Cainan Sprocket

“You’re wondering if I’m worth all the trouble. Well everything I’ve done that has made me such a ‘prodigy’ is because of the shit I get into. That’s a fact, whether you like it or not.” 

Stats: human alchemist (artificer) lvl 8 AC: 14 (17 with shield infusion), HP: 89, Init: +2 Str: 11 (+0), Dex: 14 (+2), Con: 18 (+4), Int: 18 (+4), Wis: 12 (+1), Cha: 8 (-1)

Story: Cainan was raised in Breland, in the Cragwar Asylum for Orphaned Youth. His parents and origin are a mystery, but children born during the last war often became orphans. He was born only 6 months before the Mourning, and assumes his parents died in the tragedy. He was left on the steps of the Cragwar Asylum with a journal that said “Merry” in lovely cursive, and “for Cainan” in scratched writing, clearly not from the author. Practically as soon as he could read, he noticed the journal had codes hidden in its entries and scientific notes. He has been deciphering it since. At the Cragwar Asylum, he got into trouble with his experiments. These include, but are not limited to killing a litter of puppies in an effort to feed them dehydrated food, and causing a cave in when trying to speed up a mining job the orphaned youth were forced to do. 

Because of all this, Cainan’s supplies were confiscated and he took matters into his own hands. He became a thief to gather materials again. One such merchant he stole from was a man in his 50s, Diogenes, who traveled through Cragwar regularly. Cainan was caught, but instead of turning him in, Diogenes saw his talents and offered to take him in as his ward. For the last few years, Cainan has been living in Black Pit, experimenting and scavenging, performing fetch quests for his master, and decoding the mysterious Cannith journal, written over a hundred years ago. 

When the party converges on Black Pit, they rope the boy into their job. Cainan rejects the Patron’s offer for power. While the idea of working with a bunch of flagrant killers is frightening at first, their acceptance and even admiration of his chaotic and destructive brilliance keeps him on the hook. Plus, it is kinda fun...

Exquisitely Evil Eberron Escapades

It’s 1007yk and the fallout from the Last War has settled, though tensions linger. Life goes on, and that includes our heroes adventurers cast. They are individually approached by a mysterious entity with an enticing proposition and a plan to “bring Eberron to her truest potential.” 

The entity, affectionately called the “Patron”, assigns often vague tasks to the group with an enigmatic greater goal. Will the selfish intentions of the individuals get in the way of progress, or will they come together for success?

Dagger Loppen (/dagg-air loe-pen/) Elf psionic rogue. Pretty boy of the group. Flippant, histrionic, and more skilled than he may appear. He is from Sharn, the City of Towers. He is secretive about his past and personal life, but is known to be a marked Phiarlan member (Mark of Shadows). “Dagger Loppen” is likely an alias.

Entyre Equine (/en-tie-er eck-wine/) Halfling Gunslinger. Level headed and speaks with actions, not words. Known to the Boromar Clan as “The Last Resort”. He’s been living in the Lower Wards of Sharn, and his past is a mystery, even to him. After walking out of the fog of the Mourning, he woke up in a Jorasco tent with a Mark of Healing. 

Cainan Sprocket (/cane-an sprah-ket/) Human teen alchemist. Found at the Cragwar Asylum for Orphaned Youth, causing many problems. Taken in by Diogenes, a kindly artificer, who taught him all about history, science, and legend. Has been living in Black Pit, studying a mysterious coded journal he was left with at birth.

Avire Delina d’Vol (/ah-veer-ay de-leen-ah d-vole/) Elf Vampire. A bit of a pyromaniac. Was on working as the lab assistant of Minara d’Vol on Thal Taluna when a raid led to the genocide of her House. She disappeared suddenly and reappeared 3500 years later, for unknown reasons. She is trying to reorient herself in an entirely different world as the last “living” member of the Vols.

24601 (/do I need to sound it out for you?/) Lion (leonin) barbarian. Escaped imprisonment from a ranch in Breland. A lion experimented on by House Vadalis who gained power and sentience. 24601 is his test number. He has a branded, and working Mark of Handling, and a sword that carries the vengeful spirits of his mate and son.
