Are you a Concordia student looking for a part time job? Check these tips:
1. Look at all the options for on-campus jobs here:Â http://www.concordia.ca/âĻ/financial-supâĻ/jobs-on-campus.html
2. Check out the positions on the CAPS job bank. Go to MyConcordia - Student Services - Counseling and Development - CAPS and search.
3. Check if you are eligible for Work-Study and apply. (Just remember that most of those positions are usually posted on CAPS or other places before being posted on the Work Study website) https://www.concordia.ca/students/financial-support/work-study.html
3. Check out the positions on the CSU Hojo classifieds.https://classifieds.csu.qc.ca/Â (When not sure just Google HOJO Classifieds). If you are a new user, you need to register as a student to see all the ads. Graduate students are also welcome to register and view the ads.
4. Book an appointment with Career and Planning Services (CAPS) on 2070 Mackay St., Ground Floor, or call (514) 848-2424, ext. 7345. They can help you with your CV and give you tips and strategies on how to find a job suited to your interests and skills.
5. Look at other job banks, like Indeed, EmploiQuebec, Jobboom, etc.
6. Most companies have a "careers" or "jobs" section on their website, so make sure you check the websites of the places where you think you might want to work. Â
6. If you don't have any work experience, you might consider doing some volunteering fist. A good place to start your search is the Concordia Live Centre: http://www.concordia.ca/offices/live.html Remember that you can find a volunteering opportunity that suits your career goals, skills and availability.
7. Finally, don't forget to ask friends and colleagues, and let people know you are looking for work. You never know where help might come from. Good luck!
