My immediate thought is Future! Raph comic?? I've only seen like two of those smh HE DESERVES FUTURE FICS TOO!!!!

anyway, maybe F!Raph survives and he gets to go back in time??? Anyway he saves the timeline or whatever but fnds it too painful to stay with his family, as much as he wants to. So it's more about wanting vs not wanting to stay kinda deal?? mannn thining about hwo differently he would handle saving the timeline than F! Leo or any of their other bros might. Like he grabs present Loe and is just like ' I don't blame you for this. We were just kids. I get it now - you're a great leader when you lead the way YOU want to' orrrr smthn lke that? Like F!Raph understands now that Leo wasn't jsut being a brat, he was scared asf and was trying to lead the only way he could think of!! I have many thoughts on their dynamic in the movie okay :)

I'm not v good at writing Raph but I'll give it a go:

Raph's footsteps echoed through the tunnels, far louder than they had in his youth. He wasn't too late. He wasn't too late to fix this!

He bounded into the lair, shouting carrying through the subway tunnels back to him. He remembered this. it was one of those things he'd been thinking about since the kraang had taken over. How he and Leo didn't have to fight like this. Sure, Leo was egging him on, but Raph knew better now. He understood Leo so much more now that his little brother was gone.

Raph stopped at the top of the stairs, breaths coming out ragged and shallow. CJ wasn't here yet. But then again, he probably didn't know how to get to the lair. Raph would have to find him later - he had to do this now. The key - as much as he wanted to go for it on his own - it could wait. It could wait for him.

The shouting stopped at his entrance, his heavy breaths and footsteps giving him away. He'd long lost the sight in his right eye, but he could still see the vague shapes of himself and his brothers. He'd know them anywhere.

They leapt into action immediately, but Raph was faster than he used to be, even if he was getting on in years.

Mikey was fast and unpredictable, whipping his chuks out and immediately going for the capture. Raph knocked them away easy, grabbing the youngest out of the air and tossing him away. He was holding back, just a little. He didn't want to hurt them, after all. Leo was on him immediately, kicking off of his arm, portaling behind him and going for the back shot. Raph heard the static of the portal before it appeared, turning and grabbing Leo's outstretched leg. He flung him away, too, the slider crashing right into..himself. Younger Raph.

Donnie was suddenly in his face, his bo whipping through the air with a sharp sound and landing a blow on Raph's arm. It was sort of like being hit with a cardboard tube - he'd lost feeling in that arm years ago. He grabbed the bo and spun, Donnie backwards several feet and landing easily.

" Who are you!? How'd you find this place?" Donnie snarled, Leo reappearing next to him, " I didn't get any kind of notifications - the security system should have alerted us and lasered you into pieces!"

Raph sighed deeply, his breath crackling in his chest. He squeezed Leo's shoulders, marveling at how tiny he used to be.

"Leo. Nothing that happens today is your fault. You can't take all the blame when Raph was arguin' back just as hard.." he chuckled, watching Leo's face change as he spoke, " You were just a kid. Hell, we were all just kids thrown into a shitty situation..."

He swallowed thickly, unsure what to say. He'd always been shit at pep talks.

" Look, you got a good head on your shoulders. You lead however ya need to and Raph will back off a little....he's just scared, Lee. And I know you are, too"

Raph pulled him into a tight hug, Leo's arms hesitantly coming up and squeezing him back. Raph turned to his past self. H looked tired. Did Raph himself always look that tired?

He guessed it was the burden of responsibility from a young age, Yeah, that would tire anyone out.

"c'mere, kiddo" Raphael pulled his past self into a hug, the fact that he was so small comapred to Raphael making something fragile in his chest curl up and cry a little. Right, they were all just kids.

" I'm sorry ya had to carry everyone like that...I know how hard it is. Leo's gonna be a fine leader, okay? Just..learn ta talk to him" He murmured, " I know we've never been great at that kinda thing, but he'll get it. I promise he'll get it"

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is book seven in the Pittsburgh Titan Series and the players and their relationships just keep getting hotter and hotter. This is Hendrix Bateman and bar owner Stevie Kisser’s journey to their HEA and boy oh boy what an incredibly entertaining and emotional journey it was. I have become a huge hockey romance fan and this author always manages to make the books in this series, so realistic, with so much love and emotion that I just can’t get enough.

Hendrix is one of the Lucky 3 of the original members of the Pittsburgh Titans Hockey team, but due to an injury he wasn’t on the plane that crashed and killed all his teammates. He deals constantly with his survivors guilt while also working hard at a relationship that has become increasingly difficult with his girlfriend Tracy. He finally realizes while at a toy drive that she was ruining with constant complaints, that it was time to move on without her. And he already has his sights set on the utterly unique, hot, bartender.

Stevie is the owner of Jerry’s Lounge, which is named after her grandpap who originally opened the bar. Every year since the bar has been open there has been a toy drive and with the help of her best friend since her freshman year in high school, Harlow Alston, who is now the girlfriend of Scott Dumelin, Pittsburgh Titans first line left winger, they have enlisted some of the players to come out to help with the event to increase the amount of donations.

Stevie has had a tough life with her mom leaving when she was young, to only calling now when she wants or needs money. Her days are too busy with her bar and her life, to be looking for love or a relationship until Hendrix walks into her bar and the sparks fly between them!

We’ve Still Got Hope

Chapter 4: Stable

Ba-bump… Ba-bump…                    Ba-bump… Ba-bump…

It was easy enough to time the loud click-clack of typing to the ECG machine going in the background. Donnie observed the slow but stable heartbeat, jotting notes in Junior’s file. His computer buzzed, interrupting the rhythm he had going. He cursed–it always shut down at the worst time–and slammed his hand on the side. “Stupid,” he muttered.

Ba-bump… Ba-bump…          Ba-bump… Ba-bump…

It sputtered before returning to its normal state. The thing was as thick as a brick, completely rudimentary compared to the tech he had prior to the invasion. Not much he could do about that. He made do with what resources could be scavenged and tried not to complain where April could hear and reprimand him for it. He understood how difficult it was for her to do supply runs alone.

Ba-bump… Ba-bump… Ba-bump… Ba-bump…

She used to have Draxum’s help. He acted as a pillar of wisdom in Splinter’s absence, comforting April and Mikey when all seemed lost. Donnie and his other brothers never enjoyed the yokai’s company but they couldn’t turn him away. Draxum genuinely cared about April–they must’ve bonded all those years ago. When the only worry in the world for the two of them was making sure Sloppy Joseph didn’t eat all the food before the student body could come down for lunch. Then, just when Donnie found himself warming up to Draxum’s presence, his odd form of care–

Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump.

“Shit,” Donnie hissed. He rushed over to Junior who only tilted his head in confusion, small hands clenching the examination table.

“Professor Donatello,” Junior started, voice trailing off as it tended to during his check-ups. His breathing was uneven and sweat began beading on his forehead. The palpitations caused Donnie’s computer to ping alerts, the loud notifications distracting and only stressing Junior out more.

“It’s okay.” Donnie wiped at Junior’s brow. He took the kid’s hand, pressing a device to his back. “Take a deep breath for me. Good. Exhale. You’re doing great, CJ. Another.” Donnie didn’t take his eyes off the kid, knew from experience that that always seemed to make his heartbeat speed up. Instead, he counted the pulse from the wrist in his grasp.

It took a couple minutes for Junior’s heart rate to slow down. All the while, Donnie whispered encouragements. They were awkward and stilted but they did more good than harm so Donnie kept saying them. Eventually, Junior’s pulse returned to its regular, concerningly slow pace. Donnie knew children were supposed to have a faster heartbeat than adults. It bothered him that Junior’s always drudged along like his heart couldn’t handle its job. Perhaps it was a product of the environment? Maybe the kraang’s habitation of Earth changed the very nature of biology…

Ba-bump… Ba-bump…                    Ba-bump… Ba-bump…

Junior squirmed. “Sorry,” he said, tone sheepish. Donnie wished Junior wouldn’t get so embarrassed about this but he was still a child–a young one, at that–and he never understood why his health came as such a concern to the adults around him. “I’m will, right?”

“Ill,” Donnie corrected. He sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. “I’m not prepared for this,” he whispered to himself before turning to a crestfallen Junior. “You’re not ill, kid.”

“But I’m not healthy.”

Donnie opened his mouth to speak but he found himself at a loss for words. Junior wasn’t… wrong. It bothered Donnie to admit that he didn’t know what ailed the kid that saw the medical bay more than anyone on the regular. Leo tried to figure it out when Junior first joined their team, but he never found anything odd other than the growths that appeared on the x-rays. Thankfully, they were benign which meant they didn’t have to put the poor kid under. On the other hand, it also meant that they had no leads as to why Junior’s heart functioned the way that it did.

Junior often asked Donnie questions. That fact in and of itself never bothered Donnie. It came with the territory. As soon as the kid could hold a conversation, he was bombarded by the child’s natural curiosity. Junior quickly became familiar with certain words everyone used when discussing him: good, bad, hungry, sleepy–the ones they said the most were healthy and ill. Junior didn’t really understand what they meant but he knew it worried his mom.

At night, wedged between his mom and Raph, he pretended to be asleep enough times to hear them speak in hushed tones. It was always about him. Did Donnie find anything during his check-up? Was he eating enough? Why wasn’t he growing like other children his age?

Ba-bump… Ba-bump… Ba-bump… Ba-bump…

“Hey.” Donnie tapped his shoulder once. “Breathe. You’re tensing up.” Donnie went back to his desk and began typing again. “I’ll have to see you again in a day or two. Depends on what April brings home this time. Maybe I can start work on…” He muttered to himself about plans for machinery he could possibly build with scrap metal parts. “Rubber casing could protect a metal conductor from high-amp voltage–”

“Professor Donatello,” Junior called out. “I can’t get down from here.”

Donnie pushed his folding chair away from his computer and stood. “Right. My apologies. I forgot you were tiny.” He made his way to Junior, moving the kid to the ground. “There. Now I will return to my–” A soft whimper stopped him. He looked down to see Junior tearing up and holding his hand in an uncomfortably tight grip. “What’s wrong?”

Junior’s lip wobbled but he didn’t make a sound. His gaze stayed glued to the floor. “Am I going to die?”

The question struck Donnie like a sword to the heart. Where had Junior heard that? Did Raph– No. This was no time to start pointing fingers. Donnie had to think of something to say. Something to pacify Junior. Even though he sucked at talking to kids. Even though he knew Leo could handle this situation better–loathe he was to admit it. Donnie sat on the ground in front of Junior.

“You’re not going to die.”

“How do you know?”

“Because,” Donnie began overconfidently. He paused for dramatic effect. In reality, he was stalling. Junior sniffled, looking up at him with big, watery eyes. “Because we won’t let you.”

“You won’t?”

Donnie placed his hands on Junior’s shoulders, shaking him slightly before pulling away. “Of course, we won’t. Because we’re your family. Look,” he sighed, leaning back. “I’m not good at this,” he gestured between them like the emotions would physically manifest in the air, “but I do know that, like it or not, we all care about you. And when you care about someone, you protect them no matter what. Like my papa did for me.” He rubbed at the nape of his neck, fingers bumping against scars across the top of his shell.

“Your papa?” Junior tilted his head but at least he didn’t look like he was about to start crying. “What’s that?”

“Oh, well. Papa, dad, pops. We all called him something different but he was like Casey. He protected us and loved us just like your mom.”

“My mom is your mom?”

“What?” Donnie shook the surprise off his face. “No. Moms, dads–they’re the same thing. They’re parental figures. Their number one goal is to be there for their children. No matter what. Do you get it?”

“I think I do…” Junior looked up at Donnie. “Thanks, Professor Donatello!” He smiled a big grin that squeezed the turtle’s heart. It was easy to love the kid. He got to his feet and clenched his fists. “I gotta go. Bye!”

And, just like that, he ran out of the medical bay. “Hey! Be careful! You’re gonna– Oh, what’s the use.” Donnie smiled despite his concern. It was nice to see Junior act like a kid. He was a kid. They could only hope to give him something akin to childhood. Donnie sat down at his desk and took out a blueprint.

Junior scrambled through the corridors of the cave, past the food stores and the communal bedroom. He had a mission to complete. He still wasn’t good at running but Leo taught him a few things. He breathed in through his nose, out through his mouth–never mind that the timing wasn’t the best or that he still sounded ragged. Someone came from the entrance. His target.

“Goongala!” Junior exclaimed as he launched himself at the shadowy figure. They had spikes that were easy to latch onto. He used them to climb onto the person’s shoulders but a big hand grabbed him by the scruff, pulling him forward. He came face to face with Raph. He dangled several feet off the ground but that did little to dampen his spirit.

“What’s gotten into you, Junior?” Raph chuckled, tucking the kid against his side. No matter how big he got, Raph would always carry Junior around like a baby.

“Dad!” Junior shouted, his voice bouncing off the walls. “Dad! Daddy!”

Raph blanched. “Where did you hear that word? Wait, no. Doesn’t matter. Why are you calling me that?”

“Because you’re my dad!” Junior said it like that was supposed to answer all of the questions spiraling in Raph’s head. He grunted, getting out of Raph’s lax grip to climb the turtle’s arm until he sat gloriously atop his father’s shoulders. He grabbed the red tails and yanked on them. “Professor Donatello said dads care about their kids like my mom does with me. You tell me that you love me all the time. You’re my dad.”

Raph could practically hear the grin in Junior’s tone and, while this should’ve been an exciting moment for him, Raph only felt a great sense of dread. He tried to hush Junior but the kid only pushed at his hand and shushed him back. “Please, Junior. Listen to me–your mom is gonna kill me if she finds out.”

“If I find out what?” Casey’s voice came like a bullet, piercing Raph with deadly accuracy.

Junior, completely ignorant to Raph’s plight, leaned forward, shoving Raph’s head down like he was bowing. Knowing his best friend, he might as well have been. “Mom! Raph is my dad!”

“Oh?” A grin slowly grew on her face. It was sly and reminded Raph of when he first found out that he should never, ever take the last piece of jerky from Casey. She walked over to him, taking Junior from Raph’s shoulders. She tickled his belly, getting a good giggle from him before holding him under her arm like a sack of potatoes. “Is he now?” She leaned into Raph’s space and, despite being two feet shorter than him, made his knees tremble in fear.

“Case, I’m sorry. I– I don’t know why he’s calling me that.”

“Because you’re my dad!”

“Not now, Junior,” Raph hissed. It wasn’t out of anger. Raph never got mad at Junior, but this was a matter of life or death.

Casey held a hand in front of his face, effectively silencing him. “You heard the kid, Raph.” She dropped her hand so he could see her maniacal grin. “Junior said you’re his dad.” She held Junior out. “Get him.”

Raph froze for a second before his body moved for him. He fell into a sprint about as gracefully as a greased-up hog out of a canteen. Behind him, he heard the unfathomable screech of a five-year-old.

“GOONGALA!”

A grand jury in Jefferson Circuit Court, Kentucky investigated the shooting of Breonna Taylor in Louisville on March 13, 2020.  One of the grand jurors has asked the court to release grand jurors from their oath of secrecy and to release the transcripts and recordings of grand jury proceedings in the Taylor investigation.

Kentucky’s constitution says

A grand jury shall consist of twelve persons, nine of whom concurring, may find an indictment. *** But where a verdict is rendered by a less number than the whole jury, it shall be signed by all the jurors who agree to it. KY Const § 248

So even if three jurors dissented from an indictment, it would not change the outcome.  If eight jurors voted to indict, but four did not, there would be no indictment.  

An indictment is often called a “true bill.”  When the grand jury votes not to indict, it’s called a “no true bill.”

Another group begging for eternal hell fire

Connecticut list brokerage firm Macromark Inc. pleaded guilty on Friday to knowingly providing lists of potential victims to fraudulent mass-mailing schemes, the Department of Justice announced.  The fraudulent schemes tricked consumers into paying fees for falsely promised cash prizes and purportedly personalized “psychic” services.  Thousands of consumers lost millions of dollars to the schemes.  ***

The information alleges that Macromark provided list-brokerage services for more than 11 years to clients who were running mass-mailing fraud schemes.  Macromark specifically helped fraudulent mass mailers both acquire lists of potential victims to defraud and sell their lists of victims to other mass mailers.  Macromark executives and employees engaged in this conduct despite knowing that their clients were mailing hundreds of thousands of deceptive prize notifications that misled victims into believing that they would receive a cash prize or personalized services upon payment of a fee.  The potential-victim lists that Macromark brokered were essential to its fraudulent mass-mailer clients, allowing them to more effectively reach consumers who were susceptible to their schemes.  Many victims who lost money to the schemes were elderly and vulnerable.  In pleading guilty, Macromark admitted that the lists it provided to fraudulent clients resulted in losses to victims of at least $9,500,000.*** https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/list-brokerage-firm-pleads-guilty-facilitating-elder-fraud-schemes

If you suffocate a baby, she stops crying

***Angel Vanduker, 19, of Pekin was charged with involuntary manslaughter of a family member in Tazewell County court Monday.

Documentation from the court shows Pekin Police were called to a Pekin home on Monday, September 21 where they found an 11-month old Nova Tucker unresponsive. She was transported to UnityPoint Pekin Hospital and then to OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria where authorities say she was placed on life support. She died three days later.

Police say Vanduker originally told them the child choked on a waffle. Medical personnel say they did not find any food or other obstructions in the airway. The document says Vanduker then gave police inconsistent statements before telling an officer she was tired and attempted to get the child to lay down with her on the couch. Meg’s Ultimate Beauty and the Beast Fic Rec List

so, you all are probably going to think i’m exaggerating (and be horrified when you discover i’m actually not and probably decide that i’m weird af) but over the years i have pretty much read every Beauty and the Beast fic on fanfiction.net. YES, i know, that’s Extra to the point that it can’t even pass off as being cute or quirky anymore, but it’s true. i started in 2013, though, in my defense, and just kind of read every single night when i’d finished my homework all throughout high school. ANYWAY, because of this, i know a lot of good fics that some of you guys may not remember reading or may have not seen bc they were written in 2008 or something crazy like that. so, here’s my recommendations for BATB fics!! these will mostly be Belle/Beast and Belle/Adam, but other stuff might be in there. a lot of these will be based on the 1991 film since obviously there’s a lot more fic in that, but i’ll probably sneak in some recent stuff i’ve read that i really like either from fanfiction.net or Archive of Our Own. i’ll add comments to the ones i specifically remember reading and am able to elaborate on my thoughts, but otherwise i’m just pulling stuff out of my favorites (i only favorite a fic if i really really like it.) here we go!! 

Multi-Chapter Fics 

A Change in Me by disneylove89  Description: Belle is saved from the wolves by the Beast, but is injured and becomes ill as a result. Because of this, though, Belle is unknowingly able to find the chink in the Beast's hard heart and begin their odd relationship. A larger look at Belle and the Beast's lives with expanded movie scenes and original chapters beginning from just after the wolf chase and past the movie's end. My comments: this is one fic I specifically remember reading my freshman year of high school. I *loved* it. It basically gave a bit more depth to Belle and Beast’s friendship and allowed that friendship to transcend into love a lot more naturally. I’ll probably be re-reading this one tonight, since I don’t think I’ve re-read it in a couple of years! 

A Prince in Disguise by The Green Archer  Description: The Beast gets a reprieve on his curse, but will he find out if Belle truly loved him? Meanwhile, Gaston will do anything to make Belle his wife. Alternate ending to the movie. My comments: If I remember correctly, the author said she got the idea for this from The Princess Bride. Anyway, this is another one I loved when I first fell in love with BATB. It’s got the perfect amount of heartache and pining (yes, I am quoting the Beast) and she captured Adam’s character perfectly. 

After They Stopped Dancing by lebardetriste Description: This is a creation for my inner child, who always wondered what happened to Belle and her prince after they stopped dancing. I did my best to honor the character development already established by the movie. To me, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is one of THE great love stories. This a direct continuation of the story, picking up just moments after the movie ends. My comments: Guys, I think this may be the first BATB fic I ever read. I’m not sure. It’s definitely one of the first few, and I remember loving it so much. 

All Men Are Afraid of Dying by LadyBaelish1127 Description: "I just wish you would let me help you find yourself again," Belle murmured. - Belle is adjusting to life in the rejuvenated castle. Prince Adam is learning what it means to be human again. Novel-length, based on 2017 film. My comments: This was one of the first multi-chapter fics to come out of the 2017 movie, the first chapter was posted on the day the movie officially premiered in theatres. She really captured 2017 Adam’s character perfectly, especially considering she was probably just going off of seeing the movie once! There was barely any meta or headcanons on 2017 Adam at the time, so to me it’s mind-blowing how well she wrote him. There’s an amazing plot twist about halfway through the fic that I wasn’t expecting at all, which was great. Also, this is super smutty, and I’m here for it. 

Mirrors by @greensearcher​ Description: Everyone knows the Beast was selfish and unkind—which, of course, is exactly what a jealous enchantress would want the world to think. A retelling in which young Adam was an innocent victim caught up in his father's past mistakes, and Belle a willing presence seeking to repay her own father's debt. And with a vengeful witch on the loose, Gaston is the least of their worries. My comments: WOAH, MY FRIENDS. THIS FIC IS AMAZING, PLEASE READ IT. As the description would suggest, this fic is basically what Adam and Belle’s friendship and love story would’ve been like if Adam hadn’t been such an apocalyptic fuckhat in the beginning. (Sorry, bby, but you know it’s true.) I love the idea of Adam actually being really kind and good (which we all know he is deep down, but I mean like in his behavior as well) and that’s actually how the Prince is in the original Beauty and the Beast, which I always loved about La Belle et La Bete.

The Beast Prince by onceuponanobsessedfan Description: With an obsessive love for the prince, the Enchantress places a unique curse on him--beast by day, human by night. In order for the curse to break, he must marry the Enchantress or remain locked away in his castle for eternity. If anyone sees his true form, he will be lost forever to a woman he will never love. My comments: This is a different twist on the story we’re used to, and I love it. I especially love Belle and Beast’s relationship in this. 

I Will Be With You For Evermore by ImagineATale  Description: Alternative ending based on 2017 remake. What if Belle decides she wants to return to the castle after rescuing her father? And what if she leaves the mirror with the Beast? My comments: This is incredibly depressing, and I’m totally here for it. Also, it’s not completed yet, but it’s totally worth reading anyway. 

Behind a Fair Façade by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Belle and Adam are college roommates whose dislike soon melts into friendship - and maybe more. But Adam has a reason beyond Belle's smile for pursuing her love, to do with his parents tragic death ten years ago. And Belle has her own motives for choosing a college over a hundred miles from her beloved father. Can their friends get them to fall in love? Complete, 3 bonus chapters. My comments: I’ve been reading @theteaisaddictive‘s stuff for years now, and I always love everything she writes. This is one of the modern AU’s I’ve really liked where I felt like the characters still seemed like themselves in a modern setting. 

A Rose’s Thorn by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Because a prince insulted a witch, he was cursed. Because a girl fell in love, the spell was broken. But when a merchant chooses to trust his horse, the prince risks never breaking his enchantment. And the merchant's daughter will be trapped in marriage with a man she doesn't love. Can they find each other, even with all the changes to this tale as old as time? Movieverse AU. My comments: Another great fic by @theteaisaddictive. It’s not complete yet, though, you’ve been warned. 

Kissed by a Rose by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Mature content Beauty and the Beast. Belle comes to the castle burdened by an unspeakable secret and a deeply wounded spirit. The Beast carries betrayal in his own past. Can they still learn to love, and to trust, one another? Complete! My comments: First of all, can I just say, SamoaPhoenix9 has literally been in the BATB fandom forever. Like, I remember seeing authors thanking them for their comments on fics from 2012. They definitely get some credit for that alone, since reading/writing about BATB for that long will definitely allow you to really understand the characters. As for this fic, I haven’t read it in a year or so, but I do know that I loved it. 

My Heart Will Go On by Charlie’sLostVampire  Description: Engaged to be married to a woman who he does not love - a match enforced by his money grubbing father - the poised young aristocrat, Adam, is utterly miserable. On his first night aboard the RMS Titanic, he debates pitching himself over the edge of the ship and into the icy waters below, never to be seen or paraded around ever again. And then he meets Belle. My comments: It’s a Titanic AU, what more can I say? Yes, I know, this only has three chapters thus far, don’t fight me. I’m just as desperate for more as you are. 

Beauty and the Beast: The Tale Continues by CJ Ambrose Description: With the curse broken, Belle and Prince Adam start to enjoy their new life together, and remaining happy for evermore. Takes place during and after the ending of the 2017 live-action film. Please review! Some OOC moments. My comments: Another one of the first fics to come out of the movie. As they mentioned in the description, some moments are a bit out of character, but overall I’m into it. I definitely have this set for email notifications, and they update pretty often, so it’s always something to look forward to. 

Love Will Save Your Soul by Hammyham9 Description: After the curse is lifted, Adam and Belle are getting used to life together, hopefully with a semblance of self-restraint.  Après L'Enchantement by The Green Searcher Description: Becoming a prince again was just the beginning. Post-movie fluff. My comments: This is another one of the first BATB fics I read. I’ll have to re-read it, since it’s been a while, but I remember being in love with it. 

Love Changes Things by JonniLyne Description: What if the Beast hadn't forced Belle to stay? What if it was her choice? What if she stayed to escape her own tragic fate? My spin on the classic story. 

Tune As Old As Song by So-Crates Johnson Description: Modern/AU: Belle, a writer for a local newspaper, is helping a friend with a story when she meets Adam, a guitarist for a popular local metal band. As she gets to know him, she realizes that they have more in common than their seemingly different interests would suggest. My comments: Another good modern AU. In this one, Adam is a musician, which my former Band Slut self was very into in 2013. Also, Belle is a journalist in this one, which my current journalism major self is very into. 

Song as Old as Rhyme by So-Crates Johnson Description: A modern retelling following the original storyline, in which most of the main characters are gainfully employed adults. My comments: Basically the same idea as the previous one, except this one more closely follows the plot of the movie. 

Certain as the Sun by disneylove89 Description: Belle and Adam have returned from their honeymoon to begin their lives as husband and wife. They find out quickly though, that nothing is ever as certain as the sun, that there are many things than can change their lives in a single moment. This story follows Adam and Belle as they experience life, with all the joys and the difficulties that come with it. A series of short stories. 

Notre Dame by FoxyBoxy Description: What if Belle used the Portal Book again before she left the castle? And had a midnight stroll with Beast? My comments: This is amazing, that’s really all I can say 

Perchance to Dream by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Based on the 2017 movie, with a twist from the original French story. After coming to the castle, Belle meets someone in her dreams who seems oddly familiar... My comments: As you all know, I love the original Beauty and the Beast stories - both Villeneuve’s and Beaumont’s. So, obviously, I adore this.  As The Long, Long Nights Begin by ladymacbeth99 Description: AU. After the fight with Gaston, Belle is just in time to save the Beast's life-but too late to break the spell. Can they manage to find some happiness anyway? My comments: This is depressing and I love it. 

One-Shot Collections (kind of like a multi-chapter fic but they aren’t all necessarily related. You all know what I mean.)

The Nature Points the Way, So Much Left to Say series by @je-suis-em-jee​  My comments: I actually posted one of these one-shots in the one shot section because it’s my absolute favorite, however these are all amazing. And her smut is amazing. And she’s amazing. Emjee, why you so good. Why.

The Beauty of a Beast by @theteaisaddictive​ My comments: Would you look at that, another thing from @theteaisaddictive. If you can’t tell, I really like her writing. 

Reflections by SamoaPhoenix9  My comments: Some more stuff from SamoaPhoenix9. Again, they really get Beauty and the Beast. I got a lot of perspective into the characters when I first got into BATB by reading their fic.

'There were really no other girls in Villeneuve?'" In which Belle makes a friend and learns more about her fiance. My comments: This is easily my favorite one-shot of all time. It’s incredibly well-written, fluffy and cute and it features Makeup-Wearing Adam, which is one of my favorite Adams. It features lots of different characters, like Plumette and even Maurice. The second chapter is amazing, it’s so fluffy and sweet and if I’m being honest, sometimes when I’m anxious at night and having trouble falling asleep, I just read it and it calms me down enough to drift off. 

When We Touched by A Self-Promoting Attention-Thirsty Hoe, AKA Meg. AKA me. This is my fic. I’m self-promoting my fic. 

Description (which is awful, by the way, I never knew I’d be so bad at writing descriptions): The five times the Beast had human contact for the first time in years, and the one time he had it as a human himself after the curse is broken. Based mostly off the 2017 movie. My comments: Well, my dudes. What do I have to say other than this is my fic, I think it’s somewhat okay, and I hope that you enjoy it.

(Read more on that here and here.) This is what would happen if he found those wheely suckers after the curse was broken.  My comments: this is literally the Heelys fic please read it

All Along by SamoaPhoenix9  Description: The spell has finally been broken. The Beast has some explaining to do, and Belle has a few secrets of her own to get out: she knew about the curse. Postmovie oneshot.  Evermore Reprise by @theresadunn​  Description: A reprise for Evermore sung by Adam to his daughter.  My comments: This made me cry  Evermore (Reprise) by @uncledisney​ Description: One night, Adam finds himself overlooking the castle grounds from the tower, just like the time Belle left him. Only this time, this is his wedding night and Belle is now his wife. My comments: Another reprise for Evermore, except this is just the lyrics. However, it’s still great. 

Changes by TrudiRose Description: One-shot: Belle and her Prince adjust to life after the transformation. My comments: Remember what I said earlier about SamoaPhoenix6 being like, an OG BATB fic writer? THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 2004, AND I STILL SEE TRUDIROSE LURKING IN THE BATB FICS ON FANFICTION.NET. Honestly, to me, TrudiRose is a legend. I say this half-jokingly, but seriously. I remember back in 2013 when I began my mission to read every BATB fic out there, I’d read something from 2012, something from 2010, and something from 2008 and the fic writers were all thanking TrudiRose for their support or doing beta work or whatever. That’s so crazy and cool to me, idk. Anyway, this one-shot is great. 

Two Hearts Become One by disneylove89  Description: This is the story of Belle and Adam's wedding night. Plenty of fluff, but pay attention to the rating, it's there for a reason! My comments: This is some good smut, my dudes. Pretty sure 15 year old Meg learned everything she didn’t know about sex from reading this. So, thanks for the free sex ed, disneylove89. 

One Passion by disneylove89 Description: A sort of sequel to my story "Two Hearts Become One." Adam and Belle are celebrating their one year wedding anniversary in all sorts of lovely, smutty ways. My comments: Once again, smut. Also, I distinctly remember geeking out over the fact that both these smut fics were titled after the Beauty and the Beast (Reprise) from the Broadway musical, as if I was the only one that knew that. 

The Beast Within the Man by ladymacbeth99 Description: One-shot. Even after he's transfigured back to his human form, Belle still recognizes the Beast she grew to love. 

Proof by Amabeth Description: He told Gaston he wasn't a beast, and he proved it. But Belle didn't need any proof. / OR a short drabble about the before and after of the Beast's transformation. Set in the 2017 remake.

Beauty and the Beast: A New Beginning by Prinsesa Isabella Description: (Takes place one and a half year after the BatB 2017 movie) A series of one-shots, dabbles revolving around Adam and Belle as the new monarch rulers King and Queen... and... as the new parents of their first newborn princess. (Based on guiltyhipster and theresadunn's BatB Parenting Headcanons on tumblr) My comments: these are based on those amazing Adelle parenting headcanons and I love them  Well, my friends, that’s all I have to give you for now. However, there’s over 2k fics for Beauty and the Beast on fanfiction.net, so you should definitely scroll back and see what you can find. Hey, RBOM. Something happened. I don't have anyone to talk to at the moment so I'm just going to leave everything here. The last time I felt this way was when we were still living in a small apartment on Athens street. I remember... I ran to the garage, holding my blue netbook as I slumped my self on the concrete ground where CJ was parked, condoling my self of what has got to be my worst emotional breakdown ever. The tears won't stop falling from my eyes then. I felt helpless—at the same time, alone. If I were to describe what it was, sorrow would have to be the word. Sorrow. Never have I ever imagined my whole life that I will experience such a tragic emotion. Sorrow. Not sadness, not misery, but sorrow. My heart felt so heavy as if all the tears came from there. I was heartsick. I was bursting out heavy tears, slumped on the ground, hiding behind our family car that was my only companion that time. That was the place where I wrote my first emotions-heavy note. I didn't know why I decided to do that. It's just that I felt it best to escape from the heaviness of my emotions with the use of my netbook. So, I typed my emotions away. It was effective. By the time I was almost done, I felt lighter and better. I am used to comforting my self whenever I cried. It has always been that way. I guess I grew up emotionally independent. I also rarely cry. I was lucky if I cried twice in a year. I always had control over my emotions. I always had to be the understanding one whenever someone was in a bad mood or when a person was too mad to even listen to my explanation. I guess that's why I'm strong. Going back to my story, as I was heaving, struggling to keep up to the beat of my breathing, I saw my dad approaching me; his steps heavy as ever and his smile warm. "Akari, nande naiteru? Ahh-ah, doshite? Mama ka na? Nesan ka na? Dare?" he asked, as if he was still talking to the three-year-old Akari. I remember smiling then, finding comfort in the presence of my father. It has always been that way. He was my kakampi as I was his. We were partners in crime. However, I found my self crying again as I examined him. He was really getting old then. "Kapag wala na si Papa, wala na akong kakampi," I realized. And so, I cried again. My dad was gone when it was my mom who approached. "Intindihin mo na lang ate mo. Ikaw kasi ang mas nakakaintindi palagi. Alam mo naman 'yun, mahina ang loob at mabilis umiyak at mainis." That was also the most courageous I've been; it was the first time I spoke my mind and heart out, doing the best I could to explain my self to my mom. "Hindi niyo kasi ako naiintindihan. Wala namang nakakaintindi sa akin," I cried. "Naiintindihan kita, anak. Maniwala ka, kahit parang hindi ganon, naiintindihan kita," she said. I still tried to explain but my words betrayed me. One again, I had to be the one to adjust and understand. And yes, I understood. I just slept, irritated that my words have not reached them. I think that was also the start of me losing my ability to find the right words to write and speak my mind out. I always always did my best to write and talk but my words seemed weak. Yeah, I think that was the beginning of my messed up thinking. Since then, my mind has become clouded. Like, I always tried my best to think but nothing came out right. Going back to the present, yes, I feel nostalgic now. It has been more or less 5 years since I felt this way. what triggered it? A VERY PETTY ISSUE. Well, I was playing ML and Nesan and Madir kept telling me to shower because it's already 8:30 in the evening. I kept ignoring them because I was enjoying my game. Later, a Facebook notification popped up. Nesan posted on my wall. On her post, she said how I should be showering instead of playing ML. "Ewan ko na lang kung hindi ka pa maligo." Then she attached two photos of me, unaware, as I was playing. Now, you know how I don't care about how I look like in photos, I have tons of wacky photos uploaded and tagged on Facebook. Some are even from her. But, let me tell you. Something about those two photos made me feel uncomfortable. I was lying down, okay. But my skirt was almost riding up my thighs. Then my inner thighs can be seen na, e those are dark from friction. So I asked her gently why she uploaded. I was offended. But I never raised my voice nor did I show a hint of disrespect and anger. I asked with overflowing concern "hala... Grabe ka naman, Nesan... Bakit mo naman inupload 'yun" then she suddenly got angry, telling me how stupid I was for thinking that she'd do that without thinking of the consequences. "HALA! alangan namang mag-post ako ng photo mo na alam kong mapapahiya ka. Siyempre mapapahiya rin naman ako kasi kapatid kita." But I still told her that I felt uncomfortable, specially that lots of people have been reacting and commenting how they found the post funny. And then Madir went out from her room, looking at the photos and then telling me that nothing was wrong with the photos. She tried to assure me that those were just shadows on my thigh. But I know my body. As proud as I am of my body, I still didn't want those photos uploaded. I think Nesan got surprised because this would be the first time ever that I'll ask her to take down stolen photos of me. But she was really angry at me and did not stop hurting me with her words. I told the two of them that I want them to know that what Nesan did was wrong. Also, it's unfair because I have lots of unaploaded and deleted photos just because Nesan was insecure about her face so I was the one who always adjusted. She got madder. And in the end, I calmly told the two of them to stop talking to me because I don't want to say hurtful words. And also that it was always the two of them against me. It was not their fault, but mine. I always tried to explain but I always end up hurting them because I always let go of the wrong words. Deep inside, I was really wounded because of Nesan's words, because it's the two of them against me, because I was alone again, because they don't know the real me, because they invalidated my feelings, because I was not allowed to be the one hurting this time around, because I was still lost for the right words and because no one listened. To tell you a secret, one of the reasons why I chose Journalism was because no one ever listens to me. Not even my family—well, they would, for a time, but not long enough or not enough at all. They hear me, but they don't listen. Yep. One of the (selfish) reasons why I chose Journalism was because I wanted my voice to be heard. Anyway, the emotions are gone now. I wrote most of it away hahahhaahhahahahahahahahahaha! Yay, me!!!
