Ultramarine's Ridibooks Guide
A (hopefully) simple guide to how to use Ridibooks!
What is Ridibooks? Ridibooks is a website where you can read all kinds of webtoons, novels, and books in Korean. It also has an app (for mobile and PC)! Ridibooks has the advange compared to other similar platforms such as Kakao and Naver of not being region-locked, so it might be your only option to read some manhwas in Korean.
Is the site safe? Yep! It's one of the major manhwa platforms, and I've used it many times.
How do I use it? Firstly, you have to make an account (top-right corner of your screen, 👤 icon). I recommend using Chrome or other browsers with a MTL function, so the page is easier for you to navigate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buying manhwas and novels. I'll use WMMAP as an example! Search 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 (WMMAP in Korean). You'll see you have 4 options. Buying the manhwa per chapter (200 won for rental, 500 won for purchase), buying the manhwa per volume (7,500 won each), buying the novel per volume (2,310 won for rental, 3,300 won for purchase), and buying the novel per chapter (100 won each).
Let's say we want to buy the manhwa per chapter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once you click on that option for purchase, you'll see that the site gives you two options, renting a chapter (200 won) or purchasing a chapter (500 won). Choose accordingly to what you want, but be aware that the site checks the rental option by default! So you have to go to the "keep it" tab if you want to buy it.
Also, consider that WMMAP's chapters can be unlocked for free (1 each day, available to read for 3 days), excluding the last 10 chapters.
Tumblr media
Ridi Cash. As most manhwa platforms, Ridibooks has its own currency, Ridi Cash (much like Tapas' ink or Tappytoon's points), that you need to buy to then purchase manhwas or novels. It's worth almost the same as won, but with a 3% accumulation rate. Selecting the "Ridi Cash" option in your user profile will allow you to recharge the currency.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There, you can choose how much you want to charge. It's likely that the only payment method available to you is an overseas credit card (any should work), so you'll have to check that box (also remember to check the purchase confirmation!).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, you just write your credit card information, and you should be ready to buy your favorite manhwa or novel! They'll be available for you to read in your library (top-right corner of your screen, 📚 icon).

Excuse me, (I don't know if this sounds harsh and I'm sorry if it is), I wanna ask if you're sharing s class tl for free? Thanks!
No worries! Yes, it's completely free.* The only thing I ask for is an email address you can log into, so that I can enable access for that specific account and send you the access link.
* Of course, those of you who are able to buy the raws, I ask that you please do so in order to support Geunseo, who gave us the novel in the first place. Here are links to the novel on various sites—both the individual chapters and the E-book versions that compile 25 chapters each with the occasional extra, where they're available:
Ridibooks: individual chapters, E-books
Munpia
Naver Series: chapters, E-books
Kakao Page: chapters, E-books

At the moment, the only way to read the sidestory is to purchase the Korean webnovel & provide proof to have access to the English translation.

Oh my gosh!! I'm so excited for you about your trip! I know you won't see this until you get back but I hope it was wonderful :) I'm actually participating in a study abroad to south korea for two weeks in the summer - any tips or recommendations would be so greatly appreciated!
It was wonderful ! Everything I hoped for and more. It made me want to go back as soon as possible.
I hope your trip will be as good as mine. I don't know if you'll stay in Seoul or go to other smaller cities like I did but here are a few things that might be useful to know, from my limited experience there.
A few apps that can be really helpful :
Naver Map : Google maps isn't the best in South Korea so to go around easily, you should download Naver map.
Papago : if you go outside of Seoul, people often don't or barely speak English. So if like me you only know a few words in Korean, you should have this app to communicate easily.
Kakao T : even though there is an extensive transportation system in South Korea, sometimes talking the taxi (which isn't that expensive) is easier. For that, download Kakao T ! If you're in Seoul, be careful, the traffic can be horrible.
Kakao Talk : almost everyone communicate using Kakao Talk so if you want to interact with people and make friends, having a kakao talk account is a must.
A few things I would recommend :
Try all sorts of Korean food, it's so delicious and so cheap (at least compared to where I'm from). If you go outside of Seoul, try to know the local specialties. If you have a local with you, he can point you in the direction of the good stuff, often less touristy. But be careful of the spice level !
Take a break at a coffee shop. There are so many of them everywhere and they're often really nice.
Cars WON'T STOP for you. Be careful when you cross the streets, people drive fast and don't care.
Have a T Money card with you ! This will allow you to travel freely by bus or metro. You can buy one and recharge it at any convenience store and it works in all of South Korea! Also bus driver don't have time to waist so enter fast and get out fast. Never sit in a spot reserved for old or pregnant people and hang on if you're not seated, the ride can sometime be a little rough.
Be sure to have enough cash on you. My card was supposed to work but I had problems with it in lots of places.
If you are in Seoul for your whole stay, try to go elsewhere, even for just a week end. I would recommend Gyeongju, this place was magical.
And lastly have fun and enjoy !
This was a bit long but I hope it can be even just a little bit useful !

Hi there! I was wondering if you could please help me out. I am reading from Yonder, but I am also attempting to translate some of the later chapters (445+) on my own with my limited Korean skills. Where can I access the raws of the originals or perhaps a written summary for each chapter in English? Thank you in advance!
Hi! You can find them on the Series App.
1. Create a Naver account. You’ll need a phone number and an email address.
2. Download the Naver Series App (enter using your Naver account).
Tumblr media
3. Earn cookies to download every chapter. See the marked item? You need to click on there and participate on events that will award you with cookies.
Tumblr media
4. Download the chapters with the cookies you have. You need 3 cookies to buy a chapter, but you only need 1 cookie to rent.
I hope this mini guide will be of help. There are other ways to earn cookies, but the one I mentioned is the easiest to understand.

Hello! I am sorry for the ask, but do you have to make a naver account to purchase the orv side stories? I just want to purchase them without all the complicated steps :'D I don't know Korean so navigating the sites is a real pain
Also! Are you still ongoing with the translations? I'm not sure how many chapters there are out there and how many have already been translated :')
you can sign up on munpia with just a google account, and no verification is required to buy currency (paypal is probably the easiest).
i am still working on translations, just taking a short break currently. i have up to episode 22 translated currently
