Listen, I've been on a journey. I feel a bit like an unintentional fandom archaeologist now.

#star trek#voy#c/p#SERIOUSLY THOUGH#I've read a TON of fic with different ships#to try and find some good ol' fashioned Tom Paris whump#and apparently Back In The Day#C/P was the big slash ship of Voyager#and I KEPT seeing Chakotay call Tom “poocuh”#and I thought maybe it was a fandom thing that just caught on#amongst different writers who would talk on blogs and stuff???#anyways it was to my surprise when I started reading the novelisation of “Caretaker”#only to see it in the novel#so of course I HAD to track down the original episode script#(many thanks to you lovely tumblr folks)#and lo and behold there it was#it's ironic though#considering I've seen multiple fics have “poocuh” described as being “beloved” or something similar#but in context when Chakotay says it#he is OBVIOUSLY spouting some kind of insult at Tom#oh the wild way the world of fandom works#funny that it didn't end up in the actual episode though
