Morpheus, the God of Dreams, takes pity on the King and Queen of Ithaca. Odysseus’s return is many years away, yet his and Penelope’s minds find each other in sleep. It’s both a blessing and a curse, and sometimes all that keeps them going.

Queen Penelope stepped into the dream as easily as crossing a threshold, and with her came the sun, as if Helios's carriage rode atop her billowing black hair. The carnage vanished in her presence, the ground no longer a battlefield but a sloping grassy hill dotted with olive trees. Her bright blue eyes almost glowed, searching the hillside with clear intent.

Morpheus stared as well, unable to believe that she stood before them. It was no shaped dream becoming a nightmare, no conjuration of the King’s mind to protect himself. It was her, slipping into his dream as if it were a room in their home. Answering her husband’s desperate cries.

i’m so glad you like her! i only ever see pittsburg or philly themed things which, like, i get the jokes, but they’re never quite relatable lol. i’m someone who mostly grew up central and spent so much time northeast. i crave knoebel’s refs!! i gotta remind people breaking ben’s our homeboy!! some of the BEST chips come from us!!

so yeah!! i really hope anyone who grew up in or close to the coal region areas felt a little at home with her, as rushed as she was. 🥹💕

Lembranças de Amor 

Há um tempo escrevi sobre nostalgia, sobre o quanto o passado me atravessa em vários momentos, me tirando sorriso e chororô, dos quais sinto felicidade e tristezas pela falta de algo. Hoje de volta aqui na casa da minha mãe, assistindo o filme de romance da trilogia “Before” que amo, minhas memórias de amor voltaram. 

Sempre me lembro de quando era pequeno, meus pais em harmonia, meu sentimento de pertencimento, fazia questão de ficar perto deles. Lembro de quando eles compraram um aparelho de som, prata, gradiente e com ele, vieram seus muitos cds e horas de músicas ouvidas, de vários cds, o que mais me chamava atenção era um do Skank, Cosmotron, tinha algumas faixas incríveis, românticas, viajadas, excitantes, e eu ouvia tanto esse álbum, que me estirava no tapete e ficava vendo as luzes da demo brincarem no painel do som.

Ali minha noção de amor veio a ser construída, lembro do romancismo dos meus pais, lembro dos gestos de carinho comigo nesses momentos, da expansão do amor deles em mim, uma novidade. Uma novidade que me pegava muito, pela carência, pelo novo, por algo que eu sabia que era muito rico em vários aspectos, mas nenhum deles era financeiro, era na simplicidade. Naqueles momentos eu ouvia esse álbum e algumas músicas me tiravam lágrimas, tinha um sabor de agridoce, pois era de felicidade e também de expectativa de um dia sentir algo que fosse parecido com o que era narrado nas músicas e no exemplo que tinha em casa.

Voltando ao presente e associando ao passado, ao final do filme tive uma sensação muito boa, era como se o que estivesse vendo tivesse relação com a construção da minha narrativa de amor, desde a lembrança do que sentia dos meus pais, das letras das músicas, associando ao que sinto hoje, a primeira sensação de amar alguém, com tanta intensidade. Que surpresa do destino, não? Naquela época ouvindo algumas letras chorava de amor por alguém que não existia, era muito verdadeiro, era de coração, era uma esperança que eu iria amar alguém, do jeito que eu via, do jeito que ouvia e, hoje, meu amor tem nome, sobrenome e eu amo e sinto tanto.

Sou grato por lembrar com tanta intensidade.
