Joseph Cassell/Jessica Jones custom ensemble
As has been the case for all her performance outfits, Taylor’s rainbow burst latest was from the mind of Jessica Jones — this time in close partnership with Taylor’s stylist Joseph.
While I love the commitment to making a statement at the outset of Pride Month, I would have personally opted for the fringe rainbow jacket and perhaps a pair of high waisted white denim. As-is, it feels like it veers far too strongly into a cheesy Crayola wonderland.
But if I could only make two changes it would be to 1) Remove the lace up corsetry detail. Which, in my opinion, was much better employed in this svelte and intentionally sexy reputation-era look during last year’s Biggest Weekend performance. Rendered in this technicolour palette and paired with a basic tee feels off-putting and incongruous. 2) Change those chunky sneakers for her go-to pair of custom Stuart Weitzmans Niki boots. I’ve never been a fan of the latest clunky sneaker trend.
Worn with: Stella McCartney sneakers
FYI: Brendon Urie is wearing a Donna Karan ‘Pride’ tee ($39.50) during the concert.

Why Taylor Swift Has No Problem Defending Herself—No Matter the Cost
by BILLY NILLES Jul. 2, 2019
As Taylor Swift approaches her upcoming 30th birthday, happening on December 13 of this year, she's begun taking stock of the things she's learned over the course of her first three decades on the planet. In March, she let fans in on a handful of them—30 of them, to be exact—via a self-penned piece in Elle and near the very top, perhaps belying its importance to the superstar, is the following:
"Being sweet to everyone all the time can get you into a lot of trouble. While it may be born from having been raised to be a polite young lady, this can contribute to some of your life's worst regrets if someone takes advantage of this trait in you. Grow a backbone, trust your gut, and know when to strike back. Be like a snake—only bite if someone steps on you."
As the last few years have proven, Swift has certainly grown unafraid to bite as a means of defending herself and the things she believes in. Not bad for someone whose so-called silence invited accusations of standing for nothing from critics.
Take this weekend's response to the news that celebrity music manager Scooter Braun, whose list of past and present clientele includes Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Kanye West and Demi Lovato, was the new owner of her entire music catalogue, thanks to his media holding company Ithaca Holdings LLC. reaching a "finalized" contract" with Big Machine Label Group, Swift's former record label, to acquire the company. The deal, made for a reported $300 million, includes Big Machine Music, which means that Braun retain ownership of the master recordings of each of the six albums she's released to date, as well as music from other artists such as Reba McEntire, Sheryl Crow and Lady Antebellum. And, as Swift admitted in an incendiary Tumblr post, it left her feeling "sad and grossed out."
After explaining that she'd hoped to own her work prior to departing Big Machine for Universal Music Group (Big Machine's distributor) in November of last year, only to be offered a deal to "'earn' one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in," as she wrote, she walked away from her past so that her future wouldn't be tied to a company that founder Scott Borchetta was clearly intent on selling to the highest bidder.

"Some fun facts about today's news: I learned about Scooter Braun's purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world," she wrote. "All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I've received at his hands for years."
As she explained in her post, she felt that Scooter's fingerprints were all over West and wife Kim Kardashian West's attempts to assassinate her character in the aftermath of the "Famous" lyrics debacle, which infamously find the rapper claiming that he "made that bitch famous," appearing in a screenshot of a FaceTime call between Bieber and West that the former shared with the since-deleted caption "Taylor swift what up" that she believes was intended to "bully [her] online about it" and allowing then-client West to release "a revenge porn music video which strips my body naked."
"Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it. This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at 15 to someone for whom the term 'loyalty' is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says, 'Music has value,' he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it," she continued. "When I left my masters in Scott's hands, I made peace with the fact that eventually he would sell them. Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter. Any time Scott Borchetta has heard the words 'Scooter Braun' escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to. He knew what he was doing; they both did. Controlling a woman who didn't want to be associated with them. In perpetuity. That means forever."
Taylor's move to take the two men involved in the deal to task has, predictably, drawn a line in the sand in the music industry, with folks like Brendon Urie, Halsey, Iggy Azalea, BFF Todrick Hall and other BFF Selena Gomezs mom Mandy Teefey publicly supporting Swift, while Bieber, Lovato, and Scooter's wife Yael Cohen Braun, who accused Swift of bullying her husband by going public with her beef, thereby sending her fan base his way, coming out in support of him.
While the minutiae of the deal and who knew about what when remains unclear, with Borchetta and Cohen Braun both furnishing receipts of some sort in their rebuttals to Swift that challenge her timeline, what is clear is that Swift is speaking up not just to shine a light on an injustice she's experiencing, but also to prevent other impressionable artistic youth from falling prey to the same sort of contract she willingly signed back in her early teens.
"Thankfully, I left my past in Scott's hands and not my future," she wrote. "And hopefully, young artists or kids with musical dreams will read this and learn about how to better protect themselves in a negotiation. You deserve to own the art you make."
It's hardly the first time that Swift has vociferously defended herself while also trying to move the needle forward for those less fortunate than her, be they artists or women in general.
Back in 2013, Swift informed bosses at Denver's KYGO-FM that morning show personality David Mueller had sexually assaulted her, groping her at a meet-and-greet event as they posed for a photo alongside Mueller's then-girlfriend Shannon Melchor. "When we were posing for the photo, he stuck his hand up my dress and grabbed onto my ass cheek," she explained to TIME in 2017. "I squirmed and lurched sideways to get away from him, but he wouldn't let go. At the time, I was headlining a major arena tour and there were a number of people in the room that saw this plus a photo of it happening. I figured that if he would be brazen enough to assault me under these risky circumstances and high stakes, imagine what he might do to a vulnerable, young artist if given the chance. It was important to report the incident to his radio station because I felt like they needed to know. The radio station conducted its own investigation and fired him."
Two years after the radio host saw his employment status at the station go from "current" to "former," he filed suit against Swift, accusing her of lying and suing him for making him lose his job. He wanted $3 million in damages. As result, she brought a countersuit against Mueller for assault and battery, taking him to trial.

By 2017, she was on the stand, showing an unflappable, steely determination to defend herself in the face of a man who'd wronged her and a legal team intent on discrediting her. When asked why the photos of the incident didn't show the front of her skirt wrinkled as evidence of any wrongdoing, she answered plainly, "Because my ass is located at the back of my body." When she was asked if she felt guilty about Mueller losing his job, she responded, "I'm not going to let you or your client make me feel in any way that this is my fault. Here we are years later, and I'm being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are the product of his decisions—not mine."
In the end, the jury threw out Mueller's unfair dismissal case, ruling in Swift's favor, awarding the singer the symbolic $1 dollar she'd asked for. In a statement released after the verdict was rendered, she said, "I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves."
A year later, Swift spoke to fans during a Tampa, Fla. stop on her Reputation Stadium Tour about the incident, thanking them for sticking by her during a "really, really horrible" time in her life. "I just think about all the people that weren't believed, or the people who haven't been believed, or the people who are afraid to speak up because they don't think they will be believed," Swift said. "And I just want to say that I'm sorry to everyone who ever wasn't believed because I don't know what turn my life would have taken if people hadn't believed in me when I said that something happened."
Over the years, Swift has also used her superstar muscle to advocate for what she believes she and all other artists deserve during this streaming revolution. In 2014, after penning an article for the Wall Street Journal in which she argued that "music should not be free" and that artists shouldn't "underestimate themselves or undervalue their art," she pulled her entire discography from Spotify.
"Music is changing so quickly, and the landscape of the music industry itself is changing so quickly, that everything new, like Spotify, all feels to me a bit like a grand experiment," Swift told Yahoo that November, defending her position. "And I'm not willing to contribute my life's work to an experiment that I don't feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists and creators of this music. And I just don't agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free."

The following June, she penned an open letter to fans, explaining why they wouldn't be able to find her latest album, 1989, wouldn't be made available on Apple Music once the service launched. As she explained, her issue lay with Apple Music's decision not to pay artists during its free three-month trial for users to sign up. "I'm not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company," she wrote, adding that she was speaking on behalf of fellow musicians who had some hesitation at speaking out against the tech company.
"These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call," she added. "We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."
A day later, Apple announced that it would, indeed, be paying artists during the free trial period."When I woke up this morning and saw what Taylor had written, it really solidified that we needed a change," Apple's senior vice president of internet services and software Eddy Cue told Billboard in an interview after tweeting that the company was changing course. "And so that's why we decide we will now pay artists during the trial period."
By 2017, in time to celebrate 1989 selling over 10 million albums worldwide and, maybe, to tweak then-frenemy Katy Perry's launch of new album Witness, Swift's music was back on Spotify and added to Amazon Music and Google Play as well.
At every turn, Swift has revealed herself to be someone who has certainly found that backbone she wrote about in Elle. After West claimed he made her famous, he accepted Album of the Year at the 58th Grammy Awards with a speech that didn't mention the rapper by name, but spoke to him just the same. "As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I wanna say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," she said. "But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and you'll know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world."
When Kardashian West branded her a snake as she shared the questionably-recorded audio of a phone call between Swift and West as he was crafting "Famous," she took the animal iconography on as a central motif in her next album and tour, which became the highest-grossing domestic tour by a woman ever.
"A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet," Swift wrote in Elle. "The fact that so many people jumped on board with it led me to feeling lower than I've ever felt in my life, but I can't tell you how hard I had to keep from laughing every time my 63-foot inflatable cobra named Karyn appeared onstage in front of 60,000 screaming fans. It's the Stadium Tour equivalent of responding to a troll's hateful Instagram comment with 'lol.'"
When speaking with a German news outlet to promote new single "ME!" in May, she was asked if her 30th birthday meant she was going to settle down, get married and have kids soon. She shut that s--t down, saying, "I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30. So I'm not going to answer that."
As she's become more politically active, endorsing progressive candidates in her adopted home state of Tennessee, emphatically calling out President Trump, and advocating on behalf of the LGBTQIA community during this most recent Pride Month, after years of being criticized for sitting silently on the sidelines, she's opened herself up to criticism from those who wish their pop stars would shut up—unless they're spouting views identical to their own, of course. But it's no different to the criticism she faced when she was silent, or when she dared to demand fair compensation for her art, or when she simply wanted to be believed as a victim of sexual assault. All of which she's learned to look past.
"I learned to block some of the noise," she wrote in Elle. "Social media can be great, but it can also inundate your brain with images of what you aren't, how you're failing, or who is in a cooler locale than you at any given moment. One thing I do to lessen this weird insecurity laser beam is to turn off comments...I'm also blocking out anyone who might feel the need to tell me to 'go die in a hole ho' while I'm having my coffee at nine in the morning. I think it's healthy for your self-esteem to need less internet praise to appease it, especially when three comments down you could unwittingly see someone telling you that you look like a weasel that got hit by a truck and stitched back together by a drunk taxidermist. An actual comment I received once."
As for those in real life who are bringing her strife—like, say, Braun and Borchetta, currently—she's got a plan for dealing with that, as well.
"Banish the drama. You only have so much room in your life and so much energy to give to those in it," she wrote. "Be discerning. If someone in your life is hurting you, draining you, or causing you pain in a way that feels unresolvable, blocking their number isn't cruel. It's just a simple setting on your phone that will eliminate drama if you so choose to use it."
In other words, put quite simply, she's learned how to shake it off.

"BEFORE THE HAPPENING, my life was impossibly mundane. My universe was unfathomably small, strung together by a few measly, attenuated strings of fate ready to snap at any given moment.
The sinew of the bone in the skeletal shell that was my life was fading fast, and quickly it would have rendered me as stuck and brittle as that desiccated skull we saw in biology class. In other words, my life was oh so tragically stagnant, and I was the bug caught in the web of complexities. The measly, preyed-upon bug, stuck for eternity.
And then I met Frank."

When Gerard is assigned an English project in which he has to write a compelling essay, he becomes determined to get the best grade in the class. No more 'just average Gerard,' no. He was determined to win. When he crosses paths with the new kid, a selectively mute boy named Frank Iero, he knows exactly how to win over the teacher's praise.
"Gerard Way, the boy who got a mute kid to talk," he could practically see it headlining every newspaper across New Jersey.
Frank was just a test subject, Gerard couldn't possibly bring himself to care about him, let alone fall for him.

You blink at him. “I’m sorry, what?”
He laughs awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “I haven’t been totally forthright. I didn’t end up teaching in Connecticut by chance; my parents loved hiking and fishing and cross-country skiing and bought this place when I was 5 or 6. And we came here every winter break that they were alive. So when they passed and I could choose where to go, I knew I wanted to be here - or close to here. Some of my best memories with them are here on this property, and since they owned it outright, I do too.”
“The Urie East Coast Compound,” you repeat, a little stunned and he laughs awkwardly again.
“Yeah, I don’t really call it that. I mean, that’s what they named it. I guess it’s its name. I don’t want to change it. But I don’t really call it anything? I just come up here to be by myself during winter breaks and think. About stuff and them and stuff. I’ve never had to call it anything since I’ve never brought anyone here.”
You turn in his arms and hug him tightly. “Thank you.”
He runs his hand over your back, holding you close. “For what?” You tip your head up to look at him and smile, going on tiptoe to kiss him.
When you part, a little breathlessly, you tell him, “for sharing this place with me. It means so much to you and we could have gone anywhere with this time but you chose to bring me here. It means a lot to me and I love you.”
“Well, I intend on sharing everything with you eventually,” he reminds you and kisses the top of your head. “Do you want a tour?” You nod and he grins. “Well, we’d better get you a sweater then, there’s a lot to see beyond these walls.”
-||-
“Ahhhh my little Han Solo,” he grins, watching you zip up your boots and adjust your fleece vest. You stand up and roll your eyes.
“Hey buddy, you packed for me, so you don’t get to make fun of my clothes.” He puts his hands up, still smiling.
“I wasn’t teasing! I really like this look.” He crosses the room and pulls you in close, nuzzling your ear. “It’s sexy.” He pulls back a little and scans you up and down. “Especially because I can see the lace through your shirt.” You laugh and shove him lightly.
“You cannot.”
“It’s white and really intricate.” He runs his hands down your arms, feeling the soft cotton of your long-sleeve shirt under his fingers. “And,” he leans in close again. “It’s begging for me to take it off of you.” He runs his hands up under your shirt.
“Later, Urie,” you tease, taking both of his hands and pulling them down. “You promised me a tour.”
He nods decisively. “That I did. Let’s go Milton. We’ll start outside and work our way back to the house, so I can take you up on your promise.”
You’re outside and headed to the barn when he turns to you. “You’re good with a little speed, yes?”
“I’m not doing meth with you,” you tease and he laughs, pulling you into the barn and lifting you onto a wooden table with a row of helmets behind it.
“No, dork.” And then he’s fitting a helmet on your head and checking it for snugness. “Feels okay?” You nod and he smiles. “Good. Give me one second.” He puts his own on and heads towards the back of the barn.
You look around the barn, assuming you’ll be going on horseback, but you can’t see any horses. “Urie, what are we doing?” There’s a soft purr as he approaches and you start laughing. “A four-wheeler?” He grins and hops off it, lifting you from the table and placing you onto the seat.
“Is this okay?” He looks worried and you nod, patting the seat in front of you. “Okay.” He smiles, slipping back on and you wrap your arms around his waist tightly. “Good girl,” he murmurs, leaning back to knock his helmet against yours lightly. “Hold on.”
-||-
“This,” he tells you, parking the four-wheeler, “is the most secluded part. The private guest cabin.” You eye it and look back at him.
“This is the guest cabin?” He nods and laughs kindly at your expression. “This is easily three bedrooms itself.” He nods again.
“And two and a half baths,” he adds, taking your hand and leading you inside and around the upstairs, opening doors and gesturing vaguely. “It’s where I usually stay if I’m just trying to get away for a little bit.” You look around, taking it all in, clearly impressed. “But we’ll be in the main house for this little vacation,” he tells you, leading you back downstairs and outside.
“Now,” he tells you as he starts the machine again, “the hiking trails. These were where my mom spent most of her time if she wasn’t with us or in the kitchen.” He goes slower this time, so you can take it all in. You reach the peak, and he’s right, they’re moderate hills, not mountains. But they’re beautiful and the view they grant is awe-inspiring.
“It’s gorgeous,” you murmur, and he hears you over the engine, nodding.
“Yeah,” he agrees. “It is. She loved it out here.” He’s quiet for a moment and you hug him tightly from behind. He relaxes a little into your embrace, sighing. “Okay,” he says after a moment. “Ready to keep going?”
“If you are.”
“To the pond!” He exclaims, and you know his faking the enthusiasm but now isn’t the time to call him out. He jerks the handles sharply and you’re headed back down, pressing your body to him.
“Your dad was the fisherman, I presume?” You ask when he brakes, parking by the dock of a large pond. He nods.
“He wanted me to be more into it, but I was more into the hiking, if I would ever leave the piano. I wish I had spent more time with him.” He sighs again and you lean forward, kissing his cheek. “Sorry to be all gloomy,” he tells you and you squeeze him.
“Don’t apologize. You’re allowed to feel things,” you tell him, and he nods, stepping off of the four-wheeler and holding out a hand to you. You slip off of it and take his hand, curling into his side under his arm. “Thank you for sharing this with me,” you tell him again. “It means a lot to me.”
He looks down at you affectionately. “Y/n, I intend to share my life and everything in it with you.” Your breath catches in your throat; he’s said it before and said other things that imply that before, but here, standing with him where he essentially grew up, on land and property his parents left him...it means that much more to you. “Come on,” he gestures back to the four-wheeler. “It’s getting colder. Let’s get you inside, or at least to the heated pool.”
“Heated pool?” You look intrigued and he laughs, kissing you softly.
“Heated pool,” he confirms with a smile.
-||-
“You’ve seen the kitchen,” he says as you step back inside after dropping the four-wheeler off in the barn. “But I think I rushed you through the rest of it. Informal living room,” and he gestures to a room painted in a soft yellow. “Formal living room, the difference being the fireplaces,” he says with a smile. “Sunroom through those doors, we’ll have breakfast there,” he promises, and leads you upstairs. “Guest room, as you can tell from the rose-print wallpaper.”
You laugh, resting your head on his shoulder. “Roses not your thing?”
“They’re fine, but not for my wallpaper, thank you.” He opens the door across the hall. “My room, or what was my room I guess. I replaced the bed and updated the decor a bit. Trust me, it used to look like a small boy’s room.” He studies it. “I suppose it’s just another guest room now. Come on.” He beckons you down the hall. “My parents’ - I mean. The master suite.” He falters and you hug him. “Sorry. I probably shouldn’t call it my parents’ room anymore, should I? Not if we’re going to be in there from now on.”
You kiss his cheek. “I don’t care where we sleep. We can stay in your old room if that’s what you want.” He considers this and shakes his head a little.
“No, we’ll be in there. I got a new mattress,” he murmurs in your ear, “and new sheets. Don’t worry.”
You laugh and shove him playfully. “I wasn’t even thinking about that,” you tell him and he smiles, leading you into the bathroom. You can’t stop the moan that escapes your lips. “I love clawfoot bathtubs,” you tell him, and he smiles. “I can’t explain it but I just love them.”
“Well, it’s all yours.” He turns again and leads you back out to the balcony. “And we’ve been here before.”
You look down over the property and are rendered speechless again. “It’s just...it’s all so...wow.”
“I know. When it really hit me, how lucky I was to grow up like I did, I was…yeah.” He nods a little. “Yeah.” You’re both silent for a minute and he kisses the top of your head. “Pool? Or are you hungry?”
You think for a moment. “Pool first, then food.” He nods and you turn back to the bedroom where he left the suitcase.
“Whatcha doing, baby?” You can hear the smile in his voice.
“Getting my swimsuit,” you tell him, giving him a weird look.
“Good luck. I didn’t pack you one.” He smirks a little and you laugh, pulling your vest off and unzipping your boots.
“Well, then I guess your wish from earlier is granted.” He gives you a puzzled look and you grin, tugging your shirt off over your head and hooking your thumbs in the waistband of your leggings. “You get to see me in this little white thing.”
“Fuck, Milton,” he groans, taking in the white lace one piece you’ve had on all afternoon, and he lifts you over his shoulder and heads for the stairs. You’re shrieking with laughter and his grip on you tightens as he goes downstairs. “Don’t squirm too much, babygirl, I want us to make it to the pool,” he tells you and you nod, holding your breath to keep still.
“Do we have to wait for it to get hot?” He’s deposited you on your feet by the pool and he shakes his head.
“No, I can turn it on from my phone. It should be a giant bathtub by this point,” he muses, and you stick a toe in, sighing happily. “Good?” You nod and step back, gauging the depth. He must be able to read your mind. “10 feet at this end, 20 in the middle, and 25 at the far end. But there’s seating.”
“Great,” you say with a smile and step back again before diving in. When you come up, he’s naked and staring at you, a little slack-jawed. “What?”
“You have great form,” he observes. “And you’re sexy as hell.” You laugh and push your hair back. “Yeah, don’t do that, baby. You’re already tempting me.”
“Good,” you grin and go into a lazy backstroke. “Come get me.” He dives in after you and catches you easily. “Hi,” you whisper, wrapping your legs around his waist while you both tread.
“Hi babygirl.” He kisses you hard with his hands in your hair and because he stopped treading, you both slip under the surface. It takes a moment to register; you’re still kissing under the water, but he pulls back and you both break through, breathing hard. “Let’s go sit,” he suggests, laughing a little.
-||-
“Baby, Bren, we should, fuck,” you gasp as his lips move down your chest.
“I agree,” he murmurs, lips closing over your nipple through the lace, and you laugh, trying to catch your breath.
“You didn’t let me finish. We should go inside.”
“Are you cold?” He looks worried and you shake your head.
“No, but if we’re going to have sex…” you trail off, moaning again when he moves back up to kiss your neck.
“Which we are,” he points out, tongue teasing the pulse point behind your ear.
“Right, okay, since we’re going to have sex, shouldn’t we be...I don’t know...not in your pool?”
“I don’t mind,” he murmurs, and you slip off the bench to wrap your legs around him, wanting to feel how hard he is. You whimper a little and he rests his forearms on the bench behind you so you’ll both stay above water, even with you clinging to him and rubbing against him. “You like that, babygirl?” You nod, lips parted in pleasure as he rocks back against you. “You don’t really wanna go inside, do you?”
“B, have you ever had sex in a pool?” He shakes his head and you grin. “It’s not gonna go well for me, down there. You’d think with all of this water it would help, but it’s only gonna...well, it’s going to do the opposite of what we need.”
“Mmmm,” he nods. “I see.” He considers this for a moment. “And it’s too cold to just lay you out on the pool deck,” he muses.
“Hey, we can tease and touch all we want out here,” you tell him. “But if you want to actually be in me, we need to actually be inside,” you say with a grin and he laughs, nodding.
“Deal.” He rocks his hips up into yours and you moan again, grinding back down on him. “Can I touch you?” You nod, and he shifts to rest on one arm while the other snakes down between you to rub soft circles on your clit through the lace. “Probably can’t go in, probably just have to do this, outside, yeah?” His voice is soft and you nod, reaching down to grasp his erection. “Fuck, baby,” he groans and bucks into your hand, fingers moving faster over you.
“B, we’re gonna need to go inside,” you whisper, grinding down against his fingers. “Need you. In me.”
“Yeah,” he agrees, a little breathless. “Yeah, we need to go inside like now.”
-||-
You don’t make it far; he’s got you spread out on the formal dining room table, feet on a chair as he kneels on the ground between your legs, mouth moving hungrily over you, tongue pressing insistently against your lace-covered heat. “Gotta get this off, fuck,” he groans, and you’re both fumbling with straps and buttons.
“Got it,” you say triumphantly and you push it down your chest and your stomach, raising your hips so he can pull it off the rest of the way.
“So fucking sexy on,” he whispers, “but so much better on the floor.” He spreads your legs wider so he can spread his tongue over you entirely, long strokes.
“Yeah, B, I like that,” you gasp, trying not to thrust against his face, hands moving over your chest and through your hair. “Long, soft strokes, just tease me baby, really get me begging you for your cock.”
“Fuck, babygirl,” he gasps against you, eyes shut. “You don’t know what you do to me.”
“I,” you moan, arching your back, “have some idea. Fuck, I want you.”
“How badly?” He kisses the inside of your thigh, rubbing two fingers over you and smiling up at you. You moan and rock forward while you reach down and grab his hand, forcing his fingers into you. “Goddamn, Y/n,” he whispers, resting his head against your thigh, watching you work his hand against you. “You gonna use me baby, fuck my hand til you get off?” You nod breathlessly, biting your lip. “You know,” he murmurs, “I could help you with that. All you have to do is ask.”
“Yeah?” You look down at him longingly, moving his hand in slow circles, grinding into his palm. “If I ask real nicely, you’ll take me upstairs and fuck me til your neighbors hear me begging for more?”
“Babygirl, the closest neighbors are easily 10 miles from here.”
You smirk down at him. “I know.”
-||-
“Oh my god,” you gasp, fingers tangling in your hair. “This is the best purchase you’ve ever made.”
He smiles and nips at your hipbone before moving back in, tongue rolling over you at the new angle and thumb rubbing your clit. “Told you,” he moans, “told you I’d get you a wedge.” He laughs a little breathlessly, propped up on his elbow, mouth moving mercilessly. You shove your fist against your mouth, a high-pitched whine being smothered, and he reaches up to move your hand. “No one’s gonna hear you babygirl, just me. Let me hear how good I’m making you feel.”
“Fuck, Brendon,” you gasp, eyes fluttering. “I can’t - it’s so - your tongue is just - god, fuck me, please, fuck, take me baby, fill me, fuck me, god, I need it, I need you, please.” The last word comes out a broken moan and he stops licking your clit and pulls back, crawling over you. He kisses you tenderly, and you can feel the warm weight of his erection pressing into your hip.
“You want me, honey?” You nod, breathlessly. “You gonna let me hear how good I’m making you feel?” You nod again, begging him. “God, Y/n, fucking love it when you beg me,” he murmurs, sidling back to center and kissing you again while he rubs his length against your slick heat, getting both of you ready. “Let me hear you,” he whispers once more as he pushes into you and you give him exactly what he wants, head tipped back and low moans pouring forth.
“God, yes, fuck me,” you cry, the angle from the wedge under you so good; you’re taking him so much further than normal, and he’s hitting all of the right spots, even ones that normally only happen if he’s taking you from behind. “Brendon, god, yes, fuck my pussy, I’m gonna come so fucking hard, I can feel it baby, please.”
“Come on me,” he tells you, going harder and faster, a hand tangled in your hair near your scalp so the tugging isn’t a sharp pain but a dull ache. “Come on me babygirl, and I’ll come for you; let me come for you Y/n,” and he’s almost begging you.
“Jesus, right there,” you whimper, spreading your legs a little more and he reaches down to rub at your clit. “Yes!” You don’t mean to scream but you do and he moans happily when you come, hard, your walls clenching around him.
“Fuck, I’m coming,” he groans, leaning down and biting your shoulder as he finishes, and you take over, one hand clawing his back and the other in his hair, rocking roughly up into him, fucking him through his orgasm. “Yes, baby, so fucking tight, fucking love you,” he groans and you can feel him throb inside you, a second wave bringing sharp moans out of both of you.
You’re shaking under him with the exertion and he moans, slumping over you as he pulls out. “Fuck,” you moan, and he nods, kissing your neck. “Oh god,” you gasp, writhing under him, rocking against his length. “Don’t do that unless you want to make me come again; fuck I’m like a stretched rubber band - one bit of pressure in the right spot and I’ll snap for you.”
“What a tempting offer,” he murmurs, but moves his lips and rolls to one side, bringing you with him so he’s flat on the bed and you’re sprawled over him. “You want food, baby?”

ZAYN 'Entertainer' & Panic! At The Disco 'High Hopes' Track Review
Opening up to optimism on the other hand closing up to falseness. Panic! At The Disco and ZAYN dropped new completely contrasting singles 'High Hopes', a bashful, bold and brass crusade of utter fanaticism following 'Entertainer', exposing an evaluation of foreseeing truth amongst a forage of fetching fibs.
Tumblr media
"I spent too long not setting my expectations high enough, worried about how it felt to fail. I hit a point where I realised I had to aim high and fail, fail, fail in order to keep growing. This one is for all of you who helped me go through it all." Boasts the brains behind brand new hit 'High Hopes' ahead of the underpinning record Pray For The Wicked emancipate m, amongst heavily UK based appearances ahead of the one man and his touring members band's promotional pit stops. Performing at BBC Radio 1's Biggest Weekend costal city spot Swansea, a speedy signing for all sinners who snatched up the pre-order packages for the religiously inclined record at HMVs oxford street flagship, before bolting to a secret event for the select few fans picked throughout the websites sign up database dubiously surrounding the sixth studio album in comparison to ZAYN's empty 'Entertainer' events, with Asian apparel endorsement Penshoppe posters popping up in paramount points in the Philippines, plastering over 'Entertainer' eventual parade.
Tumblr media
'High Hopes' terrific trumpets, tapping snares and ornate orchestral instruments makes a pompous big band meet an organised organisation of wooden stringed assortments rendering a relation to 2011's Vices and Virtues melancholy orchestra cross contaminating with 2018's Pray For The Wicked wacky and wonderous marching band, to curate a sub era of Panic! At The Disco that hones in on 'High Hopes' for the foreseeable future balancing a familiar struggle to set free from the past. With dipping drops and honourable horns, a consummate candidate set to be a fixture of a US hockey campaign for its 2018 cup competition, a fitting song synchronisation showcasing the singles morale boosting and motivational boasting thesis. As Brendon Urie proudly pronounces a futuristically optimistic outlook under an entirely incentive, momentum and stimulating vocal demure, a typical tenor tone Urie possesses to present a problematic and turbulent musical career influenced under the financial and emotional pressures of industry tribulations, turned realiser of attainable achievements and fulfilling paramount prophecies and major manifestations singing "Had to have high, high hopes for a living/ Shooting for the starts when I couldn't make a killing/ Didn't have a dime but I always had a vision/ Always had high, high hopes". Both lyrical and production value hitting a sanguine spirited sound to the bands follow up song ahead of Pray For The Wicked exports 'Say Amen (Saturday Night)', Silver Lining' and 'High Hopes' with the full length LP launching 22nd June.
Tumblr media
'Entertainer' chattering and pattering production pronounces Zayn's maturity in music. From banal Bubblegum Pop to undisputed Urban, a short stint of a 3 minuet song is enough to evoke an electro-R&B artistry to flow seemingly through the single's entirety. Accompanied by the 'LIKE I WOULD' crooners accomplished vocals, settling at a somber and steady technique somewhat restricting Malik's famous falsetto with the looming lack of high hitting notes in dim dismay. Yet with the single making it's worldwide debut on Apples acquisition Beats 1 Radio with DJ Zane Lowe, a significant stakeholder in propelling the 25 year olds solo success with one of the important initial interviews with the star subsiding on the platform his smoky and sleek sounds exhibited a voice that suits the accompanying music videos sultry scenes model Sofia Jamora portrays in her major follow up role from the precursory 'Let Me'. In the representation of a provocative worker sporting a platinum blonde Malfoy inspired bob cut, to ZAYN sitting comfortably relishing the scenes sings "Don't you take me for a fool/ In this game, I own the rules/ You were my favourite entertainer". Expressing an ensemble of lyrics letting listeners tune in to a confident confrontation of lies and lust of a lover, playing a dangerous game and gambling with Malik's emotions.

2017 Artist Tag Game
tagged by: @ocarinnas !! Thank you so much I honestly saw this going around and was like “I’m not good enough to be tagged in one of those” so to be considered an artist but someone I look up to a lot means the world to me  ❤️ ❤️
tagging: @persephinae, @haru-shihoudani, @nekoabuki, @pika-piii, @phantomhivez, @freshias, and @megidolaoncute. you don’t have to do it obviously but i love all your guys art so you’re being bothered with this hurr hurr
rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 5 favorite works you’ve created this year (fics, art, edits, etc!) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you’ve brought into the world in 2017. tag as many writers/artists/etc as you want (fan or original!) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works.
Yato Tumblr Banners - Noragami these didn’t really get a ton of notes, but I was still really happy with how they turned out. I’m not super happy with the text on the first one, but coloring and lighting I think turned out nice! Second one is probably my favorite though
Ray set “...boy oh boy I love it when I fall for that” - Mystic Messenger Needed to specify which Ray set since I’m probably going to be making a new one with the release of his route lol but I was really really proud of how many notes this one got, especially since I was worried about it since it was my first time doing a more simple style.
707 Tumblr Banner - Mystic Messenger was for a theme I actually used twice and I think I even shrunk this down to be used as a signature too. I thought I had made this longer ago but apparently it was just last year. Just really like this one, probably one of my favorite edits I’ve done tbh
Hinata & Kageyama Phone Wallpaper - Haikyuu!  ok I made this for @asahahi for new years but I really like how it came out?? I probably would redo the shadows under the render but otherwise I like how it came out with the lighting and how dynamic it looks.
I’m going to cheat and put my favorite signatures here:
Nishinoya Yuu - Haikyuu
Chester Bennington - LinkinPark
Hiei - Yu Yu Hakusho
Katsuki Bakugo - Boku no Hero Academia
Brendon Urie - Panic! at the Disco

by Ourladyofresurrection
"BEFORE THE HAPPENING, my life was impossibly mundane. My universe was unfathomably small, strung together by a few measly, attenuated strings of fate ready to snap at any given moment.
The sinew of the bone in the skeletal shell that was my life was fading fast, and quickly it would have rendered me as stuck and brittle as that desiccated skull we saw in biology class. In other words, my life was oh so tragically stagnant, and I was the bug caught in the web of complexities. The measly, preyed-upon bug, stuck for eternity.
And then I met Frank."
________________________
When Gerard is assigned an English project in which he has to write a compelling essay, he becomes determined to get the best grade in the class. No more 'just average Gerard,' no. He was determined to win. When he crosses paths with the new kid, a selectively mute boy named Frank Iero, he knows exactly how to win over the teacher's praise.
"Gerard Way, the boy who got a mute kid to talk," he could practically see it headlining every newspaper across New Jersey.
Frank was just a test subject, Gerard couldn't possibly bring himself to care about him, let alone fall for him.

Press Play on These Awesome Podcasts
Podcasts are the new radio. Though I’m the biggest proponent of the written word, I’ve come to love audio storytelling almost as much. There is literally a podcast out there for every type of person. And just like I’m bad at keeping up with TV shows in this age of superior television programming, I’m bad at keeping up with podcasts because there’s a new season to love every week! Or day! Spend your commute getting lost in some of my podcast suggestions below:
Happier with Gretchen Rubin
Ever need a real kick in the adulting butt? Tune into Happier. Every week, lifestyle writer Gretchen Rubin and her sister Elizabeth Craft give advice on how to make your life more happy, and in turn, successful. I’ve taken to heart their episodes urging listeners to maintain a signature scent (I’m always complimented on mine, let me tell you!), become an expert on one thing, or make your life even more complicated in times of stress. Listening to Happier equates to reading self-help advice that’s actually helpful.
Under Cover by Spotify Studios
I listen to my podcasts on Spotify and lucky for me, the streaming giant has begun creating its own series! Under Cover features short episodes of musicians talking about their covers of songs. Recently, Brendon Urie talked about his exclusive cover of “Hey Ya!” by Outkast. It’s enlightening to learn why your favorite musicians choose certain songs to cover and what they do to make their own spins on classic jams.
Dr. Death by Wondery
Wondery was behind the hit podcast of last Fall, Dirty John. Dr. Death is their latest series revolving around a neurosurgeon who botched over 30 surgeries, sometimes killing patients or rendering them physically paralysed. This podcast is a fascinating revelation on how the medical system failed to protect its victims. You’ll be shocked at how this creepy neurosurgeon got away with his violent crimes for so long.
The Hilarious World of Depression by American Public Media
This podcast brings comedians to centerstage to joke about their experiences with mental illness. The Hilarious World of Depression is all about being transparent about how common depression is and how we can cope with it. From YouTube personality Hannah Hart talking about how depression has affected her entire life to in-depth episodes discussing adolescent mentally ill behavior, this podcast is perfect for anyone who wants to empathize with a bit of humor on the side.
The Daily by The New York Times
I used to get most of my news from late night comedy TV… until now. The Daily is a daily podcast from TNYT that tells you the most important news of the day. It’s 20 minutes of straight investigative news focused on a major topic of the day spanning international relations, the American government, entertainment and more. If you need a small daily dose of news to consider yourself well-informed, this is the podcast for you.
Pop Culture Happy Hour
It’s no question that NPR is one of the best podcast services around. There are podcasts for daily news (Up First) which will keep you informed on culture, breaking news, and politics and a podcast that breaks down how companies came to be for any business-savvy listeners (How I Built This). And we can’t disclude the ever popular This American Life which takes stories of humanity to another level. But one of my favorites is Pop Culture Happy Hour where the podcasters dissect the latest movies, TV shows, music and books hitting the zeitgeist. They also cap most of their episodes with short bursts of what pop culture moments are making them happy… at the moment.
Self-Help Less
If you need some LOLs, press play on this pod featuring comedy queens Delanie Fischer, Kelsey Cook, and Taylor Tomlinson who speak at length each episode on whatever self-help topics float their boat. The podcast has been featured on The Tonight Show and Conan. Each lady focuses on their own expertise including beauty and relationship advice. It’s a casual conversation amongst funny ladies with potty-mouths and an entertaining, yet semi-helpful (ha!) listen.
Check out these podcasts and tons more on your favorite listening apps!
