reading this cn novel. for being a novel with such a trite and overused danmei concept, it nails well the use of stupid cuteness to make it digerible. chapter 39 and mouse mc hasnt become an addicted to cock vixen and is instead the "breadwinner of the family" by cooking locusts and still has a mouse brain meanwhile the ml, whos a warmachine, is like "god gave me such s good husband 🥺"

ive been liking it till now. feels like im reading magic hamtaro.

7/10 till now? it aint a masterpiece but i was so fucking tired of celebrity/interstellar/transmigration cooking shows where nothing happens, feels a bit fresh

Honkai Star Rail: Funny Info about MC

Did you know that the Female MC and Male MC are both in the title of Honkai Star Rail? Or technically the name of the “Receptacle”, which is either Receptacle Stelle or Receptable Caelus. The “vessels”.

Honkai Star Rail’s title is 崩坏：星穹铁道

Stelle’s name is 星。

Caelus’s name is 穹。

星(Stelle)穹(Caelus)铁道

When I see their name in chinese, it’s really cute because of how simple they are, only 1 word. Stelle’s name is simple, “Star”. Caelus’ name I think depends, because 穹 can mean “Vastness”, “Vault”, “the Firmament”，but i’m going to go with Vastness.

So 星穹铁道 would be “Railway of the Vast Stars”, the path where Stelle/Caelus will tread as Trailblazers.

Or uh, well. O just think it was kinda cool.

ALSOOOOOOOO FUNNY but just realized that Pom-Pom in the CN text is actually just 帕姆，”Pàmû/Pam/Pom”. IDK why the english version decided to double the Pom for Pom-Pom. Maybe because it’s cute?

thinking about re-reading Lolita.

Why?

Bc the first i read it i was a mentally unwell 15 year old and i felt understood.

the book is not romantic. it is not cute. it is a powerful depiction how adults delude themselves when they hurt and abuse children in their care. how adults know that it is wrong. how they hide their crimes and then continue on with their Tuesday as if nothing happened.

and i am no sa victim. but the tale of Dolores Haze made a lot of sense to me. i wish a lot more people would read it for that. And not because it is a scandal novel or because of the americana backdrop and the cutesy vibes bc it is literally about a child or bc they don't understand literature and think it is a beautiful love story.

Nabokov was unsure about publishing this book bc he thought people would not get it. and i am afraid he was right. i am still glad that he did.

Edit: I finished it! I recommend it only if you have the time to read it through, and although the ending suffered bc the author got lazy, it was actually a fun and interesting read! The cards/trials were all super interesting, so I had fun! (Recommended)

Kaleidoscope of Death: (recommended) A man accidentally enters the 12 doors, which is a supernatural event that can either save him or kill him

(Everyone and their mother is in the reviews section with EXACTLY identical reviews: "this novel is great but the plot twist is trash. Five stars" 💀. I agree with them. A fantastic and HELLA scary novel but as long as you avoid the extras (which holds the plot twist), the novel is amazing. After reading it, I was afraid to open cabinets for a while and no longer feared death 😔 it is so bloody) [COMPLETED]

(I really enjoyed this fic bc it's similar to Supernatural Movie Actor App where the MC is naturally intelligent without seeming obnoxious, and the stories and arcs are all well thought out, creative, and fun. There's also somewhat found family, which I love. It was so much better than what I was expecting, but then again, the author has always made amazing stories (They’ve literally created the most highly rated novel on NovelUpdates and that novel inspired me as a person fr fr no cap. Highly recommend!!! It will change your life!!)) [UNCOMPLETED]

It’s not bad, just ordinary imo. One of its arcs DID inspire me tho so… you can make your own opinions about it) [COMPLETED]

maybe this is a silly thing to be excited over in the scheme of things but Astronave (Maelstrom's Spanish publisher) is sharing some early pages on instagram!! I love learning languages and so it's been a HUGE dream of mine to have a translated edition of something I've made... I'm so happy with everything I've seen of their work on it!! Spanish edition is out in June and the original English is out right... NOW!!

i was reading this cn novel today

while it's short and fairly cliche, it has some things that for me make it outstand feom the rest of "changing your own past stories". most of those transmigration to your own body in the past stories tend to be centered on revenge and that revenge always have the main character as victorious over the thwarted paeries who are left angry in the ground. here the mc, who actually doesnt really transmigrate but sees his possible future in a "dream", he tries a direct action and has the ml tell him that no, he was just doing a snivelling kid act and that hes still tethering on his parents and family "love" when he knows it would not happen.

that and also the fact that things doesnt always go well, even if he knows what the future is. i know this is like a low line, but theres so many bad novels who go full to the bottom when its about bad cliche to add

There seems to be a translation error in About Jingliu. Blade's story dialogues gave me some delicious suffering, but I know there's a different "feeling" when it comes to the original text and I was right, because 1) CN text for Blade was even more tragic and despair-inducing, and 2) this translation little error.

In EN, as seen above, it says that "as she [Jingliu] brandishes her sword" it would send phantom pain surging through Blade.

But in CN text the meaning is slightly different. In fact, there're some parts in CN text that are literally omitted (the part between the two "——") and it's basically saying:

"Every time I [Blade] swing my blade, phantom pain surges endlessly through my body —— every strike was fatal, every wound was agonizing but never enough to kill me —— it was all thanks to her!"

Of course, there's probably a more elegant way to word that, espcially since Blade speaks like a dignified old man lmao. Can't really think of flowery words.

So yes, anyways, my poor insane murder baby Blade... /sobbing/
