If Queen were Labyrinth characters.

Straight off the bat, Roger is Jareth. I'm sorry, I know there's a few issues with this. Roger's not exactly scary or mysterious like Jareth is. I can't imagine him trying to poison someone into a fantasy land with a poisoned peach just so he can dance with the victim.

But. Roger wears Jareth-esque type clothes very well.

Brian - Ludo. I know the intelligence and lacking of vocabulary and syntax doesn't match up very well but, well. Brian is very big and very fluffy looking and very huggable looking. And Ludo can talk to rocks and rocks are part of nature. Of course Brian is Ludo!!

John - This is where I start to get stuck. Is he Sir Diddymus? Is he Ambrosius? Is he the worm who wants Sarah to come inside, have a cup of tea and meet the missus? I'm not sure.

Freddie - Now I understand some people would say he should be the Goblin King, because he's sexy, wears amazing costumes and um... Has something in common with Jareth that I don't this is suitable to mention when talking about a kids film. But Roger is Jareth.

So... Freddie is Sarah. Don't come at me, you know I'm right.

Crystal - he's the knocker who can't hear

Rattie is the knocker who can't speak.

I would share a gif of the knockers but, um... I realised too late that gif searching "Labyrinth knockers" would get me gifs of Labyrinth as well as... A different type of a pair of knockers... I'm leaving it at that.

Phoebe and Joe are the bird and old wise man who swindle Sarah out of her ring. Not for any personality reasons, just because they're a double act and usually if one is in the fic the other one is also there.

And now... If I may be so bold to say this. Paul Prenter is the junk woman at the end, trying to get Sarah to stay in the fake house so she runs out of time.

Transformers (vol. 1) #24: Afterdeath

● Optimus Prime has quite the Jesus complex… ● 👏👏

Synopsis: Ethan Zachary is a programmer for a new energy collector called the Hydrothermocline, a device that creates energy from the temperature differentials in the ocean, and he has a perchance for programming and playing his own video games on the devices large computer. When one of his colleagues runs some tests, his gaming is interrupted to allows this however because he programmed a cheat code called "Afterdeath" that allows him to resume at any point in the game he doesn't mind. Little do they know that they are being spied on by a newly created Decepticon named Vortex.

While aboard the Ark, Wheeljack has detected and removed the Cerebro shell that has been implanted in Optimus Prime and they rig it to enable them to listen into the Decepticons and learns of their plot to steal the Hydrothermocline. Going there with the newly recreated Protectobots, Optimus Prime confronts Megatron and his newly created Combaticon. The two teams merge into their gigantic robot forms Defensor and Bruticus. Witnessing this, Ethan Zachary is captured by Bruticus and Megatron attempts to use the young man as a bartering tool. However, Ethan offers them an alternative: Instead of fighting for the Hydrothermocline in real life, and risk destroying it, they can battle inside his computer game Multi-World.

Entering the building and seeing the computer, Ethan explains that he can rig them to the computer and download them into the game where they can fight it out, the winning team getting to decide the fate of the Hydrothermocline. Megatron wishes to increase the odds and suggests that the losing team's leader should also be destroyed. Despite the odds, Prime agrees and they are all plugged into the computer. Ethan also hard wires two joysticks that will cause either Optimus Prime or Megatron to be destroyed depending on the outcome of the game.

Downloaded into the game, Optimus Prime decides to go and lead the Protectobots to battle the Decepticons, however Hotspot declines offering instead to send out the Protectobots in pairs so that Prime is safe. First Aid goes with Street Wise, Blades with Groove, and Hotspot goes alone. Over in the Decepticon camp, Megatron has the same idea, sending Swindle with Brawl, Vortex with Blast Off, and Onslaught on his own.

In "Vine City", Street Wise and First Aid get the aid of the plant creatures that live there as they treat the plants with respect while Brawl and Swindle blast their way through them. While the two Decepticons are tangled up in vines they are blasted out of the game. The same follows for the other Combaticons, as they are defeated by the Protectobots when they help protect the natives of "Cloud City" and "Swamp City", and soon each of the Combaticons are out of the game.

When it comes to the final battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron in "Pipe City", Megatron is angered to see that none of his troops have survived the game and that he now has to face Optimus Prime and Defensor on his own. In the real world, Megatron lashes out at his warriors for failing however Vortex secretly tells him of the "Afterdeath" cheat code giving Megatron the edge. Allowing himself to be "killed" by Defensor (a move where Defensor sacrifices himself in the process) Megatron uses the cheat code to revive himself in the game. However, Prime still gets the victory by knocking Megatron back down a pit, "killing" some of "Pipe City's" people in the process.

Although Optimus Prime has won the game for the Autobots, he concedes to the Decepticons because he violated the Autobots code of never killing, even though it was done to fictional characters in a video game. At Prime's insistence, Ethan pressed the button that destroys Optimus Prime. The Decepticons leave shortly thereafter with the Hydrothermocline and the Autobots with the body of their fallen leader. When all the Transformers are gone, Ethan pulls a floppy disk out of his computer, labels it "Optimus Prime" and places it in his collection of disks of "deceased" game characters.

Medieval AU

A lost meme from the inbox – something something AU.

Behold first an AI monstrosity to set the mood.

A medieval AU sound, to be honest, absolutely fantastic. Pure crack-nip. As long as it’s one of those quasi-fantasy ones where plague isn’t a common issue and people have decent hygiene habits.

It’s also one of those settings which feels ripe for all the raccoons-in-a-trench-coat to inhabit. Corinne is the local baker, a semi-recent arrival in the village who carries her own secrets. Brian as the county sheriff, or one of his men, appointed by the king to deal with unruly criminals. Raylan stops by on frequent occasions, hunting for the worst in the land, and often finding them already waiting for him in the local jail cell.  

Beth and Riley, the local nobles, one a noble knight and the other prone to appearing in the village to aid those inflicted with ailments. There is rumor of another sibling, a whisper of a name of Billy, but none have seen him. The villagers do know Jayden, a fellow noble, choosing to reside with the Riley’s instead of in her own castle, and a lady not to mess with.

While every land has the nobles, it also has those of less courtly aspirations. Ron, the owner of the local tavern, and the one who keeps many ruffians from swindling the town. Luka, who the children call the wolf of the woods, only comes into the village when he must. Aspen, an unruly waif with an uncanny ability to know all the secrets the town folk would rather stay hidden.

And amid the other souls who have been carelessly overlooked, there is Tabby, still serving drinks as everyone’s favorite tavern wench.

Her story is not too dissimilar to the stories of many of those trying to make their living on the strip. A young girl from a working class family with dreams of becoming a broadway star or country singer - her mom put her through beauty pageants from as soon as she could walk, her dad would drive her to various dance classes and singing on a saturday morning.. They of course were happy to encourage their daughter’s hobbies, but Molly did sometimes look at Charlotte like she was their ticket out of there, their very own Shirley Temple.

In school, she coasted - not by choice, but by the fact that some people just aren’t booksmart. Charlotte was a charming girl, got on with her teachers and was popular among the kids in school, but her grades barely cut it. And it wasn’t for lack of trying; she had tutors for extra help that she fit in among her dancing and pageants, but she wasn’t too focused on college or anything like that, wasn’t fussed about Yale or Harvard like most others were when the end of highschool came along. Instead, she was focused on forging a career for herself either singing with a guitar like her favourite person Dolly Parton or dancing, singing and acting her little heart out on Broadway. But where to begin? She didn’t live close enough to New York to drop into auditions whenever she wanted, but she did live in a place known for its music.

But becoming a star proved harder than one might think, endless rejection if she could find someone to even listen to her sing to begin with - it began to weigh on the young woman heavily, feeling her dreams of a future slipping through her manicured fingers.

So, she came up with a new dream after watching a travel programme about Vegas… she was going to be a showgirl. Charlotte saved for a while, before kissing her mom and dad on their cheeks, threw her two cases into the back of a cab and was Vegas bound! 

How did she save? Why, by going out to various military bases and bars and singing her heart out with a band made up of older men who still had a bit of that Nashville spark. She made grown men swoon, had them begging her to come visit them when she was next in town, some even wanted her to just write to them. Which she did. That was the time in her life when she was happiest and one she wished she could return to, deep down.

However, in Vegas, things were not what she had hoped. Turned down from auditions at the big places, Charlotte was too short, had hips that were too wide, a load of bullshit! But she was ever the optimist, wasn’t she? So she went into every bar and club she could, asking if they were looking for a showgirl, singer, anything and eventually found herself lucky. Lovelace was a bar with burlesque dancers, showgirls and singers, they welcomed in the bubbly buxom blonde and put her on show after show. She dances, sings, sits on knees and giggles. But all that don’t pay the bills, so Cherry became good at swindling.

She gave free drinks to men that wanted her company, took wallets, said that bottle service (which the bar didn’t do) was only an extra few hundred and just bought bottles over herself, she would rake it in. Livin’ la vida loca. Despite all this, she holds out some hope that one day things will fall into place for her and she’ll find some sort of stardom – her voice is really good, soulful and strong, able to make men weep singing a sweet country ballad but old rockers thrash about with her shredding her guitar and singing master of puppets.

December 8-án új nagylemezt ad ki a Have Mercy. A baltimore-i emo/poszt-hardcore/indie-zenekarnak ez lesz az első „egész estés” megmozdulása azóta, hogy három éve egy kisebb szünetre vonultak (2020-2022). A Numb címet viselő kiadványról most befutott az első ízelítő az Alive képében, amit egyébként az elsők közt is írtak meg a srácok, és már az elején tudták, hogy az egyik fő szingli lesz.

A dal arról szól, amikor egy toxikus kapcsolatban ragadsz, legyen szó akár barátokról, akár partnerekről. Számomra a dalszöveg a társfüggőség érzetét eleveníti meg, illetve hogy milyen nehézségekkel jár kiszakadni azokból a helyzetektől, amikről tudod, hogy nem szabadna bennük lenned. Zeneileg eléggé emlékeztet a korábbi cuccainkra, miközben egy kis új ízvilágot is behoz.

Transformers (vol. 1) #32: Used Autobots

Synopsis: Blaster and the Throttlebots are in California when they are suddenly attacked by the Vortex, leaving them to pull off some fancy highway maneuvers to allow Blaster to blast the Combaticon with his electro-destabilizer rifle. During the fight Rollbar's back end is blasted open Low on fuel they stop at a Blackrock gas station to fuel up, however, the owner of the franchise has sold out to RAAT who have set up an ambush. During the fight, the gas is ignited, forcing Blaster to save the soldiers lives before the station explodes. With no other choice, Blaster and the Throttlebots flee the scene.

While back at the Ark, Grimlock oversees Wheeljack's installation of a device that creates Energon Cubes from the heat energy generated from the volcano within Mount St. Hillary and the efforts being done to repair the Ark and make it space worthy once more. When Slag interrupts to tell him that he's learned the location of Blaster and Goldbug, Grimlock sends the Protectobots to go and collect them.

While back in California, the Throttlebots and Blaster decide that it's best to lay low for the night and decide to park in the first lot they see and pretend that they are regular cars. They are completely unaware that the lot they have chosen to park in is a lot of crooked used car salesman Big Steve. The next day as Big Steve opens for business, he's given a notice by the police to look out for six vehicles of interest, and then shoos them off before they can scare away customers. After ripping off a young family on their first car purchase, Big Steve notices six vehicles on his lot that he hasn't seen previously.

Going back to his office, his co-worker asks if he can keep Blaster, whom he found in one of the cars, Big Steve allows it and then goes to inspect these new vehicles. Noticing the damage on Rollbar, he decides that he needs to be scrapped. Saying this aloud prompts the Throttlebots to blow their cover and ask Big Steve to help them maintain their cover and get them some fuel so that they can continue on their way. Big Steve agrees and along the way back to his office he remembers the letter the police gave him. Realizing that there is a $50,000 reward on each vehicle Big Steve decides to sell out the Throttlebots. He sends off his co-worker to get a case lot of soda calls in RAAT to come collect the robots. When the co-worker comes back Big Steve gasses up the Throttlebots with the soda.

When RAAT arrives, Blaster tells the Throttlebots to escape, however, they cannot due to the soda in their gas tanks. Before Big Steve can complete his transaction with Walter Barnett, both the Combaticons and Protectobots arrive to collect the rogue Autobots. Big Steve decides that he will turn them over to the highest bidder. When Swindle attempts to blast Big Steve, Blaster blows his cover to save his life leading to a clash between the Combaticons and Protectobots. In the confusion, Walter Barnett hands Big Steve a check and makes off with the Throttlebots.

As the battle rages on, Big Steve's used car lot inventory is reduced to scrap and the Combaticons are forced into retreating thanks in part to Blaster's help. Despite the fact that Big Steve's business is ruined he is happy with the $300,000 check that he got from RAAT. Blaster, furious that Big Steve would sell out his friends uses his electro-scrambler disintegrate the check. When Blaster asks the Protectobots to help him rescue the Throttlebots, they refuse, drawing their weapons they tell him that they are placing him under arrest.
