part 17.
SNEAK PEEK
A/N: the deadline was supposed to be today but there's just too much going on, so as my birthday treat to you guys, here's a cute lil excerpt from the next part!!
“Let’s go.”
You’ve walked beside Jaehyun multiple times already but this time you’re walking hand in hand with him — and he’s even swaying your conjoined hands! You were screaming inside at how cute he was to do this. He gave off such a cool vibe that you didn’t think he had such an adorable side.
Autumn has started and the weather was perfect to be outside, the leaves were turning to beautiful shades of reds, oranges, and yellows. It was nice to take a stroll under them right now and it feels quite cozy, especially with Jaehyun.
He filled up the silence growing between you, not that it bothered you, with small talk. He asked about your morning and the day before, if you had any plans for the holiday break. You told him that you were going back home to your parents over the holidays and was unsure if your parents had plans to celebrate.
You could feel his thumb gently smooth over your skin as he talked about his plans over the break, mentioning how he’s going to be helping out his dad in his business.
The cafe you both arrived at was smack dab in between a bookstore and a mom-and-pop store. There were little to no patrons in the cafe from the looks of it and it still had some streamers and balloons from their opening.
Good morning! Welcome to Cafe Hue.” One of the three workers on duty, the cashier, greeted as you entered.
You offered a smile and glanced briefly at the interior — a habit you picked up in middle school that pushed you into taking interior design. For its namesake, the overall interior was a crisp white with loud, brightly colored decors dotting the shelves. There was room for improvement with the choice of furniture, but it still works.
“What would you like?” Jaehyun asked, pulling you out of your reverie by softly squeezing your hand.
You looked up at the chalkboard menu, giving each item a thought until you settled on a hot cup of French vanilla tea. Jaehyun relayed your order to the cashier, who’s eyes seemed very eager to meet his gaze, and added his own order of an iced americano.
“Do you want anything to eat? We can share something if you’d like.”
“I don’t mind a slice of cake or muffin.”
Jaehyun bobbed his head, “Anything in particular?”
“What would you recommend?” You directed the question to the cashier giving heart eyes up at Jaehyun. She shifted her attention to you, a full second of annoyance flashing in her face before plastering a model customer service smile.
“Everything is freshly baked, our baker’s favorite is the basque cheesecake, but personally, I love the chocolate carrot cake.”
“Both sound good, so I’ll leave the choice up to you.”
The cashier’s smile brightened as she returned her attention to Jaehyun, who seemed oblivious to it.
“Then a slice of each.” He didn't wait for her to tally the order and pulled out his wallet, brandishing a black card from within and placing it on the counter. She seemed astonished to see the card in front of her, but it only took a second for her to punch your orders in while repeating it out loud to confirm. Jaehyun nodded and she swiped the card.
“Have you always been a tea person? I could have gotten you tea instead of coffee all this time at the library.” He inquired, pursing his lips ever so slightly at you.
“Not necessarily.” You shrugged your shoulders, “My mind has strongly associated coffee with productivity and since we’re not here to study, I’d rather have tea. I like both, equally.”
Jaehyun finished paying for the order and guided you to a seat by the window. He helped you into your seat briefly before seating himself.
There was a palpable pause when he looked at you and it almost became awkward until he coughed and glanced away, ears visibly red.
“I’m sorry,” He cleared his throat, “I’ve never really… taken anyone out on a date before.”
The admission made your brows shoot up a little, “What? You’ve never dated anyone?”
He shook his head, “No. Wasn’t really interested… until I met you.”
The confession made your heart skip a beat and the faintest heat rose up your cheeks. “Oh. Uhm,” You stuttered, “I… I didn’t expect that from you.”
He sighed, “I get that a lot — not to be vain or anything. I was just never interested in the dating scene.”
“Haven’t girls asked you out? None of them caught your eye?”
Jaehyun shook his head again. “They all seemed… pretentious? No, too eager? Like I’m prey or something.”
You’re still having a hard time believing that this gorgeous man has not dated at all — let alone having you as the first person he’s ever expressed interest in. “What makes me different?”
Slowly, a small smile formed on his lips, “That’s what I’d like to know.”
a/n: there's too much technical stuff in the next part, that's why i'm having a hard time writing, but!!! it's coming i swear pls dont give up on me im sorry for such the long wait (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

007 Fest 2024 Intro Post
Well, I got here at a quarter to 9 for my meeting with Bill Tanner—the chief of staff's my main point of contact. And quite a good friend, really, since I've been servicing EPS's contract for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office here for the last three years, and…oh, sorry, I'm Bethany Arden, the EPS facilities manager for MI6's Vauxhall headquarters. You could say I know every inch of this building—because I do! From the physical-security perimeter barriers outside to every air vent and water pipe, there's no structural detail too small for my blueprints.
And today, I came bearing great news! The FCDO finally approved a budget for a much-needed refresh of the furnishings. Listen, can I be honest for a moment? I love this building to bits, but it's one of the ugliest in my portfolio by far, strictly on an interior design basis. You have to agree, this place's design aesthetic should have been buried along with Margaret Thatcher—all that walnut wainscoting and brown leather upholstery, ugh. Hardly the modern, agile look and feel you want to project to important visitors, is it?
Speaking of agile, you should see the new ergonomic chair designs in my supplier's 2024 catalogue. They've also got some surprisingly affordable standing desks that raise and lower with the press of a button—who says you can't be Equality Act-compliant and still be stylish, eh?
So, as I was saying, I arrived early, lugging this far-too-heavy-for-me tote bag of fabric and paint swatches…oh, could you? That's so kind, thank you. And I confess my nose was buried in another catalogue, bookmarking new seating units that might replace those dreadfully uncomfortable plaid numbers in the lobby, so I didn't even notice Doris at the front desk was asleep at her post for a whole five minutes. I mean, I did think it odd that Bill didn't answer my text right away; he's always appreciative of punctuality. But then someone started screaming down the hall, and when I finally looked around I spotted Doris, and those two guards passed out in the corner, and—
Well. Looks like I'll be rescheduling my meeting. Once all of this is…sorted. But don't you think we ought to call emergency services? Surely some outside help will straighten this out. No? Oh. Oh, I suppose you're right. Well, all hands on deck, as they say. I'm happy to help however I can.
Just, um, one more thing. Has anyone seen Bill?
~
Hi all, I'm samanthahirr aka Sam, and I'm so looking forward to my third 007 Fest for the @mi6-cafe! I'm on Station Atlantic, and I bring fic-writing, moodboard-dabbling, and enthusiastic-commenting skills to the team!

❤️ Pokemon Center Ranking ❤️
The Pokemon center has been a location in every Pokemon game since the beginning, a safe place for the player to stop, heal, and reorganize. The Pokemon center varies between regions, so part of me wonders which is the best one, I created a set of Criteria to judge each Pokemon center:
Design: Overall, how much do I like the design?
Coziness: How comfortable does this place look? Would I feel safe being here?
Environment: How well does the Pokemon Center blend in with the environment? Is it well hidden and feels like a natural part of the town or does it stick out unnaturally?
Theme: How good is the song played? Is it a simple song or does it make you love being at the Pokemon Center?
I did some checking and made a Google form for voting (featured at the end of this post). For now, here’s my opinion on the various Pokemon centers, best to worst.
Blueberry Academy (19)
Design: 3
Coziness: 1
Environment: 10
Theme: 5 (Shares Terarium Theme)
Looking over the history of Pokemon centers, it’s interesting to see how the technology and functions changed over time, Gen 5 saw the Poke-mart put inside it and Gen 8 removed the PC, Blueberry Academy removed the entire building. The “Self-Service Healing Centers” are pokemon centers stripped down to their bare essentials, you heal, buy items at a nearby vending machine, and leave, there’s no calming theme or lady to welcome you, you just heal and leave. The areas they are in don’t take away from the surrounding terarium, but it also doesn’t feel like somewhere I can just sit down and rest
Johto (23)
Design: 4
Coziness: 6
Environment: 6
Theme: 7
I know most of my problems with Johto are its system, but I’m still not a fan, the colors are very extreme, the layout and building are the same as the Red and Bue one, and the music adds this drum-like sound to the original music that really doesn’t help it. Also, the chairs don’t have backs, everyone who sits there will be slouching. Sorry Johto fans, this isn’t my cup of tea… but the Heart Gold-Soul Silver Pokemon Center is.
Johto (HGSS) (26)
Design: 10
Coziness: 3
Environment: 5
Theme: 8
I won’t be including the ORAS or FRLG Pokemon centers since they’re either HD upgrades to their original design or just the Hoenn Pokemon Center. The Johto Pokemon Center in HGSS is a fairly solid design that changes a little to fit some towns, and the interior is two floors, something only one other pokemon center will have and I will always love. The theme is much better, the drums actually work now, but this pokemon center loses in terms of comfort… there’s nowhere to sit and rest.
Kanto (27)
Design: 5
Coziness: 7
Environment: 7
Theme: 8
Ah yes, the original pokemon center and I’d say it’s a pretty nice one, there are seats with backs, a few nice trees, and the theme is a nice base for future themes to build on. This pokemon center is fairly basic, but still a nice place to be, I feel like if pokemon centers were real, they’d look more like the Kanto ones.
Galar (27)
Design: 10
Coziness: 5
Environment: 7
Theme: 5
Similar to the basic Kanto Pokemon center, but has more of a comforting atmosphere that’s able to blend in with a lot of Galarian towns, especially Spikemuth and Ballonlea, even including a variation that’s built into other buildings. The theme is alright and the building is nice, but where the Galar Center fails is coziness, there are no seats, only tables so everyone has to stand.
Alola (28)
Design: 8
Coziness: 7
Environment: 6
Theme: 7
Alola is fairly similar to Galar, the interior is very well-themed to Alola, and even has a cafe to one side to make up for the wooden chairs it has. The exterior, specifically the roof, stands out a lot of the time, and from a lot of towns, and I think the start of the theme leans way too much into it being in Alola. I will admit the Po Town is cool, but that’s only one location.
Sinnoh (29)
Design:6
Coziness: 8
Environment: 7
Theme: 8
The Sinnoh Pokemon Center is the same as the Hoenn, Unova, and FRLG Pokemon Center, only missing a glass table, but the tree and bookshelves are nice. Initially the theme had a lower score, but then I heard the night version and I fell in love with it.
Hoenn (29)
Design: 6
Coziness: 8
Environment: 5
Theme: 10
All that’s different some Sinnoh is that there’s a table… it’s fairly similar… but has one big saving grace: THE THEME. It is so calming, it perfectly remakes the original pokemon center theme in a way that makes it more relaxing and maybe even nicer on the ears. I was genuinely caught off guard by how good it is.
Paldea (32)
Design: 9
Coziness: 7
Environment: 10
Theme: 6
I was initially going to do a simple ranking and I was going to put Paldea as second worst… but in a strange way all the things I dislike about Paldea make it a really good pokemon center. The design is fairly simple and doesn’t stand out that much, but that perfectly allows it to blend in with the environments, the massive pokeball sign above it doesn’t take away from the surrounding area but still marks its location. I initially gave it a 5, but noticing it has some chairs on the side of it boosted it to a 7, not higher because there aren’t any walls, sure the game doesn’t let pokemon enter the area, but realistically that level 89 garchomp is still getting me.
Kalos (34)
Design: 8
Coziness: 10
Environment: 6
Theme: 10
My first game was XY and I’m happy I got this solid of a pokemon center. This is probably the coziest pokemon center, it has chairs and a long sofa with a corner seat, changing room, the largest pokemon center library out of any region! The theme is so good, the guitar playing the classic theme is so soothing, Kalos and Hoenn have the best music. There is only one thing that holds Kalos back from being perfect, the design, the interior was painted by Caulde Monet himself… but the exterior… Why does such a cozy building have such an industrial roof? You’re telling me if I sit down and look up I’ll see a Costco Roof? This ‘bold’ design heavily contrasts a lot of the towns they’re in.
Unova (35)
Design: 10
Coziness: 9
Environment: 7
Theme: 9
This is the best pokemon center building, it has two floors, the first to combine the pokemon center and the poke-mart, and across from the poke-mart is a cute area to sit and read a book. The entire building reminds me of a mall, a social area for people to gather and get what they need. The theme is probably the most pokemon center, pokemon center theme, comforting and makes me feel like I can relax.Technically this is the best pokemon center but I just love the number one pick even more.
Kitakami (37)
Design: 10
Coziness: 8
Environment: 10
Theme: 9
Many will disagree with me, but the small pokemon center stand in Mossui town is the single greatest pokemon center in all of pokemon. The design is so wonderfully simple and fits perfectly into this small town, a full size pokemon center would be such a distraction and feel so out of place. The theme for it is Mossui town which is also really good, there’s nowhere to sit, but who needs to sit when there’s this Nurse Joy, when she smiles and heals your pokemon, it doesn’t just feel like a friendly woman doing her job, it’s your aunt helping you out and doing a little gossip on the side. Her presence alone clears every other pokemon center in any other region.
Here’s the link to join the discussion and vote on which is best:
Edit: Wrong link! Sorry!

Espresso Yourself Full CC
I love hot drinks while reading my favorite novels, so why not make it into a cozy business? Where all introverts bundle up together to create a fantasy in their minds and put it into story books. This lot is my inner introvert design came into fruition xD.
The floor plan is pretty much simple, I don't really like to burden employees with heavy cleaning haha.
Cafe Interiors is filled with Jacky93sims goodness (Donuts and pastries), most of them are self-service so, it's pretty much fun:
Library Interiors is pretty simple, discussions table and bunch of Parsimonious bookcases. I want to recommend this mod to create functional library. But you cant study life skills from AL so I am not recommend it.
I also love reading in a park, and eating street food and webnovel is a match made in heaven. So this is just a small part of that indulgence.
This computer room is where you can write articles or papers or just chat in the community.
Finally, a room where you can watch documentaries, novel inspired channel and many more, accompanied with Jack93sims popcorn maker.
Bonus room is upstairs using elevator, however it mostly for witches in training. You can stay here as long as you can until your witch level reach maximum.
I have tested the lot so for it's fun to play, people eating popcorn while watching Tv and many more. I originally want to make it residential business to make the computer room functional but, the bills goes through the roof. Haha, So yeah if you want you cant change it using cheats.

Her personal library room is immaculately & meticulously organized. Several works of arts and sculptures are found throughout the place. She has a few pet cats & their names are Guinevere, Adelaide, Blair, Cosette, Eloise, and Vivienne.
Eikono usually gets around the city by walking, public transportation, or riding her bike.
She holds the few remaining copies of books from the days of the Titanomachy very dear to her heart. The texts are in Old Greek & to maintain their pristine condition, she keeps them locked away in a cool safe.
Eikono also has a collection of antique typewriters!
A common breakfast for her is a bowl of Earthly Harvest vanilla almond cereal with soy milk. She also likes whole wheat banana pancakes, zucchini hash browns, & various overnight oats (her personal favorite being the apple cinnamon).
There's always a book or two in her bag (if they can fit)!
Eikono was responsible for designing the flags of the respective realms. It was a cathartic moment when she watched the predecessor's flag (Titanius) burn to ashes. The flags of the realms are iconic in their own right! Olympius' flag is an eagle against a gold field holding an olive branch and lightning bolt in each of its talons. The flag of the Underwater realm is that of a hippocampus against a royal blue field with the royal crest in the background. The flag of the Underworld is that of a silver Cerberus against a black field while the flag of the Freshwater Territories is that of a leaping silver trout against a pastel blue field with a wispy cloud above it.
A go-to drink for her is homemade lemon infused water. She also likes ginger ale, lemon-lime soda, peppermint tea, white wine, soy milk, pineapple juice, & sugar cookie milkshakes from The Frozen Spoon. She also likes the cafe au lait, vanilla hazlenut latte, olympian sized flat whites, and small pear banana splashes from The Roasted Bean.
Though Eikono loves all formats of books, her personal preference are hardcovers, for aesthetic reasons.
She has a following on social media. On her PanopTube channel she posts videos of book reviews, author interviews, & book hauls. Her bookshelf tour video has four million views!
Eikono has quite a few jobs/businesses. She oversees the New Olympus Public Library downtown, has a publishing company (Inkdrop Press), bookstores (Pterýgio & Kýlisi), a book subscription box service (Page Turners), as well as being an acclaimed writer! She has written many books in a variety of genres geared towards children & adults. She also has an official website where she sells decorative bookmarks! For other means of income Eikono models for/endorses Threads of Wisdom, White Lily Gallery, and Olive Visibly.
She loves the roast chicken sandwich (on ciabatta bread) from The Bread Box.
A guilty pleasure for her are rainbow sushi rolls!
In the pantheon Eikono's good friends with Dimósia (goddess of debate), Litismós (goddess of culture), Pathos (god of emotion), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity), Neicus (god of debate & appeal), Mousika (goddess of studying & music), Favian (god of philosophy), Eusebeia (goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect), Porus (god of resourcefulness), Aeschyne (goddess of modesty & honor), Penia (goddess of poverty), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Soteria (goddess of safety), Elpis (goddess of hope); her cousin's wife, Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment), Nomos (god of laws), Mnemosyne (Titaness of memory & language), Ptocheia (goddess of beggary), Themis (Titaness of justice), Aletheia (goddess of truth), and Hestia (goddess of the hearth).
She also admires the work of Athena (goddess of wisdom).
An odd treat that Eikono likes is the buttered popcorn flavored saltwater taffy. She gets a box of them once a month at Confection Carousel, the candy shop owned by Záchari (god of confectionery).
She hosts annual book drives on the steps of the library every year.
For her birthday her girlfriend got her the book stack shaped jeweled Diamond Ave. clutch.
She's currently in a relationship with Sophia (goddess of thought). It was said that Eikono was attracted to her brain before anything else. They've been dating for a few months & they both feel really comfortable with each other. She enjoys the many intellectual discussions they have and they way her heart flutters every time Sophia laughs. They sometimes spend the night at each other's place (Sophia is only a thirty minute cab ride away in the Little Athens neighborhood). They're currently planning a month long vacation to Olympia.
Her favorite desserts are the poppy seed cupcakes and kariokes from Hollyhock's Bakery.
She once donated two million drachmas to a small public school in Ithaca whose library was destroyed in a flash flood.
A couple of years ago at the Olympian Gala (there was no set theme), Eikono showed up in a custom made gown known as the "La Bibliotheque" dress. The dress had a full skirt, a mixture of leather & old paper, skillfully intertwined with tulle, rattan, and lace. The spines of old books were used to craft the corset- the complete process taking almost 250 hours! Her short light blonde hair was in a low tight chignon.
Her all time favorite meal is garlic ginger chicken with white rice. She's also a huge fan of Sophia's macaroni salad.
In her free time Eikono prefers reading to watching TV. She also loves working on her writing (while classical music is playing in the background). Outside she enjoys jogging, bike riding, going to museums, football (soccer), and horseback riding.
"Books are the mirrors to the soul."
