Bat Family Show Concept

I’ll admit while I’m more of a casual Bat-Man fan, I’ve been stalking the Bat Family concept posts on here and love the idea! 

It made me wonder why no networks have tried to make it a show yet? And that made me think about how it might play out. But since I’m still pretty green I need advice as to where to put which Bat kid in each of the middle child roles.

See Damian and Dick are easy to place. 

Damian: Baby, like actually only 4-5 years old, with lots of chaos energy. The other Bat kids consider babysitting him worse than a one on one training session with Bruce. 

Dick: 19-20 years old, finally off at college and trying to enjoy a normal life and put superhero stunts behind him (at least for now). Basically he's Nora from Cheaper by the Dozen, and keeps getting called back to the manor to meditate fights and babysit.

Then I have middle children roles, but am not sure who would fit best where.

9-10 year old Bat: Just learned the family secret or was just officially adopted by the family and is so excited to be here training. Because we are freaking SUPERHEROS!

12-13 year old Bat: Current Robin, but is getting frustrated with the role (they can only go on night patrols with Bruce and even then only once or twice a month) and really wants their own super persona. Keeps trying out new names and costumes on their siblings, each more ridiculous (would be really funny if some of the personas referenced B role DC heroes) than the last.

15-16 and 16-17 year old Bats: Have their own superhero personas and have just started going on solo night patrols once a week. Current Robin is very jealous of them and they may rub it in the younger kid’s face just a bit.

But wait, where's Jason you may ask? He is the black sheep of the family (we don't talk about Bruno), the younger Bats barely remember/ didn’t know him at all. He left the night Talia dropped baby Damian at the manor. It was after a huge fight with Bruce over the family business that he ran off with Talia al Ghul and the League of Assassins. But as the show kicks off a new villain Red Hood has been growing power in the streets of Gotham. Nobody knows who he is or where he came from. Will there be a big dramatic reveal? Absolutely. Also Jason does not know about Damian or why Talia was in Gotham city that night. Just to add more drama of course.

Alfred will be the rock of the manor as he’s always been. He knows each of the Bats favorite late stakeout night drinks, the only way to get Damian to go to bed, and is the reason Dick keeps coming back to help out at the manor. Basically the overextended MVP, but he loves every minute of it because he remembers how quiet and empty the manor was after Bruce lost his parents. He is thriving in all the noise and life the manor has now.

*edit* Had another idea Barbara Gordon while not officially a Wayne, she is the nerdy kid from school who figures them out and follows them home one day to the Bat Cave. At first they are suspicious of her but, after she makes them give her a chance by threatening to tell her dad The Commissioner, she proves herself trustworthy and is inducted into the team. Basically the only child is enamored by large family trope, with more punching. (P.S. she uses the name Batgirl semi ironically because it’s what Damian called her when he first saw her suited up)

Camilo Analysis

Bruh, who even is Camilo? He is arguably the Madrigal we get the least real characterization for, other than Teenage Boy, which is a very broad category of person. So as per usual, it helps me to get my thoughts in order if I write this stuff down.

First, Mirabel introduces Camilo through song and we right of way see him shapeshift into a young mother so he can sooth her baby while she takes a nap. That's actually a really great way to imply several things about his character (oh my god guys, this movie is so well written).

Thoughtful enough to offer a new mom a chance to rest

Comfortable caring for infants (probs helped care for Antonio?)

More patient than I would have thought, because taking care of a baby while the mother rests is not a quick and easy favor

Sort of implies that he likes kids

Then Mirabel sings he "won't stop until he makes you smile today" while he turns into multiple people and doing goofy stuff. Everybody already knows he's an entertainer at heart but I gotta add it to the list anyways.

5. Likes making people laugh

6. Plays around with his gift a lot

Moving on to Antonio's party, he's the guy greeting all the villagers by name, and he changes his energy to match each person.

7. Knows a lot of the villagers

8. Charming and personable

9. Respects his elders (kisses the old woman on the cheek)

He jokes around with Antonio, probably in an attempt to soothe his nerves, and teases his Pa. This reinforces points one, four, five and six. If this was a different list, I would talk about what it means that Camilo is clearly comfortable teasing his father, despite the seemingly stern reaction Félix has, but I digress.

He stands with Julieta while Antonio and Mirabel walk to the door, giving birth to a lot headcanons about them being especially close, and I'm going to roll with it.

10. Of his siblings, he's closest to Julieta.

Then he's very excited for Antonio as he discovers his room, it's actually the happiest we see him in the movie (other than perhaps when he's dancing in We Don't Talk About Bruno). So:

11. Supportive? Or maybe just enjoys seeing other people happy?

Plot happens, fast forward to breakfast when he pretends to be Dolores so he can get double the food. Then teases Isabela about Mariano, something he does a lot in the movie.

Fast forward some more, all the way to We Don't Talk About Bruno. He absolutely kills it, and clearly enjoys the whole production. If you're like me and you headcanon that the musical numbers happen in universe then we can conclude:

And if you headcanon they don't:

14. Enjoys telling stories.

15. Probably hasn't thought through the consequences of telling everybody his Tío is a seven foot tall boogy man that feasts on screams. Which is very normal for a fifteen year old boy.

Teases Isabela about Mariano again. More plot happens. Time For Dinner. Dolores gossips to him as soon as she can, then he immediately gossips to his Pá. When Félix accidentally spits his drink onto Mariano, Camilo has to hold in a laugh. It's possible he doesn't really like Mariano, he keeps making jokes about the guy, at the very least he doesn't take him seriously. I wonder if he's the sort of guy that prefers to hang out with women?

16. Close to his sister.

17. Close to his father.

18. Shapeshifts reflexively/accidentally.

More plot. We see him try to soothe his mother.

19. Takes care of his Má. Pepa is literally unable to hide her emotions, so it would make sense that, through no real fault of her own, the kids slowly learn to take care of her as they grow up. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and all. On the flip side, the fact that sun beams come out whenever they get home from school or learn a new skill probs means the kids can never doubt that Pepa loves them. Plus, she likely has the easiest time transitioning from a parent-child relationship to a parent-adult offspring relationship of all the adults. So Camilo might be growing closer to his Má as he gets closer to adulthood.

The longer the plot goes on the less we see him. He's clearly frustrated with his gift glitching on him, but that doesn't really tell me much. It's a situation that would frustrate anyone and they don't show us how he handles those negative emotions. They also don't show us how he handles hearing the end of Mirabel's and Abuela's argument. Rude. They do show us him leaping to the candle's aid while the house crashes down around him so clearly:

20. Sees the Miracle as more important than his own safety.

The house falls, the candle goes out, in the background we hear him first remark on his gift being gone, then wonder how this will effect his little brother. We already know he enjoys using his gift, I can theorize he's made Being a Shapeshifter an important part of his identity, but all we have that's concrete is:

21: He doesn't just enjoy his gift, it is important to him.

22. Empathetic.

Mirabel runs off, resolution happens, Mirabel comes back. He is the one who cuts through the reunion to point out their house is gone, and even gets a little exasperated when he catches a bit of flack from Félix.

23. Not an optimist. Might be a pessimist, but most likely just not particularly sentimental.

For the rest of the scene he exists in a state of confusion. The hits start coming and they don't stop coming. Apparently Tío Bruno is just suddenly back now? And it kind of seems like half the family isn't surprised or asking any questions?! There's not a lot of conclusions I can draw from him being shocked and confused that Bruno just sort of appeared out of nowhere, I think most people would be. And unlike the parents or the older cousins, he doesn't have enough memories from when Bruno was around to be swept up in the joy of seeing him again. His reaction is relatable and endearing, but not very revealing.

The last character moment we get is when he tries to twirl the shovel around all fancy, almost drops it, then checks to make sure Mirabel wasn't watching. It reinforces things already mentioned, like him being showy, and wanting to entertain those around him, but also:

24. Wants to be seen as cool. Another very normal trait for a teenage boy.

It is interesting that the first person he looks at is Mirabel, I can't help but wonder if that would have been the case at the beginning of the movie. There's room for interpretation there, but regardless, by the end of the movie:

25. Respects Mirabel's opinion.

Dadneto/XMCU

1. pictures in my head [COMPLETED] Erik arrives at the school for the first time since he left after X-Men Apocalypse. Peter struggles with becoming comfortable around his father and with the idea of telling him that he’s his son. Also there’s a new Brotherhood that’s forming in the meantime.  2. We don’t talk about Erik (CWIP): Loosely based on Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” song. Not a songfic. It takes a look at Peter and Wanda and their relationship with the concept of their father when they were young. Kind of a Maximoff family character study. Featuring a much bigger Maximoff family with uncles, aunts and cousins.  3. Untitled Dadneto fanfics: Three different fanfics, each focusing on Peter, Wanda and Lorna and their relationships with Erik. Set in the far future where Peter is married to Crystal and Luna is 5 years old.  4. you’re the one I wanna go through time with (CrySilver Romance): A prequel to the above three fanfics focusing on Peter and Crystal’s relationship going from their initial meetings to their marriage and having Luna. It also includes Wanda’s introduction into the XMCU. (Disclaimer: Crystal is much different than her comic book counterpart, and Wanda is not MCU Wanda, she is my own character more based of her comics version.) 5. Untitled Lorna and Peter fanfic: When Lorna shows up at the mansion revealing that Erik is her father, Peter is shocked to find someone in the same situation as him and is glad to have a sister again. Will Lorna be able to convince him to also come clean to Erik? Focuses a lot on Lorna and Peter’s relationship. Wanda is dead rip 6. Untitled First Class AU (FWIP): What if Erik knew about Peter and Wanda and had to babysit them for a day at the mansion while the X-Men are training in First Class? 7. Father and Son: A Dadneto Anthology: This is just a bunch of Dadneto reveals. I have so many different ideas for reveals and I figured I could just put them all in one place since not all of them have turned into fully fledged fanfics.

Miraculous Ladybug

1. The Color of Your Eyes [COMPLETED]: Marinette writes a letter about her date with Adrien to Chat Noir late at night. A songfic. Originally posted on my main blog. 2. A Kitten for Chat Noir: Chat Noir feels lonely and finds himself bonding with an abandoned kitten one snowy night.  3. 20 Questions: Ladybug and Chat Noir decide to reveal their identities and start by playing 20 questions. 

Marvel Comics

Home Alone: Franklin, Valeria and the Future Foundation get left home alone. Disaster strikes. Obviously.  5. Of Latveria and Libraries: Franklin and his first crush, Sara Jessen, do a school report on Latverian history. 

Miscellaneous

1. burning stars: A Narnia/Silver Chair fanfic about Prince Rilian adjusting to life after being rescued by Jill and Eustace and learning how to live and love again.  2. Untitled Jeyna fanfic: A story where Reyna fights Death to get Jason back from the Underworld based on the concepts of myth of Alcestis.  3. Untitled Post TROS Reylo fanfic : Rey goes on a long quest to find a way to bring Ben Solo, the other half of her soul, back to life. Along the way she makes new friends and runs into old ones. Not a retcon of The Rise of Skywalker, mainly canon compliant.  4. In Which Megan Comes To Ingary: Set in the Howl’s Moving Castle book universe and set after the third book, House of Many Ways. About Megan and Howl’s relationship, their past and their future as siblings. Also a bit of mystery around who their father was.

That insane cackling you heard in the distance was me upon reading this ask. Um. Yes. Yes I do have many encanto fic recs and I’m so glad you asked! I’m limiting myself to 10 of my all time favorites. Should you choose to delve in I’d be happy to rec more. I tried to do a smattering of the types of fics I like.

Note, Bruno is my favorite character and as such most of these are Bruno-centric or he plays a major role.

Just trust me on this one. It’s fantastic. I’ve literally reread it 5 times. If Bruno as a time wizard plus a really great look at the relationship between him and Mirabel sounds like your cup of tea I cannot recommend this one enough.

Post canon, Mirabel can’t help but feel as though something is going to go wrong; mysterious Tío Bruno is behaving more strangely than usual and something about the magic seems to be changing. Not only that, but an old danger is lurking in the shadows of the mountains surrounding the Encanto.

I adore everything about this fic. Cannibalthoughts writes Bruno’s internal headspace SO WELL it’s the perfect blend of humor and angst.

This one leans into the fact that they’re all Catholic and explores how Bruno feels about being a prophet. Also has a fantastic conversation between him and Mirabel. This one has my whole heart and I’ve reread it many times.

Part of the Madrigal In-Laws Verse that flushes out Felix and Agustin’s families. I highly recommend everything in this series but Prophet is my favorite.

Post-Canon. Bruno is only technically the youngest. Really, it's by fifteen minutes, but he is also the smallest, and prone to sickness. The fainting spells probably don't help the weakness his sisters see. Bruno is hypoglycemic, which is annoying, but not dangerous. It gets much worse when he enters the walls.

Listen, come closer, have you ever read something that left you just sitting in awe and wonder, something that every time you reread it you pick up on something new because there is just SO MUCH amazing detail? Because this is that. I cannot sing this fic’s praises enough. Also if AU’s aren’t your thing go read archive-rat’s other Encanto fics set in canon verse (do that even if AUs are your thing) I was very tempted to rec them individually. Landscape with the Fall of Icarus and Axolotl are my favorites. 

Just Your Ordinary, Everyday Miracle by @16magnolias Rated T 283K WIP

Bruno/Original Female Character post-canon fic that starts with the question of ‘where did Bruno get the horse?’ at the end of the movie. 

A candle. A living house. Magical powers. A 15-year-old girl named Mirabel. Miracles can come in all shapes and sizes, and Bruno's latest miracle may just take the shape of a 41-year-old widow named Lucía and her daughter Josefina. And – uh – maybe also a horse. 

This fic has my whole heart. Lucia is such a well written and flushed out character and Mags’ writing is so cozy and I love it so so so so so much. If Bruno/OFC sounds interesting definitely give this one a read.

oooh!! ok so, slightly long complicated answer because it was a lot of things really! I really liked watching sketch comedy on youtube as a kid and rewatched the behind the scenes on every film i could 100x over, and when my friend got an Ipad I used to BEG for us to make films and trailers on imovie everytime I was at hers.

When I got older, like high school age, art was my favourite subject and I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I graduated, but I knew I wanted it to be creative. So I made a portfolio and applied to 5 art universities. And then I got 5 rejections, because I really loved art, but my passion (and skill) is not in fine art or illustration, and my portfolio showed it. But that was a blessing in disguise!! To quote an old Scots phrase that was much repeated to me at the time "What's fir ye will nae go by ye", basically what's for you, won't pass you by. But because I had no university or college place lined up, and no apprenticeship or job lined up either, I had to do a summer course while a careers advisor tried to help me figure out what I wanted to do with my future. On that summer buisness and employability course, I had an instructor who talked about what's he'd done before choosing to change career paths to education. He'd done a film degree and told us all about what it was like to study film and work on a set and how it's a career that can really appeal to people who struggle with other jobs getting too repetitive or structured, but needing some level of structure to succeed. and that really clicked with me!

So a few weeks later, when my careers advisor asked 'Any ideas what courses you want to try and find a place on?' I immediately said film.

and that got me a place on a 1-year college course doing Film and TV Production, and in the middle of that I got a place on a residential short course through the BFI where I worked on my first fully budgeted short-film!! Then the two of them together got me a place on my current university course! and now I'm doing that and it's taking up almost every hour of the day but I love it!!! :)

also I did indeed see some cute critters, because...

I got pet rats last week!! :D

Introducing the lads: Yay and Yoker!! :D

Yay's the longer one on the left with the very defined brown/fawn coloured hooded pattern and smooth fur, he's more cautious of me but once I've given him some vegetables he gets a bit more bold and will play around a bit more. On the right is Yoker, he's got 'rex' or curly type fur and is still a hooded rat, but has a much more peachy colour so it's harder to see. Yoker is very food motivated and isn't scared of me at all anymore, if there's a pea or a cornflake being offered he will ignore any and all hazards to get to it. In that way he's much like his big brother Bruno!!

Bruno's doing good! He's kinda scared of the rats (when he goes near the cage Yoker runs up to check him out, and the speed he moves at scares Bruno so he'll go sit behind me or across the room and watch the rats from a distance). He's actually sitting under my leg right now, purring away :) He's a wee old man, so very big into sleeping, lazing around and cuddling up to me at the moment. Also don't worry, we never have the rats out when the cats nearby them, he's never shown interest in chasing small animals and he's much more interested in watching them than trying to get at them, but I understand animals have a prey drive so we're keeping them separate to be safe.

Do you mind explaining what evillous is? It looks like miku, rin and len to me? is it just a vocaloid song that they were given unique identities in?

evillious (or the evillious chronicles but that's too much for me to be bothered to type out again and again) is a massive multimedia franchise made by the vocaloid producer mothy!

the vocaloids basically serve as actors in it which is why most characters look a lot like their corresponding voicebanks.... but also the close resemblance the characters can be 50/50 like on one hand you have michaela who looks JUST like miku but on the other hand you have ma who's a luka but looks.. nothing like a luka (tbf that is bc of bodyswapping but also like . come on . the girl she bodyswapped with was also a luka) and then there's characters like bruno who, despite being p fucking important, doesn't have a vocaloid at all

but also i think the reason riliane, allen and michaela look so much like their vocaloids in those figures is bc they're meant as 'rin in this one song', 'len in this one song' and 'miku in this one song' and not 'riliane lucifen d'autriche, a character who has 5 light novels, a bunch of manga volumes, and too many songs to count that are all primarily about her' etc etc (i'm not calculating allen and michaela's appearances or the amount of manga volumes riliane is in you could not pay me to (actually you could and i know the exact price but no one's going to)). also the evillious characters all have p defined facial features that get ironed out when they get converted into generic anime figure style.

^^ maybe my perception is warped as an evillious fan but i do not ever see ichika's illustrations of riliane and think 'that's kagamine rin'

in regards to what evillious actually is though, it's also known as story of evil and the seven deadly sins series, and if you're into vocaloid (esp if you've been into vocaloid for any decent amount of time) whether you know it or not, you are very, very familiar with at least a little bit of evillious. and by that i mean you've heard daughter of evil at least once, and also probably servant of evil, the tailor of enbizaka, the lunacy of duke venomania and judgement of corruption. the story basically follows this world known as the third period from its creation to its destruction (and a bit before and after). the seven deadly sins series makes up the bulk of evillious and follows seven people at different times and locations throughout this world's history and those around them as they get possessed by the seven deadly sins and uhm . well it should be p obvious that nothing good comes of that. story of evil is a colloqiual name given to the pride arc bc daughter of evil, servant of evil and regret message were the first songs mothy released that were explicitly meant to be tied together upon release (he likes to drop a song and then be like 'teehee this was part of the evillious canon all along' years later) and the evillious name wouldn't come around til much later.

if you want to actually get into evillious, you really have to go by release order or you will get very confused very quickly (gasp! the guy who likes fate enough to run a daily blog based around it for over a year has strong opinions on that age old issue of watch order (not the right phrase bc i am a fate anime adaptation hater til the day i die and the evillious anime never actually got made but. you know what i mean)!) mainly bc of the sheer amount of body swapping and reincarnation that goes on and the scifi fantasy concepts that get explained when they first appear and then never again. the songs all have translated pvs up on youtube (a lot of pvs are fanmade and may have aged poorly w noncanon visuals so don't fully let your guard down) and most if not all written materials have tls by @/pricechecktranslations here on tumblr. obligatory warning for a lot of incest and also everyone fucking dying goes here, there are more cws that should be attached to it but we'd be here literally for fucking ever if i were to list all of them bc it's huge and every bad thing happens at least once but those are the two big ones that happen in most if not all arcs.

rating Golden Wind ships

Giorno/Mista - 4/10. It can be cute sometimes, but the age gap isn't my cup of tea. I used to be kind of obsessed with it as a kid, but now that I'm actually fifteen, the idea of dating an eighteen-year-old just doesn't seem right. I'm being such a hypocrite right now, though, because they're the main ship in my favourite fanfic ever. They’re closer in age in that, though, so…

Giorno/Narancia - 9/10. Honestly can't decide if I like them as a ship or only as friends. I do think they've got a super underrated and cool dynamic, ship or not. Anyway, I'm pretty partial to them.

Giorno/Fugo - 10/10. This is my preferred Giorno ship and my preferred Fugo ship. I think they have a lot of possibility together.

Giorno/Trish - 8/10. I sort of prefer them as just friends, but together is cute too.

Mista/Fugo - 8/10. Pretty sure only me and one other person ship this. I think it's so cute 🙏 I read a really cool fic about them once.

Mista/Trish - 6/10. Same thing as Mista and Giorno, honestly! I think their relationship is more brother-sister than romantic. I used to really love them as a ship, but again...being fifteen, the idea of dating an 18 year old isn't my favourite.

1. Hot Pants x Diego (Hot Pants is a very interesting and complex female character with a rich backstory and compelling ideals which is incredibly rare in jjba. Diego is a cunning and and tragic antagonist who was built upon his predecessor and made into such an insanely complex yet entertaining new form. This ship takes both of these characters and reduces them into nothing, especially Hot Pants. The scene shown as romantic between them gives me the ick. They both seem to mildly dislike eachother outside of their alliance and once they have that alliance I do not see any kind of chemistry. I could've disregarded this ship as nothing, a fandom shipper concoction that I would've simply ignored, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT PUTTING THESE TWO IN A ROMANCE REDUCES THEM BOTH. I AM A DINOPANTS HATER THROUGH AND THROUGH.)

2. Jolyne x Anasui (the difference between this ship and Yukako x Koichi to me is that Yukako is a 15 year old who changed for the better and fully admitted to being crazy while Anasui is a grown man wHO HAS MURDERED TWO PEOPLE WITHOUT REMORSE. JOLYNE RUN.)

Unbeknownst to Alma, her three children got magical rooms with gifts.

Julieta could grow plants and flowers, Pepa could control the weather with her emotions, and Bruno could see the future.

Naturally, Julieta became her mother’s golden child, but that didn’t mean there became a rift between her and Pepa.

Given their nature-themed gifts, the sisters grew closer, spending more time together and often gossiping about townspeople they didn’t like, as well as Bruno…

This resulted in both sisters becoming quite mean, gossiping and bullying Bruno because of his negative visions, and anyone they don’t like.

But Félix, and especially Agustín, still saw good in them.

While Félix was head over heals for Pepa from day one, Agustín befriended Julieta and the two started dating later.

The two genuinely fell in love, Julieta even changing her awful behavior as a result of being with him.

But that all went downhill…

After Isabela was born, Julieta went back to her awful behavior. She often left Agustín to take care of Isabela and Dolores while she went out with Pepa and Félix, she belittled Agustín whenever he got into an accident, she gossiped about him with Pepa and the townspeople, and she complained about how hard motherhood was.

And Agustín? He held out hope that the woman he fell in love with came back, that Julieta woud change again, and for good, that she’’d be a mother for Isabela…

But that never happened…

Julieta slept with her husband whenever she was in the mood, so Luisa and Mirabel would still be born.

When Isabela got her gift, which was healing with her food, Julieta, Alma and Pepa immediately put her to work, making Alma and Agustín teach her how to cook and forcing her to walk around town with a basket of food to give to the townspeople.

��Your job is to cook all our meals, got it?” Julieta told her daughter, leaving no room for questions for Isabela.

So, whenever it was time to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, Isabela had to make all the food and dishes, while the rest of the family either did their own chores or were sitting at the table or somewhere else without bothering to help her.

“Isabela, make an arepa for your Tía.” Julieta told her 7 year old daughter while she and Pepa sat at the dinner table gossiping. “Oh, and make a tamale for me.”

So, Isabela forcefully became everyone’s caretaker. Whenever her family demanded a dish from her, she’d make it. She had to stand near her stand of food in the town all day taking care of the townspeople, and she had to take the insults and scoldings from her Mamá and Tía…

The only people Isabela was happy to take care of were her Papá and hermanas.

It actually became a routine to give her papá a tamale whenever he got into an accident, or give Luisa an empanada when Isa saw her younger sister being tired, or give little Mirabel an arepa con queso as a little reward for helping her with cooking.

But things would change for the worse when Mirabel’s ceremony arrived, and she didn’t get a gift…

After Mira’s door disappeared, Isabela noticed how Mamá and Tía Pepa gave the 5 year old girl disappointed and disgusted looks, how the villagers were whispering to each other, and how their Abuela’s expression changed into a confusing one.

That night, Isabela and Agustín were the only ones comforting Mirabel in the nursery…

“You know what?” Isabela said, making a decision. “You can stay in my room. We can share. How does that sound?”

No way would she let her youngest sister stay in the nursery a moment longer…

Mira lit up, and hugged Isa tightly, accepting her offer.

That same night, Agustín and Isa moved Mira’s stuff to the latter’s room.

But the next day, it turned out that Bruno left…

While Pepa and Julieta didn’t really care that their brother left (he was a useless coward anyways), both blamed Mirabel for him leaving…

Both sisters started the whole “we don’t talk about Bruno” thing, and bad-mouthed and gossiped about him quite often.

And while Alma didn’t really do anything to stop her daughters’ awful behavior, she secretly did miss her son…

“Isabela, why do you have that pest in your room?” Julieta asked her oldest the next day, pointing at her youngest. “Bring her back to the nursery, she’s useless to us.”

“She’s my hermanita!” Isabela yelled at her mother, holding a crying Mirabel.

“Fine, keep your pet.” Julieta snarled, before walking away, shoving Isa out of her way.

That same day, Isabela went to her Papá and basically begged him to separate with Julieta and to move somewhere else far away from that witch and take her and her sisters with him, but it wasn’t that easy…

“Your mother was nicer, once…” Agustín explained to his 11 year old daughter. “I loved that nicer woman, I still do, and I still hope that nice woman would return someday. But her behavior to you and your sisters isn’t right. And I’ll make sure to call her out on that, and be there for you and your sisters.”

And he’d keep that promise, as Agustín yelled at Julieta for calling Mira a pest and useless, and argued with her constantly over how she treated all three of their daughters.

It gave Isabela a little more perspective, even if she was still 11.

So, she promised herself that she’d take care of her sisters, especially Mirabel. She would make their lives, including Papá’s, a little bit easier.

And she did exactly that, for 10 years.

And after Antonio was born, Isa would often take care of him, after Pepa and Félix proved they would rather dump their son onto her instead of being actual parents.

But after 16 years of having to cook every single meal for the family and taking care of the town, after 10 years of caring for her sisters, and after 5 years of basically raising her youngest primo, Isabela couldn’t take it anymore.

One day, when the morning arrived, Isabela just couldn’t get out of bed. It was like all the energy was sucked out of her…

“Isabela, get up! Breakfast doesn’t make itself!” Julieta yelled from the other side of the door, even slamming on it.

A wave of guilt and shame hit Isa. She didn’t want to deal with an angry mother and aunt, and her sisters and Antonio need her, but she just didn’t have any energy…

“Fine! Let us starve!” Julieta screamed, before stomping off.

In the end, Alma made breakfast for the family, and it changed something in the matriarch.

Seeing how her two daughters have become entitled self-centered bullies who think the world revolved around them, and that her son had left, Alma started to focus on her grandchildren.

She saw how overwhelmed Dolores could be due to her gift, Alma saw how overworked Luisa was with having to do so many stupid chores around town. She saw how Camilo was the obvious golden child and how he struggled with his own identity. Alma saw how she treated Mirabel like a burden, and how isolated the girl felt due to her lack of a gift. She saw how Antonio lacked parents who actually paid attention to him and how he saw Isabela as his mamá.

And Alma saw how Isabela was suffering from an obvious burn-out…

So, together with Agustín, Alma would push her two daughters aside, and start to take care of her grandchildren.

So weird/funny idea. What if Dual trip kinda. Keeps happening in the rest of the parts? Like, Part 4 would be pretty similar to your Hidden In Plain Sight AU just with Yukako being more stable so that Koichi has an actual Squad before he meets Rohan, and they both go after Kira for different reasons—Koichi's group of him, Yukako, and Rohan being guided by Reimi; and Josuke's group of himself, Okuyasu, and Jotaro going after him because he killed/hospitalized Shigechi.

Part 5 features Giorno doing a lot of Accidental Kidnapping/Recruiting. Koichi is one thing, but then, before he even officially joins Bruno's group he accidentally convinces Trish that he's her Mafia escort (or straight up accidentally kidnaps her) and now they're on the run. This ends up in a 4-way battle between Giorno and his ragtag group, Bucciarati's gang, La Squadra, and the lower level grunts who are fighting for their own reasons, mainly recognition from the boss. (Giorno probably Charismas a few to his side, because he's Giorno. Possibly including Sheila E from Purple Haze Distortion.)

As for Bruno's gang, Abbachio is in the same situation Joseph was in, his stand constantly giving him the Worst Possible Moments, except this time with the added benefit of Giorno somehow always looking good; Fugo leaves Bucciarati's group just to immediately get dragged into Giorno's (unwillingly); Bruno is wondering what the hell Giorno did to have things go this far off the rails thIS WAS NOT THE PLAN, and Mista and Narancia are just constantly Out Of The Loop.

I don't even know what the divisions are for Stone Ocean. Maybe Jolyne fighting for Jotaro with Foof and Anasui, and Ermes, Weather, and Emporio teaming up and getting into trouble for their own individual goals which only partially involves fricking Pucci over.

Bonus: Iggy is still serving the same role of go-between in each part. Average age for dogs be damned.

OOOOOOOOOOOO THAT’S FUN AND CHAOTIC

What if this time Yukako and Koichi have been friends for a while, perhaps they met before her crush developed into the obsessive level as canon. And their side of the plot kicks off when one day soon after their first day of high school, the both of them get shot by Keicho when they’re walking home. Yukako was doing fine, but Koichi..... not so much. And as Yukako’s running to get him to a hospital, what if they accidentally run into Josuke along the way and he subtly heals Koichi in a way to ensure his injuries wouldn’t be lethal or cause any long term consequences. This also ends up being what cues Josuke in on who’s making all these enemy Stand Users so he and Jotaro can go deal with it, getting Okuyasu onto their team

and I also had a fun idea for how Centipede Shoes could go. I’m not sure about how exactly to get there, but when Koichi goes to call for help, he wouldn’t be able to call Josuke. Instead, he ends up calling Rohan, who immediately starts panicking upon seeing Koichi’s body because he can’t heal. So in what was a VERY desperate bid for Koichi’s survival, he wrote something like “Koichi Hirose will survive his fight with the killer” and immediately started hauling ass to the hospital praying it would work

And Part 5....... oh god that’s going to be absolutely insane. What if Koichi’s reason for sticking around at first is “hhhhhh I can’t leave this 15 year old by himself, I remember what being 15 as a Stand User was like-”, plus he was a tad worried about Giorno’s living situation because of how..... alone and impersonal his room was, so his plan was to stick close to Naples and periodically check in. But what if Mr.Pericolo and Trish were in Naples at least for a little bit, and well..... seeing a very uncomfortable 15 year old girl with a man who’s clearly Mafia isn’t going to look very good, especially without the context of the situation

So what if in the middle of Polpo’s test, Giorno offers to help, yoinks her, and brings her back to his dorm at which Koichi shows up and it’s revealed that Trish is the Boss’s daughter..... but before Gio can think about how he could possibly use this.... what if Koichi ends up bringing up the possibility of her father having less than innocent intentions. 

After all, Koichi is very familiar with people like Diavlo who will do anything and everything to keep their secrets. How they will murder, tear apart families, even kill children to stay hidden. How loose threads are cut and burned before they can pose any threat without hesitation, and that a mysterious daughter he hadn’t known about is one huge thread. He brings up the inconsistencies in this story, that if her father wanted to meet her so badly, why hadn’t he sent so much as a note or reassurance of her safety? Why has he just been dragging her all around Italy without even asking her about……. anything???

He doesn’t want to scare them but..... he also doesn’t want anyone getting "dealt with” like he nearly was. And besides, even if the man’s intentions weren’t murder, this was still really shitty behavior, especially since Trish has exactly ZERO desire to meet her father

So he asks Trish. That if she could make any choice right now, regardless of the consequences or danger, what would she want to do?

And this catches her off guard. These past few weeks Trish had gotten used to being treated as something important, but mostly inatimate. She was dragged from one place to another without so much as a glance in her direction, with people walking on eggshells around her, treating her as though she were the most fragile of glass but also the most dangerous of weapons that could end them in an instant

So she’s honest. She tells him she doesn’t want to meet her father, that she doesn’t want anything to do with this. Not with her father, not with Passione, none of it

So Koichi agrees without hesitation. He calls Jotaro and updates him on the development and plans with the kids on what to do next

And for a second Giorno’s a tad..... stuck. Without knowing it, he’d accidentally made things so much easier and infinitely more complicated. There’s no going back from this, he’d already taken Trish and even if he did try returning her, that was just asking to get killed. This was in no way, shape or form his plan, but he more or less has to go with it lest he accept defeat

of course, the second the three of them cross paths with the Bucci Gang, Bucciarati nearly blows both their covered because Giorno what the fuck- 

And wow, Koichi’s really out here collecting kiddos like Pokemon cards isn’t he

(also unrelated from the rest of this but I think that while they’re on the run, Koichi should be allowed to be terrifying with Echoes. As a treat. After all we’ve seen just how much damage all the Acts can cause, and Act 1 especially can really fuck with someone’s mental state)

Dragon-au// plotbunny

Inspired by Dean Leipek's The Dragon Must Die trilogy (but not much in common, just some highlights)

Fantasy-AU , a mix of reality and magical realism

Ancient Dragons live high in the mountains - immortal, intelligent creatures with the gift of foresight. Their worldview is closer to the philosophical contemplation of life; they do not interfere in human conflicts. They are only partially immortal - when the life of the dragon’s body comes to an end, the dragon finds a person and transfers its essence into him. After some time - from several years to decades, the dragon's essence suppresses the human one, and the person becomes a dragon and flies to the mountains to join his brothers. A long time ago, even before meeting Alma , little Pedro was possessed by a dragon, and the boy forgot about it. But when the triplets were born and the city was attacked, the dragon inside Pedro was unleashed. He protected Alma and his (Pedro) children, but the dragon could not and did not want to stay with the people, and returned to the mountains. As a result of the union of a man and a half-dragon , all these gifts appeared; the candle is important - it is a piece of the dragon’s fire that burned in Pedro’s chest. Bruno canonically receives the gift of “Seeing the Future”, goes to the dragons - in age somewhere around the birth of Isabela and Dolores, because in Encanto they are wary of him, because seeing the future is a dragon ability, and in the past for the inhabitants in general turmoil it seemed as if a dragon had simply fallen from the sky and attacked them, killing Pedro.

So, Bruno hangs out in the dragon community, he is treated like a bush or a stone - he is not considered an equal, but he is not persecuted either, reasoning that since he sees the future like we do, he has the right to be here, and in general, everything in life is decay and entropy. And then suddenly Agustin comes to the dragon mountain and tells Bruno that the family urgently needs his help.

On the day when Antonio turned 5 years old, Mirabel ran away from home in the evening, upset, and got lost in the forest, where she came across a dying dragon - and he transferred his essence into her. The family does not want Mirabel  to turn into a dragon and leave them, and they hope that Bruno will help Mirabel curb her dragon essence and remain human (such cases are very rare, but not impossible, if the will of a person is not weaker than the will of a dragon).

Bruno agrees to help. He teaches her meditation and self-control, but the trouble is that Mirabel does not want to remain ordinary, she wants to become a dragon and fly away from this family, where she is treated with slight disdain due to the lack of a gift. Bruno, after listening to her explanations, returns with her to the dragon mountain and finds the dragon that Pedro has become. He agrees to help his conditional granddaughter and conditional son, and teaches her to be a dragon, while Bruno reminds her how to remain human - to be able to fly in the skies on dragon wings and retain human feelings and emotions, because... in dragons, these very feelings and emotions actually atrophy, they are replaced by cold logic.

Meanwhile, rumors are circulating in Encanto. Since Alma is trying to keep everything in the family and prevent the spread of information that Mirabel can become a dragon, the residents decide that dragons have gone crazy and are kidnapping innocent maidens right from their home, someone remembers that Bruno had  “dragon essence” -   the ability to see the future, and makes the amazing conclusion that Bruno became a dragon and kidnapped Mirabel and ate her, which means that all the girls in Encanto are under threat, and even everything in general: after all, any years ago, a dragon attacked the city and burned everything (we remember that for the residents in the turmoil, the appearance of the dragon-Pedro superimposed on the appearance of the invaders, they did not notice they in the dragon’s flame). And someone comes up with the delightful idea of climbing the dragon mountain and defeating the filthy monsters. And so a detachment of not very smart, but terribly brave people rises... and sees two dragons, and Bruno with them. With a cry: “Beat your own, so that strangers will be afraid,” they go on the attack, and at this moment, Mirabel, like a tremulous girl, although with armored scales and a flame in her mouth, loses her nerves, she incinerates them... and in horror flies away from itself. The only thing she dreams of now is to finally become a dragon, not to feel guilt, pain, fear and self-loathing. But she cannot, because these are all human feelings, they are too strong and completely suppress dragon logic and indifference. And she's also, of course, in love with Bruno, because she killed people in the first place to protect him.

Bruno and Pedro are both looking for her, Pedro admits that although he has become a dragon, the memory of the man is still alive in him. They have difficulty finding Mirabel, who has climbed into a completely impassable thicket and lives there in the guise of a person in a hut in the forest, away from people. She sees Bruno and locks herself in the house because she is afraid of accidentally burning him down, because she does not trust herself. Of course, they return her, fly to Encanto - and Pedro, and Mirabel, and Bruno (riding a dragon). Pedro turns into a man, and Alma , seeing her living husband, almost faints with happiness. The love for his wife was stronger than the dragon's essence, and Pedro chooses to live with his family, "until the last of my kind fades away," as he says. Well, Mirabel marries Bruno, yes. Because who dares to object to the dragoness ?

Really old Housebroken stuff 😨

OK this is for the like one person that wanted to see it <\\33 This is. Very old. Like literally the very first thing I wrote, the Beta version. I.

I hate it 💀

I'm taking a break from writing for a couple stories and. This is the only content I currently have that wouldn’t spoil anything.

The idea??? Originally, was that the kids left, and then around a year later they would've been cursed, because by that point Alma would’ve given up on looking for them (and had given up looking for Bruno, as he left shortly after the search parties stop).

This was also when the triplets would've been affected after the kids had came back, but left again because Alma scared them away, for various reasons, though the main one was that she tried to immediately get then to help in town again. This ALSO resulted in Casita's destruction.

Anyways don't look too hard y'all this writing is from like March or April (丿°ˇ°")) Also it randomly cuts off and jumps to amother part because. I had bullets in between but I don't think they're really that important.

Isabela held Mirabel in her hold, cradling her. Mirabel cried into her hermanas dress, clenching the fabric with her small chubby hands, glasses crooked. Dolores rubbed her back before looking up at Isabela. Neither of the girls had seen her at all that week; Abuela had really piled on their chores and it seemed like Mirabel was never around.

“Mirabel? What’s the matter? What happened?” Isabela asked, petting Mirabel’s soft curls.

“A-Abuela was being mean again! She told me to stay away and that I was useless!” Mirabel looked up at Isabela. “I just wanted to help! I-I only wanted to help you garden!” Mirabel buried her face into Isabela’s dress again. Isabela’s own eyes teared up. Before her 5th birthday, Mirabel loved to help her garden, even if she didn’t have to help.

Dolores spoke up this time. “How come you didn’t tell Tia Julieta or Tio Agustin? Or my mama and papa?”

Mirabel slows her sobs down to sniffles, and turns her head towards Dolores. “I tried—but they wouldn’t help. I don’t think they love me anymore.” Isabela and Dolores froze at that.

No 5 year old should think those thoughts.

-Isabela and Dolores sat on the bed, facing the 3 younger sitting in front of them. Mirabel and Camilo were tightly holding hands, refusing to let go while Luisa held both in a bear hug.

“So Dolores and I have been thinking really hard on this. And we want you to know that you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” Isabela started. The other 3 nodded in understanding, and patiently waited for whatever it was they were called for.

Dolores took in a deep breath and looked at the 3 children in front of her. “Do you want to run away with us?” she said simply. At first the 3 children didn’t respond. But once the words registered, Luisa was the first to speak up.

“Runaway? Like…leave Casita?” she said a little cautiously.

“Well…yes. It’s just that Abuela has been the worst, and it’s affecting you guys. It doesn’t look like it’s ever gonna change, and we think that if we run away, we’ll be happy again.” Isabela looked into her hands, where a small daffodil sprouted. “We only want you to be happy, and staying here isn’t gonna make that happen.”

Dolores patted Isabela’s back before turning back to them. “It’s just that a lot has made us all sad. Isabela can’t have fun with her plants anymore. Abuela keeps asking me to listen in on things I don’t like. Luisa is always super tired and stressed. Camilo can’t play with any of us and Mirabel is being treated really badly. But if we left, we could be a family again and be happy!”

“A family? We can play again and be a family?” Luisa said, a hopeful look in her eyes.

“Yes! Me and Dolores have actually planned it out. I created a treehouse of vines and wood deep in the forest that we can live in, and I can also make fruits and Dolores can fish! We can bring extra clothes and blankets with us and make our own little Casita!” Isabela explained.

The younger three looked at each other then back to the older girls. It did sound like a good idea…maybe they could be happy again!

Dolores held the envelope tightly, before kissing it one last time. She set it at the head of the dining room table where Alma sat. With that, she left the room, back to where the other 4 were waiting.

Isabela did a head count and all of them were there. Everyone had their things, and they had their supplies. She triple checked to make sure everyone had their clothes. Each of them had a small bag full of clothes, and each bag had a thick blanket on top.

Isabela had another bag, full of food that would last them weeks and water jugs that would last them at least a year, until they could find a clean source of water in the woods. Dolores had an extra bag full of several sheets and some small pillows. She insisted on bringing more so they could sleep comfortably. Luisa was carrying 2 large jugs of water, in addition to the water Isabela would bring. Camilo was carrying his and Luisa’s bag of clothes, while Mirabel carried an extra blanket under her arm.

Isabela and Dolores adjusted the children’s clothes, snuggling them tightly so the cold autumn air wouldn’t cause them to shiver. Taking in a deep breath, she ushered them out of the front door, where a donkey was attached to a large cart. Both of the older girls were quick to pack their things into the carriage. Once everything was settled, they all turned back to Casita, who frankly, looked sadder than usual.

“We’ll miss you Casita,” Mirabel said, pulling her scarf up. Each of the children patted the door frame before loading themselves onto the carrt. Luisa, Camilo and Mirabel sat on the back of the cart, while Dolores sat at the front. Isabela closed Casita’s front door gently, hugging the house's pillar one more time.

“I’m sorry…but this is for the best. You understand, right?” Isabela asked quietly, looking up at the window shutters. They flapped sadly in understanding, causing the girl to sigh. She teared up, sniffling as she pulled away. “Adiós Casita.” Isabela whispered, briskly walking back to the cart. She moved to sit next to Dolores, taking the reins of the donkey. With one last wave, they were off to their new home in the forest.

That night, two 13 year olds, a 10 year old and two 5 year olds left the Madrigal house.

14. Do you even like school? I loathed high school. I liked most of my uni years, more because of friends, less because of learning.

15. What are your favorite subjects? Literature, art, music, language, english, french, biology, art history.

16. What are your favourite tv shows? Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are amazing shows. As for anime, my fave are Yu Yu Hakusho, HunterxHunter 2011, Akatsuki no Yona, Re:Zero, Digimon tamers/02 and those are all I can remember right now.

17. What are your favourite movies? I adore Pride and Prejudice (basic I know), but in general I tend to adore horror movies more like Midsommar, Hereditary and zombie movies in general.

18. What are your favorite books? Dracula, uh... polemyc I know but I will always say HP series and ...I can't remember any other one rn tbh.

19. What is your favourite pass time? Playing videogames but also organizing stuff and fixing stuff around the house

22. Would you like to get married one day and where? I did get married, I think the places were nice. It was a beautiful church with a gothic design and the reception was in a house on the country side. The house had a vintage colonial style and it was pretty elegant, the garden with the pool looked nice and the decor me and husband chose was top notch.

23. Would you like to have kids one day and how many? I don't earn enough money to have kids but if I got money I would have 2 kids.

24. Are you a girly girl, a regular girl, or more of a tomboy? I was a regular one most of my life? Kinda like comfy type and no make-up. Now I'm girly, I want all the pink and all the make up!

27. What is the most scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Some guys entered my family home and killed everyone. I even remember feeling the bullet in my stomach and the blood coming out of me before I woke up.

Disney Review Request Princess and the Frog

Requested by @themousefromfantasyland who wanted me to discuss Princess and the FRog ,the PRincess film that isnt really talked about and why it is a bit under the radar ....And yeah I wanna talk about that too .See I remember the HYPE for this film :It was Disney going back to their roots ,a princess fairy tale musical in beautiful 2D animation by Ron Clements and John Musker AKA the best directors Disney has ever had ,this was it ,this was going to bring back Disney for a modern age.....And it did fine ,not the game changer Disney was hoping for and as a result instead of bring back Disney 2D after a long hiatus,it was more of a swan song befor one last gasp in the form of Winnie the Pooh .I also saw the film in the theaters right when Disney had kind of become an obsession and for a few years it was the fave movie of my lil sibling.....Till Frozen came out .Also spoilers ahead

The plot of this 2009 film concerns a waitress named Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) who dreams of opening her own restraunt ,and meets Naveen(Bruno Campos) a selfish Prince who has been turned into a frog in a scheme by the evil Dr Facilier (Kieth David ) ,and going by the Frog Prince fairy tale ,Naveen convinces Tiana to kiss him in exchange for enough money to pay for her restraunt .....Only for her to turn into a frog as well ,and the two set off on an adventure to find a way to make them human

This is a film I wish I loved ,cause there is a lot to love .The animation is beautiful ,and everytime I watch it I get a little sad cause 2D has been completly taken over by CG ,at least in America .I like the side characters .Louis the Trumpet playing gator while not having a lot to do is brilliantly animated by Eric Goldberg and played masterfully by Michael Leon Wooley (THough I will confess ,since I found out he played Audrey II in the Broadway version of Little Shop of Horrors ,I keep expecting him to go "Feeeeeddd Meeeee" ).I ADORE Mama Odie ,a 197 year old blind voodoo priestess .She is kind of a deceptively goofy yet wise character which is an archetype I love and Jennifer Lewis gives it her all ,I had no idea the actress was only in her 50's she convinced me she was much older . I think my favorite character might be Tianas friend Charlotte ,a rich girl obsessed with marrying a prince ,she is just so energetic and funny and I love that she genuinely cares about Tiana .Ray the firefly is a character I thought I wouldnt like when the film was being advertised and I confess I dont like his design .....But he is actually the heart of the film ,Jim Cummings givers a great performance ,I love his sub plot about being in love with a star ,Evangeline ,and I remember how shocking it was that Ray DIES .At the end of the film Dr Facilier KILLS him ,and I remeber the audience gasped in the theater .Now I have seen people who either think Rays death is emotionally powerful or straight up silly ,for me....Im a big ball of emotion ,so when that second star eppears next to the wishing star meaning Ray is finally with Evangeline ......I tear up

I really love Naveen as a character ,a disinherited playboy who loves jazz and his arc and romance with Tiana is good.I also just adore the setting ,I think 1920's New Orleans is the perfect place for a 20th century fairy tale (Wish they used it better but I will get into that ).I also love the use of jazz music and speaking about the music lets talk about the songs by Randy Newman .Now I am not a big Newman fan but I think the songs are really good though some are just OK and I am gonna talk about them from my least favorite to my most favorite

8.Never Knew I needed-the obligatory end credits pop song that is good ,but I dont love it ,I kind of forgot this one existed

7.When We're Human-Sung by Tiana,Naveen and Louis Its cute but kind of meh for me

6.Gonna Take You There-Sung by Ray and his Firefly family ,its just OK

5.Down in New Orleans(All versions)-I actually really like this song ,its a good opener and closer

4.Almost There:Tianas song that is really damn good, Anika Noni Rose does a fantastic job ,I think it is also my third favorite song animation wise ....I just like three other songs better

3.Ma Belle Evangeline -One of the most underrated love songs in Disney ,I think the sequence is beautiful(One of my favorite scenes in the film honestly ) and Jim Cumming really shows off his singing skills

2.Dig A Little Deeper :Mama Odies song and its just got a good message while also be8ing a ton of fun and Jennifer Lewis just sells it .I got a weakness for Gospel style numbers

1.Friends on the Other Side-OK I have opinions that are unpopular about Doctor Facilier but I will give him this ,he has one of the BEST Villain songs in Disney .Kieth David really shows off his amazing singing skills here,the animation is perfect ,I like how it builds up to being completely insane ,its fun ,its creepy ,its just a great villain song.....With a perfect reprise ,but I'll talk about that later

I'll talk about Tiana later ,so lets go into what I think is the flaws/things I am kind of meh about/thing that almost work but dont but-...*Sigh* lets just get into it

In the meh category ....The use of celeb voices here are weird.Like usually you get a big star to play the main character or the sidekick or the villain.....But aside from getting the great character actor Kieth David to play the villain,which I get but the other three BIG STARs play supporting characters.Now I kind of get Terrance Howard and Oparah Winfrey for the parents but...I'm just gonna say it ,why is JOHN GOODMAN IN THIS FILM ??I love John Goodman ,dont get me wrong ,and yeah he is a plot point, (FAcilier wants to kill him and gain his wealth ) but he doesnt do much so I am always distracted when I hear Goodmans voice

Annnnnnddd lets get to the part that I think might get me some flack....Lets talk about my issues,AND what I like about Dr Facilier .I KNOW this guy is super beloved he is the part of the movie people REALLY like....And I'm sorry I got problems with him .I'll start with what I like :His design is great ,evoking classic DIsney villains like Captain Hook ,his villain song like I said is marvelous ,I like his evil plan to take over New Orleans and feed all the inhabitants souls to his Friends on the Other Side ,he's got menace to him,I love the fact his shadow is alive .he is played by one of my favorite actors Kieth David who delivers a phenominal vocal performance and I like that beneath his cool facade he is actually a desperate and terrified dude when it comes to his otherworldly buddies ......But while he is made of cool parts ,they emphisize his greed ,his motive is he wants money and power ......Thats boring and it doesnt really vibe with "Im going to let spirits devour New Orleans " .The other is he is more plot villain and not a good foil to the heroes . He has no connection with Tiana really ,they only have one scene together and she apparently knows who he is but thats never explained .I say to make him a better villain

1.Emphisize his back story that he was someone who used magic to fufill his desires the easy way ,and his desperation to pay off his debt is his motive

2.Have him pursue the heroes ,and tempt the heroes.

I wll say he is a fun character ,I just wish he was great .....Oh his death scene is AMAZING and TERRIFYING though, dragged to the spirit world by his own shadow as his own villain song is sung by monstrus spirits ,that was such a jaw dropping scene in the theater ,possibly my favorite Disney villain death

As for things in the I dont like section.....The film begins strong,and ends strong too.....But that middle section in the bayou is just kind of dull.Up to Ma Belle Evangiline that whole part of the film just drags ,including these three minor bad guys that dont add anything ,theres some terrible jokes ,and two of the songs dont do it for me .Humor in general is hit and miss .Oh I almost forgot ,Lawrence is one of the most forgettable villain sidekicks in Disney,I kind of forget he is in the movie

1 - What do you think about Tiana as a character?

I like Tiana ,I think she is a good protagonist ,Anika Noni Rose soes a good performance ,I find her likeable and I like her romance with Naveen.

2 - Do you think this movie would be better if Tiana didn't turn into a frog, or if the frogs journeyed through New Orleans more inteastad of the bayou?

Yeah I wouldve preferred mor human Tiana,and while I like swampy settings ,I wanted more in New Orleans .

3 - Is this movie good, bad, or just watchable?

Its... on the good end of Watchable .I dont return to it a bunch it has flaws ...But its got its good stuff in it .I dunno I always go in wanting it to be better then it is

Overall it almost works but it feels undercooked ,but I still reccomend it .If best is A+ this is about a B
