Cyberpunk 2077 was a cautionary tale of bad management, tired open-world design cliches and unregulated crunch leading to an absolute disaster of a release. I remind you: the game was so bad that shortly after release, Sony removed it from the store and offered refunds. Everyone agreed that it was an absolute shit game, an emblematic instance of how bad the game industry had gotten.
And then a half decent anime happened and the conversation changed overnight.
Suddenly people were saying Cyberpunk was great, that it was underrated, that everyone should play it again. The switch-up was instant, and shallow. People were back to giving CD Projekt Red their money, despite their continuing bad business practices, all because a spin-off made them think happy thoughts about the brand.
So no, not a fan.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 the greatest comeback in gaming?
With Cyberpunk coming off of one of the worst launches in recent history. Now, on the precipice of its bright and shiny 2.0 update, it has people asking... Is Cyberpunk the greatest comeback in gaming history? Let's take a look at it!
The game on launch in 2020 was riddled with game breaking bugs, terrible computer AI, it didn't even work on Playstation 4 and Xbox ones leading to mass refunds on the respective platforms, vehicles felt floaty as you were driving down the road and even if you were going 100mph it still only felt like you were going 20mph.
There were hundreds of exploits, free money glitches, armor glitches, and in my own personal experience, I had a level 1 revolver that did fifteen thousand damage. The "net running" felt like a waste of time, and it felt extremely underutilized, especially when considered the game constantly reminds you of net running and the power it actually has.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would have ever said that this game (when running properly) looks bad. The game looks incredible, and the writing and voice acting are incredible it was everything else that was the problem.
Since launch, there's been a litany of updates to the game play. From bug fixes to the great community support of modders and adding in apparel from the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. That show, in my opinion, single handedly changed the public perception of the game with its introspective writing and absolutely stunning visual design. Your heart gets smashed into atoms by the end of the series. It gave consumers of the game the idea of what this game COULD have been.
Now, with the free "Update 2.0" along with the subsequent release of the paid for Phantom Liberty expansion, has CD Projekt Red done enough to actually warrant more money from the consumers? In my opinion, no.
The huge disappointment of its release, the fact they had to provide refunds, the fact it was taken off of the Playstation store and Xbox stores has to mean something. Some sort of recompense must be made.
It's been reported that some of the updates they made were ripped directly off of Nexus Mods without modders permission. It's also been said that this might be the only expansion we get. I understand they have worked on the game. I understand that they've added in a bunch. But I don't think that deserves the high praise of "Greatest Gaming Comeback." That will for the time being belong to No Mans Sky.
If we look at other games that have launched in a broken or terrible state, they release free expansions, provide free gameplay updates, (looking at you No Mans Sky) or in some cases, just completely abandon the project altogether. (Looking at you, Anthem).
All of the updates, including the upcoming expansion, should have been IN the game at launch. Yes, we should thank them for sticking with the game. But it really has been years at this point, and just now is when we are finally getting our hands on new content and a game play overhaul once again, something that should've been done in the first six months to a year this should be free. But I guess getting Idris Albas voice and likeness has a pretty hefty cost to it.

☢️ It's Patch Day and the Happy At Home fiasco is finally resolved, with a catch. - A short rant that I'll expand later if necessary. I need to update my mods.
TL;DR: As expected, EAxis managed to !@#$ up even this and I'm still using my FOMO Unlock mod. You can keep it or remove it, it's up to you. Happy At Home is unlocked, it's just not unlocked properly.
The catch is that instead of removing the lock code to truly unlock the items, the way I did in my FOMO Unlock, they instead... did some other !@#$. I think they added the entitlement data to our account data, the way Reaper's entitlement data is added to our account data.
Why is this an issue? Well, I'ma tell it to ya'!
Happy At Home has always had an additional problem. The reason I made the FOMO Unlock was because the INI modification never worked 100%. Something has always been missing, and that something results in the Happy At Home CAS items constantly regaining the NEW CONTENT gold badge. You just have to switch categories in CAS to see it pop back up again and again and again and again, ad infinitum.
This is a MINOR issue, very, very MINOR, but it's an issue, an unnecessary issue, and whatever neurodivergence I have makes it an irritating issue. It's an irritating issue because I know it's an unnecessary issue. I know that if EAxis did what I did to FOMO Unlock Happy At Home- heavy sigh.
Barring them somehow removing the entitlements from our account data, this is the last time I will rant about Happy At Home.

Is it narcissism?
I know I have narcissistic tendencies - I was "raised by" a toxic narcissist, but I'm not talking about me.
Almost a year after the Always-Online Sim City (2013) scandal of lies and bullshittery, EAxis released an offline patch, framing it as a gift to the community, as though they hadn't pathologically lied up to and after the release of Sim City (2013) about Always-Online being a core concept of the game that the game simply couldn't work without. Always-Online is what killed the Sim City franchise, because EA, despite being an estimated $37.9 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, refuses to invest in proper servers. Folks don't really understand or accept that The Sims 4 (2014) suffers from server woes but it does and it's why going offline in App and game is a form of troubleshooting. It's why the idea of a future Sims game having "Online features" terrifies me.
More recently, CD Projekt Red lied about the state and features of Cyberpunk 2077, released it before it was ready, and since then have proceeded to gaslight anyone who criticized the state of the game or them for their pathological lying.
"We changed how Event rewards are stored with our September 18 update. After this change, we learned that some Simmers are missing rewards they earned through the Happy At Home Event we ran earlier this year." - THE BUG REPORT IS THREE MONTHS OLD. I WAS PRESENT AND INVOLVED. WERE THEY NOT INVOLVED? IS ANSWERS HQ JUST A WATERING HOLE THEY STOP BY ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS?
"The addition of the Happy At Home Event rewards with today’s update are a one-time make good to thank you for your patience as we continue to work on, and improve, Events in The Sims 4." - IT'S ALMOST AS THOUGH EA ISN'T A 42 YEAR-OLD COMPANY SPECIALIZING IN GAME DE- WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, ARE WE PRETENDING WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE THREE MONTH OLD BUG REPORT OR ARE WE ADMITTING WE KNEW AND JUST DID NOT A FUCK?
Should I explain to the people how easy it is to unlock these FOMO rewards, because it doesn't require entitlement data and it certainly doesn't require THREE MONTHS of "improvements" and- by "patience" do they mean stating the event is over and there's nothing to be done, or removing all actual solutions, temporarily banning simmers for helping other simmers and calling it disruptive spam, telling me they believe "Gaming is for everyone.™" while- y'know, they could've just said, "we're working on improving future events and making them account-bound and we will unlock Happy At Home for everyone in a future patch, please bear with us." It ain't that !@#$in' hard, but it would've required them acknowledging they !@#$ed up.

A CD Projekt RED compartilhou como pretende evitar os erros cometidos no lançamento de Cyberpunk 2077 para cuidar bem de The Witcher 4. Dessa vez, a ordem é uma só: deixar os desenvolvedores “cozinharem”.
Por problemas nos consoles e falhas técnicas graves na sua estreia, Cyberpunk 2077 foi retirado da PS Store. Desde então, a CDPR trabalhou para melhorar o jogo e reconquistar a confiança dos jogadores, metas que muitos acreditam terem sido alcançadas pela desenvolvedora.
Com The Witcher 4 anunciado, a CD Projekt procurou garantir que não repetiria os erros do passado. Em entrevista ao IGN, os produtores Małgorzata Mitręga e Sebastian Kalemba destacaram mudanças significativas no processo de produção do novo título para evitar surpresas desagradáveis.
“Ok, então, antes de tudo, deixe-os cozinhar”, declarou Kalemba.
Em segundo lugar, a maneira como produzimos agora também mudou de um jeito muito bom, o que significa que estamos definindo muito conscientemente os estágios da produção. Estamos tentando muito conscientemente delimitar isso, certificando-nos de que a base esteja lá.

Se a informado que Xbox en recientes horas consiguieron una nueva e inesperada colaboración con una empresa que hasta hace algunos años era una fiel desarrolladora de PlayStation: La icónica creadora de RPG’s, JRPG’s, pero sobre todo de la franquicia Final Fantasy, Square Enix. Esta nueva y fructuosa colaboración consiste en llevar algunos juegos la empresa a XCloud también conocida como la “Nube”. Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, and based on Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk tabletop game series. The plot is set in the fictional metropolis of Night City, California, within the dystopian Cyberpunk universe.
What is the story of Cyberpunk 2077?
In 2077, local fixer Dexter "Dex" DeShawn hires V and Jackie to steal a biochip known as "the Relic" from Arasaka Corporation. They acquire the Relic, but the plan goes awry when they witness the murder of the megacorp's leader Saburo Arasaka at the hands of his treacherous son Yorinobu. Yorinobu. Yorinobu covers up the murder as poisoning and triggers a security sweep in which Arasaka's netrunners kill T-Bug. V and Jackie escape, but Jackie is fatally wounded in the process, and the Relic's protective case is damaged, forcing V to insert the biochip into the cyberware in their head.
Furious at the unwanted police attention, Dex shoots V in the head and leaves them for dead in a landfill. Upon awakening, V is haunted by the digital ghost of war veteran turned iconic rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand, believed to have died in 2023 during his own thermonuclear attack on Arasaka Tower. V learns from their ripperdoc Viktor Vector that Dex's bullet triggered resurrection nanotech on the biochip, repairing the damage to V's brain but starting an irreversible process that would overwrite V's memories with those of Johnny, whose memory engram is stored on the chip, leaving V only a few weeks before the process completes. The biochip cannot be removed without instantly killing V, so V must find a way to remove Johnny and survive.
Through reliving Johnny's memories, V learns that in 2013, Johnny's then-girlfriend Alt Cunningham had created Soulkiller, an artificial intelligence able to copy netrunners' minds through their neural links. However, the process destroyed the target's brain. Arasaka kidnapped Alt and forced her to create their own version of Soulkiller, which would store the minds of its targets in Arasaka's digital fortress, Mikoshi. Johnny led a rescue effort to save Alt, but failed to find her before Arasaka used Soulkiller on her; Johnny's later thermonuclear attack was a cover to free Alt's consciousness from Arasaka's subnet, but Arasaka's head of security Adam Smasher captured him and used Soulkiller on him as well.
By 2077, Arasaka was advertising a "Secure Your Soul" program and conducting secret research into writing a digital copy of a mind into a living human brain, from which the Relic arose. Eventually, V must decide whether to mount an attack on Arasaka Tower to gain physical access to Mikoshi and use Soulkiller to remove Johnny from their body, or to make a deal with Yorinobu's sister, Hanako Arasaka, to extract the Relic.
If V chooses to attack Arasaka Tower, depending upon player actions throughout the game, V can choose different options to conduct the attack. V can allow Johnny to take over and stage the attack with his former crew, suppress Johnny and mount the attack with their nomad allies from the Aldecaldos clan, mount the attack solo, or simply commit suicide. If V chooses to make a deal with Hanako instead, they convince the Arasaka board that Yorinobu killed Saburo, and oust Yorinobu as CEO. Hanako honors her deal with V and has Arasaka doctors extract the Relic from V. In all cases, it is revealed that the damage to V's body is irreversible. Depending on player choice, V either requests Arasaka upload them into Mikoshi until a suitable host body is found, remains in their body with an uncertain life expectancy, or allows Johnny to take over permanently. If V assaults Arasaka and chooses to remain in their body, they either become a Night City legend, or leave Night City with the Aldecaldos clan hoping to find a way to prolong their lifespan. If V surrenders their body to Johnny, the latter pays his respects to his friends and leaves Night City to start a new life.
What is the main idea of Cyberpunk 2077?

CD Projekt Red has shared a new trailer for the next DLC of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, which will be launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC through Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store on September 26, 2023. Also confirmed the following: "Some of these characteristics will also be added to the base game, as part of the 2.0 update, which will be available on the latest generation and PC consoles!" Is it nova choom?
"Is it nova choom" also translates to "is it awesome mate?" As the name suggests Cyberpunk 2077 has a unique and jazzy lingo within the game making it CD Projeckt Red's most promising release. However the game was announced in 2013 as a revolutionary and groundbreaking open-world adventure. People were kept waiting in anticipation as the PR teams let loose tidbits of information here and there. After being released almost 7 years later on 16th of April 2020, gamers around the world couldn't wait to get their hands on a copy of the game. Well who wouldn't have thought about it, the hype around the release was sensational. They even have a character known as Johnny Silverhand who was voiced and modeled after the revered actor Keanu Reeves. The game in itself was very well thought out with players heralding the success of the game, then came the bugs.
Players felt hopeless as their games would be ridden with bugs and glitches, often more than not game breaking. Forcing the majority of players to wipe their progress completely in order to have a shot to get further than they last did. The public response was initially dismay which ramped up to unbridled rage and public outcries. The reviews on apps like Steam and Epic Games were colorful to say the least, and chock full of criticism and insults. The public was especially enraged at CD Projekt Red after the developers owned up and accepted that the game was not ready to be released to the public. Gamers were disgusted at the studio as they understood it to be some form of a money grab in order to turn out profits and then abandon the game.
The development of such an ambitious title would understandably take time, it was of no help when people started sending the developers death threats after delays from the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 which went up to 7 years and even then delivered an unfinished and literally unplayable title. Even Sony pulled the game from its stores and shelves and gave people who bought it a full refund. The studio had no other option but pull the games as well from other distributors and put it back into development. After another two years in 2022 they patched and put the game back into rotation. This release fixed the majority of the issues that were caused by the first release and also brought in more features than the previous one. This thoughtful albeit expensive decision taken by CD Projeckt Red was well received by the public and the studio which was quite reputed due to the back to back successes of The Witcher series somewhat gained its reputation back. But then again what if it was all a ploy by the studio? To get the people dissappointed at first and them win them over? Guess we'll never know.
