So today in the discord I ended up talking about a crack maid cafe au

Basic summary is just: Oto runs a maid cafe for whatever reason, the crew plays the Heap folks all work there.

Maxim and VR-LA are roommates, but VR-LA is keeping his job a secret! And this is just Maxim finding the maid outfit and having the wrong assumption immediately.

Maxim stepped into VR-LA's room, carrying the basket of clean laundry under one arm. He had finished picking his clothes out of the recently dried clothes, so he figured he could just put the basket on VR-LA's bed for until he got home. As he put it on the blue quilt, he noticed the edge of something sticking out from the closet door. It had probably gotten caught before VR-LA left.

It'd probably get messed up like that, so Maxim just went up to the door and slid it open. A dress? Maxim let his curiosity get the better of him for a moment, moving the hangers slightly to get a better look at it. His face heated up near immediately as he realized what it was. A maid dress? VR-LA owned a maid dress? And he used enough to hang it up rather than just storing it in one of the boxes in the closet?

Maxim glanced at the apron, which was tied to the hanger, seeing that there was something in the pocket. He couldn't tell what from the shape, but he also wasn't sure if he wanted to know. He stared for a moment longer, seeing something else was awkwardly hanging off the hanger. A garter.

Maxim shut the closet. If VR-LA was active in such ways, it was none of Maxim's business. Maxim repeated that in his own head as he marched his way out of VR-LA's room and back into the living room. He started looking for something else to busy his hands and mind, but his mind wandered anyway.

VR-LA did go out often, he had plenty of fairly eccentric friends, it wasn't too out of the question that he might be participating in some form of kink with somebody, or even multiple people. Possibly that MR-SN man that VR-LA followed around like a lost puppy. Maxim found that there were no chores left, so he just started folding the dish towels that they normally just piled into a little basket on the counter. And VR-LA did seem fairly out there himself when it came to his interests, half his shelf was science books and the other fantasy. Maids appeared in quite a few fantasy stories, right? And some of the shows VR-LA liked?

Maxim paused, realizing folding towels were giving him no distraction. Maybe he could prep for dinner then. That could occupy his mind. Not the images of VR-LA in that outfit. VR-LA hadn't ever shown it to Maxim, so it wasn't for Maxim to see. Why would he even show it to Maxim though?

some fun facts about canalo bc i miss him:

on a date at a cafe he asked every person that went to the bathroom if they turned the light off in the bathroom when they came out, bc he believes in being eco-friendly and the world being shared (don't waste electricity!)

he says he only does favors for women- doesn't matter if they're interested in him or not, he just wants them to be happy

he says all women are beautiful no matter what their age (he's so real for that)

slapped a man for blaming women for him not being married yet- emphasizes the importance of self-reflection and growth

he has a sharp sense of smell and can track based on the scent of a person's amino acids (something he can just recall at any time)- this is an ability that all people of the sea tribe seem to have and oto uses it to track the ryusoulgers and canalo follows- something they mention once but lives in my head rent free

he reads horoscopes and uses them for romance advice

he tends to get distracted, misinterpret situations, and gets ahead of himself a lot- has trouble focusing and is even tested on this by having to build a house of cards while beautiful women are around

he was accepted to run a dojo after sparring with the head of the dojo

he threatened a man bc the man saw littering as no big deal- canalo really cares about the planet

has sharper hearing due to being underwater- 3x sharper than the other ryusoulgers- again this is mentioned once but i think about it daily

Omg another Kyuhiko shipper! 🩷 I swear they're so rare to find!

Question (if you want to answer): what do you think they'll do during their dates?

I feel like they (especially Otohiko) have more like... what's the word.... cozy dates? if that makes sense? I can see them definitely just hanging out at each other houses, watching shows they both enjoyyyy, or just enjoying each others company in silence. Cozy stuff :3 I can also see a LOT of late night drives on Kyuji's part. He definitely sneaks Oto out of his fathers house on the weekends to take him to buy snacks or to go stargazing. This one is KINDDD of cliche but I also think they like going to cafe's after school to do homework with each other and talk n stuff........ These ones aren't necessarily datesss but I also think about these scenarios a LOT ..... in BULLET POINT FORM !!!! • walking each other hommeee Kyuji lives closer to the school but he still walks oto home anyway • I like to think of band au's quite frequently. Kyuji teaching Otohiko the guitar. no further comment. • Otohiko makes Kyuji lunch sometimes YUMMYYYY • I feel like they video call a lot too :3c • They both aren't very avid gamers, but I feel like Otohiko got his hands on animal crossing at one point "Kyuji please play with me. Please" and then Kyuji chases him around and hits him 37 times with a bug net. • Also the sims. "Look Kyuji I made us in the sims :3" "Why is our house currently burning down." • I know I JUST said they aren't very avid gamers THIS IS THE LAST GAME RELATED ONE I SWEAR. I feel like Otohiko likes SOME horror games but is WAY to scared to play any of them on his own (same) so Kyuji braves the despicable horrors for him but ends up getting jumpscared anyway. ( he was trying to look cool) (he failed) • anytime anyone wrongs Otohiko in any way ever Kyuji usually says something like "we should bring back stoning people to death. We should bring back killing people with hammers."

Wojciech Rusin - Honey for the Ants - electro-acoustic chamber music

Honey for the Ants completes an ‘alchemical trilogy’, after The Funnel and Syphon. These albums are informed by mystical and gnostic texts, celebrating the weird, unhinged and occasionally beautiful. In this forthcoming album the tonalities have shifted from mediaeval and renaissance to modernist dissonances. New singers and instrumentalists contribute to an emotional and textural richness achieved in a collaborative process. Distant musical periods, real and fictitious, are nonchalantly interwoven to create a delirious mongrel that salutes the imagination. Wojciech Rusin is a Polish-born audio visual artist based in London. He draws inspiration from alchemical and gnostic texts, early renaissance choral music and Eastern European mythologies. He released Syphon LP on AD 93 in 2022 and The Funnel LP on Akashic Records in April 2019. He designs and makes 3D-printed reed instruments, reworking ancient designs with contemporary 3D modelling technologies. In 2020 he released Meat for the Guard Dogs on Cafe OTO’s Takuroku digital imprint, and the Rufus Orbis cassette for Boomkat Editions / Documenting Sound series. OKI - Live At Cafe Oto

I know nothing about Ainu music. Until I listened to this album I did not know what a tonkori was. Naturally I had to do a little research to determine if I even had valid observations to make about this music in the first place. The outside influences stood out to me pretty quickly. There's a bit of dub, blues, and afrobeat influence all over. I really enjoy when traditional folk music blends with modern styles so that was extremely up my alley. But most importantly I think everyone ought to just expand their musical scope by listening to some Ainu music and this stuff was really enjoyable.
