I just unlocked a new fantasy:
Imagine taking a bunch of sleeping meds or beta blockers and studied. Medically, I’m kept awake and alive, but barely. I’m awake so I know what’s going on in the moment, but I’m too tired to understand how I got here or who’s studying me.
My heart is beating extremely slowly. It’s the slowest I’ve heard it beat in my life, or anyone’s heart, to be honest. It’s maybe 30 or 20 bpm. If I weren’t being monitored, I know it would eventually slow to a stop. But it’s beating on, despite the drugs I’ve been given.
Eventually, I feel someone’s fingers on me. I’m too tired to open my eyes and see who, but they gently caress my chest and press on my heart. I feel it race slightly faster. They eventually make their way down further, pushing their fingers into me and slowly pumping them in and out. My heart rate immediately rises.
As they quicken their pace, my heart feels like it’s racing. It’s only beating at around 55 bpm, but my body is so tired and over exerting itself that it feels like I’m struggling to breathe. Soon, I feel something else get pushed inside of me. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but the excitement of it pushes my heart to 70 bpm. Again, it’s slow, but at this point my nervous system is on the brink of shutting down. My body feels cold and almost numb as it’s struggling to keep my heart pumping.
Suddenly, after my heart reaches 80 bpm and begins to skip, I feel nothing inside me. My heart is tripping over itself, but starts to come down after a few minutes. My shallow breathing returns to normal, and my heart rate returns to about 25 bpm. I fall asleep, feeling it slow even more, but I know I’m being kept alive as a test subject again.

Hello disabled friends, drop your disability amazon/online finds here - I'm talking anything that helps you with your disabilities, even if it just comforts you. I know it's hard to find things, and I figured we can all help each other out.
I'll go first - the pulse oximeter I have is currently on sale for 60% off ($32 - I got it for $60, USD). It's approved to be medical grade. Also, even though it's by Apple, you don't need an Apple device to use it or the app.

So I've just got a smartwatch.
I started suspecting POTS the other week but then the more I thought about it the more likely ot seemed I had low heart rate instead of high but its not as easy to find stuff about that because unless you're specific everywheres just like "low bpm means you're healthy".
Anyway I found out about bradycardia yesterday and earlier found out you can have both that and POTS.
So most recent measure was 54bpm, sitting after coffee.
It did only go up to 70 when I stood up but earlier it went from 64 to 94 within two minutes from standing.
Gonna keep gathering data and eventually call a doctor once my mum's MRI results are back so I know if there's anything more to discuss.
#bradycardia#POTS#Chronic pain#chronic fatigue#last time I went to the doctors about my chronic pain they didnt do anything#hence why im researching and getting the evidence I need beforehand#because if I wait for their confirmation before looking into things and using tips for it im gonan be suffering for way longer

I'm an idiot.
So tachycardia and high pulse pressure feel about the same to me. I felt this, and assumed I was tachycardic. Collapsed on the couch and husband grabbed my meds to slow down my heart.
Low and behold, my heartrate was actually slow but with high pulse pressure. So because I panicked and didn't check my pulse in my haze before taking my meds, husband will now have to keep a close eye on me for the next while.
I reiterate. I'm an idiot.
(I didn't get any sleep last night and usually when that happens my tachycardia hits a loootttttttttt for the 24 hrs after an insomnia all nighter.)
CHECK YOUR VITALS. NEVER ASSUME.

I MAKE PERSONALS!
My heart is strong and slow, i can feel every beat pumping blood into my veins.
but under right conditions it can also beat super fast or irregular.
Tools to use:
-videocall with live heartbeat and breathing sounds
-ambu bag (black leather)
-12 lead suction ekg (Rest and stress test)
How long ever u want me to do.
-12 lead ecg with normal electrodes
-ecg printer+live display (12 lead) I can print you every area of my heart u want to see.
-lifepak 2 defibrillator + 3 lead ecg
(3m orange defib pads 🥶 / defibrillation gel)
-electric stethoscope for audio
(live breathhold and heartbeat) I can do bradycardia, Tachycardia.
-3 lead ecg monitor no.2
-tens unit (I can shock musclegroups on high level) PS. even on levels which definitely hurt

Been getting a lot of requests for a resting file. These are a pain for me to record basically because my heart is such a show off, once the mic hits my chest it starts to accelerate. Today it finally stayed calm for about half a minute before speeding up a little towards the end.
So here's what's pumping in my chest when I'm awake, alert and sitting upright. How's the BPM?

Parasympathetic
Geralt has a funny relationship with his bradycardia.
cw: nothing really crazy, just Gerald's thoughts about his witcher heartrate, both good and bad.
---
Ever since the trials Geralt's heart had become his gauge. He felt the change too, even before he could open his eyes after the trials, the first thing that pulled him to conciousness was the slow pulse of his own heart. He was a boy then, and now it beat slower still.
It wasn't the whimpering slow beat of a dying animal either, it was confident and powerful, as if to tell the rest of Geralt's body that they were different now, Geralt had nothing to fear.
Some nights, when he was warm next to a fire, Yen tucked into his chest and his Child Surprise sleeping soundly beyond the walls, he could feel the pulse of each individual chamber in rhythm. His heart rocking him to sleep, knowing he was safe and happy.
The confidence of his heart flowed beyond his veins and into Geralt's mind. No matter the injury, the poison, or fear that might assault him, his heart remained steady, and in turn Geralt could find a deep breath and remind himself of his strength.
His pulse felt like an ever present whisper in his ear, reminding him that things were always going to be okay, so long as his heart still beat.
And that made his glimpses of death all the more frightening.
Geralt felt the panic in his heart first before he knew anything else was wrong. His heart thrumming like a racing horse as the toxins spread through his bloodstream. His heart no longer a comfort but a warning bell of the sepsis infecting him. It was three days before they were sure he would live, and two months before he felt the familiar comfort of his slow beating heart again.
Later, it was the near-final moments of life when his heart slowed to a sluggish crawl as his blood spilled onto the dirt that Geralt appreciated the heart that once supplied his body. Geralt felt his arrogant heart become a quivering child in his chest, felt his heart clawing to life but weak and frail. The squeeze in his stricken chest was the last he felt before the blood-loss gave his mind to the darkness. It would be five days before he felt the pulse again in his body.
Geralt lamented on those conversations with his heart, and felt it pulse again in reassurance. He was okay, his heart was strong and steady now. He could always find comfort in that.

I had work and class today as usual, but I was very tired bc I got like 2 1/2 hours of sleep bc of poor decision making. And maybe that triggered a flare up, I have no idea. My blood oxygen level dropped to 91% this morning and my heart rate was, once again, dropping into the 40s every time I rested, but jumped up as high as the 160s when I was like taking stairs and shit.
So uhhh,,,I was tired as hell. I still am. Idk how accurate my phone is, but it says my VO2 max didn’t get above 24.6 today, which - if that’s correct - means my body was really struggling to use what oxygen I was getting. And the METs measurements indicates that I’m using as much energy to walk around and do normal tasks that a healthy person might use to run an 8-10 minute mile.
I still went to class. Which maybe counts for something, idk. But I apparently looked as shitty as I felt, bc multiple people asked me if I was doing okay. And one of my class friends checked in because I was apparently wheezing, which I didn’t notice, and it worried her.
It wasn’t a great day. And it’s far from the only bad day I’ve had recently. But, with the exception of some readings for my class tomorrow, I guess I’ve gotten through it. And I’ll definitely wear my leg braces and everything tomorrow so that I, at the least, don’t have to actively manage both issues.
But if anyone has any advice? Or like a hypothesis about what’s causing this? I’m not picky. And I’d be really grateful.
And I’m sorry for bitching about it on the internet again.

Bradycardia:
First-line therapy is with atropine. Second-line therapies include transcutaneous pacing and β-adrenergic agonists. Consider implementing one of the second-line therapies immediately if the patient has second-degree AV block type II or third-degree AV block. Consider expert consult and transvenous pacing if first- and second-line therapies are not effective.
First-line therapy is with atropine, an anticholinergic drug that increases sinoatrial (SA) node firing to increase the heart rate. Give a 1-mg bolus intravenously every 3 to 5 minutes, up to a maximum dose of 3 mg. If the atropine is having no effect, do not wait to reach the maximum dose of atropine before initiating second-line therapies.
Use atropine with caution in patients with acute coronary ischemia or myocardial infarction because in these patients, atropine can cause adverse effects, including ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation.
Consider implementing transcutaneous pacing immediately if vascular access is difficult to achieve. If at any point atropine is not effective, consider transcutaneous pacing or β-adrenergic agonist therapy. Also consider transcutaneous pacing or β-adrenergic agonist therapy immediately if the patient has second-degree AV block type II or third-degree AV block.
Epinephrine or dopamine may be administered to patients with symptomatic bradycardia as an alternative second-line therapy. These drugs may also be considered when the cause of the bradyarrhythmia is an overdose with a β-blocker or calcium channel blocker. The initial dose is 2 to 10 mcg/min by IV infusion for epinephrine or 5 to 20 mcg/kg/min by IV infusion for dopamine, and then the dose is titrated to the patient’s response.
Atropine is the first-line therapy for patients who are unstable (experiencing hemodynamic compromise) and experiencing symptomatic bradycardia. Adenosine is the drug of choice for treating a patient who is unstable and experiencing a tachyarrhythmia.
