Soul Ties — C•Sturniolo
Chapter 1: A night to remember and a morning to forget.
Chris Sturniolo x Bambi!Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: PTSD, Panick attack, swearing, Chris attacks Bambi etc.
Summary: Chris meets Bambi for the first time
The apartment was warm, dimly lit with the soft glow of fairy lights that Zara had strung up months ago. The scent of vanilla lingered in the air, mixing with the faint aroma of popcorn from their earlier movie night. It was peaceful—the kind of night that made Bambi feel safe, wrapped in the familiarity of her best friends.
She was curled up in the corner of the couch, knees pulled to her chest, wrapped in one of Nick’s oversized hoodies. She liked how it swallowed her whole, the sleeves hanging past her fingertips, the fabric soft and worn from too many washes. It smelled like Nick’s detergent, something fresh and clean. Comforting.
Zara was sprawled out beside her, head tilted against the cushions as she absentmindedly scrolled through her phone, occasionally showing Bambi random memes that made her giggle.
Nick, however, was seated on the floor, cross-legged, meticulously cleaning his camera lens with the kind of focus that made Bambi hesitant to interrupt. His brow was furrowed in concentration, tongue poking out slightly as he carefully wiped the glass with a microfiber cloth.
But curiosity won.
“You’re really careful with that,” Bambi murmured, watching him with wide eyes.
Nick didn’t glance up. “My camera is my baby. If something happens to it, I die.”
Zara smirked, lowering her phone. “Dramatic much?”
“Not at all,” Nick countered, finally looking up. “You know what’s dramatic? The way Bambi still won’t admit she’s curious about sex.”
Bambi’s eyes widened in horror. “Nick!”
Zara cackled, tossing her phone onto the coffee table as she turned to face Bambi fully, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Oh, this is about to be fun.”
Bambi groaned, sinking deeper into the hoodie as if it could somehow make her disappear. “Why do you always have to bring this up?”
Nick turned to her fully, smirking. “Because it’s fascinating.”
Bambi scowled. “It’s not that fascinating. I just think it’s—”
“Special,” Nick finished for her, rolling his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard this speech a thousand times.”
Zara grinned. “I don’t think you get it, Nick. She’s like a rare breed of young adults.”
Bambi groaned, covering her face with her hands. “Oh my god.”
Nick laughed, nudging her knee. “Come on, Bambi. Don’t tell me you never think about it.”
Bambi huffed, but couldn’t help a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “I just think it’s special…a soul tie.”
She felt a strange warmth at their teasing. Then the mood shifted, and she felt like opening up.
Zara put her phone down, intrigued. “What’s that?”
Nick raised an eyebrow, clearly confused. “Soul ties?”
Bambi nodded slowly, her gaze fixed on the floor. “Yeah. It’s this idea that when you share something with someone… like a connection, or even sex, it can leave a mark on your soul. Like a part of them becomes a part of you, no matter what happens after. You can have a piece of someone’s energy tied to yours forever. Like a bond that doesn’t go away.”
Zara and Nick both fell silent, taking in her words. Nick was the first to speak up, though his tone was gentle, almost cautious. “So… you think that every time someone shares something like that with someone else, it’s… permanent?”
Bambi nodded. “Yeah. It’s not just physical. It’s like the emotional and spiritual side of things gets tangled up too. I think that’s why people get so hurt after a breakup. Or even after a casual hookup. If there’s no real connection, that bond is still there, and it messes with you.”
Zara furrowed her brows. “I don’t know, Bambi. That sounds intense. Like… everything we do is forever?”
Bambi bit her lip, unsure how to explain. “I guess so. It’s not something I think most people are aware of. But I’ve always believed that, when you open yourself to someone like that, you’re letting them into parts of you that not everyone should see. And when it’s over, they still have a piece of you. Sometimes, that’s what makes letting go so hard. Because no matter how much you want to, they’ll always have that piece of you. A soul tie is like… a permanent reminder of someone.”
Nick leaned back, crossing his arms, as if weighing what she said. “So, if that’s true, how do you handle it? How do you… get rid of it if you don’t want someone’s energy connected to yours anymore?”
Bambi hesitated, her mind spinning with the question. “I don’t really think you can. I think people try to bury it, or ignore it. They move on to someone else and hope it’ll go away. But deep down, I think it’s still there. You can’t just erase a piece of someone’s soul from yours. Maybe you can numb it, but it’s there.”
Zara leaned forward, her expression softening. “I get what you mean now. But… isn’t that kind of heavy to carry around all the time?”
Bambi let out a breath, her eyes meeting Zara’s. “It is. But I think… I don’t know. I think it’s worth it if you really care about someone. If the connection is real. But if it’s not, you end up carrying around this baggage you didn’t even ask for.”
Nick, who had been unusually quiet, finally spoke. “But don’t you think… it’s hard to trust anyone if you believe in that? Like, you’d always be scared of what might happen if you get close to someone.”
Bambi nodded slowly, her voice barely audible. “Maybe. But I think it’s better to be careful. To understand what you’re giving away when you open yourself up to someone.”
The room fell silent again, and the weight of her words seemed to linger in the air. For a long moment, no one said anything, all lost in their own thoughts.
Finally, Nick burst out laughing“You’re too pure for this world.. If soul ties exist, then my soul must be like a knotted iphone charger.”
Bambi rolled her eyes, but her lips twitched.
Nick’s teasing expression softened just a little. “I mean…fair enough. Guys are the worst.”
Zara nodded in agreement. “That’s why I prefer to be the problem in my relationships, sometimes i feel sorry for Matt.”
Bambi giggled, but before she could respond, Nick’s phone vibrated loudly against the coffee table, making all three of them jump.
Nick sighed dramatically, rolling his eyes before picking it up. “Ugh. Of course it’s Matt.”
Zara raised a brow. “See, we’re so interlinked, i say his name and he calls. Anyway, what does want now?”
Nick put the phone on speaker. “Let’s find out.”
The second the call connected, Matt’s voice came through, slightly strained. “Nick.”
Nick frowned. “Why do you sound stressed?”
Matt sighed. “I need a favor.”
Nick immediately groaned. “Why do I already regret this?”
“It’s Chris.”
Nick visibly tensed, his jaw clenching. “Nope. Absolutely not.”
“Nick—”
“Matt, I do not care if Chris got himself in trouble. He’s an idiot, and I refuse to babysit him.”
Matt sighed. “He’s drunk. Really drunk. And I can’t leave the party to take him home.”
Nick scoffed. “Then let him sleep on the floor.”
“Nick.”
Nick scrubbed a hand down his face. “This is not my problem.”
Matt’s voice softened. “Come on. Just get him back to the apartment. You don’t even have to talk to him.”
Nick hesitated.
Bambi tugged on his sleeve gently. “Maybe we should help?”
Nick turned to her, exasperated. “Bambi, do you know who we’re talking about? Chris Sturniolo. My menace of a brother. The one I can’t stand.”
Bambi shrugged. “Still. If it were you that needed help, Matt would do it, right?”
Nick scowled. “That’s not the point. You’ve never met him Bambi, you don’t know how much of an ass he is, weather Matt would have helped me or not isn’t the point here!”
Zara smirked. “It kind of is.”
Nick groaned again. He brought the phone back to his ear. “Fine. But if he throws up in my car, I swear to God—”
Matt chuckled, relief evident in his voice. “Thanks, man. I owe you. And tell Zara I love her!”
Nick hung up, tossing his phone onto the couch. He stood, stretching dramatically.
Zara grinned. “You’re a good brother.”
Nick scoffed, grabbing his keys. “No, I’m a sucker.”
Zara leaned back, smirking. “Same thing.”
As Nick stomped toward the door, he turned back, pointing at Bambi and Zara. “If I don’t come back in one piece, sue him.”
Bambi giggled. Zara saluted him mockingly.
Nick rolled his eyes before disappearing out the door.
As soon as he was gone, Zara turned to Bambi, grinning. “So… back to the virginity thing.”
Bambi groaned.

Bambi woke up slowly, the apartment unusually quiet.
The soft morning light seeped through the blinds, casting warm golden streaks across her room. She blinked a few times, groggy but content, stretching her arms above her head before pushing the blankets off. Everything felt still—eerily so. Usually, by now, she’d hear Nick blasting music or Zara talking on the phone. But today, nothing.
Frowning, she slipped out of bed and padded barefoot into the living room, still wrapped in the comfort of Nick’s hoodie.
As soon as she stepped out of her room, her eyebrows furrowed.
There was a guy sprawled out on the couch, last night’s clothes wrinkled, brown hair a complete mess. His hoodie had ridden up slightly, revealing a sliver of toned stomach. His breathing was slow, steady, almost peaceful, and he wore a sliver chain with a letter hanging from it.
C.
Bambi froze.
Nick didn’t talk about his youngest brother much—except to complain. She had never actually met Chris before. She knew of him, had heard the arguments, the sighs of frustration whenever Nick mentioned his name. But seeing him in person was… different.
He looked normal. Not like the reckless troublemaker Nick always made him out to be.
Curiosity tugged at her.
She took a cautious step closer, careful not to make a sound.
And then—
Chris stirred.
His eyes snapped open and looked straight at her. His blue eyes met her brown ones and for a moment, they just started at each other.
Bambi barely had a second to react before he lunged.
A scream tore from her throat as she was tackled to the floor, her back hitting the rug with a painful thud.
Chris pinned her down, his grip strong, His hands were wrapped around her wrists, pressing them into the floor on either side of her head.
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!” he roared, his voice sharp and filled with panic.
Her heart stopped.
Memories—dark, twisted, suffocating—flooded her mind.
Hands grabbing her.
A dark room.
Trapped.
She couldn’t breathe.
Her body locked up, trembling uncontrollably. The weight of him pressing her down sent her spiraling, suffocating in a past she had worked so hard to escape.
Her vision blurred. Her chest tightened.
“I SAID, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?” He screamed even louder this time, lifting her body before knocking her back into the wall again.
She gasped, but no air came.
Then—
“WHAT THE FUCK?!”
Nick’s door slammed open so hard it nearly came off its hinges. Zara already spiriting to them from across the hall.
Within seconds, Nick grabbed Chris by the collar and ripped him off her, shoving him backward so hard that he stumbled against the couch.
Bambi gasped for air, curling in on herself, her hands shaking violently.
Zara was beside her in an instant, her touch gentle but firm as she gripped Bambi’s shoulders. “Hey, hey, look at me.” Her voice was softer now, controlled.
But Bambi couldn’t.
The walls felt like they were closing in, her heartbeat erratic, the sound of it pounding in her ears like a deafening drum.
Zara grabbed her hand, squeezing lightly. “Bambi, breathe.”
She tried.
She really tried.
But her chest was too tight, her lungs refusing to expand.
“God, Chris, what the fuck is wrong with you?!” Nick’s voice boomed, sharp and furious.
Chris, still dazed, ran a hand through his hair. “What the hell was that?”
Nick snapped. “Are you fucking serious? You attacked her!”
Chris scoffed. “I thought she was kidnapping me!”
“OH MY FUCKING GOD.” Nick threw his hands in the air. “In what world does a girl in a goddamn oversized hoodie look like a kidnapper?”
Chris clenched his jaw. “I woke up in an unfamiliar place with a stranger standing over me! What the hell was I supposed to think?”
“Maybe don’t go feral and tackle the first person you see?!”
“I was disoriented!” Chris snapped, shoving Nick off him. “Not my fucking fault!”
Nick shoved him back. “YES, IT IS YOUR FAULT, YOU IDIOT.”
Zara pressed a calming hand against Bambi’s back, her voice soft. “Shh, ignore them. Focus on me, babe. Deep breaths.”
Bambi clenched her eyes shut, forcing herself to inhale, her breaths coming out in uneven stutters.
“In through your nose, out through your mouth,” Zara instructed gently, rubbing slow circles against Bambi’s back.
She tried again.
It wasn’t easy.
Her entire body was trembling, adrenaline still coursing through her veins. But Zara’s touch was grounding, keeping her tethered to the present.
Meanwhile—
Nick and Chris were still screaming at each other.
“I SWEAR TO GOD, CHRIS, YOU’RE SO FUCKING STUPID—”
“IT WAS A FUCKING MISTAKE, NICK—”
“A MISTAKE?! SHE’S LITERALLY HAVING A PANIC ATTACK BECAUSE OF YOU—”
Chris hesitated at that. His eyes flickered toward Bambi, still curled against Zara, her breaths coming in short, shaky gasps.
For the first time, something in his expression shifted.
Guilt.
Nick, however, was not done. “You always do this, Chris! You don’t think! You act like the whole fucking world revolves around you, and when shit goes wrong, you just brush it off like it’s nothing!”
Chris clenched his fists. “That’s not fair.”
Nick laughed, but it wasn’t amused. It was sharp, bitter. “Oh, please. You never take responsibility for anything! You make shit harder for everyone and then act shocked when we don’t wanna deal with your bullshit!”
Chris’s jaw tightened, his posture rigid. “I didn’t mean to hurt her.”
Nick snapped. “BUT YOU DID.”
Chris looked away.
Bambi, feeling the tension spike even higher, squeezed her eyes shut.
Her chest tightened again.
Too much.
Too loud.
Too familiar.
Her fingers twitched. Her breath hitched.
The room started to spin.
Then—

The next thing she knew, there was warmth. A steady pressure against her palm.
She blinked.
The ceiling. The fairy lights.
A voice.
“Bambi?”
Her eyes fluttered, adjusting to the dim glow.
Matt.
He was sitting beside her on the couch, holding her hand. His expression was gentle—concerned but patient.
“You back?” he asked softly.
Her throat was dry. She swallowed.
“I—” Her voice cracked.
“Here.” Zara pressed a cold water bottle into her hands.
Bambi’s fingers felt clumsy as she lifted it, taking a small sip. The cool liquid soothed her throat, grounding her.
“You scared us there for a sec,” Matt murmured. “You passed out.”
Bambi blinked. “I… did?”
Zara nodded, brushing a few loose curls away from Bambi’s face. “Yeah. It was a lot.”
“Zara called me, i’ve never heard he so angry at anyone…ever.” Nick said, causing Zara to smile slightly.
Bambi swallowed, glancing toward the kitchen.
Nick was still yelling.
Chris looked tense, jaw locked, arms crossed.
Nick, however, was furious.
“IF YOU EVER FUCKING TOUCH HER AGAIN—”
“Nick,” Matt interrupted, his voice firm but calm. “Enough.”
Nick turned to his brother, eyes blazing. “Are you seriously defending him right now?”
Matt exhaled. “No. But Bambi needs quiet.”
Nick hesitated. His gaze flickered toward Bambi.
She looked tired. Small.
Nick clenched his jaw, but he backed down.
Chris, however, was still watching her.
She felt his gaze like a weight, pressing against her skin.
She met his eyes for the first time.
He swallowed, then muttered, “I’m sorry.”
Bambi didn’t respond.
She wasn’t sure she could.
Matt sighed before lifting her up, carrying her bridal style into her bedroom. Zara followed them, leaving Nick to yell at Chris. Matt layed her in bed, while Zara strolled her curls
“Go back to sleep Bambi.”
she didn’t have to be told twice. Bambi closed her eyes and went to bed.

The apartment was quiet when Bambi stirred awake. The faint hum of the city outside buzzed through the thin walls, but inside, everything was still. Warm. Peaceful.
For a moment, she felt safe.
Then, she felt it.
A presence.
Her lashes fluttered open, and the first thing she saw was a pair of blue eyes—watching her.
Bambi sucked in a sharp breath, her body instantly tensing.
“Now you know how it feels to wake up and find someone watching you.”
Chris was sitting on the floor beside the bed , legs crossed, arms resting on his knees. He was watching her. Studying her. His expression was unreadable, but the moment she stirred, his gaze flickered with something—hesitation? Guilt?
Either way, it made her uneasy.
She shrank back instinctively, curling into herself.
Chris sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. “Relax, Bambi. I’m not gonna tackle you again.”
Her stomach clenched at the nickname. The way it rolled off his tongue so effortlessly, as if he had always called her that.
Bambi’s voice was hoarse when she finally spoke. “Why are you staring at me?”
Chris exhaled. “I was waiting for you to wake up.”
That didn’t exactly ease her nerves.
She frowned, shifting uncomfortably under his gaze. “Why?”
Chris hesitated, glancing away for a moment before his jaw clenched, as if he was forcing himself to say something difficult. Then, with a sigh, he rubbed the back of his neck and muttered, “I… wanted to apologize.”
Bambi blinked.
That was the last thing she expected.
He huffed when she didn’t say anything. “Look, I know I scared the shit out of you this morning. And I—” He exhaled, gaze flickering back to hers. “I didn’t mean to. I was just… disoriented. I woke up in a random place, saw a stranger standing over me, and—” He clenched his fists. “I freaked out.”
Bambi swallowed, pulling the blanket tighter around herself. “I wasn’t going to hurt you.”
Chris sighed. “I know that now.”
Silence stretched between them.
Bambi wasn’t sure what to say. His apology sounded genuine, but the residual fear from this morning still sat heavy in her chest.
She wet her lips. “I—” She hesitated, voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t like being grabbed.”
Chris stiffened. His blue eyes sharpened slightly, reading between the lines of her quiet confession.
Something unreadable flashed across his face.
Regret?
Understanding?
He didn’t press for details.
Instead, he nodded slowly. “I won’t touch you again.”
Bambi let out a small breath, relief washing over her.
Chris shifted, stretching his legs out in front of him. “Nick’s still pissed.”
Bambi huffed softly. “That’s nothing new.”
Chris smirked slightly at that. “True.”
For a moment, it almost felt… normal.
Like he wasn’t the same guy who had terrified her earlier.
Like he wasn’t Nick’s reckless, arrogant younger brother.
Just… Chris.
He studied her again, tilting his head slightly. “You really do look like a Bambi, y’know.”
Bambi bit her lip, unsure how to respond to that.
Chris grinned, but it wasn’t as cocky as before. “It suits you.”
She wasn’t sure why, but for the first time since meeting him—she didn’t completely mind the nickname.
Bambi stared at him for a long moment, her thoughts swirling. His apology, though simple, was enough to settle the edge of fear gnawing at her. She wasn’t sure if she could fully trust him yet, but something in his eyes told her he wasn’t the monster she’d feared.
For the first time, Chris wasn’t the arrogant, rude guy Nick had painted him to be. He was… just human. Vulnerable, even. And Bambi could relate to that. But in that moment, she believed him.Maybe he wasn’t a bad person. He’d just made a mistake. And everyone made those.
Chris seemed to sense her hesitation and offered her a small smile. It wasn’t the cocky grin she had come to associate with him, but something more sincere.
“I’m really sorry, Bambi,” he said again, the words coming out more slowly this time.
She nodded in response, her voice barely above a whisper. “Thank you.”
They sat in silence for a while, the atmosphere far less tense than it had been earlier. Bambi allowed herself to relax, her heart rate slowing as Chris didn’t make any further moves to intimidate or make her feel unsafe.
Eventually, the front door creaked open.
Nick entered, looking like he hadn’t slept a wink, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the room. His gaze immediately landed on Chris, his jaw tightening. “You’re still here?”
Chris stood up quickly, brushing himself off. “I was just apologizing. Relax.”
Nick shot him a pointed look. “I don’t want you anywhere near her again.”
Bambi felt a pang in her chest, but she caught Chris’ eye as he straightened up, the smallest of smiles playing at his lips. He didn’t seem rattled by Nick’s hostility. He wasn’t backing down, but he wasn’t being aggressive, either.
“I told her I wouldn’t touch her again,” Chris said evenly. “So, you can stop being the overprotective brother for a minute.”
Nick glared at him. “I don’t care if you’re sorry. You don’t get to scare her like that.”
Zara, who had just walked in behind Nick, shot him a look before addressing Bambi. “Are you okay?” she asked, her voice warm and reassuring as she took a seat next to Bambi.
Bambi nodded slowly. “Yeah. I think so.”
Zara shot Chris a pointed look, but said nothing. Chris, to his credit, remained silent too, the weight of Nick’s anger still hanging in the air.
“You’re lucky she’s even speaking to you,” Nick spat. “If you were anyone else, I’d have kicked you out myself.”
Chris rolled his eyes, clearly unbothered by Nick’s fury. “Well, lucky for you, I’m not anyone else.”
Bambi watched the two of them—Chris, calm but firm, and Nick, his face tight with frustration. Despite the tension, she felt a small flicker of something between them. A hint of understanding. Maybe, just maybe, they could get along after all.
“Okay, okay,” Zara interrupted, trying to ease the situation. “We’re not going to fight. Not today. How about we all just… breathe, yeah?”
Nick shot Zara a sharp look, but even he seemed to relax slightly at her words.
“I’m just making sure she’s safe,” Nick muttered, running a hand through his messy hair.
Zara put a hand on his shoulder, her voice gentle. “I know you are. But Bambi’s a big girl. She can speak for herself.”
Bambi offered Zara a small smile, appreciating her friend’s protective nature. She wasn’t sure she could ever feel completely comfortable with Chris—not yet—but she could tell that with time, things might get easier.
Chris stood up straight, his expression softening as he looked at her once more. “I’ll go.” he said to Nick, before turning his gaze to Bambi. “
As Chris turned to leave, Matt walked in, looking at his brothers with a raised eyebrow.
“Everything okay in here?” Matt asked, his voice calm but curious. Matt shot a glance at Chris. “You okay?”
Chris shrugged. “Yeah. I’m good. Just… leaving.”
With that, Chris grabbed his jacket, muttering something to Matt before heading for the door.
Bambi exhaled slowly, her heart still racing, but in a different way now.
As the door clicked shut behind Chris, the room seemed to relax. Nick slumped into the armchair with a groan, throwing his head back dramatically.
“Ugh, I swear, I’m gonna lose my mind dealing with him.”
Zara shook her head, but smiled. “You need to chill. He apologized.”
Nick scoffed. “Yeah, well, actions speak louder than words.”
Bambi chuckled softly at that, surprising herself. It felt nice to hear Nick’s usual banter after everything. The room had returned to some kind of normalcy, and she could breathe easier now.
Zara leaned over and squeezed her shoulder. “You okay?”
Bambi nodded, her eyes meeting Zara’s. “Yeah. I think I’m going to be.”
Zara smiled warmly. “Good. Just remember, we’ve got your back. Always.”
Bambi returned the smile, her heart swelling with gratitude. Even with Chris’s rocky start, things were beginning to feel a little more manageable. She wasn’t sure what would happen next with him, but for the first time today, she felt a flicker of hope.
She might just make it through this.
And maybe—just maybe—Chris wasn’t as bad as she had initially thought.
This first chapter is really bad but it gets better, I promise. If you have any questions or thoughts about any of the characters
luv Ya,

Americano PT. 1 | Jude Bellingham x Reader
Tumblr media
What happens if two individuals who absolutely despise each other are forced to interact after unforeseen events occur?
A/N: part one is here, enjoy! <3
W/C: 3.398
Introduction
Tumblr media
"Can you try smiling this time?"
I mumble, holding myself back from rolling my eyes in annoyance. I click my tongue, standing behind Luis, my close friend and cameraman.
"The photo needs to be edited later, for sure. Looks a little off compared to the others." I tell Luis, sending an insult to the man in front of the camera, in English for him to hear.
Even so, Luis and I usually spoke English to each other. It being a language we were both very well versed in.
Jude doesn't even look like he wants to be here, at all. He wouldn't be the only one, that was for sure.
"That's good enough, Bellingham. You can go." I say, folding my arms up to my chest.
"Finally." He mutters, rolling his eyes, the Brummie accent, which was quite new to me, rolling off his tongue.
He raises his hands, smoothing down his shirt, before nodding at Luis with a smile and leaving, not acknowledging me per usual.
"Douchebag." I mumble, solely for myself to hear, but I notice Luis glancing at me.
"What?" I ask, rolling the papers in my hands into a tube out of boredom. The letters curving with the bend of the paper.
"You two are becoming more insufferable every day." He says, going to wipe his camera lens with a microfiber cloth. He treated his cameras like his actual children.
"Not my fault." I reply through clenched teeth, placing a hand on my hip.
"You spilled an entire americano on his brand new, white kit. On his first day here." He says, recalling the embarrassing and aggravating incident.
"It was just an accident!" I retort, unfolding the papers again. "We could have moved on from that after I apologized, but he's decided to be an asshole about it."
So, who was the insufferable one here?
He doesn't say anything else, an uninterested sigh leaving his lips as he distracts himself with the lens.
I saw Luis as the older brother I never had, but he wasn't even taking my side in the situation.
Traitor.
I huff, turning away and looking around the pitch for some entertainment I could turn into content.
My eyes catch the players of the club warming up a couple meters away.
Easy content, my favorite.
"Can I get a camera?" I nudge Luis, his eyes looking up at mine.
"Should I trust you with one?" He says, voice unsure.
"Yes, just give me the smaller one." I usher, holding my hand out in anticipation.
He sighs again, grabbing the requested camera out of his equipment bag.
"Two hands." He mutters.
I roll my eyes, grabbing the camera with the apparently very necessary, two hands.
"I'll take care of your child." I mock, smile tugging at my lips as I see him get annoyed.
"Chill, I've got it." I add, walking away from him.
I was being serious, of course.
Firstly, I wanted these shots to come out perfectly. Secondly, I didn't want to get killed by him for ruining his precious camera. I had enough enemies in this club already. Losing an ally wasn't on my bingo list this season.
I turn the camera on clumsily, pointing it at the training players as I'm standing behind the goal.
How the hell does a small camera weigh this much? It genuinely felt like a bag of rocks weighing down on my arms.
I try to ignore the heaviness of the camera, filming the individual shooting of the players. Moving the camera when necessary.
I stand there for a moment, before I hear Luis come up to me, finally taking the camera out of my hands.
"How the hell do you even hold these cameras? My arm almost went numb." I say, rubbing my tired arm as I look at him.
"I go to the gym, unlike you- and I'm used to it by now." He replies, focusing on filming.
The urge to say something petty back is interrupted as Camavinga suddenly yells at us, our heads snapping up.
« Tu filmes? » are you filming?
He shouts in French, standing in his position.
I used to whine and complain about having to take French back in school, but now I was genuinely grateful for it. It was very useful now, even though I had forgotten a great chunk of it.
"Want us to?" I shout back in English, ignoring the fact that we are shouting back and forth like maniacs. He nods, giving us a thumbs up.
"Yeah, go ahead." I nudge Luis, making him film again. I grab him, making him take a step back for safety, watching Cama receive the ball and shoot, hitting the net perfectly.
I cheer quietly, not wanting to disturb the audio of the footage as he smiles back at me, walking back to stand and watch the other players.
I have been working in the marketing and PR department at Real Madrid for about two years now. The club and players were generally very nice to work with, which made my job so much better.
It wasn't my permanent job. I had just started my third year of my law degree this new school year, combining online classes with this job. Balancing did get difficult at times, but I liked the fact that it kept me busy and motivated.
"Think we're good to go." Luis says, interrupting my thoughts as he points his camera downward.
"You sure?" I ask, whipping my head around.
"Yeah, the sun is about to melt us and the camera. Come on, let's go inside." He says, grabbing my wrist and dragging me away from the pitch
Tumblr media
"If you read this sentence, does it sound like I know what I'm talking about?" I ask Lina, her face scrunching up almost instantly.
I was confident enough to write this essay on my own, really, but having a friend keep me company made it way more fun.
"You know I don't like thinking about school. That's in the past for me." She says, her hands coming up in front of her defensively.
"Come on, please? I'll grab a drink for you in a minute." I beg, placing my hands on her shoulders, shaking her back and forth.
"Make it two."
"Deal."
"Okay, show me." She says, shoving a piece of pineapple into her mouth, grabbing my laptop and leaning forward as I repeat the question.
She types away for a second, adding a few words before turning to me after reading the sentence again.
"What are you writing? The damn Magna Carta? What kind of essay is this?" She asks, her eyebrows raised.
"It's about EU law." I sigh, I liked this subject, it was very interesting, but I couldn't wait to be done with this fifteen page essay.
"Explains a lot." She says, shoving another piece of fruit into her mouth. Her fork suddenly appearing in front of my face, a piece of watermelon spiced onto it.
"Thanks." I mutter, biting off the piece of fruit as I hear commotion in the hallways.
"Get me my drinks, please?" She asks, blinking at me. I roll my eyes, push my laptop back and get up.
"Let me guess, a lime soda and an orange juice?"
"You got it." She winks, smiling at me.
I chuckle at her, looking up as I watch the players pile into the cafeteria.
"Lunchtime?" I mouth at Lina, she checks the time on her phone, nodding.
I make my way to the bar, extending my arms up to grab two cups. The feeling of someone's hand on mine catching me off guard as I immediately let go of the cup. Turning around to see Jude right behind me.
"What are you doing?" I ask, sending him a nasty look. Invading my personal space wasn't enough, now he wants to steal my cup?
"Grabbing a cup?" He retorts in a menacing tone, sending a glare back.
I look at him, watching him fill his stolen cup with water, before he looks at me again.
"What?"
"Can you move?" I ask through gritted teeth, motioning to him how he's basically entrapping me in between the counter and himself.
He looks at me for a second as if to provoke me more, finally stepping away when I sigh.
I scoff, rolling my eyes and extend my arm to grab another cup apart from the one I already had.
I give him another nasty look, before filling both cups up and finally leaving his vicinity.
"Don't spill it on anyone." He says, mocking tone clear as day.
I turn again, fighting the urge to throw the precious orange juice into his annoying face before sighing and walking away.
"Hope he chokes on his water." I mutter, finally putting the two cups down on the table, in front of Lina.
"What was that back there? Another one of your tantrums?"
"No, his tantrum after he couldn't grab another cup, other than the one my hand was already on."
She chuckles, and I send her a slight glare, trying to delve back into my essay.
I was maybe halfway through already, having to hand it in next week. I might have procrastinated a little, but one thing about me was that I'll always get it done on time. No matter what.
Though, as I keep reading the word vomit I had written, I feel a wave of annoyance flow through me. I grunt, putting my face flat on the table.
Two more years, then I could finally do my specialization. Two more years.
"What's gotten into her?" I hear, recognizing Luis' voice. Then I hear a shift of the chair across from me as he sits down with- probably a tray of food.
"Essay." I hear Lina mumble, a hum coming from Luis in acknowledgment.
"Are you still not done with that essay? You got it assigned like three weeks ago." He says in a nagging tone.
I groan, remembering that I said that I wouldn't procrastinate this school year. Past me definitely hated the present me, and for sure hated future me even more if I kept this up.
I raise my head, huffing before sitting up straight.  I blink a couple times to clear my vision and start to vigorously type again.
"Have you guys seen the final edit for tomorrow's match?" Luis says, covering his full mouth with his hand.
"No, who approved it?" I ask confused, glancing at the both of them and returning my gaze to my screen.
"Valeria did." He says. I look at him for a moment, scrunching my eyebrows together.
"Not surprised." I mutter, taking a sip of my coffee.
"Speaking of the devil." Lina says, and my eyes immediately dart around the room to find the devil in question.
She's staring right at our table, making a beeline towards us as the clicks of her heels get louder and louder.
Please don't sit here.
She gives us a painfully fake smile, swinging the iPad in her hand back and forth.
"Have you guys seen the edit I approved?"
Not even a hello?
"No, we haven't." Lina answers, and I stare at Valeria as she unfortunately sits across from me.
She chuckles, practically shoving the IPad in our faces, showing off the edit.
"It's perfect, isn't it?" She chuckles again, and I fight the urge to cover my ears instead of hearing her ear deafening, high-pitched laughter.
"It's alright." I say, giving her a smile. My opinion really didn't matter to her anyway, the least I could do was pretend to like it.
She nods, suddenly looking directly at me, glancing down at my laptop.
"Still working on school? Can't even think of how someone like you can balance it with this busy job." She says, smile pulling at her lips.
I raise my brows, looking at Lina and Luis for confirmation of what I had just heard her say.
They give me the same 'what the fuck' look, and I look back at Valeria, giving her a fake smile.
"I'm sure you couldn't think of it, Valeria." I say, keeping my retort minimal, I had to keep it professional, unlike her.
She looks at me, no words are exchanged further as an almost minute long silence follows.
She finally decides to leave after, sending both Luis and Lina a wave, doing her best to ignore me further.
"She's so weird. Always on my ass about something." I mutter, starting to type again.
"Don't think she's gotten over the fact that you were chosen to travel with the team this season." Lina says, patting my shoulder.
"Well, too bad for her. Like I've got time for her petty conversations."
If I was being honest; I couldn't stand being within five meters of her. And with the amount of meetings we had together, made life a little more difficult than I would've liked.
"Besides, you're coming with me. Why isn't she on your ass as well?" I ask Luis, seeing him shrug.
"Because I'm handsome?" He smirks, starting to flex his arms.
"She's annoying, but she doesn't have a vision problem." I hear Lina say, the both of us bursting out in laughter. Luis looking at us with the most defeated look ever, making us laugh even louder.
"Okay, alright, sorry. You're very handsome, we're just having a little fun. I promise." I say patting his hand, holding back more laughter as I dab away moisture from my eyes.
I finish typing my current chapter after calming down, observing the text, and double saving the document before turning my laptop off. I look around for a second, seeing the players and staff chat and laugh together. The buzzing of my phone redirecting my attention back to our table.
"y/n- your phone." Lina says, grabbing it to hand it to me.
I grab it after thanking her, reading the caller ID.
"Oh, it's my dad." I mutter. "I'll be back in a minute." I say, standing up to walk out of the cafeteria. I look around for a moment, then slide my finger to the right to pick up the call.
"Dad?"
"y/n, how's work going?" He says, the sound of a paper shredder in the background almost sabotaging my understanding of his sentence.
"Good, we're having lunch. How about you?" I reply, leaning against the wall.
"Same old. I called to tell you- I'm not having dinner at home tonight. Ask Carmen to make something you want to eat."
I hold back a sigh, closing my eyes in annoyance. He'd been working a lot since I was little, day and night. It had paid off very well. We had a big house and a beautiful backyard. He owned a law firm, in a nice area of the city and had a lot of clients.
His firm was also the legal representative of the club, being very close with President Pérez and manager Ancelotti themselves and other higher ups.
Of course, I was still thankful, I never had to worry about necessities like food and clothes, they were always provided for me on a silver spoon.
"Alright dad. See you tonight, love you."
I hang up, shoving my phone into my back pocket, and walk back into the cafeteria.
"I'm going back to the office." I tell Lina and Luis, them looking up at me in concern.
"Why? Did something happen?" Luis asks, fixing his dark, curly hair.
"No, I just want to make sure everything is perfect for tomorrow." I force a smile, trying to cover up the fact that my mood was definitely ruined after that phone call.
I grab my laptop, holding it in between my arm and chest as I start making my way out of the cafeteria.
Not before I'm stopped by someone calling out to me.
"y/n!" I hear, looking up and seeing Vini call me over, Rodrygo and sadly, Jude standing next to him.
How did this communication even work?
I raise a brow, walking over to them.
"What's with that face? Trouble with your boyfriend?" Vini says in Spanish, greeting me with a hug.
"It's nothing like that! It was just my dad." I deny, laughing at him. My smile totally disappearing from my face when I make accidental eye contact with an irritated looking Jude next to Vini.
"Right, how's your dad? He hasn't been around lately." Rodrygo asks, greeting me as well.
"Busy- you know how he is..." I reply, swatting my hand. "I'll try to convince him to visit." I smile.
"Will you be coming with us to tomorrow's match?" Vini asks.
"Oh yeah, I'll be joining you on all the matches this season. You guys got lucky this time." I joke, giving him a little wink.
The two Brazilian men laugh, Vini patting my shoulder as I excuse myself to go up.
Tumblr media
I twist the key in the door lock, opening the front door to my house. The smell of spices and sauces filling up my nostrils. I scramble to take my shoes off, throwing my bag onto the floor and making a beeline to the kitchen area.
"Aunty Carmen!" I exclaim, hugging her tightly.
"Oh my girl!" She coos, squeezing me even tighter.
"I missed you so much." I say, planting a kiss on her soft cheek, letting go of her.
"Me too. Come on, get cleaned up and we'll have dinner." She says warmly, going back to stirring the food.
Aunty Carmen was the lady who had been cooking for me and my dad since I was a child. Her food was finger-licking good, and I don't think I could ever survive without it.
She'd partially raised me, alongside my biological aunt, whom I lived in the UK with for a couple of years.
I had begged my dad to not send me to a boarding school, so he'd decided to send me off to live with my aunt, and made me attend an international school instead. A place, consisting of cultures and languages I always craved to be surrounded with becoming my second home.
"When is your dad coming?"
"Oh no, my dad isn't coming for dinner." I explain, pulling out two spoons and two forks out of the cabinet and walking over to the dinner table.
"He wasn't home last time either, why?"
"Too busy. You know how he is." I mumble, filling her glass with water.
"I'm sorry, my girl."
"It's fine- I'm used to it by now. You're here tonight at least." I beam, starting to dig into the food.
"Aunty, you never disappoint!" I exclaim, shoving another spoonful of food into my mouth.
"Slow down! It's not going to run away from you." She fusses, taking a bite of the food herself.
A comfortable silence falls in between us, the sound of our utensils clattering against the plates and bowls accompanied by the occasional comment about the taste of the food.
I join her in cleaning up the table, placing the rinsed dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and putting  the leftovers into the fridge.
"If you look closely, you can see the food I made for the rest of the week. Make sure you close the lids well, so it can stay fresh." She says, drying her wet hands on a kitchen towel.
"Thank you." I say, giving her another hug.
"Oh, you're leaving already?" I ask, watching her grab her handbag. It was a pretty brown bag, a birthday present from me a couple years ago.
"I do sweetie. Take care of yourself." She says, pulling me into a hug.
"-and lock your doors, don't open them for anyone."
"You know I'm not a child anymore. I'm twenty already! Besides, we have security cameras everywhere." I complain, folding my arms up to my chest.
"You've grown up too fast." She says, pinching the fat of my cheek, making me whine at the pain.
I sigh, a little sad as she opens the front door and walks out. I wave one more time, closing the door behind her and locking it as she had instructed.
My dad had keys to get in when I went to bed anyway.
I decide to get ready for bed, turning on the now full dishwasher, and going up to my room. Hoping everything will go smoothly as planned tomorrow.

cleaning off one of the thunderhead's cameras with a small microfiber cloth. sweeping it back and forth over the lens, an unnecessary caring, until it's perfectly clear again.
there is silence as you step down from a step-ladder after ensuring the rest of the base of it was dust-free. then, with a heaving softness you don't think you've heard it use before, it speaks. "thank you..."
no one has ever done that before. you make it feel less like the machine of society and more like a machine of person.

How to clean a laptop screen without scratching it
Laptop screens will attract dirt, dust, and grime — that’s just a fact of life. Whether you’re using one of the best 2-in-1 laptops and want to clean off your fingerprints from the touchscreen or you use one of the best laptops and barely touch the display but have somehow gotten food or dirt on it, the cleaning process isn’t necessarily intuitive.
You’ll likely have lots of questions about it. Do you need a special cleaning fluid? How hard should you rub? What do you rub the screen with? Even using water to clean a laptop screen isn’t necessarily completely safe, due to minerals. So join us as we list our favorite tools for each type of yuck removal and teach you how to clean a laptop screen without inflicting damage.People who wear glasses or own a camera know about this little tool all too well. After all, it’s the best way to clean a camera lens or eyeglasses.
Designed to remove dust and debris without producing lint or scratching delicate surfaces, microfiber cloths are the best place to start when cleaning a laptop screen.
Warning: Absolutely do not use a paper towel or tissue. They might seem soft when blowing your nose, but they are extremely rough on scratch-prone displays.
Step 1: Shut down your laptop. Not only is it safer, but having a blank screen can help you see dust.
Step 2: Pressing gently on the display, use a microfiber cloth to wipe in one direction. Don’t scrub or wipe in circles, as this could damage the display or just move the dust particles around.
Step 3: Continue wiping across the display until it’s dust-free.
What about using a duster? This is also a safe way to remove dust if the coating is extremely light. Avoid feather-style products, which simply push dust into a cloud. Instead, find one that collects dust, like the dusters made by Swiffer. If using a Swiffer duster, remember to turn off your laptop before using it.
There’s no set method for removing dust, though you may want to move in an X pattern from top to bottom.
Sometimes you’ll end up with more than dust on your display. Instead of rubbing at it with your microfiber cloth to no avail — and potentially dirtying the cloth in the process — you can use a damp sponge instead.
What you need: A brand new household sponge. Distilled, deionized, or filtered water. Warning: Absolutely avoid standard tap water. Unseen minerals can scratch your display.
Step 1: Shut down your laptop and unplug it from its power source. If possible, remove the battery.
Note: If you’re worried about potential drips falling onto your keyboard, place something light over the keys that won’t absorb liquid.
Step 2: Wet the sponge with water and wring it out to eliminate drips.
Step 3: Use the sponge to gently wipe the screen’s affected area. Watch for drips and clean them up immediately.
Step 4: Once the area is clean, wait for the display to completely dry before closing the lid or using your machine.
If the cloth and sponge methods failed to clean your laptop’s screen, it’s time for a safe screen-cleaning spray. However, you can’t use just any substance. Specific chemicals scratch the surface even if you’re using a microfiber cloth.
Avoid these substances at all cost:
Acetone Ammonia Ethyl acid Ethyl alcohol Methyl alcohol Methyl chloride Surface cleaners Toluene Window cleaners Any other corrosive substance You can still purchase third-party cleaners, but they absolutely must not include the chemicals listed above. Alternatively, you can create a cleaner using the following:
50% distilled water and 50% white vinegar 50% distilled water and 50% isopropyl alcohol 100% distilled water and a drop of dish detergent Notice: As you can see, you can use alcohol to clean a laptop screen, but it must be isopropyl alcohol, not methyl or ethyl.
Step 1: Turn your laptop off and unplug it from its charger. If you’re able, also remove the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
Note: If you’re worried about potential drips falling onto your keyboard, place something light over the keys. A material that won’t absorb liquid is your best bet.
Step 2: Pour or spray your chosen cleaning fluid onto a microfiber cloth. Be sure the fabric isn’t wet, just damp. Never spray cleaning fluid directly onto your screen. Even though they evaporate quickly, applying liquid to your screen is a sure way to damage it.
Step 3: Gently rub the cloth over the affected area. Rub in small circles to avoid streaks. Don’t press too hard; otherwise, you could displace the liquid crystal molecules and permanently distort the screen.
Step 4: Repeat this process until the screen is completely free of moisture. Also check the keyboard and any attached hardware, like a mouse or anything connected to the USB ports, to make sure there is no liquid pooling on them.
Step 5: As an additional precaution, leave the screen to air dry for half an hour. Once it’s dry, you can close it and turn it on.
We put our notebooks through a lot on a day-to-day basis. If you eat and drink while you’re working, you’re more than likely leaving little bits of your food behind on the screen, keyboard, and in any other crevices. We owe it to our computers to keep them clean. Following all the steps outlined in this guide should help make your laptop look a little less homely.
When you’ve done that, maybe it’s time to clean your laptop keyboard. And if you’re leaving the computer switched off for a while, take the chance to clean your laptop fans.

Boost Battery Life and Camera Speed with These Secret Android/iOS Settings
Smartphones are power-packed today—but heavy apps, background tasks, and poorly optimized settings can drain your battery and slow down your camera performance. Whether you're an Android user or on iOS, tweaking a few hidden settings can dramatically improve your phone's battery life and speed up your camera.
Here’s a guide to the top secret settings and hacks that actually work in 2025.
🔋 Secret Settings to Boost Battery Life
✅ 1. Disable Background App Activity
Where to find it:
Android: Settings → Battery → Background Usage Limits / App Battery Usage
iOS: Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Turn off for non-essential apps
Why it helps: Apps like Facebook, Instagram, or Maps keep running in the background, draining battery. Disabling them adds hours to your battery.
Smart hacks to get the most out of your device.
✅ 2. Switch to Dark Mode System-Wide
Where to find it:
Android & iOS: Settings → Display → Dark Mode
Why it helps: OLED and AMOLED screens consume less power in dark mode, especially for apps you use frequently like YouTube, Instagram, and Chrome.
Quick fixes for your everyday tech issues.
✅ 3. Limit Location Services
Where to find it:
Android: Settings → Location → App Permissions
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
Pro Tip: Set non-essential apps to “While using the app” or “Never” instead of always allowing location.
See how your phone lens performs in the real world.
✅ 4. Turn Off Always-On Display
Where to find it:
Android: Settings → Lock Screen → Always-On Display
iOS (for supported models): Settings → Display & Brightness → Always On → Toggle Off
Why it helps: Always-On Display looks cool but consumes steady power all day. Turning it off improves standby battery life.
Stay ahead with the latest OS features and updates.
✅ 5. Optimize Battery Charging
Where to find it:
iOS: Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging → Optimized Battery Charging
Android (varies): Settings → Battery → Adaptive Charging or Smart Charging
Why it helps: Extends battery lifespan by learning your usage patterns and avoiding overcharging.
📷 Secret Settings to Speed Up Your Camera
✅ 6. Clear Camera Cache (Android only)
Where to find it:
Settings → Apps → Camera → Storage → Clear Cache
Why it helps: Over time, camera cache builds up and can slow launch times or cause lag. Clearing it refreshes performance instantly.
✅ 7. Use HEIF & HEVC Format for Photos & Videos
Where to find it:
iOS: Settings → Camera → Formats → High Efficiency
Android: Camera Settings → Save Format → HEIF/HEVC
Why it helps: These formats reduce file size, save storage, and make your camera faster when saving high-res images or 4K videos.
✅ 8. Disable Scene Optimizers or AI Modes (If Laggy)
Where to find it:
Camera Settings → Scene Optimizer or AI Enhancements → Turn Off
Why it helps: AI image processing is great, but on mid-range phones, it can slow down shutter speed. Disabling it results in faster capture.
✅ 9. Enable Camera Quick Launch
Where to find it:
Android: Settings → Advanced Features → Side Key → Double Press for Camera
iOS: Lock Screen → Swipe left to open camera instantly
Why it helps: Missed a quick moment? Not anymore. Launching your camera in under a second helps you capture those spontaneous shots.
✅ 10. Keep Lens Clean & Storage Free
Not a software trick, but effective.
Clean your lens regularly with a microfiber cloth.
Keep at least 15–20% of your storage free for smooth image processing and quick saving.
Bonus Tip: Use Battery Saver or Focus Modes
Both Android and iOS offer:
Focus Mode / Do Not Disturb
Battery Saver or Low Power Mode
Use them when you're low on juice or during work hours to pause non-essential apps and extend battery life.
🧠 Final Thoughts
These lesser-known settings can maximize your phone’s performance without third-party apps or rooting/jailbreaking. Whether you're looking to extend your battery through the day or want a lag-free camera experience, these small tweaks make a huge difference.

How to Take Great Jewelry Photos (Even If You're Just Starting Out)
Tumblr media
Have you ever tried to take a photo of a ring, necklace, or bracelet, and no matter what you did, it just didn’t look right?
I’ve been there.
A few years ago, I helped a friend launch a small handmade jewelry shop on Etsy. We were excited. Her work was beautiful — delicate wire-wrapped gemstones, unique earrings, and boho-chic necklaces. But when we started taking product photos with our phones… they looked dull, dark, and lifeless. Some were blurry, some had weird shadows, and none truly showed how pretty the jewelry was in real life.
That's when I realized how important it is to know how to take great jewelry photos  not just for sales, but for creating a brand that people trust. And today, I want to walk you through everything I’ve learned so you can skip the stress and start shooting photos that actually sell.
Why Great Jewelry Photos Matter
Let’s start with this: a great photo can make or break a sale. If someone’s scrolling through Etsy, Amazon, or Instagram, they’re not holding your product — your photo is your product. It needs to sparkle, shine, and stop the scroll.
High-quality photos make your brand look professional and trustworthy. They help your jewelry stand out — especially in competitive spaces like Amazon, eBay, and Shopify.
So now, let’s talk about how to get those great shots — even if you’re working with a smartphone and natural light.
Step-by-Step: How to Take Great Jewelry Photos
Step 1: Clean the Jewelry First
Before you even touch your camera, make sure the jewelry is spotless. Dust, fingerprints, and smudges can ruin a close-up shot.
📌 Quick Tip: Use a microfiber cloth and a soft brush to clean every piece before you shoot. This one step makes your photos look 10x better instantly.
Step 2: Use Soft, Even Lighting
You’ve probably seen this advice before — and it’s popular for a reason. Lighting can make or break a jewelry photo.
Short answer for snippet: Soft, even lighting helps highlight details without harsh shadows.
For consistent, soft light, many experts recommend best lighting for jewelry photography, such as using a lightbox or shooting near a window on a cloudy day. Harsh sunlight can create strong shadows and reflections, so diffuse it with a sheer curtain or bounce light using white foam boards.
Step 3: Stabilize Your Camera
No matter what device you’re using — phone or DSLR — camera shake is the enemy.
📌 Quick Fix: Use a tripod or place your phone on a stable surface to avoid blurry shots.
Even better, use a remote shutter or timer so you’re not touching the device when the photo is taken. That keeps your images crisp and clear.
Step 4: Choose the Right Background
Your background should complement, not compete with your jewelry.
Snippet answer: Use a simple, neutral background to keep the focus on your jewelry.
White backgrounds work well for product listings (and marketplaces like Amazon often require them). For Instagram or lifestyle shots, textured backgrounds like linen, marble, or wood can add personality.
Avoid distracting patterns or bright colors — they pull attention away from the jewelry.
Step 5: Use a Macro Lens (or Macro Mode)
Jewelry is tiny and detailed — that means you need to get close. If you're using a smartphone, look for “macro mode” or invest in a clip-on macro lens.
Quick answer: A macro lens captures the fine details that make your jewelry shine.
This is especially important for rings, earrings, and anything with intricate textures, gemstones, or engravings.
How to Take Great Jewelry Photos With a Smartphone
You don’t need a $2,000 camera setup. In fact, jewelry photography with smartphone is absolutely doable with the right techniques.
Use natural light, stabilize your phone, and edit your images afterward (more on that in a sec). Clean lenses and tap to focus on the main part of the jewelry. On iPhones and many Androids, you can also adjust exposure by sliding your finger up or down after tapping to focus.
📌 Pro Tip: Use gridlines to follow the rule of thirds and keep compositions clean.
Use a Light Box for Jewelry Photography
If you’re serious about product photography, investing in a light box jewelry photography setup is a game-changer.
Snippet answer: A lightbox creates consistent, shadow-free lighting that highlights jewelry details.
Lightboxes are affordable, portable, and easy to use. They come with built-in LED lighting and often include various backdrops. They’re especially great for eCommerce brands and dropshipping businesses needing batch consistency.
Practical Tips from Personal Experience
Over time, I learned a few tricks that made a big difference:
Shoot in batches. Set up once, shoot everything. Saves time and keeps your lighting consistent.
Use tweezers or sticky tack. Position rings upright or prop earrings so they’re not lying flat.
Zoom with your feet, not your fingers. Digital zoom on smartphones reduces quality — get closer instead.
Edit lightly. Brighten the image, adjust contrast, and remove dust. Don’t go overboard — customers want accuracy.
What You Can Learn from This Video
▶️ How To Photograph Jewelry At Home | Easy DIY Setup
This YouTube video shows a great step-by-step tutorial using simple items like paper, a desk lamp, and a smartphone. It's super helpful if you’re on a budget.
Key takeaways:
DIY doesn’t mean low-quality.
You can create soft lighting at home using everyday items.
Consistency matters more than fancy gear.
Quick snippet: The video proves you can take professional jewelry photos at home using basic tools.
Watch it if you’re visual like me — it helped me understand angles and light placement better than text alone.
Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need to Be a Pro Photographer
Taking great jewelry photos doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Start simple. Use what you have. Focus on lighting, stability, and clarity. And remember: practice makes progress.
Whether you’re a small business owner selling on Etsy, a Shopify seller launching your first collection, or a digital marketing agency working on a campaign, great jewelry photos can elevate your brand instantly.
If I can learn how to take great jewelry photos, so can you — and once you do, your products will finally look as beautiful online as they do in real life.
Let me know if you want a checklist version of this guide — I’ve created one for my own shoots, and I’m happy to share it!

Useful Photography Equipment for Real Estate Photographer
Tumblr media
If you’re a real estate photographer—or thinking about becoming one—you already know that it takes more than just a good camera to get the job done. Real estate photography is all about making homes look their best, and the right accessories can make a huge difference in how your photos turn out.
In this blog, we’ll go over the essential tools and gear you should have in your kit to take your real estate photos from average to professional.
1. A Wide-Angle Lens
A wide-angle lens is a real estate photographer’s best friend. It helps you capture more of the room in a single shot, making small spaces look bigger and more open. Look for something in the 16–35mm range. It gives you flexibility without distorting the space too much. Whether you shoot with Canon, Sony, or Nikon, all major brands offer great wide-angle options.
2. A Sturdy Tripod
Shooting handheld can lead to blurry images, especially in low light. A good tripod keeps your camera steady and helps you line up those perfectly straight vertical lines in walls and windows. Choose one with a ball head for easier adjustments and make sure it's lightweight enough to carry around all day.
3. External Flash and Light Modifiers
Natural light is great—until it’s not. Some rooms are too dark or lit unevenly. That’s where an external flash comes in handy. You can bounce light off the ceiling or use a softbox to light up a space without creating harsh shadows. Lighting gear might seem intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a game-changer.
4. Remote Shutter Release
Even when using a tripod, pressing the shutter button can slightly shake the camera. A remote shutter release helps you avoid that. You can use a wired one, a wireless remote, or even a smartphone app, depending on your camera.
5. Polarizing Filter
Ever taken a photo of a window and noticed weird reflections or glare? A circular polarizer helps reduce that. It also makes skies look bluer in exterior shots and improves contrast overall. It’s a small accessory that makes a big difference in the final look of your photos.
6. Bubble Level or Grid Overlay
Crooked photos are a big no in real estate. A bubble level (you can attach one to your camera or tripod) or your camera’s grid overlay helps keep your shots straight and balanced. This saves a lot of editing time later on.
7. Extra Batteries and Memory Cards
Real estate shoots can take hours, especially if you're covering a large property. The last thing you want is to run out of battery or space. Always carry a couple of fully charged batteries and at least one spare memory card—preferably high-speed ones that handle large RAW files well.
8. A Drone (Optional but Powerful)
Aerial shots give potential buyers a view of the entire property and surrounding area. If you're working with luxury homes, large plots of land, or vacation rentals, a drone can help you stand out. Just make sure you're licensed and following local drone laws.
9. Grey Card or Color Checker
Accurate color is important, especially for walls, floors, and fixtures. A grey card helps you set the correct white balance, either in-camera or during editing. It might sound technical, but it makes a huge difference in making your photos look true-to-life.
10. Cleaning Kit
Dirty lenses = blurry or hazy photos. A basic cleaning kit with a microfiber cloth, air blower, and lens cleaning solution should always be in your camera bag. It only takes a few seconds, and it keeps your gear in top shape.
11. Tethering Setup (Optional)
Tethering means connecting your camera to a laptop or tablet so you can see your shots on a bigger screen in real time. It’s especially helpful when you want to check details or lighting without waiting until after the shoot. Apps like Lightroom or Capture One make this really easy.
12. Portable SSD or Backup Drive
Always back up your photos before you leave a job. Portable SSDs are fast, durable, and easy to carry. Even if you shoot on two memory cards at once, an extra backup gives you peace of mind.
13. Editing Software
Even great photos need a little polishing. Programs like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop let you fine-tune lighting, fix distortions, and make sure every image looks sharp and professional. If editing isn’t your favorite task, consider using presets or hiring an editor—but never skip this step.
Conclusion
Real estate photography isn’t just about snapping pictures—it’s about telling the story of a space and helping buyers see the potential. With the right accessories in your kit, you’ll work faster, produce better images, and stand out from the crowd.

Unlocking the Power of Smartphone Photography: Practical Tips to Boost Your Mobile Shots
In today’s digital age, smartphone photography has become popular to capture life’s moments. Nearly everyone carries a phone with a capable camera, making it easier than ever to document experiences and share them instantly. Yet, while smartphone cameras have improved dramatically, taking photos that genuinely impress still requires knowledge and practice. By learning essential techniques and making the most of your device’s features, you can transform simple snapshots into captivating images that tell a story.
Discover Your Smartphone Camera’s Full Potential
The first step toward better mobile photography is to familiarize yourself with your phone’s camera capabilities. Most smartphones come with multiple lenses, such as wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto, each suited for different shots. Spend time exploring these lenses to understand how they affect perspective and framing.
Additionally, modern smartphones offer advanced modes like portrait, night, panorama, and even manual controls. These modes allow you to tailor your camera settings for different environments and effects. For example, night mode helps capture low-light scenes more clearly, while portrait mode creates a beautiful background blur. Experimenting with these tools enables you to push beyond automatic settings and gain more creative control over your photos.
Master Composition to Create Strong Visual Impact
Great photography is often defined by strong composition. Even with a powerful camera, a poorly composed shot can feel uninspired. Use the grid feature on your camera app to apply the rule of thirds—a classic technique that places your subject off-center to create a more balanced and dynamic image.
Beyond the rule of thirds, seek natural lines, shapes, and patterns to guide the viewer’s eye. Leading lines, for example, can draw attention toward the subject or add depth. Symmetry and framing elements like doorways or branches can add interest and structure. Taking a moment to frame your shot thoughtfully transforms ordinary scenes into memorable photos.
Harness the Best Light for Clear, Vibrant Photos
Lighting dramatically affects the quality and mood of your photos. Smartphones perform best in natural light, which offers rich colors and softer shadows. Shooting outdoors during the golden hours—shortly after sunrise or before sunset—produces warm, flattering light that enhances any subject.
If you’re shooting indoors, position your subject near a window or other natural light source. Avoid relying on your phone’s built-in flash; it can create harsh, unnatural lighting and unflattering shadows. Use your phone’s night mode or manually increase exposure in low-light conditions, but be cautious not to over-brighten the scene and introduce noise or grain.
Keep Your Lens Clean and Stabilize Your Shot
Small details can make a big difference in photo quality. Before shooting, always check that your phone’s lens is clean. Fingerprints, dust, or smudges can blur or haze your images, reducing sharpness and detail. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the lens gently to ensure a clear view. Additionally, holding your phone steady is crucial to avoid motion blur.
Use both hands, keep your elbows close to your body, or lean against a solid surface for extra support. For more stability, consider using a compact tripod designed for smartphones, especially in low-light or long-exposure situations. These simple actions can significantly improve the sharpness and professionalism of your shots.
Enhance Your Photos with Thoughtful Editing
After capturing your images, editing offers the chance to refine and elevate them. Various user-friendly editing apps let you adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. You can also crop or straighten your photos to improve composition afterward.
However, it’s essential to edit with care. Avoid overprocessing your images, which can make them appear artificial or overly filtered. Instead, focus on subtle adjustments that enhance the photo's natural beauty. A consistent editing style also helps establish a recognizable look for your photos, especially if you share them on social media.
Experiment with Unique Angles and Perspectives
One of the easiest ways to add interest to your photos is to change your viewpoint. Rather than always shooting at eye level, try crouching low to capture a worm' s-eye view or shooting from above for a bird' s-eye perspective. Different angles reveal new details and transform familiar subjects.
Getting closer to your subject for macro-style shots reveals intricate textures and patterns that are often overlooked. Moving around and exploring varied perspectives encourages creativity and prevents images from becoming repetitive or dull.
Utilize Portrait Mode to Emphasize Your Subject
Portrait mode has become a staple feature on most smartphones. It is designed to mimic the shallow depth of field effect of professional cameras. This mode blurs the background to make your subject stand out sharply, adding a professional quality to portraits and close-ups.
To achieve the best results, keep your subject a few feet away from the background and ensure enough light. Avoid complex or busy backgrounds that can confuse the camera’s depth detection. When used effectively, portrait mode adds an appealing artistic touch without requiring extra equipment.
Capture Action with Burst Mode
Photographing moving subjects like children, pets, or sports events can be challenging due to motion blur or timing. Burst mode solves this by capturing multiple shots rapidly, significantly increasing the chance of getting a sharp and well-timed photo.
After the burst, review the sequence and select the best frames. Most camera apps allow you to save individual photos from the burst instead of keeping the entire set. This feature is handy for freezing dynamic moments that would be difficult to capture with a single click.
Pay Attention to Background and Foreground Elements
The environment surrounding your subject shapes the overall impression of your photo. Distracting or cluttered backgrounds can distract focus from the main topic and weaken the impact. Move around or adjust your framing to find simpler backgrounds that complement your subject.
In contrast, including interesting foreground elements can add layers and depth. For example, shooting through leaves, flowers, or fences can frame your subject creatively and add dimension. Combining compelling foreground and background elements creates more prosperous, more engaging photos.
Practice Regularly and Review Your Work
Improving your smartphone photography requires consistent practice and self-evaluation. Challenge yourself with daily or weekly photo themes to explore new subjects and techniques. Over time, your eye for composition, lighting, and timing will sharpen naturally.
Review your photos critically to identify what works well and could be improved. Comparing your work to professional images or seeking feedback from others can provide valuable insights. Staying curious and open to learning ensures steady growth and elevates your photography skills.
Smartphone photography offers a remarkable way to capture and share moments conveniently and creatively. By understanding your device’s features, mastering composition, and leveraging natural light, you lay a strong foundation for better images. Don’t forget to keep your lens clean and steady, enhance photos through careful editing, and experiment with angles and modes like portrait and burst. Paying close attention to your surroundings and committing to regular practice will help you produce mobile photos that are vibrant, professional, and memorable. With these tips, your smartphone can become a powerful tool for visual storytelling.

Tumblr media
The Dudhsagar Trek unfolds an unforgettable journey through Goa’s lush forests, leading to the cascading milky-white waters of Dudhsagar Falls. From planning your Dudhsagar trip to capturing that perfect Dudhsagar Falls photo, this guide covers everything you need to experience the magic of one of India’s tallest waterfalls. Lace up your boots, charge your camera, and get ready for an adventure that lives up to every dreamy expectation.
Planning Your Dudhsagar Trip: Essentials for an Unforgettable Adventure
Embarking on a Dudhsagar trip requires some preparation. First, decide whether you’ll go independently or join a guided Dudhsagar Falls tour. Independent trekkers must obtain forest permits in Kulem or Mollem, pack plenty of water, snacks, and a basic first-aid kit, and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Guided tours take care of permits and local transport, and often include a jeep ride through the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. Whichever route you choose, make sure your itinerary allows enough time to savour the falls and surrounding greenery—don’t rush your Dudhsagar trip if you want those picture-perfect moments by the cascade.
Dudhsagar Waterfall timing: Best Season and Daily Schedule
Knowing the Dudhsagar waterfall timing is crucial for an optimal experience. The falls are at their most thunderous during the monsoon months (June to September), when up to 100,000 gallons of water plunge every second. However, heavy rains can make the trek slippery. The best season for Dudhsagar waterfall timing is October to December, when the flow remains strong but the trails are safer. Daily schedules for forest entry typically start around 9:00 AM, with the last permit issued by early afternoon. Aim to arrive at the falls by mid-morning to catch the water in full force and avoid the late-afternoon crowds.
Dudhsagar Falls Tour: Choosing the Right Package
A well-organized Dudhsagar Falls tour can simplify logistics and enhance safety. Popular options include:
Jeep Safari + Guided Hike: Combines an off-road ride to Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary with a moderate trek.
Night Trek Adventure: For thrill-seekers, this after-dark Dudhsagar Falls tour offers headlamp-lit trails and a sunrise reveal of the falls.
Train Track Trek: Follow the historic railway track that passes right beside the falls—an iconic route featured in many films.
Each Dudhsagar Falls tour package varies in duration, difficulty, and inclusions like meals or porter services. Compare options to match your fitness level and adventure style.
Capturing the Magic: Dudhsagar Waterfall photos & Dudhsagar Falls photo Tips
No Dudhsagar waterfall photos collection is complete without a few standout Dudhsagar Falls photo tips:
Golden Hours: Shoot in the early morning or late afternoon, when the sun casts warm, soft light on the spray.
Slow Shutter: Use a low shutter speed (1/4–1 second) on your camera or phone’s Pro mode to create that silky-water effect.
Foreground Interest: Frame the falls with nearby rocks, ferns, or tree branches to add depth to Dudhsagar waterfall photos.
Safety First: Keep a microfiber cloth handy to wipe lens misting from water droplets when you’re up close for your Dudhsagar Falls photo.
Experiment with angles—shoot from the train bridge for a dramatic perspective or wade into a shallow pool for a head-on shot of the cascading water.
Your Dreamy Dudhsagar Trip Awaits
The Dudhsagar trip is more than just a hike—it’s an immersive encounter with nature’s raw beauty. By planning your Dudhsagar Falls tour, choosing the ideal Dudhsagar waterfall timing, and arming yourself with techniques for stunning Dudhsagar waterfall photos and Dudhsagar Falls photo moments, you’ll craft memories that stay luminous long after the trek ends. So, round up your friends, pack your sense of wonder, and discover why Dudhsagar Falls truly feels like a dreamy destination!

Why is a microfiber cloth the go-to choice for cleaning electronics? Here’s the deal, no sugar-coating:
1. It’s Ridiculously Gentle (But Effective):
Microfiber is ultra-soft and non-abrasive, so it won’t scratch delicate surfaces like your phone screen, camera lens, or laptop monitor. That’s a huge deal when you’re dropping big bucks on tech.
2. No Lint, No Streaks, No BS:
Unlike paper towels or tissues (which are sneaky abrasive and leave lint behind), microfiber traps dust and grime without streaks or residue. Just wipe and you’re golden.
3. It’s Like a Dirt Magnet:
Microfiber is made of super-fine synthetic fibers (we’re talking thinner than human hair). These fibers create more surface area and use static electricity to literally pull in and trap dust, oils, fingerprints, and bacteria.
4. You Can Use It Dry or Damp:
It’s flexible. Want to go dry for a quick wipe? Cool. Want to pair it with a little distilled water or screen cleaner for deeper cleaning? Also cool. No harsh chemicals needed.
5. It’s Reusable and Washable:
Unlike disposable wipes, you can wash microfiber cloths and use them again. Eco-friendly and cost-effective. Bonus points.
Avoid using:
• Paper towels
• Tissues
• Napkins
• Your shirt sleeve (we all do it, but don’t)
These can all scratch your screen or smear oil around instead of cleaning it.
Pro Tip:
Keep one microfiber cloth in your laptop bag, one for your phone, and one just in case you spill something on your keyboard. They’re cheap and insanely useful.
Want me to break down the best way to clean your electronics with one?
