Tuvoktober Day 8: In which B'Elanna and Janeway visit Tuvok's home post-Voyager [Patreon | Commissions]
Tuvok's home laid flat and still at the very edge of what went on to be a vast and barren desert as far the eye could see. His neighbors were few and far between but one could see a temple's tower in the distance and smell incense in the air and these two things seemed more significant than any houses within view.
The sight of it filled B'Elanna with dread which only amplified upon entry: A home like a shrine, where all of its inhabitants were expected to behave as devout worshippers reminded her very much of her own post-childhood home on Qo'noS, with her mother, and the smell of incense turned her stomach. "This way," Tuvok said. The interior was no better. It was dark, warm, and quiet in that house and as B'Elanna stared out the floor-length windows at the desert she was struck by a horrible feeling that she'd been eaten, some sort of sacrifice, and she wanted to scream - to break the spell.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" The captain asked, looking lovingly at the stuffed shelves and worn walls. "Nothing changes here."
