I've done this exercise before, but in rigged animation, and in 3D with Maya. It has a bit of a weird pop, and I think I need to space the balls apart further when descending so it falls faster. Good note for next time!
Sometimes I see people do crazy camera angles and moves with simple exercises like this, and add so much speed and character to the ball. I want to get there too one day. For bouncing balls I definitely need to work on my arcs, always. And I think it might be a good idea to actually do some straight ahead animation for it as well. Pose to pose is a bit stiff for it (as told to me by a friend)
lil guy got bonked
Hey! Sorry if you’ve already answered this but why does Claudia say “Follow the bouncing ball.” as she’s about to die? I’ve watched the ep a couple of times now and I still don’t get it
She is literally telling the audience (challenging it I think) to sing with her while she burns. 😖
It's... a bit of a middle finger on her part. A very bitter one.
How many games do I know that have bouncing weapons? 3.
CrossCode - bouncing bullet weapon that is used for puzzle-solving and combat.
Antonball - Breakout by way of a Mario platformer.
Curse Crackers: For Whom The Bell Tolls - ricocheting giant bell you fling about.
If I include atypical gameplay pinball, pachinko, and other Breakout-ish games then the numbers rise thanks to things like I Am Level, Strikey Sisters, Fallingstar (and much of hwilson's lineup), Pinball Gardener, Yoku's Island Express, and Peglin. Others too but those are the first ones to mind. Oh and Yoshi Island games with AAA but the eggs don't really bounce the same way.
Swords and bows and even boomerangs are all good but there's something satisfying about watching a weapon ricochet and angling things just right to smack the opponent.
(I decided to share my animations again, but this time from scratch. And maybe someone who is also interested in animation will be know what to start, idk.)

November 14/2023, trying. I know I'm not a good animator, or really an animator in any sense but I hope I'll be better by the time I finish this challenge. And then one day I'll redo all the exercises and have already learned from mistakes
Goals: To learn timing and spacing, to get weighty animations with momentum and life in it . And also, just to animate.
Kinda a melodramatic post but that is what my blog is for, all my thoughts reflecting on myself and my art
