The Look Of Death
A Bronchocela cristatella or green crested lizard looking not-so-green sharing a tank with an oriental whip snake in the former Snake House. Photo credit: Jonathan Chua.
This cristatella was meant to be lunch for the snake and had already been in the tank without food for more than a day. It really looked emaciated if you asked me.
The shutter speed set by the camera was a mere 1.3 seconds. This was taken with the lens braced against the glass tank to keep the image sharp. Placing the lens against the glass was also to avoid reflection.

Saw this beautiful lizard in a lowland rainforest near Padang West Sumatra; not sure if it is a green crested lizard (Bronchocela cristatella) because it does not have a dark ring around each eye.

Incredible Aliens - Lizards 🦎👽
All reptiles, birds and mammals including humans, descended from a single reptilian ancestor approximately 320 million years ago. Reptiles are our early ancestors.
Humans have this deep 320 million years old heritage. Even the most revered and feared reptilian alien on Earth, the snakes have evolved from lizards.
1. Indian chameleon (Chamaeleo zeylanicus)
2. Earless Agamid (Aphaniotis fusca)
3. Marbled Bent-toed Gecko (Cyrtodactylus quadrivirgatus)
4. Green Crested Lizard (Bronchocela cristatella)
5. Changeable Lizard (Calotes versicolor)

Green Crested Lizard (Bronchocela cristatella), first time seeing one that day and again the next day:) Is a native species though largely displaced by the more aggressive Changable Lizard (Calotes versicolor) an invasive species.

Hi There!
A Green-crested Lizard coming down the tree to greet us in the local botanic gardens.Photo credit: Jonathan Chua.
Bokeh from the Tamron 16-300mm lens was a little distracting here so the upper part of the background was ‘burned’ and darkened to make that less intrusive.
