Thank you for your reply!
By your answer, I guess you aren't Jewish.
Oh, it's gonna be long.
Short:
This is very much NOT the definition of Zionism.
Herzel was very secular.
"God's redemption plan" - you're Christian, aren't you. Please stop projecting your cultural obsession.
Judaism, Palestine, Yisrael (word origins)
Longer:
Defining
See, the problem is "I define X as..." Without being part of X. This is problematic.
Can you imagine?
"I define feminism as the belief that women should have rights, and only women."
"I define the gay movement as the belief that people should be able to fuck in public and molest children"
Can you see how problematic it is to define something by what haters say about it?
Zionism
Theodore Herzel was highly affected by the Dreyfus trial, which he witnessed as a journalist. That made him realise that both the idea of emancipation (autonomous government under a larger Goy government) is not the solution. That the only way Jews would actually be save would be to be to have a Jewish self-govern state.
This come along with the Hibat Zion movement, that was mostly eastern Europe (Russia kingdom) and started 1881-82, as a result of the mass Pogroms (Sufot Banegev) and the May Laws.
"Zion" is one of the ancient names of Eretz Yisrael (and partly for Jerusalem).
Jews and Eretz Yisrael
The longing for Eretz Yisrael (the land of Yisrael, as in our ancestor) is as old as the exiles - you can see the Sigd, a holly day still held by the Beta Yisrael community (from Ethiopia) and had been for the last 2,500 years, as they didn't return after the 70-year/first exile.
Or 2,000 years for the rest, if you count from the second (Roman) exile. And Eretz Yisrael has always been part of our culture and hopes and prayers. We pray 3 times a day (each contains a spesific part about going back to Jerusalem). We say Bracha, a blessing, before and after every time we eat.
Our 3 main holidays, were used to be celebrated in Beyt Hamikdash. We still remember how it was. We still pray to do it again.
We mourn every year about what happened. We have a day in which we fast for 25 hours and cry and mourn. Which is at the end of 3 weeks of grief.
Erezt Yisrael, by any other name, has been in the Jewish DNA.
And there have always been Jews in Israel. 4 communities are famous for having over 2,000 years of unstopped Jewish community: Zfad, Tiberias, Jerusalem, and Hebron (the latter's Jewish community had been murdered in the pogrom of 1929. And since then, no Jews lived there - until the new Jewish community, 1979s, which people now call "colonizers". Bc they... uh... Are Jews who bought back houses originally owned by jews. No I'm not bitter at all.
"But there weren't jews in Israel -"
I mean there were??
But also.
The low number was highly affected by things like pogroms (Zfad, for example, had 4 massive ones during 1538-1929. And that's only what I have memorized). The Jewish community of Gaza City has been exiled 3 times 1830s-1929 (when they didn't return). Restrictions on immigration were put in place - ONLY for jews btw, in 1882.
(Also restrictions on Jewish immigration in the USA. I wonder why. Surely had nothing to do with other things that happened in 1881-2 that may cause many jews to consider immigration. )
Oh, we were murdered and exiled so so many times.
~
Kahanizm (isn't Zionism)
Any "only jews should live in Israel" opinion is a minority so small that. Like.
It's part of Kahanizm. Just to explain, the political party mostly failed to reach minimal votes in the elections (in Israel, the coalition is combined of multiple parties) and was at some point forbidden for running by the high court. Kahana has been imprisoned in both Israel and USA for his actions. This is so un-spread, that even most of far-right in Israel would disagree with him. Do you understand now?
Judaism:
Jews are called Jews in english (and some other languages) bc it comes from "Judaism" which come from "Judea" aka Mamlechet Yehudah (Kingdom of Judea), the southern kingdom during the 2 kingdoms era, and the last Hebrew kingdom to fall. That what we were named by the Romans -
But not only. You can see it since the first exile.
In the Book of Esther, with Mordechai ("Mordechai ben Shim'i ben Kish... Ish Yemini" (from the tribe of Binyamin). But also "Mordechai Ha'Yehudi" - which implies it refers to the place he was exiled from (Yehuda).
Palestine:
While we're at it, do you know what's the origin of the name?
The Romans (AKA colonists) has re-named the area after the great Jewish rebellion in the 1st century CE.
They named it after the Plishtim, that were big enemies of the jews, as a tactic of humiliation. Also known as "goyey hayam" (the sea people/invaders) who came from Greece.
(They also renamed our holly city as "Ilya Kapitolina", and salted the land. They also killed almost everyone in it, and enslaved most of the others. They also destroyed our Temple, Beyt Hamikdash.)
Also, "Palestine" has never been a sovereign country? I'm sort of confused why ppl keep it on.
Modern-day Israel is almost exactly in the borders of ancient kingdom of Israel.

I loved AKATSUKI, I really did. Their passion had my heart. The names Keito, Kuro, and Souma felt like a warm embrace. But what Happy Elements did is unforgivable. I cannot support them anymore. Farewell Enstars, it was an interesting ride.
If anyone's is interested, DM me for the link to a Google Drive containing all of AKATSUKI's discography from 2015 - 2024. Feel free to save. Continue the boycott.
This includes:
full discography
album cover photos
complete credit and labelling of names
LONG RANT AHEAD! (mentions of imperialism, w@r, abus3, d3ath, SA, and r@cism are ahead. read at your own risk!)
I got into Enstars because of Umehara Yuichiro (Keito's VA) and of course, that automatically made me support AKATSUKI. However, going into their stories and getting to know each character, I really fell in love with them. I loved their songs, I loved what they represent.
When Happy Elements announced that Ibuki was joining, I was confused. 10 years of bond was wasted, just like that. Upon further research, I became disgusted at what the company implicated with Ibuki's arrival. It meant erasing his identity as part of an indigenous minority group to be assimilated to the the culture of his colonizers. It hurt me, not just personally, but it felt like I was struck with intergenerational trauma. My heart, that was once embraced by the love I have for Keito, Kuro, and Souma, suddenly felt like it was locked in a chokehold. Ibuki Taki did not deserve this treatment. Happy Elements shouldn't have made a character with an indigenous background if they're only capable of disrespecting and trashing on their culture. Ibuki Taki should have shined on his own.
Again, Ibuki Taki and Chiaki Kobayashi (Ibuki VA) doesn't deserve this.
See, I came from a country where Imperial Japan invaded, colonized, abused, tortured my ancestors. They came to destroy our culture, violate our people, and for what? For the assimilation of culture—they said. But was it? While they spread their propaganda and taught their culture and language, they also belittled, discriminated, t0rtured, and s3xually vi0l@ted our people because they were r@cist and x3nophobic. It's not surprising that a lot of them are like this until now (not generalizing every Japanese again). Our blood was deemed "below" them despite being their fellow human. Men, women, and children alike, they did not choose. And until now, they haven't apologized to those countries they ruined and even demanded to take down statues that commemorated the heroes and their suffering of those horrific years. Disgusting; revolting, truly.
My grandmother's father was taken by the Japanese soldiers. He was t0rtured and hung to d3ath inside a prison filled with decaying corpses. Until a flood that decimated that underground prison, their bodies would not have been found. Right now, their bodies lay at a mass grave, honored but unnamed. My grandmother's mother di3d in the bombings and she was forced to retrieve her body, clean it, dress it up, and bury it. My grandmother was only 9 years old when that war happened. She hid in between the crevices of thick stone walls that were constantly bombed. She told me, everyday she would wonder if she'll get crushed inside these stones soon. Everyday, she feared not satisfying a Japanese soldier by mere bow and will be taken into a den where women were captured, abus3d, and vi0lated day and night, again and again. For days at a time, she hid inside barrels just to retrieve food for her and her younger siblings' survival. She was orphaned and captured by the Japanese soldiers, fed propaganda, and forcibly taught their culture, and yet, her spirit remained strong, at such young age. If not for my ancestors, then at least, for her.
Despite AKATSUKI's Yamato-themed concept, I supported them. What AKATSUKI represented was not Imperial Japan, not the Meiji Period and onwards. AKATSUKI celebrated tradition and culture through the modern arts. I loved how they incorporated these concepts. Although they had their hiccups along the way (i.e. the Dance of Swords, Imperial-themed costume), I still supported them. I love what each member represented, especially Keito's integrity and devotion. But what they did with Ibuki's introduction, the absolute fuck up of Keito's character, and now, the rerecording of the songs, and the new music videos? My heart just shattered. The Rising Sun flag of Japan is a symbol of w@r, bloodshed, and trauma for the generations of people they vi0lated, and to symbolize that in Hyakka Ryouran's new MV? A beautiful song about a beautiful spring? Absolutely disgusting. They cannot have my support anymore.
Keito's entire character was trashed. His ambitions and devotion were forgotten. The words he uttered are not the words he will say; the actions he did are absolutely acts of betrayal. He will never do that to Kuro and Souma. Never. All of this bullshit, and for what? R@cist propaganda? Furthermore, Souma looked utterly out of character. He's angry and devastated—that's not him. He is hopeful and absolutely elegant. Was killing your beloved characters worth it? Shut the fuck up, Happy Elements. You will never witness the moment where their songs reaches the fucking Billboard Top 10 ever again. This is not just outrage but, absolute tragedy.
I will still love AKATSUKI, but the version where there's only three of them. I don't want to engage in content about the new AKATSUKI because it will only taint my precious memories of the three members. It really hurts. I feel like crying. Although, if I happen to upload fanfiction content about AKATSUKI in the future, it will absolutely be canon divergence because Happy Elements is just a fucking untouchable slop that even bacteria wouldn't touch.

if usamericans are excited about the concept of anti-colonialism in other countries oooh boy do i have some exciting news for you...you can practice decolonization right here at home!
#cupid.txt#im very glad we're anti colonialism dont get me wrong and solidarity with all indigenous peoples suffering under colonialism#but i sometimes wonder if kids-and others who just dont know about history i guess- know that their passion can#be used where they live as well#like we're still in a colonized country we're still living with the history of genocide and mass cultural upheaval#if you read anything about how the land and peoples here were treated during colonial times--it was apocalyptic in nature#please care about the history of the land you live on

this might be a cold take I don't really know, but being on the Strip in FNV always has me torn between "gambling is so cool" and "every single person who lives directly on the strip went through forced assimilation by Mr. house"
Benny is a victim of colonization, I feel bad for the guy
#☢️#☢️think about it#all of the major factions (except yesman) do colonization#House is the only one that goes the assimilation route with the 3 Families#ok well he did threaten people with mass murder too but still#I do like to make jokes about House essentially forcing people to roleplay for his Las Vegas fixation#but to be serious about it he is forcing people to essentially act a culture they were violently forced into#and I never really see people talk about that ?#except that one person I saw mention it sorta#to the person who draws all the good benny x arcade art im talking about you#fallout#fallout new vegas#fnv#benny gecko

I got curious and so was doing some research on the etimology of the names of states and biomes in Brazil, and apparently most of it is named after words in the languages of the native peoples! Examples:
Caatinga comes from Tupi-Guarani: Ka'a (vegetation) + Tinga (white, clear)
Roraima comes from Ianomâmi: roro or rora (green) + ímã (mountain).
Acre comes from Apurinãs word aquiri, which means River of Alligators.
Pará comes from Tupi-Guarani pa'ra, which means Sea River, because the river was so wide it looked like the sea.
Like, most of the states whose names aren't actually words in Portuguese (for example, Rio De Janeiro (January River (?)) come from Tupi-Guarani, and I think that's neat
#good luck pronouncing the names in your head! it's all in portuguese. get your lazy ass up and put in on the translator :T#the other tribes deserve more recognition tho#like for real all these people deserve more for the shit they were put through during colonization#The dudes in ugly clothing just came in turned people christian raped the women killed a lot of people and then exploited everyone#portugal got a major L later on because they stole the gold and exported a lot of stuff and nowadays brazil is richer than them#no hate on portuguese people. i hate th ehistorical figures who were mass rapists+murderers but the people who are alive today are chill#daily reminder that wiping out cultures and religions that don't align with your own is wrong and will make future anthropologists hate you#Orion's yap sessions <3#brazil#oh no am i going to have a hyperfixation on the languages of the native people? Duolingo you better add Tupi-Guarani imma eat that shit up

Keep seeing the videos from Gaza. Blood-curdling, unimaginable horror. Death toll currently at 830. Displaced 187,500, 4000 injured, some of them maimed for life. Hospitals at capacity with no medical aid able to come through. They're now washing injuries with soap because there's no antiseptic.
They're murdering them in cold blood while the world watches.
Westerners, watch the news footage. Remember that half of Gaza is children under 15. That they've not only blockaded them from all sides but they're bombing the Egypt border crossing too. Understand this is what they did in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that your people watched and cheered. Know that this is happening with the full support and aid of your governments and leaders. This is a massacre. This is genocide. And you're watching it happen live.
If any of you murderous freaks still think any of this is justified I hope from the bottom of my heart that your own house falls on top of you.
#my hands are still cold from seeing that#heart breaking in half#remembering this is exactly what we did to the Tamils#i want Biden apologists and people circulating posts about how great he is to drop dead#arabs‚ palestinians‚ all the Middle Eastern refugees reliving their horrors through the footage rn—#i'm sorry. i'm so goddamn sorry#israel is a terrorist state#free palestine#america is a terrorist state#tw genocide#war crimes#tw mass murder#tw violence#knee of huss#colonization#current events

time is a flat circle where we watch a country go to another country and randomly will civilians because "what if they're the enemies haha we totally aren't clearing people out to steal their land" etc and we all go "wow thats fucking messed up, good thing it won't happen again!" and then the exact same thing happens right now and the same people somehow are just incapable of accepting that fact that we are living through history and letting the thing we said wont happen again fucking happen again.
#the same ideologies causing all the pain back then are still causing pain now.#you need to realise any retaliation no matter the initial cause that causes mass civilian death is historically regarded as a bad thing#maybe some natives attack the white people coming into their land? yeah lets genocide them.#vietnamese conflict that america barges in on because it has a huge fucking head about itself?#lets kill all the vietnamese villagers we see because anyone could be the enemy.#oh and if they fight back because theyre enraged about the destruction of their home and murder of their families? proof that we were right.#we should bomb them and kill them and gas them. all for anti communism!#their fault for fighting back!#extremists drive two planes into a building? well we just gotta go can start fucking shooting every arab civilian we see and start a war.#because its obviously their fucking fault.#oh and yeah lets drop a nuclear bomb on japan because theyre not surrendering fast enough. on all those civilians.#oh can the car bombings in northern ireland and stuff? yeah lets just go to a stadium full of people that just wanted to watch football-#-and start shooting.#<--actions that have been repeatedly performed forever and ever#<--and all of them only go down well with insane people who think deporting all immigrants or mandatory school gennital checks a good thing#warfare is fucking stupid and so is colonization. you have too little faith in the common person and too much in power hungry governments#dROOLING AT OIL. VIBRATING AND ROCK HARD FOR THAT SWEET FOREIGN OIL AND LAND. COMPANIES GIDDY WITH THE PROSPECT OF KILLING NATIVES.

blocking so many people tonight because how the hell do you post this without an ounce of self shame? 'there are people out there who are just as scared as you are' are you including the people your candidate has funded a genocide against? are you including the people Israel targets and opresses with the US regularly funding its crimes against humanity? the people who cant just go have a snack and talk to their friends because they watch their friends be murdered and theyre facing starvation? are you including the people you called the genocide of as a necessary sacrifice and something thats a 'lesser evil'? do you take into account their fear and trauma for a year of nonstop bombings, drones, missiles, shootings, invasions, etc?
'the world is going to be tense' its already fucking tense, you people just dont give a shit about anyone that isnt white or cant play into your ultimate victim complex to excuse your eager participation in genocide. you cant call for people to just 'survive' when you helped put a heavy asterisk next to who exactly expected to stay living if your war criminal wins.
[GO DONATE TO DOCTOR MOATH]
#also already seen so many people fucking sprouting out their manifest destiny bullshit without second thought over red states#without acknowledgement of the largely Black population in the deep south and the queer people that live in these areas#because it was never about protecting POC or queer people. it was about protecting their comfort in being able to ignore the people in thes#states that they say tarnish and impose dangers against the 'greater populace'#(because the rest of this country is soooo great and admirable and safe for marginalized communities of course.)#like i always think of how white and democratic populations support for BLM was LOWER than before george floyd's murder only a year later#liberals rely on POC (especially Black people) to vote blue and if a state is red theyre the first to be blamed#and then told they deserve the ongoing oppression and targeted abuse they face for not 'showing up'#you use their life and the fact theyre opressed to advocate for a 'lesser evil' and that their lives are at risk#and when Black or Palestinian or Asian or Indigenous or Hispanic or any other POC group tells you theyre still being fucking opressed#you call them psyops or that they'll be to blame if ppl dont vote blue because they 'complained' or wasnt compliant in you using their live#as a political tool. you scream protect trans bodies for a candidate that made no promises to provide protection#and you blame queer people in red states for staying there and that theyre willing victims#you call a genocide a lesser evil. you looked at it and DEFENDED the funding of it saying at least its not 'cheeto man' paying billions#for the murder and terrorism against Arab communities and countries.#there was mass surveillance against Palestinians here. theres border walls and sieges and torture here.#youre a colonizer and supporter of imperialism while using progressive language and softening the role you participated in in advocating fo#an administration thats currently commiting genocide and ongoing colonization#youre fucking tense while sitting in bed with a thumb up your ass because the opressor you supported might lose.#you havent even waited for results to blame and harass the communities and people in areas that mostly have targets on their back#regardless of who's the president or not#you dont care about anyone but saving your own damn back and youre willing to turn it against other opressed people#the second youre given a chance.

anyway i know people don't like to hear it because of the whole 'sic semper tyrannus' vibe of it all but the modern day equivalent of the ides of march would be if all those senators who've been in office since the 50s and were getting busted for insider trading in 2020 got together and stabbed bernie sanders to death in the capitol rotunda. i'm not even kidding.
#personal#ides of march#like let's be clear this wasn't the oppressed masses rising up against a tyrant#it was a bunch of aristocratic nepo babies who were the wealthiest and most elite of roman society#deciding that they didn't like This One Guy's Ambition and deciding to perform extrajudicial murder#and then utterly failing to plan for after that#given that this guy had a reputation as being 'a man of the people' and created a lot of infrastructure to help the plebes and the masses#so you know the actual people and not just pseudo-royalty of the time were really fucking pissed about the whole thing#and because the conspirators were apparently fucking DUMB they didn't have contingencies and basically hastened along roman autocracy#by thrusting the infinitely more ruthless and bloodthirsty octavian into power during a time that demanded ruthlessness#like caesar was a tyrant in the sense that he went around the countries that weren't his conquering and killing and colonizing#but like the senate didn't give a shit about any actual atrocities he might have committed against other peoples as he subjugated them#cuz they were all for that subjugation!#their grievances were just the most upper echelons of society deciding they knew best and being dumbasses all the while#sorry to burst any bubbles#(also very funny that sic semper tyrannus gets thrown around a lot as a thing for pro ides people)#(cuz the most famous moment where someone said that was when pathetic racist asshole john wilkes booth said it after shooting lincoln)#so you know. shrug dot emoji on that too

This is just a map of New England (minus Connecticut the fake New England state)
#text post#new england#source: boston 25 news website: believe it or not massachusetts is not the most irish state new study finds#18.9% of mass residents have irish ancestry#really this is not surprising at all. massachusetts is the most population-dense state by far with the most immigrants#and new hampshire? ask anyone where their family lived before they came to new hampshire. it was massachusetts#new hampshire is full of ethnically irish and italian and polish catholics whose families have been here long enough#to assimilate and move to the suburbs and become xenophobic and anti-immigrant.#literally bothers me so much when ppl named molly o'flannigan and patrick sullivan talk shit about dorchester lawrence etc#and other immigrant-dense areas in new england. i'm like baby your grandparents lived there#well or at least that's my experience#new england still does have a shocking amount of wasps whose families have been here since the fuckin mayflower#i dont have a direct link to that in my own family but it's very strange how that is taught to new england children as like#'our' heritage in schools. plymouth plantation and the puritans and all that. you're weirdly made to identify w it#and like as time goes on#just factually that only represents the population of ppl who live and are raised here less and less.#not to mention it does nothing to address DIVERSITY in the area. but i suppose there's like a local mythos#we have to teach a story to children and it has to be a 'we' story and that story has to be pilgrims#bc the story has to start at colonization and not expand after that. thats too complex. happy thanksgiving?#new england white people have a habit of thinking theyre irish catholic anglo-protestant settlers and they built this country#they dont parse out their own identity at all and they certainly don't want to have to consider other ppl's.#wow i didnt mean this to turn into a culture-critical rant im sure most of my followers arent even from here so idk what this means 2 u guy#happy saint patrick's day!

congrats to everyone that is still following me after I saw I had way too many followers to not have at least one antisemitic person following me, the fact that you don't think I murder children for fun is truly a comfort
#I wish this was /s but no genuinely#Had 22 followers. Every time I reach past 20 at least one is antisemitic#I now have 15 followers#thanks for not hating me for being born in a country once btw#Like listen I don't mind if you mass reblog propal stuff. That's good#Just please make sure it's not the posts that talk about how israelis are all evil and want to murder everyone#And maybe reblog. One post about how there's a lot of antisemitism in propal spaces#And how you don't want to make the jews on your blog scared or uncomfortable over that#Just one post. It doesn't have to be praising israel bc fuck knows I hate our current government so much#But I see posts about how secular jews in israel are actually european colonizers roleplaying#And I think about how 100 years ago my great grandparents moved here#And how I'm genuinely scared for my sister who is visiting friends in the uk in a month#And how I'm scared for myself if I ever leave this country again#Because apparently me not wanting to die is controversial in all my political spaces#Except for pro israelis leftist spaces#And that's really sad#That I don't feel safe with yall anymore#Idk#I once joined a mcytblr discord server#The first day I'm there someone asks to “censor i/p” and gets the response “just don't look at the vent channel”#So. I looked.#Not a single person in that server cared enough to say “but it's not all israelis” at the people raving about i/p#Like people out there saying I on a personal level would be happy to murder people because of where I was born#I still get squirmy killing spiders that have rather painful bites. I could never hurt another human on purpose#And they just kept agreeing with each other in the most echo-chamber-y way#So. I left that server#And now I barely do mcyt fandom stuff because I'm scared of getting attention#I don't want attention on my blog or on me as a person#Because at least one in 20 followers will cheer if I get murdered#And that's fucking heartbreaking

it's almost like the only option is dividing things further black and white then just going hardcore to an extreme.
like.
i spent all day yesterday cutting off friends and blogs of people i love in my native community because of the excessive call for violence as the answer to decolonization, maintaining nuance but only for one side and saying fuck all to everything and everyone else.
but then today.
the number of jewish friends and blogs i've had to unfollow because people are doubling down on "hamas bombed a fucking hospital" when there's clear evidence that isn't true and it's propaganda to perpetuate cycles of violence?
fucking horrifying.
#like as someone from a native background and someone working to convert it's just#heartbreaking and frustrating to feel absolutely abandoned by both sides#simply because pointing out israel is built on a settler-colonial stance even if jewish people aren't settlers and colonizers#because they are indigenous to the area#gets me beat to the ground in native circles because it means i support netanyahu and gver and genocide#and i get the same fucking condescending look of 'you shouldnt talk' from liberal jewish groups that are all for saying zionism is a diseas#and yes they agree as jewish people that they are white and israel is white supremacist like#like i'm sorry the fucking whiplash of what the absolute fuck#but then pointing out that palestinians are being mass murdered and their response is clearly understandable#and israel is purposely using this shit to perpetuate genocide#all of a sudden i'm a fucking hypocrite to both sides#and my poor fucking husband is standing here like 'yes thats what you get for being clearly aware and wanting nonviolence'#how dare i not stand solely with israel#how dare i not demand only free palestine#people are just so fucking toxic and caught up in their own opinions being the only opinions and nuance being a fucking crime for condemnin#as if talking about this shit does anything! people are dying on both sides - one clearly more than the other - and what#you truly think attacking people that aren't specifically nodding along in blind support is really the thing that'll change the world#also saw a thing today that was like “being an ally means i will fight for you” like fuck that#but that's a different thing anyway#anyway i hate both my communities and feel absolutely isolated from them and wow#community just really isn't a thing unless you're ride or die without speaking up about anything huh

the plot of steven universe was about quirkifying genocide and they saw that and made it into their whole personality
why is the average tumblr zionist a 30 year old steven universe fan
#the entire point of the show was putting a “hurt people hurt people” spin on literal colonialism and genocide.#the main villians were colonizers...this is what The Show described them as specifically. and then the theme of the show became#'its morally wrong to condemn colonialists even if they commit mass murder in the name of colonialism...bc what if theyre Sad'#like sorry thats the reason its specifically steven universe and not like MLP or smth. bc thats the whole point of the show#its also vehemently antiblack and the main villians kept indigenous peoples in human zoos bc she found them sexy or smth#also the way the showrunners described that situation. bc they think colonialism is sexy and hot and quirky

When South Africa dismantled apartheid, it did not end with the expulsion of all white South Africans. They became part of the new South Africa, just without the criminal discriminatory oligarchic powers the apartheid goverment had. When Bolivia recognized its indigenous heritage and became a plurinational state, it did not mean that people of European descent were expelled in masse. It meant the recognition of the previously discriminated indigenous and mestizo people of Bolivia and the beginning of a path of integration and revalidation.
What I mean is that it's ridiculous to think that decolonization inherently means mass suffering and relocation, that's what colonization does. Decolonization is recognizing the crimes of colonization, but more importantly, material, political and social steps to give power and self-determination to the exploited native people who were victims of colonialism and imperialism.
In multicultural societies, you don't go like in that Peter Griffin meme with a skin tone chart and saying 'well, you go back to Europe, you go back to Africa, you stay here'. You build a new society on the paradigm of dignity for exploited people and equality under the law. People are acting like this is some sort of fantastic utopia instead of real initiatives that were done in living memory, with successes and failures, as all such initiatives have. One must ask why are some so insistent that multicultural societies can't thrive, especially when for most of history, societies were indeed like that. Consider why you think like that.

i've recently noticed a pattern that i'm not sure that i like. we have hundreds of fundraisers circulating on this site. many of them go without donations for days/weeks. if any fundraiser receives donations, its because the posts stand out/ something very tragic has happened to someone in the family.
for example, the nineteen year old, Shaban Al-Dalou, who was burnt alive a few days ago had a fundraiser. the family only reached their goal after losing that poor boy. i cannot understand why couldn't we have helped him before? i dont know how the family will cope with his loss.
so ask yourself, is genocide not a simple enough reason to donate? or do you need the family to be hit with a tragedy to even consider donating? everyone, i mean EVERYONE in gaza has experienced unimaginable loss and pain and destruction. they've lost their homes, livlihood, friends and family.
humanity has existed for so long because we care. we love each other and are hurt to see others' suffering.
you don't have to wait for tragedy to strike someone to donate. they are going through starvation, forced displacement, and mass murder. please care about this.
do not decrease the meaning of the word genocide. it breaks my heart to see the suffering of the people of gaza at the hands of their colonizers.
I've just got one thing left to say, save my friend mahmoud and his family. they deserve to live just like everyone. help him secure a better future for his family.
