She waits for the girl who was clearly asking Mike out to walk away before she smacks him in the arm. "Wheeler, what was that?"

She can't see him, but she knows that he is making that open-mouthed offended face he does when he shoots back a "What? What was that for?"

"You totally blew that girl off."

"Okay?" The confusion is evident in his voice and she can hear him rubbing his arm. Baby. She barely touched him.

"Haven't you been complaining that you miss having a girlfriend?"

"That's not exactly how I remember that conversation going."

Max drops an elbow on the lunch table and rests her head against her hand. "Whatever. My point is, why'd you say no? She was so out of your league too."

"You couldn't even see her!"

Max smirks. "Mike, every girl is out of your league."

It's always fun when a story idea just randomly plops into your mind and you feel compelled to write it. That happened with this little Byler fanfic yesterday. As today is the Fourth of July and that's a major theme of this story, I raced against time to write this one-shot and I'm excited to share it with you!

Hey guys! I started writing stories a long time ago, but only a few years ago I decided to start share my art with others.

This is my first fanfic here. It's about stranger things and include some of my thoughts about Mike and Will. It's actually a little messy but I realy like it.

The name of our story

Six months after leaving Hawkins, Will and El are still struggling to adjust to life in Lenora. Will's burgeoning powers are erratic and becoming less manageable, and El's still have yet to return since they vanished at Starcourt, leaving both of them off-balance in their new lives. They both hope Mike's visit over spring break might provide a break from their problems, but that isn't exactly straightforward, either.

What neither of them knows is that the darkness is once again sweeping through Indiana, putting their friends in terrible danger, and with the two of them across the country, it's a race against time to save Hawkins—and Max.
