I love your art so much. There is something so distinctive about how tender and warm you draw Vasco and Machete and I love it all it just makes my heart melt. I love the dynamic of the catholic queer identity you have for them it's so distinctive and you do it so well. Keep up the amazing work, you are honestly one of my favorite if not my favorite artist you bring me so much comfort with your work.

#I can't really articulate how much it means to me to hear all of this #all of this Vasco+Machete stuff is something that had been stewing within me for years before I started to draw and post it publicly #I distinctly remember feeling so embarrassed and awkward and reluctant to share my OC lore and such #because I was certain that the religious angle would make it instantly unrelatable and unpalatable #or even upsetting to some viewers which isn't my intention #all of these aspects are significant to me personally but I genuinely didn't think that catholicism history furries and queer themes #would be a combination that so many people would be willing to accept and examine so readily #let alone find comforting and worth engaging with #answered #porchpoltergeist #I'm still fighting the “oh no I'm so cringe aren't I” dread on a regular basis #I suspect it's never going to go away entirely #but that might be the cost of letting a bunch of people see you do something you're unironically passionate about I suppose

#19 days #tianshan #fay talks #i cannot even imagine what was going on inside he tian’s body when guan shan got up and approached him #and i know we saw this in the last chapter but guan shan really just… isn’t fazed anymore #and it’s not indifference — it’s just acceptance? tolerance? something he never really had during their school days #he still has had a few panic moments when they’re warranted but overall i’d say they’re both thinking the same thing and so are we #in any case I actually don’t think this is the last of this scene. hopefully.#whether or not they actually kiss is TBD but this is a great setup to get them to share the bed despite all the rooms like he tian said #also — can we talk about the fact that he tian is immediately opposed to guan shan doing housework?#a literal 180 from their early days when that’s all he tian wanted him for. to work for him and be at his beck and call #now he just wants…… a kiss. anything. he just wants him #lol idc what anyone says — this chapter was worth the wait for me

i’m confused. you are a huge fan of pjo characters right? so how do you sit there and not call out a problem? you claim percy to be smart, but when rick writes about percy being an idiot and annabeth deeming him as one for an entire book, you are fine with that? youre fine with how she was shocked at him being smart? why are you pretending like everything is fine? inlike most of us, you have a platform. you can reach people. the only way to make things change is to speak up. aka the only way for rick to change is if we tell him what’s wrong. just like we told him to represent nico better and he did.

it is not okay for him to write annabeth like he did. he butchered her character and make her treat percy terribly. the annabeth haters are going to actually get a platform now. you have to call rick out!!

I think there’s been a misunderstanding. I haven’t said Percy’s portrayal as unintelligent is a good thing — I just haven’t had the chance to share a full review yet. I actually agree with you that it’s disappointing how often Rick makes Percy the butt of jokes about his intelligence, and I think Percy (and Annabeth) deserves better representation too. But it feels like your message is coming at me as though I’m opposed to this view, when I’m not. I also want to highlight that I’m just one person, and while I appreciate passionate discussions about representation, I don’t appreciate being spoken to in a confrontational way, especially when we’re on the same side. I support speaking up when things need to change, but it’s important to approach these conversations respectfully.

I think I generally tend to prefer HDG stories that veer more into the dubcon nature rather than the noncon.

Something about the floret-to-be being tricked and manipulated into a pet long before they are forced directly into it just speaks to me more.

A good example is Dog of War (as always), I loved the dynamic between Princess and Camila through every stage of their journey.

Another one I think works as a good example is Beast at Bay. It's definitely more non-con than DoW, but still works well with that manipulation and trickery over direct brute force (at certain points).

Mainsprings also kinda has a similar premise. Imogen technically started out as a case of non-con, but the stockholm syndrome worked wonders for the story.

#i think another theme that a few of these stories share is that the primary floret has done some terrible. terrible things #(eg. princess being essentially a serial killer. callie being a war general(?). and imogen being an accord spy of sorts)#idk maybe it says a lot about me that i like when 'irredeemable' characters are redeemed within the compact #i definitely don't view myself as a good person by any means of the imagination #but i think that belongs in a separate post. still worth mentioning though #as always if anyone has any relevant recommendations please do share!#human domestication guide #hdg #floretposting #dog of war #a beast at bay #mainsprings
