havent drawn in months and i was so out of it i could barely understand what i was drawing. BUT ive been wanting to redesign a character for a while... her name is lyall esmeray

still not done redesigning but i couldnt do much with my brain not working lol

she was originally for art homework back in 2016 (something like making a character with 3-4 colors?)

she used to be named lyall luna but i didnt like the alliteration anymore

but i was shocked the name was so wolf inspired despite her not having anything related to wolves so. shes part wolf now. and that made me world build LOL

so basically the settings gone from modern-whatever the hell it was to medieval fantasy

the city she lives in is quite corrupt and honestly runs itself more like a business rather than a place people are supposed to live in, but those aspects are kept mostly under wraps so the majority of civilians are unaware

growing up, lyall wanted to join the city guard to help provide for her family and learned archery and magic

she was accepted, but was subject to modifications she wasnt aware would happen

they made her a wolf hybrid to create a skilled hunter instead of becoming part of the city guard, and hunts animals for the castle goers to eat

however she herself is not allowed to eat her catches until the royals have eaten, despite her instincts to rip in

she doesnt remember her family anymore but longs for them like a wolf separated from her pack, because thats sort of what she is now

thatssss sort of all i have for her right now but theres a whole fae thing im working on too LOL

this was from errrmmm. last year in april! whoops

i was inspired by the song "in a deep, dark forest" by kikuo and ended up making an entire character so yeahhh lol. i was gonna make another drawing and post them together but i sort of abandoned it and didnt draw much last year... but i might come back to it :) character explanation under the cut!

so baaaasically iirc shes a forest spirit created to lure people into the forest to feed it

the forest feeds on living souls but has no use for the rest of the body, so their empty shells are left wandering the forest like empty dolls

raya herself doesnt know that this is happening.. just that she attempts to befriend people, and they end up this way. she ends up playing with them like dolls because its the only way she gets any "interaction"

shes bound to the forest herself, so the only people shes lucky to meet are unlucky enough to meet her

but yeah :3 yippee!
