What Makes Industrial Painting in Perth Essential for Workplace Safety?
Industrial painting plays a critical role in maintaining workplace safety in Perth's industrial settings. The harsh Australian climate, including the intense sunlight and occasional storms, can cause rapid deterioration of industrial structures if left unprotected. Industrial painting not only enhances the appearance of these structures but also forms a protective barrier against corrosion, rust, and other environmental hazards. By preventing corrosion and deterioration, industrial painting helps to uphold the structural integrity of buildings, machinery, and equipment, reducing the risk of accidents, injuries, and costly repairs. It ensures that workplaces remain safe and compliant with regulatory standards, promoting a secure environment for workers and visitors alike.
What You Need to Know About Industrial Painting in Perth
Industrial painting services in Perth encompass a wide range of specialized techniques and applications tailored to the unique needs of industrial facilities. These services go beyond simply applying paint; they involve thorough surface preparation, including cleaning, sandblasting, and rust removal, to ensure optimal adhesion and longevity of the coating. Experienced industrial painting contractors in Perth utilize high-quality paints and coatings formulated to withstand the city's challenging climate conditions, such as extreme heat, UV exposure, and salt air. Additionally, reputable painting companies in Perth adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations, prioritizing the well-being of their clients, workers, and the surrounding ecosystem.

What Industrial Painting Techniques Are Ideal for Perth's Climate?
Perth's unique climate presents specific challenges for industrial painting projects, requiring specialized techniques and coatings to withstand its harsh conditions effectively. Given the city's high levels of UV radiation and salt air from the nearby ocean, industrial painters in Perth often opt for coatings with excellent UV resistance and corrosion protection properties. Additionally, proper surface preparation, including abrasive blasting and thorough cleaning, is crucial to ensure optimal adhesion and durability of the coating system. Thermal spray coatings, epoxy primers, and polyurethane topcoats are commonly used for their resilience against extreme temperatures, moisture, and chemical exposure, making them ideal choices for industrial painting in Perth's climate.
What Are the Benefits of Building Painting in Perth's Urban Landscape?
Building painting in Perth's urban landscape offers numerous benefits beyond aesthetic enhancement. A fresh coat of paint can rejuvenate tired-looking structures, boosting curb appeal and property value in a competitive real estate market. Moreover, painting exterior surfaces helps to protect buildings from weathering, moisture intrusion, and environmental pollutants, extending their lifespan and reducing maintenance costs over time. In urban areas like Perth, where buildings are subjected to constant exposure to sunlight, wind, and pollution, regular painting maintenance is essential to preserve their structural integrity and architectural charm. Additionally, well-maintained buildings contribute to a vibrant urban environment, enhancing the overall quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

On 17th May 1870 David Octavius Hill, the painter and pioneering Scottish photographer, died.
Hill was one of several pioneering photographers Scotland produced during the 19th century. If you follow my posts you have definitely seen lots of his pictures.
David Octavius Hill was born in Perth, the son of a book publisher. He was educated at Perth Academy and the School of Design in Edinburgh. Hill was an acceptable landscape painter and illustrator (illustrating some novels for Sir Walter Scott). Always involved in the art world, he helped organize the Royal Academy of Scotland and served as secretary from its inception until his death. He was a respected artist in his time, but not one that would be recognized today had he not become involved with Robert Adamson.
David Octavius Hill was present in 1843 at the meeting of the Church of Scotland and witnessed the succession of 457 ministers to reassemble as the Free Church of Scotland. Hill was so moved he pledged to paint a portrait of all 457 ministers together. Sir David Brewster, who had studied for the clergy of the Church of Scotland was also at the meeting. He suggested the use of the Calotype as a sketching tool.
Adamson, who had opened his studio at Rock House just weeks before, entered into a joint venture with Hill to photograph all 457 men of the new Free Church of Scotland. The subjects were posed outside. One set was designed to appear indoors but was actually outdoors with furniture and drapery against a wall of the building.
David Octavius Hill’s 12 ft-wide Disruption Painting, widely thought to be the first time a painter based his work on photographs. The work, which was begun in 1843 and took 23 years to complete, includes everyone involved in signing the agreement that set up the Free Church of Scotland in the 19th century.
Hill and Adamson mainly made Calotype documentary portraits that beautifully speak of their time. They photographed not only the churchmen, but also a variety of subjects: landscapes, architecture, friends and family. Their environmental portraits were among the earliest recorded, utilizing the new medium of photography. They worked together on their project for four and a half years, until Adamson’s early death in 1848.
After Adamson’s premature death at age 27, Hill temporarily abandoned photography and returned to painting. Hill became a member of the Photographic Society of Scotland in 1856 and ran a studio with Alexander McGlashan from 1861 to 1862 publishing Some Contributions Towards the Use of Photography as an Art. Hill sold the remnants of his studio with Adamson in 1869. The property on Calton Hill is now holiday accommodation.
Hill is buried in Dean Cemetery, Edinburgh - one of the finest Victorian cemeteries in Scotland. He is portrayed in a bust sculpted by his second wife, Amelia, who is buried alongside him.
Pics are mainly of Hill, with several pieces of his artwork.

Never Let Me Go Ep 1 Stray Thoughts
I can't believe we have new shows from Jojo two days in a row. Who ever thought we'd be here?? (I did, in 2012) Very excited about this one, but desperately hoping that Pond comes through for us this time.
I do like a slow-moving shot to open a show. I am prepared to feel moody.
Don't know if Neung is queer yet, but if he already is then I will have thoughts about gay boys and their moms.
Glad the father isn't actually negligent. Neung wasn't giving off a long-suffering air. It's nice to know that he feels like a beloved son.
This feels like a lot of weight to put on a young person, but Neung is coming of age and so I respect the dad trying to prepare his son for coming duties.
This rainy alleyway scene is giving Batman.
As others have pointed out already, this pendant is so huge. We get the metaphor, but goddamn.
Phuwin gives a strong performance here. I'm glad the sound editors toned down the sonic presence of his scream, though. I felt it was too loud in the trailer.
Every time I see Perth I'm like, "Welcome back, baby boy."
I've been complaining about the use of Dutch angles in GAP, but I think they're appropriate here. Neung's world is tilted by the loss of his dad, who clearly loved him (he literally named his son "Only One").
Love the use of this red outfit to announce that Tanya will take over as CEO.
I'm so glad Nat is in this show and linked with Perth. They're going to be fun to watch.
Glad this show is using Phuwin's multilingual talent.
Pond looks good in this so far. The school uniforms did not serve his frame well.
I like how workmanlike Jojo can be about exposition. Sometimes it's more efficient to have a character detail their limitations and worldview quickly so the audience knows their starting line. We can figure out the reasons as we go along.
Love that conversation with the bodyguard/chamberlain outside school. The shifts in your relationships as you come of age is always hard.
We never had anyone this famously wealthy at any school I went to.
Chimon remains excellent at building onscreen chemistry with literally anyone so well.
I will be very disappointed when we learn that Chanon was somehow involved in Pipop's death. Both Neungdia and Tanya assert that they feel like he's family. For Chanon, though, it probably isn't his reality. This is going to get messy and I'm here for it.
Almost gagged when I saw Apo and Mile in a product ad at the start of part 2.
Not to be too distracted by the gun, but what is in this notebook that Neung keeps in the same drawer as the gun?
Also noticed the retro style speaker, and the painting of a piano full of butterflies.
At least Neung has some trigger safety.
I'm so proud of the hair and makeup team so far. They have not missed once. Phuwin looks amazing sitting in the pool.
Fantastic choice to show Palm's commute. After seeing the wealth of Neung's life, the signs of poverty and frustrated hit hard.
Ball is life (and apparently a gambling opportunity to cause problems later).
I will never, ever tire of boys pulling each other into hiding spaces and getting too close to each other's faces. Mutuals, feel free to do this to me.
Nat is so good. I am so invested in this beef between Tanya and Kit, and am so curious about the family history that led to the exclusion of Pipong's brother.
The Gifted has forever ruined the arm grab for me in these dramas. It only ever reads as hugely manipulative.
What does Neung know about these family troubles? He didn't seem surprised about the tension when he walked in, and looked to Tanya for guidance on whether to hug Kit back.
Is Palm choosing to not wear a tie, or does he not have one? I'm not surprised he wears the uniform loosely after working as a fisherman.
I don't blame Neung for bailing on a father's day event.
Chanon definitely assigned Palm as a bodyguard. I think Tanya is aware of it.
Who is this taxi driver and why is he willingly contributing to truancy?
So we finally know what building these windows have been in. I have seen them in The Gifted and War of Y.
Neung isn't dumb, and I'm glad he's aware of what's going on.
Every time they say they trust Chanon, he gets uncomfortable. Is that guilt?
Oh ho, we're going to start seeing more of Perth next week.
I had a great time with this first episode, and like that both of Jojo's shows feel so distinct from each other right now. I completely forgot that Phuwin is playing Ice in The Warp Effect. Hoping to see Pond blossom as this character comes out of his reserve.

Venus in Pisces: Dreams, imagination, and emotional connection are the keys to unlocking a Pisces heart. Be their creative muse, listen to their fantasies, and offer a shoulder to cry on. A personalized piece of art or a donation to their favorite charity in their name would resonate with them.

But by understanding the core themes of each sign, you can begin to speak their language of love. So, the next time you feel lost in translation, look up your loved ones' Venus signs and start deciphering their celestial love code. You might be surprised at what you find!

North Sea Scotland (4): Perth
The previous entry ended with our departure from Dundee, which was ugly and wet.
Perth, a short drive away, was just wet. The rain eased, revealing the beauty of this old royal burgh.
It occupies a choice spot on the River Tay where it is both easy to cross and tidal, allowing ships to moor.
This, an information panel revealed, made the city a trade hub in the Middle Ages. It was also designated as a "craftis toun" because of its top-quality products.
Glovers, we learned, were the most influential guild in medieval Perth. The industry naturally attracted tanners. The panel included a depiction of their quarter circa 1440:
Leather-making apparently involved soaking hides into a mix of urine and dogs' faeces.
This, I thought, provided interesting historical background to the Spinal Tap album Smell the Glove.
The oldest house in Perth is said to be "Fair Maid's House". But the inscription "1393"was suspiciously legible.
The plaque said the habitation drew its name from Sir Walter Scott's novel The Fair Maid of Perth - which was published in 1828!
In short the house looked to me as medieval as Deep Purple's Book of Taliesyn album (I don't know why walking in Perth put vintage rock into my head.)
But if you're into faux medieval, nothing beats the real thing: Victorian arts-and-crafts architecture.
Perth has plenty of wonderful specimens. Many, I noted, have been taken over by the food-and-drink industry.
The above buildings – all from the 1890s – now house Perth's Pizza Express (left), an Indian restaurant (centre) and a pub (right).
The river front is lined with glorious Gothic-revival erections.
The County Buildings (1881, above) initially a natural history museum is now, predictably, a fancy eatery.
My favourite building is the 1840s police HQ (below).
Carved into these stern stones is the inscription: "This house hates knaves, crimes punisheth, preserves the laws and good men honoureth."
Contrast that with the "transformative vision" for Scottish justice set out in 2022 "with a focus on creating safer communities and shifting societal attitudes and circumstances which perpetuate crime and harm".
The Tay, the longest river in Scotland, can be fierce in Perth. In days of old, a panel explained, people dealt with flooding by demolishing damaged structures and building new ones on top until the ground was raised to a safe level.
The above picture was taken from a spot where Perth Castle once stood. It was washed away in 1209.
It was not the last traumatic event to occur at this site. Dominicans built a monastery on the ruins of the castle. Two centuries later, James I of Scotland died there in unusual circumstances.
James had a habit of dealing ruthlessly with rivals. But what did for him was not so much his love of power as his love of tennis. In 1436, he decided to spend Christmas at the monastery. It had great traveller reviews, as well as an indoor court where he could practice his favourite sport.
Knowing plotters were after him, James familiarised himself with escape routes before settling down for a nice extended holiday. But there was a problem with the tennis: his balls kept falling down a drain pipe.
The king got so frustrated that he ordered the drain to be blocked. Three days later his enemies reached the monastery. He disappeared down a hatch. The tunnel, however, led to the drain that had been filled with stone. He was swiftly slaughtered by his pursuers.
Fast forward 122 years. As a previous post explained, mid-16th century Scotland was ruled by Catholics but ripe for Protestantism. Knowing which way the wind was blowing, the Calvinist preacher John Knox returned home after 11 years in exile.
In May 1559 he headed to Perth and commandeered St John's Kirk (top image).
From a pulpit surrounded by the paraphernalia of Popish superstition (relics, stained glass windows, painted walls, etc.), Knox inveighed against idolatry. Whipped into an iconoclastic frenzy, the crowd trashed the church.
The crowds then headed for the Dominican priory and ransacked it. Perth's three other monasteries – as well all 40 altars in the city - were destroyed in two days of rioting. Knox went on to repeat the feat at St Andrews cathedral 50 miles away. The Scottish Church fell like a house of cards.
Perth these days is endearingly unthreatening. During our wanderings we came across a parade. A crowd cheered as bagpipe players in kilts, aldermen in suits, Scots Guards in Jeeps and Star Warriors in costumes filed past.
Towards the end a brass band played the vintage hit Gimme Some Lovin'.

Engaging Youth & Seniors in Perth Aged Care: Building Connections and Reducing Loneliness
In today’s world, where different generations often have limited interaction, initiatives that connect young people with seniors play a significant role. Supported by various aged care providers in Perth, these programs bridge generational divides, reduce loneliness, and encourage mutual understanding and learning. By fostering connections between younger and older individuals, aged care facilities are contributing to compassionate and inclusive communities with a variety of social benefits.
1. Intergenerational Mentorship Programs
One effective approach to connecting youth and seniors is through mentorship programs. These initiatives pair young people with senior mentors, allowing the younger generation to learn from the experiences and insights of their older counterparts. In return, young participants provide companionship and a fresh perspective, helping to alleviate the isolation often experienced by seniors. Many aged care facilities in Perth have implemented mentorship programs where seniors share skills such as cooking, gardening, or traditional crafts, creating purpose-driven interactions that ease loneliness.
2. Community Service Projects
Community service projects offer hands-on experience to youth while providing seniors with companionship and the enthusiasm younger participants bring. Aged care organisations in Perth frequently partner with local schools to involve young people in community initiatives within care facilities. These can include art projects, gardening, or fundraising activities for causes that resonate with both generations, fostering empathy and breaking down age-related stereotypes.
3. Digital Skills Exchange
In digital skills exchange programs, youth help seniors learn essential digital skills such as using smartphones, accessing social media, and navigating online services. Digital literacy is crucial for seniors who wish to stay connected with loved ones or access online resources independently. Aged care facilities across Perth support these exchanges, offering safe environments for seniors to learn and adapt. Youth gain teaching experience, while seniors become more comfortable with technology, reducing feelings of isolation.
4. Storytelling & Oral History Initiatives
Storytelling initiatives connect youth and seniors, creating platforms for sharing life stories and historical perspectives. Programs such as “History Uncovered” involve youth interviewing seniors to document their life experiences. This allows seniors to reminisce and feel valued, while youth gain insight into history through personal stories. In aged care facilities around Perth, structured storytelling sessions strengthen generational bonds and foster shared heritage.
5. Creative Arts Workshops
Creative arts workshops, including music, painting, and crafts, provide a relaxed space for expression among seniors and youth. Aged care facilities in Perth are increasingly offering joint art sessions, where young people collaborate with seniors on projects like mosaics, knitting, or singing. These creative activities stimulate cognitive function for seniors, improve mental well-being, and allow youth to engage in cultural learning, with documented therapeutic benefits in aged care settings.
6. ‘Pen Pal’ Programs & Virtual Connections
When in-person contact isn’t feasible, virtual platforms and pen pal programs effectively connect youth with seniors. Many Perth aged care providers facilitate these virtual interactions through letter-writing, email exchanges, or video calls, allowing both parties to build connections over time. This approach is flexible and ensures that even seniors in remote locations can form friendships with young people.
7. Life Skills Exchange Programs
Life skills exchanges enable seniors to share practical knowledge while providing youth with essential skills. In Perth, aged care providers support these programs, which may include cooking classes, budgeting advice, or basic car maintenance workshops. Youth gain valuable life skills, while seniors enjoy companionship and the opportunity to share knowledge, fostering a foundation for lasting friendships.
8. Physical Activity Programs
Physical activities like walking groups, yoga, or light fitness classes offer a shared space for seniors and young people to stay active. Many aged care providers in Perth partner with schools and youth groups to organise these activities, promoting fitness and camaraderie. These programs support both physical and mental health, fostering a shared sense of achievement.
The Value of Intergenerational Programs in Aged Care Perth
Connecting youth with seniors yields clear benefits for both groups. For seniors in Perth’s aged care settings, these programs provide companionship, reduce isolation, and improve mental well-being. For youth, these interactions build empathy, enhance communication skills, and deepen understanding of life’s stages. Such connections enable young people to appreciate the experiences and wisdom that seniors bring.
For aged care providers, these programs align with their commitment to holistic care, addressing not only physical needs but also emotional and social aspects of well-being. Intergenerational initiatives contribute to creating supportive, inclusive communities and help ensure that aged care facilities in Perth offer an enriching environment.
Conclusion
With Perth’s population increasingly ageing, intergenerational programs serve as vital initiatives for building a compassionate, understanding society. By fostering meaningful connections between youth and seniors, these programs combat loneliness, offer companionship, and enrich the lives of all involved. For aged care providers in Perth, integrating these programs cultivates a welcoming atmosphere where people of all ages feel valued and supported.

Art & Music Therapy in Aged Care: Elevating Well-Being for Seniors in Perth
As Perth’s senior community expands, there is a growing emphasis on enhancing the quality of care in aged care facilities. A prominent method gaining attention is the use of art and music therapy within care programs. These therapies provide emotional, cognitive, and physical benefits, making them invaluable tools in aged care settings. Across Perth, art and music therapy are becoming essential elements in improving the lives of residents.
The Impact of Art Therapy in Aged Care
Art therapy in Perth’s aged care facilities gives seniors a platform for creative expression, regardless of their artistic skill. It is particularly valuable for those who face communication challenges due to cognitive impairment or other health issues. Through creative activities, seniors can express emotions and experiences that may be hard to verbalise.
Key benefits of art therapy include:
Cognitive Engagement: Participating in creative activities like painting or drawing stimulates various areas of the brain, which can help in preserving cognitive functions, particularly for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Emotional Release & Stress Relief: Artistic expression can provide an outlet for feelings such as sadness, fear, or frustration, leading to a decrease in anxiety and depression, which are common in aged care.
Encouraging Socialisation: Group art activities foster connections among residents, helping to reduce isolation and loneliness.
Enhancing Motor Skills: For those with physical limitations, engaging in activities like painting or sculpting supports the development of fine motor skills, aiding physical recovery.
Many aged care centres in Perth offer art therapy programs that are specifically designed to meet the individual needs of each resident, creating personalised experiences that encourage creativity and reinforce a sense of identity.
The Benefits of Music Therapy in Aged Care
Music therapy is widely acknowledged as a beneficial approach in aged care, targeting the emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of seniors. Music serves as a meaningful form of engagement, with significant therapeutic effects.
The key advantages of music therapy include:
Memory Stimulation: Music can trigger memories, particularly for those living with dementia. Familiar songs from earlier years can improve memory recall, helping to maintain mental activity.
Improving Mood & Emotional Health: Music can soothe agitation, alleviate stress, and boost mood. Activities such as singing or playing instruments release endorphins, contributing to emotional well-being.
Supporting Physical Activity: Gentle movements to music, including simple dancing or rhythmic exercises, can enhance mobility, balance, and coordination, especially for those with physical impairments.
Building Social Connections: Group music therapy encourages social bonds among residents, providing a shared space for connection and interaction, which helps reduce feelings of isolation.
Many aged care facilities in Perth now include music therapy sessions, offering options like group sing-alongs, percussion circles, and individualised music activities tailored to each resident's preferences.
Integrating Art & Music Therapy for Holistic Care
A comprehensive approach to aged care that combines both art and music therapy can deliver a full spectrum of benefits. In Perth, integrating these therapies creates a welcoming and stimulating environment for residents, enhancing both emotional and social well-being.
These therapies not only support individual mental and emotional health but also foster community involvement and interaction. They enable seniors to communicate in alternative ways, especially when verbal communication becomes difficult, and offer opportunities for self-expression and identity reinforcement.
Conclusion
Art and music therapy are gaining recognition as crucial components of holistic care in aged care environments. For aged care providers in Perth, incorporating these therapies ensures that residents are not only cared for but also actively engaged and enriched through meaningful activities.

Building Painting in Perth: Transforming Spaces with Expert Craftsmanship
Building painting plays a crucial role in enhancing the aesthetics and value of any property. In Perth, a city known for its dynamic architectural landscape, the demand for professional building painting services is high. Whether it's a residential complex, commercial building, or industrial facility, expert painting can make a significant difference. In this blog, we will explore the essentials of building painting in perth, covering everything from the benefits of professional painting to choosing the right painters.
1. Why Professional Building Painting Matters in Perth
Perth's climate, characterized by hot summers and mild winters, can take a toll on building exteriors. Professional building painting is not just about adding a layer of color; it's about providing protection against the harsh elements. High-quality paints and coatings act as a barrier against UV rays, rain, and pollution, preserving the building's structure and appearance.
A professional painting service ensures that the right type of paint and technique is used for each surface, whether it's brick, wood, or metal. This not only enhances the building’s look but also extends its lifespan, making it a worthwhile investment.
2. The Benefits of Repainting Your Building in Perth
Repainting a building is an excellent way to boost its value and appeal. Here are some of the key benefits of repainting your building in Perth:
Increased Property Value: A fresh coat of paint can make a building look new and well-maintained, which can significantly increase its market value.
Enhanced Curb Appeal: A visually appealing building creates a positive impression on visitors, clients, and potential buyers.
Protection Against Weather Damage: Quality paint protects against moisture, reducing the risk of mold and mildew, which is especially important in Perth's coastal areas.
Improved Energy Efficiency: Light-colored paints can reflect heat, helping to keep interiors cooler during hot Perth summers and reducing energy costs.
3. Choosing the Right Paint for Perth’s Climate
Not all paints are created equal, and selecting the right one for Perth’s unique climate is crucial. High-quality exterior paints with UV-resistant properties are essential to prevent fading and chalking. Moreover, choosing paints that are resistant to mildew and mold is important, especially for buildings near the coast.
Interior paints, on the other hand, should be chosen based on the building's function. For example, high-traffic areas may require washable and durable finishes, while eco-friendly paints are ideal for health-conscious environments. Consulting with professional painters who understand Perth's climate and building materials is key to making the right choice.
4. The Process of Building Painting in Perth
A thorough building painting process involves several steps to ensure a long-lasting and high-quality finish:
Inspection and Preparation: A detailed inspection of the building is conducted to identify any damages or areas that need repair. This step also involves cleaning the surfaces to remove dirt, grime, and old paint.
Surface Repair and Priming: Cracks, holes, and imperfections are filled and sanded for a smooth finish. A primer is applied to ensure better paint adhesion and durability.
Painting: Professional painters use high-quality brushes, rollers, and sprayers to apply the paint evenly. Multiple coats may be required for a uniform and vibrant finish.
Final Touches and Cleanup: After the paint dries, a final inspection is done to ensure no spots are missed. The site is cleaned up, leaving the property spotless and ready to enjoy.
5. How to Choose the Best Building Painters in Perth
Finding the right painting contractor can make all the difference in the final outcome. Here are some tips to help you choose the best building painters in Perth:
Experience and Expertise: Look for painters with extensive experience in commercial and residential projects. Check their portfolio and customer reviews to gauge their quality of work.
Licensing and Insurance: Ensure the painting company is licensed and insured to protect yourself from any liabilities during the project.
Quality of Materials: Inquire about the type of paints and materials they use. High-quality paints and equipment lead to better and longer-lasting results.
Transparent Pricing: Choose a contractor that offers a detailed quote with transparent pricing, including labor, materials, and any additional costs.

CATCH OF THE DAY #002 - KUROMII (TILARNY'S IMPREZZA)
When most people think about Kuromi, they think of the character from the My Melody universe of the Hello Kitty franchise—the edgy, emo-aesthetic rabbit, known for her mischievous nature, love of the color purple, and fondness for food. When I hear the name Kuromi, however, Tilarny's 2007 Subaru Impreza is what comes to mind. I've followed this car on Instagram for a while now. Back when Miso Coupe was just an idea, before the merch drop, and before the growth of the community, I’ve always admired this purple Hawkeye. When I reached out to the community to help me name this series, it was actually Til who came up with "Catch of the Day," so it only seemed fitting to have her as the first guest write-up. We met up a couple of weekends ago at one of the most iconic car photography spots south of the Swan River. Without further ado, welcome to the Kitchen, Kuromii.
Tell me a bit about your history with cars. What got you into them?
T: My dad loved Fords. When I was growing up, he was a Range Rover mechanic in his youth. From then on, I’ve loved them ever since. I was his only child for about ten years before my brother came onto the scene, which meant for ten years, he had to share that love of cars with his little girl. I didn’t care much until I got my license, then it all hit me at once that this was going to be a VERY expensive hobby for me.
What drew you to Imprezas specifically?
T: I went to high school with someone who'd done up their '99 Impreza, and it drew me to it straight away. I love that it’s casual, easy to learn, and reliable.
Based on the sparkly purple paint, I'd hazard a guess that it's your favorite color. Is that why you called it Kuromii?
T: My favorite color is actually red, but there are so many red cars on the road, so purple was a close second favorite, teehee. I thought the color scheme of the car fit Kuromi perfectly!
How do you and/or your car relate to the beloved Sanrio character?
T: Kuromi is a Sanrio character, created as the antagonist to the sweet, kind-hearted My Melody. Kuromi's spooky, bossy, and sassy—all wonderful traits if you ask me.
What would you say is your favorite and least favorite thing about your build?
T: I love the attention to detail I’ve put into Kuromii. The sparkles in the paint, the Kuromi stickers in the window—but I don’t love the visible damage. It’s been a long road for Kuromii, and sometimes fixing little dings wasn’t an option financially.
Most car enthusiasts will relate when I say, "there's always something on the to-do list." What's on your agenda?
T: Honestly, just little things. It needs some fixing: the little dings, a thorough service, and some TLC. Nothing huge; I’m still studying and working part-time, so I can’t afford a wicked turbo kit (sorry, everyone).
What's been done to it so far?
T: Paint first, then the plates. The body kit was put on shortly after. The front lip was ripped off too many times for me to count, so it stays off now. I did the suspension, put some Rotas on, and then I installed my headlights—they were a total pain in the ass. There's also a cat-back exhaust, which was added by the last owner. My mechanic father helped me out a lot with the headlights. In fact, all of my car friends and family have helped me out with this car; it feels like it’s everyone’s passion project sometimes, and I love them very much for it.
Your car has inspired me to get more stickers for mine (thanks for the Midnight Moon one, BTW). Do you have a favorite sticker or one that stands out to you the most?
T: You’re very welcome <3. I love my Darlingful banner at the front. I love all my nibblets stickers, and my Sukeban tramp stamp on the car’s spine. I love all my stickers very much—stickers make me so happy.
What's one thing you love about the car scene in Perth, and perhaps something you'd wish would change?
T: I love how close-knit everyone is, especially here in Perth. I met my boyfriend through cars and found out we had a lot of mutual friends. Kuromii actually belonged to a schoolmate of his, and by chance, it fell into my hands. I wish I could change how people treat one another, but as I’ve gotten older, I know that my issue is more with society as a whole, rather than just our car family.
Who else do you want to see on Catch of the Day?
T: I’d love to see my car twin (Asha's "Blossom" Hawkeye WRX)! She’s absolutely AMAZING!! Such a wonderful person. I’d also love to see Curby and her crew—Beth is a beautiful human, along with the people she drives around with. I think it’s important that our car girls get some love—they’re just as valid as the boys ;)
Oh yeah, one last thing, how did you come up with the name Catch of the Day?
T: I called it Catch of the Day because Miso Coupe gives me sushi restaurant vibes. In these restaurants, they usually have fish they caught that morning or from the market, that they put in their sushi. I thought it was cute.
Makes sense ha-ha.
Thank you for allowing me to share your story with the world.

Painting your exteriors is so essential to maintaining your reputation. Thus, hiring professionals to paint your outside is the best way to get attention from your neighbors and visitors.
Essential advantages of Exterior painters Perth
We understand that with time, the beauty of your outside painting will wane. Therefore, for a long-term solution, spend money on professional painting services for your home or place of business. The climate is an important factor to consider when choosing a paint color. Let's examine the benefits of painting your exterior paint job:
Extended upkeep
A new coat helps shield your exterior from weather-related damage. As a result, you can afford to spend little to nothing on maintaining your home's painted exterior. The exterior surface of your structure may be impacted by harsh weather conditions such as strong winds, extreme UV radiation, and general deterioration. In addition, you need to apply a protective layer if the paint is peeling and fading to prolong the life of your external surface.
Resilience to weather
Making your home's exterior waterproof is crucial. You can enhance the exterior portion of your building foundation using either ice or water. Furthermore, the painted exterior will not be affected by intense heat or cold. Its capacity to withstand moisture will inhibit the growth of mold and mildew while also managing pests. Nevertheless, professional exterior painting will not take precedence over extending the life of the exterior surface.
Individualized touch, by Exterior painters Perth
Exterior painting services can give your external area a unique touch. You can hire professional painters if you want unique color choices for the exterior of your building. This way, you may give your outdated and drab outdoor space a more appealing appearance by using color bond technology.
Surface preparation aids
The expert painters will examine your current surface and identify any flaws or blemishes before painting your outside. After making the required repairs, they will begin painting. Hence, the painting will apply a surface coat to hide the visible flaws. You can save money and effort for a well-maintained exterior in this way.
Important initial impression
Painting the outside of your house is essential to making a good first impression on clients or guests, whether it is a residential or commercial property. We are aware that initial impressions matter a lot. So, it would be ideal to create an eye-pleasing exterior to calm your office's patrons. Furthermore, a well-kept façade will entice neighbors and visitors to return to your house.
Enhance the property's worth
Do you have any idea that a fresh coat of paint on the exterior of your space might increase its value? Yes, there is a financial benefit to having a lovely and well-maintained home. Moreover, well-executed exterior paintwork can add significant value to your property, particularly if you intend to sell.
Preventing mildew and mold
Generally, mold and mildew can be a serious issue, especially in humid regions. Additives used in premium exterior paints prevent the formation of mold and mildew. Thus, it preserves the structural integrity of your home and your family's health.
Elevating aesthetic value
One of the most obvious advantages of applying high-quality exterior paint is its improved appearance. Using high-quality paint by specialized painters may give your home a more attractive and lively appearance, increasing its aesthetic appeal and market value.
Cost-effective solution
Purchasing premium exterior paint is not only a wise financial decision over time. But, it is also aesthetically pleasing and protective. Although the initial cost of superior exterior paints may be more, there are substantial long-term benefits if you hire Exterior painters Perth. Ultimately, due to these paints' strength and longevity, you won't need to repaint them as often, which will save you money and time.
Environment-friendly solution
Low concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are better for the environment and your health, are increasingly seen in premium exterior paint formulations. Exterior painters Perth will use eco-friendly paint alternatives. Most importantly, these offer the same excellent performance without the hazardous emissions connected to conventional paints.
Nevertheless, Exterior painters Perth makes your house a cheerful spot for your guests. They intend to visit them and establish a professional rapport. Even the outside surface upkeep of the building structure is under your purview. As a result, the value of your previous home will rise. A Day in the Life of an Aged Care Perth Worker
In Perth, aged care professionals are indispensable in providing support and compassionate care to the elderly. These dedicated individuals often exceed expectations to ensure the well-being and comfort of those they serve. A typical day for an aged care Perth worker is characterized by unwavering dedication, patience, and empathy. This essential yet often underappreciated profession requires both physical stamina and emotional resilience, driven by a profound commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors.
Morning Routine: Laying the Foundation for the Day
For many aged care Perth workers, the day starts early. Arriving at the care facility before sunrise, they prepare for the morning responsibilities ahead. A brief meeting with the night staff provides updates on any incidents or important information from the previous shift, setting the stage for the day's activities. One of the first duties involves assisting residents with their morning routines. This includes helping them get out of bed, managing personal hygiene, dressing, and ensuring they take their prescribed medications.
Simple tasks such as brushing teeth or combing hair can be challenging for elderly residents due to limited mobility or cognitive issues. Aged care Perth workers offer not only practical assistance but also encouragement, ensuring each resident is treated with dignity and respect.
“Every morning, I remind myself that I’m helping someone’s mum or dad. That’s how I approach each task—with the care and patience I’d want for my own family,” shares Sarah, an aged care Perth worker.
Providing Meals and Ensuring Nutrition
Once the residents are ready, it's time for breakfast. Nutrition is a crucial aspect of elderly care, and aged care Perth workers often take the lead in preparing and serving meals. Special attention is given to those with dietary restrictions or those who need assistance eating, ensuring their nutritional needs are fully met.
Mealtimes also serve as important moments for social interaction. Many residents look forward to engaging with the staff, sharing memories, or simply enjoying the companionship of someone who listens attentively.
“The best part of the day is sitting down with them at breakfast. You hear some amazing stories—some of our residents have lived through war, migration, and incredible changes in Perth. It’s an honour to be part of their lives,” Sarah adds.
Midday Care: Managing Medications and Engaging in Activities
As the day moves forward, aged care Perth workers are responsible for administering medications and closely monitoring the health of residents. This task demands meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, as timely and accurate medication management is essential for maintaining residents' health.
In addition to medical care, aged care Perth workers organize various activities throughout the day. These can range from physiotherapy sessions and arts and crafts to simple walks in the garden. Such activities are designed to keep residents physically active, mentally stimulated, and provide them with a sense of purpose and enjoyment.
“For many residents, these activities are the highlight of their day. Whether it’s painting or playing games, the joy they get from participating is priceless. It reminds you that even small actions can make a big difference in someone’s life,” Sarah reflects.
Afternoon: Providing Emotional Support and Building Relationships
While the physical aspects of care are vital, emotional support is equally important in aged care Perth settings. Professionals in this field build strong, meaningful relationships with residents, often becoming like family members to those who may not have nearby loved ones.
Loneliness is a common issue in aged care facilities, and workers like Sarah play a crucial role in alleviating this by offering companionship. Simple gestures such as sitting with a resident, holding their hand, or listening to their concerns can provide immense comfort and emotional relief.
“Some residents don’t get many visitors, so we become their companions. Being able to offer them a smile or a kind word can make their day. It’s these connections that make my job so fulfilling,” Sarah explains.
Evening Care: Concluding the Day with Respect and Comfort
As the day winds down, aged care Perth workers assist residents with their evening routines. This includes helping them change into pajamas, preparing for bed, and administering any necessary night-time medications. For some residents, bedtime can be a period of heightened anxiety, so providing reassurance and creating a calming environment is essential to ensure they feel safe and comfortable.
The end of the day also offers a moment for reflection. For Sarah and her colleagues, knowing they have positively impacted the lives of their residents is incredibly rewarding.
Conclusion: The Heartbeat of Aged Care Perth
The daily life of an aged care Perth worker is one of dedication, compassion, and resilience. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to build meaningful relationships, making the work both varied and deeply rewarding. These professionals are the backbone of the aged care sector, ensuring that the elderly in Perth are treated with the utmost respect and kindness, especially during their most vulnerable moments.
In an industry that often goes unnoticed, aged care Perth workers deserve immense recognition for their essential role in supporting the city’s elderly population. Their unwavering commitment to brightening each day for their residents exemplifies their passion and professionalism.
The aged care community in Perth is more than just a service; it is a network of individuals like Sarah who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for the elderly. This dedication transforms aged care Perth from merely a job into a true calling.
By sharing stories like these, we aim to foster greater appreciation for the professionals who dedicate so much of themselves every day to care for others
