I guess you can say I like Halloween a little bit. All costumes by me. Oogie Boogie, Sanderson sisters together (with Champage Bubbles and Jaclyn Hiney Daniels) and apart after all played by me, Jackie-o-lantern, and Malificent in her normal and dragon form.

The Winner for this challenge will receive...
Tumblr media
A custom look by Boxxa Vine. "This is not something I do very often as I'm a very selfish bitch who likes to have things no one else can, but having done this competition and then gone out into the real world something like this can help you get noticed. So I'm making a full custom look, within reason, for this weeks winner. May it be a dress, a romper, maybe a power suit. Play the game correctly, think big, I'll draw it up after a chat with you, get it, GO TO THE CLUB, make sure people take photos, and most of all…tell them I made it and to find me via BOXXAVINE.com. So enough shameless promotion, get me your size and lets talk through your look and see what I can do for you."

An LGBT Extravaganza in the Berkshires by Larry Murray
Ever since the first whispers of a Berkshire Dance Party and Cabaret in celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month began circulating, the chatter has been nonstop. Just what form will this event take? Event planner Oskar Hallig says they plan to take over the Colonial Theatre stage, lobby and adjacent Garage Club. In other words, a major event. And the buzz is building. There simply has never been as large or openly visible event as this in the Berkshires before. Across the country June is “Pride Month” for the gay community, and this is a helluva way to kick it off.
On Friday, June 3 the huge Colonial stage will be converted into the Berkshire’s Studio 54 for the dance party itself. Beginning at 8pm, the guests will walk the pink carpet to enter. Many will head straight for a messaging booth to enable them to send notes to those that intrigue courtesy of Berkshire Flirts before following the music to the dance floor.
Over in the Garage club, where drinks and snacks will be available, a stage and cabaret will provide a completely different atmosphere, with a piano bar, and a stage where drag queens and belly dancers will entertain the guests. And that’s just for starters. The event is shaping up to be the party of the year, and honey, you don’t have to be gay to attend. This is too good for just the LGBT community, so many of their allies will be celebrating right along side them! Diversity and unity will reign on this special night.
Tickets to the Dance Party and Cabaret are $35 General Admission, and $75 for All Inclusive VIP Admission Attendees. Must be 21+ to attend this event and show proof of age at the door. Contact the Colonial Ticket Office at 111 South Street, Pittsfield by calling 413-997-4444, or online at www.berkshiretheatregroup.org. The Ticket Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm or on any performance day from 10am until curtain.
The Poster Design
So you’ve danced up a storm to the music spun by the Berkshires’ own DJ Elixer and DJ IAMSAM. Time for a cool down, so head to the Garage Club. There you will find the great music of pianist Bob Shepherd, alternating with the drag show antics of such luminaries as Boxxa Vine, Angel South, Avi Munster and Philly Pino. Heart-Shaped Box will be there too, representing Berkshire County’s resident metal-head Belly Dancers. Watch a bit of the creativity of Boxxa Vine in the Wizard of Oz video below:
Berkshire Flirt will have a booth at the theatre where interested singles are assigned a box number and can leave notes to other singles. And the Rainbow Seniors of the Berkshires will be dusting off their dancing shoes to have a good old time as well.
Pianist Bob Shepherd will be tickling the ivories at the Berkshire Dance Party and Cabaret. He offers a lifetime of experience in solo, small jazz groups and big band formats and is a first-call vocal accompanist in western New England, specializing in the Great American Songbook. Come and sing your favorite songs with Bob at the piano. With the Berkshire theatre season just gearing up, and such a master of classic tunes at the piano, there’s always the possibility that some top notched entertainers will stop by after their shows to belt out a tune or two.
Oskar Hallig, BTG’S Manager of Corporate and Business Sponsorships and President of Only In My Dreams Events LLC says, “What an amazing opportunity to host a celebration of GLBTQ Pride Month at The Colonial Theatre. With a variety of entertainment on every stage, my husband Mike and I are excited to bring all types of people together for a party that celebrates diversity!”
Plenty of live entertainment on tap for Berkshire Pride Dance at Colonial June 3 An LGBT Extravaganza in the Berkshires by Larry Murray Ever since the first whispers of a Berkshire Dance Party and Cabaret in celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month began circulating, the chatter has been nonstop.
