Ignacio Casale piensa en los próximos días luego de decimotercer puesto en el prólogo del Dakar 2023

La dupla nacional formada por Ignacio Casale y el navegante Álvaro León del equipo X-Raid Yamaha logró un buen apronte al obtener la P13 en la clase T3 en el prólogo del Dakar 2023 en las cercanías de Yanbu, Arabia Saudita. Casale se sintió muy cómodo en su nuevo Yamaha YXZ1000 Turbo y pudo notar que es un auto capaz de luchar por los primeros puestos, pero se tomó el día con calma sabiendo que en los 13 kilómetros en un trazado con muchas curvas técnicas y algo resbaladizo era fácil cometer errores que podían costar más caro. Desde mañana se viene el desafío real con 367 kilómetros de especial en el menú.

"Terminamos el prólogo del Dakar 2023, una especial corta que decide el orden de largada. Con Álvaro y el equipo decidimos andar tranquilos, ya que queda una larga carrera por delante, de 14 etapas, y, por lo tanto, no nos podíamos volver locos hoy para no pagarlo caro. Vamos a largar en el puesto 13 e intentaremos lo mejor posible para comenzar el Dakar de la mejor manera y tener una buena primera etapa" comentó Casale, que se integró esta temporada al equipo oficial X-Raid Yamaha luego de dos temporadas junto al Buggyra Tatra en la categoría Camiones. Casale terminó a 22 segundos de la ganadora Cristina Gutiérrez del Red Bull Can-Am. 

Fue una buena jornada en general para el X-Raid Yamaha ya que el mejor clasificado del equipo fue el portugués Ricardo Porem con una P6 a solo 15 segundos del tiempo más rápido. Joao Ferreira fue P17 y el qatarí Ahmed Alkuwari Fahad fue P20, luego hubo cuatro Yamaha en el Top 20. Además, Merce Marti quedó P22. 

“¡Prólogo hecho! Mañana comenzará la carrera seria. Estoy encantada de que todos los equipos del X-Raid Yamaha Supported Team lo hayan hecho bien y no hayan tenido problemas. De acuerdo, fue solo un breve prólogo, pero nos puso en el modo de carrera para cuando las cosas se pongan serias mañana. Ricardo, Ignacio y João tuvieron comienzos impresionantes en su primer Dakar con Yamaha YXZ1000R, y las siete tripulaciones están emocionadas y listas para enfrentar la Etapa 1 cuando el rally comience de verdad el domingo” comentó Camelia Liparoti, piloto oficial del X-Raid Yamaha y Coordinadora del Programa de Yamaha Europa.

After months of  enforced waiting the 2020 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season finally gets underway this weekend (August 29th and 30th). Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic hosts the first round with 17 trucks aiming to take the race start (16 full-season entries and one race-by-race entrant).

A noticeable debut at round one is that of 16-year old (the youngest ever FIA ETRC entrant) Aliyyah Koloc in a Buggyra Zero Mileage Racing Freightliner. Aliyyah has already experienced the truck and circuit as she completed some testing there earlier in the year.

A new powerhouse is set to debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) in 2022. Buggyra ZM Racing will expand its worldwide racing program to field two cars in the European NASCAR series for Aliyyah and Yasmeen Koloc. The two 17-year-old twin sisters will pilot a pair of Ford Mustangs, carrying number #29 and #47, in both EuroNASCAR championships.

Ignacio Casale anuncia su salida del equipo Buggyra Racing

El piloto chileno Ignacio Casale buscará nuevos rumbos para el Dakar 2023 luego de anunciar que ya no forma parte del equipo Buggyra Racing con quienes disputó los últimos dos Dakar en camiones pilotando un Tatra. Casale señaló que anunciará sus planes para el próximo Dakar y lo que queda de temporada próximamente.

“En este post quiero informarles que ya no pertenezco al team Buggyra Racing, quiero agradecer a todo el equipo y familia Buggyra por estas dos fantásticas 2 temporadas que vivimos juntos arriba de mi camion Tatra. Gracias por confiar en mi y darme la oportunidad de manejar el espectacular Tatra. Gracias también a mi jefe, Martin Koloc, que se transformó en un gran amigo. Estoy seguro que solo es un “hasta pronto”. Pronto informare sobre mi futuro y Dakar 2023. Abrazo a todos” comentó Casale en sus redes sociales.

Casale y su navegante Álvaro León se han mantenido activos esta temporada disputando el Campeonato Nacional de Rally Cross Country y ganaron una etapa en el reciente Atacama Rally con su Yamaha. 

Junto al Buggyra Racing, Casale disputó los últimos dos Dakar siendo P9 en su debut en 2021 y abandonando por una falla de motor en el Dakar 2022, aunque mostrando competitividad antes y después del abandono con etapas dentro del Top 5.
