Over the light-years measure of our solar system, only Earth is known for now to be bound to live — having its suitable place to have an equal light beamed by the sun. In the need of every organism living on this planet, oxygen, the life-giving constituent, is a vital element for us to survive. The forests are consisting of oxygen-producing plants and trees. What if the case of deforestation has extremely increased amidst movement?

On the 20th day of August 2019, the Amazon forest has been reported burning for three (3) consecutive weeks all over the media. The said forest is known to be the lungs of the Earth: producing twenty percent (20%) of the world's oxygen and giving sustainable habitats to different organisms for them to live in. Keeping environmental sustainability is the endless procurement of the world, especially for this forest — the hope of humankind.

Due to the conflagration of the Amazon forest, the humanity of everyone has been challenged. "Where are the billionaires?! Will they make action for this?!" — the questions that alarmed the netizens. The business people are benefitting from the resources of the forest but when it needed their help they seemed to be out of nowhere. The news about this destructive wildfire even came out globally when it already destroyed a massive measure of land.

A greater issue came out in the middle of a catastrophe. It is said to be the fault of Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro who promotes the slash-and-burn method (a process wherein the farmers cut and burn trees to make fertile soil, yet negatively affecting the Earth's environment) of deforesting the forest to establish cattle ranches. He even rejected the concerns and entries of other countries to the issue because he suggested that the making of this international alliance to save the Amazon compromised an onset to the country's sovereignty. In his interview, he said that he was known as "Captain Chainsaw" and now he labeled himself as "Nero", the greek emperor who mercilessly caused and watched his people burn amid a blaze.

The battle for keeping environmental sustainability is an eternal war for survival. It is something that we get as a prize as we gamble our lives for it; because the life of the environment means the life of people, if it ends its span then humankind will be freely served to death since we are strung upon to its resources. Facing this tremendous environmental degradation looks hard to be beaten, but if we all believe, have faith, and be brave enough to defeat it like how David fearlessly slingshot Goliath, then we can end this struggle. That is why people are asking what they can do to help in fighting this herculean journey of the human race. Better think of it, discipline starts within YOU (Your Overflowing Union with humanity and nature)!

Okay, okay, okay, but holiday destinations for the AOT team...

I think Levi would love my country the UK for the tea we have here, but also maybe China or Japan. I can see him doing a tea country run, but he'd stay in very nice hotels with you because he needs things to be clean.

Hange I could see loving Scotland in the UK or Greece because of the history in both places. They'd freak out about the place and want to have battles.

Mike would for Germany, Norway, Finland etc somewhere he can drink good beer and eat meat.

Erwin gives me history vibes, so Italy or Greece for the development history and he'd love the cool battle plans that the Greeks and Romans did. Mostly Cyprus because of the battles there.

Levi - I looked up countries that serve the best tea, those were all up there! Sri Lanka and some others I wouldn't have though of are up there too. There are tea tours you know!

Erwin - Italy sounds right. Rome maybe, to see The Colosseum, or The Pantheon.

Hange - Them in Scotland, I can imagine how excited everything would get them. I bet they'd ask people to say something else just to hear the accent. And once they hear about the Loch Ness? They have to find out!

Miche - Oktoberfest in Munich. He's having the time of his life! Is out and about for at least one entire week of the festivities!

Eren - I just think Brazil for some reason. The beaches and the yearly festival held in Ipanema sound right up his alley. Also, Soccer fan?

Mikasa - goes where Eren goes no, China perhaps? Maybe Beijing and The Summer Palace or walking the Great Wall, or Shanghai and shopping at Nanjing Road.

Armin - Like the blonde commander before him, I think he'd like Italy as well. Specifically Vatican City and seeing the Sistine Chapel. Or maybe Venice with all the waterways.

Jean - I'm sticking with France here. He'd probably try to learn more about cooking and expand his skills. Maybe goes to the film festival, flirts with the ladies, asks if he can paint there picture.

Sasha - The country/continent of Australia! Visits the Great Barrier Reef and goes surfing at Bondi Beach. Tastes kangaroo meat for the first time. (no one shoot the vegetarian plz!)

Connie - possibly tags along to Australia and uses the lingo all the time. Or, maybe South America? Uruguay I'm thinking. Again, soccer fan, beaches, trying asado, really enjoying the culture.

Historia - Braves Sweden in Winter. Sees the Northern Lights, sleeps in an ice hotel, is thriving in the cold! Ymir of course goes too!

It's late at night when you suddenly feel more in love with your husband Jean Pierre Polnareff than you maybe ever have. You both sit together in the living room of your small home in Italy, him on the couch and you on a comfortable chair near the record player in the corner of the room. All night, you've been playing record after record of the most soothing, lovely music you think you've ever heard. There's something about the music, and the lighting, and the perfectly content look on Jean's face that makes you fall completely and utterly in love with him all over again. And it's at this moment that you know you have to hold him.

For some reason, you don't just jump up and wrap your arms tightly around him. Instead, you fold your arms over your chest. "It's cold in here, huh?"

Jean glances over at you, raising an eyebrow. "What?"

You shrug, discreetly putting forth your best puppydog eyes. "I'm just cold, that's all. Aren't you?"

He shrugs right back, adjusting the collar of his shirt and leaning back a bit. "Not particularly."

You didn't think it would be this difficult. You lean forward and unconsciously raise your voice a hair. "Come on, you have to be freezing. Look at all the snow outside!"

Jean peeks out of the window beside him, and you nearly laugh at his surprised expression. "I've never seen this much snow in my life," he murmurs, watching the heavy snowflakes drift from the sky. "I guess you're right. It is a little cold in here."

"Well..." You stand up from your seat by the fireplace and join Jean on the couch. "What do you say we do to get warm?"

He rolls his eyes, and you laugh. "You did all that just to drop a cheesy pick-up line? You're ridiculous." He leans down and kisses your forehead, resting his hand on your waist as he does. "But to answer your question..." He places a hand on his chin in thought, and you snort at the mockingly serious look on his face. "I'm not sure, maybe - " Suddenly, the concentration on his face breaks, and you both dissolve into giggles.

"Just hold me, Jean," you murmur, and he sighs as he wraps his arms around you. You rest your head gently on his shoulder, and you smile when you feel his hands come around to sit delicately on your lap. One of your hands finds its way to the nape of his neck, and you absentmindedly play with the loose strands of hair that have managed to escape their immaculate styling.

"You're so sweet, you know that?" he whispers in your ear, and you laugh a little under your breath. "It makes me so happy to be able to hold you - that you even want me to hold you."

"Of course I do, Jean," you reply softly, not turning to meet his eyes. "All I ever want is to be with you, you know that." He just sighs in return, and you shut your eyes. You feel as warm as you ever have with his arms around you, with his heart so close to yours.

"You know, I started to doubt that we'd ever be able to do this," he says. "Back on the trip to Egypt. I was convinced I was going to die in that last battle."

You wince when you remember exactly what he's talking about. During the last couple weeks of your crusade with Joseph Joestar and his group, Jean had grown extremely paranoid and generally depressed. You had shared those feelings, of course - you all knew there was a good chance that you wouldn't make it through the confrontation with Dio. Still, it was unimaginably scary to have to grapple with that knowledge every day and force yourselves to keep pressing on. Jean was really the only person that kept you sane during that time; despite both of your fears, you each tried to put on a brave face and have as much fun as you could before the inevitable battle.

"It was tough. Yeah, it - I was scared too." You tilt your head a bit and press a soft kiss to his neck, just above his collarbone. He hums lowly in agreement. "But hey, we don't have to talk about that... We're here now. We made it." You smile, looking up and meeting Jean's gaze. "I mean look at us! We're in Italy, and we're in love. Can you believe it?"

He laughs, and you laugh along with him. "Honestly, sometimes I can't believe it. I had dreamt of it so many times, and to hear you say you felt the same way for me as I did for you - it really was like a dream come to life." You feel your face flush, and you look back down; no matter how long you've been with Jean, you'll always be a little flustered by the unabashedly romantic nature of his praise for you. "I really mean that, you know," he tells you, voice steady as he brings his arm back and places his hand underneath your chin. He gently tilts your head up and looks you straight in the eyes. "You were all I dreamed of. You're still all I dream of."

You feel like you're floating. His blue eyes are impossibly strong and you're really getting lost in them. You watch as his lips turn up into a little smile, and he moves his hand from your chin to the nape of your neck. "I love you, (Y/N)," he whispers as he slowly shuts his eyes. You lean in and gradually your eyes slide shut as well, and after a brief moment, your faces resting inches apart, Jean pushes forward and kisses you.

His lips are soft, and his hand on the nape of your neck moves to run through your hair. A quiet, nearly inaudible hum leaves you as Jean pulls you flush against him. You nearly start smiling as Jean kisses you; you're sure he can feel it. Sure enough, he parts from you and gazes down at your grin through his eyelashes. "I love you," he breathes, starting to smile himself. "I love you," he repeats as he tilts his head and presses a kiss to the small space between your jaw and your neck.

"I love you too, Jean," you sigh in response. "I love you so much." He looks up at you and nods just slightly. You really don't know how else to show him just how much he means for you - how much he does for you every day. You place your hands on either side of his face and press a short kiss to his lips. "You're the love of my life, Jean, and I'm so grateful that I get to spend every day with you."

This time, it's him who's struck speechless by your words. He looks at you for a little while, and as you pull your hands back from his face, you notice that his eyes are starting to well up with tears. "Oh, Jean," you murmur, hugging him tightly. He melts into your arms, and you rub circles into his back. He's always been the emotional one between the two of you.

You spend a while like that, with your arms around him, until he leans back and takes your hands in his. "We should go to bed," he says, and he brings your right hand to his lips and presses a kiss to your knuckles.

"Yeah." Despite how extremely comfortable you are at the moment, you stand up. After quickly helping Jean into his wheelchair, you both make your way into the bedroom. You instantly climb into bed; you're really too tired to do much else. As Jean lies down beside you, you roll over and rest your head against his shoulder. "Good night," you whisper, reaching down and lacing your fingers in his.

"Good night, (Y/N)," he responds softly. You glance up at him just as he shuts his eyes, and in an instant, he's asleep. He must have been really tired.

You take a moment to just admire him before going to sleep yourself. He looks a lot like he did back in 1987 - he still has a sharp jaw and a strong, defined nose. But he's changed over the years. His eyes seem deeper somehow, and he can't seem to rid himself of the dark circles that surround them. He looks more and more tired by the day - but you're sure you do too. That's the price you two have to pay for having the powers you have. It's a cruel twist of fate, but you can't be too mad; if it weren't for your stands, you never would've met.

With that thought, of how unbelievably grateful you are that you met him, you drift off, holding Jean's hand even as you fall asleep. It's just like he said - he's all you dream of.

The Immortal Swordsman Reborn

SSSS.DYNAZENON: Fuuma explains that Kano had a.ways been cheerful, but she became more withdrawn prior to her death, which is believed to be due to someone called Futaba, Yume never heard of him, he had been club vice president and started dating Kano, and after her song was picked she may have been bullied by other girls, and agrees to share some other videos from the time with Yume. She tells the team she wants to learn more about Kano. Juugabis now willing to kill the team in Order to get Gauma back, Mujina has no opinion of her own and Sizumu is against killing them, believing Dynazenon is the reason kaiju keep appearing. Koyomi meets again with Inamoto-san, recalling him running away after she showed him a hidden bag she'd found, before their table is joined by Arata, her husband, and spend several hours talking, Ararat keeps getting his surname wrong. In Koyomi's room, Chise finds a white seed. Koyomi by chance runs into Mujina. Yomogi and his mother dine with Kamijo again, trying to ignore the conversation. At a bar, Mujina apparently paying, Koyomi moans about Inamoto-san leading him on with her complaints about marriage but then inviting Arata, Mujina says she herself has no wants for herself, which Koyomi relates to, at home Chise continues to brood. Yume gets sent a link for a video of a questionable prank on Kano, arguably bullying, which Kanae was the ringleader of. As Koyomi continues stewing, Mujina spots DynaStriker next to him. Yume thinks in class while watching Ranka and Kaneishi tease Yomogi. Chise decides to train in place of a hungover, who realises he's lost DynaStriker, Gauma is naturally furious, and Koyomi realises Mujina took it. Onija wants to use it to rampage, Juuga wants it to bargain with Gauma, Sizumu wants to return it, asking what Mujina wants. Gauma is able to use DynaDiver to track it, Yume rejects help from Yomogi, and the argument continues to Mujina's annoyance as Gauma and Koyomi arrive, Chise sneakily followed. Koyomi charges in and tackles Mujina, enabling Gauma to grab DynaStriker, his attack attempt fails. Sizumu asks if Yume is okay, then passes Yomogi as he leaves, the pair soon get called. The current Kaiju, Bullbind is not responding to Onija's attempts to Instance Domination, Sizumu convinces Mujina it needs her, and she awakens the enormous quadraped, shared with Onija. Gauma is bothered by the whole team seeming depressed before they jump into action. Dynazenon is helpless against Bullbind's gravity manipulation, and as Mujjna asks if that's all they've got even Onija notices a character change in her. The pilots sans Gauma are also crushed under the weight of their worries, but Gauma is able to pull through and switch to DynaRex, but even then it's hopeless against Bullbind. As Sizumu senses something, from the sky appears a purple giant. I definitely expected a guest appearance from at least somebody from SSSS.GRIDMAN before the end, we know that Gridman, and now the Assist Weapons can appear in various worlds. But the fact that it's GridKnight appearing, maybe we're in Akane's world after all?

Heroes' Odyssey: Z joins Zero while Haruki is asleep, and tells him about Ultroid Zero, and the reaction of Kaiju to it, the 3 way battle between Z, Juggler and Celebro, Ultroid Zero's rampage, it's evolution into Destrudos and defeat of Z, followed by the beginning of STORAGE's operation against it.

Saber: The Northern Base members regroup. Kento notes that minor details of the future are changing, but the end remains the same, this time there's a vision of Sophia seemingly deliberately taking Luna's place in the spell tight before the world is unmade. Master Logos orders the Shindais to watch Touma and capture Luna should she appear, and hints he may release Bacht, which Ryoga is against. As soon as the siblings leave he releases Bacht, refusing to give him the Book of Ruin, but offering him the chance for revenge on the Swordsmen, Bacht is intrigued by how different he is from past Masters. Saber and Saikou duel, Touma hoping to recreate the conditions to see Luna, but while Rekka glows, Wonder Story doesn't react. Bacgt arrives, Yuri stating his intent to seal him again. Saber and Falchion fight, Reika watching at a distance, when Touma's books, Rekka and Wonder Story all react Falchion takes note and stops, intrigued that Touma is the chosen one. The void opens again, but again vanishes before Touma or Reika can do anything. Rintaro, Ogami and Daishinji look for Ren. Yuri explains that he, Bacht and another were Swordsmen, until one day in a battle against Megiddo, one of their own killed Bacht's family, causing him to lose himself, believing humans would always betray one another and so sought to end the world, leading Yuri to wield Saikou and Kurayami against him. Ryoga confronts Rintaro, who is able to use his new abilities to counter Kaiji's time ability, when Falchion arrives, initially fighting Durandal until he flees, he then survives Blades to backstab, preparing to kill as Touma, Mei, Yuri arrive. Bacht tells Touma he'll become more powerful and destroy everything, something Kento affirms on arrival, Yuri admonishes his lack of faith in Touma, leading Bacht to call him a hypocrite, Yuri acknowledging he had not had faith in humanity before meeting Touma. Jaou Dragon battles Eternal Phoenix, soon joined by X Swordman and Elemental Dragon, Saikou asks Caliber to help seal Bacht, but he refuses, and a finisher from Caliber and Falchion strikes Saikou, who expresses his envy of Kento for the faith Touma has in him before vanishing, leaving Saikou and his books. Caliber does prevent Falchion from attacking Saber, but in the confusion Reika manages to steal Saikou, Kin no Buki, Gin no Buki and X Swordman. As Saber and Caliber face Falchion, Touma's emotions flair, causing the reaction of his books again, and as they defeat Falchion, Luna appears behind the Swordsmen, returned at last.

Zenkaiger: As part of his promise, Zox is making the others pay for things, he spots Mahiru World and chases, a squad of Kudakks holding the Zenkaigers save Zyuran and Kaito. When Mahiru World takes a hostage, Zox doesn't care, Kaito arriving uses Megaranger to Cyber Slider in to save the hostage. An annoyed Kaito chases Zox onto CrocoDaiOh, demanding explanations until a frustrated Flint shows a picture of the Goldtsuikar family, with Riki and Katana as humans. Flint was able to reverse engineer Tojitendo tech so they could travel between worlds, and while they were in SDtopia the brothers got trapped in their current forms, and they can't get back to undo it because SStopia is now a Tojiru Gear, and they can't get into Kikaitopia to steal the gear, Kaito brings up his parents. Boccowaus is annoyed about Twokaiser still being a threat, Gefe trying to calm him, Barashitara believes an alliance is possible. The team discusses things, Zyuran and Magine don't know if they're worth worrying about. It's then people start noticing it's still noon, and start feeling the effects, still working well past they would normally, but the team doesn't realise anything is actually wrong until seeing a news report from Brazil, where it's also noon. Being in space, the Goldtsuikar's have been unaffected, but there are many lights in the sky. Zox hunts down Mahiru World, and fights him as Twokaiser, there being plenty of collateral damage as the Zenkaigers arrive, saving civilians from rubble. Zox thinks this risk of life is stupid, risking never finding his family. As Twokaiser uses Shinken Form, the Zenkaigers change, taking deflected bullets, but still defend the crowd. Switching to Ohren Form, he uses he Choriki Star Knuckle to finish Mahiru World, restoring night. Dai Mahiru World summons way more suns, now the light is blinding, Magine flips out and has ZenkaiOh VrooMagine form, Kaito at the control is barely awake, they darken the sky briefly, but sun viewing glasses do the thing, allowing them to finish things. Everyone falls asleep, Zox fells Flint to leave them as long as they don't get in the way.

Dogengers Nice Buddy: Maid Shitsuji wakes Tanaka up, and shows that Yamashiron and Fukuokaliber have gone to a Great Z show, Ohgaman grabs various items for a day out and drags Tanaka off, nobody noticing he's left his changer. The show is pretty formulaic, Great Z fighting some Karamis, until right as Great Z is meant to get his heroic wind there's the sudden arrival of Yamashiron Kugakusei Mode, inserting himself in the role of the Villain. Aoiron and Daidairon give advice or rebuke, causing I believe Yamashiron to mentally apologise to Midoiron, and then Fukuokaliber appears to highjack the hero spot. Tanaka and the disguised Ohgaman are confused on arrival, Fukuokaliber making a point about heroism to Yamashiron, using the crowd to do so. Gulf appears via Affect System, evidently mid attack on Kitaqman, and is shot by Fukuokaliber. The pair leap into battle, Yamashiron demonstrating his specially modified Nice Buddy gun, Gallia attends to his brother, wondering how they got there. In flashback, immediately after they were teleported away, Great Z admonished El Brave and Kitaqman's heroics while beating them, after knocking down El Brave he gives Kitaqman the chance to fight, expecting him to run, Kitaqman instead relates El Brave's backstory. Great Z gives El Brave some acknowledgment, and an emboldened El Brave fights with all his might, grabbing El Brave, Kitaqman shoots and destroys a drone, thanks to switching with El Brave. Great Z is about to fight harder when he gets a call, and warps all 3 of them. Kitaqman and El Brave appear right next to Fukuokaliber and Yamashiron, while Great Z appeared nearby, next to the Great Z onstage, who he turns to face.

The Insanity of Sustainability “Only the Dead Have Seen the End of War” – Plato. This wisdom is as valid today as it was 2,500 years ago. Wars go on and on. They are exactly the anti-dote of sustainability. They may be the only “sustainability” modern mankind knows – endless destruction, killing, shameless exploitation of Mother Earth and its sentient beings, including humans. Yes, we are hellbent towards “sustainably”, destroying our planet and all its living beings, with wars and conflicts and shameless exploitation of Mother Earth – and the people who have peacefully inhabited her lands for thousands of years. All for greed, and more greed. Greed and destruction are certainly “unsustainable” features of our western “civilization”. Not to worry, in the grand scheme of things, Mother Earth will survive. She will cleanse herself by shaking and shedding off the destroyers, the annihilators – mankind. Only the brave will survive. Indigenous people, who have abstained from abject consumerism and instead worshipped Mother Earth and expressed their gratitude to her daily gifts. There are not many such societies left on our planet. In the meantime, we lie about the sustainability we live in. We lie to ourselves and to the public at large around us. We make believe sustainability is our cause – and we use the term freely and constantly. Most of us don’t even know what it is supposed to mean. “Sustainability” and “sustainable” anything and everything have become slogans; or household words. Such buzz-words, repeated over and over again, are made for promoting ideas, and for bending people’s minds to believe in something that isn’t. We pretend and say that we work sustainably, we develop – just about anything we touch – sustainably, and we project the future in a most sustainable way. That’s what we are made to believe by those who coined this most fabulously clever, but untrue term. It is the 101 of a psycho-factory. As Voltaire so pointedly said, “Those who can make you believe absurdities; can make you commit atrocities.” Sustainability. What does it mean? It has about as many interpretations as there are people who use the term – namely none specific. It sounds good. Because it has become – well, a household word, ever since the World Bank invented, or rather diverted the term for “sustainable development” in the 1990s, in connection, first, with Global Warming, then with Climate Change – and now back to both. Imagine! – There was a time at the World Bank – and possibly other institutions, when every page of almost every report had to contain at least once the word “sustainable”, or “sustainability”. Yes, that’s the extent of insanity propagated then – and today, it follows on a global scale, more sophisticated – the corporate world, the mega-polluters make it their buzz-word – our business is sustainable, and we with our products promote sustainability – worldwide. In fact, sustainable, sustainable growth, sustainable development, sustainable this and sustainable that – was originally coined by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit, the Rio Summit, the Rio Conference, and the Earth Summit – held in Rio de Janeiro from 3 to 14 June in 1992. The summit is intimately linked to the subsequent drive on Global Warming and Climate Change. It exuded projections of sea level risings, of disappearing cities and land strips, like Florida and New York City, as well as parts of California and many coastal areas and towns in Africa and Asia. It painted endless disasters, droughts, floods and famine as their consequence, if we – mankind – didn’t act. This first of a series of UN environment / climate summits is also closely connected with the UN Agendas 2021 and 2030. The UN Agenda 2030 incorporates or uses as main vehicle – the 17 “Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)”. In a special UN Conference in 2016, Bill Gates was able to introduce into the 16th SDG “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”, the 9th of the 12 sub-targets – “By 2030, provide legal identity for all, including birth registration.” This is precisely what Bill Gates needs to introduce digital IDs – most likely injected via vaccines, beginning with children from developing countries – i.e. the poor and defenseless are time and again used as guinea pigs. They won’t know what happens to them. First trials are underway in one or several rural schools in Bangladesh – see this and this. These 17 sustainable development goals, are all driving towards a Green Agenda, or as some prominent “left” US Democrat-political figures call it, the New Green Deal. It is nothing else but capitalism painted Green, at a horrendous cost for mankind and for the resources of the world. But it is sold under the label of creating a more sustainable world. Never mind, the enormous amounts of hydrocarbons – the key polluter itself – that will be needed to convert our “black” economy into a Green economy. Simply because we have not developed effective and efficient alternative sources of energy. The main reasons for this are the strong and politically powerful hydrocarbon lobbies. The energy cost (hydrocarbon-energy from oil and coal) of producing solar panels and windmills is astounding. So, today’s electric cars – Tesla and Co. – are still driven by hydrocarbon produced electricity – plus their batteries made from lithium destroy pristine landscapes, like huge natural salt flats in Bolivia, Argentina, China and elsewhere. The use of these sources of energy is everything but “sustainable”. See also Michael Moore’s film“Planet of the Humans”. Hydrogen power is promoted as the panacea of future energy resources. But is it really? Hydrocarbons or fossil fuels today amount to 80% of all energy used worldwide. This is non-renewable and highly polluting energy. Today to produce hydrogen is still mostly dependent on fossil fuels, similar to electricity. As long as we have purely profit-fueled hydrocarbon lobbies that prevent governments collectively to invest in alternative energy research, like solar energy of the 2nd Generation, i.e. derived from photosynthesis (what plants do), hydrogen production uses more fossil fuels than using straight gas or petrol-derived fuels. Therefore hydrogen, say a hydrogen-driven car, maybe as much as 40% – 50% less efficient than would be a straight electric car. The burden on the environment can be considerably higher. Thus, not sustainable with today’s technology. To enhance your belief their slogans of “sustainability”, they put up some windmills or solar cells in the “backyard” of their land- and landscape devastating coal mines. They will be filmed along with their “sustainable” buzz-words. *** The World Economic Forum (WEF) and the IMF are fully committed to the idea of the New Green Deal. For them it is not unfettered neoliberal capitalism – and extreme consumerism emanating from it, that is the cause for the world’s environmental and societal breakdown, but the use of polluting energies, like hydrocarbons. They seem to ignore the enormous fossil fuel use to convert to a green energy-driven economy. Capitalism is OK, we just have to paint it green (take a look at this). *** Let’s look at what else is “sustainable”- or not. Water use and privatization – Coca Cola tells us their addictive and potentially diabetes-causing soft drinks are produced “sustainably”. They tout sustainability as their sales promotion all over the world. They use enormous amounts of pristine clean drinking water – and so does Nestlé to further promote its number One business branch, bottled water. Nestlé has overtaken Coca Cola as the world number One in bottled water. They both use subterranean sources of drinking water – least costly and often rich in minerals. Both of them have made or are about to sign agreements with Brazil’s President to exploit the world’s largest freshwater aquifer, the Guarani, underlaying Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. They both proclaim sustainability. Both Coca Cola and Nestlé have horror stories in the Global South (i.e. India, Brazil, Mexico and others), as well as in the Global North. Nestlé is in a battle with the municipality of the tiny Osceola Township, Michigan, where residents complain the Swiss company’s water extraction techniques are ruining the environment. Nestlé pays the State of Michigan US$ 200 to extract 130 million gallons of water per year (2018). Through over-exploitation both in the Global South and the Global North, especially in the summer, the water table sinks to unattainable levels for the local populations – which are deprived of their water source. Protesting with their government or city officials is often in vain. Corruption is all overarching. – Nothing sustainable here. These are just two examples of privatizing water for bottling purposes. Privatization of public water supply on a much larger scale is at the core of the issue, carried out mostly in developing countries (the Global South), mainly by French, British, Spanish and US water corporations. Privatization of water is a socially most unsustainable feat, as it deprives the public, especially the poor, from access to their legitimate water resources. Water is a public good – and water is also a basic human right. On 28 July 2010, through Resolution 64/292, the United Nations General Assembly explicitly recognized the human right to water and sanitation and acknowledged that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realization of all human rights. The public water use of Nestlé and Coca Cola – and many others, mind you, doesn’t even take account of the trillions of used plastic bottles ending up as uncollected and non-recycled waste, in the sea, fields, forests and on the road sides. Worldwide less than 8% of plastic bottles are recycled. Therefore, nothing of what Nestlé and Coca Cola practice and profess is sustainable. It’s an outright lie. Petrol industry - BP with its green business emblem, makes believe – visually, every time you pass a BP station – that they are green. PB proclaims that their oil exploration and exploitation is green and environmentally sustainable. Let’s look at reality. The so far considered largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, was the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. It was a giant industrial disaster that started on April 20, 2010 and lasted to 19 September 2010, in the Gulf of Mexico on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect, spilling about 780,000 cubic meter of raw petroleum over an area of up to 180,000 square kilometers. BP promised a full cleanup. By February 2015 they declared task completed. Yet at least 60% of oil and tar along the sea shore and beaches have not been cleaned up – and may never be removed. – Where is the sustainability of their promise? Another outright lie. BP and other oil corporations also have horrendous human rights records – just about everywhere they operate, mostly in Africa and the Middle East, but also in Asia. The abrogation of human rights is also an abrogation of sustainability. In this essay BP is used as an example for the petrol industry. None of the petrol giants operate sustainably anywhere in the world, and least where water table-destructive fracking is practiced. Sustainable mining – is another flagrant lie. But it sells well to the blinded people. And most of the civilized world is blinded. Unfortunately. They want to continue in their comfort zone which includes the use of copper, gold and other precious metals and stones, rare earths for ever more sophisticated electronic gear, gadgets and especially military electronically guided precision weaponry – as well as hydrocarbons in one way or another. Sustainable mining of anything unrenewable is a Big Oxymoron. Anything you take from the earth that is non-renewable is by its nature not sustainable. Its simply gone. Forever. In addition to the raw material not being renewable, the environmental damage caused by mining – especially gold and copper – is horrendous. Once a mine is exploited in a short 30- or 40-years’ concession, the mining company leaves mountains of contaminated waste, soil and water behind – that takes a thousand years or more to regenerate. Yet, the industry’s palaver is “sustainability”, and the public buys it. In fact, our civilization’s sustainability is zero. Aside from the pollution, poisoning and intoxication that we leave around us, our mostly western civilization has used natural resources at the rate of 3 to 4 times in excess of what Mother Earth so generally provides us with. We, the west, had passed the threshold of One in the mid-sixties. In Africa and most of Asia, the rate of depletion is still way below the factor of One, on average somewhere between 0.4 and 0.6. “Sustainability” is a flash-word, has no meaning in our western civilization. It is pure deception – self-deception, so we may continue with our unsustainable ways of life. That’s what profit-bound capitalism does. It lives today with ever more consumerism, more luxury for the ever-fewer oligarchs – on the resources of tomorrow. The sustainability of everything is not only a cheap slogan, it’s a ruinous self-deception. A Global Great Reset is needed – but not according to the methods of the IMF and WEF. They would just shovel more resources and assets from the bottom 99.99% to the top few, painting the “new” capitalism a shiny bright green – and fooling the masses. We, The People, must take The Reset in our own hands, with consciousness and responsibility. So, We the People, forget sustainable but act responsibly.

The Legend Of Korra_Book One : “That’s Dark”

So reviewing TLOK made me not only caught up in the nostalgia of this wonderful and special animated show but also reflected on the journey not only from Korra but also from all Team Avatar.

 (Remembering that all this is just my opinion and some of the various interpretations that I have about the show)

 Book 1 is in my opinion the second best of TLOK and the darkest of all.

And reviewing I think I've noticed why.

Book One is the most "real" of all. All the problems there can be seen in the most different societies.

We have an ideological political clash in an environment where segregation between benders and non-benders is still a reality.

I think the whole atmosphere of Republic City is more dark , so at the very beginning we are introduced to those problems that I honestly think we can all understand. Fear of violence, lack of confidence in figures who hold power, a "savior" who appeals to the fear of this population and take's power, conspiracies for power, politics shit , social inequality , etc

Problems that are real at a international  level. I here in Brazil can feel and understand this in the same way as a person who whatch’s the show in Canada. I think 

Not to mention the urban colors and shades of grey and brown more saturated and not so bright (especially at night) , showing that the city is kind of a trap, something “Too good to be true." Its beautiful and scary at the same time.

So we have Korra, who in book one has 17 years (the same age as I when i started to watch the series) and as it is visible in her’s first moments, is that she has the “spirit of a kid”.

I think the expression "kid's mind in a Woman's Body" can define the Korra in Book One. She is naive, immature, spoiled, a bit arrogant, very self-confident, playfull...

I think it was one of the things that enchanted me in her and undoubtedly was what made me connect with her, because I was also, especially,  naive as she.

Korra comes with the glare for just being at Republic City, that childish naivete of thinking that everything will work fine, without consequences.

And it is precisely when she, for the first time, is confronted with the possible consequences of the  fight that she has just entered, she breaks. But before we talk more about Korra, let's talk about her nemesis here, Amon.

 Amon is a white and heterosexual man representing the patriarchy .... lmao im joking, or not...

Anyway, Amon ... The way he uses to subjugate and dominate his enemies, the violation he makes to achieve this ... I find it almost impossible not to parallel this with cases of sexual violence. Amom takes some of these people for himself, he forces something into them, they get devastated and depressed after losing the benders to him and also they look kinda of feeling humiliated by that.

So we have the terrible and beautiful  episode :"The Voice in the Night". Here we see  this 17 year old girl, absolutely terrified by the idea of ​​confronting this man who must be in his late 30′s.

I think that when Korra saw what Amon was capable of , it was the first time in her life when she felt truly afraid. And for us girls, being afraid of a man, especially when walking alone in the night , sadly still is a reality.

Anyway, going back to the show ...

After being coerced to fight on the front line against the Equalists for Tarrlok ( I will speak of him soon), Korra gains confidence and in her naiveness, invites Amon to a duel.

Amon not only arrives late as he is disloyal and does not come alone. An adult man ambushes a 17-year-old girl in a dark place with the help of his crew ... Man, this is dark ! And all the lighting and animation of the final scenes of the episode are excellent because it resembles more a horror story than a kid’s show.

The way they hold her on her knees, making her so small in comparation to him, who looks even more frightening. But not only this, because “be on knees” historically and culturally associated with submission and she was forced to be in that position. The way Amon holds her face makes it clear that the avatar was totally impotent since her rival had already crossed the “touch barrier” by touching her face.  The Touch for many people is something intimate and touch someone face is not only something more intimate but also associated with caring and love. And this motherfucker just crossed this line 

Amon accepted the challenge with the goal of destroying the Avatar independent of who she was. And thats terrible and scary, but also, so real for so many people.

After he leaves, Tenzin arrives and  ask if everything is okay and all. Korra then says that she still has her bendings and finally opens with him over her fears as she cries in his arms.

Then after, we have an episode more focused on love triangle and comedy. Cause its a kids show right?

 How will Korra deal with Amon now that she has already lost the first battle?

Honestly I dont think she overcame her fears there, I think she just buried them for the greater good that was defeating him. Something like “im scared as fuck but im gonna do it anyway”. And you need to be brave to do that

And after losing her bendings to the enemy in the final episode, when her worst nightmare comes true , she has nothing left to lose. And in desperation to save her friend and crush from going through what she had just been through, Korra discovers she can airbend. And this new wave of confidence makes her defeat Amon at his own game, exposing him as the fraud he is. But is that enough? I see later that she still suffering for losing all the other bendings, she’s still broken until Avatar Aang pass by to say “hey” and give her all the bendings back

Tarrlok is a character that I just did not like. And guys since he saw Korra, he directed all the attention to her.

Of course he wanted to use her to climb the ladder and take Republic City's political power for himself. But seriously ... I know that maybe you find yourself thinking "Damn, you will put sexual subtext and sexual interpretation where they do not have". But listen to me.

Tarrlok is an older man who does not accept Korra’s "no" for his partnership proposals.

Then we have the episode where her confrots him by the arrest of her friends. Of course Tarrlok used the bloodbend on her cause she was ready to burn his ass down.

And it is logical that he would disappear with her so she does not unmask him to everybody. Now, though it seemed like something got at the moment, Tarrlok had it all ready. The place where Korra would be taken  and where he kept her arrested .

Of course, the most obvious answer is that the place might have been prepared to receive Amon, though he did not know that he was a bender so he did not need that metal box because a normal cell would work, but with all that happened , Tarrlok had this change of plans. I think he may think that she could bring problems to his plans and the let this as plan B

But then an now unmasked and hunted by Republic City police force and just before Amon invades the place, he tells Korra that he will run away and that he will take her as his hostage.

But why? If he had hated her for ending his plans, he could just leave her there to die of hunger / thirst. Not to mention that, Korra would definitely fight and delay him in his escape, so why take her ?

Another thing, Amon wouldnt hurt Korra, he doesnt even saw her as a person, he only saw the symbol, the Avatar and that must be destroyed but all costs. Tarrlok in other hand wants to use the symbol but also know the person behind, he knows the 17old Korra and would hurt her if he has to.

The politics, the intimidation, the haressament, the fear, the power dinamics between those 3 characters...

Mako and Bolin do not have much development in book One . Mako is the love interest and Bolin is the comic relief.

 **

Asami has a very remarkable moment. She has to choose between her father and what is right.

And the Fire Ferrets certainly helped her in that choice. Especially Mako, Asami's mother was killed by benders, probably fire benders cause they kinda murder people parents sometimes, and Mako is a firebender. So relating to him might have knocked over all the rest of prejudice and anger she may have for benders until that.

This arc between Asami and her father is also about the loss of innocence. In that case, lose the innocence of thinking that our parents cant be bad people.

And even more, from then on, Asami is shaped much more like someone who makes right choices in difficult times, even if those choices are heart-breaking.

Tenzin leaves his comfort zone. He will train Korra, who is someone who almost totally contradicts who he is. And right away, we see that he is an excellent teacher. All your patience, your diplomacy is inspiring and will certainly help to make Korra the most conscientious and mature woman at the end of book four.

He also has tough choices, and shows himself steadfast in them, doing everything to protect his family and friends.

Lin, there's a moment I think is incredible. When she sacrifices herself to save Tenzin's family. Lin does not flee the fight. Just like her mother, she is determined in her goals. And we have more depth development  in Book 3.

Episode 27: Walter steps up his game and figures out a way to combine one of his robots with Golgon and the Braves are forced to go to drastic measures when they are nearly defeated

Episode 28: First part of a three-parter, Walter’s brother Serious enters the battle and everything becomes a lot more serious when the braves are defeated! ENTER GOLDEN GENERAL LEON AND KAISER!!!

Episode 29: Second part of the three-parter, Sharanla have stolen the power stones and is guarding them until she can give them to Walter, meanwhile, Serious springs his trap and Walters is suddenly aware of how his brother is there to replace him and not assist him.

Episode 30: Last part of the three-parter, Walter contemplates his options and when Serious and the boys finally catch up to him he has a big choice to make.

Episode 31: After resurrecting all the Braves the boys + Walter and Co. go to open up the path to Legendra, however, they are quickly stopped by Serious who’s taking one last effort to stop them.

Episode 32: The Braves goes to the first planet, Fantasion and will have to protect the peaceful people there against the Iron Country and the demon god Mgole!

Episode 33: Dran accidentally impregnates a lady and has four kids, things go down when the kids, the boys and the rest of the town gets abducted to be sent off as slaves. Luckily there’s a friendly shark looking out for them.

Episode 34: The Braves land on the next planet where Takuya manages to drop the masters underground, where they have to make a prison break and lead Joan, a civilian, up to see the surface for the very first time.

Episode 35: The origin of Captain Shark, the 9th and secret Brave. Sharanla and Gramps got fooled by Serious and ends up in the middle of the battlefield, luckily for them there’s an old friend there to save them. THE LAST BRAVE, CAPTAIN SHARK!!

Episode 36: The Braves are in trouble as Serious has finished calculating their stats and sends a robot to defeat them. But not all goes according to plan when Captain Shark shows up and proves who’s the most powerful Brave.

Episode 37: The Braves arrive on Legendra! But not everything is as it appears to be and soon they have to fight in order to make it off the planet!

Episode 38: The boys form a boy band and become idols from space, but every good thing must come to an end as Serious catches up to them.

Episode 39: Advenger falls ill with a deadly decease and it’s up to the Braves to retrieve the vaccine from Serious, who have manufactured a new and powerful robot. But Captain Shark has a trick up his sleeve like always and is ready to save the day!

Episode 40: The Braves lands on a planet inhabited entirely by kids and ends up in a war between brothers. Yikes.

Episode 41: In an attempt to get ahead of the Braves, Serious lands on the planet of Miradise where he ends up trapped in his own biggest dream. Here he must come to terms with what he truly wish for.

Episode 42: Serious lands ahead of the Braves on the next planet and is “taken in” by the survivors of a monster attack. Here he meets a girl who reminds him a little too much of his mother and what’s this? Does this boy have a heart!?

Episode 43: The boys are completely convinced that Serious is not as bad as he seems... but then he tries to blow up another planet while they’re still on it, luckily the Braves are able to unlock a new super weapon!

Episode 44: The Braves are locked out from Legendra by an impenetrable gate, they need Serious to cooperate to be able to break through, but is a truce really a good idea?

Episode 45: Walter goes to confront his brother about his actions and the Braves rushes off to save him! However, as one thing leads to another Serious’ starship suffers heavy damage and everyone are forced to evacuate, everyone but one.

Episode 46: First part out of three. The true antagonist is revealed and as the boys wish for Serious to have a change of heart he gets one last chance to redeem himself, one that is unfairly ruined and leaves the Braves in a heap of trouble. 

Episode 47: Second part out of three. As Serious tries to destroy Legendra the Braves unlock their true power in order to stop him and the boys once again board Serious’ robot to save him from himself. But as everything settles Death Mark has finally reached the Braves, threatening to destroy everything.

Episode 48: Final episode!! The Braves arrive on Legendra and the heroes have to make an important choice when it comes to the grand reward, but the adventure isn’t over yet because Treasure Walzac has just arrived!

He was the first one. A few minutes before everyone else, Tom Ellis called them, the fans, and with a tweet telling his true sadness, confirmed that Fox had cancelled Lucifer.

After his, a river flowed… The shocked showrunners – the 3 tweets sequentially written by Joe Henderson tell a lot of a real dismay. Cast, all of them  with a broken heart.

Though, it was a moment. Just a blink of an eye to shake off a tear looked out.

8 minutes after Tom’s tweet, even before Joe’s signal,  fans slammed their eyes – they could not be wet at that moment-  made a deep breath, stretched out their hands and, since that moment… They have never stopped tweeting. Never.

It would not be enough the space here on WordPress to show the enchant, the magic and the overflowing power of an event  that both Socials and TV series had never seen to happen. There have been other battles, oh if there have been any! In the last 20 years, fandom of one rather than another TV series have echoed more than once their roar of protest and non-resignation to a declared and marked destiny. With disparate results. However, Lucifer’s cancellation reaction tells a story never told before.

From 4pm EST on Friday 11 May, on Twitter and on the Internet there is no room for others but  Lucifer. Even now, as we write. And who knows how much longer. The 2 hashtags chosen, the first #savelucifer, at the battle cry launched at the news of the cancellation, the other #pickuplucifer about 15 hours later, when fans feared the first could lose visibility  – Not even fans were aware of their strength – the 2 hashtags echoed unstoppable on numbers that talk about more than 4M tweets for #savelucifer, 6.7M engagement, 2.9M for #pickuplucifer, with 4M engagement, the hashtag #Lucifer that –  not to disfigure – in 2 days brings back more than 1 million Tweets.

Tom Ellis is the second most typed name online after Donald Trump – call us Tom when you feel ready, and a #Tom4President is arranged in no time! – 5 Among names of showrunners and cast are among the 20 most typed of Twitter. Hours and hours, more than 5 days now,  on World Trends. A sequence of national Trends with the intensity of lightning during a summer storm: US, a lot, then Canada, Brazil, UK, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, France, and countless others. One night, on Monday, while the SEASON FINALE aired, no one will ever forget. At least none of those that were there. And we were so many. Really many.

Why, how can you forget that finale ?! How can you forget  40 minutes of television have managed to connect 3 years of stories and emotions, anxieties and trepidations, to collect them all under a pair of white and bleeding wings and then, momentum, everything back in flight to the future, tomorrow,next chapter to tell, next emotion to share. Together. If the fight to save Lucifer was a passionate but blind fight in the days before the finale, since Monday, it has become the unstoppable march of those who know that it is not over because it can not be over. Not this way. Not only for the consistency and validity of the plot put together by Modrovich and Henderson, or for the amazing cliffhanger built to project the audience directly to next moment, let alone next season. So far storyline has been unraveled so consistently, anyone can easily realize the road traveled so far is only part of the journey, nothing but distant from its proper end. It can not be over this way, mostly because of aspects maybe worthier than any practical or technical evaluation of Lucifer as a show.

The emotional reality created by the show, the empathic dimension in which all the involved subjects have found connection, from showrunners to cast, from crew to fans, has generated a wave of sharing – as emotions as goals – so unexpected and impetuous to shake the foundations of a system, speaking a new language, writing new rules. Because it’s not a protest that’s been setting up uninterruptedly since Friday. Those you read on cast and crew accounts are not fitting expressions, more a battle cry that resounds worldwide, echoing from people to people, protagonists or audience, everyone ignited by the same passion, the same certainty that there will be no end to the battle until there is a future for Lucifer. Never seen. It has never happened before.

Go to read Tom Ellis’ tweets: you will find a true leader. Read. Read them all, DB Woodside and Rachael Harris,Aimée Garcia and Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro and Lauren German, and Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson, brave warriors dressed in armor of passion and sensitivity, humor and sincerity. Go on Twitter and see how they were fearless and generous in leading an army of indomitable ones, ready to put their hearts at risk, ready to follow them to Hell, if necessary, to give Lucifer another day, another night at Lux.

They were not alone. Where reaction to Fox cancellation struck, it was,paradoxically, outside the sphere of “interest” related to Lucifer. Journalists, writers, influencers and bloggers have not hesitated to join the campaign to save Lucifer, tweeting alongside fans and cast, all of them writing meaningful words on show, giving space and voice to Tom, ILdy, Joe  and the other cast members. Scrolling through timeline of the two hashtags, it was surprising and exciting to see how many insiders, “colleagues” came in, siding in favor of the show.

Other fandoms, then. Oh, other fandoms … they brought  tears in our eyes. Nobody held back. Many, really many raised on the timeline to leave their help, maybe a single tweet, a single hashtag, but the strong legacy that no one understood reasons of Lucifer’s cancellation. Nobody agreed on it.

And nobody gave up in this 5 days of fight. Nobody ever thought of it. Nobody. Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson will survive this adventure with carpal tunnel for the hours spent online alongside the fans. Tom Ellis – that while we finish writing is fighting tooth and nail online on BBC spreading how much Lucifer is worth it – Tom, when this extraordinary battle he is fighting with pride and charisma of a true leader will be won, well …  he will sleep.

Lauren, Rachael, Lesley-Ann, Aimée, Kevin, DB will return to consider their phones harmless cells, no more weapons to fight for lives of their Chloe, Linda, Maze, Ella, Dan and Amenadiel.

Fans, well, even the fans will rest. It has been exciting to see them to interchange one another, to say good morning and goodbye, to take no more than 3 hours of sleep a night, then back online, there again, not just to post hashtags but to joke and to dream, together, resolute not to give up. No matter how long it will take. Lucifer deserves a new home. Script deserves a new blank sheet. The awareness that this adventure is nothing but another step on the way, another stage of the journey is truly strong in everybody’s heart.  Reading this awareness in the fans’ words, listening to it in Tom’s voice, it’s such an inspiration about value and meaning of sharing emotions and empathy…

But YOU, person in charge in the control room, why should you make a phone call to say you want to pick up Lucifer ?! Do not do it because the whole world has been screaming online since 5 days that is worth it. Do not do it to ensure the most powerful advertising campaign ever seen – the battle to #savelucifer is over on Wikipedia! – And do not do it because it’s free. Do not believe Tom Ellis, showrunners, Bruckheimer film’s producers who crazy tweeted alongside the fandom … Do not believe the journalists and influencers of the sector, but above all do not believe fans. What do they understand about television ?! They are not the ones that will crowd the lucky channel that will broadcast Season4!

You, person in the control room, do not listen to anyone. Simply, close the door of your office and take only 40  minutes, watch an episode. The first maybe, or even the last one, doesn’t matter.. What matters is what will happen next. You will be stunned because you will not understand how someone has thought of putting an end to such a good thing. But you will not be able to see your reasons or your convenience yet. It will not matter then. You will have gone further. And there will only be one thing you will want to do. To have an active Twitter account on your mobile phone to proclaim strongly Lucifer is worthwhile,  Lucifer must have a new home, history can not stay untold.

However you do not need a Twitter account. You just need to pick up your phone and do that  call. Because you too, like us, can not help but know what will happen to Lucifer tomorrow.

“Lúcio Correia dos Santos: you are one lucky man.”  The woman stood across from the overcrowded cell in which her cousin now sat.  Rio de Janeiro’s prisons were chronically full, the result of an overzealous police force combined with sweeping laws that made just about any aspect of poverty criminal.  Vishkar’s additions to those laws had only served to exacerbate the problem, and with none of their quality-of-life improvements anywhere in sight, no one could seem to figure out exactly why they had been given so much power in the first place.

“Isabella!  Well if you’re here I must be,” Lúcio responded as he stood up, careful to avoid any hands or toes that might be in the way.  “What brings you out here anyway?”

“You, obviously.  How’d you manage to get stuck in here?”

“Out past curfew, same as everyone else here.”

“You and I both know that’s not the full story.  Are you going to tell me now or am I going to have to come back with Avó?”

“All right, all right.  After you and Rosa left last night, some Vishkar goons showed up and started attacking people outside the warehouse.  I managed to get a lot of people out, but not enough.  So I turned myself in, gave everybody else a chance to get out.” Lúcio paused for a second, remembering the events of last night.  He wondered if Vishkar had actually provided any medical care for the people who got injured last night; none of them was in jail with him, but that didn’t really mean anything with the number of police lockups in the city.  Not even to mention that with how dark it had been, he wasn’t sure he could recognize any of them.  “How’s Rosa doing?”

“Okay.  Better every day, but still not great.  She’s fine physically, but I think she blames a lot of this on herself.  Something about not having been nice enough to Vishkar.”

“Any idea what she means by that?”

“Not a clue.  Some woman pulled her out of the fire after Calado’s office exploded.  There’s no way she would remember her though.  She was completely unconscious when the woman handed her to me.  Although she was wearing Vishkar colors.”

“Odd.  Rosa’s smart, though.  She’ll find a way to tell us.”

“That’s all we can hope for.  Anyway, I’m not just here to chat.”

“I figured as much.  What’s up?”

“A bunch of us came together and decided we needed to get you out.  The state will provide you a lawyer, but you’ll have to seek them out.  Which you can only do from the outside this building.”

“What?  No, no I can’t let you do that.  You need that money.  Much more than I do.  Besides, I’ve got good standing in the community, no judge will ignore that”

“It’s a good thing that enough people disagree with you that you’re still getting out of here.  We had to get a bondsman to pay for you; as soon as his check clears, you’re out of here.  Thought I’d come and let you know.”

“I-” Lúcio sighed.  “Thank you.”

“One last thing before I go.  I don’t know if you saw the news today, but it read something to the effect of ‘Fifteen Brave Officers Injured in Battle with Violent Protesters.’”

“Shit, really?  God, okay.  I’ll - I’ll figure something out,” Lúcio responded.

“Good.  I’ll see you around,” Isabella said, turning on her heel to leave.

Hours later, Lúcio had come no closer to deciding what exactly he was going to do.  Of course, he was finally out of that godforsaken cell, which helped his thought process significantly.

There were a few things of which he was certain.  First, that he could no longer afford to bribe the city’s officers.  Such bribes were always crowd-funded to some extent, and with most of the favela’s money having gone to a bondsman, there was just none left.  Second, that he could no longer raise money with street performances.  After all, it was effectively illegal with Vishkar’s influence over the city, regardless of the letter of the law.

That wasn’t to say that protest music would be completely ineffective.  If he somehow managed to get people listening globally, there would be enough pressure on Rio de Janeiro’s government that they would be forced to back down.  At least, that would be the ideal situation.  More likely than not, one of the more powerful countries would place an embargo on Brazil, and all of the country’s internal resources would immediately go to those who were wealthy enough to pay for them in bulk.  Even if there were any left after that, Vishkar would be more than happy to buy up the rest in some sick form of punishment.

The most likely scenario, though, was that he would write and publish whatever music he could, and it would have no effect at all.  After all, he had been writing his whole life, and nothing had come of it to date; why would this time be any different?

Lúcio did not get a chance to answer that question.  Instead, he froze in place as a grating shriek filled the air, replacing the content murmurs of the street.  Unable to move or even think for himself, he listened as an unnatural voice informed the people of the favela that curfew would be an hour early tonight, since violent factions within the city had taken advantage of the mayor’s generosity.  It was a matter of safety, the voice asserted; the mayor would not allow rioters to undo the carefully crafted order that Vishkar had brought.

The voice cut out as suddenly as it had begun, the only evidence of its existence in the stunned silence that suffocated the once vibrant street.  Worse still, Lúcio felt compelled to obey the voice, as though whatever had been affecting his thoughts were still in control.  It would certainly be easier to obey; he wouldn’t have to deal with the cops, the thugs, the stress, any of it.

Still, some part of him screamed out that he had to resist, that this wasn’t normal.

The sound of a small voice humming one of his songs broke Lúcio out of his stupor.  He still felt foggy, but at least his thoughts were – probably – his own now.  He looked around and saw the once lively crowd beginning to thin.  The small voice was gone now, lost to the oppressive silence that refused to go away.  In fact, where Lúcio had come to expect hundreds, even thousands of voices at a time, there were only the slight sounds of feet and shoes scuffing against the pavement and an incessant ringing in his ears.

“Wait, what time is it?” he asked to no one in particular.  He didn’t honestly expect anyone to answer him; there were enough people that each one would expect someone else to check.  He did expect the people around him to acknowledge that he had spoken, to offer him a glance, a touch, anything to show that they had heard him.

He received no such sign, however, and the only evidence that anyone was even aware of his existence was in the subtle way that they flowed around him without so much as a bump.

What’s… happening?

Was Vishkar’s tech really that powerful?  Enough to take complete control of so many people?

It was clear that someone had to do something.  And given that Lúcio was the only one who seemed to be awake right now, it would have to be him.  But what would he do?  He could take it, but then what?  He couldn’t keep it, it was too powerful for anyone to have.  He could destroy it, but Vishkar would just rebuild it.

Would it be right to use it to convince the people to rebel?  Knowing they would have little choice in the matter?  What if he only gave them a little nudge?  A slight push towards what he knew to be the right decision?

Of course, that wasn’t the right answer either.  These people trusted him, and he wouldn’t betray that trust by deciding for them.

However, there was one potential solution that might actually work out: reversing its effects to repel mind control.  Vishkar would almost certainly rebuild its amplifiers, but that didn’t mean they were infallible.  And although there wasn’t any evidence that they did anything other than mess with people’s heads, Lúcio was willing to bet that, given enough time, he could reverse the effects.

Well, I guess I’m about to find out.

India and Jordan 10 countries will be represented at “Brave 20: India” at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on December 22, 2018. It is the second event of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation to take place in India.

“Brave 20: India” will feature nine MMA matches. The third bout of the evening will be a battle between Abdul “The Cutman” Muneer, 33, of Kozhikode, Kerala, India and Ali “The Royal Fighter” al-Qaisi, 28, of Amman, Jordan.

Al-Qaisi studied Accounting and Finance at Jami’at Al-Ulum Al-Tatbiqiya in Shafa Badran, Amman, Jordan from 2009 to 2012. As an MMA fighter, he has been competing professionally since 2015.

A wushu stylist, Al-Qaisi is training out of Phuket Top Team Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp in Phuket, Thailand. He is making his Brave CF debut at “Brave 20: India,” which marks his ninth professional MMA bout.

Muneer is a former National Kickboxing Champion and a seven-time Kerala State Boxing Champion. He has been competing as a professional MMA fighter since 2012.

“Brave 20: India” marks Muneer’s third Brave CF bout. He is coming out of two consecutive losses in the promotion.

When Troops Flee or Are Routed in Battle, It Is the Fault of The General

Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and THE MEN OF ISRAEL FLED FROM BEFORE THE PHILISTINES, AND FELL DOWN SLAIN in mount Gilboa.

And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines SLEW JONATHAN, AND ABINADAB, AND MALCHISHUA, SAUL’S SONS.

In this account, the children of Israel fled from their enemies, the Philistines.  The armies of Israel were routed in battle.  Saul was wounded and died in the battle.  Saul’s sons were killed.  These events always happen together:  a captured general and a fleeing army.  

A fleeing army is a pathetic sight.  Often, the fleeing army perceives that it is about to experience total destruction.  In fear and terror, they turn around and run for their very lives.  Strong mighty men who could have fought, are convinced that there is nothing better to do than to escape the onslaught.  But always remember:  when troops flee or are routed in battle, it is the fault of the general.  

Four Reasons Why Troops Flee

1. Troops flee or are routed because the general has not motivated them enough.  

When the generals in the church do not even mention the importance of sacrifice, missions or evangelism, why would any of the troops be motivated to go out?  It is the fault of the pastors and bishops that the troops are running away from true missions.  

2. Troops flee or are routed because the general does not set a good example by fighting in the full view of all the other soldiers.  

The absence of the general makes the soldiers wonder what they are fighting for.  When the general himself is full of fear to do the works of God, how and why should the troops do anything?  If the general needs to have a five-star hotel with an Olympic swimming pool and a special gym before he can go out to fight, why should the troops go out and do anything dangerous?  If the generals are afraid to have a vaccination against a tropical disease or even receive one mosquito bite in a tropical country, why would the troops venture into the tropical world to preach the gospel?  

3. Troops flee or are routed because the general has surrendered or been captured by the enemy.  

If the generals are in the captivity of the devil, living in sin, bondage, immorality, homosexuality, how can they speak out from behind their prison walls?  This is the reason why many of the generals are silent.  Many ministers of the gospel are in prison and in the captivity of the devil.  They are unable to preach and speak out from the point of captivity.  

4. Troops flee or are routed because the general has been killed.  

All troops know that the destruction of the general heralds their own destruction.  When the general is spiritually dead to God and has no living communication with his Father, how will he hear the voice of the Spirit saying, “go into all the world and preach the gospel”?

In the church today, the troops are routed and flee the mission field.  The mission fields of the world lie empty and waiting for Christian soldiers to march there.  Few people are really doing evangelism.  If you suggest certain places or countries for missions, people will reject them.  

Where are the brave Christians of yesteryear who used to leave the shores of England, Switzerland and America to the ends of the world to preach the gospel till they died?  

Where are the brave American Christians who came to live in Ghana, Nigeria, Malaysia and Brazil when there were no mobile phones or internet for communication?  

Where are all those types of Christians today?  I have been to many countries and seen the fruits of the missionaries.  I have personally seen the works of American missionaries in Colombia, Panama, Paraguay, Malaysia, Malawi, Ghana and Nigeria.  These brave American missionary soldiers travelled out of their American comfort zone just to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to others.

But today, such troops have fled.  They cannot be found on any mission field any more.  Yes, there are American television transmissions everywhere but there are no soldiers on the ground.  Why is this?  

When troops flee the battle or are routed it is the fault of the general.  The missionaries have fled the battlefield because many of the generals are captured by the enemy and are living in sin and captivity.  

Because they live in sin they cannot preach the true hard gospel of repentance and sacrifice.  

The troops are fled because they are not sufficiently motivated by the generals of today’s church.  

When Christians are no longer ready to go on missions to die for the Lord and to give up their lives, it is because of the pastor.  As pastors, our teachings are seeds.  We cannot expect a harvest of something that we did not sow.  The Scripture teaches, “You are God’s garden.”  If the church is full of immature, selfish, self-centred Christians who are willing to do absolutely nothing for God, it is the fault of the pastor.  

The generals of today’s church are preaching messages of the good life and giving promises of a better life today. The generals of today are not preaching about sacrificing our lives for missions.  Neither are they sending any troops anywhere to do anything.  

Because eternity is not spoken about there is no reason to give ourselves to eternal works. Today’s Christians are earthly-minded and oriented towards worldly achievement.  This is the fault of the general who has not sufficiently motivated the troops to go out and give their lives for a good cause.  

The generals of today’s church are often softies who cannot preach about sacrifice or sin.  

Many of the generals themselves are in hiding, afraid to do many of the works of God themselves.  Many of today’s generals and pastors live in fear and lack the courage to go out and do anything that is dangerous.  

Today’s generals will ask, “Is there a five-star hotel there?”

Is it safe?  What is the weather like?  Do I need any vaccinations?

What is security like? Is there a swimming pool? How large is the pool?

Is there a gym? Is there a sauna? Is there a French restaurant?

Do they have Thai food? Is there air conditioning?

Dear friend, most of the world does not have these things.  Because the church is being led by such captured, dead or fearful generals, it cannot and does not send troops to the battlefield.
