But the fact that 🐟 had to post a welcome card for a movie that finished filming a year ago (and is now doing reshoots) tells me she really is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

This isn’t to be mean/judgemental - but it’s funny how this time last year she was so busy vacationing after however long she was filming - and it seemed like her focus was on her travels with her besties.

She didn’t post about working when the film was actually in production (but maybe that’s because it was during the strike and this film was exempt and allowed to keep filming but the actors couldn’t promote?) so that’s fair.

But no matter how you look at it, this girl’s priorities are always out of whack.

Your priorities are always for things that have nothing to do with you (literally) but gets you free press, comped outfits, and media attention.

You didn’t show up to your small PT’s film showing at the Lisbon film festival when your husband was in town touring restaurants, but you do show up to a GQ event two weeks later that has nothing to do with you and you refused to talk to reporters.

Just my two cents, I think her career ended the day she did the speedwalk in NYC. And I can only judge her work ethic and her social media behavior. We don't know how many auditions she did. I think she went to some auditions but I doubt she was so busy and had to travel between NYC and LA the whole time. In my opinion, she thought the title girlfriend/wife is the door opener and she doesn't need to do anything, she would get job offers. She was so wrong. In one of her last Portuguese interviews she said she's selective when it comes to new roles. That's just a nicer excuse why she's unemployed at the moment. There are no job offers.

Oh and let's assume she couldn't post anything about MM due to the strike. Why didn't she interact with the choreographer or other cast members or the crew? Interactions on social media were allowed. But interesting that she's now kissing asses and showing that people like her.

i don't think that it was accidental that the narration of the virgin suicides was done by a teenage version of one of the men recounting the events of the movie. the story is being told 25 years after the fact, yet we don't hear the voice of a older man. there are far less "interruptions" in the movie than there are in the book, some of these being trip's interview in the rehab facility & the "making us happier with dreams than wives" line.

we know from the beginning that the following scenes occurred over two decades ago but it really only feels like it's been a few months if not a couple years. given the fact that we never see or hear any of the men ( except for trip ) during the story's retelling, it really encapsulates the intensity of the infatuation they have for the lisbon girls. their obsessive fantasy is so great that they regress to their teen years instead of simply reflecting on the past. we never actually see them sorting through photos & miscellaneous items previously owned by the girls, never see their families, never see them running into each other at business meetings or cocktail parties & going over the evidence one more time

u get so caught up in the dreaminess of the film that u forget that these are grown men with wives that continue to obsess over deceased teenage girls

Queen Rania of Jordan celebrates her 53rd birthday on 31 August 2023

The Royal Court has released two new portraits of Queen Rania for the happy occasion.

The past year featured a number of joyous occasions for the Hashemites: the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein, the wedding of Princess Iman, the university graduation of Princess Salma, and the high school graduation of Prince Hashem.

In the days and weeks preceding their children’s weddings, Their Majesties were eager to share their happiness with their country’s people, involving the Jordanian public in the various celebrations marking the marriages of their first-born son and eldest daughter.

Her Majesty hosted a Henna party for Princess Iman, as well as a dinner party held in honor of the Crown Prince’s wife, Princess Rajwa, where the Queen and members of the royal family were joined by women from across Jordan’s 12 governorates to celebrate the two happy occasions. Both events spotlighted the richness of Jordanian culture and included several folkloric musical and dance performances by local female artists.

Throughout the year, Queen Rania continued to follow up on issues of importance to the Jordanian public by carrying out a number of visits to charitable associations, home-based businesses, startups, and other organizations across the country’s cities, villages, and rural areas.

A celebrated advocate for women and youth, Her Majesty’s local engagements included meetings with women artisans and young entrepreneurs, as well as visits to a number of women-led initiatives and associations supporting women’s financial empowerment.

In her capacity as a member of the Earthshot Prize Council, the Queen delivered remarks at the first-ever Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, hosted in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. In her speech, Her Majesty called for mobilizing collective action and ingenuity to repair the planet, cautioning against claiming that “climate change is somebody else’s problem,” or leaving it for future generations to address.

This year, Queen Rania continued to use her global platform to advocate on behalf of refugees in Jordan and beyond. The Oberoi, Gurgaon is a luxury hotel in Gurgaon, the business hub on the outskirts of capital New Delhi. Owned by Gurgaon-based developers Orbit Resorts the owner is Parkash Singh Badal and managed by The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts chain, it was built at a cost of ₹4 billion (US$50 million) and opened on 13 April 2011 catering mainly to business travellers. The hotel is situated right next to the Trident Hotel property close to NH-8, also under a management contract with Orbit Resorts.[2][3]

In January 2012, it became the first Indian luxury hotel to be named, "the World's Leading Luxury Hotel for 2011", at the annual 'World Travel Awards'.[4] Previously in December 2011, CNNGo named it amongst, "11 Indian hotels to visit in 2012".[5]

So, I didn't want to say anything last night when there was so little verified information. My safe feeling of home was violated last night with the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine. While that is not my town, it really isn't all that far from where I live, just about an hour or so from me, it isn't uncommon for Mainers to drive large distances daily for work, school or shopping, so an hour is really nothing in the grand scheme of things.

So, firstly, to my friends, followers, and lovely mutuals... we are safe. Both my sister and I are home safe and all our family and friends are currently safe.

Next, to the facts:

The suspect's name is Robert Card, a 40 year old Weapon Instructor who lives in the nearby town of Bowdoin.

At current, 18 people have died and an additional 13 are injured, though the extent of their injuries are unknown.

The shootings happened at a bowling alley, where there were bowling leagues playing, and a bar, where there was an event to celebrate those within the bar and restaurant industry.

His car was found at a boat launch in Lisbon Falls late last night.

At current, 8:15 pm, there is a house surrounded in Bowdoin, where they believe the suspect might be holed up, but this is UNCONFIRMED. There is roughly 100 local and national, and possibly international at this point, reporters nearby on scene, but this is all still active, so I wish safety to them all.

Currently, there are already schools and businesses that have decided it isn't in their best interests to open tomorrow, my own campus being one of them. LLBean was closed today, and I believe will be closed tomorrow, and I genuinely can't remember the last time they were closed for the whole day outside of COVID mandate. For those of you who don't know, LLBean's Flagship store is open 24/7, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day. And while shopping is the least of my concern, the fact that it has changed and forced us that extra bit out of our norm is that much more unsettling.

Even weirder that HE's been spotted many times this whole time alone or w/Dodger, family & friends but nothing with her. // I’m struggling to think what “many” sightings are being referenced here? I can recall a few off-the-set solo sightings of him over the last year, but not many. Re: your similar point not spotting them in friends’ pictures or posts, can you think of any photos that his friends or family have posted this year which feature even just Chris (no Alba)? Cause I can’t.

On the other hand, there were alleged sightings made by a journalist in Lisbon in May, and a Twitter sighting of him in Vancouver in June, but these are often discounted because they don’t fit people’s theories. Tara followed Alba in late June and commented on one of her posts in July. Chris was filming from late August onward, and we know Alba was in ATL beginning in September because of the yoga course (as much as people will protest otherwise). Earlier in the year, we know her IG location was in the US for all of February / part of March. (Yes, I acknowledge knowing all this overkill. It’s why I take weeks-long breaks from Tumblr. 😆)

I dunno, I’m curious about examples of the holes you see in the timeIine cause I’m not seeing them tbh. The only one I can maybe see is Shanna’s wedding, but if I were in Alba’s shoes I might’ve sat that event out so as not to steal thunder. Imagine the fandom abuse Shanna could’ve gotten following such a joyful day, or the news articles a couple sighting might’ve spawned. There actually were a few photos of him in friend’s posts from this year where he is pictured and she isn’t there. But on the reverse side of that, I think these photos all came at the same time she was knowingly preoccupied with other things. Examples: Tara posted a photo with him from his LA home before The Gray Man premiere. His friend Chelsea posted a photo from a mutual friend’s wedding over the summer plus a golf outing. I think Scott’s boyfriend Steve also posted some cute photos from the Lightyear premiere to his story. I remember thinking it was sweet he was still invited along to join the family even though Scott couldn’t be there. But I believe all of those line up with the same time she was doing Mrs. Harris press?

I also think it’s entirely possible for her to had visited him while he was filming and go essentially undetected. I really don’t think she’s very recognizable to the public at all.

The only issue I have with the Vancouver sighting is that it apparently took place in a mall? Unless I’m confusing that with some other sighting. I just feel like if he was in such a public place that at least someone would have snapped a picture that would have ended up on twitter or something? It’s so hard to know when sightings are real or not anymore when there are so many trolls running around the fandom these days. I feel like I don’t remember the May Lisbon sighting at all, but I don’t doubt the sighting didn’t happen. So much has happened that it’s easy to lose track of. I was also doing a huge home renovation at the time, so I was only occasionally popping in to see what was going on, and I’m sure I missed things because of that.

I do think it makes sense that she didn’t attend his sister’s wedding if they were together. If anyone remembers, I actually played devil’s advocate back then and pointed out that it didn’t make sense for her to fly in when they wouldn’t be able to spend time together. He literally flew in for that weekend only and went right back to filming. He was also a part of the wedding party. Anyone who has been in a wedding party knows how busy you are the entire weekend. There really isn’t much time to spend with a significant other if they’re also not in the wedding party. It’s essentially only part of the reception and that’s it. If she had flown in, they barely would have had any time together that entire weekend between the festivities and returning back to set. So if they were together, I don’t find it odd that she didn’t go for that reason alone. But I also completely agree with you about not going to avoid stealing Shanna’s thunder. If she was there and had been spotted, it would have been articles galore about Chris and Alba. I just can’t see him being the type of person to steal the spotlight from Shanna on her big day like that.

Where I get a little stuck on things is the photo we received of her over the summer with another man. While it doesn’t prove she was dating that guy, it’s still pretty close for two people to be if one of them is in a relationship with someone else. I certainly wouldn’t be happy with my husband if he was wrapped around another woman that way. He’d have a lot of explaining to do 😂 that’s the one kink in the story I can’t really get past. It’s what makes me wonder if they only casually saw each other for a while before making things official? But that’s also a theory of mine that could be wrong. But long story short, late spring through summer is where I see potential holes in the relationship. But it could simply be explained away as them both being busy or us just not being entitled to see every moment they’ve spent together. I think that’s a concept a lot of fans tend to forget about. Just because we want to see them together, doesn’t mean we’re entitled to that.

For the most part, the longer this all lasts, the more I’m inclined to think it’s all real. Specially when she and her friend group pop up and it isn’t being used for PR in any type of way like this year’s NYE Vermont trip. People love to argue that “PR is for the fans to see, too!” but it’s really not. PR is for the public and it’s something that’s very blatantly obvious. You shouldn’t have to follow private accounts of friends, friend’s significant others, and whoever else in order to connect the dots of them being in the same location. I think there are a small handful of PR theories that make sense, but a majority of them are so out of this world I don’t even know what to say about it. I really don’t. I honestly wonder if people hear themselves sometimes. The idea that absolutely everything that happens is part of some elaborate conspiracy theory in order to control a narrative is a bit much for me, personally. That’s when I wish people would truly log off and spend some time in reality to hopefully be able to see some of this with clear eyes and an open mind. Or at least be able to hold respectful discussions about it all. And I also don’t negate the fact that this really could be both. Duncan Scott-Ford was a merchant seaman on a ship named Finland. A young man, 21 years old at the time of his death. He didn't have a splendid track record. Secrete Service believe he might have told secrete navel codes to girl (in Dar-es-Salaam) he was infatuated with and he was convicted of having altered his Post Office Savings account.

So, he wasn't an unknown entity to them.

When they arrived in Lisbon he met with man who introduced himself as Rithman who claimed he could get a letter to the girl Scott-Ford was infatuated with. Rithman offered Scott-Ford 1000 Portuguese escudos if he would confirm some information for him.

Now, Scott-Ford did go and tried to get a confirmation! He just couldn't. I assume his rank was far too low.

Anyway! They met up the next day and Scott-Ford was honest with Rithman and another man named Captain Henley. He didn't have the information. But that appears to have been ok, they sat down and talked about the morale in Britain, Churchil, how bad the air raid damage was. Just, you know, chatting with a dash of treason.

Henley actually did give Scott-Ford a 1000-escudo note! It doesn't say anything about the letter being sent tho.

The next meeting was some real spy business.

Scott-Ford was driven around in a car, hoping to disorient him and then he was taken to a room where they asked him to obtain information about British minefields, the arrival of American servicemen in Britain and up-to-date copies of Jane's Fighting Ships and Jane's All The World's Aircraft!

No, I'm not sure why they thought he could possibly get all that information when he couldn't even get the first information they asked for.

Anyway, Henley aske Scott-Ford to sign a receipt for the money, which he did. With his real name.

Now, I'm looking back at the page and reminding myself he mainly did this because he wanted a letter sent to some girl in Dar-es-Salaam.

Ok, back to current-past events. The grew of Scott-Ford's ship were interrogated, the higher ups knew they might have approached by spies and whatnot. Scott-Ford said he had been approached but he hadn't cooperated.

Scott-Ford was again asked if he had been approached and this time he admitted he had met somebody that asked him "about Communism in Britain".

Eventually, Scott-Ford admitted he had received 1600 escudos for information, he was sent to the London Reception Centre and evidence was found in his quarters.

The Wikipedia article suggests he began to grow increasingly worried as he started to realize how serious things were.

Again he sold out his nation for a letting to girl in Dar-es-Salaam. This girl would fall under the 'sailors have a girl in every port'-category.

He was, of course, found guilty and set to be executed.

Now, the camp he was held in actually asked if he should reprieved.

The commandant replied 'no' and went on to say:

"Indeed, there may well be many who will agree that death by hanging is almost too good for a sailor who will encompass the death of thousands of his shipmates without qualm."

So, he got hanged.
