#But fire is cool too because firebenders can basically generate fire out of nothing as I get?

Since I know you’re finishing soon, just like with the end CXGF, you finished! Now what was your fav? Like fav episode or moment or character, or just not even your favorite. Just what are your thoughts on this epic epic show?
Thank you for the ask! And for encouraging me to finally watch this masterpiece <3
To be honest, it’s always difficult for me to explain why I like certain things, because in most cases I simply don’t have any reasons, I just like it subconsciously x) Anyway, I’ll try to share my general thoughts, plus a few of my favourite things, divided into categories (like a character, episode, season, etc) so as to keep it structured.
Here we go!
General thoughts: this is a fantastic show. I can clearly see why people praise it so much and note that many other TV shows should look up at it, especially in terms of storytelling, character development, and world building (I even saw how fandom creators take this show as an example when it comes to creating something themselves, so I, as a creative soul~, can say that I also took something from it).
I read a few reviews on this show and I noticed that many people pointed out that this show didn’t hook them then since the very beginning because it was a bit childish but assured that it did get better eventually. As for me, it really hooked me since the first episode, because it already seemed super dynamic and as I kept watching it, I was truly amazed by the variety of the adventures the main characters had and how many subjects this show brought up. One of the reasons I love animation is that it can balance out serious mature topics with childish lightness so as to keep it enjoyable for everyone and I think ATLA does it perfectly.
I think it really all I can say. This is a very well-written show, and I love how consistent it is in terms of storytelling. It rarely has pointless episodes and makes a fantastic job on its characters, all of whom have clear personalities and dynamic stories (arcs) on their own. It talks about mature important subjects, and I’m just weak for the pieces of media that create their own universes because I love digging into the lore (and it’s really possible to talk ATLA lore for hours).
Favourite character: as I already mentioned, Sokka! He’s amazing.
I don’t want to talk too much about him because I might get repetitive but to put it simply, I love how multilayered Sokka actually is. He’s a fun guy with a boomerang on the surface but if you look inside, you can see how smart, brave, protective, and caring he is. He’s a leader, a strategist, a warrior, and I suppose I simply have a thing for the characters like him x) (and you can’t imagine how much I feel him in those scenes when he rushes his friends to be focused on the mission, especially when Katara gets distracted by helping some random villagers and he says something like, “Katara! We have more important things to do!” and I just shout at the screen, “YES”).
My second fave is Iroh! He caught my eye since the episode one, because, I don’t know, he just seemed genuinely funny and enjoyable to me x) But as I kept watching the show, I started noticing how wise, caring, loving, and kind he is, and my love to him reached the top somewhere in season 2 when he and Zuko got much more sweet uncle/nephew moments. And can I just say that his reunion with Zuko legit made me shed a tear 😭
And my third fave, to make it Top-3, is Zuko! I think I was quite indifferent to him in season 1 but started seeing much more in him in season 2 when he was trying to find his true path and was rushing between searching for Aang and having a peaceful life. And I absolutely love him in season 3. The way he rehearsed his meeting with Aang (“Hi. My name is Zuko”) was adorable :’D
Favourite season: I don’t think I can explain why but for some reason season 2 was the most memorable to me. It has so many cool things, from the introduction of the new characters to absolutely fantastic Zuko’s arc. And for absolutely no reason I really can recall many episodes and their titles from this one without looking up, even though it’s been quite a while since I finished season 2 (and by saying it, I don’t mean season 1 and 3 weren’t memorable and I don’t like them; just season 2 brought me more emotions, I suppose).
Favourite episodes: I’ll list a few ones from each season because for now I’m not sure which episode is my ultimate fave.
Season 1 - The Storm, The Blue Spirit, The Great Divide.
Season 2 - Zuko Alone, The Swamp (I LOVE this one a lot!!), The Chase, The Crossroads of Destiny.
Season 3 - Sokka’s Master, The Puppetmaster, The Day of Black Sun (two parts), The Firebending Masters, The Boiling Rock.
Favourite ship: I… don’t have one? Even if we take canon ones into account, I don’t really feel anything towards them. Sokka/Yue certainly have a beautiful and tragic story, but I don’t think about them that often. Sokka/Suki are nice, too, but that’s all I can say. Zuko/Mai… I’m not sure how they even became a couple. Aang/Katara don’t really bring anything to me either.
I’m pretty sure that Zuko/Sokka is quite popular in the fandom but I just don’t see it, I’m sorry.
So yeah, I don’t have a fave ship, but if anyone has opinions to share with me, I’d love to hear them. I’m quite open-minded at this point.
Favourite moments: akjajdkf I don’t think I can recall many. I really need to watch this show at least one more time for that. Anyway, the ones that come to my mind are (random order):
Iroh and Zuko’s reunion, as I already mentioned. This scene made me cry. CRY. ME. I rarely cry while watching/reading anything, so it really speaks a lot (it reminds me that Esteban’s sacrifice in Coronation Day made me cry, too. I literally had to pause before continuing to watch because I couldn’t stop sobbing ajhsjdkf).
Sokka’s battle with Piandao in “Sokka’s Master”.
Literally all flashbacks scenes in “Zuko Alone.”
Ice dodging in “Bato of the Water Tribe.”
Hama's story and bloodbending in “The Puppetmaster” (that’s so creepy and fantastic).
Zuko and Aang perform the firebending technique to the dragons in “The Firebending Masters.”
Aaaand this is really all I can recall for now x) Those are not necessarily my most favourite moments, just the ones that were off the top of my head at the moment.
Well, I think that’s it! To conclude, I just want to say I really loved this show (and now I don’t feel awkward for never watching it anymore XD), these characters, this world, and basically everything. It was a super enjoyable watch and I’d love to rewatch it someday! (maybe even showing to my sister to watch it together)
Thank you for the ask again and sorry that it took me quite long to get to it!
#Ask me anything#Hmmm#Maybe I also need to think which bending type is my favourite#Honestly I could say earth because it’s like my own element#(since I’m a Capricorn)#but in the context of the show I’m quite indifferent to it XD#Maybe water because it has many cool sub-styles like healing and freaking bloodbending#and I love that they get more powerful when it’s the full moon#But fire is cool too because firebenders can basically generate fire out of nothing as I get?#Like when Katara and Toph were captured in ‘Runaway’ they couldn’t escape because there were no water and earth they could use#(I know Katara used her own sweat eventually but it’s not the point)#Meanwhile the firebenders basically have their powers all the time and just create their own fire#Although I suppose it still can be problematic since they get their power from the sun#Anyway I think I’d still prefer water

Seeing as how long I have been a HUGE fan of the airbender series (ATLA), it's actually kind of ridiculous that I never got into the fandom. Anyway, humor me while I go through each of my ocs and babble about their roles, histories, and bending styles in the ATLA universe! Also please excuse the fact that they had zero afro-textured options for hair in this one lol.
*Check under the cut for an unnecessary amount of lore.*
Kipling ~ Waterbender | Northern-style waterbending, vine/plant-bending, healing
Water Tribe Babeyyyyy
I don't really see Kip hailing from the Southern or Northern Water Tribes, but rather from a coastal village that developed after a handful of Southern Water Tribe hostages escaped one of the prisoner of war strongholds in the Earth Kingdom. I mean, if Hama (The Puppetmaster) and the plant benders from Foggy Swamp were any indication, there were water benders scattered all over the Earth Kingdom during Lord Ozai's military campaign.
Bending-wise, Kip has always been an average waterbender, whose bending is strongest when she's manipulating the water in plants and vines. When she comes of age, she is determined to advance her skills and find a way to serve her tribe more directly. So she travels to the Northern Water Tribe to seek an apprenticeship. There Kip advances her skills in traditional water bending forms (because up until then, her methods have been rather unorthodox) as well as her affinity for healing.
While Kip is up north, she does get close to Princess Yue in their healing classes. For a long time, Kip develops what she believes is a stupid crush, but eventually discovers the Princess has mutual feelings. Step aside, Sokka, you ain't the only one. Kip and Yue explore their relationship, but only briefly until the guilt and paranoia of getting caught and tarnishing Yue's reputation catches up to them. Kip ends up leaving in the dead of night leaving nothing but - you guessed it - a poem for Yue to find.
Kip happens to be one of the travelers Team Avatar meets while they're on the road. It's quite some time after the invasion of the Northern Water Tribe. This is after Yue has passed on, but before the group reaches Ba Sing Se. Both being kind of self-taught waterbenders, Kip and Katara bond very easily. Kip has a hard time being around Sokka since it's the first time she's felt something for someone since Yue. Still, despite Kip's efforts to ignore Sokka, they end up bonding over a lot of stuff, both stupid and serious. I'm not going to go into details about what went down when they inevitably learned of each other's past relationships with Yue, but yes, there were lots of emotions. A lot of Kip trying to run away and shake herself of Sokka. A lot of Sokka battling between pursuing her or leaving her alone. It's a mess. And no I still don't know how it turns out. Haven't planned it out that far.
After Ozai is defeated, Kip makes her living as a traveling waterbending instructor with her good Earth Kingdom friend, Khleo. She travels the territories, finding hidden water tribes and informing them of the fall of Ozai. She works with Khleo and the community members to open smalls schools, closely modeled after the earthbending schools in Omashu.
***
Khleo ~ Earthbender | earthbending, sandbending, lavabending
Khleo had a rocky start to their journey. Sorry, I couldn't help it.
They were born in an area that bordered on the Si Wong Desert and the mountain chain dividing the land from Chameleon Bay (where they later meet Kipling.) Naturally, Khleo picks up a little bit from each of the known forms of earth manipulation. Although they develop into a fully realized master by the time they reach adulthood, they don't ever try their hand at meltalbending when it starts to gain popularity after the fall of Ozai.
Khleo grew up poor and had to resort to unsavory business ventures with the local sandbenders in order to keep food on the table. But since they were the sole bender that could calm down the nearby volcanoes whenever they acted up, they were always regarded as a hero within the community.
Eventually, the Fire Nation finds a way to complicate Khleo's existence and they have to flee their home. First, they cross the mountain range to Chameleon Bay, where they meet the waterbender Kipling, who they easily bond with. Khleo and Kip travel together for some time until they run into Jet and his crew. Jet's lifestyle appeals to Khleo, who was tired of roughing it. But Kip takes one look at Jet and knows that he's bad news. She and Khleo part ways.
Like most of the kids in Jet's crew, Khleo blinded themself to his activities in order to survive and stay connected to a family group. But when his actions become too hard for them to go along with, they abandon the Freedom Fighters and go to go look for work elsewhere.
Khleo had set their sights on Omashu, where they believed they could earn an honest living and still practice their bending without the eyes of the Fire Nation bearing down on them. The journey was tough and Khleo had a few brushes with death, but they made it to Omashu. There they were immediately hired by a cabbage vendor who struggled in the past with keeping his wares in one piece. Khleo guarded his cabbage stand for all but a week before they were noticed by some Omashu academy trainers. They offered Khleo a job as an instructor in multiple earthbending forms. Surprised, but very willing, Khleo accepted. Eventually, Khleo was inducted into the Order of the White Lotus.
Years later, Khleo reunites with a very emotionally scarred Kipling. She stays with them until the capture of King Bumi, after which they quickly leave the city so that they can carry out the will of the White Lotus in hopes to undermine the Fire Nation's plan to conquer the Earth Kingdom on the day of Sozin's Comet 2.0.

Ozy ~ The Avatar Firebender/Airbender hybrid | firebending, airbending
Ozy's kind of special. He has an affinity for two elements.
He was born in the Fire Nation in a very, very small village on the coast of Crescent Island. When Ozy's parents noticed that their child was something of a prodigy, they brought him straight to the Fire Sages.
Now, there was a split among the sages. Some were loyal to Lord Ozai while others were secretly members of the Order of the White Lotus. One of the members recognized Ozy's affinity for airbending very early on and did everything they could to protect him.
Without being able to say goodbye to his parents or getting an explanation for what was happening, Ozy was sent to the Western Air Temple (you know, the cool upsidedown one) where he learned airbending with the help of older White Lotus members as well as spiritual experts like Guru Pathik (the same guru who taught Aang how to navigate the Avatar State.)
As Ozy became more and more enlightened, he came to believe that his gift was not a rare one. When he was not actively practicing the rudimentary components of bending, he was meditating on the factors that led the majority of people to believe that the ability to bend was inherited based on the ethnic and cultural group into which they were born. He thought that while this was true to some degree, additional affinities could be unlocked through the forgotten teachings of the Air Nomads.
To test his theory, Ozy went on a very dangerous journey to the Library in the Si Wong Desert, where he met and became very bonded to Uncle Iroh. Thankfully, Iroh and Ozy managed to not get eaten by the Library's spiritual patron. Later, Ozy declined Iroh's invitation to the Order of the White Lotus, instead choosing to retire to the Northern Air Temple. Thre he ended up assisting the mechanists with the construction of the flight technology (part of which had already been stolen and weaponized by the Fire Nation.) Ozy never left the Northern Air Temple to help in the fight against Ozai. Instead, he remained and became the first of the Air Acolytes, from which grows a community that later founded Air Temple Island and discovered the next child born into the Avatar Cycle - Korra of the Water Tribe.
***
Sun Bai ~ Airbender | proficient in airbending. Technically.
Bai, unfortunately, did not discover that he was an airbender until he was well into his twenties. The only way he unlocked his affinity for bending was through a traumatic event, the effects of which he managed to suppress for several years. It wasn't until Bai found himself in another flight or fight situation that he spontaneously called upon his connection to the air element. (Turns out Ozy was kind of right!)
Once Bai realized what he was made of, he made it a point to gather as much knowledge on the subject as he could. Everything that he came to understand about bending was self-taught. Meditation came more naturally to him, but even that required additional training, discipline, and theory to fully master. (He was basically the opposite of Avatar Korra, who picked up on the manual technique of airbending quite easily, but struggled with its spiritual component.)
Bai didn't really play a role in the fight against Lord Ozai. He didn't run into any of the Trio or Team Avatar. His journey didn't really start until after the war. At which point he meets General Adrenaline, and then later, Sascha of the Water Tribe.
General Rosario Adrenaline ~ Firebender | firebending, master in lightning redirection
Like Ozy, Adrenaline was another firebending prodigy. (In fact, it was Adrenaline who worked very closely with Princess Azula to hone her lightning redirection technique.) Eventually, Nali's skills were exploited to the fullest in the Fire Nation's military campaign, but long before that, firebending for her was a means to perform and entertain the masses.
Adrenaline grew up in the same circus troupe as Ty Lee! They had been best friends since childhood and ended up escaping together.
While Princess Azula always favored Ty Lee and Mei over Nali as bodyguards, she often went to Nali for "companionship." Azula kept her relationship with Nali very private. It lasted well into Azula's teenage years and got pretty serious. Though neither of them considered themselves in love with the other (just due to the fact that there was so much of a strain on them thanks to social hierarchy, and Azula being Azula) Nali developed a very deep, unhealthy loyalty to Azula, that in the end, resulted in her banishment from protecting the royal family.
After she was banished, Nali linked up with Zuko, who wasn't really all that happy about it, but Iroh steps in and gives the wise compassionate uncle lecture. Zuko folds and Nali becomes one his crew!
Nali and Azula continue to pursue their relationship. And now that it started to hinge on whenever Azula came around to fuck with Zuko's head, you can imagine how even more unhealthy and eventually toxic it became. Nali was torn between her loyalty to Azula versus her loyalty to Zuko. And Azula... didn't really care. It was a mess. Didn't end pretty.
Only after Azula was imprisoned by her brother did Nali finally wipe her hands completely clean of the Fire Nation's royal family. Not really caring what was happening in the rest of the world, she stumbled around from territory to territory, drinking, gambling, and taking up muscle for hire gigs to keep herself afloat. Until she meets and unexpectedly bonds with a very lazy monk, who needed an escort through the Serpent's Pass.
***
Sascha ~ Nonbender | weapons specialist - firearms and projectiles
Solo ~ Waterbender | Southern-style waterbending, bloodbending
Sascha and Solo were both students of Hama. Nuff said.
Although the twins soaked up much of Hama's ruthless, yet practical attitude towards survival, they just didn't inherit her very deep, eternal loathing for the Fire Nation.
They also realized that she was pretty messed up.
When Sascha and Solo were of age, they made a clean break from Hama and decided to open up a business in one of the towns along the mountainside.
Having grown up in the Fire Nation colonies, Sascha and Solo were very used to hiding their connection to their Water Tribe heritage. They blended in well and opened their garment and optics shop. It was a strange combination, but they managed to stake their claim in the community.
However, the two of them were still very clear enemies of the Fire Nation. They rebelled by getting the information out to other Water Tribe refugees living in hiding. Solo taught bloodbending in his self defense classes (which was much easier for him to pull off rather than traditional waterbending because it required less physical labor and thus did not put as much of a strain on his body.)
Meanwhile, Sascha would show Water Tribe nonbenders how to assemble firearms, which at the time, were considered still very new and dangerous technology.
Solo was happy with their life, but Sascha grew bored and restless. She wanted an adventure.
Then one day a very strange monk winds up wounded on her doorstep in the middle of the night. He's riddled with bullets - the kind of which only Fire Nation militia and Sascha herself would know how to remove and treat the damage they could cause...

And a treat for those that made it this far! 😜

Pairing: Luzhao
Characters: Lu Ten, Zhao, Ozai
Summary: This was basically just a chance for me to write Lu Ten going feral on Ozai. After this, Ozai becomes obsessed with getting jacked. Starts with a hint of luzhao spiciness, continues with Ozai being the worst uncle ever.
Word Count: 1213
General Warnings: Smut, Ozai being a fucking creep, homophobia
The room was hot. Humid. It was the peak of summer but the windows remained closed and the curtains drawn in an attempt to keep the echoing moans muffled from the guards outside.
Not that it particularly mattered. They knew not to get involved in the Prince’s room. They knew not to get involved in any of the rooms in which the royal family slept.
The only light came from their fingertips and their lips and a single lit oil lamp on the wall. His lover’s face shone with sweat, amber irises nearly hidden behind thick, dark eyelashes. Lu Ten kissed those bruised and reddened lips again, muffling the cry caused by the snap of his hips.
Zhao’s fingertips dragged burning lines down the curves of his back, coaxing a sharp breath past his lips as they trailed down his neck, stopping to suck a mark on the soft, salty skin.
“Please, Lu.” The slight rasp from exertion drew a pleased hum from his lips. “Please just— just a little more.” Lu Ten’s teeth dragged across his shoulder and a moment later they dug into it, causing his partner to cry out at the pleasure-pain-pleasure. The nails on his back were almost definitely drawing blood.
Still, Zhao was right. They both just needed a little more. And Lu Ten was more than willing to give that bit he needed. He licked the taste of blood from his lips, watching his face as he gave just that little more that they both needed. He held on just long enough for Zhao to cover their stomachs in sticky white liquid before he came, slumping on top of him as he panted.
Not for the first time, Lu Ten was grateful for his love’s broad chest, nuzzling his face into the crux of his neck and shoulder as he panted. “Love you so much.”
The light was flickering. Lu wasn’t sure which of them was doing it— they were both out of breath, so it was anyone’s guess. He tried to push himself up to grab the washcloth from the water basin to clean them both up, but a strong arm pulled him back down. Rough lips pressed insistently against his own as a hand ran through his hair, untangling it.
“I love you too, Lu.”
The arm relaxed and he slipped from his grasp successfully. The water had cooled, but the firebending to heat it was almost effortless, and the washcloth dipped into it and wrung out cleaned the stickiness from his stomach first. He repeated the process, walking back over to Zhao to clean him off.
“You know, I can do that myself. I’m not useless, Lu.”
“I know.” He pecked his lips, a smile playing on his lips as he returned to the washbasin, dropping the cloth in carelessly. He grabbed the silk robe hanging from one of his bedposts. “I’ll be right back, I’m just going to get us some tea. Stay there.”
Lu Ten had only just stepped out of the door and closed it when he came face to face with a distinctive pair of golden eyes and an even more distinctive smirk.
He had known Uncle Ozai was the creep to end all creeps, but this was taking it to another level. The lanterns flaring throughout the corridor were almost certainly him now.
“That voice didn’t sound particularly feminine, Nephew.” His slimy voice sent an involuntary shudder down Lu Ten’s throat. “What would your father think, knowing his son so blatantlybroke the laws of our great nation? What would the Fire Lord think?”
Lu Ten wasn’t immune to the royal family’s temper. In fact, he had been accused of leaning into it far too easily, of accepting it. Perhaps it was true, he was certainly accepting the rage the blossomed in his chest now.
“Then again, it seems you can’t even manage to please a forbidden lover correctly, so I have no doubt you’d be a disgrace to any woman you touched.” Was he licking his lips? Agni knew he wouldn’t be able to restrain himself if his uncle continued this bullshit. “You know, that boy of yours would make much more interesting noises if you weren’t so docile. You need to dominate, inflict some pain. If he were under me—“
His first two knuckles cracked against Ozai’s nose and the hot wet liquid on them told him it was almost certainly broken. Good.
He could only handle so much idiocy spewing from his lips, and the thought of Ozai replacing him above Zhao, hurting his love, was enough to burn away any semblance of control he had left.
The shell shocked expression on his uncle’s face brought a smug heat into his chest, though it did nothing to quell the raging fire inside him. He was thankful, though, that he hadn’t gotten his father’s height. Both he and Ozai were the exact same height and it made it incredibly easy to wrap his fingers around his throat and recognize that slight panic in his eyes.
That was the thing about his uncle. He was all slimy words and politics. A formidable firebender when he was winning, but he had no idea how to deal with a steadily tightening and heating up hand around his throat.
“Listen, Uncle.” Sometimes Lu Ten heard the servants whisper, whisper about how he was kind, how he was different, about how he would bring the Fire Nation into an age of kindness, one day. It was times like this that guilt swelled in his chest, because his rage burned just as hot and ugly as anyone else in his family. He was just as capable as the rest to burn and take and kill. “I truly don’t feel like going to Grandfather to request formal permission to kill you— we both know he’d give it.” His words were a croon, a layer of sickly sweet softness over dripping venom. He never sounded more like the Fire Lord he would one day be than he did now. “So I’ll make you a deal. You leave, return to your adoring wife’s bed. You don’t come anywhere near me for the rest of my leave unless you absolutely must. You don’t come near Wei ever.”
His hand heated up just enough to leave a shiny pink burn when he pulled his hand away. Oh it would blister, without a doubt, but both Ozai and Lu Ten knew he could do much worse. Lu Ten, for all he smiled and laughed and loved, was second in line to the throne. He was more than capable of burning straight through the soft, weak flesh.
He grinned with far too many teeth. “As a sign of my benevolence, I shall walk you back to your rooms. They’re on my way anyway.”
The hallway was stickier and hotter than his room had ever been. He returned to his lover with two cups of tea on a tray and dried, cracking blood on his knuckles.
The tea went cold that night as he fell into Zhao’s arms once again. His lover didn’t ask about the noise outside the door, didn’t ask about his sobs. Lu Ten didn’t tell.
There were some things Zhao just didn’t need to hear.

So, there’s this whole Youtuber Atla Au, and I have Stuff stuck in my Head. This is Sokka-centric bc thassa me.
Here Goes:
- Sokka has a mixed channel. He does educational videos, how-to videos, political videos, stories about him and his weird friends, dancing and singing videos, makeup videos, parkour videos, etc. He’s a very well known account.
- He uses fake names/obscure nicknames/code names for anyone he mentions. Anyone featured in his videos either wears a mask/facepaint or allows him to say their real name. He uses only they/them pronouns unless the person is with him and has given him other pronouns to call them by.
- He has never mentioned his name, refuses to be called Boomerang despite someone suggesting it because “that’s a disrespect to boomerangs, please don’t”, and he responds to commenters asking for his name with “;)”, “:)”, and “...”
- People only know he’s a male because he put that in his first video
- Sokka always wears facepaint in his videos, and absolutely no one recognizes him. He is unidentifiable. His continuous need to wear contact lenses and wigs of varying styles and colors also messes with people. No one can figure out what Nation he’s from (there are all four in this AU).
- Sokka has seven different facepaint styles he’ll wear.
- - Earth Kingdom is just Kyoshi Warrior facepaint. Someone attempted to drag him for disrespecting a elite warrior and all-female team. The Official Kyoshi Warrior account responded with this and only this: “Back off, he’s ours.”
- - Southern Water Tribe is based off their traditional warrior paint and La. Northern Water Tribe is based off of Tui and wolves.
- - Air Nomads is brown and blue arrows and flying lemur markings around his eyes.
- - Fire Nation is based off of Agni and the Painted Lady. It’s simple with red and yellow markings, and the accents will either be black (if he’s talking about something funny), blue (if he’s talking about something weird), or white (if he’s talking about something cool). People had to figure out those meanings themselves.
- - The Spirit World is based off of Hei Bai and Wan Shi Tong, a black, white, and grey style.
- - The blended one is cut into six sections. Fire and Air are the top two, taking up his forehead and creeping into his hairline. Water and Earth are on the bottom, bleeding down his neck. The Spirit World and nonbending sections are on his eyes. For those, he does fox markings on both sides, and the Spirit side is colorful like many of the minor Spirits are (bugs and birds and others). The nonbending side has normal fox colors, and the edges of all sections are blended together.
- - Each mask has a different meaning, which wasn’t figured out until later. If something is about a story, then it will be Fire Nation or Water Tribe. If the story includes strangers, then it will be Fire Nation, but if it’s mostly his pre-established friends, then he’ll have Water Tribe. Any sort of performance is Earth Kingdom, unless he’s doing it with someone else, which is when he wears his blended one. If the video is instructing in any way, it’s Air Nomad. If it’s a political video, he will always have his Spirit facepaint on.
- Most people assume he’s Air Nation because he seems nomadic. He’s constantly talking about new friends, his backgrounds change every video and he speaks all the languages one could possibly learn.
- As a Note, there are all four Nations. They all have different languages. There are formal and informal of each language (or common and high-speak). There is also the General Common, which is the language basically everyone knows so they can communicate with other nationalities. Air Nomads have many different slangs depending on where the nomads are from, but only one central language. They don’t have formal or informal.
- Sokka’s most viral video is called Secret Tunnel. He met some nomads and they taught him to use their instruments at an amateur level. He then asked if they wanted to record a video with him. They said yes, so he recorded them singing and dancing to the song, and he joined in on guitar (or whatever the stringed instrument is called in that episode). The video ‘solidified’ that Sokka was from the Air Nomads.
- Things people know about the channel and the Friends (called ‘Boomeraang’, though no one seems able to figure out why - most pass it off as a typo, but true fans know Sokka pays too much attention to his work and his boomerang)
- - Lady is either related to Sokka or as close as a sibling. They’re a master waterbender and extreme activist. They’re constantly starting rebellions and protests and getting into trouble through that. They have once impersonated a Spirit in order to get rid of a corrupt company that was polluting a river and then got the nearby fishing town to work together to clean said river. Lady got their education in waterbending after beating “an old coot in battle, didn’t have much to learn but Lady needed ‘finesse’ or something.”
- - Kuzon is Lady’s SO. They were friends first, SO’s second, and Sokka had to endure the pining. Kuzon acts older than they look, and uses extremely outdated slang. A video with Kuzon in the background as Sokka told a story confirmed the fact when Sokka asked “What did you say to Bluey?” “Flameo, Hotman!” It is assumed that Kuzon is a bender, but no one knows which type. Kuzon once threw a raging party because his school was really strict. The entire student body was invited and the cops were called, but no one got in trouble because they weren’t breaking any laws.
- - Bluey is either a nonbender or a firebender. Sokka’s stories are unclear on that, but one thing is clear: Bluey is a vigilante. And works in a tea shop. And holds some sort of position of power somewhere. It varies from “Bluey stopped a drug ring this month” to “Bluey’s uncle told them they can’t work the night shift because they haven’t slept” to “Bluey just passed a rule saying no drinks during meetings. They’re just mad that I kept slurping my cactus juice.”
- - Bandit is an actual criminal, but also holds some position of power. They are blind, maybe, and an earthbender. Apparently the greatest earthbender in the world, but that could also be Rocky. Bandit scams scammers, usually ones on the street that can’t call the police because they’re also criminals. They’ve made a lot of money that way, and Bandit uses the funds for a combination of food and taking Sokka shopping since he helps them. Bandit also fought in an underground earthbending tournament and won the title every time. Sokka says that the reason behind Bandit even going there was that their family was awful and somehow thought they were fragile, so they learned how to ditch their escort and vent their frustration via illegal fighting ring.
- - Rocky is a king. And insane. And friends with Kuzon and some old people. Nothing else is known, besides they’re a bender.
- - Bison. Is maybe an actual bison. Is Kuzon’s best friend and they’re constantly kissing everyone and messing around with Lemur. Lemur is flighty and loyal and like lychee nuts. Not much else is told, but they’re in many stories and the wording is weird enough that no one can tell if they’re animals or humans.
- - Wheaty was a real jerk when they all first met, and the group all left on bad terms. However, when they met back up, Wheaty was much nicer and was trying to be better than they originally were. They had to go to therapy to help with anger issues and were recovering well when the group reunited. Gurl (Sokka makes sure to spell it out for the viewers) is one of Wheaty’s best friends, having been there for the other through everything. Yuyan was in a similar boat, and was usually the ‘voice’ (Sokka would laugh at that, before continuing as if he hadn’t) of reason. The trio were all very nice and helpful, and had some other friends that Sokka met and hit it off with. Mini-Me was someone who was smol and idolized Sokka. Big Man always traveled with Mini-Me, but never once stopped them from following Sokka around.
- - Warrior is a nonbender and is the one who taught Sokka to fight with fans. They also educated him on toxic masculinity, getting rid of the sexism ingrained in him (*note, in this AU, Sokka wasn’t as sexist, due to being exposed to a few more people and the internet, and therefore finding more female idols. Suki helped him stopped what was left, because he still struggled and wanted to be better). Warrior is about 30% of Sokka’s impulse control, which is still a large chunk considering how many impulses he has. They have been in a few videos wearing an entire robe and mask get-up, and spoke once (1) when they told Sokka that Knife and Ballerina were head over. It was the middle of a video about how to fight with fans.
- - Princess, Knife, and Ballerina were a trio that could rule the world. Princess probably would’ve turned out awful if they hadn’t left home with their uncle. Knife hated any sort of protocol, but never seemed to show emotion. Both they and Yuyan were people that had to be observed to understand their emotions at any one point. Ballerina was happy, a gymnast, a yoga instructor, and a nonbender. It is assumed that Knife is a nonbender who uses only knives and Princess is a master firebender, but there is speculation.
- - Roller and Pusher were best friends. Roller was in a wheelchair and Pusher always pushed them. Roller was incredibly intelligent and often helped Sokka with inventions, while Pusher was a skilled earthbender who used more finesse than most.
- - The Moon is mentioned once and never again, and everyone wonders why he mentioned them in the first place (when discussing what he’d done while Lady battle for her education “I hung out with The Moon”).
- - Most likely to appear in a video are Roller, Pusher, Bandit, and Gurl, all in masks. Bandit’s they can’t possibly see through, but they walk like everything’s normal.
- - Most likely to be off-screen in a video are Kuzon, Bluey, and Lady.
- - Most likely to be mentioned in a video are Kuzon, Bandit, Bluey, Lady, and Warrior.
- Things that are known about Sokka:
- - He learned Earth Kingdom formal from Bandit and informal from a combination of Friends and observation. He learned Fire Nation formal from Bluey’s uncle and Bluey occasionally slipping into it and informal from Kuzon and some colonists he met. He learned the dialects of the Southern and Northern Water Tribes from The Moon, Lady, and Lady’s family. He learned Air Nomad from a variety of monks and people like Chong and Lily.
- - His parkour skills come from a combination of his Friends’ illegal activities, chaotic antics, and just a dash of bad luck.
- - He learned fighting from practically everyone he’d met, and observing them or having them teach him. He hadn’t actually wanted to learn to fight with fans or knives, but Warrior and Knife had taken one look at him and told him he had to or else. In fact, the only weapons he wanted to learn to use were a sword, a club, and his boomerang. He learned the first from Rainbow Father, the second from Bi Father, and the third was self-taught. Everything else, he posted videos as he learned new skills, and also told the varying stories of how he was coerced into being taught. For example, Ballerina insisted on teaching him chi blocking, a very obscure form of fighting, and would randomly use it on him until he agreed. They always undid what they blocked immediately after, but it was still annoying to randomly lose use of both arms.
- - Sokka’s Boomerang is deadly in his hands. He does not know this. During a livestream, Gurl snuck in after causing a distraction outside of the room he was in and read it off someone’s comment. They informed the viewers to never bring it up because Sokka didn’t know and if he underestimated his Boomerang, than everyone he used it against would, too. And that led to hilarious situations.
- - Sokka is a genius and inventor who has several patents. However, no one can find him through them, mostly because he didn’t want any attention when he put the items out into the open. He invented submarines and airships (people had no use for them before, but found they were incredibly useful when Sokka got everything patented and got a sponsor). He also invented cactus juice, which is as mentally impairing as alcohol with none of the lasting physical effects. Bandit loved that one.
- - Sokka has seemingly been everywhere. He’s mentioned meeting the Spirits Hei Bai, Wan Shi Tong, and the Moon and Ocean Spirits in passing. (*while wearing the Spirit facepaint* “I mean, I get that the Spirit World seems great and all, but I’ve been there. Not that exciting. Met Hei Bai and had to be rescued. Don’t see the appeal. And there isn’t a single bathroom there.”)
- - Can dance pretty average, but knows a lot of different styles because of various Friends. Can also sing and whistle well, and usually hums Secret Tunnel while doing parkour. Most of his music videos include other people, minus a few where he was asked to demonstrate his instrumental skills. He, again, is average and only knows the different instruments because people decided he should learn.
- - He is amazing at makeup. Every person he brings in to do (mostly people who aren’t seen again on the videos) leaves with stunning work done.
- - He can draw and paint, but he didn’t start off good. He started doing instructional videos based off articles and lessons he found. His viewers learned with him, and he’s improved greatly. He’s also prone to adding random rainbows to his landscapes, even in the black and white ones (it starts a trend of usually colorful things done in black and white, or in a way that’s more appealing to colorblind people).
- - Sokka wants to get rid of patriarchal societies and old men with problems. He fully supports his Friends’ protests and rebellions, and is likely to have cohesive arguments backed up with verifiable evidence and trustworthy sources.
- - He loves terrible jokes, and knows they’re terrible, but that’s the point.
- - He’s theorized to be in a position of power because once King Kuei and his bear Bosco walked on-screen from behind (Sokka was at a park and had his Earth Kingdom facepaint, so he definitely wasn’t expecting anyone to come), spotted Sokka and looked absolutely delighted, came straight over and hugged the boy from behind while he was explaining a move with a club. King Kuei said nothing, just hugged him until it was returned, let go, and waved goodbye. Bosco did a similar thing before following his owner. Sokka just continued the video as if nothing had happened, so it seems that he’s used to being around heckin’ royalty.
- Boomeraang gets a lot of hype and Sokka does sell merch and earn money, but only sells what is specifically requested. Someone requests he make t-shirts with his channels logo on it, he starts selling them, and doesn’t stop until there aren’t any more demands. Spoiler, there’s always demands. He tries to tell them he doesn’t want to take their money, but he almost had a riot when he suggested not selling anything anymore because he felt bad.
- The Gaang knows about the channel and talk about it a lot. Sokka had planned to keep it small, anonymous, and just have fun with his catch-all videos. He’s 2/3 at this point.
- Katara has her own activist channel, and considered making a second as the Painted Lady and use Sokka’s rep to eventually boost her, but decided against it. Her channel is called ‘Freedom Water’, based on the fact that water is the element of change. She has a moderate following.
- Toph has her own channel as well, which consists of Sokka holding the camera for her and videotaping her as she performs complex earthbending. She calls her channel ‘roc’. Her following is mostly other earthbenders who aren’t too proud to learn from a preteen, and other kids who think she’s cool. She also has a channel called ‘Bandit’, which is just her in the mask she wears for Boomeraang, telling all about different ways she’s scammed scammers, occasionally also showing videos of those instances. Sokka is her cameraman there as well, and will sometimes go on-screen with his facepaint. That channel has a large following because of Boomeraang. Toph is actually good at not slipping into the wrong nicknames or giving away genders.
- Aang has a channel called ‘The Temple’, which is almost solely different animals he spots. Some people try to say that he isn’t at the Air Temples, but he just laughs and ignores them. It drives people insane and it’s just accepted that the name of the channel is misleading. He has a small to moderate following, mostly animal enthusiasts, and the others are nature enthusiasts.
- Zuko has a channel followed by only theater kids and wannabe theater kids. He literally put ‘Title’ as the name, and uses his videos to rant about different plays and a lot about how the Ember Island Players botch the best of shows.
- Jet has an official channel for his Freedom Fighters, which is now solely used for spreading awareness and raising funds for those who need help (orphans, abused people, and people affected by disasters). The group lost a lot of followers when they changed their tune from angry and vengeful to calm and actually trying to help instead of harm. However, Katara and Zuko both gave shout-outs to the channel, and Toph ‘mentioned’ them as well (*read: threatened her followers if they didn’t check it out*). Their following has grown and now has a very good rep.
- Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee share a channel called ‘Royal Three’ where they show off their skills. They have a large following.
- Teo and Haru help manage everyone’s accounts and Teo is the official Kyoshi Warrior technician by the time everyone is done. Both are paid by their Friends for the work and recommend the duo to literally everyone possible.
- The Kyoshi Warriors are extremely well-known. There was an uproar when Ty Lee was announced as an official Kyoshi Warrior. They post basic fighting tutorials.

If I were doing the Avatar Remake
Just a list of things changes and tweaks to the original I would make to Avatar if I was in charge of this netflix remake, given that we’ve all lost hope in it and now I’m just speculating to make myself feel better. I’ve already made a list of things it really needs, and this list includes them, but I’m just going to go hog wild with my imagination and opinions on Avatar. In a rough order of when I think and them and what episode it becomes relevant.
How long are these new episodes going to be? I’d like to extend them for more story content, though am wary of overdoing it. How does thirty minutes sound? Enough for some more depth to some episodes.
I think it should be pointed out earlier on that there are more villages across the South Pole. This is canon, and would make the Southern Water Tribe feel more alive.
Aang’s friends from the past: in addition to Kuzon and Bumi, give him a Northern Water Tribe pal. He’s never been to the South Pole, and was deliberately coming to make new friends somewhere the Monks wouldn’t think to look for him. We can reference this friend again when we reach the North Pole.
Somebody, probably Iroh, mentions Zuko’s name in front of Aang. It’s always infuriated me that the Gaang know’s Zuko’s name suddenly in Warriors of Kyoshi without anyone telling them what it is. I don’t think it needs its own episode, just somebody says it while he’s captured.
The terms of Zuko’s banishment don’t restrict him from the colonies in the Earth Kingdom, so they don’t consider those colonies to be proper Fire Nation territory. I feel they should have their own name, just to make the politics of the show feel deeper. “The Eastern Protectorate” is a nice reference to the Chinese “Protectorate of the Western Territories.” Zhao can namedrop it when they go to his port.
The fact that Kyoshi Island has such a different culture from the main Earth Kingdom should be brought up. The answer is a mix between isolation and cultural exchange with the Southern Water Tribe. Katara and Sokka probably have a passing knowledge of the island. “Oh, that’s where we are.” Also, if Aang knew to come here for the Koi fish, how didn’t he know about there being Kyoshi revering settlements there?
There should be an adult Kyoshi Warrior training the others. She approves of Suki training Sokka, and comments on the rarity of outsiders and men being Kyoshi Warriors. I feel Sokka is the first outsider, but there was another man. Adult warrior gives the explanation that when she was a young trainee, a man working on the docks was teased for “fighting like a girl” so warriors taught him exactly like a girl.
There should be an Earthbending Kyoshi Warrior. I mean Kyoshi herself was a bender, the art can’t be exclusively a non-bending form.
Maybe point out that there are multiple villages on the island. This is in fact canon.
Haru’s mother and village could use some actual names.
We never see any non-bending Earth Kingdom soldiers. I loved how the Fire Nation has different uniforms for its bending and non-bending warriors, and I’d like to see the same for the Earth Kingdom troops.
I want to know more about those pirates? The captain is ethnically a Fire Nation citizen. Is there a story behind that? A navy deserter? Like an opposite of Jeong Jeong, deserting not for ethics but because he didn’t like duty getting in the way of fortune? I’m probably just overthinking it.
The names of the Freedom Fighters are obviously pseudonyms, and Jet probably urges the Gaang to adopt some themselves.
While I don’t actually feel that Aang lying to the two groups in The Great Divide is an unforgivable wrong, I feel the lie itself was a little demeaning and could have been a little more sophisticated.
I have seen that post saying there needs to be more Indians in Avatar than just Guru Pathik, given how many Indian concepts are in the show. Many people also share the opinion that there should be Indian airbenders, so yes they should appear in the flashbacks in The Storm (and The Southern Air Temple as well). Also some Earth Kingdom villages should be Indian based as well. I think the market from The Waterbending Scroll could be a good place to start, maybe the port from The Storm as well, though probably somewhere that isn’t just a background place as well. Maybe the nuns in Bato of the Water Tribe too.
Iroh could be less creepy with June.
Ah, The Northern Air Temple. Honestly I feel that while the ultimate message of Aang being okay with the Mechanist and his people settling in the Air Temple is okay, I feel it needs to end with a greater emphasis on the Mechanist’s people being more respectful to the site. Ramming pipes through historical mosaics and demolishing statues is really not on. Also, while Sokka being cool with industrialisation is in character, I do think he’d disapprove the desecration.
I feel the fact that a lot of the Fire Nation’s technological might (not all of it, though) is riding off the back of a blackmailed Earth Kingdom citizen is something that could be brought up more often.
Yue’s story with the Moon Spirit needs to be explained almost immediately, so that it’s not kind of an arse-pull when the plot needs it.
Legend of Korra makes a big deal about the South gaining independence from the North, but they’re already treated as separate nations? I think it should be mentioned somewhere, probably from Hahn, that the South is technically subservient to the North, though operates with a great deal of autonomy that comes with not being able to contact each other.
The North is pretty sure it’s the original Water Tribe, but can’t say for sure. Hahn thinks of the South as nothing but a colony, though Arnook is more progressively minded and notes there are no records of who came first and treats the South as a sister tribe.
I think there’s another character worth adding, a captain of the Northern warriors. He can appear several more times throughout the series, which I’ll elaborate on.
Zhao comments “there’s a reason they’ve survived a hundred years of war” whereas other comments suggest the Northern Water Tribe has been sitting out of the war. Apparently the North did take uniforms from soldiers 85 years ago, so I think the idea should be that they received one big siege back then, and since then they’ve been experiencing raids since then culling their villages and forcing them into that single fortified city-state. Since then, their ability to send ships out has been impeded by Fire Nation ships patrolling those water but not engaging the city itself until Zhao’s siege.
Yue, when mentioning the waterbenders learning from the Moon, should reference humanity receiving bending from the Lion Turtles, just to introduce the concept that bending could be given and therefore by implication taken away.
There’s a historical character I want to introduce: an Earth Kingdom general that was nearly able to push the Fire Nation out of the Earth Kingdom around half-way through the 100 Year War, but was taken down by internal Earth Kingdom politics. The Fire Nation had to do its conquests all over again because of him. It would help fill out a century of history that is poorly explained. I think he could be introduced by Sokka asking General Fong how they still have an outpost on the west coast when most of that region has been occupied by the Fire Nation.
Azula’s blue fire should be depicted like blue flames are in real life: very straight jets rather than the flickering things you see in the animation. Since it’s basically just powerful fire, I think it should be seen with a couple of other firebenders, though Azula is the only one that exclusively uses it. Jeong Jeong and Iroh would be good people to use it.
I saw a post once by a Korean rightfully upset that the only Korean characters in the show (Song and her village) are lumbered in with the essentially Chinese Earth Kingdom as if they’re the same culture despite Korea obviously being separate and having a poor history of China attempting to enforce hegemony over it. I think maybe something could be made of Song and her people being a distinct culture that has had a generally poor relationship with the Earth Kingdom at large. Maybe the previously mentioned Earth Kingdom general was screwed over for being of this culture.
I’m not sure how to depict the Swampbenders. They'll no longer be caricatures of the guys in the next studio, so they’ll be more respectfully treated and not hillbillies. I’m not sure if they should be Vietnamese (given the original characters have Vietnamese names) or southern Native Americans (given they’re waterbenders, and the other waterbenders are Inuits).
After failing to get Bumi as Aang’s earthbending teacher, they throw around suggestions. Since Aang is learning waterbending from Katara they consider a similarly aged Earthbender. Katara suggests they go find Haru, while Sokka suggests the earthbending Kyoshi Warrior I mentioned before.
I saw a post once suggesting that the Beifongs were collaborators, and while I think this is somewhat extreme, I would like to explore the interplay between their wealth and their position in the war. Also, the fact that Toph had been sheltered from the war and has far less of an emotional stake in it needs to be explored in more detail.
In the Zuko Alone flashbacks Azula really needs to be made out as a normal child with a bad influence (her father) instead of an inherently bad child. My sister points to this episode and claims Iroh or Ursa should have just drowned her and that’s something incredibly fucked up to say about a ten(?) year old.
In that vein, Iroh’s “no she’s crazy and needs to go down” line really needs to be changed to something more compassionate. Most Avatar meta states that Iroh doesn’t actually hate Azula; he’s just prioritising Zuko’s safety, and his line here needs to reflect that.
Aang should recognise the Lion-Turtle, and know that they gave humanity their bending powers. Just to keep that concept in mind, so that when it comes to the energybending climax it’s less of an arse-pull.
Wan Shi Tong’s morale compass and lumping a bunch of kids attempting to avoid genocide in with conquerors needs to be called out more, and I feel Katara should be the one to do it.
Suki gets to stay on for one extra episode and help fight the Drill. It also makes for a better explanation of how she got back. Right now it’s implied she went back across the Serpent’s Pass; in my own she’d explicitly head along the wall and go back with the ferries.
I want more discussion of Ba Sing Se’s social stratification. Was Jin able to visit the Jasmine Dragon? Or was she blocked from entering higher rings?
Toph’s lie detecting thing made into a spiritual or chi related thing. The whole heartbeat thing is pseudoscience.
The Northern Water Captain I mentioned earlier reappears, having met and joined his men with Hakoda’s. Hakoda praises his son with helping bridge the gap between the two water tribes.
Ty Lee gets more appearances in Book 3, even if just in the background. She got some nice development in The Beach and I want to see more of it as Azula’s brought her out of that circus and back into the Fire Nation nobility.
Sparky Sparky Boom Man’s tattoo has a different design that is not a villainised appropriation of a Hindu symbol. Something nice and geometric, maybe sun based.
Hawky at some point returns to Team Avatar. I want them legitimised as a member of the Gaang! Equal status to Momo and Appa! Also I suppose bringing a letter back from the Beifongs could have significance to Toph. But let Hawky return!
Hama has a more compassionate ending. I feel after she’s led away, Sokka figures it’s pretty fucked up that they’re handing one of their own over to the Fire Nation so they go and rescue her. They give her a choice between joining them to fight during the eclipse or returning to the South Pole to help rebuild the Southern Water Tribe (given that there’s Notherners helping rebuild she could help make sure they rebuild it in the style of the south and not a facsimile of the north). She chooses the latter.
No weird Guru Pathik during Aang’s hallucinations please.
While discussing the allies that Hakoda picked up, he mentions some people he couldn’t get: they couldn’t find the Kyoshi Warriors, the Sandbenders didn’t want to come, the Omashi Resistance wanted to use the eclipse to retake their city, and General Fong’s outpost had been overrun. Just flesh out things a little.
Sokka and the other Water Tribe warriors should be wearing that facepaint for the Invasion.
I want more interaction with The Duke, Haru, and Teo with the Gaang.
Chit Sang’s girlfriend and friend join with the second escape instead of being strangely absent. Also, who is he? Sokka probably looks him up to make sure they’re not bringing a serial killer into their midst. Preferably not, I like to think they were thrown in there for opposing the war.
I’d like Suki to learn from Hakoda that the other Kyoshi warriors are alive, if imprisoned.
Suki doesn’t like wearing prison clothes and attempts a facsimile of Kyoshi islander clothes by stealing Katara and Haru’s clothes.
Some more emotions between Sokka and Suki relating to her imprisonment please. There’s a lot of pent up trauma there and I’d like them to work through it.
People like to play up Katara’s “you obviously didn’t love her as much as I did” line into an insight to a horrible character rather than just something stupid said in the heat of the moment, though I do think Katara should apologise, if only to show the haters that this isn’t her personality.
Training with Aang, Zuko finds out he has the peace of mind to do lightning. He wouldn’t use it against Azula, but it would be a nice demonstration that his inner turmoil is more or less resolved.
The adult Kyoshi Warrior I mentioned at the very beginning of this reappears as a White Lotus member. She, for whatever reason, has a replacement warrior uniform for Suki, because I feel Suki shouldn’t have to go through the climax in a Fire Nation disguise. Also maybe Sokka should be wearing his warpaint too? I mean it’s culturally significant to him.
You want lightning? No I don’t. Azula’s growing inner turmoil denies her the use of lightning, mirroring Zuko’s original inability to use it when he was lost and confused. So when it comes to sneakily zapping Katara it’s just her fire, but a flame more concentrated (and by implication, rage-fueled) than we’ve ever seen from her. A veritable beam that Zuko has to put his all into deflecting, opening him up to an attack. A non-lethal attack; Azula still has that line about “the family physician”. She doesn’t want Zuko dead and leaves him be when he’s down. Despite going off the deep end there is a spark of compassion in her that stops her from doing that.
As I’ve stated previously, Aang needs to do something slightly more significant and spiritual in order to access the Avatar State again rather than that stupid rock. Some sort of spiritual lesson.
As I’ve said a few times now, the Lion-Turtles should be known to the audience by now, along with their ability to give bending to humans, so that the ability to take bending has been implied.
The weird orange-vs-blue lightshow with the energy bending was kind of melodramatic, though the corruption-vs-purity thing could still be visually represented by Ozai trying to physically overpower Aang and failing.
Possibly to be continued.

A Black Wind Howls Chapter 3: The Fight
A/N: I hate finals and am glad that I'm done with them. Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everyone!
By the way, if you haven't noticed by now I decided to give all the chapters titles. A chapter that follows the events of an original ATLA name will share its title, but original chapters will have original names.
Also, in case anyone was curious, my mental image of Lhamo is that she looks and sounds like Scorpia from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, except not a scorpion and with black hair. Meanwhile, I may or may not have thought of Old Toph from TLoK a little when writing Tsering. To be honest, though, I don't really have any one character to point to for Dorji, aside from the in-universe comparison between her and Aang (though it might be more accurate to say she looks like a mix between Toph and Aang, just nobody's seen Toph yet and therefore cannot make that comparison). As for personality, according to TVTropes she might be described as a Rei Ayanami Expy, though I haven't seen Neon Genesis Evangelion so I can't say for sure if that's the best comparison. And just a little fun fact, despite being currently the shortest member of the Gaang (roughly 3'11, and I found a thing that says that Aang is 4'6, Katara is 4'9, and Sokka is 4'11, though it wasn't exactly official so it might be slightly off) she is the second oldest, being a few months older than Katara. Assuming you count Aang as 12 and not 112.
oOoOo
Previously on Avatar...
The firebender that the girl had hit shakily got back up and punched at the airbender's back. Only a puff of smoke came from his fist.
"My name is Dorji. I'm an airbender."
"The power of airbending may have survived through my family line, but unfortunately the spirit of the Air Nomads lives on only through you." Aang winced at that comment.
"Should you really be stealing moon peaches?" Aang asked her in a slightly accusatory tone.
Dorji shrugged. "Not stealing."
Lhamo gasped and hugged the three. "Dorji has friends her age!"
"Is that you, Tsering?" Aang asked.
Tsering grimaced. "I survived."
At some point Katara had shifted in her sleep, ending up with her arm hooked around Dorji's waist. Judging from the red glow dusting her cheeks and ears Dorji had some very conflicting feelings about this. "Shiiiiit..." she muttered softly.
Aang simply couldn't sleep.
oOoOo
Aang and Dorji, both very tired, grunted at each other sleepily when they met in the hall, both rubbing their eyes. "Couldn't sleep?" Aang asked.
"Couldn't sleep..." Dorji nodded after a few moments, like she hadn't heard Aang at first. While Aang had fully opened his eyes, Dorji's were still half-closed drowsily.
"I kinda stayed up all night thinking. You?"
Dorji's cheeks turned a nice shade of pink. "...Also thinking." After a silence that could have been either her insomnia-addled brain trying to think or just her having dozed off for a bit she said, "Actually could you please put your hand on my stomach?"
"What? Why?" Aang asked.
Dorji's blush returned. "I'm... curious about something."
"Oookay..." Aang looked at her weird, but carefully placed his hand on her stomach. "Why?"
Dorji grabbed Aang's arm and twirled around so that his arm ended up hooked around her waist. "Hmm... Nothing..." she muttered as she leaned on Aang's shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Aang asked.
Dorji released his arm and started walking away. "Checking something." She sniffed the air. "Smells like Lhamo made breakfast. Let's go." She walked away before Aang could ask her more questions. Aang sighed and followed her down the hall.
"Hey, Lhamo," Dorji muttered when she walked into the dining room, turning her head slightly to face her cousin who was currently placing food on the table. Katara and Sokka were seated at the table, eating.
"Hey, what'sh up!" Sokka said in between chewing. "You two are up late!"
"Sokka, please don't talk with food in your mouth," Katara scolded.
"Itsh sho good, though!"
Lhamo smiled. "Thank you! I made it myself!"
Dorji stared at Sokka, seemingly deep in thought. Sokka swallowed. "Something wrong?" he asked.
Dorji jumped, sailing through the air to land gently on Sokka's lap, causing him to squawk in alarm. She forced his free arm around her waist. "Ew. Weird," she muttered.
"One of us is weird here and it isn't me," Sokka objected. He put down his food and picked Dorji up, placing her in the seat next to him. Dorji started snoring despite sitting up. "She is weirdly light. Is that an airbender thing?"
Lhamo rushed over to Dorji. She placed one hand on her shoulder and the other over her forehead. "Dorji are you okay? Have you been eating well?"
Dorji grunted lazily and touched the thumb of her open hand to her chest and then her chin, then started snoring again.
Lhamo put some food in front of her. "Still, you need to eat."
Dorji made a small noise, but started eating. She made another sign after a few bites of food, then stopped eating.
"Ya gotta eat more, kid," Tsering said as she entered the room. "You're worried about your dad, right?"
Dorji sniffed and nodded after a few moments.
Tsering sighed and sat down next to her, facing her despite the fact that her eyes were closed. "I am too, kid. You have to eat, though. I remember, back when I'd just escaped the massacre, I couldn't bring myself to eat at all. It... wasn't good for my health. Felt like I was floating all the time, nearly passed out a lot. Think I did pass out a few times. Remember dreaming about everything being upside-down or something... Where was I?" Dorji touched her thumb to her forehead. "Right, your father. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he busted out of prison and assassinated the Fire Lord or some of his generals, or simply razed their capitol to the ground. He can take care of himself. Now eat."
Dorji nodded and started eating again, ignoring Aang, Katara's bewildered stares from what Tsering had said about her son.
oOoOo
"Goodbye, everyone!" Lhamo said with a wave as Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Dorji boarded Appa. "It was nice meeting you all! Take care of Dorji!"
"Goodbye, Lhamo," Dorji said.
"Thanks for the pie!" Sokka shouted.
"Speaking of pie," Tsering said as she walked into the clearing, followed by a few workers bearing a box, a few sacks, and a few tubes. "I have a few gifts for you all." Despite not moving her hands from where they were clasped behind her back, the packages started floating in bubbles of air and were loaded onto Appa. "One of those is the rest of the pie from last night. Eat it before it goes bad. Those bags contain some of our produce, freshly picked." She smiled and stroked Appa's fur. "I'm sure between the sky bison and the three growing teenagers, you'll need them."
"Thanks!" Aang said. "We'll be sure to use them."
Tsering chuckled. "That's not even the thing I figured you'd like the most. The scroll tubes contain, among other things, copies of genuine Air Nomad scrolls."
Aang's eyes widened. He grabbed one of the tubes, one with the Air Nomad sigil on it, and with shaking hands carefully opened it. He reverentially pulled out a pristine scroll that also had the Air Nomad sigil on it. He unfurled it, revealing instructions for advanced airbending techniques. His eyes welled with tears and he quickly rolled the scroll up and put it back before wiping his eyes. "Y-you..."
The old woman smirked at him. "Figured you'd like that. I may not have been too cut out for the whole monk life, but I'm still an Air Nomad. I decided a while back to preserve as much of Air Nomad culture as I could, hopefully for future generations but at the very least to preserve records of my people." She chuckled. "Made a bit of name for myself in the field of anthropology as a result."
"And you're just giving these to me?" Aang asked.
She shrugged. "As I said, they're copies. I made sure to put the originals in safe hands, so don't worry too much if you lose them."
"What are the other scrolls?" Katara asked.
"I also wrote down some techniques Wangchuck and I made that Dorji might want to refresh herself on. And you might want to learn some of those, Aang." Aang looked a little uncomfortable when she said that. "Just a suggestion, kid. There's also some stuff on Air Nomad culture in there that I thought you might like, plus some recipes in case you want something from home. Aside from that, there are a few scrolls on bending the other elements that I've managed to obtain. Figured that as the Avatar you might have more use for those than me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get much more than theory for fire and water, especially because Wangchuck never fucking told me where he put his scrolls, but it's better than nothing, huh?" She smiled at Katara. "Plus I figure you might appreciate it too, Katara. You are a waterbender, are you not?"
Katara nodded. "Thank you."
"I also managed to find a scroll on healing with waterbending. It's not anything you can use in a fight but, well..." Tsering rolled up her sleeve, revealing a faded but still slightly visible burn scar. "Let's just say I speak from experience when I say that healers are the kind of thing that are always great to have around. I'll try to find practical waterbending scrolls to get to you."
Katara bowed. "You've already given us a lot. I'll try to work with what you've given me already."
Tsering shrugged. "Don't worry about it, I've got enough connections that I should be able to get you a few scrolls eventually."
"That stuff's cool and all, I guess, but I don't suppose you have anything I can use?" Sokka asked.
She nodded. "Fair enough. It might not be quite your fighting style, but there are also a few scrolls on chi blocking in there. The art was originally developed by nonbenders to give them an edge against benders. Dorji can teach the basics to you, if you want. And finally, I added in a few scrolls on Earth Kingdom Sign Language."
"Is that that weird hand thing Dorji was doing earlier?" Sokka asked.
Dorji winced and Katara glared at Sokka.
Tsering stared at him flatly. "Little rude to phrase it like that, but yeah. It's good for sneaking around because you have to be pretty fucking bad at it to make noise while doing it. And while it's not my place to tell you why, Dorji sometimes prefers talking in it so it'd be for the best if at least one of you learned enough of it to hold a conversation."
"Thank you, Grandmother," Dorji muttered shyly.
"Right, you all should leave now. Goodbye, Dorji and Aang." She waved them off with a smile.
"What about us?" Sokka asked as Appa started to rise.
She shrugged. "Yeah, I suppose you too." Despite being far away from them at this point and not speaking up at all, her voice traveled perfectly to them.
oOoOo
Aang touched Appa down in a large forest clearing so they could rest for the night. He patted Appa on the head before jumping back onto the saddle. "All right, buddy. Let's see what Tsering got you." He was a little woozy from lack of sleep, but hopefully they'd be sleeping soon so he didn't say anything about it.
Dorji jumped off of Appa and pointed at the ground by his side, making a small circle with her pointing finger. A small cloud of dust kicked up where she pointed. "I'll cushion your fall," she offered.
"Thanks!" Sokka said, then jumped down. When he hit the dust cloud his fall slowed and he fell on his ass with a yelp.
"Sorry," Dorji muttered. She moved her hand to the right slightly, and the dust cloud moved to where she was pointing. She widened her circles, causing the dust cloud to grow larger and wider. "This one should be better, hopefully."
Katara jumped. She also lost her balance when she hit the cloud, but Dorji quickly stepped forward and caught her.
"Thank you," Katara said.
"Y-you're welcome," Dorji said, blushing slightly. She immediately let go of her and stepped back a bit.
"Thanks for catching me, too," Sokka deadpanned as he got up.
"You're welcome," Dorji said.
He looked at her flatly.
Dorji tilted her head and blinked. "Was that sarcasm?" she asked.
Sokka sighed. "Yes, that was sarcasm," he said exasperatedly.
"Ah," she said. She looked a little nervous for some reason. "I'm sorry, I... have trouble with detecting tone, sometimes."
Katara glared at Sokka yet again. "How was I supposed to know that!?" Sokka snapped at Katara.
Katara sighed. "Sorry, you do have a point there. Is there anything else we should be aware of, Dorji?"
Dorji eyes widened. She blushed and gave Katara a very appreciative smile. "I... Sometimes I have... problems processing sounds. It's not too bad anymore, I hope anyway, but please be patient if I need you to repeat things," she muttered.
Katara nodded. "Okay. Is that why your grandmother said you sometimes prefer to use sign language?"
She bit her lip. "It's... part of it. I would also prefer if you faced me while speaking to me, for similar reasons. I can read lips, in case I'm having trouble with hearing."
"How do you read lips?" Sokka asked.
"Lots of practice. Start by looking at lips."
Sokka shrugged. "Fair enough."
Aang jumped off of Appa's saddle after putting the bag of apples he was feeding Appa back. "What're you guys talking about?" he asked.
Katara gave Dorji a look, as if asking her if it was okay to tell him. Dorji nodded to her. "Dorji was telling us about how she has a few... issues with hearing."
"Oh, is that what the sign language was for?" he asked.
Dorji nodded. "I can hear, but I have trouble processing sounds sometimes, if that makes sense," she clarified.
Aang nodded. "I remember one of the boys I grew up with, Dema, had an issue like that too." His face fell. "Dema..."
"I apologize," Dorji said.
"For what?"
Dorji fidgeted. "I... brought up a memory. One that must be painful for you."
Aang shook his head. "No, you didn't even know that'd remind me of Dema."
"Would... would you like something to take your mind off of it?" she offered.
"Thanks!" He smiled at her. "What do you have in mind?"
"If you're going to be fighting the Fire Nation, you need combat skills. Traditional airbending may have had martial arts, but they were mostly restricted to evasion, disengaging, and defense," she explained. She unsheathed one of her daggers and swiped it at a tree off to her side, not even breaking her gaze with Aang. A blade of wind rushed from her blade, slicing a deep gash in the ground as it kicked up a large cloud of dust and slicing the tree almost in half vertically when it hit it. "All of that is good, but you might be a bit lacking in your offensive capabilities, decisively ending a fight." She spun her dagger, then sheathed it. "Shall we begin?"
"I don't feel comfortable with that," Aang said nervously.
"Why not?"
Aang clenched his hands, a sour expression on his face. "That's... That's not airbending."
"Um... Aang?" Sokka put his hand on his shoulder. "Maybe..."
Aang forced his hand off. "No. That's not airbending."
"It is, though," Dorji rebutted. "Well, some of the moves I intend to teach you don't need airbending, but for the one I just showed you? Doing it requires you to stream air along a thin surface, like my daggers or your staff. It might be a little hard at first if you haven't done anything like that, but-"
"That's not what I mean!" Aang shouted. "You're doing it all wrong!"
Dorji sighed. "It's not wrong. Just... different. I understand that it might be upsetting to see such a different style from what you're used to, but... it's not wrong."
"It goes against all of airbending culture!" Aang shouted.
"Aang..." Katara said.
Dorji frowned slightly. "I see. You know, I had always been fascinated with grandmother's scrolls and books about the Air Nomads. Part of it was just that reading was... nice... for me, I will admit, but..." She turned away from Aang and walked a few steps away from him. She stood there for a few seconds, then sniffled and wiped her face. When she turned back around her eyes were a little red. "For a while, I wanted to be like them. They were my people, my ancestors. But at the same time, I was always worried a true Air Nomad would despise me, as I am still my father's daughter, and my father was not a traditional Air Nomad. Thank you for confirming it for me. I told you before, the pacifistic monks of the past died out a century ago. I'm not an Air Nomad. I was never an Air Nomad." She touched one of the green highlights of her clothing. "I was born of the Earth Kingdom. I was raised by the Earth Kingdom. Why should I call myself an Air Nomad?"
Aang's face contorted in anger, then softened slightly. "Fine." He turned around and walked away.
"Fine," Dorji echoed. She pulled the two halves of her father's staff from her belt and started walking towards a large rock.
Sokka and Katara sighed at the same time. "I'll talk to Aang, do you want to talk to Dorji?" Sokka asked.
"That sounds good," Katara agreed.
"Cool." Sokka started climbing back onto Appa, struggling a bit. "Let me just... get something... real quick."
While Sokka was doing that, Katara walked over to Dorji. Wielding the two halves of her father's staff like dual swords due to how long they were compared to her, Dorji swung at the rock with one segment. A wide gash appeared in it despite the fact that the staff never made contact with it. She swung with the other segment, creating a second gash. Next she slashed both, deepening and widening both of the gouges she'd made. She quickly put the two halves of the staff together and started twirling it with insane speed. The wind in the area picked up, and dust clouds flowed towards her staff. She jumped back and threw the staff at the boulder. The spinning staff cut cleanly through the boulder, grinding it in half with little resistance. After it was on the other side Dorji held her hand out to it. The staff shot back, pulverizing the upper half to smaller rocks with pure windy force. Dorji caught the staff and swung it, blowing all the rocks and dust away. She used the momentum of the swing to turn around, jabbing the end of the staff a few inches away from Katara's throat. Tears streamed down the shorter girl's face, and her hands were trembling. The air stilled again.
Katara slowly put her hand on Dorji's shoulder. The airbender stiffened a little, but didn't resist. Katara smiled at her and slowly lowered Dorji's staff with her other hand before pulling her in for a hug. Dorji dropped the staff and started sobbing. "W-why?" she asked. Katara let her go, and she rubbed her eyes. "Why can't I go a day without crying?"
Katara sat down on the remaining part of the boulder, which had conveniently been cut and smoothed into a serviceable, if a little tall, bench by Dorji's practice. She patted a spot next to her and smiled at Dorji, inviting her to sit next to her. Dorji hesitated, but slowly sat down. She tilted her head slightly to Katara, staring at her.
"When my mother died... It was hard on all of us. And the first few days were the hardest. But... it does get easier. And I'm sure I speak for Sokka as well as myself when I say that we will both be here for you when you need a shoulder to cry on." She sighed. "And I'd have hoped that I could say the same of Aang, but now I'm not sure..."
Dorji whimpered.
Katara scowled. "To be honest, I didn't think Aang would blow up like that. I mean, he was a little touchy when he saw what happened to his old temple, but I thought that that was just from seeing the remains of someone he knew..."
Dorji winced. "Did I... some of the things I told Aang must have hurt him. I should apologize." She tried to get up, but Katara put her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't. I think he should apologize first. He's hurting, yes, but he has no right to take that out on you."
Dorji leaned on Katara. She didn't say anything else, but Katara hugged her.
oOoOo
Aang sighed. He sat at the edge of a small lake near where they had landed, prodding at the water with some attempts at waterbending. "Maybe I shouldn't have..."
Sokka slapped him on the back of his head, then sat down next to him. "Yeah, you really shouldn't have." His tone was annoyed.
"I'm so-"
Sokka slung his arm around Aang's back, clamping his hand on his shoulder. "No. You're gonna listen. You lost your people and found out the world crumbled after you left. I can't even imagine how horrible that feels. But." He tightened his grip. "If you even begin to think that gives you a right to dump all that out on a girl you just met, who recently lost her father, that's unforgiveable. Imagine if some old friend of that one monk guy you were fond of... Gyatso, I think, came out of nowhere and told you that you weren't fit to be the Avatar, or even an Air Nomad. That's what you just did to Dorji."
Aang sighed. "You're right. I should never have said that. I... I'm sorry."
Sokka patted his shoulder. "I'm not the one you should be apologizing to, buddy. And first... maybe we should talk a bit. You've got a few issues to work out, clearly."
Aang looked down. "I... I miss them."
"Yeah, that's pretty natural. But what made you lash out at Dorji like that?"
He sighed. "I guess... I'm sure she's not trying to, but she always seems to... remind me they're gone. That I was gone for a hundred years, and my people are long gone." He sniffed and rubbed his eyes. "But... I should never have taken it out on her."
Sokka patted his back. "You know, I know I always complained about the lack of meat and everything, but... If you want to make a traditional Air Nomad dish or something, I'd totally be willing to help." He grinned. "And I'm sure Dorji would, too. But first you gotta apologize to her." He pulled out a scroll. "And I have an idea of something you can do for that."
oOoOo
Dorji had fallen asleep, resting with her head on Katara's shoulder. Katara smiled and stroked her hair gently, as not to wake her. Sokka walked up to her, Aang trailing sheepishly behind.
"I hope you're here to apologize," Katara glared at Aang.
Aang shrank back slightly. "Yeah, I... Shouldn't have taken my feelings out on Dorji." He got out from behind Sokka and faced Dorji. "Dorji, I want to apologize to you," he said, raising his voice to try to wake her up. "My suffering was no excuse for what I said to you. And I was wrong, you may be other things, but you are an Air Nomad, too!"
Dorji, perhaps due to her hearing impairment that she had yet to fully explain to the others, did not react at all to this.
"Maybe you should wait until she wakes up, Aang?" Sokka said.
He nodded. "Right, sorry. Should... should we wake her up or..."
Dorji stirred, then sat up and started rubbing her eyes. "Sorry, did someone try to wake me? You'll need to shake me awake, shouting won't work..." She noticed Aang and stiffened slightly. "R-right. Y-you..." She bit her lip.
Aang placed his hand, a loose fist, on his chest and made a small circular motion with it. The sign, as best he understood the EKSL scroll, for 'sorry.' "I'm sorry," he said, as sincere and contrite as possible. "You reminded me of what I've lost, and I couldn't take that and lashed out at you. But that's not an excuse for how I acted towards you. I understand if you don't forgive me. For what it's worth, you are a real airbender." He smiled. "You are airbending culture, as much as I am. And you have every right to call yourself an Air Nomad."
Dorji sniffed. She rubbed her face, but a few tears fell onto her shirt still. "Th-thank you. And... f-for what it's worth... I'm sorry for hurting you, even if it was unintentional. I'll... I'll try to be more mindful of what I say in the future."
Aang smiled at her. "Thanks. If you want, you could show me that one airbending move. I don't think I'll ever use it on a person, but if I need to cut down a lot of trees really fast I could use it for that?"
She smiled slightly. "Actually... I think I know another move that my grandmother made that might... suit your tastes slightly better. When used on a trained warrior, especially a firebender due to how firebenders train their lungs, it will never cause any lasting damage. And at the same time, it will temporarily disable the person you use it on, especially if they are a firebender."
Aang hugged her. "That sounds great! And later, I can show you some airbending moves of my own!"
Dorji backed up nodded when Aang released her. "I'd like that. But first..." She got into a fighting stance and took a deep breath. "The best way to explain this is with a demonstration. And the best way for you to learn how to do it is to experience it yourself. But I will not do it without your permission, as it can feel... unpleasant."
"Um, is this a good idea?" Sokka asked.
Aang nodded. "Do it. Is there anything I should be paying attention to?"
"Your breath." In a blur, Dorji was suddenly standing inches away from Aang. She paused for just long enough for Aang to focus on her, a rush of wind punctuating her stop, then jabbed him in the solar plexus with two fingers. The amount of force she put into the physical movement was negligible, but Aang still toppled backwards as he felt his lungs empty against his will. He struggled on the ground for a few seconds, finding it hard to regain his stolen breath. Eventually he coughed and shakily took the hand that Dorji had offered him at some point.
"Are you okay, Aang?" Katara asked.
"Gimme... a minute..." he said between pants, a pained grimace on his face as his breathing slowly returned to normal.
"Sorry, I should've mentioned it can be... unpleasant." Dorji said, taking a few steps away from Aang and the others. She looked nervous again.
"No, it's fine," Aang assured her. He chuckled. "I probably should've guessed it wouldn't feel too good, anyway. Still, I can see what you were getting at. And you're sure it doesn't hurt people you use it on?"
She nodded. "Unless you use it on the same person multiple times in a row without letting them breathe, or use it on someone with weak lungs. But a trained soldier should be fine, and the technique will let you take them out of a fight for a few seconds at least, as well as open them up to a finishing move. And most notably, it temporarily disables firebending."
"It disables firebending!?" Sokka parroted, incredulous.
Dorji nodded. "Grandmother made the technique with some principals involved in chi blocking, after performing some... research on firebending." She breathed deeply, in and out, and when she exhaled her breath was very warm. "In fact, she learned that the breathing techniques the Air Nomads used to keep themselves warm in even the coldest of weather were originally based on knowledge given to them by firebenders. Firebending does not come from muscles, but rather the breath. So a technique that disrupts a firebender's ability to breathe..."
"Also disrupts firebending," Sokka finished. "That's... that's amazing!"
"It only lasts a minute or so at best, but it will still throw a firebender off," Dorji continued explaining. "And a master of it can do it from a distance, or even without moving at all, or at least my father and grandmother can. If you need more guidance to learn it, Aang, ask me. But..." Dorji turned to Sokka. "Perhaps you would like to learn chi blocking? You seemed pleased with the concept of disrupting firebending. And it can do more than just disable bending for a few seconds."
He grinned. "That sounds awesome!"
She nodded. "Then let us begin." She collapsed, but still somehow managed to hit the ground lightly. "Tomorrow. I'm tired." She closed her eyes, already asleep.

ATLA Headcanons
(Note that these are strictly ATLA-centric headcanons. Not only have I not seen LOK, but I do kinda consider ATLA and LOK separate canons. Okay? Ok.) (Some headcanons are dumber and sillier than others)
Water~
Waterbenders have a natural resistance to cold. They still need to wear climate appropriate clothing, but cold temperatures don't bother them as much.
It takes slightly longer for waterbenders to die from dehydration.
While waterbenders do like getting wet, they don't like having water suddenly dumped onto them. Like most people, actually.
Being that water is a basic life necessity, waterbenders will die if they are completely cut off from their element.
Waterbenders have a low heat tolerance.
Waterbending/water healing can be used to help those suffering from dehydration by forcing water into the patient's bloodstream.
In mass groups, waterbenders can use their powers to divert floods and tsunamis. They can also help put out fires, and rescue people stuck in floods.
Waterbending can also be used to draw water and fluid from the lungs of drowning victims.
Contrary to what the name implies, bloodbending is not bending of literal blood. It is the bending of water inside living things. Similar to plantbending. The reason why it's so difficult is because plants hold water more directly in their bodies, while most animals hold water in the form of other fluids(like blood or in cells).
Technically pissbending is possible, because pee is mostly fresh water(it still also contains toxic material, so don't drink it folks).
Earth~
Earthbenders are slightly more durable than normal folk.
They tend to prefer to be barefoot as it allows them a closer connection to their element.
While earthbenders do tend to be bulkier and more muscular, their bending strength is in no way connected to their physical strength and muscles.
Earthbenders tend to like being covered in dirt and earth.
People of the Earth Kingdom(benders or not) are considered some of the best at fixing broken bones. That said, bone is too far removed from earth to be bent.
Meteorbending is no more difficult than standard earthbending. Meteors, unlike forged metal has not been removed from nature and would therefore be no more difficult than bending any other rock or ore.
Earthbenders with a seismic-sense(like Toph) can detect earthquakes before they happen.
Earthbenders can be quite useful for rescue and reconstruction after destructive events. They're quite good at removing rubble and saving trapped victims.
A group of earthbenders is called a rumble.
Fire~
Firebenders have a slightly higher heat tolerance than most normal folk.
They tend to be stereotyped as hating water. They don't, but they do hate cold water.
They have a low cold tolerance. Being too cold can weaken their will and therefore bending.
Firebenders that have mastered control of their fire can use their breathing to warm themselves.
They are warmer than most people, and can make great cuddle companions. Unfortunately, firebenders tend to not be cuddly or touchy-feely types. In fact it's not uncommon for firebenders to dislike being touched.
They tend to become even hotter when angered.
Firebenders are prone to being rather intense, and tend to be more ambitious and determined types. They can also be hot-headed, not necessarily vicious or mean, just quick to anger/annoy.
It's generally a bad idea to try and awaken a firebender from a nightmare.
It's an even worse idea to dump water on a firebender suffering from a nightmare.
Firebenders are the only ones who can generate their element, as it exists within them. This is part of what makes them so dangerous.
A firebender's inner fire is spiritual, not physical.
The first firebenders were gifted inner fire by the dragons.
For firebenders, controlling their element is the most important part of their training.
The only way to extinguish a firebender's inner fire is to kill them. It should be noted that Aang removed Ozai's inner fire, rather than extinguishing it.
Firebenders need the sun, it feeds their inner fire. Without it, the inner fire will wither into embers eventually. It will also cause a physical and mental decline, also known as 'Fire Rabies'.
Firebenders like to sunbathe, and cannot be sunburned. Regular burns are entirely possible tho. Just ask Zuko. ;D
Unlike other benders, they don't like being in physical contact with their element. At all.
Cats like firebenders a lot. They are warm. Even if firebenders don't always like cats. :’D
Surprisingly, they are good at handling wildfires. In fact a large group of firebenders working together could take control of a blazing inferno and extinguish it.
Firebenders tend to be good with handling burns and treating burns.
Because of their connection to the sun, they can track it's presence as it moves through the sky. This gives them a rather crude internal clock. So long as it's daytime at least.
They are born with their inner fire, but as with all benders, don't actually start showing any bending ability until about age four or five.
There is nothing funnier than making fun of how serious firebenders are. Especially when it upsets them.
People give firebenders a wide berth and generally distrust them for a long time after the war ends.
Air~
Airbenders tend to be very light on their feet.
As air is nessisary for basic human functioning, completely depriving an airbender of their element would kill them.
Airbenders are also usually very playful and friendly souls, and are generally quite pacifistic.
Those that master air can moderate the temperature of the air around their bodies.
Airbenders are cuddle bunnies and you can't convince me otherwise.
Enough airbenders working together can divert or dismantle storms.
Because airbenders were so detached from the rest of the world, not a lot was known about them. Other than the fact that they existed, were non-confrontational, friendly, and had a good sense of humor.
Non-benders born to Air Nomads were taken to the ground to be raised by regular nomads.
Airbenders/Air Nomads are precious and too good for this sinful Earth.
Nonbenders~
Non-benders are just normal people. They are pretty much the same as you or me.
People without bending often put a ton of work and effort into other fields to make up for a lack of bending. The result is that a lot of nonbenders are skilled enough to take on bending masters.
Avatar~
The Avatar could(at least in theory) fight an entire natural disaster solo.
It's not too uncommon for an Avatar to be a bending prodigy.
Being the Avatar is a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, you basically have the weight of the world on your shoulders. On the other, being the ATLA equivalent of a physical god makes you 500% more attractive to everyone.
Considering the Avatar generally has pretty good publicity, they could theoretically murder someone in cold blood and people would assume the Avatar was in the right.
The Avatar Spirit and the Avatar(human incarnation) are two separate entities. Their spirits are intertwined, but they are not the same consciousness/being.
The Avatar Spirit is the spirit of the world. Killing it would result in the death of the world. Soil would cease to be fertile, the planet would slowly cool from the inside out, the atmosphere would wither away, all in all, it would be the end of all life. (Thank the spirits for Katara!)
The identity of the Avatar Spirit has been lost to the ages. Even most Avatars don't really know who or what it is.
The real reason why the Avatar is so keen on maintaining four separate nations is because the avatar cycle will stop working without clearly defined factions. So really, it's less about the people of the world, and more about the Avatar Spirit needing to ensure it's perpetuation.
While each Avatar has their own personal policy on mercy and whether or not killing can be justified, the Avatar Spirit doesn't give half a shit and will fucking annihilate you without hesitation.
The Avatar Spirit will use any means necessary to protect itself.
Before learning to master it, entering the avatar state is often traumatic for the Avatar.
The Avatar Spirit is a bit of a mama bear towards it's host.

What’s the best moments in Lok for you?
Thanks so much for asking! Actually I made a similar topic on reddit asking other people this very question. I’ll go ahead and link it here but I’ll also copy/paste my response from that topic. It’s a pretty long response so I’ll undercut (because apparently I don’t know how to shut up lol).
For me, I’d have to say these are my favorite moments (two from each book in chronological order): Trust me, this list was pretty hard to narrow down but I think I got it and these are hardly my only favorite moments. Believe me the entire series for me was just awesome)
Book 1 Chapter 1 (Welcome to Republic City) Katara passing the torch on to Korra and her generation. Obvious call back to Katara and Sokka having their “destinies intertwined with [Aang’s]” with their own Gran-Gran sending them on their way. We don’t get a lot of moments between Korra and Katara on screen but it’s pretty apparent that the two of them share a deep bond.
Book 1 Chapter 2 (Leaf in the Wind) during that moment where Korra was about to get knocked of the Pro Bending ring, she finally has her first break through with her Airbending lessons. Just that moment when that triumphant reprise of her theme starts playing and she saves her new friends livelihood was just awesome. I think Shiro Shinobi said it best “Hold the phone! Stop the presses! She’s still in the game folks and she’s moving like an entirely different player! All of a sudden the Polar Bear Dogs’ strikes are only striking air!”
Book 2 Chapters 7 and 8 (Beginnings Part 1 and 2) I’d be remiss here not to mention Avatar Wan’s story. It added SO MUCH depth to not just The Legend of Korra but for Avatar: The Last Airbender as well. From learning about how humans were able to gain the knowledge of the elements (Lion Turtles) to seeing little call backs to the original show (Wan learning the true ART of BENDING the element of Fire from the Dragon Spirit with the Dragon Dance rather than just merely being a guy who can toss fire around becoming the very first true Firebender), to his journey with Raava and his battle with Vaatu and everything. It really does hammer home what Avatar Yangchen said (ATLA: Escape From the Spirit World) about the Avatar being reborn human in order to better connect with humans and their emotions. Before Raava met Wan she didn’t really hold humans in high regard despite being the spirit of light and was very disconnected with them. By being reborn as a human over and over again, she is reminded of how precious ALL life is and can be better connected with humans. It really was a beautiful story and it helps Korra truly realize that there’s more to the Avatar than being cool and powerful. I always felt that in a way this was the true start of Korra’s spiritual journey.
Book 2 chapter 14 (Light in the Dark) That moment when Tenzin can finally be the spiritual mentor for Korra that she needs. He tells her all about the tree of time and for the first time is able to help her start seeing the power and value of her OWN life and inner spirit. That she isn’t just good or valuable simply because she’s the Avatar and that he refused to not give up on her and more importantly refused to let HER give up on herself.
But my favorite moment came when she sat down and meditated herself with that beautiful musical piece playing in the background and then she energybends her OWN spirit (with the power magnified by the massive flow of spiritual energy caused by Harmonic Convergence) and basically hands Unalaq his butt (at least until she stopped to look for Raava). Basically this entire episode was one of my favorites because it shows Korra truly beginning to step out of the shadows of her predecessors and opting to forging her own path for the world (similarly to how Aang eventually had to learn that the old regime of having the four nations separated wasn’t going to work for the world anymore). Korra finds some balance with her own personal relationships too and both she and Mako realize that they weren’t right for each other and decide to end their romance for good. I also loved how her speech mirrored Avatar Wan’s. Wan’s decision to close the portals didn’t go smoothly either as we see the montage of people constantly fighting and raging war and disrespecting the spirits and what have you. Then at the end we see Wan died lamenting the fact that despite his best efforts he really couldn’t do anything for the world and that there “wasn’t enough time”. I’m just pointing out that laying out the ground work for a new era is never easy and just like Wan before her, Korra will have (and did have by the looks of books 3 and 4) a hard time getting things going in a favorable way for people (and spirits) too.
Book 3 Chapter 11 The Ultimatum Just Tenzin, Kya, and Bumi vs The Red Lotus! EPIC! They were all holding their own until Zaheer separated Tenzin from his siblings. Then Tenzin vs Zaheer showed us very clearly who the master airbender was and had Zaheer not lured Tenzin in P'Li’s line of sight (and the other Red Lotus members gaining up on him) Zaheer would have been completely owned. Just his utter conviction in this fight was just awesome and shows just how much he cares about Korra.
Book 3 Chapter 13 Venom of the Red Lotus This entire episode was just as awesome as it was heartbreaking. I can’t really pin point a “favorite” moment in this episode because the entire thing was just…from poor Korra sacrificing herself and enduring an immense amount of pain just to keep the newly formed air nation alive (and showing both the audience and Zaheer that the latter REALLY should be grateful that Korra was weakened by the poison in that berserk avatar state mode), to Jinora finally being recognized for the airbending master she’s been looking SO MUCH like her late grandfather when he was a child was just….I still have to fight off tears every time I hear the musical piece service and sacrifice both for Korra and her terrible ordeal and Jinora and her newly acquired (official) airbender master status.
Book 4 Chapter 2 Korra Alone was just a beautifully told story about recovery and how long and frustrating the process can be. This is probably my favorite episode in the entire LoK story. Right up there with Beginnings for me. We were able to see Korra’s “strong, unyielding and fierce” spirit in action (quoting Tenzin from book 2 finale). Just her sheer determination to get better and rise back to the top no matter what hurdles were thrown her way was just phenomenal. With this episode we were able to see just how far she’s come from the book 3 finale and just how far she still has to go. From her struggles with learning to walk again, from her psychological struggles with fighting, to her reaching out to Asami willingly about her struggles, to Korra journeying all over the world to find some way to reconnect with Raava. Just that drive to get better was just nothing short of amazing.
Book 4 Chapter 13 (The Last Stand) Korra TANKING the Avatarverse equivalent of an atomic bomb explosion single handed to save her enemy in the ultimate display of empathy when hardly anyone in universe would have blamed her for letting Kuvira die. Korra’s always been a compassionate person but she’s never been able to truly empathize with her enemies by seeing bits of herself in them. Just compare her denial of her and Tarrlok having anything in common to her directly declaring that same notion herself to Kuvira in her finale. Shows just how much she’s changed over the years.
I also liked her official relationship upgrade with Asami. For me, it wasn’t because of LGBT+ representation (though despite being straight I understand why it’s significant) but because of what it meant for both Korra and Asami and how organically interwoven it was throughout the latter two books. It’s something I went in more depth about here and here.

Have you ever done the batfam as benders in the Avatar world?
actually, @littleamericanduck and I threw around this AU for a while (Bren I still have those conversations in my inbox) which was great fun so I’ll just pull the basics from that. We kept everything the same: Gotham, the technology just… some people have bending.
Bruce- Non-bender but an expert fighter. I read an AMAZING ATLA fic where there was this fighter who was an expert in all 4 bending styles without any bending and that’s what I picture B as. He goes out and does the whole ‘justice things’ using all sorts of bending moves and other techniques without any ability. Still kick-ass and very frustrated with his crazy bending children. All the kids specialize in their area but are taught all styles but B.
Alfred- Bren and I talked about this, I was really taken by the idea of firebending Alfred. He was a warrior and a hotshot back in the day and was content to spend his days using his abilities to only light candles. But once he got drafted into Bruce’s war on crime, well old habits die hard. Taught B a lot of his moves and how to disarm benders. Helped Jason control his fire when he first came. A warm, gentle presence most of the time but the sparks fly when his family tries his very generous patience.
Dick- Everyone wants to say air but, to me, Dick has all the traits of a waterbender: calm but persistant, able to divert and adapt, both a calming presence and a cold storm so Dickie is a waterbender. Bruce had no idea what to do with this kid and his insane magic water (maybe the Grayson’s were a bending troupe? That’d be cool) so he trains him. An immensely skilled bender in costume, downplays his bending in public. Learned mostly from B but also trained with other masters. Also his escrima sticks are frozen ice sticks that he can use and bend and it’s hella cool just imagine.
Jason- firbender, no surprise. Used it harshly and dirtily as a child, never really took the time to master it or his emotions so his fire was imprecise and all over the place. Bruce and Alfie helped to tame the fire in him so it obeyed him and he became quite adept with it. Still too harsh for B’s tastes and a few too many criminals got nasty burns. Jay was burned and blown up in the warehouse which gave him seriously problems when he came back. He had a hard time conjuring his fire bc he kept seeing the fires that killed him. Spent years training in non-bending combat liek B to compensate so Red Hood was truly anoymous until he struck until instinctually with one of Alfred’s moves. Now that he’s closer in the fam, learning to be comfortable with his bending again and reign in his ever present temper which was only exacerbated by the Pit.
Babs- Non-bender like B, Dick used to look down on her for it but Barb quickly put the wtaerbender in his place. Basically everything is the same except she has to deal with water all over her apartment and singe marks on her walls and wind constantly in her face and dirt everywhere. She and B commiserate together.
Cass- I’m not sure, I’m tempted to say chi blocking non-bender again who was honed by Cain to be a fighting machine capable of taking down basically everyone but also i kind of like the idea of her being a waterbender too but, like Tim, was discouraged from using it. She later develops this ability with Dick but still doesn’t use it much, only when she feels comfortable. Either way, she’s a chi-blocker and will not hesitate to fuck up her brothers and temporarily paralyze them or take their bending. They fear her for this but also so much love and respect.
Tim- Hear me out, airbender Tim. Light hearted but a bit detached from the world, calm but hiding a tempest within, rather avoid and evade conflict, outthink rather than outfight. Airbenders are super rare, not found in families but just popping up out of nowhere in families. The Drakes are a prominant non-bending family and thought bending was “beneath” Tim so they didn’t register him. Hid his abilities out of shame for years, even from Bruce when he first became Robin. But he could only hide it so long before it came out. Bruce trained Tim then sent him off to prominant airbenders to teach him to love his bending. Not as flashy as the others, uses it precisely (lightly avoid attacks, push/pull things) but he is also capable of immense storms when prompted.
Steph- Earthbender hella, strong, stubborn and dependable. Because she’s a bender things vigilanting will be easy but Tim quickly proves her wrong. Still he takes the time to train her in what B taught him, secretly confides in his airbending abilities before anyone else. Despite being opposite elements, they get on super well complimenting each other’s movements. Studies bending on her own, takes classes and improves thanks to Tim’s help. B is still annoyed but eventually gives her better training as Robin. She’s still sloppy, doesn’t always take her abilities seriously but she’s always there to back people up, steady and immovable like the earth.
Dami- Also an earthbender. I can see the Al Ghul family being this intense earthbending dynasty, connected to the earth and desiring to spare it from modern society. Bruce again doesn’t know how to deal with this child with his abilities so he doesn’t. Dick steps up to the plate and mentors Damian. Dami had only know hard, unyielding earth but now gets to know cool waters and forgiving waves. Unconsciously adjusts his earthbending style with more waterbending techniques to create a unique, powerful style. Also bonds with Steph over being the only two earthbenders and part of his antagonism with Tim is the difference in the opposing elements.
It’s a fun AU, I still think my favorite part though is all the kids, one of each element like to band together and pretend someone is the avatar. One time they schemed together and made it look like Batman was bending all four elements and you bet at least 3 villains collapsed and crime went down to nothing for about a week. Jason is still laughing his ass off over it.

i wrote something like a year and a half ago
The Hermit of Fuchong
It all started with Yoongi's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather. Basically, he knocked up an Earth Kingdom girl, claimed monks couldn't have earthly attachments, then fucked off to parts unknown. But then, from what Yoongi understood of Air Nomad customs, that was par for the course. The male and female monks shacked up once a year for a week in the spring, then the resulting children were shipped off, to the north and south temples if they were boys or to the opposite temple of their mother if they were girls, and nobody had any earthly attachments (or parents). The little Yoongi knew of the secretive (and extinct) Air Nomads, he had learned from his mother. She had heard it from her father, who had heard it from his mother, and so on, tracing their lineage all the way back to the rather vivacious Earth Kingdom girl from Fuchong who had charmed (and been charmed) by an Air Nomad from the Northern Temple. ("It's all men who live in that temple," he had said. "It gets a bit lonely, with just the wind for company." What a load of ostrich-horse shit.) That had been eight generations ago - eight generations and Yoongi has the shit luck to be the first descendant who could actually airbend.
His father had been taken by the war and his mother taken not long after that by grief. They hadn't even known he could bend; he bent for the first time three years after his mother's death, at ten years old. Maybe that was late; the few earthbenders he'd known had all been bending by eight at the latest, and there were stories that the Fire Nation's imperial firebenders first bent at two years old. So maybe it was late, but who the fuck knew what was normal for a damn airbender? He had done his best to train his bending, to make it be of some use, but he had no master, no scrolls, not even a vague idea of what airbending forms looked like. And just his fucking luck, his bending was strong. Too strong to be untrained in the middle of a village where they all lived on top of each other; he'd either hurt someone or get found out by the Fire Nation. So he thought, maybe he could live at the air temple? There had to be some way the monks grew food and got water, and he wouldn't be bothering anyone (and no one would be bothering him).
So much for that idea; just his luck to be an airbender who was afraid of heights. Maybe, he thought, if he were actually any good at airbending, he could overcome his fear. As it was, the only thing his airbending would do during his (inevitable) fall to his death was create a hideous shrieking wind that would alert everyone to his stupidity (and the location of his corpse). But he did find several nice clearings and relatively dry caves halfway up the mountain. He could probably grow most of his food on his own, and he didn't eat much meat anyway. The village was in the foothills, the temple on top; wasn't it right that he, with blood from both, lived in the middle?
So Fuchong gained a mountain hermit. He lived there in relative peace and solitude for a few years. By then he had figured out a few things, like how to scare off animals that he didn't want near him or how to keep a cool breeze on his skin during the hot summer months. Some days he liked to climb (just a little higher, mind you) to a waterfall a few hours from his hut, and there he'd spend the day, feeling the way the breezes moved with the heat from the sun and the cool of the earth and the flow of the water.
Then, everything changed when some fools who couldn't even airbend at all decided that living on top of a mountain was a reasonable thing to do. He saw their party go up the mountain, struggling through the steep passes, and, eventually, smoke started rising from the temple. All that was none of Yoongi's business, of course. If he sometimes watched the figures gliding through the air (gliding through the air! They weren't even benders!) from his waterfall, well, it would take extra effort to go out of his way to ignore them. If, sometimes, one of the figures seemed about to fall out of the sky as the wind dropped out from under them and Yoongi created an updraft under their wings, that's because he came out to this damn mountain to practice his airbending in the first place. It wasn't his fault those flying fools got in the way sometimes. Besides, if one of them fell the rest would be down the side of the mountain looking for them, and they'd probably bother him. So he was just saving himself the effort, in the long run.
Really.
But then one of the little assholes had to come down his side of the mountain.
"Are you an airbender?"
Was this kid for real?
"I mean- thank you." Yoongi continued to fix the kid with an unimpressed stare. "Um, it's just- we've all had times where we almost fell? Off our gliders? And then the wind changes direction and- and then we, uh, don't. Fall."
"Airbenders don't exist anymore, kid. Ask anyone."
"I know!" said the kid defensively. "We won't tell anyone. But if you need something, we grow a lot of things and we're just up the path-"
"I don't need anything from you." The kid wilted. "But thanks."
Just looking at a smile that wide made Yoongi exhausted.
Somehow, even though he had told them he didn't need anything (several times, explicitly), there was a little pack of ankle-biters who invaded his home ("It's called visiting, Sifu!") every two to three weeks. For airbending lessons. Like it was somehow his job to make sure they didn't crack their fool skulls open, flying around on homemade gliders ("What other kind of glider is there, Sifu?"). But still, no amount of dirty glares and pointed silences drove them off, so it was ultimately less effort to just ignore them and let them get what 'teachings' he was supposedly giving them. If they got something out of watching him garden and meditate at the waterfall and write poetry, he guessed he couldn't stop them. And sometimes, they asked him questions about air currents that any person with any damned common sense would know, and he couldn't let them jump off the top of a mountain not even knowing about how wind moved in a rain storm. They might fall and splatter all over his garden, and his yams were just coming in.
Years passed, and soon the time Yoongi had lived with the fools in the temple was longer than his time on the mountain alone. It was all nice and peaceful, there on his side of the mountain, even with the brats disturbing the peace and giggling all over the place. Then one day in late fall, a brat came to visit, looking uncharacteristically (worryingly) serious.
"Teo said to tell you," Li Ling said, "that the Avatar is up in the temple right now."
Yoongi looked up from his water skin slowly. "There is no Avatar."
"I know," she said, "but it's really him, Sifu. He's an airbender with a glider and everything, but he can make wind, too, and he can waterbend. I saw it!"
Yoongi stood up from the riverbank, brushing off his knees. "Why are you telling me? What do I care about an Avatar, whether he can waterbend or not?"
"Well, he's- You know. He's an airbender," said Li Ling.
Yoongi began walking back to his hut.
"And you're an airbender, Sifu!" she cried, running up behind him. "He's like you, you can finally be with your people and learn about your culture!"
"Airbenders don't exist anymore. Ask anyone. And I don't have any 'people' or 'culture' to learn about. I'm where I'm supposed to be, unlike some brats I could name."
Li Ling looked up at him uncertainly. "Teo said to tell you, to ask if you wanted us to tell Avatar Aang about you or not, but-"
"Definitely 'or not'."
"But he's like your family, Sifu-"
"I don't have any family, anymore. And, as a matter of fact, Air Nomads don't have any family, either. Me and this Avatar are nothing to each other and I don't want him bothering me. Now that I think about it, I don't want you bothering me, either. Don't you have a cliff to jump off?"
Yoongi glanced over his shoulder to see Li Ling, eyes watering and fists clenched. "You don't even know him, Sifu. He's only twelve and he's so lonely, seeing that airbenders don't live in the temple anymore. He misses his old friends, other airbenders, and I know another airbender would-"
"That sounds like his problem. Besides, airbenders don't-"
"-exist anymore, ask anyone," Li Ling finished, rolling her eyes. "I know, Sifu. But he's all alone."
"So am I. Or I try to be," Yoongi said, stopping at the door to his hut and turning to face the brat. "I am absolutely sure that meeting me wouldn't help this kid at all. You probably know more about his culture than I do, living up in that temple. I'm just an Earth Kingdom citizen who lives in a hut on a mountain. I have nothing to offer him, and I have what I need." He turned her around, pressing a hand between her shoulders and pushing. "Now go. Listen to this Avatar's sob stories, make pie, do whatever it is you do when you're not tormenting me."
Li Ling grudgingly pulled her glider from her back, opening its wings. "I won't tell him if you don't want me to. That's really what Teo wanted me to find out."
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "You think I didn't know that? Now get out of my sight, brat."
She took off with a huff and the help of what might be called an unusually strong wind. Yoongi found these kinds of winds convenient, as they saved him the trouble of walking the brats to the nearest cliff. Those kind of breezes happened all the time on a mountain, Yoongi reasoned. Nothing strange about that for her to prattle on about.
Besides, airbenders didn't exist anymore. Ask anyone.
