ooc;; FINALLY getting to catch up on the oct 1-3 re: dracula entries so emotions are abt to pop off but listen, everyone makes up their silly little headcanons for why jack doesn't introduce jonathan to renfield so let me hit you with one. how deliciously unnerving would it be if renfield actually hones in on jonathan immediately upon his entering the room and has such a look of knowing, such a look of piercing perception into exactly who jonathan is and how the count has touched his life, that jonathan cannot bear to stand forward in front of him? those eyes know all the things dracula said to him, all the things the brides did to him, all the lies and tricks that were played and somehow these eyes intimate 'we are alike, you and i' and that is too stomach-churning for jonathan to confront. maybe jon is spending this encounter hiding in his friends' shadows and begging them not to draw renfield's attention back to him. no one else can understand all that that look meant, but jack is just complying in skipping his introduction to avoid setting jonathan off.
