Summary: You're beginning to build a life with Lando. One of the steps you were excited for the most was building a home with him. So when it's time to finally start furnishing the house... let's just say we're glad everyone got to keep their fingers.

It’s finally time! A chapter in your life you were waiting for for so long. Not just building a life with your favorite person, but building a home with them too. You and Lando recently bought a home together and were excited to finally decorate it after having renovated it yourselves. 

The two of you (mainly just you) spent ages on pinterest and various furniture websites, trying to put together an aesthetically pleasing home that could also make the environment feel homey and warm, something Lando had lived without for so long, well, at least until you joined his life. From the day you’d met, his life suddenly seemed brighter and warmer, like he’d been living in a plain, grey world prior. 

After some conflicts and adjustments to the mood board, you both had settled on some furniture that you both loved. Some things were ordered to the house while the others were picked up in the store by you and Lando. Lando, of course, insisted on helping because 1. It could be some nice bonding time since he’s away a lot and 2. He’s a “Big strong man” who can help you carry everything… In other words, he was afraid another man would come to your rescue and steal you away. But that would never happen. 

As you awaited everything you’d ordered, your home still only held a mattress, Lando’s gaming set up and boxes that were filled with various objects. One of those boxes held your collection of books. Your collection grew through the years as you got older, the collection expanding a lot quicker since you and Lan had started dating. Everytime he traveled without you, he would stop by a bookstore and get you a book. Whether it be a special edition of a book or just something he thought you’d like, he always came back with one to add to your collection. 

“Baby.” Lando called to you, jumping onto the mattress where you laid. 

“Baby.” you reply. 

“I was thinking-”

Sitting up fast and gasping, “You can do that?”

Lando’s jaw dropped, “Rude?! You know what? Nevermind.” begins to stand up to walk away, hiding a smile. 

“No! Come on, baby. I was joking. Tell me what you were thinking.” you say, pulling his arm so that he falls over top of you on the bed. 

“Fine. Only cause I love you so much.” the man says, receiving several kisses from you that scatter his face. 

“I love you too. Now, tell me.”

“Do you wanna go to ikea? I know we ordered most of the furniture or we’re going to some stores in person but we need to get some bookshelves for your books. We can get to building them today and putting away the books.” he says, moving to stand, “That way we can clear a few boxes and we’ll have more room for activities.” he says as he pranced around the room, twirling in the air as if he was a dancer. 

You laugh at the show before you, being eternally grateful for his existence and the chaos he brings with him, “That sounds amazing, Lan. We can go now. That way we’re not up late trying to put together the bookshelves.” 

“How hard can putting together bookshelves be?”

Lando and you took the opportunity to enjoy the day to the fullest. The sun was out so you guys drove with the windows down, blasting some Taylor Swift and singing your hearts out to each other. 

Although the drive was fun, the same can’t be said for the adventure in Ikea… The two of you got lost for 5 hours inside of the Ikea. And don’t ask how, cause not even God knows how the two of you got lost, though it might have to do with the fact that you guys share a brain cell…

Eventually, with the help of an Ikea employee, the two of you made it out to the other side, half tempted to kiss the ground once you saw the sun again.

Finally, after a stop at Mcdonalds for some dinner, the two of you were safe and sound at home, cutting open the boxes that contained the pieces of wood to build the bookshelves. As Lando was unboxing the pieces, he began throwing things about, not paying any mind to what was going where. 

“Lan, calm down. We’re gonna lose the instructions if you keep doing that.” 

“Pish posh. Who needs instructions for bookshelves? It’s easy. I built that desk myself with no instructions.” he says, pointing to the desk that holds his gaming set up… the most basic table to have ever existed. 

You put your hands on your hips as you exhale loudly, “Lan, that table has 5 pieces total…”

“And? I still did it. Ya know why? Cause I’m super smart and super strong. I don’t need the instructions… Now… where do we start…?” he says as he rests his hands on his hips, squinting as the mess of screws and panels of wood he scattered on the floor.

Building a bookshelf was NOT as easy and Lando claimed it would be. Not only were the instructions missing, but Lando kept insisting he didn’t need them. You tried to help him but it felt as if the pieces kept moving on their own. You felt like the boys in the Maze Runner, trying to figure out the pattern of the maze changes every night. 

It’s been two hours since anyones spoken… so it startles you when he breaks the silence, “How… is the bookshelf… inside out…?”

“It’s 9pm… and we still haven’t finished the first bookshelf… we have 6 more to build…”

(Mallechite is the first to hatch and the primary owner of the collective braincell dinging around from skull to skull. As the first born, he is technically next in line for the throne and is a miniature Malleus in personality. Malleon is the last to hatch and the most clueless of the hatchlings as well as the most playful of the hatchlings, closely bonded to Lilia. Malerigold is actually the sweetest of the hatchlings and prefers to sit quietly among a field of flowers as opposed to playing. Mallek fights the most out of the hatchlings and has the worst temper of the eight. Malevance is the most spiteful of the hatchlings and does not take offensive behavior from others lightly. Mallenite is closest to Mallechite and the two are almost always together. Mallessial is most attached to Silver and enjoys walking with Silver while he guards. Malevian actually likes Sebek most and does a baby crocodile cry most often to get Sebek's attention.)

It’s a good thing we’re so normal and well-adjusted and could never fall in love with each other! by @luckshiptoshore my dear friend wrote her first Buddie fic, and it's a delight. Posing the question, what would happen if Buck and Eddie had an ongoing fwb arrangement, and hadn't thought any deeper about it than that because they're both straight right, so it's just blowing off steam? Coupled with Buck's canonical bi awakening...that makes him reassess what exactly has been going on all this time. Witty and so much fun, bless these idiots, they have but one braincell between them but boy does it spark when rubbed together.

there is no road by @ghostlandtoo such a gripping take on Eddie moving to El Paso and Buck in LA missing him, this is a dual POV in which Buck is striving to be fine, and Eddie is struggling to adjust, and they're both missing each other. When Eddie is injured on the job, Buck drops everything to come to his side, and together they heal and slowly start to unpeel the layers on their feelings. Really fantastic examination of how to be there for each other when you know what you feel but not how to unblock obstacles in the way. I especially loved the Eddie POV and myriad family dynamics in this one.

so make the best of this test (and don’t ask why) by @littlefreakbuckley oh this one took me by surprise in the best way! Buck 1.0 wakes up in the marriage bed of future Buck and Eddie. Adjusting to learning he's into guys too now, and reckoning with the realisation that he's built a family since his early season 1 pre-Abby relationship days, what unfolds is both flirtation to the max and a beautifully introspective journey of acceptance. And one VERY intrigued Eddie. Hot and sweet, their idiosyncrasies and banter were so on point, with such a lovely subtle characterisation shift between 1.0 and Buck that still made them both feel distinctly them even with the gap in wisdom and growth: just gorgeous. Also hot, did I say hot? Hot! 

crying after sex by @eddiebabygirldiaz I'm always here for an ren's fics, and oh hello, this one is a stunner! After a hook up following the Risky Business scene, Buck and Eddie have kissed...but they've yet to define anything, and before they can have that conversation, one or the other bolts. When Eddie moves to Texas, Buck spirals and has a lot of sex and spirals some more. They miss each other terribly, and through their discussions, they find their way to each other, but not without a few speed bumps. I really love the self reflection they both go through here, and the structure which means we get to see so much of how they cope, love, and grow together.

his indecision's bugging me by @peachino a beautifully written contribution to the 'Eddie moves out and without telling him, Buck moves in' speculation. The language and descriptions in this one are so gorgeous, with Buck's head being a delightfully messy, tangled place to inhabit. There's paint metaphors, Buckley sibling conversations, and an Eddie who is gently accepting and amused. I love you squatter Buck!

crash test anthem by @clytemnestraaa part two in gear shift harmony, Buck is not having a great time in LA, and the firefam are concerned for him. Really diving deep into his abandonment issues and his less than healthy ways of dealing with them, this is putting him in the torment nexus.

tailspinning by @doitgently taking Buck spiralling to the extreme...this is that one time Buck snooped on Eddie's fridge calendar to the extreme! With a mix of location tracking and memorised schedules, the codependency is off the charts and yet remains somehow incredibly sweet and charming - such a fine line and executed so well. Buck knows what he's doing is insane but god help him, he just needs to know.

slaughterhouse by @kithmet 'Buck has resolved to be the greatest friend ever. He’s handling this move so well. And not at all being abnormal about Eddie’s house. Or Eddie’s belongings. Or, well. Eddie.' In which Buck accidentally starts magpieing Eddie's belongings in a reaction to him moving away and feels very guilty about it but just can't stop himself....and Eddie's reaction might not be what you expect. This one tickled me so much, lovely little klepto.

oh brother, I see (you burn like me) by canadadry SISTERS!!!! Oh oh how I loved this...chapters split between Adriana and Maddie, this is a third person POV to Buddie, from the eyes of their siblings. What Adriana witnesses coming in fresh contrast to poor Maddie's slowly boiled frog experience of the two. Lovely characterisation and just so much fun, I really loved that they bonded over the insanity.

We're Overdue for a Revival by @bespectacledbunnys in which Chris agrees to come back to LA but he has one condition....Eddie must marry Buck. The only problem? Buck and Eddie are totally platonic? Right? I love the comedy of errors sensibility to this fic, along with the marriage of convenience trope wielded by teenage melodrama. Chris is brilliantly given agency here, allowed to be a messy and contradictory and hurt teenager just trying to be okay. Love Buck's easy acceptance and the firefam's incredulity. So much fun, and a delightful ride.

Okay let's leave it there for now, with Eddie perpetually in El Paso and Buck perpetually Not Okay About It. So excited to be back with more canon informed fics soon, happy reading everyone! 12 days until 8b!

I’m trying to rub my braincells together to form a reason why Wukong’s question for immortality would connect to protecting people, like theres obvious reasons like being a king so he has to protect the monkeys on the island but then logically he would stop after once?

So I’ve decide to ask anyone who sees this, aka you.

I have some suggestions to help guide your thinking but I’m not going to criticize your ideas.

1. Try to keep in mind that Wukong is the Intelligent Stone Monkey, so hopefully a lot of his decisions no matter how stupid they may seem to others, always have some sort of thread of logic.

2. Wukong seems to be genuine when he tells MK in season 4 that he did everything to protect the people he cared about. I don’t he’s lying there. I think something probably scared him and he felt he needed to become immortal in several ways to protect people from it.

That’s really it, even if your headcanons don’t fit one or both of those points or even if they don’t discuss Wukong at all I wanna hear them

things about the Boboiboy series that drive me NUTS (this list is written solely from memory)

the fact that the first three elements, Wind, Earth, and Lightning, didn't really start out as having different personality's from Boboiboy himself (at least, not by much/it wasn't extremely noticable) but then, Lightning, after being split for too long, losing his memories completely, and achieving tier 2, becoming Thunderstorm, suddenly goes all Edgy(TM). and then Wind eats a mood-changing potion and goes manic, and not only does that unlock his tier 2, making him Cyclone but that becomes his personality. like. hello??? the implications.... and then later on, Fire, Water, Leaf, and Light manifest WITH their personalities pre-set. what??? the vague implication that the elements are sentient and the personalities started becoming more obvious when Boboiboy's mind started slipping/letting them have freer reign haunts me every day.

speaking of Fire's manifestation. he initially manifested from the stress of exams and walked around accidentally burning shit down in the middle of the night. what a mood tbh.

if the elements are sentient, the implications of Retak'ka stealing them from Boboiboy and using them- without having his personality change, is INSANE. like bro. he used them as a weapon instead of letting them be actual people..... and then later on in the comics Thunderstorm gets taken away AGAIN and is trapped in a sword, a literal weapon, and is used. again. HELLO????

both of the first times Thunderstorm gets summoned (both the obvious first time and the first time after they all got reset to tier 1 due to Complications) involving his phobia kills me every time why the FUCK did they do that. they didn't even address it the second time around but they animated Lightning looking like he was in distress anyways. WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HIM. i know he's the fave but like. was this necessary.

BOBOIBOY JUST DECIDING "Y'KNOW WHAT??? I'M GONNA INVENT FUSIONS NOW HERE WE GO" IN THE SECOND MOVIE AND PROCEEDING TO ABSOLUTELY WIPE THE FLOOR WITH RETAK'KA

i could list so much Thunderstorm stuff tbh he's definitely the fave they give him so many cool bits of animation. he does the "teleports behind you" move SO OFTEN and it's SO GOOD

Yaya and Ying being arguably the two most powerful/capable members of the friend group as they should

that one time Thunderstorm and Fang fought and they paused right before hitting each other and the objects behind both of them exploded from the force of the other's attack

in the first movie when it hinted that we'd see Boboiboy without his hat for the first time ever throughout the entire movie and then it FINALLY HAPPENED when he caught a giant hammer right before it could hit him and punched the dude away with a blast of energy. he has a white streak in his hair and it's visible in the series from this point onwards.

I KNOW IVE SAID A LOT OF THUNDERSTORM SCENES BUT THAT POINT IN GALAXY WHERE HE WAS USING TIER 2 BEFORE HE SHOULD'VE BEEN USING IT AND HE KEPT SWAPPING IN BETWEEN BOBOIBOY AND THUNDERSTORM THROUGHOUT THE FIGHT??? THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK I LOVED THAT

i could list so many of the really cool shots from this series tbh. that one time Light slow-mo backflipped over a bunch of debris and then activated laser eyes to shoot at the villain is a highlight.

i enjoy that he made a comeback honestly and it makes me want to write a fic about how he got here, cuz that was a season 1 episode if i recall correctly

anyway, now Alya knows that Gabi is a bigger dick than originally thought, i still dont think she has the right to tell adrien that but she is right that he should know

the world doesnt have to know, but the world also shouldnt have been lied to that he was a hero when he wasn't

Fury looks great on Rena, it really do and god i love it

it is good to see Alya actually using her journalism skills but i'm still bitter about her never seemingly putting two and two together about Lila after finding out who Ladybug is, but she's def been on the way back up

and now to the big important thing of the episode that i know everyone's talking about instead

Chat Noir can erase concepts, that is amazing, and so useful, and I def predicted that in an unposted story I've been writing but that doesn't matter because i quite like how they showed it in the show, it was lovely and i'm happy for CN, he deserves more powers

now give him the teleporation power from the art book plz

Dialogue!!!11:

The main thing I did over the past week or so was put together this dialogue system. The system itself was fairly easily to implement, and I think the only interesting part of the process to share is how I went about making the UI. As per usual, I wanted to have a cool mechanical feeling ui, but at the same time a friend of mine suggested an AOL instant messenger inspired chat window. I loved both of these ideas so I decided to combine them into a screen that pops up and contains the aim-like window. The modeling process for the screen was similar to how I went about making the other two bits of ui that are on screen in the above photos, but I decided to include a VGA port.

VGA PORT:

I didn't originally plan to include a VGA port, but I was in the middle of researching monitors and accidentally left a window open on my computer that just had a big photo of one and I went "wait a minute.". With my final two braincells I suddenly decided to slap together a model for the port which I ended up being proud enough of to, for some reason, make an entire section for it.

Sorry if any of the above sentences read horribly. I am going to need a third braincell if you want this stuff to be coherent. Anyway, Blender is so cool. Using the array modifier to make all these lil squares for the holes in the port is just such a satisfying process. I've come to really like makin pre-rendered assets like this.

New Movez:

This is actually a pretty big inclusion, and I probably should've ranked it in my mind above the VGA port. I added some new movement options to the game!

Firstly, I added this melee move where you swing the back of the sniper forwards to propel yourself a bit. It is mainly useful as a bunnyhop that allows you to conserve momentum.

Next up I added this kick that happens if you melee while in the air. It's basically just the one from mario64. It lets you gain a little bit more height and distance. It also becomes way more effective if you have a lot of momentum. A good tool for correcting jumps and reaching new heights.

Finally, we have the big schmovement slide. This slide gives you a huge burst of speed that you can jump out of in order to send your self flyin. Surprisingly, it didn't really break any of the level design and ended up being a really fun addition imo. In order to perform it, you have to do a ground pound and then melee as you hit the ground. Also, I feel like I basically stole this from pseudoregalia. Played through that recently and it has been a good source of inspiration.

Nova!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

This is a cameo skin I've been really excited to finally make myself put in the game. Anodyne 2 is a really important game to me, and I love it much. I'm really happy tha folks at analgesic let me put her in here, and I'm p happy with how her model came together. If you haven't peeped the Anodyne games I highly recommend them. The first one was a major inspiration for parts of Fatum Betula.

Conclusion:

Lately I've been playing this game way too much. It has made it impossible for me to tell if it is fun or well designed. Some problems cropped up during playtesting that ima need to address, and I hope that it all comes together into something that one could say is "fun and cool". I think takin this weekend off is gonna do my brain good. Oh yeah also I feel like I should advertise that I'm still doing commissions if anyone is interested. Anyway, have a good 1 and enjoy urself.

the mischaracterizations of both Viktor and Jayce are killing me because:

They are both fucking nerds/geeks like those two believed in magic not only when it was banned and could get them exiled but also when 90% of the world didn't like. they were absolute geeks. canonically they spend 75% of their time together, and the other 25% is either them alone, Jayce with Mel/the Council, and Viktor with Sky (sort of) or talking to Singed.

Jayce is definitely as introverted/lonely as Viktor. He had no friends besides Caitlyn in S1A1 and only gained MAYBE 2 more after Viktor. He did not have a partner nor trusted anyone with what he was working on. No one else came to his defense at the trial. Boy was a loner, not a popular academy student with tons of friends.

VIKTOR IS GOOFY. Look at his face when Jayce asks him if he thinks their plans in act 1 will work! He's like "Crank it!" after seeing Jayce use it. He tries to use a bedroom lie when he gets caught breaking in. He steals keys TO break in just cause. He's excited explaining new creations to Jayce. He's excited (at first) when Jayce gives the speech!

Jayce is smart!!!!! Like yes he is very much a himbo in the sense of his energy, but he's not the "dumb one" of his and Viktor's pair, they're equals. just rewatch how he explains the arcane/hexcore/hextech to Ekko, or the whole scene in general. he keeps notes on Viktor while he's in the hexcore despite never having any prior experience with anything like it before. They understand each other easily. the braincell they share has an IQ of like 1000.

Viktor not only wears all his emotions on his face (in fact, he is very emotional) he also doesn't shy away from touch! His reciprocation is allowing the touch from Jayce (hands on back, shoulders, sides, hugs) because he also likes it! and he's not afraid TO show emotion! (that's why the whole machine herald thing was so intense, he went from having ALL the emotions to like 1 or 2 traumatically).

Viktor admires Jayce as much as the reverse: it's why he's mad/annoyed at him during the politics era: he knows the real Jayce, and not "his Jayce" but the real Jayce who is a scientist who wants to help people. It's why he's so open with him, why he's so betrayed and leaves when Jayce uses the hexcore on him, because his heart was broken. because the Jayce he knows is incredibly intelligent and focused and wants to actually help people.

JAYCE IS SELFISH. THEY BOTH ARE. From day one these assholes are only thinking about each other, they have each other on the top of their respective lists, but they don't know it. Viktor almost dooms an entire universe out of a selfish perspective to "cure" the world (forgetting choice is the upmost important thing) and after he got rejected from the one person he loved.

Jayce has always put Viktor first, even despite Viktor's wishes (the hexcore) and from the end of S2A2 on, his only main priority is Viktor, it just so happens saving Viktor also saves the world. this asshole tells Viktor in front of the whole hivemind that magic (which did improve everyone's lives basically until it got corrupted) wasn't worth it because he loses Viktor. because any other writing would have had Jayce be like "im letting him go to save the world" and Jayce is "I'll never let him go, even if it dooms the world".

dion was born in the last carne levare, a hedonistic sex ritual of the kakin empire's royal family. she's the daughter of king nasubi hui guo rou of kakin and an unknown woman. before she could be taken by the mafia, dion was left at an orphanage owned by the chengqian-bi mafia family, known as the most powerful and most merciful of kakin's four mafia families.

she had a relatively ordinary life after this, with some special doting by the nuns for reasons she never quite understood before being told of her past on her tenth birthday. she develops a fascination with puzzles, riddles and history.

after the death of her beloved teacher and friend sister hershi, dion is inspired to leave the orphanage for good and to travel the world. she then takes the hunter exam, where she meets ging freecss and begins travelling the world with him, intent to find some meaning in her (seemingly) meaningless existence as a mistake made by a man and woman who never wanted her.

dion is a manipulator with a truly prodigious mastery of nen. her hatsu is PRIVATE PURE LOVE RENDEZVOUS (プライベート・ピュア・ラブ・ランデブー), which has four different sub abilities.

ROMANTIC LOVE AFFAIR (ロマンチックな恋愛) is her simplest and most frequently used ability. dion assigns a number from one to ten on her opponents. she can then assign commands in order of the numbers to her opponents, which they have to follow. for example, if dion assigned two people with '1' and '2':

"1 -> leave the room."

"2 -> follow them."

if the commands are assigned incorrectly or incongrously, this ability will not work.

LOVE BEYOND REASON (理性を超えた愛) is her next ability and one she uses only in emergencies due to its nature.. she can assign a number of days to someone, where they obey her commands. on the final day, she is unable to give them commands and she can choose if they end up forgetting her or enter a state of 'devotion' for her, meaning that they end up loyal to her.. if a marked target becomes consciously aware of the nen and rejects the feelings or compulsions with clear intent, the countdown pauses — frozen at its current number,. this ability also does not work completely if the target has exceptionally strong nen, or they manage to get a nen exorcist before the final day.

IF YOU LOVED ME, YOU'LL LISTEN (私を愛しているなら、聞いてくれるだろう) is her next ability . if a target feels strong emotions to dion and confesses either love, lust or hatred to her, she can make them do up to five commands with starting phrase "if you love me.." after the five commands, the target ends up forgetting her completely. dion is unable to use this ability more than once on someone. if those feelings fade, she is also unable to give them commands.

DON'T YOU REMEMBER HOW MUCH YOU LOVED ME? (私をどれだけ愛していたか覚えてないの?) is her final ability. if she touches someone and feels genuine emotion to them, she can ask "don't you remember how much you loved me?" dion can then reframe the relationship between her and the target. love, hate-- its all up to her. however, if the target has exceptionally strong nen or clarity, this ability becomes void. along with that, if they witness undeniable proof that the memory didn't happen, the illusion shatters.

DION and GING fight like cats and dogs, as everyone loves to point out. they've been together since they were twelve years old, ever since the first hunter exam. through rain and heat, its just been the two of them. there's a certain bond the two of them share that no one else will be able to understand. a certain connection. sometimes, people will swear up and down that the two of them communicate telepathically.

along with that, their braincells ae simply non-existent around each other. seperate? they're both pretty competent. together? their iq goes down a freefall. they spend so much time fighting over who gets the firewood that they're both freezing by night time. but they'll never, ever be apart. plain and simple. one is never seen without the other. its a relationship that no one but the two of them are able to fully grasp.

WHAT IS THE FIGHT SCENE CONVEYING? (a breakdown of OPLA episode 1)

Fight #1 - Luffy vs. Alvida: 1) Introducing the stretchy thing. If you have somehow tuned in to watch One Piece without knowing that the premise of One Piece is that this kid can stretch, well, good news! Now you know!

2) Establishing that this is fun for Luffy. Luffy is having fun. Luffy is also protecting Koby and shit, but most of all, this is Luffy having a good time. He does not make choices in this fight based on what will end the fight quickly or efficiently, because he does not actually want to end the fight. "Picking a fight with bullies" is one of Luffy's most favorite pastimes and it's important to establish that early on.

Fight #2 - Zoro vs. Mr. 7: 1) The next fight deliberately takes us directly from Luffy and his cartoon character fighting to Zoro, whose fight choreography is more or less plucked out of a samurai movie. It lets us know that the show is going to be doing both those things, and also that Zoro, before meeting Luffy, basically lives in a completely different genre.

2) Unlike Luffy, Zoro ends his fight fast and he ends his fight lethally. This demonstrates how good Zoro is at this, and also that they're going to be killing people, onscreen, in this show - even the good guys. Like, they need to get that out of the way quickly here in episode one - you are going to be cheering for Zoro and also, this man very much does kill people for a living.

Fight #3 - Zoro vs. Everybody In the Bar: If the previous fight was to establish for us how good Zoro is with his swords, this one is to show how he's just as good without them. This sets up the important theme about "only draw your sword if you mean to use it" - which they will call back to later, with Mihawk.

(Side point: Nami very quickly taking advantage of the bar fight chaos to slam the guy's head on the bar and take his shit is a beautiful, succinct illustration of her skill set - she prefers to talk her way into what she wants, but she's always on the lookout for opportunities to take advantage of.)

Fight #4 - Nami vs. Those Two Marines: Expands on that last point - Nami prefers to talk her way out of problems, too - but she's prepared to also hit things with a big stick if that doesn't work out. She's not playing around, and she's not worried about being honorable - as soon as it looks like things are not going to go her way, she's ready to smack some folks in the head and get the fuck out.

Fight #5 - THE BIG ONE: We get our 3 heroes finally working together for the first time! It's thrilling! It's exciting! It's also doing a lot of important character work like

Showing Luffy & Zoro going from getting in each other's way to working together to take down a guy too tough for either of them to take alone. Teamwork! Friendship! MAJOR CHARACTER THEMES!

The very, very smart use of the 3-sword-style. They made such a good call waiting to use that until this moment, honestly. And they managed to choreograph it such the third sword is actually important - even critical! - to the victory. (I mentioned before how that's really fucking hard to do in meatspace for... obvious reasons.)

We see all 3 of them being competent - but it's clear that Luffy and Zoro are enjoying it in a way Nami does not. Nami does not want to be doing this. Luffy and Zoro are sharing a single braincell, and that braincell is saying that fighting an entire base full of marines is a great idea and a really fun way to spend an afternoon!

And again, we see Phum coming here for no reason but to drop Peem off.

Also, he usually just stayed in the car previously, but now he's walking with Peem all the way.

I reckon we'll be seeing much more of Phum appearing in front of the Fine Arts building for nothing but to drop off or talk to his boyfriend Peem, in a slight reflection of all the times he came here to take Peem off somewhere to make him do something for him.

And I can't wait for it. <3

That scene in the shop was very sweet too, and most PhumPeem scenes in this ep had me going all gooey and mushy hehe

This painting studio is Peem's safe space, and he's allowing Phum in there willingly.

This scene is a goddamn masterpiece. It rendered me speechless. What am I supposed to say to that?

Peem's soft little "You did a great job, getting through those times." has me in a chokehold. The nose boop, the kiss- I'm screaming crying rolling around on the bed.

Peem is me though, I bump into things like thrice a day at the least.

I gasped at this scene, because you realize what this means right?

This painting, that was ruined due to Phum, that he had to painstakingly repaint while having to obey Phum's whims, this painting that represents his comfort (I don't know shit about art interpretation, but in grade 12 I had friends who'd taken art and I learnt a couple things from them), that represents himself, and in this painting, he adds bright red roses, for the ones that Phum gave him when he was driving him back because he was absolutely wasted, the roses he didn't have the heart to throw out.

And he's drawing these red roses to represent Phum, to show that inexplicably, but undeniably, Phum is a part of his life now; a part he likes enough to embed in one of his most prized paintings (as assumed from various context clues and such along the series). And when he does, he thinks of how Professor Po said "Every work you create contains a piece of you".

If this doesn't show that despite his caustic and sarcastic exterior, Peem is a sappy mushy romantic at heart (he is a Fine Arts student after all), I don't know what does.

This moment felt so poetic (I literally could write a poem about it and it still wouldn't be able to capture the raw beauty and vulnerability and love of this scene.)

Update: I really did write a poem about it 😭

I really like this scene.

Apart from not leaving Kluen hanging, and making sure he knows, this moment is also about Peem admitting to himself aloud, that yes, he does like Phum. He's slowly getting out of De Nile.

He didn't have to say this, but he did. To gently reject Kluen and tell himself that there was no going back now.

He's the one saying "okay, if you can't, I will." And I love him for it. He does it while staring right at Peem too.

Their first meeting was okuyasu trying to kill josuke, then he shows up at his house a few days later and goes "hey lets go to school! btw your mom is hot!" Josuke punches a plate of spaghetti because he thinks the chef is evil, they both fight a middle schooler who stole their cash. Okuyasu got the third most op ability in his part but he is too stupid (and kind) to realize it. Somehow they survive their entire part. They are thus far the second jojo and jobro duo to not lose each other. the second one? THEM IN AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE! (okay but okuyasu is swapped for koichi in that one, but still).

Josuke normally is pretty smart, but somewhat silly, but Okuyasu. Isn’t incredibly bright but he’s the best jojo character idc. Okuyasu brings out josukes stupid and then they are just besties and totally bouncing off each other’s stupid ideas. Idk what Okuyasu does to josukes brain but I’m here for it

Their relationship is funny as hell and is described as "not necessarily lovers, not necessarily husband and wife, but more just having fun as man and woman with each other." They've been married more than once lmao. Even if Fujiko acts like she doesn't have feelings for Lupin but she's confirmed being in love with him several times when he was in danger/believed to be dead. Jigen is Lupin's closest friends and has been since childhood, when Lupin claimed to steal something from Jigen and then announced that it was "his heart" and if that's not romantic idk what it. Lupin is super teasing and affectionate with him and the two are Inseparable People have canonically confused them for lovers, which made Lupin very teasing and Jigen very flustered and it's… suspicious :> Lupin and Goemon started off enemies, sort of, but Goemon ends up being really loyal to Lupin. They have a great deadpan/jokester sort of dynamic because Goemon is a straightfaced swordsman sort of trope and Lupin is an absolute clown Goemon and Jigen are usually paired with each other because they're both Lupin's closest allies and are usually the ones working with him. They trust each other a ton and consider each other close buddies. (: Also they have a funny dynamic where they essentially are entrusted with keeping Lupin in check because he has one (1) braincell and these guys r so done with him (affectionately). They hold each other in highest respect Goemon and Fujiko used to date. it didn't work out and Goemon does Not Trust Her, but their dynamic is pretty funny with her being a classic femme fatale and him just being like this all the time -_- Jigen and Fujiko are usually enemies, sometimes friends, and sometimes bond over mutually making Lupin's life harder as revenge on him <3 In short these guys just wanna have fun, commit crimes, get rich, and occasionally prevent horrific events from occurring to innocent people and they do it all together"

"This polycule deserves to win because it is a classic and unbeatable group of really cool characters who go extremely well together, and is very supported by the media from which it originates. Their group dynamics are super fun, and even with their different motivations, you can really feel how much they care about each other.
