As for his interest in the paranormal, Arthur has always had a knack for finding the weird and wonderful! Arthur’s mom is very much into spirits and harmony, having grown up in the 70s! Arthur grew up in a magical world thanks to his family, and he swiftly took a liking to similar things his mom liked, just on the darker side of the spectrum. As a kid, Arthur was fascinated by creatures others would call “Monsters.” Vampires, werewolves, zombies, he felt seen by them, and he wanted to find them in hopes of finally fitting in somewhere. When talking to his brother about these beasts, his older brother informed him of things called “cryptids,” even going as far as to share a “personal account” he had with big foot when fishing by the lake one night. Because of their encouragement and support, Arthur blossomed into the skillful paranormal investigator you see before you now!

(Also, on a more serious note, Arthur’s favorite cryptid is either Loch Ness Monster, or the Jersey Devil! He has met a few supernatural entities, but I don’t know if they’d be classified as specifically cryptids!)

the young boy with tattered shorts and a t-shirt two sizes too big held an ax with clumsy hands. as giant as he was for his age, he was still dwarfed by the shadow of his father looming behind him.

you’ll outgrow a jacket the minute we buy one. when i was your age, i was runnin’ around shirtless in the snow.

the boy said nothing. his father polished off the bottle in his hand and tossed it to the side of the stump in front of them both. a thick chunk of wood rested on top of it, waiting to be split into firewood.

do it again. the right way. don’t make me repeat myself.

the oregon winter tore through the boy’s t-shirt like paper as he hesitantly adjusted his grip on the ax. it was a heavy thing, and no amount of fidgeting made the worn, splintered wood any kinder to his hands. he reeled it back the same way he did for his little league baseball games, then-

no, damnit. remember what i said!

the boy’s father swatted the back of his head, and the boy quickly corrected himself. he let the blade rest on the edge of the stump instead, and his hands slid over to the back of the handle. backpedaling, he tried to lift the blade up into the air.

it didn’t get far. the blade wasn’t balanced the same as his plastic bats, and he couldn’t lift it high enough over his shoulders to swing at the chunk of wood on the stump. he kept trying to raise it, but the ax began to shake.

swing, damn it!

the boy tensed, and the blade swung down, but it didn’t catch the wood. instead, it wedged itself in the roots at the base of the stump. startled, the boy’s grip loosened, and he let go of the ax.

what are you doing, kid? pick it back up.

the boy stumbles forwards, but his feet are clumsy too. he is downward-bound, and scrapes his knee against the scraps of wood around the stump. his palms plant firmly into the ground on either side of himself, and he seethes. tears threaten to dot his eyes.

rub some dirt on it, thomas. get up.

thomas doesn’t move.

i don’t wanna do this anymore.

but his father’s shadow looms over him.

i don’t care. you’ll learn to use that damn thing if it kills you.

I think the mods? mentioned that not everyone in the cast is slender sick right? who is or isn’t if this hasn’t already been answered if that has then,,, how does everyone that is slender sick and if the cast that isn’t were slender sick act???

tommie is infected with slender-sickness. when he gets slender-sick, things get blurry and hazy, almost like all of his senses are shrouded in a thick fog. his movements are deliberate, but not of his own accord; while he's usually on autopilot, when tommie is slender-sick he isn't the one at the helm of the ship. he enters a fugue state, and what happens during it, as well as how much of it he remembers, depends entirely on what the faceless man wills it to be.

Dia is not infected. But if Dia were to get slender sick to the point of proxy level it would make her extremely aggressive. She would find any and all reasons of other ppls actions to align w her moral code of “only kill those that hurt others”. The sickness would twist her mind and make her lash out even on her friends. She’d keep herself cooped up in her studio drawing & painting all sorts of graphically gore induced scenes. Her craving for Justice warped as she becomes extremely paranoid to the point of thinking even sweet little Bonnie is against her

Tobin is very Slender Sick and is a proxy (unwillingly). The symptoms he experiences is hostile paranoia, outbursts, coughing fits, nosebleeds, nightmares, pounding headaches, hallucinations, and just an overall feeling like he's losing control/going insane. It comes in waves and depends on factors like stress, how close he is to the forest or other sick people, and how active Slenderman is. When he goes "proxy mode" (AKA when Slender decides to use the boy as his acting hand) he completely blacks out, doesn't have a clue what happened. He'll wake up in dirty gas station bathrooms coughing over a sink, in the middle of the forest with graveyard dirt crusting his shoes, or in some run down motel room with blood on his hands. He never knows who's it is. He also is sort of like Jay from Marble Hornets in terms of obsessively looking into Slenderman and trying to find answers. Tends to dig his own grave yknow

Tali is infected but the infection is dormant, her symptoms are very mild/non existent. She experiences some symptoms when Tobin's symptoms act up, or if people around her are sick. She'll sometimes vaguely see Slenderman from under flickering street lights at night or across the highway standing amongst the trees, but she doesn't think much of it. When she experiences the sickness, it's mostly a dazed headache, coughing, maybe a nosebleed if its intense. Nothing too worrying though, just loses her head a little bit.

Arthur is infected, but his sickness seems to be partially tamed by the medicine he takes for his Tourette’s. Because of this bizarre phenomenon, Arthur’s body physically tries to reject the Slenderman and his effects, which results in him coughing up blood and his hair falling out and turning white. Any way Arthur’s body can, it tries to shed the entity from itself, because it has enough awareness to, if that makes sense! However, the medicine only helps so much. Arthur can still be influenced by the Slenderman. Arthur’s personality becomes a lot more confident, his actions a lot more volatile and dangerous (no regard for his own safety.) While he is still pretty conscious in a slender sick state, his memories and thoughts are all scrambled, jumbled. When it comes to others, Arthur has an easy time remembering who someone is to him if they elicit a strong emotion, whether that be positive or negative. For example, Arthur would go out of his way to protect one of the group because, while he can’t remember exactly why, he knows they’re important for some reason because of the strong emotions he feels for them. He also becomes a lot more prone to tic attacks/being jittery.

Bonnie is infected, but she isn't a proxy cuz the infection only weakens her. She caught it at a young age since her orchard is near the forest.

When she's actively sick, she starts off very panicked, crying, and hyperventilating till she eventually becomes almost zombie-like. She's super lethargic, throws up blood, stumbling all over, but she's always trying to attack whoevers closest. Reaching for knives, guns, and throats. but it's really easy to just push her head back and keep her at arms length...

Bonnie remembers her sickness almost like a foggy dream.

scout is infected and has been pretty much her whole life!!! shes not a proxy or anything but she used to 'sleepwalk' all the time as a kid like waking up dazed in the forest at night or super early in the morning which rlly freaked her out LOL she'd walk barefoot back home lost n sobbing. now she lives more in town so shes further away from the forest n her symptoms rlly calmed down... UNTIL. she got dragged into serious slender business by a certain someone (tobin) and all her symptoms started acting up again LOL mostly paranoia n freaking out a ton, scratching at herself, hallucinating her veins going black, or just spacing out, 'sleepwalking', going into a fugue state etc etc ^_^

Shannon is slendersick, she inherited it from her mother. Her mom was pregnant while having the sickness, and Shannon strives to know more, yet doesn't dare to search for the awnsers just yet. Her symptoms involve randomly passing out and awakening in a different spot, blood stained hands, so she is also an unwilling proxy. Frequent nosebleeds and fatique too. The permanent wound on her arm due to her past with the medical cult, is the first place weirdly black vines start to spread across her body, the normally bruised color turning pitch black. Interesting here is that her plushies have no involvement or duty to slender, the only thing they love and cherish is Shannon and will protect her no matter what or who.

whats everyones form of transportation?

Tobin either walks places or rides stolen bikes around town. He'll sometimes even just befriend people to get them to drive him places, but not often, because it's a lot of effort

Nico's got a motorcycle she uses to get around that she stole off of one of her old trysts. It's a sleek black thing that's all scuffed up from use, she doesn't know the model herself but it's a yamaha.

Shannon usually walks but she has a bicycle that she'd occasionally use, with a small trailer to attach. (In a crack universe she just spawns everywhere with a plop noise.

Bonnie either takes the train that’s on the east side of town OR she drives her papas red pickup truck. Depends if he needs it that day. Otherwise she walks around

Tali walks, takes the bus (assuming there is one), or takes a cab if she really needs to. Her job isn't too far from her apartment, so she rarely needs to travel any unwalkable distances

Tommie is always on his feet, and he prefers it that way. He's rarely in a rush to go anywhere, and watching the world move around him is one of his favorite pastimes. He can drive (he's very good at it, too), but he doesn't own a car.

Blythe goes wherever the rest of the gang goes, for the most part! Because she’s a kid (the spirit of a kid from the 1800s at that) she can’t really use things like public transportation! And she can’t really go anywhere without accompaniment period, being what she is. So, most reliable mode of transportation for her is piggy back rides/being carried around!

scout never leaves her room so no worries about that! but if some random boy just so happens to break into her home and drag her out, she will walk places!

Dia drives a 1600 red beetle 1979 model. If its within walking distance she will walk though! She enjoys taking her friends for rides in her car on warm summer days

In the one comic of Tommie and bonnie he has a scar but all the other art it’s like blacked out. Is there a reason or do you just not like drawing the scar? Also how did he get it?

hi. deepsix here. i have no problems with drawing his scars, i just think this arguably the cooler way to draw him. it's just as much a part of his design as his scars to me. like look at this wip (don't ask what it's from, it's going to take years to finish) and try to tell me it's not at least a little bit cool looking lmaooo

and he got them from the same incident that ended him up in farnbury. i have something in the works for later that'll have more info about that, but that's all i'm gonna say for now.

the comic was made by me(sucker) so its not perfectly in character, BUT the general vibe of nico scolding tommie was 'why are you letting her walk all over you? she's using you to clean up her shop, you shouldnt let her do that' nico and tommie have a pretty complicated relationship in the first place, cuz nico doesnt take shit and tommie is very passive. so when she sees a big guy like tommie getting pushed around(even if bonnies not intentionally doing so), she thinks its pathetic and wants to say something

Tommie is a bonafide human being with bone and skin and everything that normal humans have! Definitely nothing inhuman about him! Trust me!

Bonnie can see and interact with ghosts, but aside from that, she's completely human

Tobin is completely human he's just a little freak, same with Tali

Nico is human too, even if she goes about acting like she's something better.

Shannon is a human too, however when she is in the trance of the slendersickness, the permanent bruise on her left arm will turn darker and spread across her skin. Its as if the blood and cells beneath are turning black.
