Hello! I have been wondering, if you were not asked before: what was the inspiration for the Mirage's dimension worldbuilding? It was truly peculiar and original look into TF au worldbuilding as whole, I was mesmerized.

...the original plan for 2938 Cybertron. Originally it was going to be an insecticon-riddled wasteland. The video game that Rodimus plays with Soundwave, Hostile Planet II, had his game character running away from insecticons as foreshadowing for this original idea. But as I got closer to the Firelove arc, I thought it would be more interesting to go the “stark wasteland” route, instead of the “insecticons are eating everything” route. I did a twitter poll and “stark wasteland” won, so I thought… let's try it.

in terms of how did I get to "sterilized world"? I... don't remember :'D I might have the train of thought written down somewhere in my hundreds of pages of notes. I think I was trying to think of 1) something that hadn't been done before, but was 2) still really horrific despite being "clean."

Now if you meant the whole "crystals determine everything about their society, including their language," that grew out of thinking A LOT and really hard about what it would mean for that to be so. Crystals were a huge part of the fic, so I just... leaned super hard into it, haha.

2938 Megatron shows the reader what Soundwave could become. That grotesque hunger for knowledge... idk, it just feels natural that it could come from a society bound up in layers and layers of meaning and expression.

Nyoomer I’m thinking of starting my own Fic, what tips do you have for me? 💪🫶🫶

and i mean it!! i say this every time y'all ask me for fic writing tips, but you're doing this for fun! the number one most important thing is that you make whatever you personally want; if any of my writing tips - or the tips you see from others online - don't vibe with you, then just ignore them, even if it means writing in a way that other people call "wrong" or whatever. it isn't wrong if it makes you happy!

that being said, here's some tips that work for me personally, put under the cut since it's a bit of a text heavy post -

if you want to put a character in a Situation but feel like it might be unrealistic or OOC for that character to act in that way, you don't necessarily have to give up on the situation or think about how to change the situation to match the character's personality. instead, think about what might have to happen to the character in order for them to change to match the situation. example: normally Character A would not risk their life for Character B. but what if Character A owed Character B their life? what if Character A had just suffered a massive loss that made them take on some self destructive tendencies? what kind of mental state would Character A have to be in to risk their life when they normally wouldn't?

if something isn't fun for you to write, don't bother writing it, because chances are it won't be fun to read either. think about how you can communicate the same information without writing out the full scene, or if you even need to communicate the information at all. example: if you're slogging through a scene describing how a character gets from Point A to Point B, step back and consider if it's important that the readers know exactly how it happened, or only that it did happen. if you're trying to communicate that the journey was difficult, would it be effective to skip to Point B and then focus on how worn out or emotionally distraught your character is now that they're there?

when you plan out a scene, keep in mind what the characters should be getting out of it, whether that's information, a problem to solve, or a change in the character's world view/relationships. this will help keep the scene focused and character driven, which - personally - i find most enjoyable. example: if this is a scene that is meant to simply deliver information to the characters, then you can figure out the specifics of your scene by asking: who would this character trust to deliver the information? if it's not information that would normally incite an emotional response, can you change that based on context?

i hope those help a bit!! i also wrote some more general writing tips here in the past, and some tips on getting the motivation to finish/post fics here. i'm also happy to give tips on specific things if you ask!

Hiiii not sure if anyone's asked this yet but any advice on how to improve on art & anatomy? I use to draw a lot wayyyy back in high school but then stopped because of life getting in the way but now I really wanted to get back into art but realized my art isn't as good as it use to be & I never really cared too much about studying anatomy so all my anatomy/proportions are really wack & I'd like to get better at it. HI!!! i dont have any formal training in anatomy nor have i really done any studies, so unfortunately i think i can only offer general advice, but hopefully you can still find it helpful! here's what i'd recommend based on my own experience...

focus on proportions BEFORE anatomy! nailing down the size/length of each body part in relation to each other will give you a good foundation before getting into the specifics of anatomy, since you can practice this with simple shapes (circles, boxes, tubes, etc.). then practice anatomy/build on top of that, rather than trying to figure them out in parallel

practice from real life observation/references (ex. figure drawing)! even if you want to draw stylized, it'll be much more helpful in the long run if you study from real life. you'll be a lot more informed in how body parts actually connect to each other or how they move. observe observe observe! take pics of yourself/watch how your body moves--you can be your own most accessible resource, and a mirror and camera can be your best friends

find a way to keep yourself motivated to practice anatomy! everyone says that you only get better with practice and time... and it's true! but i can understand that sometimes it's hard to motivate yourself. if you ask me, draw your favorite characters :) it's literally all i do HAHA. my mentality is that... if i'm drawing something that i like then the practice feels less of a chore lol

so hey she isn't really a sonic character yet but I would like to request my character be in MISC PRIME ( shale the lynx) and she has her own shatter space called, well its not called anything yet and its empty,nothing in it , just black emptiness she glows white when she enters it everyone else turns black. you can look at her character if you just search her name then some of my posts will come up, scroll down to the last one and that will show you who she is, she is friends with shadow rouge and treats rascal like a younger sis she enjoys races with sonic and likes trying to confuse knuckles with worthless arguments (hehe XDD) and ya i don't have any ideas for the villain in it, many its villainness but she is kind'ov mean sometime she also goes into wild fits of meanness and she is kind of like a monster/demon inside and it's kind ov eating away at her feelings

so ya that's everything you have to know besides her character sheet enjoy the idea

This is a fun idea, but unfortunately, Misc Prime is a very important part of my Miscellaneous AU. Prime focuses on character analysis, and has a pivotal moment for Shadows character. The cast is limited to the 5 because those are the most important characters. More information on it can be found in its associated tags.

(This fic is a fucking delight, it's just KEEPS feeding you "oh shit" moments and suspense and revelations and the pacing just keeps you on the edge of your SEAT. Again, IGNORE the WIP status I BEG OF YOU, read it, devour it)

This Rough Magic by @avelera (Mature - WIP - 36k so far - Rescue fic with a twist) Hob Gadling never fancied himself a mage or a warlock, but dabbled enough in the occult to pick up a few tricks over the years, all in the hope to communicate with his Stranger. A stranger, he later discovers, who is trapped under Roderick The Fucking Magus Burgess's manor. Now, he may not be the best magic wielder there is.... but Burgess doesn't know that, does he? (There are some VERY clever things in this fic, everyone is written to a T, I love a fic where my loathing of Burgess can burn from the brightest flame and at the same time have him not like a cartoon villain but a full human being! Can't wait to see where that goes!)

(The tags make it sound super raunchy but it's more about developping attraction through someone's voice and getting to know someone through the phone and falling in love and.... it's just lovely, it's very sweet, it's like a little blanket with a warm cup of tea, really)

Now I KNOW this is not what you EXPLICITELY asked for but.... dare I suggest..... something with an OC thrown in the mix? Cause that's just adding a fun player to the game, with added stakes, really!

Dream tries his darnest to hate her, and finds he can't quite bring himself to. (It's soft, it's lovely, it has angst, it has smut, it has fluff for days, it has developping relationships GALORE (plural) and it's just a nice read to switch up your rotation, cause the potential for situations is tripled now!)
