im researching Scarecrow hench-people and the DC wiki is really unhelpful, can you give me a list of a few notable ones. Also who's this Autumn from the Audio Adventures people keep mentioning. Is she a canon character or is she an OC

Thank you! Now that you mention it, it does seem like Scarecrow's kinda lacking in terms of notable henchmen, even purely in terms of visually distinct one-offs. It might have something to do with how little he's been traditionally focused on crime and coalition building, per se, and more so on lone terrorist campaigns and experimentation. Besides Scream Queen, who I already went into in the other post, these are the ones that I can think of:

Autumn / Miss Autumn is canon to TBAA, she just never showed up in the show. We hear about her in S1 via two scenes where Miss Tuesday talks about her friend in Scarecrow's gang, another villain assistant named Autumn that she always texts with and coordinates with, and then later she'd appear in issue #6 of the Audio Adventures comic, kidnapping Dick while he's disguised as a Burma Shave Boy and bringing him over to the Scarecrow as part of his plan. She claims to be a scullery maid in charge of the "kitchen" and is instructed by Crane to prepare a new batch, and Dick finds an Arkham Asylum physician's clearence and security badge that might belong to her, given Miss Tuesday in the show claims to have grown up in Arkham and the two seeming to be fairly close friends.

The Audio Adventures Special prequel comic released along with S2 also showed that, along with his biker gang to peddle in the street, he employs dealers hidden in plain sight such as the elderly librarian Mrs.Elliot, who we don't get to know much more about other than her being known by Dick and his friends, and a willing enthusiastic participant in the Scarecrow's plans to sell drugs to kids, as well as kidnap and experiment on them.

In terms of notable henchmen I think the first one he ever got were the Strawmen from Batman #296: said to be named Otto and Raymond, former students of his who've joined him and became students of the Scarecrow, serving as the muscle to his operation.

There's Linda Frittawa / Fright, introduced in a Judd Winick arc by the name of "As the Crow Flies", who became his assistant and confidant, while secretly manipulating him under a deal she made with the Penguin. She's the one who turned Scarecrow into the Scarebeast, and eventually showed up later working for Jeremiah Arkham Black Mask.

Not quite a henchwoman per se but there is a character named Haunter who showed up in the 2017 Batman (vol.3) annual, who's able to kill people with her DNA and who coordinates a small-scale fear gas with Jonathan to make her escape from Arkham, and it's said the two had a "twisted mutual admiration thing" before Batman put her away. She's only made two appearences in total, in two anthology shorts penned by her creator Scott Bryan Wilson, and I'm including her because given her name and gimmick and lack of prominence, she might as well be a Scarecrow henchwoman or partner or extension of his deal.

There's a fairly long pattern of Scarecrow being responsible for the creation of new villains with his experiments even if they don't necessarily go on to become henchmen - Madame Crow from Tynion's run was a former student who was tortured with fear toxin for months and took over a year to recover, before embarking on her own fear toxin campaigns. Colin Wilkes from Streets of Gotham was an abused orphan kidnapped by Scarecrow and given Venom injections before being ordered to attack Batman, and who was freed and became a hero. The Gotham Knight movie states that this version of Killer Croc was experimented on by Jonathan Crane, who caused his condition to worsen and seems to have kept him around a sewer hideout as an attack dog. The Titans show had him behind the resurrection of Jason Todd and his transformation into Red Hood, and Gotham had him create the show's version of Joker Toxin that kicks off Jeremiah Valeska's transformation.

And finally, we'd be remiss not to mention that a couple of times in his older appearences he's had a pet raven named Nightmare, a concept that's come up again in more recent kid-friendly books where it's named Croward instead, who assisted him in his criminal endeavors. I suppose that raven evidently doesn't make too much sense given Crane's backstory revolving around the crow trauma inflicted on him by his grandmother, or that trained birds are still very much Penguin territory in spite of him never using them anymore, or it clashing too much with the darker tone and vibe he's supposed to have, but there's a self-evident charm to the scarecrow-themed villain having a pet raven circling him.

I've kept "bandaging/stitching an injury" on my list, and filled this one for "touching foreheads." This is my first try at Bucky POV, and we kind of ended up on the depression-nap side of things (see my terrible header below). Thank you to @mercurygray for helping me work the end. And he’s felt every minute of every one, or at least it seems that way on days like this. Gray as all hell, like a storm gathering over the lake. Every minute if you didn’t count the gaps, the headaches, the days he sleeps away, the things he couldn’t remember those first few weeks. His jaw still wakes him in the night, dull if he’s lucky, a screaming pain if he’s not. He can never forget the things he’d actually want to forget, can he? Now that would be too easy.

Never coughed up an explanation for Buck either, even when Buck looked at him sideways about something or the other. Even if he wanted to, his throat goes dry at the thought, like the dust and dirt along the floorboards.

Holding onto it gives him something to hold onto, at least. The anger. 

Six months of this damn nightmare, the bloodshot bone-chilled day and night. Different nightmare than the sky. He has those too. This is the kind of dream where you’re stuck in it, you can’t move, there’s footsteps outside the door. He’d had those as a kid. Terrified him. 

It’s sure not the the kind they nail up pictures for, paper edges catching on the unfinished timber, hoping to summon some kind of vision. He’s so tired he’s practically drooling into the pillow, letting his eyes wander far enough along the wall that it hurts, over Rita and Ginger and Ava’s shining faces. 

There are pictures kept in books too, pouches and the occasional wallet, those all but sewn into jacket pockets. Girls back home.

Not even a letter. Not one goddamn letter, he thinks, the sigh of it harder than seems fair to his mother or his sisters, trying to get around the mail delays and sending cards for every holiday they could think of. What the hell even was Arbor Day, anyway?

He thinks about Texas, and Florida, and Idaho, and Nebraska. Girls and dresses and perfume, manicured hands, no dirt around them. Marge’s friend, he can’t remember her name, pretty, dark hair, disinterested in a kiss but amenable to dancing. They’d all wanted to forget, right? Not when you’re flying out the next day. 

He thinks of Lil, the cupid’s bow of her lip and the goosebumps under her sweater. She’d wanted to forget too. A brother somewhere in…he can’t remember now. Burma? Her grandfather hadn’t had too many nice words for him, John. Not that he could blame the man.

He thinks of Jo. Crouched over that little green typewriter the way Brady fiddles with his sax, the sound of the bell, the sound of the keys. Like Buck over the radio. The way she looked up at him, like she’d just realized something important. The way she smelled when she let him get close enough, like flowers after a spring rain. 

The air’s sour in here, and cold. Showering helps, besides freezing your damn balls off. 

He lets himself think it, about his head in her lap in the grass, or on a sofa, or anywhere, really, where she’s leaning down and she’s touching him, the little calluses on her hands, and her forehead close to his.

It hurts too much, and maybe he can admit it, here in this damn coffin of a bunk, mattress about as comfortable as one, that maybe she’d wanted to forget too.

You don’t kiss like that, he thinks, with acid in his throat, when you care what comes next.

She writes like she cares, though. She writes like she believes in all of them, like it’s real and not just what her paper wants or somebody wants to hear. 

Maybe he can admit that now, if he doesn’t think about the note she’d left.

He’d rather think about anything else, hell, he’d rather walk outside with no shoes on, listen to the Yankees lose by a single run.

He’d rather wish this damn pillow was a different kind, her thigh or her body or her forehead, even, pressed against his. Not that he’d admit it out loud. 

And her mouth right there, he thinks, like he can just make that half-second trip to kiss her, and kiss her again.

The Gods are angered .. CoViD continues but the efforts are coming in and the graphs at some places are beginning to show some stability, though not completely out of the woods ..

Cyclone Tauktae in the Arabian Sea intensifies along the Western Coasts of India .. from the South moving up .. the effects of its arrival have begun here in Mumbai with rain as I write ..  the preparations for the monsoon rain sheds had just begun so the vulnerability of leaks , is there and the dealing with rain leakages about is a concern .. we try to make some make shift arrangements .. but they are weak and not entirely protective .. 

The severity of the monsoons as you all know is massive and all buildings and locations become most vulnerable during those 3-4 months of its presence ..

The JVPD Scheme is a low lying area and flooding is most imminent .. so ..

The word ‘tauktae’ .. the naming of storms cyclones typhoons et all are taken up and suggested by the countries in the region and this name has been given by Myanmar , erstwhile Burma , which is the name of a ‘vocal lizard’ ..

The work though on the care fronts continues and happily I was able to deliver the first lot of 10 ventilators to the desired locations .. the Municipal Corporation of the City , and 3 Hospitals and one clinic .. the balance 10 that I have ordered should be in in a few days and they too shall be distributed to care centres and Hospitals in dire need .. 

6 were sent to the BMC, under the request of its Commissioner Mr Iqbal Singh Chahal, who has done great innovative work in controlling the spread of the virus in the City, by bringing down the numbers .. the ventilators were asked to be directed to his Addl., Com., Mr Chore, who then directed it to ms Shashibala, the lady from the Comm., office looking after deliveries , who then directed us to send it to the Andheri Sports Complex to Mr Raju Palkar, who has received them and the distribution shall be under the discretion of BMC, looking at the various needs .. 

I shall be requesting the BMC to let me have a report on the delivery, the setting up and the functioning of these machines at the allocated locations, so we can keep a record of its proper usage ..

The other 4 have been delivered to Hospitals - Sion Hospital along with some accessories that they needed to help in the detection process in these times ; Nair Hospital ;  Kaleskar Hospital  and the Jewel Nursing Home .. 

This is no way a reflection or an indication , that these Hospitals do not have facilities of their own, they do, but in extenuating circumstances, such as what we are facing, every drop counts ..  

The first consignment of the 50 Oxygen Concentrators ordered and bought by me from Poland should be on a plane as I write, and shall be landing in Delhi by 6 am tomorrow morning, on the Polish Airline LOT .. flight WAW/DEL /LO 1071 .. these shall be cleared by the Gurudwara Committee where I have donated in the building of the 400 bed facility and which was inaugurated the other day .. 300 functional immediately and the balance 100 in due time .. and the O2 concentrators shall also be donated to this facility for their discretionary use.

These are the 10 litre concentrators, but research from my office informs me that the 5 litre ones are also acceptable and in greater demand .. so I have bought another 50 oxygen concentrators today of the 5 litre capacity, and hopefully they should be despatched to us in a few days .. these shall be distributed to the needy facilities in Mumbai ..

My gratitude and gracious thanks to several people in the fructification of this delivery - The Govt.of Poland, the Mayor of Wroclaw,   Mr Jacek Sutryk , the Indian Ambassador Mr Namgyal, and the Indian Consul Mr Johri for most generously helping in easing the logistics of transporting it over to India. 

The 25 bedded Care Centre that I had donated for to be put up in a School in Juhu is happily all ready .. the facilities are all in place .. and just today the relevant OC’s have beem obtained from the BMC and the Fire Brigade .. just one more permission is due to come tomorrow and with that the facility shall be ready to operate by Tuesday or Wednesday .. this is for the really needy and those that cannot afford the expenses required for their treatment ..  

...👆🏾 the 25 bedder facility .. beds , store room , numbering of beds in process .. all oxygen piping etc., all done .. 

And the Diagnostic Centre that I donated to for the Bangla Sahib Centre for the needy at free to very low affordable rates is all set and the MRI machine and some other ancillaries that I bought for them, all supplied and ready for operation ..

There is always a sense of satisfaction on seeing your efforts at giving to the needy .. to those in distress .. to them that have lost their jobs due to the non functional-ability of their work professions .. those on the daily wages .. those who’s production films have been stopped because no shootings are allowed .. those who had bet their last Rupee on the completion of a film or a web series they were working on and getting paid .. 

I give wherever I can .. my means are extremely limited .. it may not seem so , but they are .. somehow by the grace of the Almighty they come to me .. I have not made any effort to collect them through campaigns or donations to a cause that I may have instituted .. I just feel asking someone for funds is embarrassing for me .. yes there have been events in the past where the voice is for contributing, but I feel uncomfortable to ask , to contribute .. I may have partaken in the event as a voice over, but never directly asked to give or contribute .. and if there have been such unseen or unknown incidents then I seek forgiveness .. 

I have, not out of seeking praise, given descriptions of the work done this time, but just to assure all, of the delivery and the visuals of where the funds have been used and to what avail .. that they are not just blank promises .. 

There have been many such campaigns and events where the organisers have collected funds for most worthy causes .. and that is most laudable .. but with all due respect and modesty, at times the amount that I have personally individually donated, matches the funds collected out of the campaigns ..

This has probably been a most un endearing post for the Blog .. and I do apologise for that .. for one that has ever promulgated a desire to be silent and do my work, I have crossed my own LOC - the Line of Control ..

So I did a Sketch dump its a very small portion of art i did from the year 2018 to 2020. I put my older art at the top and worked my way down 1. This was my first drawing of my character Serenity, Her and my character Jade where actually from a dream I had one night. This was one of the things I remember in the dream (don't worry she's rescued). 2. a sketch I did that I wanted to turn into a painting. the sketch is better trust me. It was kind of a red riding hood and the wolf thing? 3. So I actually had a friend help me with this one in the fact me and her posed together so I could figure out how to get the arms right. I don't remember if we took a picture or not but I don't have it if we did. 4. Me and my friend shared a sonic oc and I wanted to turn him human. His name is Nigal. 5. Serenity in her wedding dress. Simple but nice. 6. I was on a Steven Universe binge. Its not a Gemsona but it is a fusion of my characters Serenity and Jade. I think her name was like Melody? 7. Mark my friends character, Clara and Helen my characters. 8. Clara's Sister Carol and the Town Tailor, Taylor. 9. I like the expression on him his name is Bill. 10. 14. A "New" character ive been working on for the past 4 years-ish. I'm thinking about the name Rien Burma/Burman and a friends character Mel. 15. Rien again with one of Nihilumbra's original designs. 16. Nihilumbra, I was playing with expressions one day. 17. Umbra scolding Rien 18. Second part of that conversation. 19. And a modern version of Jade with my villain Thomas. I might do another one of these later with more art I've done recently, but I do a lot of small comics so I'm not sure if I should post those separate and not in a sketch dump (If I post them at all.) And I have a lot of fanart that I'm kind of nervous to share cause I doubt anyone wants to see my Oc's. But the ones I'm probably most nervous to show are this couple I draw the most I don't own them (Technically no one does?). I love their expressions and I do a ton of tiny comics with them but I liked them a lot when I was a kid to the point I got bullied over it and so my anxiety makes it near impossible to share. Maybe on a day I'm feeling particularly brave (Or too tired to be anxious.)

I have been meaning to write a character analysis about my favorite Avenger, hero, total girl crush, and best friend to my oc for a while. I first learned of her in the comics, but not being much of a comic reader and more of a movie buff, she was not truly brought to life for me until I watched Avengers for the first time.

Natasha Romanoff is a very complex character and to paint her as an emotionless killer is not only unfair but also extremely inaccurate. The hardened facade is a matter of protection.. for her as well as those close to her. Things are not always as they seem, however. To quote Natasha, “Fallaces sunt rerum species.” The appearance of things is deceptive.

Natasha did not simply wake one morning and decide to enroll in the most brutal spy/assassin training academy in existence. After the death of her parents, she was deposited there as a child. Brainwashed and conditioned to become a perfect super soldier, she had little choice but to excel.. or die. The “recruits” were forced to fight each other, often to the death.

Now, a bit of a rabbit trail, but seeing as I’m not handing this over to a professor to be picked apart, I’ll simply speak my mind. The use of child soldiers is nothing new. Granted, I am not speaking of desperate situations where anyone with arms long enough to hold a rifle being needed in defense against an enemy. I’m speaking of a calculated effort to recruit, train, and utilize children in armed conflicts. Many governments see children as cheap, compliant, effective soldiers, and many of these “recruits” were either orphans or runaways, leaving few to mourn them upon their demise. It is not just third world countries that engage in such brutality. The U.K. made a declaration stating that it would continue to deploy children under the age of eighteen in situations of “genuine military need” when withdrawing them is deemed “impractical.” Children as young as sixteen can join, train, and be deployed in combat situations. Over two hundred children under the age of eighteen were deployed with British forces during the Gulf War. Two of them did not come home.

The country of Burma has an estimated seventy thousand child soldiers among its ranks. In Colombia, the United Self Defense Forces Of Colombia, a paramilitary group, boasts an estimated two thousand child soldiers, many of whom are girls, some as young as seven. This is very real, and is still happening today.

Now that I’ve explained a bit of the why.. I hope it’s understandable why I tend to get defensive of her character. A child who never asked to be part of the war machine, she did what she had to do. Her redemption was hard won, but transformative.

Frank Perconte x OC Headcannons (Cuz this boi doesn’t get enough love)

Frank met Indira on the train out of Georgia when they were heading to New York. Cobb had tried to get a rise out of her and she turned around and slapped him across the face for a rude remark about the way she dressed

He offered her a place to sit that was well out of Cobb’s way, needless to say she was still annoyed

But then she and Frank started talking

Indira told him about her life before her family moved to the states. They were originally from a small city on the coast of India, but Indy and her sisters had all been sent to a girls’ school/college in Georgia. Her older brothers however had enlisted in the British army, all four were sent to Burma

Frank told her about his life in Chicago, about growing up and how he hoped to go back soon

The more they talked, the closer they grew 

Luz would make a few jokes about it but Frank told him to just shut up (they still had a good laugh)

When they got to England, she and the others showed EVERYBODY what they were made of. The impression that they all made even had the British troops talking

When D-Day finally arrived, the nurses asked to jump with the rest of the Company. Absolutely NO ONE was to know that Rose Co. would jump with Easy

Indira was the first one in the door and the first one out. Frank saw her jump from the plane and panicked when she disappeared into the trees. When he found her about ten minutes after he landed he was relieved

By the time they got to Carentan, she was one of the nurses who helped take care of Tipper

But after, Frank got worried when she told him that she couldn’t see. Her sight came back after a while, but it still scared him. It happened again when they were in Bastogne and he almost had a heart attack

One night they visited each other in a foxhole and talked it over

But when they got to talking, Frank told her how he really felt. They came to realize that they couldn’t live without each other

He came to the aid station after getting shot in the rear. She treated the wound but tried not to laugh

Dike was a total ass to her which pissed Frank off but she found a way to run so many circles around him to the point where he could do nothing about it

“Yes, Frank I know he’s an insufferable twit, but we’re just going to have to put up with it until he ‘accidentally’ runs across the German lines” (Keyword: “Accidentally”) 

They kept pushing on into Austria and when they arrived at the Eagle’s Nest, she and Frank made it official. More good news came soon after when she learned her brothers would be coming home. Bonus: Her family officially became US citizens when the war was over!

When they got back, they went to Utah to meet Indira’s family

Her dad and Frank hit it off right away along with her four older brothers. Her sisters were a totally different story. They had a habit of teasing Frank, but seeing as he had siblings as well he took it in stride

But what was left unsaid that night was the biggest surprise of Indira’s life. Frank had asked her dad for her hand and she was so happy that she could barely get the words out

They had a ceremony from both sides of the world with Frank and Indira’s families in attendance along with Easy

Their wedding was on the last day of Holi and the guys had an absolute blast!!! By the end they were all covered in so many different colored powders that it took two days for them to get it out of their hair and their clothes

Their kids are absolute terrors and when Luz’s kids tag team with them? Forget it, they’re enough to drive Sobel nuts

Despite the hell that they went through

And all the turmoil that came during the war

Frank and Indira are grateful for the life they have and the life they built

And they wouldn’t have it any other way

OOH HAVE ANOTHER FC: Tilda Swinton

Obviously I’m casting for the extended Aldbourne universe over here today...

Mrs. Abigail Frobisher knows exactly who she is.

She knew when she was ten, and her parents sent her away to school. She knew when she was nineteen, and meeting the man who would later become her husband. And still, at fifty-one, she knows precisely who she is, and what she is, and what she stands for. She is an Englishwoman, and a patriot, and a woman whose position in life means that she is born to lead and sacrifice. She did so in 1914, sending her husband off to war, and she will do so again now as the head of the Aldbourne WI. She lives, along with Captain Frobisher, slightly outside of the town limits in what is easily the nicest house in the vicinity, and is a regular feature in the county flower show. (Her orchids are astonishingly lovely.) The Frobishers have two sons, both overseas, one in Burma and one in Australia, and the thought that some mother down there at the Red Cross, or whatever the Australians do for Women's institutes, is taking care of her boys gives her a lot of calm.

With all that extra houseroom, why wouldn't they take on at least one of those new officers? There's a rumor on the ground that one of the units hereabouts includes some women - a rational idea, in Abigail's opinion.  If women were running this war it would have been over already.  She'll put an invitation out to billet one of them, if they're available.

New OC, Dachen Ellet! He's from Burma (now Myanmar). He took on the last name "Ellet" when he came to the US because Burmese people generally don't have surnames. He's a veteran of the Burma Campaign during WWII, where he fought alongside the British against the Japanese.

More of Cicero headcannons!

So recently I have been going through some of my older posts and saw one I did on personal headcannons for Cicero. It made me realize I have been neglecting my poor mad jester and I must remedy that! So without further ado here are a few more of my hc's for Cicero!

Cicero did not join the brotherhood until he was a young adult. Maybe around 18 or 19. In my personal backstory for him he was the son of a widowed noblewoman who remarried when Cicero was about 16. His stepfather was a cruel and vile man with a love for skooma. He ended up killing Cicero's mother in a drug induced rage. Cicero murdered him out of revenge and ended up joining the brotherhood shortly after.

Part of the reason Cicero is so fond of the Night Mother is because of the close relationship he had with his own mother. His father died when he was very young so his mother raised him mostly by herself. He loved her dearly and it is reflected in his devotion to the Night Mother.

Cicero received his ebony dagger as a gift while he was still in Burma. It was given to him by a fellow assassin and close friend as a welcome gift after he joined the brothers.

Cicero is very precise and meticulously. Even after going mad he still made sure everything was kept in order and in its proper place. Cleanliness is also a big must. He bathes often as possible and shaves continuously.
