COGFEE AU: CHAPTER 1 (NEXT PAGE)
The year is some ambiguous point before 2010. C.O.G.S .inc is a thriving business in a world that's getting steadily more reliant on it as resources needed to produce energy are thinning out. With COGS having a seemingly infinite pool of resources to shell out to the rest of the world, folks are starting to wonder- What in the world could be their secret?
That's not important to Chip Revvington, though. All he's trying to do is find a nice, quiet place to eat his lunch- That can't be that hard to do in a company building this big, right?
(Hi!!! This is an au I've been building up and starting to write for about a week now, and I'm SO EXCITED to finally start sharing it!! This is the first time I've really worked on a full blown comic before, and I've been having a Blast. Won't spoil anything, but I hope folks are interested and stay tuned in for more :-) YIPPEE)

made proper turnarounds for my ttcc cog oc neon filia-mont (a.k.a. "the anecgloater"!)
this was made for artfight, but i've also copy-pasted her info here under the readmore!
Neon Filia-Mont (Young)
Summary A chipper young go-getter whose noggin crackles with ideas! Thanks to her prodigious talents in business, song, and dance, Neon Filia-Mont (a.k.a. "The Anecgloater") became a Bossbot Manager at C.O.G.S. Inc. She's an inspiration to the children of Suits everywhere! At least, that’s what her mother and father will tell you. In reality, they left C.O.G.S. Inc. to make Neon a deliberate commodity for Suitopia's under-13 demographic. And their gamble paid off! Her merchandise flies off shelves, her show is always airing, and you can't set foot in Chicogo without seeing one of her billboards. And if that wasn't enough, rumor has it that a mass-produced "Anecgloater" model is in the works... With all her success at such a tender age, Neon must live a charmed life, right? Info Gender: Cisgender Girl (She/Her) Age: 12 Height: About as tall as a Micromanager Fun Facts
Neon is an excellent performer! She can go toe-to-toe with adult Suits in terms of charisma and stage presence.
Neon likes Craig Edgar Oilcan a lot, and spends most of her time with him at Bossbot HQ. Craig taught Neon how to golf, as well as other Bossbot hobbies (such as clay pigeon shooting, dining etiquette, and a handful of cue sports.)
Neon doesn't spend much time with her parents, aside from work and the occasional fine restaurant experience. But her parents do love her! They're just a bit... hands-off.
Neon's social circle is mostly adults. She has very few, if any, friends her age; since she never went to elementary school. A tutor home-schooled her for everything.
Neon Filia-Mont (Adult)
Summary A grouchy, bitter woman in her early thirties. Neon Filia-Mont (a.k.a. "The Anecgloater") is a Sellbot you really don't want to work for. When she's not snapping at her underlings, she's sitting outside Sellbot HQ's silos; guzzling cans of cogfee or smoking cheap cigars. Neon hates it when people talk about her days as a child star. Does her vitriol stem from a case of gifted kid burnout, or something else? She'll never tell. But given her distasteful behavior, whatever happened to her couldn't have been pleasant... Info Gender: Cisgender Woman (She/Her) Age: 31 Height: About as tall as a Mr. Hollywood. Fun Facts
Neon's parents have cut off all contact with her. They retired happily and wealthy, Meanwhile, Neon is barely making ends meet.
Neon's show is still running! However, the real Neon has been replaced by a high-end, mass-produced "Anecgloater" unit. Most of the public can't tell the difference.
Neon spends most of her money on fancy clothes. She enjoys dressing to impress, and takes excellent care of her suits and ties. Though some say that she keeps herself covered for a reason...
Neon has tried to transfer to the Bossbot Department several times, using Craig Edgar Oilcan as a business reference. Craig pretends she doesn't exist.
Neon loves hitting on Minglers; especially Janet Jennings (Allan Bravecog's secretary). They all hate her.
On the other hand, Neon is deeply protective of child Suits. If she sees one, she'll act like a big sister and make sure they're safe.
Neon's relationships with the canon Sellbot managers can be read here.

Thoughts on Flint's Previous Job
I've had thoughts about this since the beginning but i was a coward and never said anything, so the time has come to break my silence!!! Let's talk about Flint Bonpyre's previous work.
Flint used to be a member of the Fire Control Authority for 10 YEARS. This is the only employment history he has on record.
They mention this job in their personal statement as well, saying:
"hoping that my abilities could benefit C.O.G.S. Inc., and would be appreciated here in a way they weren't in my previous career. It's, um, apparently possible to burn down "too many" trees in a controlled burn...whoops..."
Flint feels that he wasn't appreciated at his old job, which, as a reminder, he worked at for 10 years straight. 10 years of feeling underappreciated.
They specialized in controlled burns but kept burning down too many trees. But the way they talk about it intrigues me. The use of the word "apparently" and the quotes around "too many" reads as if Flint doesn't actually believe they were in the wrong. They don't think there's a such thing as burning down "too many" trees. They wish they could burn as much as they like with no limitations, and is looking for some kind of position where this aggressive firepower will be praised rather than looked down on, hence "I'm hoping to just lend more firepower to help snuff out some of COGS Inc.'s more Toony problems".
Despite Flint thinking he was right, he still says "whoops" at the end of that statement. He's just used to apologizing whenever things go wrong instead of putting his foot down for what he believes. Flint doesn't want to correct what they did wrong in their previous position, because they don't think they did anything wrong. They just want a job that will encourage and appreciate their reckless arson with no limitations. COGS Inc. serves as that job, seeing as he is encouraged to burn as many toons as he pleases. His special Barnburner attack is also captioned as him "going all out", meaning he's pushing himself to his fullest potential there. He is flourishing in this job when he is able to burn toons.
I also think the amount of time Flint worked their old job plays a part here. Despite feeling underappreciated and never being encouraged to use their full potential, they stuck around for 10 years. I imagine, Flint being a doormat, simply put up with it all that time despite being unhappy.
Flint felt he'd been wronged by his previous job and sought out a position that would appreciate him.
While we're at it, we should speak on this bit of lore:
Despite the fact Flint likes setting things on fire, they panicked when they damaged company property. They're perfectly fine going all out on toons because they are actually ENCOURAGED to do so, but this is a different situation. The fact he started crying and was extremely apologetic shows how anxious they are about screwing up, especially when it might anger the company he works for. Not necessarily because he feels bad, but because it could get him in trouble. He could lose the respect and appreciation he's after. (this also reminds me of how he looks up to cosmo and wants respect from him yet has conflict with his satellites BUT thats another ramble for another day)
There's a huge possibility he picked up on this behavior due to his old job, where he was constantly screwing up and presumably being walked all over for a decade. This situation brought him back to that environment and it warranted an extreme reaction. Being underappreciated and potentially mistreated at your job for 10 years could definitely cause a high level of anxiety and doormat behavior. They've developed a habit to apologize constantly even if they don't feel bad in order to continue being respected by their higher-ups.
The day he walked out of that old job was probably a good one for him.

Have you ever considered a species swap? I.e., Perry as a Cog/Suit and Chip as a Toon?
I HAVEN'T THOUGHT MUCH ABOUT THIS but it's a fun concept!!
let it be known I need to think more about this but I have a basic idea I think...
Chip Grumblenose, a massive saltwater crocodile who probably has a job in assessing how many cogs and cog buildings are currently overtaking a playground's streets (hence the newstoon wear?). A recent incident involving ink thinner has left him a little... different than usual, just don't get him angry.
and... the Bunny Bonder, also known as Perseus Warren. A meek sort of suit that definitely doesn't belong anywhere in C.O.G.S. inc... ey've recently gone down a rabbit hole of information that no suit should be exposed to.

mr jinkins what does oilcan's son look like? is there a reason why he isn't working alongside his father, like bravecog's kid?
J: Here's a picture of us! He still lives in Suitopia, so I don't see him often... But I did hear he got a contract with C.O.G.S. Inc to do marches for them. Promotional stuff I guess, but hopefully I get to see him more!
P.s. This is my favorite moment with him!

(post ask update) Ok so i realized you made more post about greyed out than from what i saw from looking at a few tags. a general plot summery would still be nice tho.
Whew! I can try my best to explain the Grayed Out series (Or Greyed Out, since I keep changing it up here and there but there's no wrong or right way of saying it.)
Grayed Out! Or just "The Grayed Toons" is a prequel to my other side series called "Defect", which is basically a story of how a cog becomes a toonbot and tries to regain memories she lost during her younger years.
Unfortunately, I lost a HUGE chunk of page info due to my hard drive dying on me so a few pages is lost media. Defeated, I placed this comic on the back burner and worked on Grayed Out!
Grayed Out ventures into the other perspective of a faction switch out, mainly involving the Grayed Toons Kat, Ruff, and Snaps. This is lead on by a head leader named Richard Hendrick Clark, better known as Reality Check, a Boardbot Manager who wishes to turn toons into obedient peons for C.O.G.S Inc.
Grayed Out explains the practices of dubious incidents linked to Reality Check, and brings out a spur involving the character Rayne Velvetenne, who eventually turns into a Toonbot named Red in "Defect". Reality Check works as a side henchman and engineer for Robert Cyger, who he secretly despises. The Grayed Toons are Reality Check's goons who he sends out to try and push toons out of homes and playgrounds throughout their story. Most of this involves robberies, bullying, and even property damages.
With this rotten behavior persisting in the series, this brings in the Toon Resistance Force involved to discover the dark side of C.O.G.S Inc.
Furthermore, Grayed Out is also a big metaphor over how modern childhood things are being "soiled" and making it difficult for kids to be kids. In a way, this plays a role of how society "force ages" the mental states of kids in today's modern world. This involves exposing vulgar themes, condoning the normalization of drugs and other forms of violence being casually placed in media without monetization, and child neglect. It's a whole shtick I've spit-balled into the series, which will be a consistent role in the story in terms of metaphors.
I hope to persist on the story for as long as I can! I just pray I don't lose a good chunk of stuff like I did with Defect. At least we get to see Ciao AI in "Defect".
#my art#toontown corporate clash#toontown#ocs#asks#anon#reality check#red velvetenne#kat skratch#ruff#snaps howl#grayed out!#long post#THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME AN EXCUSE TO ELABORATE THIS AT SOME POINT I needed to honestly

I just realized that C.O.G.S inc reminds me of the great diamond authority from steven universe. between having 4 main departments ran by 4 leaders, being overly orderly, and trying to take over the main characters's land.
I see what you're going for... you could apply that to the original Toontown Cogs, though the concept of "C.O.G.S. Inc." the company is a Clash-exclusive idea, and Clash has 5 departments :^]
The thought of Clash's White Diamond equivalent being an angry 3-foot-tall portly middle-aged robot is funny, though
