Plastic Estate release “CODE D’AMOUR” LP via AVANT! Records
Cardiff based synth-pop duo Plastic Estate release a brand new 'Code D'Amour' LP via European label 'AVANT! Records. Described as reviving 80's Synth but with a modern edge, the band have enjoyed some positive reactions from BBC Radio Wales Welsh-A List and in the press from Radar Magazine and KEYI Magazine respectively.
The Welsh synth-pop act's sophomore album hails a new era for the act. Their sound has progressed to a brighter, more polished aesthetic with fresh influences from the Hi-Fi luxury of West Coast Sound and the gloss of 2010s Chillwave.
Plastic Estate is a contemporary synth-pop act from Cardiff. With an onus placed on atmosphere and refinement, the duo evoke a rich palette of romance and lustre with their polished marque of pop music.
They have garnered support from the likes of Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, KEXP and BBC Radio, played sold-out shows with the likes of LA Priest, Home Counties, and Real Lies, as well playing as large regional festivals like Ritual Union, Celebrate This Place and Sŵn Festival. They’ve also received local and international press from the likes of Buzz Magazine, post-punk.com, CVLT Nation, Vanyaland and Bandcamp, and Apple Editiorial
Having previously released a 7” and LP with Italian cult label Avant! Records, they have now releasing their sophomore LP, “CODE D’AMOUR” for the label with new tracks gaining critical acclaim being added to BBC Radio Wales’s ‘Welsh A-List’, RADAR Magazine, as well as international publications such as Berlin’s KEYI Magazine.
Having just played to a full room at Swn Festival, they have upcoming shows in London and Liverpool in November (Supporting US act, House of Harm) as well as a headline gig at Clwb Ifor Bach on 6th December. They are also booked to play Southampton’s Wanderlust festival in May (not yet announced) with talks with other festival bookers ongoing.
Their debut physical release, This Place, a 7-inch vinyl and digital single, showcases Plastic Estate’s ability to draw from the timeless sounds of the UK’s 80s new wave icons like Depeche Mode, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Prefab Sprout, while still sounding fresh and modern. Their music strikes a perfect balance between electronic dance elements and acoustic instruments, combining upbeat pop melodies with darker, more melancholic lyrics. This contrast creates a sophisticated yet breezy atmosphere, making their sound both nostalgic and contemporary.
The Album is available on Total Clear Vinyl and can be purchased directly from the bands Bandcamp Here
