Really? You hope someone was or is being hurt by them because checks notes you think its annoying that a celebrity you don't like has fans?

Really just highlights the issues with how we TALK about so-called "cancel culture", whenever someone criticizes it people act like you're saying horrible harmful actions should go unpunished, that's NOT the issue we have with it. It's that people gleefully use it as an excuse to publicly flog someone they've already decided they don't like for unrelated reasons. It's not about any care about the victims. Just people who desperately want to be seen as good people but also desperately want to bully, who've found an acceptable target for their wrath.

Here's a side note on why Cult Hero is credited as the Cure (it still cracks me up that this is Robert Smith's idea of disco.)

Sidenote: I'm not entirely sure about the translation of "mēroga" in the Latvian one, but I don't speak nearly enough Latvian to feel cocky enough to correct it. The German's right though; that's one of the few things I still remember how to say.

Wrong

Just putting this question out there for the universe to ignore, but like ... how the fuck am I so bad at life?

Like, I'm sitting here in the comforts of my insanely overpriced apartment in the deep embrace of loneliness (and a blanket), staring at a TV because I can't find anything I 'want' to watch (despite paying for like 30 gazillion streaming services), and I'm just like ... why? How?

I just spent weeks with friends and family and while, no, things may not be perfect and there are obviously some hidden issues that people just don't announce to the world, it's ... they've got things at least sorta figured out. And I sit here, much closer to 42 than I was a few years back, and ...

I've got a job. Which I, for the most part, enjoy. It's a nice job and, honestly, because of the life I've lived, there isn't much I could do aside from it. I understand that, and I'm chill with it (mostly). And I'm at least somewhat knowledgeable about the material, so I'll take it. But like, my life is ... NOTHING ... like I thought it would be. Nothing like I hoped it would be. Nothing like I dreamt it would be.

I'm ... floundering? ... floundering and just watching dream after dream shatter as things sail right past me and into the arms of others. And sure, they're probably more deserving or better fits or just better able to snag such dreams, but, like, why I do I suck so bad at it...

Maybe my expectations, or hopes, or dreams, are too grand. Too big. Like they say, you can lead a horse to water, but you shouldn't look that horse in the mouth. Maybe that's what happened. Life handed me lemons, and I mistook the lemons as a stones and threw them from the glass bush in which I was looking for birds. I don't know.

It sucks sucking at life. And it sucks even more when you're doing it alone. But apparently I'm of that awesome ilk that when I swipe left (or is it right? I'm directionally challenged), the other party immediately swipes the other direction. I know I'm not no Brad Pitt or whomever, but I'm clearly not even a very poor man's Prad Bitt.

Like the say, dream big - so that even when you miss the moon and fall back to earth, the fall is from high enough that you don't feel the impact when you hit the ground.
