bus,â a survivor recalled. âAs the locals were getting back into the bus, the non-locals who were left behind were fired upon with gunshots.â  Separating Muslims from Christians before slaughtering the latter has long been the modus operandi of Islamic terror groups. In the Garissa University College massacre of 2015, when militants slaughtered nearly 150 people, a survivor explained how the Islamic terrorists burst into a Christian service, seized worshippers, and then âproceeded to the hostels, shooting anybody they came across except their fellows, the Muslims.â Another witness said the gunmen were opening doors and inquiring if the people inside were Muslims or Christians: âIf you were a Christian you were shot on the spot. With each blast of the gun I thought I was going to die.â
Burkina Faso: On Sunday, December 1, Islamic terrorists stormed a church during service and opened fire; 14 worshippers were killed and many injured. The gunmen fled on motorbikes following the massacre.  Discussing this incident, a separate report offers statistics:
Burkina Fasoâs Christian minority used to live in relative peace. Now the violence and persecution of Christians has quadrupled in the last two years and is expected to increase by [another] 60%âŠÂ Radical Islamic groups such as the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara and other local insurgents have pushed nearly half a million people from their homes. Sundayâs attack comes after a Catholic priest was executed in February, five Christians were killed during an attack on a Church service in April, and 13 Christians were killed in a Church arson attack and procession in May. Most recently was on October 26 when unknown gunmen stormed a Christian village and reportedly killed 12 and abducted several others.
Cameroon: In just the first half of December, Islamic militants âbegan an onslaught of attacks on Cameroonian Christians that left 7 dead and 21 captive to the terrorist group.â According to the report:
On December 1, gunmen opened fire at a funeral in Mayo Sava district, in the far north of Cameroon. Four were killed and three were wounded. In another attack on the same day, militants ransacked homes and looted them of food and basic necessities. The next night, three more people were murdered and another was injured in another looting of Zangola village. A few days later on December 5, militants methodically searched for children and young adults and kidnapped them. In the middle of the night they came and stole nine girls and twelve boys from their homes, ranging from 12 to 21 years old. Four of the captives managed to escape. While en-route to their base, the Boko Haram militants attacked Tahert village where one girl was injured and a motorbike was stolen. Nearly 300 people have been killed in Cameroon in 2019 by Islamic militants, with 80% being civilians.
Pakistan: Naveed Masih, a 24-year-old Christian man was found hanging from a tree, dead, because he had earlier prevented Muslim men from harassing and pressuring a married Christian mother to convert to Islam.  Due to this, âa mob of 20 individuals attacked Naveedâs house,â the report says. âThe mob beat Naveed and damaged many of the familyâs belongings. The mob further threatened Naveed to not interfere with their efforts to convert the Christian woman.â Two months later, he was lured to a supposed parley. When he arrived at the meeting point, âhe was brutally tortured and he was hanged from a tree as a result of protecting a Christian womanâs faith,â his father, Herbert, recalled:  âCarrying your sonâs dead body in your arms is heartbreaking and unbearable. It almost ended my life when I had to shoulder my sonâs funeralâŠ. My family is still under threats to withdraw the case against the culprits. However, I have nothing to lose now.â
In a separate but similar incident in Pakistan, after sexually abusing him, two Muslim men killed Daud (âDavidâ) Masih, a Christian teenager, on December 14 in a factory. According to a local Christian activist, âDaud and his elder brother started working at the embroidery factory during the night shift about three months ago. They were additional breadwinners for the family as the mother is sick and their father is a day laborer.â Weeks before the murder, Masih had complained about the âunethical behavior from his Muslim co-workers.â Because the owner of the factory did not seem to care or intervene, Masih stopped going to work, until the owner assured him of protection. He was abused and killed on the same day he returned to work; one of his murderers is allegedly the brother of the owner. Last reported, the individuals accused of the crime have not been arrested and were pressuring and trying to bribe the victimâs family to drop the case: âAlthough I am a poor Christian woman, I want justice for my son and punishment for those who killed Daud,â his mother said. âI will never go for compensation or reconciliation, as my son was killed brutally.â
Attacks on Churches
Philippines: During Sunday Mass on the evening of December 22, Islamic terrorists detonated a bomb just outside Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cotabato, a city on the island of Mindanao. Twenty-two people were injured in the explosion, 12 of whom were soldiers patrolling the church as part of security measures adopted during the Christmas holidays. Parish priest Zaldy Robles, who called it âa cowardly act on the eve of the Christmas celebrations,â said âcasualties would have been unimaginableâ had the bomb reached the inside of the church. In 2009, a similar bomb attack on the same cathedral in Mindanao killed five people and injured 34. Most of the Philippinesâ Muslim minority live in Mindanao, which has been a hotbed of terrorism in recent years. Among other attacks, âIslamic State-affiliated terrorists were blamed for twin suicide bombings at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu Province on Jan. 27 [2019], which killed at least 22 people and wounded more than 100. Jolo is a small island off the coast of Mindanao.â
Iraq: The Catholic Church of Divine Wisdom in Baghdad, built in 1929, was invaded on the day after Christmas in what was described by one report as a âhostile takeover attemptâ: âDetails remain scarce. Security footage of the invasion show that an Islamic leader was present amongst the invaders, who attempted to open the gate and remove the cross.â Later reports revealed that the church had been âmarked for demolition by the authorities, together with some surrounding buildings, as part of a redevelopment programme in the city,â but that âlocal residents say the project is driven by commercial and political forces, and does not take into account the significance of the church for the community.â
Indonesia: Several reports appearing around Christmas indicated the difficulties churches experience during the holiday season. In âAceh Christians forced to celebrate Christmas in a tent,â the BBC reported on December 23 that:
Christians in the Indonesian province of Aceh are preparing to celebrate Christmas in makeshift tents in the jungle. Their churches were destroyed four years ago by Islamic vigilante groups and the police. Indonesia â the worldâs largest Muslim population â has a pluralist constitution that is meant to protect the rights of followers of all the major faiths. But Church leaders in Singkil Aceh say the local authorities are stopping them from rebuildingâŠ.
Separately, authorities on the Indonesian island of Sumatra banned Christians from celebrating Christmas in private homes. According to Sudarto, the director of an intercommunity initiative, âThey did not get permission from the local government since the Christmas celebration and worship were held at the house of one of the Christians who had been involved. The local government argued that the situation was not conducive.â He added that the ban on Christians to celebrate Christmas and the New Year âhas been going on for a long time [since 1985], so far they have been quietly worshiping at the home of one of the worshipers, but they have applied for permission several times. Yet the permit to celebrate Christmas was never granted. The house where they performed worship services was once burned down in early 2000 due to resistance from residents.â
Discussing yet another incident, the Jakarta Post reported on Christmas Day that âChristians in Jambi city, Jambi, still struggle to find joy on the eve of the holy day since the authorities sealed a number of local churches in the cityâŠ. Several Christians in the region were aghast when they were welcomed by a notice plastered on the closed front doors of the Assemblies of God Church (GSJA) informing them the church was sealed on Dec. 24, instead of the customary Christmas prayers and services.â This church is among three churches in the area to be closed down by the Jambi city administration following protests by local Muslim residents who cited the lack of building permits. âThis is the second Christmas celebration to feel depressing for us,â said its pastor Jonathan Klaise on Christmas Eve. âItâs a difficult situation. We have no other choice but to cope with itâŠÂ We can only hope that we will soon be able to pray in our church.â
Attacks on Muslim Converts (âApostatesâ) Â to Christianity
Uganda: A Muslim man with three wives abandoned one of them and their three children on learning that she had converted to Christianity. Problems began for Florence Namuyiga, 27, when she took her eldest son, aged 7, to the church that she had been secretly attending following her conversion last May. âThat evening, while back at home, my son began singing some of the Christian songs that were sung in the church,â she explained. âMy husband began questioning me where the son picked such kinds of songs, but I kept quiet. He then turned to our son, who narrated what he saw in church of both men and women worshipping together in one big hall. Thereafter we went to bed with no communication with my husband.â Then, on November 29, her husband, Abudalah Nsubuga, 34, insisted she to go to Friday mosque prayers. âI refused,â she said. âHe started beating me up with sticks, blows and kicks.
When I fell down, he left me and went to the mosque. I began bleeding with serious injury on my left arm. That evening he did not come to the house but slept in the house of one of my co-wives.â On the next day,
He arrived [home] and pronounced [ritual Islamic] words of divorce and threatened to kill me if I remained in the homesteadâŠÂ There and then I left the homestead, leaving all my belongings behindâŠ. I have been supporting my three children by washing peoplesâ clothing around the village. Indeed life is quite difficult for me and the children. I have realized that following Jesus is not easy. Sometimes I spend sleepless nights thinking on my future and that of my small kids, especially their school fees.
Iran: On December 20, Mohammad Moghiseh, the head of Tehran Revolutionary Court, sentenced nine Muslim apostates to a total of 45 years in prison. âThese Christian converts have objected to the verdict issued by the Tehran Revolutionary Court and are awaiting final appeal,â the report states. The day before sentencing, on December 19, the US Treasury Department accused Mohammad Moghiseh and another Revolutionary judge of violating justice and abusing the rights of religious minorities and others.
General Abuse of and Discrimination against Christians
Tajikistan: A Christian pastor who was sentenced to three years in prison on the charge of âsinging extremist songs in church and so inciting religious hatred,â was released on December 18, 2020, after serving two-and-a-half years. In 2017, authorities had raided the Good News of Grace Protestant Church in Khujand. Many of the congregation were beat, lost their jobs, and faced other forms of repercussions in the wake of the raid on their church. Pastor Bakhrom Kholmatov, a 43-year-old married father of three, was then sentenced on the aforementioned charges. According to the report,
Officials claimed that Christian songs found on his computer and the book More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell are âextremist materials.â They alleged that religious âexpertsâ recognised the songs Praise God, O Unbelieving Country, Army of Christ and Our Battle is Not Against Blood and Flesh as ïżœïżœextremist and calling people to overthrow the government.â
âIâd like to express my huge gratitude to all the people who supported and prayed for me, my family and my church,â Kholmatov said in a statement. âAll these three years I felt your prayers, they helped me to stand, they helped my precious wife and children, they helped the members of my church who were left without a pastor, then kicked by the authorities out of our building.â
Iran: âThe Iranian regime has begun cracking down on evangelical Christians in Iran in the run-up to Christmas,â Al Arabiya reported on December 15. âSecurity officials routinely arrest Christian citizens during the Christmas season, according to the 2019 US Commission for International Religious Freedom report, which found the regime arrested 114 Christians during the first week of December in 2018.â  Dabrina Tamraz, who experienced persecution as a Christian before she managed to flee the Islamic republic nine years ago, shed light on the plight of Christians by recounting her own experiences: âChristmas celebrations make it easier for Iranian authorities to arrest a group of Christians at one time,â said the escapee who currently resides in Europe. During a family Christmas gathering in Tehran in 2014, âMy brother opened the door only to be confronted with about 30 plain clothes officers who pushed their way in. They separated men from women and conducted strip body searches. Three people, including my father, were arrested and charged with acting against national security and conducting evangelism.â The report adds that âThe Iranian government considers evangelismâthe sharing of the Christian faithâa criminal act.â
As another example of the persecution and discrimination Christians routinely experience around Christmas, the annual Armenian Christian market at Tehranâs Ararat Club, which was supposed to be held between Christmas Eve and the New Year, was canceled by officials. According to that report,
In a situation where the economy is declining and the business market is sluggish due to the policies of the Islamic Republic ⊠this cancellation for preventing âChristian propagandaâ is an irrational decision. The cancellation of the market, which is a clear sign of discrimination and inequality, has received widespread criticism in the Armenian community⊠Every year on the eve of Christmas, pressure on the Iranian Christian community by various government agencies is increasing, including arresting Christian activists, obstructing the business of Christian sellers, even those who sell Christmas decorations!âŠÂ Christian compatriots are subject to double discrimination, whether in the labor market, employment, job position or in violating their right to run private businesses.
Pakistan: âA 14-year-old Christian girl from Zia Colony, Karachi, was kidnapped, forcibly converted and married off to a Muslim man,â Asia Times reported on December 3. âOur daughters are insecure and abused in this country,â the mother of Huma Younus, explained. âThey are not safe anywhere. We leave them at schools or home but they are kidnapped, raped, humiliated, and forced to convert to Islam.â The eighth grade student was seen by neighbors being forcefully dragged into a car by three armed men. âShe was kidnapped by Abdul Jabar, a Muslim,â her father said. After the girlâs family went to police, Jabar sent documents to the family over WhatsApp: âHe asked us not to be worried for Huma as she is now his wife and has entered into Islamâ; however, âthe religious conversion documents are fake,â said the mother, noting that the date of the document of the 14-year-oldâs alleged conversion is the same date of her abduction. âMy daughterâs life is in danger. She could be tortured or killed. I beg the authorities to recover my daughter as soon as possible.â  âChristian girls are being abused and forcefully converted,â Fr. Saleh Diego, Director of the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Karachi, said while discussing this latest incident:
The kidnappers are misusing religion for their motives and spoiling the lives of hundreds of young girls from the marginalized Christian communityâŠ.Huma must be recovered with no further delay. This unethical and illegal practice must also be stopped and the kidnappers of Huma and other girls must be brought to justice and punished for their crimes.
To date, police and courts have largely been unresponsive. âAbducting for the purpose of forced conversion and marriage is a major issue in Pakistan,â Asia Times concludes. âMost of the victims are Christian and Hindu girls and young women, forced to wed against their will to much older Muslim men.â
United Nations: According to a December 4 CBN News report, âChristian Syrian refugees ⊠have been blocked from getting help from the United Nations Refugee Agency ⊠by Muslim UN officials in Jordan.â One of the refugees, Hasan, a Syrian convert to Christianity, explained that Muslim UN camp officials âknew that we were Muslims and became Christians and they dealt with us with persecution and mockery. They didnât let us into the office. They ignored our request.â âHasan and his family are now in hiding,â the report adds, âafraid that they will be arrested by Jordanian police, or even killed. Converting to Christianity is a serious crime in Jordan.â Timothy, another Jordanian Muslim convert to Christianity, confirmed: âAll of the United Nations officials [apparently in Jordan], most of them, 99 percent, they are Muslims, and they were treating us as enemies.â Addressing this issue, Paul Diamond, a British human rights lawyer, elaborated:
You have this absurd situation where the scheme is set up to help Syrian refugees and the people most in need, Christians who have been âgenocided,â they canât even get into the U.N. camps to get the food. If you enter and say I am a Christian or convert, the Muslim U.N. guards will block you [from] getting in and laugh at you and mock you and even threaten youâŠ. [saying] âYou shouldnât have converted. Youâre an idiot for converting. You get what you get,â words to that effect.

About this Series
The persecution of Christians in the Islamic world has become endemic. Accordingly, âMuslim Persecution of Christiansâ was developed in 2011 to collate someâby no means allâof the instances of persecution that occur or are reported each month. It serves two purposes:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, persecution of Christians.
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To show that such persecution is not ârandom,â but systematic and interrelatedâthat it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Islamic Sharia.
Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; apostasy, blasphemy, and proselytism laws that criminalize and sometimes punish with death those who âoffendâ Islam; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam;  theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (financial tribute expected from non-Muslims); overall expectations for Christians to behave like cowed dhimmis, or second-class, âtoleratedâ citizens; and simple violence and murder. Sometimes it is a combination thereof.
Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and localesâfrom Morocco in the West, to Indonesia in the Eastâit should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islamâwhether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.

Cameroon
Through the hills to Cameroon and Central Africa.
I then got lost.
I was so pleased and relieved to be back on the bike that I ploughed on my way happily without regular due regard to my maps. Amateur error. That negligence cost me. I lost the trail and was completely in the wrong place. The trails became increasingly gnarly and were often no more than footpaths, and none of them showed on the map. I fell twice, picking up some very respectable bruises the second time. Added to the difficult trails was the consideration that I might inadvertently cross the border and find myself in Cameroon without a passport stamp, as the villages I passed through seemed to alternate between belonging to Nigeria and belonging to Cameroon. After a while I paid a local to guide me to a village from where, if the maps were true, there was a track going in the right direction.Â
I finally made it to Mayo Darle in Cameroon and got my passport stamped. However, I also had to get a passavant stamped to bring my bike into the country (as with every country). The chap whose job it was to sign the passavant took nineteen hours to arrive. Yes. Nineteen.
I spent the night nearby at a military checkpoint with a friendly soldier, who took me out for some food.
Roderick chose the following morning to prove that he is now a fully-fledged rooster.
I had been alerted to this new and unwelcome development a couple of days before when Roderick started experimenting with his crowing. At the time I had thought his attempts impressive but with hindsight I realise he was just warming up and readying himself for a time when he was sharing a room with me (which is unusual) and a Cameroonian soldier. He started at 5.20am and was so pleased with himself and his new found ability that he did not let up for quite some time.Â
The police chief did not arrive to sign my passavant until 1pm.

He is a hero to many, but a notorious criminal to the Cameroonian government for vandalizing colonial era statues and monuments built by French colonialists in the economic capital Douala. 41-year-old Andre Blaise Essamadescribes himself as an activist who aims to replace all the colonial statues in the city with those of national heroes who fought for the bilingual countryâs independence. He gained national attention after he launched his campaign in 2015 when he beheaded the statue of French colonial hero General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque erected in Douala since the colonial era. He flaunted his conquest by sharing on his blog and on social media professional photographs of himself posing with the statueâs head. Essama was arrested and sentenced by a Douala-Bonanjo court to three months in prison and fined for âdestruction of public propertyâ after he pulled down the French colonial âstatue of the unknown soldierâ in the city centre days after the first âconquestâ. He demanded a statue of Ruben Um NyobĂ©Â be erected in those spots in honour of the anti-colonialist Cameroonian leader who was slain by the French army. In 2016, Andre Blaise Essama again beheaded the repaired statue of the French general which fetched him six months in jail after refusing an offer to pay for its repair instead of a prison term. A few months after his release from prison in December 2016, the activist erected a statue of John Ngu Foncha â a pivotal figure in the unification of the British and French Cameroons â at a busy intersection in the city. He was hailed by his growing supporters for erecting the statue which did not see the light of day. Unidentified angry looking policemen pulled the statue down in a few hours and dragged it away. https://face2faceafrica.com/article/cameroonian-nationalist-chopping-off-heads-colonial-statues-cameroon?fbclid=IwAR2bQNCdrGdDwoN7zU4_3Sxzk30CFUI3aThBSQlldMz3GV8B8TKbKCiB0rU https://www.instagram.com/p/ByGOKVvHGZK/?igshid=cqnif2j0lzag

DO NOT REBLOG WITHOUT PERMISSION.
Gerard CĂ©dric Berger-Lacroix is a 38-years-old African-European man. Born of a Cameroonian mother, Nadine Berger, and a French father, Cyril Lacroix, Gerard was mostly raised in France, his home city Strasbourg in the north-east of the country.
Since childhood Gerard had showed a disposition towards the military career, thanks to his love for precision, schedules and hard work; his family could not expect anything less, since the Lacroixâs had a military history of great relevance.
His studies were focused on his future as an operative soldier, the peak of it was the admission at the illustrious Ăcole spĂ©ciale militaire de Saint-Cyr where he impressed most of his superiors thanks to his dedication, his determination, his love for his country and his innate skill as a leader. Gerardâs military career started officially on his 22nd birthday as a special operative on the German-French border, where hundreds of rebellious omnics had formed a command centre. In six months, Gerardâs war merits gained him a place as his unitâs commander, and later commander of the entire platoon. What Gerard excelled at was covert ops, information gathering and espionage-oriented missions; he was offered a place in DGSE, Franceâs external intelligence agency, but he preferred to continue his career inside the military.
Gerardâs platoon worked closely with Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis, and in particular, due to its deployment, with Overwatch member Reinhardt Willhelm. When the war was won, Lacroixâs name was suggested as a member for the newly founded Overwatch covert team Blackwatch.
There, Gerard worked closely with Gabriel Reyes and Jack Morrison (under the callsign âProphĂšteâ) to flesh out the team and its objective; and it became clear that one of Blackwatchâs main objectives had to be stopping Talon.
Shortly after, in Paris, Gerard met the Ă©toile ballerina AmĂ©lie Guillard. He was 27. In a year, he and AmĂ©lie got married. In the meanwhile, Gerardâs career inside the organization proceeded fast. Thanks to his successful operations devised against Talon, Lacroix was assigned his own squad, named Overwatch Anti-Terrorism Division (OWATD) whose duty was to operate espionage and counter-espionage missions against major terroristic organizations (Talon, BeznÄ, and several others); to put it in Morrisonâs words, Gerardâs division was âBlackwatchâs public façadeâ. For five years Gerard (known as âLe Ătrangerâ) had been more than a thorn in Talonâs side, costing their criminal empire great losses in money and operatives. Talonâs counter-attack didnât take long though: AmĂ©lie, Gerardâs wife, was kidnapped and Gerard moved heaven and earth to retrieve her from their hands.
Bringing her home, anyhow, didnât help Gerard to cope with his burning sense of failure and disappointment in himself⊠on the contrary, it only caused him more fears. Gerard was not, indeed, a fool, for just a fool would think Talon would give up the ace up their sleeve so easily as they had given up on AmĂ©lie. He hated himself for thinking ill of his wife, yet he could not rest at night, watching her ever so peacefully closing her eyes and cuddle next to him. You are just being paranoiac, elle est ta mignonne AmĂ©lie, Gerard. And yet, she had that gaze⊠Lacroix made a deal with an old friend of his, Jean Dupont, now working for France SS; had Gerard stopped reporting for more than six hours, he had to be considered dead. AmĂ©lie attempted to poison Gerard on Christmas day. Gerard was 33. Thankfully, Jean rescued Gerard before it was too late, but there was no turning back for AmĂ©lie. And, in a certain way, for Gerard too.
Overwatch declared him and Amélie dead. The first hypothesis formulated involved Talon in the murder of the Lacroix spouses. Gerard never bothered to correct Overwatch; Gerard was no longer Gerard indeed.
Born again with the name âLe Penduâ, Gerardâs only life goal is to destroy Talon piece by piece to pay them back for the existence they robbed him of⊠and to bring AmĂ©lie back. He has raided one of Talonâs facilities in Europe, only to acquire insight and data on Project Widowmaker. In this occasion, Gerard has stolen the blueprints of Widowmakerâs Recon Visor.

Mysterious Delivery to Cameroon
9 June 2024
Reports out of Cameroon show that a ship bearing the Israeli flag was recently docked at the port of Cameroon, transporting "a lot of delivery crates". While the contents of the crates is unknown, soldiers from the Cameroonian army were seen receiving them.
A citizen on the seen state, "the military presence seems a little weird, but I can smell the wafts of sweet, sweet grapes from the ship. Is the army having some sort of fruity party?"

Who Sampled Who?- Quotation or Interpolation
Well, Shakira sampled Golden Sounds (also known as Zangalewa), a makossa group from Cameroon in her 2010 Fifa World Cup hit, Waka Waka (Esto es Africa).
youtube
Though it sparked some controversy by South Africans who were hoping for South African musicians to be chosen as headliners for the event, this song achieved became popular all over the worldâ I was in Colombia during this event and believe me, this song played everywhere we went. Apparently, the original song (below) was also popular in Colombia in the 80s (known there as âThe Militaryâ) when it was brought to the country by West African DJsâ not surprising information since Shakira was born in 1977.
youtube
While it doesnât use direct audio from the song, Shakira sings the main chorus (in another key) of the song and the main rhythm of the original song has been recreated, also combining it with some Colombian/Latin American rhythms. The chord structure for the song has also been kept throughout the verses that Shakira and the South African Afro-fusion band, Freshlyground, added.Â
Even some of the original imagery of the song was kept. The original song is by the band, Golden Sounds, which was made up of Cameroonian military members and (though the ultimate meaning is debated) it is essentially the lament of a soldier. Shakiraâs lyrics uses imagery of someone preparing for battle, though of course relating it to being on the soccer field.Â
Both are fun songsâ I think Shakira was definitely onto something in sampling this song since it was so popular in the 80âČs in her home country, and continued to be popular in many parts of Africa for years following.Â
