The superintendent of my high school just sent my mom a Christmas card. The superintendent who is apparently still in the same role appx. 20 years after I graduated. Who never knew me but knew my mom in passing*.

He sent it to my house, which is the same address I lived at in high school. (Though I no longer live with my mom, so it's not her address.)

He didn't send me, the alum, a card. Nope, it's addressed specifically to my mom. Who, btw, doesn't remember him.

What. The. Fuck. This is.. honestly, laughably ridiculous. As in, funny wtf.

Did I mention that literally everyone in my immediate family - me, my parents, my partner - are all gay and/or queer?

*I was in marching band, and my mom was really involved. She was the go-to for advil, etc. when the school couldn't legally hand out any. As a parent volunteer they "couldn't stop her" (aka, encouraged her so the kids were taken care of without risking the school's liability). She was also in charge of our GIANT PROPS my senior year. These things were so big they took up every second we had spare from our actual performance to set up and take off afterward. Anyway, Dr. D. also showed up to every one of our competitions, no matter how far away they were**. So they were almost certainly passing acquaintances. I think Dr. D. helped get our props off the field once or twice, including during grand championships.

**except the exhibitions we did in HI and FL, which, yknow, exhibitions. Not competitions.

Welp, if JK Rowling being executive producer and therefore being fully involved in the show wasn't enough for people to boycott, then here's HBO basically saying they don't care JK Rowling is a bigot from hell who literally helped lead a harassment campaign of lies against Imane Khalif in her transphobia and obsession with women being terf's standards of women alongside posting harassment against trans people on twitter at times, they gonna stand by her, while using the excuse, "personal views". i'm very picky about tv shows, but my pickiness has only an incidental relationship to whether or not a show is "good". it needs to scratch a particular itch in my brain at the right moment. do i know what the right moment is? no. do i know what the itch is? also no. i can be relied upon to get instantly bored of 85% of tv shows and then turn the remaining 15% into a central facet of my personality for 3-5 business months and even i am incapable of predicting which one it'll be ahead of time.
