STEFANO PIA on Rise

Nato a Torino nel 1973, ha studiato architettura e lavorato nel mondo dell'arte contemporanea e in uno studio di architettura ospedaliera. Intrapresa la libera professione, si dedica alla progettazione di interni; nel 2008 apre il proprio laboratorio di produzione e progettazione di arredi su misura e del mobile di qualità, ancora oggi attivo. 

Da sempre si interessa del rapporto fra ambienti naturali e attività umane e dell'ecologia del paesaggio. Dal 2019 approfondisce in particolare il mondo della micologia, ritenendo quello dei funghi il regno fondamentale, da cui dipendono tutte le forme di vita del pianeta.

Attualmente la sua attività con i funghi si svolge nel suo piccolo laboratorio biologico domestico, dove seleziona, allevo e sperimenta con l'intenzione di portare le conoscenze accumulate verso un'attività che ruoti attorno alle innumerevoli applicazioni che ne possono derivare e alla divulgazione di questo misterioso mondo sconosciuto.

Emre Yıldız ile 'Yükseliş' kavramını bir Anka Kuşu gibi İzmir'in de küllerinden yeniden doğuşunu ele aldığımız bir sabah oldu.

Emre ile birlikte; tarihi İzmir yangınını ele aldık, kentin geçirdiği bir yıkımı ve sonrasında yeniden doğuşunu anmaya çalıştık. Yangın sonrasında İzmir'in nasıl Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin batıya açılan bir kapısına dönüştüğünü, yangının İzmir'e nasıl bir kimlik kazandırdığını konuştuk. Konuşma esnasında aklımızda kalan cümlelerden biri ise: "Bir kentin yükselişini konuşmak için önce onun küle dönüşünü yanışını da konuşmak gerekir. Hatta yanmadan önceki halini de konuşmak gerekir." oldu.

RISE – unser Thema im Januar 2024. Eva Nidecker ist die Gründerin von Open Ride. Vor vier Jahren hat sie in Zürich ihr erstes ungewöhnliches Spinning-Studio eröffnet, welches mittlerweile über 6'000 Mitglieder zählt. Was hat Eva als erfolgreiche Moderatorin und TV-Frau dazu bewogen, ein komplett neues Business aufzuziehen? Und wie hat sie bemerkt, dass es Zeit ist, diese Idee zu lancieren? Das haben wir direkt von ihr selbst am 26. Januar im neu eröffneten Open Ride in Basel gehört.

Mess to Masterpiece with Mike Johnson

Despite the challenging weather with rain and snow, the audience at Denver Dream Center's event on January 26th was nothing short of wonderful. The atmosphere was charged with inspiration as attendees were captivated by Mike's compelling journey of overcoming addiction, homelessness, and a period of incarceration.

What stood out was the powerful message that emerged from Mike's narrative – that life's messes can indeed become a message. Mike's ability to transform personal struggles into a beacon of hope resonated deeply with the audience. Their engagement was evident as they stayed after the talk to learn more about both Mike and the impactful initiatives at the Denver Dream Center. The event not only highlighted personal triumphs but also underscored the universal truth that our challenges can be transformative, offering a message of resilience and hope to all who face adversity.

Arrancamos el año con el tema ELEVAR.

La elección del tema estuvo a cargo de nuestra división de  Tampa Bay e ilustrado por Miss Crit 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

El sol debe ponerse antes de poder salir.... Entonces, recuerda, cada contratiempo se puede superar.

Cada nuevo reto nos obliga a recurrir a nuestras reservas de esperanza y determinación. Para vivir una vida plena, no debemos lamentarnos. Debemos levantarnos. 

El fénix que resurge de las cenizas es una metáfora muy buena. La ardiente desaparición de este pájaro místico simboliza la destrucción de viejas expectativas y de cómo se han hecho las cosas hasta ese momento.

Cada acto creativo es una transformación. Cada nuevo proyecto es un renacimiento.

Nos levantamos de todo lo que vino antes.

Por eso “¡levántate!”, es un grito de guerra para los oprimidos.

Todos deberíamos gritarlo, porque nuestro empoderamiento personal y colectivo están estrechamente vinculados, ¿no crees? El resurgir de diferentes voces crea una sociedad más rica y vibrante.

El objetivo no es llegar a la cima, sino levantarnos unos a otros. Juntos, ascendemos más alto.

Our theme for January is RISE. It was chosen by our Tampa Bay chapter and illustrated by Miss Crit.

The sun must set before it can rise. So, remember, every setback can be overcome. Each new challenge compels us to tap into our reservoirs of hope and determination. To live a fulfilling life, we must not wallow. We must rise. 

The phoenix rising from the ashes is such a juicy metaphor. The mystical bird’s fiery demise symbolizes the destruction of old expectations — and how it’s always been done. Every creative act is a transformation. Each new project is a rebirth. 

We rise from everything that came before. That’s why “rise up!” is a rally cry for the oppressed. But we should all be shouting, because our personal and collective empowerment are intricately linked. The rise of different voices creates a richer and more vibrant society. The goal is not reaching the top, it’s lifting each other up. 

Together, we rise higher.
