Due to a series of unfortunate events (a cancellation of all direct flights for 2 days), im going to be spending between 90 minutes and three hours in IRELAND of all places. The REPUBLIC of Ireland. I was not expecting this on my american adventure.
I wont get to do any irish things but im flying both flights with Aer Lingus instead of British Airways.
Here is my review of Aer Lingus which is by extension my review of Ireland:
- Holy SHIT this airbus is half the size of the boeing i was going to take. I expected it to have insane turbulence like the KLM washing machines but honestly it's no different to the boeing
- it is nice to hear announcements made in a celtic language first again, even if it's Gaelic and not Cymraeg. I look forward to seeing the "Casnewydd/Newport" sign when i finally take the train home, it's the first symbol of being in Wales.
- We left early. EARLY. On one hand this is leagues above all my BA flights that have never left on time. On the other hand if it left just 60 seconds late, id have recieved a free change of transfer plane. Now i gotta hope we get there "early" enough for me to get through customs and find my next flight. Better prepare to run but theres not much i can do about this. I just hope British Airways dont force me to pay for a rebooked flight because they decided 60 minutes international transfer time was enough (hah!) and i dont have superhuman speed.
- Im sat by an emergency exit. This has funny side effects. I get sliiiightly more leg room, but also im sat by the exit and the door is way, way colder than any other wall in the plane. It's not bothersome but it's funny how i have a free Cooling Wall.
- Internet is about same price as BA and i can use discord (good) but i cant use youtube (very bad, you should probably only go for for the im service)
- The dinner was about the same quality as the British airways food, but they had TWO meat options instead of one. I took the Beef Stew. Very yummy. They had cheese and tomato on the side instead of the cursed tomato couscous yoghurt that looks like strawberry muesli which british airways keep serving (prison food). I also really liked the chocolate mousse, slightly easier to eat than the chocolate brownie i get with BA, but i find it weird aer lingus serve most of their drinks in tiny cartons. Why??? At least i get a tiny water bottle with BA, like a souvenir. Also theres a tinier bread roll and no cheese with it, but the cheese felt out of place anyway. Not as out of place as the tiny creamer pot i get on both airlines, with no coffee in sight. It's like a shot.
- you dont get any free alcohol on this flight, you have to pay for your 1 can can of lager. With a credit card. Mine was in the overhead locker. Thankfully a guy on my aisle was feeling generous and bought my can. Downgrade from BA including 2 alcoholic drinks in the flights
- instead of a nice pasty or bacon egg roll for breakfast they gave me a tiny carton of orange juice and a Nature Valley granola bar. Horrible
- the in flight entertainment is on a screen from 2009 instead of 1999. There is no funny controller that stops working randomly. It is a normal ass touch screen. Unfortunately i lost my provided earbuds at the start of the flight so i havent done anything with it
- no reclining chair on this airbus :( it's an overnight flight. My chair is missing an arm but i assume thats because it is by the emergency exit
- BA do this thing where they dim the lights and turn them back on an hour before arrival. Aer Lingus have decided to "dim" the lights by having these purple lights on, instead of turning them off.
More to come when i arrive at the airport

The plan originally:
Train to the city, arrive six hours before flight departs
Sit in airport for however many hours before flight, finish grading
Fly to London
Hurry through customs and take train to university
Drop luggage off at guesthouse
See manuscript after lunch hours
What actually happened:
Train stops halfway
“There was a freight train derailment ahead of us and we are experiencing significant delays while they clean up hazardous materials”
Think, “no problem! I have a lot of time”
Receive a text that my flight has been canceled because the plane has service issues
Only other flight that will get me into the UK the day I am trying to arrive is three hours earlier than the original flight
Rally some other passengers who need to make connections and squeeze into an Uber
Try to rebook with the earlier flight, but the flight is no longer available
Wait until I’m off the Uber and quickly head to the subway toward the airport
Call British Airways and learn that I have been assigned a flight for the next day that will arrive a day later than I had intended
Last-minute contact friend in the city to stay with her
Get into an email spat with the guesthouse host bc he thinks that I want a refund on the night I’m missing which is not! What! I! Wrote! Ffs
Anyway hopefully my flight actually works out this time. I still need to contact the librarians about missing my appointment

24.09.2024
Remember when I complained yesterday about my "uber adventurous and packed day". 💀 Such a sweet sweet summer child I was...
07:00 am – Wake up, bleary-eyed, and drag ourselves to the airport. Completely unaware that we won a ticket for an obstacle course disguised as air travel.
12:30 pm – We finally take off from Berlin, fashionably late by an hour. No big deal—just leaves us with a razor-thin 40 minutes to catch our connection in Madrid for Dallas. Who doesn’t love a little adrenaline with their layover?
15:30 pm – Land in Madrid and immediately get an email: Good news: we’re rebooked! Bad news: it’s to New York at 16:20. Because why go straight to your destination when you can collect cities like trading cards?
15:40 pm – Andrzej calls Iberia, and they inform him that, surprise, the New York flight is also cancelled. Meanwhile, the monitor insists it’s boarding. Who do we trust? The airline or reality?
16:00 pm – We run to the gate for New York like two racehorses. The gate agent tells us we can board… but our luggage isn’t coming with us. So we’d have to file a claim in New York to get it to Dallas. Hard pass. She sends us to customer service to get rebooked instead. Because clearly, that’s where all problems are solved.
16:10 pm – Join the purgatory that is Iberia’s customer service line. Forty people ahead of us, two agents “helping” with the kind of enthusiasm you’d expect from people about to perform a root canal on themselves. Meanwhile, Andrzej is calling Iberia and then British Airways, trying to find a way to Dallas.
17:30 pm – Victory (ish): Andrzej books us on a new flight… to Chicago… in two days. I suggest we keep waiting in line, just in case customer service has something earlier up their sleeve. Maybe they'll take pity on us?
18:00 pm – Eighteen people still ahead of us. Food and water? Nonexistent. Assistance? Please. No one gives a tossing fig about us.
18:10 pm – Just as I start wondering if I’ll grow old and die in this line, the agents announce their shift is over and walk out. Mayhem. Everyone starts screaming. We’re directed to another desk—because why stop at one disaster when you can have two? It’s a 30-minute hike across the airport, because of course it is.
19:00 pm – Desk #2. We split up: Andrzej tries to file a luggage claim, while I get in yet another line. I sweat these are actually East European post offices disguised as customer service desks.
20:00 pm – After what feels like eternity, the desk agent tells me to go to bus stop #7 for the hotel shuttle. Which hotel? Who knows. Apparently, that’s classified information. I try to ask, and she snaps at me to “just go to the bus stop.” Customer service is dead, and she’s the one who killed it.
20:20 pm – Standing outside at bus stop #7, surrounded by luggage, rushing vehicles and men who look like they will say at any time: "Hey, gorgeous". A bus finally pulls up, but the driver looks at us like we’ve asked for a free ride to the moon and refuses to take us. So Andrzej heads back inside, leaving me to babysit 123 kilos of baggage, increasingly convinced I’m living in some twisted social experiment. Maybe I died on the flight to Madrid and this is purgatory? Straight to hell old girl?
21:20 pm – An hour later, Andrzej returns, saying the bus stop is somewhere else and that “Jorge” is waiting for us. Whoever Jorge is, he’s our only hope.
22:30 pm – We’ve now been waiting an hour, and shocker: Jorge hasn’t shown. Our fellow passengers are skedadling one by one, calling Ubers, tired of the lie that Jorge is coming to rescue us. What if I made Jorge up?! Maybe I'm so hungry that I'm imagining Jorges is shining armour coming up in a shuttle bus??
23:45 pm – We join the others, booking a hotel ourselves because dignity is for people who didn’t trust this airline. I call an Uber van big enough for our suitcase bonanza.
00:30 am – Arrive at the hotel, a hollow shell of my former self, wondering if life was ever anything other than an endless airport queue. Energy depleted.
00:45 am – Tapas. Flavor profile: Optimal. Resource expenditure: Excessive. Emotional satisfaction: Temporary. Take a selfie because surely they don't allow you selfies in hell?

airsLLide No. 5314: YR-BRA, RomBac 1-11-561RC, Tarom, Zürich, October 24, 1990.
Romania always tried to balance a 'block-free' political position, although it is undisputable that it leaned more to the East than to the West. Still, as a result of trying to find arrangment with both geopolitical blocks of the Cold War era, Romania maintained a local aviation industry that even had access to Western technology. The highlight of its attempts to stay independent and inbetween 'Boeing or Tupolev' was the granting of an agreement with British Aerospace, allowing Romania's IAR Industria Aeronautică Română to built the British BAC 1-11-500 under license. The agreement was signed in 1979, one year before production of the 1-11 would end in the UK. The license-built planes were to be called the RomBac 1-11-560 series.
The initial plan called for three complete aircraft sets to be shipped to Romania for final assembly before IAR would start building 22 additional airframes on its own, to be delivered to customers in Romania. Later, up to 60 airframes more would be built and sold to customers in East Bloc countries, allowing Romania to tap into the backyards of Ilyushin, Tupolev and Yakovlev.
Progress was not as swift as planned, with only one to two aircraft being assembled per year. Furthermore, the first cracks started to appear in the iron curtain at the end of the 1980s, by when IAR had assembled just nine RomBac's for the Romanian flag carrier Tarom. With the Romanian regime also starting to crumble in autumn 1989, the program grinded to a halt at this point.
YR-BRA above, manufacturer's construction number 401, was the first RomBac to be completed, built from one of the three kits delivered from the UK. She first flew in fall 1982 and entered service with Tarom by year's end. As intended, she did occasionally serve other carriers in Eastern Europe, albeit on leases only: In 1987, she was leased to Adria Airways for the European summer season, and from spring 1989 until fall 1990, she flew for JAT Yugoslav Airlines. In the picture above, she has just recently returned from the latter lease, still wearing a hybrid livery with JAT cheatline and Tarom tail.

some fukin ghosts uhh design notes
The Ghost of Christmas Past: The past can be a double edged sword, full of grief and with joy. Past is here to help you through these difficult moments, even if it pains you at the time.
Past takes the form of a tall, lanky, and friendly psychologist. Colored all in shades of gold, Past's 'eyes' are represented by a pair of oversized eyeglasses that shift and blink as eyes would. They can also be illuminated to provide further light. Flashlight eyes are fun, okay.
Past has a boisterous Germanic accent, and is meant to invoke a friendly Sigmund Freud-like figure who will never the less not hesitate to show a painful memory in the name of healing. They attempt to engage with Scrooge through therapeutic questions ("And how did that make you feel?") with varied success.
The Ghost of Christmas Present: So much of Christmas these days involves travel. Going somewhere, coming from somewhere, the in-between of there and here. It’s lucky for you that while you move from your past to your future, you’ll have the best of flight attendants at your side.
The Ghost of Christmas Present takes the form of an immaculately dressed fllght attendant, with design motifs taken from British Airways uniforms. Throughout her trip with Scrooge she becomes visibly a little more harried, but she takes great pains to keep herself looking as put together as possible.* Becomes progressively more passive agressive with Scrooge over the evening but always with a smile.
Her prime focus is on making Christmas as positive as possible for everyone. She takes great interest in caring for those between places, such as travellers.
*Up until the Ignorance and Want scene, where she drops her customer service voice to hammer home the point. IE she takes off her hat and shoes, and becomes visibly tired and worn out as she stops playing nice with Scrooge.
The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come: Too many people fear this ghost the most. The future is unknowable, and scary. So many who happen to glimpse the Ghost of Christmas Yet to come are startled by their appearance.
The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come takes the form of a silent teenager, androgynous in gender (any pronouns but people tend to default to they/them). They wear a dark hoodie, workman's boots, and simple jeans. The guise they take is that of a gravedigger, working away on their latest hole whenever spotted. They enjoy cemeteries, the future destination of all mankind.
Despite their gloomy job, they are not malicious. Future tends to the graves to keep the past and present alive, and seems to feel deeply about caring for the dead. Future's message is that death is simply another phase of life, and that what is done between then and now truly matters. While they will not hesitate to scare you straight, they also take pleasure in the future joys a life can bring if they chose to live well.
They seem to enjoy Christmas pastries.

watch the travel vloggers on youtube, British Airways customer service is terrible. I had the worst experience trying to cancel my holiday when COVID hit and took me almost 8 months to get a refund. She isn't being dramatic at all. I once flew with them and the staff didn't check-in enough cabin bags into the hold on a full flight, there wasn't enough room in the overhead lockers so they de-planed everyone to check more bags and delayed the flight by 1.5 hours. / from what she post it looks like she travel with them more often, when she was going to london for her new movie she took a pic in british airline first class cabin and was happy with the fly enought to not post angry ig story, and i think she fly with them most of the time, its the first time she is this mad. And i kinda get what anon said because if she fly with them before and was happy enought to take pic and by fine and now she is mad it looks like she had one bad fly with then and lost it, i dont say you lying or that they are amaizing airline but as sound a little bit over dramatic, to say that you never will fly again with them is too much in my eyes, true they not the best but she fly with them before and have no problems. It look like the minute she have a problem she get mad and post about it.

How Economists Detect and Measure Collusion in Oligopolistic Markets
Introduction: What is Collusive Oligopoly?
A collusive oligopoly implies a market in which several firms of significant power cooperate to fix prices, output, and market share without competing. This cooperation may take the form of cartels or agreements that are not legally binding, with the ultimate aim of maximizing joint profits. By limiting competition, firms can easily set higher prices, limit their production, and act like monopolists.
Collusion in an oligopolistic market is beneficial because firms realize the benefits of symbiotic relationships as opposed to competition. For example, in a non-collusive market structure, the firm competes intensely to capture market share by significantly reducing price. Such behavior can be inimical to the interest of all companies because it eventually minimizes profitability. However, by agreeing tacitly, the oligopolists can fix prices, avert destructive competition, and provide certainty in the market. One example of this type of cartel includes OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) where member countries work in harmony to provide policy directives for production to control oil prices.
The primary purpose for why such situations exist is due to the strong interdependence of firms in an oligopoly. Pricing and output decisions taken by each of the firms affect the overall market condition. While in perfect competition each firm makes its decisions independently, the oligopolistic firms are highly strategic. Due to the risk of competitive retaliation, the group is likely to shift towards collusion for mutual interests. Although collusive behavior generates greater profits, it also has major economic as well as legal implications. Most governments have banned collusion as it is anti-competitive and detrimental to consumers in terms of limiting competition, innovation, and inflating prices.
Microeconomics students understand the fact that there is a lot of learning involved behind the fundamental notions of an oligopoly and collusion. Exam questions and assignments based on oligopoly are generally tricky. Availing microeconomics assignment help can get a fresh and broader view and enhance the perspective of students because it brings different innovative insights in comprehending these markets, specifically in the analysis of real-world case studies.
How Economists can identify and quantify collusive behavior in the Oligopolistic Markets
It may not be easy to identify collusion among firms particularly in an oligopolistic market since such firms will undertake elaborate measures towards concealing their collaborative conduct. Let us explore how collusion can be detected and measured by economists both theoretically and empirically.
1. Price Analysis
Pricing patterns is the first factor of attention for economists in the process of studying the market. In a competitive market, prices readily change with supply and demand. However, in a collusive market customers may experience that products and service prices do not change frequently or do not rise independently of other firms in the same market. Synchronized price increases, or price rigidity, can show evidence of collusion.
For instance, when economists undertook a survey on major airlines, they found out that most of the airlines had adopted a pattern of hiking fuel surcharges in unison without any justification for change in fuel prices.
This behavior led to the commencement of a large-scale investigation into British Airways and Virgin Atlantic and the companies were subsequently fined.
Another useful approach is to analyze the dispersion of prices across the firms in the industry. In competitive markets the degree of price dispersion is significantly greater than in other markets due to varying cost structures and strategies. However, in collusive markets, firms tend to set equivalent prices as they do not wish to be outcompeted by fellow firms.
2. Market Share Stability
Another element that interests economists is the market position of firms where the market share of each firm is closely monitored. In a highly competitive market, market shares are constantly changing due to developmental efforts carried out by firms such as innovation, efficiency enhancement, or the adoption of low-price strategies. But in a collusive oligopoly, market share may not change in significant terms as firms mutually collaborate to minimize competition.
For instance, a cartel of manufacturers of trucks in Europe, the major players in the industry collaborated to maintain a stable market share and conspired to raise prices for more than a decade.
Such behavior triggered one of the biggest antitrust fines ever in the EU history.
3. Production capacity and its utilization
Another technique whereby economists are able to establish a collusion is by evaluating the levels of production and the capacity utilization of firms. In a collusive market, firms may restrict themselves from producing a larger quantity to maintain a high price. This may result in production capacities being under-utilized in a bid to ensure that they do not supply excess goods in the market thereby reducing the price.
For instance, the cement industry has time and again been under accusation of colluding in several countries, where firms were determined to be collaborating over supply decisions in a manner that would ultimately provide them with better market prices to make huge profits from.
4. Bid-rigging and Auction Data
In markets where several firms bid for contracts through auction or tender, the economists can observe bid patterns as an indication of cartel behavior. Firms are found to manipulate the bidding process, for instance, bid rigging, where firms decide beforehand who amongst them will win by deliberately submitting higher bids, allowing one firm to win at a higher price as compared to a competitive auction. This practice was especially noted in the construction sector among various firms in the UK colluding on tender prices for public contracts.
By studying auction data, economists can try looking for signs or patterns of rotation among winning bidders. Bid prices that are very close indicate that firms are in fact agreeing to share contracts or bids instead of competing for them.
5. Game Theory and Behavioral Analysis
Game theory is crucial in the analysis of the strategic actions of firms operating in an oligopolistic market. The prisoner’s dilemma is one of the game-theory models that economists use in expectation of understanding how various firms would operate under different competitive or collusive situations. In collusion, firms face a dilemma: They can either coordinate with other firms, and agree to fix high prices that are good for all or it can cheat by lowering prices and grabbing a bigger share of the market.
If firms prefer to cooperate in the future, then there could be a sign of tacit collusion. By modeling the behavior of firms and analyzing these simulated results with actual data, economists can deduce if firms are colluding even in the absence of explicit evidence.
Because of such practical applications and usefulness, students are usually taught the complexities of game theory, which makes them ready to solve real problems. Choosing our professional microeconomics assignment helps is the best strategy to cope with this challenging topic with easy-to-understand assignment solutions and case examples.
6. Econometric Analysis
Apart from theoretical models, econometric tests can also be used to detect collusion. This is where market data concerning price, quantity, and cost are analyzed statistically to reveal collusion-like behavior. For example, one can use regression analysis and see if price changes are correlated among firms, which indicate collusion rather than competition.
Structural break tests can also be employed to detect changes in market behavior enough to signal the beginning or end of collusion. However, if, after a time period of stable prices, one of the firms cuts its price and the others copy this move, there is a possibility that a cartel has ceased to exist.
Economic Ramifications of cartelization
Collusion has significant economic consequences both for the market and consumer equally. With an artificial increase in product prices, collusive firms transfer wealth from consumers to producers, or, more correctly, devalue consumer welfare. Such a deviation from the efficient allocation of resources gives rise to deadweight loss, in which output is less than it would have been in competitive circumstances.
Since then, in the 1990s, various global companies colluded to fix the price of lysine, a very important animal feed additive. The livestock farmer paid the increased prices, which he later passed on to the consumers in the form of increased meat prices. Several hundreds of millions of dollars were eventually fined against these companies.
Collusion can also stifle innovation and competition. When firms agree not to compete with one another on prices or market shares, they have no real reasons to invest in innovations that would keep them competitive, work towards greater efficiencies, or produce better products for consumers.
Expert Microeconomics Assignment Help for Collusive Oligopoly and More
With our Microeconomics Assignment Help service, we provide all sorts support to scholars working on assignments, dissertations, or case studies under the ambit of collusive oligopoly and other similarly advanced concepts in economics. Their expertise covers both microeconomic theory and its real-world market applications, furnishing the student community with excellent solutions grounded on empirical data, credible examples, and rigorous economic analyses.
Our experts introduce students to the new strategies firms adopt in oligopolistic markets to come together, suppress competition and maximize their profits. They explain complex concepts, such as price-fixing, market sharing, prisoner's dilemma with hot examples, as exemplified by the OPEC cartel or historical price-fixing cases in airlines or pharmaceuticals.
By offering different perspectives such as using game theory to detect collusion, price analysis, or finding evidence on bid-rigging, our expert enhances the understanding of theoretical frameworks as well as practical implication. The current economic trends are also incorporated, which allows students to relate their assignments to the current regulatory landscape and antitrust policies, thereby making it more relevant and impactful.
Besides collusive oligopoly, we assist the students with other complex microeconomics topics such as:
• Game Theory: Analyzing strategic interactions among firms.
Market Structures: Comparing perfect competition, monopoly, and oligopoly.
• Price Discrimination: Examining how firms charge different prices to different consumers.
• Cost-Benefit Analysis: Economic decision-making in terms of effectiveness and related welfare of society.
• Externalities and Public Goods: Understanding market failures and government interventions.
Conclusion
Tools and techniques for detecting collusion in oligopolistic markets include price analysis, game theory, and econometric models. The consequences of collusion are severe on the economy and ultimately affect consumers with higher prices and reduced competition. Students studying microeconomics will find this more important because it gives an insight into how markets can be manipulated and also why antitrust regulations are in place.
For studying such intricate topics as collusion, students may opt for our microeconomics assignment help service to study practical examples, case studies, and advanced theoretical models for a better understanding of this critical economic issue.

Can You Take an E-Scooter on a Plane? A Comprehensive Guide
As e-scooters continue to grow in popularity, many travelers are left wondering whether they can take their can you take e scooter on plane on a plane. With their portability and convenience, e-scooters are increasingly common among urban commuters and tourists. However, due to aviation regulations and battery restrictions, it is crucial to understand the rules and guidelines when it comes to traveling with these devices.
In this article, we will provide a thorough examination of the policies regarding taking e-scooters on a plane, explore airline-specific rules, and share essential tips to make your journey smoother.
Understanding Airline Regulations on E-Scooters
The primary concern when traveling with an e-scooter is its lithium-ion battery. Airlines and aviation authorities around the world enforce strict regulations on lithium-ion batteries because they can pose a fire hazard if damaged or improperly handled. This section will break down the rules and what to look out for.
Lithium-Ion Battery Restrictions
The size of the lithium-ion battery in your e-scooter is the key factor that will determine whether you can bring it on board. Generally, airlines limit the watt-hour (Wh) capacity of batteries that passengers can carry.
Batteries under 100Wh: Most airlines allow you to carry devices powered by lithium-ion batteries under 100 watt-hours. In this case, the e-scooter is often allowed as carry-on baggage or checked baggage, depending on the airline’s policy.
Batteries between 100Wh and 160Wh: In this range, you may still be allowed to carry your e-scooter, but it will typically require special approval from the airline. You should always notify the airline in advance to avoid complications.
Batteries over 160Wh: Batteries exceeding this capacity are generally prohibited on commercial flights. You may have to ship your e-scooter separately via ground or cargo transport.
Always check the battery capacity of your e-scooter before traveling, and make sure it complies with the airline’s guidelines.
FAA and IATA Regulations
In the United States, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) set the global standards for what can be brought on a plane. Both organizations are very clear on the limitations of lithium-ion batteries. According to their guidelines:
Battery-powered devices like e-scooters are allowed as long as the battery capacity is under 160Wh.
The device must be turned off during the flight and should be packed in a way that protects it from accidental activation or damage.
Airline-Specific Policies on E-Scooters
Each airline has its own set of rules when it comes to e-scooters and other battery-powered devices. Below, we provide an overview of major airlines and their policies regarding e-scooter transport.
American Airlines
American Airlines allows electric scooters with batteries under 160Wh as part of carry-on baggage. However, they must fit within the carry-on size limits and be fully switched off.
Delta Airlines
Delta has similar guidelines but emphasizes that passengers must inform the airline ahead of time if they plan to bring an e-scooter. Batteries must be under 160Wh, and it is advisable to pack the scooter securely in a way that protects the battery.
United Airlines
United Airlines also permits e-scooters with batteries below 160Wh. They prefer that such devices be transported as carry-on baggage, and in some cases, they may ask passengers to disconnect the battery if it is removable.
British Airways
British Airways generally does not allow e-scooters in checked baggage due to safety concerns but may permit them as carry-on luggage if the battery size is within acceptable limits. It is best to contact their customer service before traveling.
Packing Your E-Scooter for Air Travel
When traveling with an e-scooter, it is crucial to pack it properly to comply with airline guidelines and ensure safe transport. Here are some tips to help you pack your electric scooter:
Remove the battery: If your e-scooter has a removable battery, always remove it and pack it separately in your carry-on luggage. This reduces the chances of damage or accidental activation.
Use protective packaging: Wrap the e-scooter in protective material, such as foam or bubble wrap, to prevent scratches or dents during the flight.
Secure the scooter: Make sure the e-scooter is folded and locked in place to prevent it from unfolding during the flight.
Follow airline size restrictions: Many airlines have specific size restrictions for carry-on luggage, so ensure that your e-scooter fits within these limits.
What to Do If You Cannot Bring Your E-Scooter on a Plane
If your e-scooter does not meet the airline’s guidelines, you still have several options to ensure that your e-scooter reaches your destination.
Shipping the E-Scooter
Many travelers opt to ship their e-scooter ahead of time, either through a courier service or via air cargo. This allows you to avoid the hassle of dealing with battery restrictions and size limitations. However, shipping can be expensive and may take longer than anticipated, so plan accordingly.
Renting a Scooter at Your Destination
If taking your own e-scooter isn’t feasible, you can always rent one at your destination. Many cities now offer e-scooter rental services, making it easy to get around without the need to bring your own. This is a convenient option, especially in cities with widespread e-scooter sharing programs.
Conclusion: Plan Ahead for Smooth Travel
Traveling with an e-scooter on a plane is possible, but it requires careful planning and attention to airline and regulatory guidelines. Always check your e-scooter’s battery capacity, review the airline’s specific policies, and pack your device securely to ensure a hassle-free journey. If your e-scooter exceeds the permitted battery capacity, consider other options like shipping or renting one at your destination.

airsLLide No. 5319: G-AWZR, Hawker-Siddeley HS.121 Trident 3B, British Airways, Zürich, July 10, 1984.
The Trident, by some also called the masterpiece of the British aviation industry, was quickly nearing the end of its service life when I started using my first, half-decent camera and lenses when going for a spin to the airport. She was already an exceptional visitor in July 1984, replacing the assigned, newly delivered Boeing 737-200 on the evening schedule into ZRH when G-AWZR whined into finals.
It is an example of the Tident's largest and final version, the -3B. Its most noteworthy and unique feature is clearly visible in the trailing edge of the tail fin: Although the Trident 3B was a trijet like the Boeing 727 or the Tupolev 154, it had a total of four engines - the small, additional booster engine - intake is in the bulge above the inlet of the center engine, exhaust is the nozzle at the base of the tail, above the exhaust of the center engine - was mounted to increase performance on take-off when operating in hot and high conditions, or when flying in a maximum density single-class leisure configuration to distant destinations.
Hawker Siddeley managed to sell a total of 117 Tridents, with some customers far away from its homeland. Besides British European Airways, later merged into British Airways that used an impressive total of 67 Tridents of sub-series -1C, -1E, -2E and -3B), customers also included CAAC in the People's Republic of China (36 units), Air Ceylon (1 unit), Cyprus Air (3 units), Iraqi Airways (3 units) or Kuwait Airways (3 units).

What Are the Best Ways to Maximize the Value of American Express Points?
Transfer Points to Airline Partners
One way to maximize American Express points is by transferring them to airline partners. American Express has many transfer partners. Among them are Delta, British Airways, and Emirates. Transferring points can provide more value. This is true compared to using them for direct bookings. For example, 1000 points may earn you $10 in travel credit. But, transferring those same points to an airline can often result in a ticket worth $20 or more. This is true, especially for first-class and international flights.
Emily, a frequent traveler, transfers her American Express points. She transfers them to Delta SkyMiles. By doing this, she booked a round-trip flight to Europe. The cost would have been twice as much if she had used her points for a direct booking. Emily's tip: Consider the cost difference when deciding how to use your reward points. Always compare the value of a direct booking. To transferring points, make sure to evaluate the value. You might be able to get a better deal. Consider transferring instead.
Book Through the Amex Travel Portal
Another way to get more value from your points is: By booking through the Amex Travel Portal. Through the portal, you can use your points to pay for flights, hotels, or car rentals. American Express sometimes offers bonus points for using their portal. You can earn points while making purchases. The portal also offers exclusive deals that are not available elsewhere. This makes it a convenient option. Maximizing your points in this way.
Mark used the Amex Travel Portal to book a hotel for his vacation. For instance, he used this portal to make his booking. By using the portal, he earned 2x points on his booking. He also found a deal that wasn't available on other travel sites. This made his points go further. Mark's advice: Before booking, always check the Amex Travel Portal. You might find a better deal. At the same time, you can earn extra points.
Take Advantage of Amex Offers
American Express cardholders have access to special deals with Amex Offers. This is another tool to maximize your points. They offer discounts on purchases at select retailers. Or, they offer cashback on purchases at select retailers. When you use Amex Offers, you save money. Separately, you also earn points. The savings quickly accumulate. This is particularly true when you shop frequently. To take advantage of these offers, go to your American Express account. Activate the offers through your American Express account.
Sarah activated an Amex Offer. With this offer, she received $50 back. After spending $200 at a popular department store, she earned the discount. She combined this offer with a sale. By doing so, she maximized her savings. Sarah's tip: Always check Amex Offers before shopping. Plus, she earned points on the entire purchase. Deals can increase your points balance. At the same time, deals can help you save money.

British Airways halts flights to Beijing The carrier said affected customers who have already booked tickets to travel on the route will be offered a full refund. The carrier said it was "pausing" its service from the end of October until at least November next year. Flights to Shanghai and Hong Kong will continue, BA added. It comes amid weaker demand and a ban on UK flights over Russian airspace, which has resulted in longer journey times on some routes.
