This advertisement features a baby Rob McElhenney, his then-girlfriend and original Sweet Dee, Jordan Reid, and The Lawyer himself, Brian Unger.
I found a better video but with shittier sound:
Also featuring a bisexual Rob character.
have you seen the chocolate milk commercial rob did in 1998 with the lawyer? he gives off such an intense gay vibe i've watched it five times in a row (his fucking hand in the dude's hair at the end i am suffering)
youtube
i just woke up what the hell am i looking at…….
#it's always fun to find the iasip cast's work in shows and commercials in their pre-sunny days#thinking of all those charlie day advertisements#note to self to find some of those posts and reblog them#so sad glenn didn't do any ads#rob mcelhenney#jordan reid#brian unger#iasip cast#pre-sunny days#sur#Youtube

A guide to hockey nicknames
It’s hockey season my friends, and as a true Canadian who’s spent the last little while glued to the WJC and watching the leafs get sniped day after day, I’ve obviously been thinking about hockey nicknames.
So naturally, I decided to create this little guide. Drop what your hockey nickname would be, I’d love to read them!
Most of the time your main nickname depends on your last name, but there are many nicknames based on first names too.
Most common nicknames based on last names are a shortened version of the name accompanied by an -Sey/ Sie, or a simple S or E
Examples:
Mitch Marner - Marns, Mitchy
Auston Matthews - Matty, Tony, Tone
Connor Bedard- Bedsey
Michael Bunting - Bunts
Alexander Kerfoot - footie
Brady Tkachuk - chucky
Brad Marchand - Marchy
Patrick Marleau - Patty
William Nylander - Willy
Last names may also be shortened and given an -Er
Examples:
Kristopher LeTang - Tanger
Joseph Woll- Woller
Brian Spencer - Spinner
Steven Stamkos - stammer
Alexander Steen - Steener
Sometimes nicknames will be a pun or a play on words related to your last name
Examples:
Jack Campbell - soupy
George Armstrong - chief
Derek Boogaard - boogie man
Francis Bouillon - the cube
Stu Grimson - grim reaper
Leo Labine - Lion
John madden - mad dog
Brad may - May Day
Mark Recchi - wrecking ball
Larry Robinson - big bird
Curtis Sanford - sandman
Rob schremp- cocktail schremp
Jason Spezza - spez-dispenser
Tim Thomas - the tank
Jesper fast - quickie
And other times a nickname can be completely unrelated to your name but has to do with something else
Examples:
Auston Matthews - Papi
Wade Belak - intimidator
Beau Bennett - sunshine
Dave Bolland - the rat, greyhound
David Williams - the tiger
Gary Unger - iron man
Christ Tierney - cobra
Scott stevens - captain crunch
Jason smith - gator
Happy hockey season and go team Canada! 🇨🇦

Favorite IASIP characters are the lawyer because I love Brian Unger and because every single time he interacts with the gang his demeanor, his vocabulary, his condescension, his cunning its all just So Good, then Frank and Charlie, Frank because hes morally like the worst in the gang but unlike the others he has not pretentions that he's doing the right thing he just doesn't care that he isn't, and Charlie because like an animal he is incapable of understanding morality at all, and then. Rickety Cricket because every time you see him he has gotten worse than the last time you saw him

i hope you guys understand that brian limond limmy got very much saved by the birth of his son, alcoholism, destructive impulses as well as other issues, he very much got saved by his son’s birth and the fact that he loves death stranding is not purely for being a truck simulator to him, it was very much a father simulator as well, on top of the existence of cliff unger at all
“the target audience for death stranding is brian limond”

4. name a song that reminds you of your favorite character
12. who has been your favorite guest star on the show?
hi ash ty for asking!!
4. okay i won't use a song that i've already used for dennis edits (even tho those are my strongest dennis songs), but i will use songs from other dennis edits i've seen ☠️☠️ lash out by alice merton and dark side by bishop briggs stick out to me the most :). but i wanna say the man by the killers sooo badly lol.
12. hmm who counts as a guest star? do side characters count?? cuz if so, artemis pebdani, michael naughton, and brian unger are all stand out actors. (tbh the only guest star who was in one episode that i'm familiar with is jason sudeikis but schmitty is sooo annoying to me lmao)

If they don't skip any weeks starting from next week and do only rewatch episodes (and that's a BIG if), they should drop S5 E11 Mac and Charlie Write a Movie on Monday 17 April. Since it seems like they only record a week in advance, if they did do episodes of Sunny at the live shows on 16th and 17th, they would be covering The Gang Reignites the Rivalry and potentially A Very Sunny Christmas because the DVD came out after season 5.
However, we know they want to do an episode with Marder and Rosell (which I am obviously looking forward to). Meg's also been planning to have Artemis on for months now, but there were scheduling issues last year. The filming period now might be their best chance to have on recurring cast members, writers and production staff on the podcast. They might have Uncle Jack or the Charmac mums on and season 5 might get them thinking of Brian Unger again...
Anyway, when was the last time they did a stretch of 9 episodes without any bonus content episodes in between lol?! I looked at the last 20 episodes and 50% of them have been non-recap/rewatch/commentary episodes, so if they continue with this trend, there's a good chance they won't be far enough along with season 5 to do Mac & Dennis Break Up in Dublin or London. This is the one thing giving me hope.
April 16/17 is distant enough that they may be done editing a few episodes by that point. Might they preview season 16 at the live shows then, considering they've shown episodes at events like San Diego Comic Con a couple of months before airing them on FX?
if they do mac and dennis break up at one of those love shows i am going to nuke the entire continent of europe
#very worried because the scheduling of these live shows puts mac & dennis break up right in the Target Zone of Concern#it's not likely they'll be at the recording stage for S5E12 by 16 April#fingers crossed they'll still only be around S5E7 or so around that time#mac & dennis break up#not that I want those episodes to be discussed in the live either!#iasip podcast#always sunny podcast#iasip podcast live#iasip live#tasp live#tasp#rcg+#sur#sur rambles

If you don’t mind my asking, which live show(s) did you attend?
I went to Night 1 of the Philly September 2022 show. I didn't have this blog at the time so there's nothing really on here from that show but I did tweet a few things, like Charlie trying and failing to flip one singular cup and Rob managing after a second, and this iconic moment:
I deleted all the videos I took cos I had shitty seats and thought they would upload the full show to the TASP Youtube channel, but then they never did... lol. But the show was kinda weird and aimless because they didn't actually plan anything other than "let's do what we do in the studio live" so there wasn't a lot of info or moments to share other than small things I tweeted.
In contrast, the 2023 shows were absolutely awesome and I went to both of the ones in NYC. They had a real format and put on a show that was 100% worth the money and then some with the amount of content we got. Both nights were basically completely different shows. All of my posts from/regarding those shows are under #sunny live shows on my blog here.
There's a few videos I didn't post here (cos there was just a lot) so I will use this ask to preserve links to those videos on Twitter:
Night one: the Law&Order crossover intro Meg made, the origin of Ongo Goblogian, the in Memorium dedication video, Mary Elizabeth coming out on stage, Glenn completing the "sweaty hog" line, and this video of drunk Glenn taking selfies
Night two: Brian Unger's intro video as The Lawyer, Rob's Occular Pat down, RCG singing Birds of War, Friday the 13th Super Cut, The origin of Frank's Little Beauties, Meg and Glenn talking about Dennis removing his makeup in Dee Day, Bad parents compilation, RCG talking about watching Sunny with their families, Glenn saying "pee pee", Charlie rat compilation, Bryan Cranston continuing the MitM joke, Mary Elizabeth with eggs, Glenn as the 5th wheel, Glenn and the incorrect buzzer, Rob talking about Sunny personally, MEE and Kaitlin kissing
Ok.. there's a lot I didn't post here wow lol.
#iasip#ask#tasp#sunny live shows#at some point i will compile all of this and put it on the blog youtube channel i think#that makes sense to do#i didnt realise how much there was until i went through it all rn#hence me taking a lot time to answer this ask lol
