We went on a road trip to the northern coast of the island and camped out on the beach. Across the water Bulusan volcano loomed large, shrouded in clouds.
In the morning I woke up early and drank my coffee by the water. This crane came by and hung out with me for a while.

📍BULUSAN
Ganda pala ng view dun kainis. It's a 10/10. Eme. Pero I promised myself na i will make it happen. Someday i will own my own business , sa ngayon tamang ipon muna ng pang puhunan. After one week na payapang walang sagabal back to reality na naman. And iba yung lungkot ko talaga. Parang hinihila ko ng dagat sa bulan. Hometown chacha ang peg diba.

Entry #2: The Story of Palawan
Yahoo~ ! We got our second entry for our blog today everyone! 🎉 and this time, it's an urban legend story entitled "The Story of Palawan".
Sharing my insights here: Reading this urban legend story made me think of the urban legend and folk stories provided for us when were little children at schools . Those thin books were a treat to read for those who were into reading or just bored.
For the story, it was a beautiful tale between friends that ended in tragedy. *Sniff* If the story was longer and had more depth to it, definitely would vouch for Tala and Bulan lol
Now, we will share the thoughts of the creator of this story, J.C!
"When I was a kid, urban legend stories like the Ang Alamat ng Bulusan Lake (The Legend of Bulusan Lake) always fascinated me, entangling me in their compelling world of wonders. In our house, we always had many books stored and as someone who loved reading, it was a treat for me.
Originally, this flash fiction is one that I'd made along with my other story "The Fable of the Lamp" back in Junior High where the other story was about a lamp which was barely used.
For this story, I won't tell what it is about but I hope the readers will enjoy them."
And that's all about it!
Like J.C. said, hopefully you will enjoy the story as much as other readers did! 🙏

The Story of Palawan
Once upon a time, in a faraway land lived a girl named Tala, who has the ability to heal. A lot of people would seek her far and wide for help to cure their illness.
One day the villagers came to her house while carrying an injured man named Bulan. Bulan came from the neighbouring village on the south, he was hunting in the forest when he encountered a group of wild boars. He stayed in the village until he was fully recovered and during his time of stay in the village for the past few days, Bulan and Tala became friends but their friendship was put to a test.
The day Bulan has fully recovered and immediately went to his home was also the day Tala was taken by a huge bird and as the villagers saw what happened, they tried their best to save Tala but to their dismay they only injured the bird around its stomach that causes the bird to fly slowly as it loses blood. Tala took her pocket knife out and stabbed the bird causing it to loose its grip on her making her fall into the sea followed by the bird as it loses its consciousness. The villagers and Bulan saw what happened but cannot do anything to save Tala for the sea has a strong current waves and is dangerous to sail on. Bulan was so devastated of losing his friend and for not being able to save her on time.
Tala was remembered by the village people as the "blessed girl" who helps the weak, and as the time goes by Bulan would go back to the beach and stare at the horizon longingly, patiently waiting for Tala to show up but knows that day will never happen until one day, the villagers and Bulan noticed a small land appearing on the middle of the sea where Tala fell and later on decided to name it, Tala's Land, but as the time goes by, the name was later on changed into Palawan.

Bulusan lake and other sights along the way
I booked ‘a tour’  or rather a driver and a car with Fernando’s hotel, as during my two days of strolling through the city I hadn’t seen any other place to do so. Maybe I just missed it, but maybe there just were no travel agencies in Sorsogon. My hotel charged 4k PHP (about 65 Euro) for the driver and his car. Everything else, like entrance fees, guides, food etc., was extra. Our first stop was…

Looking for an exciting and unforgettable travel experience? Consider booking your next trip with Daydreamscape Travel Agency! As a highly reputable travel agency, Daydreamscape specializes in crafting personalized travel itineraries that cater to your unique preferences and interests.
Recently, I booked a trip with Daydreamscape to explore the beautiful province of Sorsogon. The travel itinerary was carefully crafted, covering a variety of activities that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking natural beauty of the area.
On Day 1, we departed from Manila at 8:00 PM, arriving at Beata Beach, Sta. Magdalena Sorsosgon, at 10:00 AM the following day. After checking in at Beata Beach Resort, we enjoyed brunch and then spent the day engaging in a range of activities, from snorkeling to kayaking and exploring nearby islands. The clear blue water and stunning scenery made for a picture-perfect day.
On Day 2, we had breakfast before departing for Bulusan Lake Natural Park. Hiking in the surrounding forest offered a great workout, and we enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing picnic while taking in the scenic view. We then had lunch at a local restaurant before heading to D Greenthumb Garden in Irosin to explore the various plant species and learn about their various uses. It was an insightful experience, and we enjoyed a lovely evening at Pentaqua Dineros Guesthouse, savoring the delicious cuisine at Pier Restaurant.
On Day 3, we had breakfast and prepared for our departure back to Manila, which included travel insurance.
Overall, our trip with Daydreamscape was excellent, and we were able to enjoy everything Sorsogon had to offer comfortably and safely. The travel package cost was Php 13,500 and included transportation, accommodation, meals and activities. It was a great value for the amazing experience we had.
In conclusion, for those seeking an enriching and unforgettable travel experience, Daydreamscape Travel Agency has got you covered. We can't wait to book our next trip with them soon!

How I Started Reading
It began in 2005; I was a second year high school student. An old woman climbed the outside wooden staircase of the church my family attended. She must have been in her 50s back then, with a slightly elongated face and a mouth almost always ajar, and with an assortment of trinkets dangling around her neck. Her eyes would sometimes flutter quite excessively — due perhaps to her contact lenses which I learned she was wearing later on. Her nose was a bit bulbous at the base. Her whole head was a few degrees tilted to the left.
She introduced herself to the congregation and advised to be called “Ma’am” followed by her nickname. It took quite a while for her to finish her introduction. She loved talking.
She spoke in a mixture of English and Tagalog, which was refreshing to hear. She was, as expected, good in Tagalog, but if you listened carefully, you would notice her English was exceptional, better than your English teacher in high school.
It felt like a brief autobiography. And a brief autobiography as you all well know, isn’t actually brief. But being new to the church, she was indulged by the members.
I don’t know if it was after her first or after her second visit that she invited the youth group in the church to her house.
It was a bit far. But being in the countryside, you could hardly afford commuting. So we crossed a river, went through a patch of ricefield and arrived at her house.
One side of her house was beside a dirt road while the other faced rolling ricefields. At the end of the paddies on the opposite side, you’d see the majestic Bulusan volcano.
Inside her house was an elevated open bedspace. Perched on the walls made of wood were books. While a few of fellows went out to examine her flower garden, I stayed inside to admire the books. It was the first time I had come across a house full of books.
I was tracing with my pointing finger the books on the makeshift shelves when she entered.
“Would you like to borrow one?” She suddenly asked, her face beaming with a friendly smile. This encouraged me.
“Take one you like. When you’re finished, just come back and exchange it for another. You can read any of the books that you fancy reading.” She added.
I took “A Certain Smile” which I no longer remember the author of. It was a romance, and a very easy read. Later on, I exchanged it for “Robinson Crusoe,” a book that would take me three months to finish. It became one of my most favorite books. With her library comprised mostly of classics, I immersed myself in that genre.
I don’t know what came next in my reading list. What I can recall though is I’ve never stopped reading since then.
I’m not sure if her home library still exists. She was still staying in her house the last time I passed it by. But being an eccentrically bright woman, she felt the church couldn’t satisfy her eccleciastical thirst. She decided to withdraw her membership after a few years — a first in the church.
She came, she went. But by her mere lending of her books, she had introduced me to worlds I never dreamed of exploring before. And I am still conquering new worlds.
