Rhea Ripley made a return to singles action on the red brand of WWE for the first time in nearly a year and ran through Raquel Rodriguez in an anything goes match as part of the main event on "WWE Raw." High-stakes chaos, surprise interferences, and jaw-dropping moments had fans talking about the matchup as Ripley's peer, the number one contender for the Women's World Championship, made things go her way. It opened up with an explosive confrontation between the time that Ripley arrived and the surprise attack of Rodriguez. Rodriguez charged up the ramp rather than heading to the ring; she attacked Ripley, sending out a signal that this would be an intense brawl. They moved into the crowd, so commentators reminded the audience that the pinfalls and submissions need to occur in the ring. By the time they returned to the squared circle, the chaos was already at a fever pitch, as Ripley had filled the ring with an arsenal of weapons during a commercial break. John Manard, CC BY-SA 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0, via Wikimedia Commons At one point, Rodriguez tried to take the carnage to a new level by pulling a table from under the ring. But Ripley had other plans and sent her flying over the announce desk. Back in the ring, Rodriguez tried to slam Ripley onto a steel chair, but this moment of potential victory was interrupted by Liv Morgan. Morgan's involvement added another layer of unpredictability. As Ripley attempted her signature Rip Tide maneuver, Morgan jumped into the fray literally, leaping onto Ripley's back. Morgan capitalized on the opportunity and performed her signature Oblivion, which temporarily brought Ripley to a halt. Still, the mayhem was not over. SKY enters to deliver a missile dropkick to Morgan and follows that up with a breathtaking suicide dive that sends the reigning Women's World Champion flying out of the ring. Rodriguez, regaining her composure, set up a table inside the ring, signaling her intent to deliver a decisive blow. But Ripley capitalized on the moment, delivering a brutal Rip Tide that sent Rodriguez crashing through the table. With Rodriguez incapacitated, Ripley secured the three-count, marking a hard-fought and dramatic victory. The show ended with a tense stare-down between Ripley and SKY. Both women held the Women's World Title high, a clear signal of the brewing rivalry and the high stakes awaiting them in the championship scene. This electrifying main event showcased the unbelievable athleticism, grit, and brains that define WWE's women's division. The involvement of Liv Morgan and SKY added intrigue and underscored the unpredictable nature of the sport, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in these unfolding storylines. Mulerider Softball Reloaded as Fall Practice Gets Underway
Source: https://muleriderathletics.com/news/2021/9/28/mulerider-softball-reloaded-as-fall-practice-gets-underway.aspx
MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Nationally-prominent Southern Arkansas Softball's 2022 National Championship quest has begun as fall practice opened up for eighth-year head coach Jason Anderson's Muleriders which reloaded with some of the country's top talent. It is a new look squad for Anderson who has led the program to its most successful run to date which includes back-to-back-to-back Great American Conference regular season titles, five-straight trips to the NCAA Central Region Tournament and a pair of World Series appearances which saw SAU finish in the top four nationally both times. Despite the newness of roster, the program's goals remain the same: chasing that elusive national championship. Seven junior college transfers and six four-year transfers, including four from the Division I ranks, make up the newest crop of talent that has been re-harvested in Magnolia. "I am so excited about these transfers we were able to bring in to add to our great group of early signees and returners," noted Anderson. "This group has been working together since we got back this fall, and as we have now moved into team practice I am really seeing what a special group we have." Sabrina Anguiano Riverside, Calif. | SS/UT | Rogers State University >>> Anguiano joins Anderson's squad after playing in 46 games for MIAA-foe Rogers State which won 34 games and advanced to the league's tournament title game. This past season, Anguiano recorded 37 hits, five doubles and four homeruns, while scoring 27 runs. Defensively, she recorded 66 assists and 56 putouts. The California native was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week on May 4 and was a member of the MIAA Softball Honor Roll. Brianna Everett Paragould, Ark. | C/UT | Three Rivers College >>> Everett, who earned first team All-MCCAC and first team all-region honors at Three Rivers College, hit .429 and slugged .776 in 50 games for the Raiders this past spring. The Arkansas native hit 16 home runs and 11 doubles, totaled 74 RBI and scored 39 runs. Defensively, Everett recorded 87 putouts and 37 assists. Uchenna Jong Loy Amsterdam, Netherlands | IF | Bossier Parish CC >>> The 2021 NJCAA Region XIV Player of the Year, Jong Loy brings a lot of power to Magnolia. An All-Louisiana Collegiate Softball Team selection this past spring, the Amsterdam native hit .521 with 27 home runs and 84 RBI as she helped lead BPCC to a 45-7 record overall and a deep run in the Region IV East Tournament. Dylann Kaderka Keller, Texas | RHP | Grayson College >>> Behind an NJCAA-leading 31 wins, Dylann Kaderka earned NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Year honors as well as 2021 NJCAA Softball World Series Most Outstanding Pitcher recognition following the spring campaign at Grayson College. Kaderka fanned 212 batters and generated a 2.28 ERA in 202.0 innings pitched. She received All-America First-Team honors from both the NJCAA and NFCA, was an all-region and all-conference performer in addition to be named the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Year. Gracie King Winnsboro, La. | INF | LSU-Eunice >>> King comes to Magnolia after two years at LSU-Eunice. In 2021, she hit .344 with 56 hits, including a dozen home runs to go along with a team-leading 55 RBI. King played in all 56 games making 48 starts and recorded a team-leading 114 total bases. Along with 27 walks and six hit-by-pitch, the run-producing bat orchestrated a 1.151 OPS and helped the Bengals win 34 games last spring. Sara Mayes Lufkin, Texas | C/UT | Angelina College/Trinity Valley CC >>> A two-year player at Angelina College, Mayes made the move to Trinity Valley after AC canceled sports this past spring. A power hitter, Mayes hit .500 with 38 hits including eight home runs and 34 RBI in 25 games for the Cardinals. She struck out just three times in 91 plate appearances and totaled 66 bases with 25 runs scored. In her final year at AC, Mayes helped send the Lady Roadrunners to the NJCAA DI World Series title game with a game-tying two-run home run, one of 11 blasts that season, in AC's 15-13 win over Central Florida. Jade Miller Plano, Texas | OF | Utah Valley >>> Miller transfers to SAU after a year and a half of action at Utah Valley of the Western Athletic Conference. In 61 games for the Wolverines, Miller hit .322 with 59 hits which includes a dozen doubles, three triples and a home run. She scored 34 runs and registered 19 RBI. Miller's previous stops include Arkansas, UDallas where she set the single-season hit record with 61 as a freshman, and Grayson College where she earned NJCAA first-team All-American honors in 2019 after hitting .473 to go along with 13 doubles, 18 home runs, 59 RBIs, 67 runs, and 18 stolen bases. Madison Miller Wichita, Kan. | OF/UT | Texas-Arlington >>> A two-time Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee in the state of Kansas, Miller played for four seasons at UT-Arlington where she was a part of 95 wins including a 36-27 campaign in 2019 that finished with the Mavericks winning the National Invitational Softball Championship. For her career, Miller collected 52 hits which includes seven doubles and seven home runs. Additionally, she recorded 35 RBI and scored 21 runs. Taylor Murphy Sweeny, Texas | 3B/RHP | Lamar >>> A two-time Texas All-State performer in high school, Murphy put in three seasons at Division I Lamar playing in 103 games with 99 starts. She recorded 39 hits, 19 RBI and scored 13 runs. Defensively, she registered 224 putouts with 142 assists. Additionally, she tossed 2.0 in the circle for the Cards this past spring as she made the first two pitching appearances of her collegiate career. Kiana Pogroszewski Ephraim, Utah | RHP | Bossier Parish CC >>> A second-team NJCAA Region XIV East All-Conference selection this past spring, Pogroszewski posted a 17-0 record for BPCC in 22 starts totaling 105.0 innings pitched. She carried a 2.60 ERA as a sophomore and tossed ten complete games with 96 total strikeouts. Baylie Thornhill Baton Rouge, La. | RHP | LSU/Ohio >>> A three-time all-district performer at St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge, Thornhill made stops at South Alabama, LSU and Ohio before landing in Magnolia. The right-hander, in her final year for the Bobcats in 2020, appeared in 14 games with eight starts in the circle where she recorded three complete games, two saves and picked up a win in 55.1 innings pitched. She fanned 36 and allowed only eight hits. Destiny Vasquez Norwalk, Calif. | RHP/UT | Lee University >>> A two-time California Junior College Pitcher of the Year, Vasquez earned All-America honors while at Cypress College in 2017. Two years later, she was named Orange Empire Conference MVP and garnered all-state honors at Fullerton College. Vasquez transferred to Division II Lee University of the Gulf South Conference and in a shortened 2020 season, she won six games, struck out 76 batters, and owned a 2.10 ERA in 70.0 innings pitched. Sydney Ward Paris, Ark. | RHP | Crowder College >>> As a sophomore at Crowder College, Ward posted an 11-1 record with the fourth-most strikeouts in all of junior college softball with 237. She owned an 11.9 K/7 rating, posted a 1.26 ERA and tossed 11 complete games in 139.1 innings of work. Ward earned All-Region XVI first-team honors and was named to the Region XVI All-Tournament team following the Roughriders' runner-up performance in the tournament. Ward helped Crowder post a 47-8 record in 2021. Anderson added, "There is so much talent top to bottom and the team chemistry is outstanding. We will continue to grind this fall and do what we know it takes to continue to compete at a National Level…Team 24 will be ready to continue the tradition of winning that is synonymous with Mulerider Softball."

2021 WIAA state boys golf tournament: Rob Hernandez's Division 1 sectional preview, predictions | WIAA Boys
Wisconsin.Golf’s Rob Hernandez sizes up the WIAA Division 1 boys sectional golf tournaments being contested across the state this week. The top two teams in each sectional advance to next week’s state tournament, along with the top three golfers not on those teams. The Division 1 state championships are scheduled for June 14-15 at Wild Rock Golf Club.
WAUSAU EAST SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Antigo 355 3 1985 D.C. Everest (Schofield) 337 4 1991 Eau Claire Memorial 290 49 2019 Hudson 299 3 2019 New Richmond 311 22 2001 River Falls 305 16 2018 Stevens Point 338 27 2016 Wausau West 352 4 2007 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Jaxon Bulgrin, Marshfield 85 Carter Cygan, Wausau East 79 Jamin Dufree, Superior 79 Brett Elkin, Chippewa Falls 71 Koldyn Gechas, Rhinelander 81 Andrew Henrichs, Rhinelander 89 Matt Nault, Superior 77 Andrew Rude, Superior 77
When, where: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Hills CC-Wausau, par 72.
That was then (in 2019): Hudson senior Charley Chase and sophomore Bennett Swavely shot matching 76s at New Richmond Golf Course as the Raiders shot 316 and edged Big Rivers Conference rival Eau Claire Memorial (320) to win the 2019 WIAA Division 1 New Richmond sectional. New Richmond sophomore Owen Covey shot 71 to slip past eventual state champion Russell Dettmering of Merrill by one shot for medalist honors. Stevens Point senior Evan Thomas joined Covey and Dettmering in qualifying for the state tournament at University Ridge GC in Madison. Covey and Swavely were the top performers among golfers currently competing in the 2021 high school season.
This is now (in 2021): There is nothing like a 290 to get people’s attention and that’s exactly what Eau Claire Memorial did last week in winning the WIAA Division 1 Superior regional at Nemadji GC in Superior. Freshman Will Schlitz shot 4-under-par 68, one of just three sub-70 rounds in the state, to edge Hudson senior Bennett Swavely, a University of Minnesota recruit, by one shot for medalist honors as the Old Abes outscored Hudson 290-299 for the team title. History would suggest that it will be a much different story on the scoreboard at Greenwood Hills, which last played host to a sectional in 2011 when Hudson (323) knocked off Superior (336) and Eau Claire North (339) for the team title. Memorial, the Big Rivers Conference champion, has a freshman (Schlitz) and two sophomores (Ben Christensen and Parker Etzel), for whom this sectional will be their first. Could that open the door for Hudson, which has three seniors in its starting five with one of them a tournament veteran in Swavely. Much like Memorial and Hudson dueled in the Big Rivers, Stevens Point and Wausau West went back-and-forth in finishing 1-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference only to finish second and third, respectively, behind D.C. Everest (Schofield) at the Everest regional at Wausau CC. On paper, none of the three WVC favorites have the scoring punch of Eau Claire Memorial and Hudson, but that may not be as important if the sectional plays out the way Leg 5 of the WVC tournament series did May 14, when Stevens Point (346) outlasted Wausau West (348) and D.C. Everest (352) for team honors in a high-scoring affair on the challenging Greenwood Hills layout.
Projected state team qualifiers: Hudson, Eau Claire Memorial.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Logan Pechinski, Stevens Point; Carter Cygan, Wausau East; Owen Covey, New Richmond.
NOTRE DAME (GREEN BAY) SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Appleton North 345 3 2001 Appleton West 352 4 2003 Ashwaubenon 330 3 2008 Bay Port 342 7 2019 De Pere 316 6 2015 Green Bay Preble 340 15 2010 Notre Dame (Green Bay) 317 15 2018 West De Pere 325 3 2004 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Aiden Cudney, Kimberly 82 Sam Knapp, Kaukauna 87 Kaden Marcell, Shawano 81 Jake Prestigiacomo, Appleton East 87 Quinn Process, Pulaski 81 Connor Schaefer, Hortonville 89 Lucas te Plate, Shawano 86 Aaron Tonn, Pulaski 86
When, where: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Thornberry Creek at Oneida GC, par 72.
That was then (in 2019): Kaukauna’s dynamic senior duo of Tyler Cleaves (74) and Brock Hlinak (75) paved the way, but fellow seniors Zachary Klingseisen (76) and Reis Schweiner (77) weren’t too shabby, either, as the Galloping Ghosts fired a 302 and rolled to the Notre Dame (Green Bay) sectional at Thornberry Creek at Oneida GC. Bay Port (319) edged host Notre Dame (Green Bay) by one shot for the second state berth behind junior Preston Cedergren, who shared medalist honors with Appleton East senior Ben Gilkay and Cleaves. Gilkay, Green Bay Preble senior Cole Hanke (75) and Green Bay Southwest senior Trent Thomas (75) earned the individual state tournament berths. Appleton West sophomore Austin Georger, who lost to birdies from Hanke and Thomas on the second playoff hole for the last two berths, shot 75 and was the top finisher among current high school golfers.
This is now (in 2021): It must be the WIAA postseason because sectional host Notre Dame (Green Bay) turned in one of its finest performances of the season last week in winning the Ashwaubenon regional at Brown County GC in Oneida. Junior Ryan Darling had a lot to do with that, firing a 1-under 71 to earn medalist honors by seven strokes and help the Tritons (317) roll past Fox River Classic Conference rival Ashwaubenon (330) for the title. Lost, perhaps, in Darling’s work up front was the fact Notre Dame had all five golfers shoot 85 or better on a tough layout. Two years ago Notre Dame packed its four scoring golfers between 78 and 84 only to fall one shot shy of Bay Port in its bid for a 16th state tournament berth. This year, De Pere figures to be the team the Tritons and everyone else will be chasing. The FRCC overall champion Redbirds looked strong at its own regional at Ledgeview GC in De Pere with seniors Ben Busick (78) and Grady Coppo (79), junior Sam Mehlberg (79) and sophomore Jack Weisenberger (80) setting a tone that will be tough to beat if they can replicate that balance at Thornberry Creek. Lurking out there, too, is Fox Valley Association champion Appleton North, which won the FVA Championship with a 327 but finished third (345) at the De Pere regional.
Projected state team qualifiers: Notre Dame (Green Bay), De Pere.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Austin Georger, Appleton West; Max Reis, West De Pere; Aiden Cudney, Kimberly.
MADISON MEMORIAL SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Holmen 331 6 2019 Madison Memorial 321 17 2017 Middleton 310 21 2019 Onalaska 327 21 2013 Reedsburg 358 7 2008 Tomah 333 4 1983 Verona 323 1 2018 Waunakee 309 1 2017 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Dominick Fetterer, Wisconsin Rapids 88 Charlie Gibbs, Baraboo 84 Finn Jackson, Madison West 88 Dane Kubisiak, Wisconsin Rapids 88 Sonny Lombardo, Mount Horeb 88 Kaleb Lycke, La Crosse Central/Logan 83 Jack Morgan, Madison West 85 Brandt Wilson, Sauk Prairie 89
When, where: 9 a.m. Monday at Blackhawk CC-Madison, par 72.
That was then (in 2019): Historically a mix of Madison- and La Crosse-area teams, this sectional welcomed Wisconsin Rapids to the mix for the first time and went to the Ridges GC in Wisconsin Rapids to determine state qualifiers. The results, however, looked a lot like those when the sectional is played in Madison or La Crosse. Four Middleton golfers broke 80, led by junior Kip Sullivan (75), as the Cardinals shot 306 and topped Holmen by five shots for the team title. Mount Horeb’s Kasen Fager (72) earned medalist honors by two strokes over Verona senior Austin Gaby. They joined Sparta junior Austin Erickson (76) in advancing to the state tournament as individuals. Middleton sophomore Jacob Beckman (79) tied for 10th and was the top finisher among golfers still competing at the high school level in 2021.
This is now (in 2021): Middleton, which finished second to Milwaukee Marquette at the 2019 WIAA Division 1 state championship, was reminded last week that it’s as tough to get to the state tournament out of this sectional as it is to contend once there. The Cardinals shot 310 at their own regional last week at Pleasant View GC, but finished second to Waunakee (309), which boasted the medalist in junior Max Brud (73) and had all five golfers break 85. Middleton’s four scoring golfers ranged from 75 to 80 with a lineup that had just one senior (University of Wisconsin recruit Jacob Beckman) in it. While they would appear to be the teams to beat, Onalaska’s winning 327 at its own regional came on a demanding La Crosse CC and will no doubt send the Hilltoppers into the sectional with confidence. However, qualifiers from both regionals will find a much different challenge at Blackhawk CC, a tight layout with fast greens that is playing host to a boys sectional for the first time in recent memory. When the course held a Division 1 regional in 2017, Middleton won with a 311, but none of the other schools in the eight-team field broke 325 and only one golfer bettered 76. To further muddy the waters, three schools ranked in the top 10 — No. 4 Middleton, No. 8 Waunakee and No. 9 Madison Memorial — are in the field as are the top two teams also receiving votes (Verona and Holmen).
Projected state team qualifiers: Middleton, Madison Memorial.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Will Meganck, Waunakee; Hunter Neumann, Tomah; Sam Evenson, Holmen.
PLYMOUTH SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Arrowhead (Hartland) 302 30 2019 Fond du Lac 345 39 2019 Hartford 340 12 2003 Manitowoc 341 21 2007 Neenah 344 10 2014 Plymouth 346 15 2017 Sheboygan North 307 27 2018 Slinger 321 5 2014 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Owen Beumler, Sheboygan South 89 Isaac Geffers, Oshkosh North 88 Joseph Held, West Bend West 88 Tristan Helgeson, West Bend West 89 Nic Kolar, Sheboygan South 89 Boden Memmel, West Bend East 90 Dakota Rezachek, Two Rivers/Mishicot 89 Evan Spaeth, West Bend West 86
When, where: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Quit-Qui-Oc GC-Elkhart Lake, par 71.
That was then (in 2019): Two-time defending WIAA Division 1 state champion Piercen Hunt shot 70 at Washington County GC in Hartford as Arrowhead (Hartland) shot 308 and edged Fond du Lac by four shots for the team title at the WIAA Division 1 Hartford regional. Beaver Dam senior Zak Kulka, a UW-Green Bay recruit, finished second with a 72 and joined Plymouth senior Charlie Aschenbach (74) and De Pere senior Cole Griffin (76) in qualifying for the state tournament individually. Slinger sophomore Addison Raimer and West De Pere freshman Max Reis shot matching 80s and were the top finishers among those golfers who are still competing during the 2021 season.
This is now (in 2021): Sheboygan North moves into this sectional from what this year is the Mequon Homestead sectional and promises to give perennial power and top-ranked Arrowhead (Hartland) a run for the team title. The Golden Raiders are coming off of a Neenah regional championship where sophomore Mason Schmidtke’s state-best 66 fueled their 307 winning score. Overshadowed by Schmidtke’s remarkable round was the fact that all five North golfers, three of them seniors, shot 86 or better. That experience will be critical against Arrowhead and Slinger, whose senior standouts are at the top of their lineups and promise to make the road to Wild Rock GC in Wisconsin Dells difficult for North. Arrowhead seniors Nick Amtmann and Andrew Fickel shared regional medalist honors with 73s at Washington County GC last week as the Warhawks, who also got a 74 from sophomore Bode King, shot 302 to top Slinger by 19 strokes. Raimer, however, is playing some of the best golf of his high school career and has formed a solid nucleus with junior Will Summers and senior Tyson Miller.
Projected state team qualifiers: Arrowhead (Hartland), Sheboygan North.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Addison Raimer, Slinger; Will Summers, Slinger; Wyatt Pfeiffer, Fond du Lac.
JANESVILLE PARKER SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Beloit Memorial 340 28 2013 Fort Atkinson 356 11 2015 Milton 326 1 1987 Monona Grove 346 3 2017 Mukwonago 332 8 2019 Oregon 353 1 2000 Stoughton 358 9 2013 Sun Prairie 351 8 2010 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Nolan Ahler, Elkhorn 85 Will Arkin, Madison La Follette 92 Josh Brogren, Elkhorn 85 Ryan Ertel, McFarland 90 Kai Klass, McFarland 91 Wyatt Marshall, Janesville Craig 73 Ethan Prusakeiwicz, DeForest 88 Bryce Sullivan, Janesville Craig 87
When, where: 8 a.m. Tuesday at Janesville Riverside GC, par 72.
That was then (in 2019): Bucknell recruit Blake Wisdom of Lake Geneva Badger shot 71 while teammates Luke Abram (75), Ben Rademaker (77) and TJ Walton (78) also broke 80 as the Badgers (301) pulled out a two-stroke victory at the Mukwonago sectional at Edgewood GC in Big Bend. Mukwonago won a team playoff over Sun Prairie for the second state berth after the two teams tied for second place at 303, leaving the Cardinals’ Mickey Keating (73) to take one of the three state individual berths with Janesville Parker junior Kadin Kleman (73) and Milton senior AJ Gray (75), who won a playoff over Sun Prairie senior Ethan Carrick and Janesville Parker’s Zack Milner for the final spot at University Ridge. Badger’s Abram, who tied for fifth, was the top golfer among those still competing at the high school level in 2021.
This is now (in 2021): As is often the case with a sectional that encompasses areas south of Madison and west of Milwaukee, this sectional couldn’t be more wide open. Milton (326) and Monona Grove (346) come to Janesville Riverside as regional champions, but Mukwonago (332) and Beloit Memorial (340) finished within 14 strokes of Milton at the Mukwonago regional at Edgewood GC in Big Bend and Sun Prairie (351), Oregon (353) and Stoughton (358) finished within 12 shots of MG at the Portage regional at Portage CC. Likewise, only four golfers broke 80 at Mukwonago, led by individual sectional qualifier Wyatt Marshall of Janesville Craig (73), and no one shot lower than 81 at Portage. Beloit Memorial and Monona Grove shot matching 349s to finish T-2 at the Ashenfelder Invitational at Janesville Riverside last month, but history suggests the course is much more forgiving than that so it will likely take a score lower than 320 to advance to the state tournament.
Projected state team qualifiers: Milton, Mukwonago.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Griffin Oberneder, Beloit Memorial; Jacob Frederickson, Monona Grove; Wyatt Marshall, Janesville Craig.
HOMESTEAD (MEQUON) SECTIONAL
TEAM QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE STATE BERTHS LAST Cedarburg 308 4 2016 Germantown 314 2 2010 Hamilton (Sussex) 320 0 NA Hometead (Mequon) 304 31 2019 Kettle Moraine 295 8 2019 Oconomowoc 332 26 2006 Pewaukee 330 5 2012 Waukesha West 329 1 2004 INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS REGIONAL SCORE Jake Anderson, Whitefish Bay 82 Collin Barry, Whitefish Bay 81 Ben Hilbelink, Menomonee Falls 72 Peter Hoeppner, Waukesha North 82 Jackson Piacsek, Waukesha North 76 Mason Roanhouse, Waterford 79 Cullen Starker, Whitefish Bay 79 Owen Van Galen, Waukesha South 83
When, where: 9 a.m. Tuesday at North Shore CC-Mequon.
That was then (in 2019): Sophomore Ty Mueller (78) and junior Josh Teplin (80) turned in top-10 finishes as Mequon Homestead shot 322 and survived arguably the toughest sectional venue in the state on the Irish Course at Whistling Straits in Haven with the Sheboygan North sectional championship. Kettle Moraine (330) edged Sheboygan North (333) and Germantown (336) for the second state berth. Sheboygan North seniors Austin Thyes (73) and Max Schmidtke (76) and Waterford junior Josh Koszarek (75) qualified for the state tournament individually. Medalist Ben Pausha of Kettle Moraine (72) was the top finisher among golfers still competing at the high school level in 2021.
This is now (in 2021): Top-ranked Kettle Moraine, which shot 295 in winning the Waukesha South regional, and No. 3 Mequon Homestead headline a field that includes a few teams — Cedarburg, Germantown and Hamilton (Sussex) — capable of keeping the favorites from punching their ticket to the state tournament in Wisconsin Dells. It will take a yeoman’s effort, however. Kettle Moraine’s victory at Morningstar Golfers Club in Waukesha included a 72 from senior Jackson Vinopal, a 73 from freshman Spencer Stuke, a 74 from sophomore Alex Koenig and a 76 from senior Jackson Cain. Pausha, the sectional champion two years ago the last time a WIAA tournament series was held, had his 78 thrown out. Homestead seemed comfortable with the shootout that was its regional at Mee Kwon GC. Mueller’s 71 earned him a share of medalist honors with Germantown’s Collin Thomey and led the way for the Highlanders (304), who got a 75 from sophomore Hunter Thibert and a 77 from senior Christian Sobczak at the back end of the lineup on a day when No. 2 golfer Joe Fricker shot 82 despite a 37 on the back nine. Cedarburg (Nathan Theama), Germantown (Thomey) and Sussex Hamilton (Michael Addie) all have strong No. 1 golfers who won’t be intimidated by a tough sectional venue in North Shore CC, which is the fourth Mequon-area course Homestead has enlisted to host a postseason competition in the last three years.
Projected state team qualifiers: Homestead (Mequon), Kettle Moraine .

When, where: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Ives Grove GL-Sturtevant, par 72.
That was then (in 2019): Junior Jack Lutze (70) and seniors Jack Blair (72) and Drew Sagrillo (72) swept the top three spots and freshman Hayden LeMonds (76) finished T-7 as Milwaukee Marquette shot 290 and cruised to a 17-stroke victory over Franklin to win its own sectional at Brown Deer Park GC in Milwaukee. No other school finished within 36 strokes of the top two teams. University of Wisconsin-bound junior Cameron Huss of Kenosha Tremper (76) earned his first WIAA state tournament berth as an individual qualifier along with St. Francis/Cudahy sophomore Peter Iwanowski (78) and Greenfield senior Sam Mendoza (79). Franklin sophomore John Mirsberger (73) finished T-4, the best showing by a golfer still competing in the high school ranks in 2021.
This is now (in 2021): The names may change, but the results remain the same for Milwaukee Marquette, which has won the last two WIAA Division 1 state championships and three of the last four. Senior Riley Simonz (75), junior Sebastian Kasun (76) and sophomore Marco Bamrah (76) swept the top three places and junior Hayden LeMonds shot 77 in his season debut after a long road to recovery from Bankart Repair shoulder surgery last summer as the Hilltoppers shot 304 to win their own regional a Brown Deer Park, a rather stress-free competition with only three schools fielding full teams. That junior Will Hemauer’s 78 was thrown out speaks to the depth coach Brad Niswonger’s team has again in 2021. There figures to be a wide gap between Marquette and the second-place team at Ives Grove. None of the other six teams in the sectional shot lower than 329 (Oak Creek), paving the way for a spirited battle for the second state berth.
Projected state team qualifiers: Marquette (Milwaukee), Racine Case.
Projected state individual qualifiers: Dylan Moore, Kenosha Indian Trail; Tyler Dahl, Kenosha Tremper; John Mirsberger, Franklin.

Swab shared medalist honors with UW-Eau Claire-bound senior Connor Brown of Union Grove, who qualified individually Brookfield Central seniors Jack Anderson (75) and Dean Yun (76). Yun won a playoff over Brookfield East’s Zach Walsh for the final state individual berth. Sophomore Sam Yun (78), who finished T-12, was the top finisher among those golfers still competing during the 2021 high school season.
This is now (in 2021): Badger (Lake Geneva) moves over from the Janesville Parker regional to take aim at Wauwatosa East/West, which placed all five golfers in the top 11 at last week’s Brookfield Central regional at Wanaki GC in Menomonee Falls and shot a 317 to top runner-up Brookfield East by 10 shots for the team title. Junior Ben Soboleski (75) and senior Colin Muellen (79) were the only golfers to break 80 at Wanaki, the kind of scores that will go a long way at Brighton Dale Links in a sectional that is otherwise extremely balanced. Badger won the Union Grove regional at Ives Grove GL in Sturtevant with a 327 behind junior TJ Walton, who played well in the postseason in 2019, and seniors Colton Craig (81) and Chris Bakken (83). Scores are seldom low at Brighton Dale so this sectional will not only test the depth of teams hoping to advance to Wisconsin Dells, but also their patience.
Projected state team qualifiers: Wauwatosa East/West, Badger (Lake Geneva) .
Projected state individual qualifiers: Simon Graham, Union Grove; Sam Sonsalla, Brookfield Central; Charlie Bennett, Brookfield East.

given that 2005, CC's ladies basketball team is not the safeguarding sectional champ entering the season.Thank the Carroll Cougars for all that extra inspiration to begin a new streak after CC was outmatched in last year's sectional title video game."Our initial open fitness center, coach was available in and stated last year was a failure,"senior Jennifer Mills stated."He didn't sugarcoat it at all. After that out, we've been working our butts off each time to obtain better. "That loss to Carroll ended streaks of 29 successive sectional success and 15 postseason wins after the Knights claimed the 2015 Class A state title and the 2016 2A champion."Going to CC and with how many banners we have on the wall, we anticipate championships
,"senior Bay Ulery stated."That is the frame of mind. The coaches are really pushing us this year. Throughout practice, they are nitpicking whatever since they expect more out of us. They expect us to win a state champion and win all the video games we play."Can the Knights channel that problem and use it to drive them back to the top?" It was an excellent learning experience for
these ladies,"assistant coach Drake Barrett said." Before that, they hadn't experienced losing at the sectional level and it provides us new objectives this year. Start from the bottom and ultimately work our method back up to the top."The Knights do so with two of the much better players in 2A basketball once Libby Bonner returns from a torn ACL. Bonner, in addition to junior guard Lexi Thompson, combined for nearly 30 points per game last season.Beyond them is a series of possible 5-to-10 points per game scorers. That may be where Central Catholic is most harmful in its pursuit to again declare championships. "There's not going to be someone scoring 30 points a game, but some video games Lexi will score 20 and other games, Jen will score 15,"Ulery said. "It will level. Time for Lance Leipold’s Buffalo Bulls to take the next step
The Bulls have all the experience and depth that they lacked in Leipold’s first few seasons.
The MAC seems to have its act together.
Toledo and Ohio fielded pretty excellent teams — in Ohio’s case, maybe its best since the 1960s — in 2017.
NIU rebounded nicely and could continue in 2018.
Miami (Ohio), BGSU, and WMU have stockpiled talent.
It took a mother lode of bad bounces to keep EMU from a second straight bowl last fall.
CMU and Akron got good bounces and took advantage.
That’s a lot of teams looking at an upward trajectory. And I haven’t yet mentioned Buffalo.
I made no attempt to hide how intrigued I was when Division III legend Leipold took over at UB in 2015. I’ve always been curious about the shift from one level of the sport to another, and apparently Leipold was, too. Twenty-two of his 28 seasons of coaching experience had come at the D3 level, and while he was a demigod there — 109-6 at UW-Whitewater with six national titles in eight years — he left for perhaps a lot of the same reasons North Dakota State legend Craig Bohl left for Wyoming a year earlier. It was time to see what he could do.
The results have been mixed. He crafted a sort of “Steps 1-10: don’t beat yourself” identity, but he didn’t have enough play-makers to do much damage. Only three tight losses prevented them from becoming bowl eligible in his first year, but the offense fell apart with a QB change in 2016, and the Bulls went 2-10. For the first time since 2003, as an assistant on Frank Solich’s final Nebraska staff, he entered 2017 on a staff that felt genuine pressure to succeed.
Buffalo improved from two wins to six last fall, generating a plus-44 scoring margin and pulling off wins over 11-3 FAU and 9-4 Ohio. Once again, tight losses were costly — there were four, including a seven-OT loss to WMU — and while the Bulls were bowl-eligible, they just missed out on a bid.
Still, this was UB’s best team since the 2013 squad that went 8-5, and it wasn’t that far behind the 2008 MAC Championship team. UB improved from 127th to 75th in S&P+, by 39 spots in Def. S&P+ and 53 in Off. S&P+.
Best of all, it was young. The Bulls were led by a sophomore quarterback, a sophomore running back, sophomores and juniors in the receiving corps and offensive line, and a favorable enough mix of juniors and seniors on defense that there are now two to three senior leaders returning at each level.
Leipold brought in former UWW offensive coordinator Jim Zebrowski to help out another former UWW OC, Andy Kotelnicki, and it paid off.
Despite a mostly new receiving corps, and despite battling a knee injury and missing four games (of which Buffalo lost three by a combined 14 points), quarterback Tyree Jackson improved his completion rate from 53 percent to 60 and his yards per completion from 10.7 to 14.7 while averaging nearly seven yards per non-sack carry. He returns, as does star receiver Anthony Johnson (76 catches, 1,356 yards, 14 touchdowns).
We saw proof of concept for Leipold in Buffalo last year. The Bulls do need to figure out how to maneuver better and/or find some better bounces in close games (5-9 in one-possession games over three seasons), and they are in a better MAC now. But their upside was undeniable, especially with Jackson healthy, and they aren’t that many breaks from contention in the East.
Offense
If you want to compare and contrast, here’s a link to Buffalo’s 2016 offensive radar. The 2016 Bulls were pretty good at avoiding negative plays and creating third-and-manageables but boasted no big-play threats and weren’t good enough at converting third-and-manageables. Making sure you don’t move backwards is important, but you have to move forward, too.
Enter Johnson. The redshirt junior, an Iowa Western CC transfer and cousin of Jadeveon Clowney, announced his presence with an 11-catch performance in the season opener against Minnesota, then kicked into higher gear in MAC play. He had 195 receiving yards against WMU, 140 against NIU, and 150-plus in each of the final three games of the year, all wins.
Johnson was one of only 14 FBS players targeted with at least 125 passes in 2017, and he had by far the best marginal explosiveness (plus-0.8 points per successful play) of the 14. He was the James Washington of the mid-major level and at 6’2, 207, he is an X-receiver prototype.
youtube
(He looks bigger than 205, doesn’t he?)
It’s funny what adding a brilliant No. 1 receiver can do for your offense, huh? Johnson forced defenders to take notice and opened up options for some possession receivers.
Jackson loses a couple of those but returns junior K.J. Osborn, sophomore Antonio Nunn, and tight end Tyler Mabry (combined: 74 catches, 1,036 yards, six TDs) and adds Wisconsin graduate transfer George Rushing.
Jackson was Quinn’s parting gift to Leipold. The 6’7, 245-pound Muskegon (Mich.) product committed to Quinn and UB before the 2014 season, and Leipold was able to secure his signature the following February. He struggled as a redshirt freshman but blossomed with a combination of better weapons, increased maturity, and Zebrowski’s guidance. He picked his spots better in the run game, too, going from 8.8 non-sack carries per game to 4.2 but improving by nearly 1.7 yards per carry.
Danny Wild-USA TODAY Sports
Tyree Jackson
In Jackson’s absence, QB Drew Anderson fared well until he, too, got hurt, and freshman Kyle Vantrease struggled in frustrating losses to NIU (14-13) and Miami (24-14). Anderson, a senior, is a pretty exciting prospect in his own right, but Jackson is a potential difference-maker, especially with the connection that he and Johnson showed in the final three games.
Kotelnicki and Zebrowski, now co-coordinators, want a balanced threat in their offense, and while the passing game (38th in Passing S&P+) saw incredible progress, the run game was still lacking (123rd in Rushing S&P+). Experience should help. Backs Emmanuel Reed and Theo Anderson (combined: 4.2 yards per carry) were a sophomore and freshman, respectively, and 40 of 60 offensive line starts went to sophomores and juniors.
All-MAC center James O’Hagan returns, as does an enormous left-side combination of 315-pound tackle Evin Ksiezarczyk and 340-pound former Rutgers guard Jacquis Webb. Continuity in the run game isn’t a key predictor of improvement, but it can’t hurt, and any improvement will further open up the passing game.

Defense
Avoid getting gashed, then figure things out from there. That’s been the general, conservative approach for Leipold and defensive coordinator Brian Borland, one that fits harmoniously with the offense’s “don’t go backwards” philosophy. And in a conference that saw quite a few bend-don’t-break defenses in 2017, UB’s might have been the most effective.
The Bulls allowed just 24.8 points per game (41st in FBS) despite the 71-68, seven-OT loss to WMU (which was just 31-31 at the end of regulation); take out OT points, and UB’s average improves to 21.5.
Buffalo’s biggest strength was indeed big-play prevention — 1.7 gains per game of 30-plus yards (29th in FBS), plus a No. 15 ranking in IsoPPP (which measures the magnitude of the successful plays you allow) — but the Bulls showed some havoc potential on blitz downs. Three defenders had at least three sacks, and two return: linebacker Khalil Hodge and end Chuck Harris.
Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports
Khalil Hodge
Hodge isn’t quite as impressive as the last Buffalo star named Khalil (that would be Khalil Mack), but he’s a keeper. He made 15 percent of UB’s tackles last year and 12 percent of the Bulls’ havoc plays. Now he just needs some more help. A bend-don’t-break philosophy can pay off if you have enough natural play-makers to defeat their man without taking tactical risks. UB was still a bit lacking in that regard.
The senior class has come along nicely, though. Two senior linemen (Harris and tackle Justin Brandon) recorded at least four tackles for loss last year, two senior linebackers (Hodge and Jordan Collier) recorded at least six, and four senior cornerbacks (Tatum Slack, Brandon Williams, Cameron Lewis, and Devon Russell) defensed at least three passes.
In a best-case scenario, there’s enough young upside to push these entrenched seniors. Leipold brought in two JUCO tackles (Atunaisa Vainikolo and DeShondrick Foxworth), three-star end and UMass transfer Taylor Riggins, and JUCO safety Joey Banks to bring extra physical maturity to the mix, and there are a couple of exciting three-star redshirt freshmen in linebacker Rick Squires and corner Aapri Washington.
The biggest question for 2018 comes at the safety position, though. For all of these exciting cornerbacks, losing stalwarts Ryan Williamson and Tim Roberts could be costly in terms of big-play prevention. The return of junior Dev Lamour from injury will help, but unless Banks is ready from day one, Borland might be forced to rely on a sophomore or two.

Special Teams
Offense and defense both took definitive steps forward in 2017. Special teams did not. UB ranked 123rd in Special Teams S&P+ — the Bulls’ third straight year in the 120s — and loses one of its stronger (less weak?) pieces in punter Kyle DeWeen.
Return man K.J. Osborn is decent, but kicker Adam Mitcheson missed three PATs and five field goals under 40 yards (he was just 2-for-6 over 40 yards, too). You think that could be costly for a team that loses more close games than it wins?

Per S&P+, 2017 saw Buffalo’s best defense since 2013 and its best offense since 2008. And most of key components of both units return. The run game still has room to grow, and the defense could use a couple more havoc guys, but it’s pretty clear that UB returns enough pieces from last year’s breakthrough to expect bigger things this fall.
The schedule will help. S&P+ projects UB a conservative 93rd (mainly because of the iffy recent history and recruiting that hasn’t featured many three-star guys). But even with that, the Bulls are still projected 7-5 with a win probability of 46 percent or higher in eight games and, perhaps as important, 25 percent or lower in just one.
I would be surprised if the Bulls rank much lower than they did last year, and that puts eight or nine wins on the table. That they play at Ohio and Bowling Green might preclude division title thoughts, but this should be Leipold’s best team, and while last year’s bowl-eligible squad couldn’t secure a postseason bid, going 8-4 or so should send them to their first bowl since 2013.

Fulham had free live audio last season. Go90 is an app by Verizon that seems to have BeIN sports for free…. I just checked this out and it looks legit. There is streaming for both Bein Sports and Bein Espanol. Unfortunately, it does not look like you can view programs on demand.
You have to stream whatever is on Bein live. Replays of games are available but you have to catch them when they show on the Bein stations. Anyone else use Go90 for Bein Sports? Hi i want to ask you something about fl championship. I am living in Turkey how to i watch efl matches online. I can pay for this but there are some regional problems. Does Fubo have the bein sports connect or is it just bein spanish and english versions? Hi Alex, great question. Our schedule is the most complete.
Hey Chris, are you sure your schedule is correct? They must have made a last minute programming change. But it has no audio…sigh. To be clear, this is not the only factor that is questioning my subscription. The one other Newcastle game I was able to watch was the first of the season Fulham via fubo. That stalled plenty of times. I rarely had that kind of issue withe the NBC Sports service last season.
There could be efl free live stream few factors that are contributing to the issues. Your best bet would be to contact fuboTV support via support fubotv. They should be able to problem solve the efl free live stream. Hope that helps. Does Bein post this information somewhere in particular? I only ask as I have noticed on this page sometimes this info is available more than a week in advance — but the bein tv guide only stretches forward 6 days.
Thanks Christopher.

As soon as we get the streaam from our sources, we update this page with the latest details. Based on delayed broadcasts coming during the following week, they will have 4 matches live on their beIN CONNECT service as they are showing on delayed basis the following:.
Friday, September 9 — Reading vs. Ipswich town, am Saturday Monday, September 12 — Fulham vs. Newcastle United, pm. Saturday, September 17 — Cardiff City vs.
EFL Championship
Tuesday, September 20 — Leicester City vs. Manchester United and Swansea City vs. Very few pubs in US have streaming and the ability to show Bein Sports connect. If efl free live stream, how do I access it without paying the Fubo TV monthly charge?
It usually only works on the second try. Do they get a share of the money that is paid to the teams that are televised. If not, how are the teams picked??? Unfortunately because Brentford have fewer fans than some of the other big clubs in the division, that means that Brentford are shown less often than the likes of Villa, Newcastle, Leeds, Wolves, etc.
All of the teams in the division get a split of the TV revenue, but the more times the team is on TV, the more money they generate. Fans want to see pre-match lead up, punditry, efl free live stream commentary and a little post-match reaction with Manager interviews.

The Best Sporting Venues in Dallas
Texas is full of sporting greatness! It is home to some of the most successful sports teams in the country and plays host to a number of international sporting events. Many of these are held in and around Dallas. Here is a look at some great sporting days out that are available to sports fans looking for something to do in the city.
The Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers are the Major League Baseball team for the state of Texas, located just a short drive from Dallas at the Globe Life Park in Arlington.
The team has had limited success in its 58-year history, with no World Series titles, 7 division titles, and 2 pennants, however most of these victories have come in recent years, so there is hope of a World Series win if they can continue to improve.
The team will be moving to a new home just a few minutes away after this season, so this year will be your final chance to catch a game in the Globe Life Park.
A trip to the game needn't be expensive, as tickets start at just $27, but if you feel like splurging, VIP seats are available for $250 a piece.
To add to the fun of attending a baseball game, at Globe Life Park, the Rangers put on regular theme nights that celebrate pop culture. Recent nights have included Star Wars Night and Whataburger Night. For fans that are looking to extend the excitement even further, services like FoxBet allow fans to make wagers on anything from whether a particular player will get a hit, all the way to the outcome of the game.
AT&T Stadium
If football is more your sport, then a trip to the AT&T Stadium is for you. The home of the Dallas Cowboys is the largest domed structure in the world, and cost $1.2 billion to construct.
If you’re intending to watch a game, there are plenty of options, from standing only tickets at $30 right through to premium seats at $500 a piece. Private suites are also available, but at a cost of around $15,000 to $20,000 per game.
VIP guided tours of the stadium are available outside of game days, costing around $32 each. Guides with a wealth of knowledge of the stadium and the Cowboys will take you around many areas not normally open to the public, including private suites, the press box, the Dr Pepper Star Bar, locker rooms, interview room, and the field itself. This is a great option for football and Cowboys fans to get into the shoes of their footballing heroes.
Toyota Stadium & Soccer Hall of Fame
The Toyota Stadium is a 20,500 capacity soccer stadium and is home to FC Dallas and the National Soccer Hall of Fame, which was added in 2018. Construction got under way in 2004 and was completed a year later at a cost of $80 million. The stadium has recently undergone a major renovation, which saw the construction of a multi-tiered stand, new locker rooms, a patio, conference area, and a “European-style” roof.
Tickets to home games at the Toyota Stadium range from $25 to $75 depending on where you choose to sit.
The National Soccer Hall of Fame honours the sporting achievements of US soccer stars. To be eligible, players must be retired and have either played in 20 full international games for the USA, or played in a minimum of five seasons for a first division team and won the league championship or the US Open Cup. The Hall of Fame is usually open at weekends, and on select days during the week, but it is advisable to check the official website as these are subject to change.
Although there are no dining options inside the Hall of Fame, there are several nearby options that it recommends to guests, including Tex-Mex, sushi and fried chicken options.
Dallas is home to some spectacular sports venues and teams, including the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium, the largest dome building in the world. It also houses the Soccer Hall of Fame, which chronicles the story of the greatest players in US history. Whether you’re looking to catch a game, or you think a tour of a stadium would be fun, Dallas has plenty on offer for you.

Yankees rallied in the ninth to beat the Rays 4-3
A little while later, it was Gio Urshela who had the last word for the New York Yankees (New York Yankees championship rings for sale). Urshela's single capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the surging Yankees leapfrogged Tampa Bay into first place in the AL East with a rousing 4-3 victory Friday night. "When Gio came up, I said: 'Turn off the lights,'" Sabathia recalled. Urshela, subbing spectacularly for injured third baseman Miguel Andujar, sent a two-out drive over Kevin Kiermaier's head in deep right-center field for his first walk-off hit. "The kid's just been unbelievable, and every time there's a big situation, he always comes through," teammate Luke Voit said. "He's been the energy of this team so far," Sabathia said.
Voit homered on the first pitch from Jose Alvarado (0-3) to make it 3-2. New York tied it when pinch-runner Thairo Estrada scored on a bases-loaded wild pitch by Alvarado, who entered with a 1.04 ERA. Urshela and Voit had three hits apiece. Kendrys Morales clubbed an early solo shot for his first home run since joining the Yankees on Wednesday following a trade from Oakland. Willy Adames homered off Sabathia, who pitched six strong innings, and rookie Brandon Lowe hit a tiebreaking double against Chad Green with two outs in the eighth. Tampa Bay added another run on shortstop Gleyber Torres' throwing error before rain caused a 35-minute delay in the bottom of the inning. Torres doubled on the 10th pitch of his at-bat in the ninth to put runners at second and third with one out. "There's no excuse for what happened," Alvarado said through a translator. "They must have been sitting on my fastball."
Jonathan Holder (3-1) struck out two in a perfect inning. With their fourth straight victory and ninth in 11 games, the injury-ravaged Yankees (cheap championship rings) took over the division lead for the first time since a March 30 loss. "Night in and night out, I mean, it gets better and better. It's crazy," Voit said. Tampa Bay had been alone in first place since the end of games on March 31. The unfriendly rivals play twice more this weekend after New York took two of three from the Rays last weekend at Tropicana Field. "Anytime you get walked off, it's tough," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "We did a lot of things good. We just came up short." Sabathia threw three inside pitches to Austin Meadows, including one right near the knees, before walking him with two outs and nobody on in the fifth. As he was coming off the field, a camera caught Sabathia appearing to tell teammates he "was definitely trying to hit" Meadows.
"I really didn't think anything of it, honestly," Meadows said. "He didn't hit me. So all good there." After striking out Lowe with his final pitch in the sixth, the big lefty cursed and yelled a nasty phrase in the Rays' direction. "I don't remember what I said," Sabathia answered. "Just excited about the game. We are playing for first place." The 38-year-old Sabathia got into heated exchanges with the Rays the previous two times he faced them -- once last year, once this season -- when he grew angry over pitches that either hit or went behind New York batters. In his final start last season, Sabathia was ejected at Tropicana Field and handed a five-game suspension for plunking Jesus Sucre after Andrew Kittredge of the Rays threw behind Austin Romine.
"CC's always got a little bit of an edge," Yankees (mlb championship rings for sale) manager Aaron Boone said. "He went out and set the tone really well to start off this series." Despite the latest verbal antics by Sabathia, who plans to retire after this season, there was no trouble on the field. "You know CC, he's been around a long time. He's a competitor," Meadows said. "He obviously wanted to take a shot there, but it is what it is, obviously. We've had beef back and forth, so it is part of the game."
TRAINER'S ROOM Rays: Yandy Diaz was back in the lineup at first base after leaving Wednesday's game in Miami with a sore left ankle. ... Guillermo Heredia (bruised right hand) started in center field. He was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but X-rays were negative. ... C Anthony Bemboom, who sprained his left knee Wednesday, was placed on the 10-day injured list and is expected to miss four to six weeks, Cash said. That opened a 25-man roster spot for catcher Erik Kratz, acquired Thursday from San Francisco. ... RHP Hunter Wood (sore right shoulder) struck out three in one inning of a rehab outing Thursday for Class A Charlotte and is "real close" to returning, Cash said. Yankees: LHP James Paxton (left knee inflammation) won't come off the injured list in time to start Sunday's series finale, Boone said. He is expected to throw another bullpen in the next few days and could return to the rotation on the upcoming road trip next week.

Merging with La Manga was a big decision
Following Torrevieja CC's merging with La Manga CC captain Kieran Wood speaks Exclusively to Andrew Atkinson ahead of the 2019 season and a T20 tournament. TORREVIEJA CC merged with La Manga CC in December, with La Manga resort and Torrevieja being the home grounds. "It is a big step, with the new facilities, new teammates, and new league formats in 2019," said Kieran. The merging with La Manga is a coup for Torrevieja, with the facilities on hand dubbed as world class - and the best in Europe. La Manga offers the best cricket facilities in Spain, including a European Cricket performance centre to help international and County teams, along with cricket clubs, universities and schools, assisting with development of players and coaches. It is regarded as the home of cricket, with the venue used regularly for ICC European tournaments. Two cricket ovals, 18 grass nets, five artificial nets, grass fielding area, and an artificial wicket keeping area are among world class facilities. Kieran said: "We made a big decision in merging with La Manga CC. Hopefully the move will attract new players and fans alike." With training sessions underway ahead of the new season, that showcases a T20 Tournament, Kieran said: "Torrevieja still stands as its own team and ground, but in the league we are a joint team." The club has taken huge strides in the last decade-plus: "Thirteen years ago the club was formed as San Fulgencio CC. Torrevieja came in with the offer to use their facilities -the athletics pitch - for use as our own ground," said Kieran. "In 2015 we won the Championship in ECCL2 (Cricket Espana County League division 2)," said Kieran. Looking ahead to the forthcoming campaign, under TorreManga CC, Kieran added: "Training for the 2019 season has commenced and friendlies are arranged. "A massive T20 tournament, in both April and October, is something to relish," said Kieran. The 2019 league fixtures have been announced and Kieran said: "The league fixtures begin in April, with the opening game against Sporting Alfas CC at Alfas d'Pi, ending in September, with 14 fixtures to play."
