The day had been pretty normal.

Sure, Dazai was late as hell, Kunikida was on the verge of an aneurysm, and Yosano had potentially almost murdered someone on her way to work, but that was pretty normal for the Armed Detective Agency.

But maybe something had happened: maybe Dazai was being a prick. Maybe the sweet store a block away was closed today. Maybe someone insulted his intelligence.

Because while chaos was normal in the Armed Detective Agency, your boyfriend Being so grumpy was not.

You sigh, sitting beside his desk and watching him pout. “Baby, what’s wrong?” You drawl, placing your hand over his.

He huffs, spinning his seat away from you and whining dramatically. “Someone stole my snacks!” He declares sadly, expression pouty.

You raise your eyebrow. Someone stealing? From the world’s greatest detective? And he only found out today? You call bullshit.

Still, because you are a kind and loving partner, you don’t call out Ranpo’s gluttony. Instead, you stand from your seat and walk around until you’re standing in front of him.

You brush your fingers across his cheeks, pressing a chaste kiss to his forehead. “I’ll buy you more, what’s wrong do you want?”

He smiles, leaning into your touch. “The sweet cakes from that bakery down the street, please?”

You hum, grabbing your wallet of your desk. “Of course, darling.”

You’d buy all the sweet treats and pastries in the world if it meant he’d never be upset again. But you have a feeling that he’d miss your sweet kisses.

And neither of you want that. So Ranpo will keep forgetting his snacks, and you’ll keep pressing sugary sweet kisses to his face to soothe his worries. Until the sun stops rising, and the stars stop shining.
