Ursa had heard it through the grape vine that a bounty hunter had come crawling into town. The old gunslinger knew there was still a bounty on his head but in the years that had passed, he had hoped it would just go away. If it was any other week, he might have just up and left town for another job until the heat died down but with the murder's he knew it would look suspicious. While he didn't know who the bounty hunter after, it was always good to be cautious until he found out.

He had been able to avoid him for a few days before they came face to face in the streets. He greeted him with a tip of his hat. It was better to be polite then reach straight for his gun like his fingers itched to. "You lost, sir? I can point you in the right direction if you need it," he asked.

Edgar blinked, though in hindsight he should have expected this. Sen reminded him a lot of Art, actually. "Uh," he glanced down at the sidewalk. "Oh, bag of candy, you were certainly delicious and tantalizing, and I hope that the Great Sweet Beyond is everything you hoped it would be."

With that he crouched down and began to collect the bag, along with the scattered candy. "We should find a rubbish bin though. I'd hate for a stray cat to get sick."

One of their eyes peeked open, looking to see if there was a hint of insincerity on Edgars face. As usual none could be found so they sighed and sat up. "These terms are amenable and this piece of sidewalk need no longer serve as my grave." They stood up, but rather than walk off they stood over the bag of spilled sweets. "We are gathered here today to remember this lost bag of treats. Would anyone like to say a few words?" They looked expectantly at Edgar.

Ways of being a father. (Kengan dads & child!reader)

I wrote this almost a year ago, originally with Blue Lock characters assigned. But I thought a lot about assigning Kengan characters so here we go! The quotes are all translated from Alligatoah's song Nicht adoptiert. Also! The song may originally be about being born into a family and not being adopted, but reader can very much be seen as an adopted child in this if that's what you prefer!

He went into fatherhood completely without knowing what to expect. It all came a bit out of sudden for him, and he was too anxious to prepare himself properly. But when he held you in his arms for the first time, he knew he'd figure it out just fine.

As careful as he is with you, he knows at some point he'll do something wrong. He's perfectly aware of how he won't always be the perfect father, but he's still trying his best.

Being his child also means being his rival - in a fun way. If there's something to compete in, there will be playful competition. Board games, soccer in the backyard and running random races when you're just walking somewhere together - things like that.

He was more of an immature person before, but he knows after your birth he has to become more serious as a father - at least that's what society expects from him.

At first, knowing he'll be a father soon felt so unreal to him. But the closer the day gets, the more the realization sets in. But that realization makes him nervous, so he's putting extra effort into learning how to be the best father he can be. And even though he doesn't want to be "like the other dads", he finds himself following every cliché possible.

He doesn't care how much of a good or bad student you are, but he knows you'll have to pass school somehow. As much as he doesn't care about your grades, he pretends as if he does to keep you encouraged. But of course you'll get praise for your hard work when you get good grades.

Having Eun-Ji as a trip sitter wasn't terrible honestly. Sen often felt the urge to remind him that despite their general immature demeanor they were an adult who could take care of themselves. Still, it was nice to have someone look after them, especially on the occasions they opted for White Rabbit and not Joyburst. "Dude, like the mantis shrimp? They can see a whole bunch of colors that we aren't even able to perceive. They have 9 more photoreceptors than us. They can see UV!!" Sen rambled excitedly waving their arms in all directions. "And I would worry about the limitations of biochemistry but with a tonic... there's like this element of magic that I haven't been able to quantify but if I could tune it just right.... SHRIMP COLORS!" They ended their speech and waited to hear what he thought. He was a man of science after all.
