Mary + Brian's Romantic Armour House Wedding
Besides wedding photography, I also photograph bloggers in Chicago. I met Mary in 2015 (can’t believe it’s been that long already!) when she needed photos for her fashion blog, Sportsanista, and I’ve been shooting for her ever since!
A few years before Mary and I ever met, Mary met Brian. They met in 2011 through work – Brian was a client of Mary’s! After a few years, she invited him out for…

Eckert: OL Stat Study 2.0 Using PFF Run/Pass Blocking, SIS Total Points Earned Metrics 2016-2020
Today I am continuing my “Offensive Line Study Series”, here is a link to the first study that I would recommend for full context of this study: OL Study 1.0 I wanted to dive deeper and get a broader view than a single season. I also wanted to answer this question: How did the players grade according to stats from Pro Football Focus (PFF) and Sports Info Solutions (SIS) in the last five years? Here are the definitions for the datapoints used in this study: - PFF Run Block Grade (RBLK) = PFF Grade for Run Blocking - PFF Pass Block Grade (PBLK) = PFF Grade for Pass Blocking - SIS Total Points Earned (TPE) = The total of a player’s EPA responsibility using the Total Points system Some important things before the graph, the players in this study are the leaders in single season TPE with the highest snap counts (for durability), then layering in the PFF grades and TPE from 2016-2020. I also focused on more recent players that have played since 2018, then how those players did over the five-year sample size with the above datapoints. With that in mind, here’s what 2016-2020 looked like:
Great! I really enjoyed layering in the TPE as the dot sizes to see how their team value datapoint compared to the PFF Grades. Any players with larger dots in the bottom left were favored by the TPE stat, and any smaller dots elsewhere were favored by PFF grades. I also marked the Steelers players so we could see how Alejandro, Maurkice, and Ramon compared to the league. This again highlights how durable Villanueva has been, along with the new era at a position we’ve been blessed to see great stability in personnel for several years. All being below the mean in run blocking leads me to an interesting question: Are you optimistic the Steelers line will improve in run blocking this season? If so, which players could be above average league wide? Now let’s look at this angle, who were the best TPE players from the graph according to SIS, with PFF Grades, and Study 1.0 Ranks: Total Points Earned Rk RBLK Rk PBLK Rk Study 1.0 Rk 1. Joe Thuney 29 22 2. Andrew Whitworth 18 2 3. Jake Matthews 42 10 22 4. Zack Martin 2 9 5. David Bakhtiari 20 1 6. Alejandro Villanueva 37 16 23 7. Rob Havenstein 14 48 3 8. Shaq Mason 3 36 9. We know this all to well regarding having an offensive line as one of the strengths of the team to being one of the biggest concerns in this sample size. Hopefully this will apply to the 2021 o-line, staying healthy (knocks on wood) so they can build chemistry and hopefully be successful. BRIAN BROOKS DANCE
Hard-working and gifted choreographer Brian Brooks – 2013 Guggenheim and City Center Fellow, 2013-14 Joyce Theater Creative Residency recipient, and currently the inaugural choreographer in residence at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance – brings his company to the Joyce (March 14-18) with a 2015 revival of “Division” and the New York premiere of “Prelude” (2018), commissioned by the Harris. The two dances represent different aspects of his creativity.
Brooks’s highly physical choreography reflects the stamina he developed, dancing with Elizabeth Streb’s high action company, combined with his spiraling, sinewy movement that springs from his own creative wellspring. Dancers go from standing to kneeling to prone, seemingly without transitions; they’re mobility is seamless. Brooks’s dances are structurally cohesive, but they generate emotion through sheer kinetic persistence.
Matthew Albert of Brian Brooks Dance in DIVISION
In “Division,” the three men and three women in white shorts and shirts slice the space around them with 2’x3’, off-white panels they wield. Throughout the dance, they keep the placards animated, shoveling them across the floor, passing them among each other, swirling them above their colleagues, creating corners by connecting the long edges. People and props remain constantly fluid, so the density of motion is always in flux. Jerome Begins electronic beeps and tweets backs the action appropriately.
Members of Brian Brooks Dance in DIVISION
For kinetic and visual relief, the dancers occasionally abandon the props and interact physically with each other, in these moments, the piece is less gripping. But in a duet for Matthew Albert and (I think) Carlye Eckert, they support a panel between them with the pressure of their hands on either side. Here, the applied physics makes the conceit entirely intriguing, and one craves more of that kind of invention throughout. At the end, all six run off, letting their boards, one by one, fall silently to the ground.
The eight dancers in “Prelude” wear black dress suits and button-down shirts (costumes by Karen Young.) Joe Levasseur’s edgily moody lighting highlights the bodies in darkened space. (Unfortunately, no press photos of this piece were made available.) The kinetic premise is backwards locomotion – running, walking, crawling, rolling. After the opening group, various solos and duets occur that project a profound unease, wrenching restlessness, as if trying to wrest free of one’s own body. During these passages, people sparsely walk backwards across the back of the stage.
Begin’s original score comines piano, played with great authority and sensitivity by David Friend, and electronic track, manipulated by unseen Begin, maintains emotional tension, as it alternates between minimalist repetition and melancholic melodies. At one point Friend plays in canon with echoes of his playing, electronically looped.
Just when we think the dance is winding to a close, a bank of lights lowers from above to hang diagonally, above the metal table and four chairs the dancers carry on, turning the right side of the stage into a conference room; the feeling is more institutional than domestic. The furniture also adds new vertical levels for the dancing to explore. After this “act 2,” an extended solo passage for Stephanie Terasaki provides a thoughtfully ambiguous ending. She does a silky, intense solo and exits, as the piano continues for several seconds before lights black out on this fanciful community of avatars that crave to be fully human.

Amaç ve 2019 Seattle - Vancouver yolculuğu
[Üst sıra L'den R'ye: Todd Plaunt, Blair Casey, Brandon Boudreaux, Andrew van Leeuwen, Aaron Pambianco, Pete Nelson, Greg Plaunt, Kevin Eckert, Mark Carson, Duff Bangs, Cale Wilber, Jeff Johnson, James Drage Alt sıra L'den R'ye: Bill Buxton, Carey Moran, Albert Shum, Brian Boram, Bill Weigand, Michael Smith, Steven Gadingan, Kellen Rafı] Hayattaki az sayıda olay başından sonuna kadar gerçek bir amaç içerir. Greybeard by Brian Aldiss $3 Signet First Printing (1965) The time is the early twenty-first century, and humankind is dying, the entire race rendered sterile by an atomic 'accident' in 1981. Greybeard, barely yet sixty, is one of the youngest men alive. The story opens in the village of Sparcot on the Thames, where Big Jim Mole governs a ramshackle community of oldsters, eking out a living by farming, poaching (though who there is to poach from is not clear) and occasionally exacting a toll from travelers who attempt to take a boat under the Sparcot bridge. Nature is rushing back to obliterate the disaster they have brought on themselves. The cover artist is Richard Powers. . REINCARNATION OF POOL MAJOR BEGINS IN VEGAS
The 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship broke off at Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas on Sunday as a 256-player field of the world’s elite pool players began their quest to land one of billiard’s biggest titles.
The reincarnation of one of pool’s oldest majors, now promoted by Matchroom Multi Sport, began at 9am with 33 tables breaking in unison. Among the first to move to the winners’ side of the tournament was reigning champion Jayson Shaw, who got his tournament off to the perfect start with an 11-0 dismantling of German Marcus Westen. Later in the day Shaw defeated fellow Brit Tom Staveley while American No.1 Shane van Boening is also still going on the winners’ side as is the tournament’s highest-racked female player, Siming Chen of China. But there were a wave of early casualties as seeded players including previous US Open Champions Mika Immonen and Kevin Cheng fell into the losers’ side of the tournament. World Pool Masters winner David Alcaide and Mosconi Cup winners Skyler Woodward and Tyler Styer also have just one life left in this double elimination format and must now win eight consecutive matches to make the last-16 stage of the event.
The tournament feature table, streamed live at Facebook.com/USOpen9Ball, ended with a classic between two American legends as Dennis Hatch and Earl Strickland battled out a hill-hill thriller before The Hatchetman delivered a decisive blow to knock ‘The Pearl’ over to the losers’ side of the brackets. Play continues at 9am local time on Tuesday. The US Open is split into two stages with the full field playing double elimination down to the final 16 from Sunday, April 21 until Tuesday April 23. From Wednesday April 24 until Friday April 26 the final 16 players will play straight knockout in the Diamond Arena with global television coverage including Sky Sports and DAZN. All matches at the partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are race to 11, winner breaks, except the final which is race to 13. The draw and match schedule for the first stage of the tournament is available now at www.matchroompool.com. Players are playing for their share of a $300,000 tournament purse. The winner will take home $50,000, the famous US Open green jacket and the newly-commissioned Barry Behrman trophy. Tickets for the 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are still available at www.matchroompool.com from as little as $10 with VIP packages also available for the final three days of the tournament.
