[ad_1] GG News Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, 11th Dec. Kerala’s ruling CPI(M) acknowledged that holding the Vanchiyoor area conference by blocking the road outside the court complex was “avoidable.” CPI(M) MLA and Thiruvananthapuram district secretary V Joy admitted the lapse, calling it a “mistake” by the Vanchiyoor area committee. The admission followed a Kerala High Court observation on Tuesday that the conference violated judicial orders prohibiting public meetings that obstruct traffic. The court also sought an explanation regarding actions taken against the violation. The Additional Advocate General, representing the state and police, informed the court that the Station House Officer of Vanchiyoor Police Station would be present on December 12 to provide details. Meanwhile, the police confirmed that a case was registered on December 5 under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for unlawful assembly, blocking the road, and violating court orders. Around 30 individuals were arrested and released on station bail due to the minor nature of the charges. Materials used to construct the stage were also seized. The High Court’s remarks came in response to a plea seeking contempt proceedings against CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan for allegedly flouting judicial directives. The case will be further heard next week. However, her father and Trinamool Congress district committee member, Nihar Mukherjee claimed, “She [Bristi] was intelligent in her education. But after getting the job, she did not even join. She never took a salary either.” He claimed, “She is a burns patient and right now, is admitted at a hospital.” Meanwhile, opposition parties hit out at the ruling TMC over the matter. CPI (M) leader Sujan Chakraborty said, “We have been saying that the Chief Minister’s family was involved in this scam. Now, the investigation has reached her family.”
BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya said, “How shameless is this government? It seems clear that everything is linked to her [CM].” The TMC did not immediately react on the matter.
